> Source: [Patch 12.0.7 Made Midnight Leveling INSANELY FAST](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7UmXo_ZWus)

## Summary

Patch 12.0.7 has dramatically increased experience gains in Midnight, making leveling alts much faster. The video explains how to stack bonuses like War Mode, Prey quests, and weekly turn-ins to reach level 90 quickly, with invasion zones providing the final push.

### Key Points

- **Experience gains buffed** [0:29] — Blizzard increased XP from weekly content, delves, and invasion zones.
- **War Mode bonus** [1:55] — Enabling War Mode gives 15% extra XP, worth the minor PvP risk.
- **Prey system routing** [2:55] — Use Prey quests to select zones; completing them teleports you to Silvermoon for efficient turn-ins.
- **Recommended zones** [3:38] — Focus on Horrendar, Zul'Aman, and Eversong Woods; skip Void Storm's assault event.
- **Four free levels from weeklies** [6:49] — Save all weekly and delve quests to turn in with War Mode active for up to four free levels.
- **Invasion zones for final levels** [8:10] — Val and Nightal invasion zones grant XP from all activities and also provide gear and currencies.

## Transcript

Hello guys, how's it going? My name is
Dial. And it seems that patch 12.0.7
completely broke leveling in Midnight,
but in the best way possible. Let's be
honest, up until now leveling in this
expansion hasn't been completely
terribly slow, but also hasn't really
been fast either. With many players
noting that it kind of feels like a
slog, especially with the gear scaling
dropping off as you're trying to make
your way through the final few levels.
Thankfully, this patch in particular
transforms how we're going to be
leveling our alts or any of our
characters. Blizzard heavily buffed up
the experience gain for this patch all
across the board, increasing the amount
of gains you can make from your weekly
content, pray, delve quests, but even
also the new invasion zones where you
can basically take a character from
level 80 to 90 in a single afternoon.
And it's only going to get sillier from
here because the expected Turbulent
Timeways event is going to go online,
buffing up experience for everybody by
30 additional percent, which is going to
make leveling that much more of a
breeze. So, for today's video, I simply
wanted to highlight exactly how players
are leveling their alts, going over some
of the fastest and some of the easiest
brain-off routing available, especially
if you're trying to bolster up your army
of alts ahead of season two content with
the patch 12.1 looming on the horizon.
With that being said, as always, if you
guys want to see more regular guides and
updates for Midnight as an expansion, be
sure to follow the channel and
subscribe. But otherwise, let's dive
right in.
So, before we actually get into the
leveling route, I do want to talk a
little bit about war mode. Technically,
war mode is ideal if you are going to be
leveling from 80 to 90 and are trying to
make it as fast as possible. Enabling
war mode does mean that the open world
becomes a little more dangerous, so if
you're really averse to, you know, PvP
combat in general, you probably don't
want to have it enabled all the time,
but do know that you're likely going to
be going back to Silvermoon to re-enable
it because having it out for so many
different open world quests is huge. 15%
additional EXP that you can get on
average for most characters depending on
the faction balance up in the open world
ends up being massive. So, it is
something that you likely just want to
put on and then keep on. You're not
really going to spend too much time
actually doing stuff in the open world.
So, the danger level shouldn't be that
high. But if you do have to turn it off,
you may want to go back to capital city
to turn it back on before you turn in
some of the quests. But basically, you
try to have it on as all as best as
possible because the amount of XP you
get out of it is more than worth it.
Now, another thing that we'll be doing
for this strategy is while we're
figuring out our route, the route isn't
specifically set up in such a way where
you have to do like one zone the next
then the next in a very specific order.
Technically, you're free to do any zone
you want to, but essentially you'll be
using the prey system to guide you which
zone you're going to be leveling in.
Prey quests for the weekly are worth it.
They grant you a decent bit of EXP. So,
picking them up basically selects which
zone you're going to be clearing out.
And essentially, you want to end that
zone by finishing off your prey target
because that'll immediately teleport you
to Silvermoon. Not only completing a
quest, which will have a bonus within
war mode, which is massive, but also
takes you back to Silvermoon to select
the next prey area and then do that zone
specifically. So, we'll be utilizing
prey together with all the other
content. It doesn't really matter which
zone you do first for this, but I am
going to break down the zones more or
less in the terms of the in terms of the
order that I did them specifically. But
every time you go into a zone, make sure
you have a prey active within that zone
and you want to be finishing of that
zone with completing that prey objective
specifically.
Now, the basic objective no matter which
zone you go into is to do that zone's
event. So, every single one of the
factions or I guess the three that we'll
be actually utilizing instead of four
has some sort of like a big zone event.
Whether I'm talking about abundance,
swaray, or the harandar stories. Those
are the three you're going to want to
focus on. You still want to visit void
storm. You're just not going to be using
doing the void assault because it's not
really worth the time spent doing it or
the XP that you get up for the time
spent, but the others are definitely
worth it. So, every single zone you're
going to go into, you want to do the
pre-objective there, get the delves of
those zones done, but not turned in just
yet, and do the world event of that zone
if one is available, since abundance
tends to move around quite regularly.
The first zone I went to was Horrendar.
And in Horrendar, make sure you complete
the zone's weekly quest with the
Horrendar stories. Doesn't really matter
which one you select, but definitely
worth doing especially in a war mode. As
well as you want to make sure to get all
of the other delves within the zone
completed, and then, like I said before,
finishing out with praying.
From there, I actually ended up doing a
void storm where I simply completed all
of the delves of the zone, killed a
couple of rares since they were on the
way, and then mostly focusing keeping up
and finishing up by praying. From there,
I moved on to Zul'Aman, which make sure
to get all of those delves done. And
while you're within those zones, whether
it is void storm, Eversong Woods,
Zul'Aman, or Horrendar, if you do see
the abundance event, it's definitely
worth doing even in war mode. You can
technically turn it off since war mode
is enabled and you can't technically PvP
within the abundance. Most players don't
really do that since they're there to
level anyway. I usually can find like a
little pocket where you can just collect
all your abundance resources without
having to engage with other players, but
definitely worth doing and worth
completing whenever it is available.
Last zone I went to was Eversong Woods,
which is filled with a ton of delves.
Not only do you have the delves the two
next to Silvermoon, you have one up
north in the Quel'Thalas area, but also
one south below as well. So, that's a
lot of delves for you to complete, but
also this war event.
Notably on this war event, I think the
side quests for this war are generally
worth doing. They don't give you a lot
of XP, but they're usually so quick to
complete, especially if you choose the
Blood Knights faction. They really take
very little effort, and they're within
the relative zone area, so it's not like
you're really having to go out of your
way to complete them as well. So, if you
are trying to maximize those rewards,
technically you can go for any other
faction, whatever faction you're working
on, and it's not like it's going to take
you that much time and really be that
much out of the way to complete those
faction quests. Though, if you are
trying to maximize your speed run
potential for this, Blood Knights
apparently is the best faction for you
to do all of those side quests into.
Though, some of them can definitely be a
little bit finicky because of the way
that you select those side quests
depending on the faction can apparently
be a little different. There's a lot of
nuance to it and a lot of like detail
stuff, but generally speaking, Blood
Knights is the faster faction for any of
those side quests. And make sure you
complete the weekly quests as well.
Completing all of those weekly events
and having all of those delve quests
that you were ready to turn in at once
with war mode active to make sure that
you get in the most of experience for
the world questing cuz technically those
delve quests and weekly quests are
quests in the open world. So, with the
world scale with the war mode bonus, all
of them can easily take you up four
levels. So, that's four levels that you
don't actually have to grind through,
quest through, or do much with. What's
notable here is this is four free levels
just for doing your weekly objectives
that you can just do once and get the
most amount of experience for the time
spent. On top of it though, this is
going to scale even crazily out of
control because you're looking at four
easy levels now, but when Turbulent
Timeways is active for 30% additional
experience, that's going to be even more
value since all of those quests are
quests and Turbulent Timeways will
reward you additional experience for
quests specifically, which will stack
with war mode and all the other bonuses.
And if you can get Darkmoon Faire
squeezed in between of it for 10% more
XP, you can really get a lot of mileage
out of those weekly quests, which makes
them definitely worth doing. And
technically, you can wait to turn in all
of those weekly quests up until you're
level 86 just so you can skip that last
four levels from 86 all the way to a 90.
Or I guess technically could do it at 85
once the turbulent timer bonus and any
other benefits are online as well.
Now, by the time that I was done
clearing out all those weekly
objectives, I was able to go from 80 to
84, more or less. So, you will still
need a couple of more levels,
potentially one or two. And the best
place that I think you should get those
last few levels, well, actually will be
from the new invasion zones of Val and
Nightal. They ended up buffing the
experience rates in both of those zones
when you're running them on a non-max
level character on normal world tier.
And essentially, basically everything
you do in those zones from the quests,
side objectives, rares, world quests,
even treasures, essentially just
existing in the zone gives you
experience. Literally any activity you
do in there grants you EXP and a decent
bit of it just for completing some of
those zones passively, which also do
have other rewards as well. What makes
Val and Nightal especially good, if you
are looking to actually not just level
that character but play them in the
future, is the fact that you can start
collecting gear but also currencies to
gear out that character better once they
do hit max level. The benefits of it
being the fact that you're earning field
accolades really, really early.
Technically, if you just looking to get
the most amount of field accolades for
the time spent, you could just start out
in the zone specifically just to farm
field accolades endlessly. But you will
get a lot more field accolades once you
can do the zones in heroic world tier.
But we'll be specifically be going to
invasion zones just because it is the
simplest route to get experience.
Essentially, run around the zone,
participate in all the events, kill the
world boss if a group is available for
it, do all the side quests because
they're definitely worth it, and in no
time you should be able to complete last
few levels needed in order to get level
90.
But with that being said, as always, I
