[2:41] should he buy one yes contact james [2:44] orton [2:45] at crystal lake mazda anderson [2:48] crystal lake mazda if you have any [2:50] questions he will make sure that you [2:53] he's not a dick and he's not going to [2:55] try to sell you something but he does [2:56] work at the mazda dealership but if you [2:57] have any questions he [2:59] he's like one of the nicest guys we've [3:00] ever met and he's stuck around for quite [3:02] a while [3:02] alphabet broccoli for for two dollars [3:05] just said you should you should take [3:06] those two dollars and treat yourself [3:08] mark because you set up the audio [3:09] oh yeah i just set the audio up with [3:12] about twenty thousand dollars worth of [3:14] equipment here [3:15] that barely [3:18] for an hour and a half gabriel young for [3:21] five dollars i'm glad you bought a new [3:22] kia stinger gt2 congratulations [3:27] so it's so we have to say we bought one [3:29] now because oh is he talking about [3:30] one yeah no no he bought one [3:33] oh man we haven't driven it yet then he [3:35] won i'm sure it's amazing it's a kia [3:38] it's [3:38] just because he donated it means it's [3:40] amazing it's the best car [3:42] fault so if he's better than a gt3 rs no [3:44] nobody we're not talking about expensive [3:46] cars [3:47] uh how far from molina uh illinois are [3:50] you mark [3:51] oh that's pretty far actually let me do [3:53] a quick search while you ask the next [3:55] or answer the next question jack so we [3:57] have a bunch of patreon questions we're [3:59] going to answer we're going to answer [4:00] about five of them really quick before [4:02] we get into your paid questions [4:04] because whenever we do this this hour [4:06] and a half live stream [4:08] turns in like five hours and i take [4:10] years off my life [4:11] so it's an hour and ten minutes from us [4:15] to answer the molina question all right [4:17] so here are some good questions [4:18] that i thought you would really enjoy [4:21] and i wanted to start off with a [4:22] viewer's question [4:23] a patreon question about the dbx [4:28] and why instead of a dbx we did [4:31] a buick encore gx video instead [4:35] so andy the lab is getting uh [4:38] a dbx to review while the geese are [4:42] doing buick encore videos [4:46] how do you plan on competing in the new [4:48] animal-led market [4:51] i can't compete in the animal-led market [4:52] i don't have pets [4:54] and the pets that i do have are the [4:56] creepy crawlers [4:57] that i've somehow had managed to harvest [4:59] in my underwear so [5:01] but you're never truly alone mark that's [5:03] true so i i'm not gonna be able to pitch [5:05] a major manufacturer on the fact that i [5:07] have crabs [5:08] and uh can i put the crabs in their dbx [5:11] that's not gonna work [5:12] i mean hermit crabs oh yeah okay yeah [5:14] hermit crabs yeah i got hermit crabs [5:16] i've had them since i was a kid they've [5:17] lasted [5:18] 74 years this is a true story i've [5:20] always wanted to buy like one of those [5:22] turtles that lived for hundreds of years [5:23] to traumatize like one of my [5:25] great descendants somebody like some 12 [5:27] year old kid who gets a 300 year old [5:28] turtle and then dies [5:30] yes on their watch last night yeah you [5:32] have the turtle on life support just so [5:34] you can scar the kid for life the first [5:36] day they get it [5:37] so the you know this is a not serious [5:40] question but it is a serious question [5:42] and i think i wanted to talk about this [5:44] from the pure perspective of [5:46] where we're going because there was [5:47] another question about where do you see [5:48] this going in five years [5:50] yeah we'll both be dead pretty much i'll [5:52] have i'll be [5:53] in the hospital for sure or in a nursing [5:55] home [5:56] but here's the thing that we've i i've [5:58] been trying to tell jack this for a [6:00] while [6:00] and he's it's a good balance because i'm [6:04] on one extreme and you're kind of on the [6:05] other side you're just like it yeah [6:06] you're like a go-getter like dude i'm [6:08] gonna work hard i'm gonna make this [6:09] happen i'm not gonna quit i'm gonna show [6:11] the value and i'm like [6:13] these guys you know what i mean [6:16] like [6:16] i'm on the other extreme of why are we [6:19] putting so much effort [6:20] in for no reward or like somebody that [6:22] doesn't care so really [6:23] where we're at is like the aston was a [6:25] good example jack wanted to do advantage [6:28] and he was able to get in contact with [6:29] the rep and the rep [6:31] kind of him didn't hot and we finally [6:33] got one and then [6:35] it was just kind of like oh pretty cool [6:37] pretty cool that was it [6:38] so well then when you asked for the dbx [6:40] like nah we're probably not gonna have [6:42] one in the area thanks for reaching out [6:44] like the most generic answer and jack's [6:45] trying so hard [6:46] to like build these relationships which [6:48] is exactly what you should be doing [6:51] you're taking care of the business side [6:53] and i'm like [6:54] dude we need to stop wasting our time on [6:56] companies or people that don't value [6:59] what your strong suits are [7:00] if they don't value it and they don't [7:01] want to work with you don't chase them [7:03] because there's plenty of other [7:05] companies and people now that we've met [7:07] that really want to [7:09] feed into it be a part of it you know [7:11] and that's where i want to spend my [7:13] energy it depends on the brand rep and [7:14] that's what i mean [7:15] literally these last two weeks have [7:17] probably been the most eye-opening [7:19] experience i told you when we or at [7:20] least when i went to the toyota [7:22] headquarters event [7:23] seeing the fact that they appreciate [7:25] what we're doing [7:26] from an engineering perspective and on [7:28] top of that actually from a production [7:29] quality perspective [7:30] and the stuff with porsche we are doing [7:32] a [7:33] fairly substantial documentary with [7:35] porsche on the gt3s [7:37] and they're all about supporting us on [7:39] this project and there are certain [7:40] brands where [7:41] you will do you will show them your [7:44] worth as far as work goes [7:45] jlr is a good example of that and [7:48] the reality is these people don't get [7:50] paid or to do [7:51] extra work all they care about is the [7:53] base right minimum amount of work so [7:56] from our perspective working with us [7:57] means more work you got to talk about [7:58] yeah [7:59] it's that more work money was usually [8:01] well they're not paying us [8:02] but it's more work to provide us with [8:04] the resources to cater to like the [8:06] technical questions which means they [8:08] have to send 20 more emails and call [8:09] this person that person and that person [8:11] actually [8:12] has to do work and then it's like dude [8:13] why would you if they have no incentive [8:15] why would they do it right yeah and [8:16] there are certain brands with certain [8:18] reps like mazda as well [8:19] drew carey the guy who runs their pr [8:22] marketing side [8:22] is amazing because he cares about the [8:25] cars he cares about the engineers [8:26] working on it and he [8:27] values the perspective that you know at [8:30] least in our case we know what moves [8:31] product [8:32] people get excited et cetera et cetera [8:34] but so it's finding that balance between [8:36] me [8:36] like dude i don't and you're maxed out [8:38] yeah i just don't care like if you're if [8:40] you're not gonna put the resource [8:41] because it's really at the end of the [8:42] day it's it's kind of helping them [8:45] and that's kind of where i'm at like [8:46] you're giving us a car [8:48] you might actually get somebody to buy [8:50] it and we don't get anything out of it [8:52] other than getting a car [8:53] and then trying to you know just tell a [8:56] story about it [8:57] it's not our own car so why are we [8:58] trying so hard but aviation and autos by [9:00] michael does [9:01] does this mean we get a buick [9:02] documentary featuring the marketing team [9:05] yes absolutely if you uh if you're [9:07] watching this uh [9:08] live stream all 500 of you i highly [9:12] suggest [9:13] you watch the buick encore grande video [9:16] that's not grand [9:17] it's gx no it's the encore gx you that's [9:19] not the title [9:20] is it a grande i don't know it's an [9:22] american master [9:24] oh yeah there we go then we're gonna [9:26] follow it up with the envision [9:28] yeah buick should be like lose my number [9:32] uh so here's the next question this is a [9:33] serious one as well [9:35] what's your vision for ev and car person [9:38] electric vehicles [9:40] how do you preserve the soul of a [9:41] driver's car in the modern world [9:43] is it only about drive train are there [9:46] other key components that make a car a [9:48] driver's car [9:49] and this is from igor um [9:52] i i don't i don't think at this point [9:54] they have a good idea of it you [9:56] kind of have like porsche and audi doing [9:58] their evs [9:59] which that's a car company going [10:01] electric so it'll [10:04] right now i don't see it kind of in that [10:06] regard i think it's going to take some [10:07] time before we get these like pure [10:09] sports car evs and it's going to be [10:11] way different it's not going to be like [10:14] how it was [10:14] so what makes a driver's car let's strip [10:16] that back one because you know for me [10:18] right it's the theater and it's the fact [10:20] that the machine is super competent and [10:22] it does [10:22] everything you asked to to to do in a [10:25] like [10:25] a performance setting you don't fight [10:27] the car it aids you in becoming a better [10:28] driver but it's just [10:29] not driving yourself and obviously the [10:32] theater element of having a tremendous [10:34] engine is also a part of that and with [10:36] the ev part of it you lose [10:38] other than the speed you lose some of [10:40] that theater but you can tilt the [10:41] dynamics [10:42] i think you have to go to an extreme [10:44] level before you start to get some of [10:45] the fun back [10:46] what makes a good car really is balance [10:49] across the board right [10:50] yeah like it has to do everything really [10:52] well and i think generationally [10:54] all of us grew up with cars that [10:57] typically the best cars are a little bit [11:00] louder they have a sound character to [11:02] them [11:02] they have this typical like internal [11:04] combustion sound and now in evs [11:07] you lose a lot of that and we haven't [11:09] got the rawness from evs yet so the only [11:11] thing i can compare it to is like carts [11:13] you know if you get an electric cart or [11:15] a go-kart they don't sound good it just [11:16] sounds like a buzzing bees hornet's nest [11:19] so there's not really you still get the [11:20] sound there but [11:22] you can see how a car that may not have [11:25] the sound at all [11:26] can still be a great driving experience [11:28] we're just it's going to take a while [11:29] before we get to that place so for you [11:31] it's dynamics [11:32] it's dynamics and you're the way to fix [11:34] a lot of the problems in dynamics is [11:35] also weight [11:36] battery packs are super heavy so to get [11:38] enough [11:39] power and battery capacity to run a lot [11:42] of these sports cars on a track at least [11:44] you know you're gonna drain packs down [11:46] in like 20 minutes probably i would [11:48] think [11:49] in the modern cars so i don't know i [11:52] think they have to be lighter [11:54] i think they have to be more [11:55] purpose-built for the function of [11:56] driving and we don't really have an ev [11:58] that's like really purpose-built sports [12:00] car type thing [12:01] what did you drive the tesla roadster [12:04] the original one [12:04] yeah yeah i did it was not good it was [12:07] weighed way too much [12:08] so it's like you're taking an elise or [12:10] an exige [12:11] platform and then hacking it up to fit [12:14] the batteries in there and [12:15] while it was interesting it just it [12:18] lacked [12:19] it just felt more cumbersome to drive so [12:22] it felt compromised [12:23] for sure uh let me pull up the [12:26] next question sorry i'm uh [12:29] for our five viewers who are watching [12:31] today [12:32] i'm i'm gonna pull there's six million [12:34] jokes oh perfect [12:35] six million they're all we're all [12:37] broadcasting from my boat right now [12:41] um there's a good question about [12:47] this is a john question should we all [12:49] start hoarding gas-powered sports cars [12:51] now that the [12:52] that we're gonna do an electric future [12:54] yes [12:55] let's just answer that right now you got [12:57] about 10 years [12:59] we've seen all most of these [13:00] manufacturers timelines for what they [13:02] want to do [13:03] and if there's some like stupid [13:06] naturally aspirated car with a manual [13:08] for sure buy that [13:10] if there's some ridiculously high [13:11] horsepower car that has a horrible [13:13] emissions ratings [13:15] like a one i like the gt500 yeah and the [13:17] hellcats [13:18] you should buy one basically anything [13:20] like that you're that window's closing [13:22] so if you want it do it now before they [13:24] get ridiculously expensive [13:27] uh there was a question about mazda that [13:29] i found on the patreon side i'm trying [13:31] to pull it up [13:32] find it i'll answer another question [13:33] while you're doing that right somebody [13:34] asked [13:35] uh is now a good time to buy a new car [13:37] and the straight answer is now is a [13:39] horrible time to buy a used car [13:41] and it's not such a great time to buy a [13:43] new car because you're ha [13:45] you have to buy it for msrp or higher [13:46] with those kind of the shortages [13:48] so if you're planning on buying a new [13:50] car the only way to do it is if you have [13:51] a really solid trade-in [13:53] that they're going to overvalue that's [13:55] going to make up for the fact that the [13:56] msrp [13:57] might pay that or a little bit above so [13:59] it'll balance it out but you're [14:00] essentially going to go in and have to [14:01] order the car you want that's that's the [14:03] best way to buy right now just with what [14:05] everything going on [14:06] light to that my girlfriend's older [14:08] sister [14:09] she is getting rid of her tuxen that we [14:11] told her to buy a couple years ago or [14:13] tucson for people who are yeah [14:17] and um they're i'm sure they're going to [14:19] give our monster trade and on tucson [14:21] given that it is a in-demand market [14:23] segment something to help [14:24] now that she's a big girl and she wants [14:26] to grow and not grow she wants to go to [14:28] colorado and she wants to grow [14:31] me like 500 pounds move from being like [14:33] 130 pounds [14:34] i thought she was like 70. yeah yeah [14:38] yeah um but she can't see they're in [14:40] washington state [14:41] or she is and she can't find a tacoma [14:45] zero i thought you said she was getting [14:47] a crv she wanted a crv [14:48] hybrid and then for some reason she's [14:50] moved to trucks because she's a truck [14:52] girl [14:52] okay now yeah okay but she's looking for [14:55] a tacoma and they'll [14:56] go there are none i bet you could find [14:58] her a nice hhr if she needs it oh man [15:00] that would be [15:01] sssr she would look good yeah out in [15:04] colorado with her ssr [15:06] but here was a question you have any [15:08] educated speculation [15:10] on the upcoming rear wheel drive mazda [15:12] platform and their inline six [15:14] and this is from michael glenn uh [15:17] i don't have any knowledge that is [15:21] shareable um and most of it is [15:23] speculation i'll be honest [15:25] the the mazda toyota factory that is [15:28] being [15:28] met built is supposedly and this is [15:31] straight from toyota that joint venture [15:33] is a suv they are making an suv there [15:38] they won't say what but the development [15:41] is completely [15:42] separated they may be sharing workforce [15:46] but they are not going to be sharing a [15:47] platform [15:49] uh so it's not like a combined it's [15:51] combined workforce but not combined [15:53] product [15:54] so they will have two separate [15:56] manufacturing or they might go on the [15:58] same line i don't know [15:59] but that's as much as i know in terms of [16:00] the mazda6 getting killed off i think [16:03] um mazda has some announcements later in [16:06] the year [16:07] uh and i don't know one of them is can't [16:09] be is that under embargo the one that [16:11] they emailed us about [16:12] i don't actually remember one is already [16:14] known in other markets [16:16] the other one we don't know what it is [16:18] it could be an announcement for the [16:20] mazda6 but [16:21] it again it's speculation it is coming i [16:24] just don't know when [16:25] so the one thing that people seem to [16:26] forget um as well [16:28] is toyota is mazda's bank as well [16:32] toyota financial does help provide from [16:34] one understand based on my week there [16:36] and this is public knowledge [16:37] a lot of mazda's financing and mazda [16:39] dealers will now have access [16:41] to toyota financing moving forward which [16:44] is a [16:45] huge benefit for their customer base and [16:47] as many people may or may not know [16:49] toyota's the largest holder of [16:51] automotive loans [16:52] here at least in the united states well [16:55] they're one of the biggest banks in the [16:56] world and that's because [16:57] they also give out loans for other [16:59] companies so [17:01] you know they everybody talks about [17:03] toyota being an enormous [17:04] entity in terms of cars but they also [17:07] are an enormous entity in terms of [17:08] loaning out money [17:09] in a company like mazda which james [17:11] actually asked a question about this [17:13] like how do these dealerships stay alive [17:16] right now [17:17] when he typically had 60 used cars on [17:19] the lot and they're down to 10. [17:21] you know that's one problem and then the [17:24] financing is going to become another [17:25] because you have this inflated [17:27] this infl i don't you know i'm not going [17:29] to get into the john business part of [17:31] this but you know you have the inflation [17:33] and then you have the inflated prices [17:34] which are two separate things [17:36] and what what point do banks get spooked [17:39] and stop loaning out the required money [17:40] people are going to be defaulting on [17:42] their loans and you you just need to [17:43] talk to a good financial advisor it's [17:46] one of the bigger banks at the risk of [17:47] sounding like john business [17:48] they know all these people who are [17:50] taking out loans and cars they can't [17:51] afford [17:52] because for whatever reason they want to [17:53] buy them and they're buying at these [17:54] inflated prices people are going to [17:56] start defaulting on cars [17:57] that's if it comes back down but yeah if [17:59] you're if you're loaning out money on a [18:01] car that's like [18:02] fifty thousand dollars and it really [18:04] should be 40 [18:05] and then somebody's stuck with that high [18:06] payment there's no incentive really to [18:08] to pay it back if the market like it [18:10] cools off so [18:12] it's kind of a weird position to be in i [18:14] don't know how the dealerships do it [18:16] like to james point [18:17] you know if you have an inventory of 10 [18:18] cars you're cutting head count [18:20] they're they're laying off people and [18:22] sending people home [18:24] so you don't have product people can't [18:26] have jobs and then the products that [18:27] they do have [18:28] are way overpriced and then it's it's a [18:31] vicious cycle so in terms of cars [18:33] i don't know i think it's a wait-and-see [18:35] game as soon as production comes back up [18:38] people are going to be like [18:39] going nuts yeah and that might drive [18:41] prices down too so [18:42] it's the market's gonna be flooded yeah [18:43] you're gonna have like all these cars [18:45] coming in people are gonna be clamoring [18:47] so hopefully it recovers my guess is it [18:50] will [18:50] so i'm gonna ask answer a question [18:52] that's been asked like nine [18:53] times by alberto canderlo [18:58] why don't you i know my my ability to [19:00] pronounce names is [19:01] horrendous how does a youtube of the [19:03] small channel get [19:04] press cars review well alberto your best [19:07] bet in the way mark did it is make a [19:09] connection at a press company [19:10] so at a car company one of the pr [19:12] managers [19:14] and uh if you can pitch someone either [19:15] your value your production quality or [19:17] something they'll give you a chance [19:19] and that's the way you you start is just [19:21] through that and through referrals [19:22] through other manufacturers [19:24] and building a i don't know a reputation [19:28] and a value that [19:29] you're going to add to these oems you [19:30] need an angle and right now there's two [19:32] of them [19:33] either you're a journalist and media or [19:36] you're an influencer and that's kind of [19:38] how they're dealing with this when i [19:39] started the influencer part was like [19:41] really tiny now it's like they're [19:43] bringing influencers on trips so if you [19:45] have a huge following on [19:47] you know generationally i mean i'm not [19:50] going to get into what i feel about it [19:51] but if you're if you're huge on tick [19:52] tock [19:53] and you have a following on tick tock [19:55] and instagram and you can prove you have [19:56] a lot of followers regardless if you [19:58] make content that could be enough to get [19:59] you a press car [20:01] counter point is like if you're good on [20:03] youtube or whatever you're more the [20:04] journalist side that will help you if [20:06] you have [20:07] nothing then the next suggestion would [20:09] be you have to join a press guild [20:11] that's about it you need to join a press [20:13] skill but you have to have content to [20:14] show [20:15] so that means that's why a lot of these [20:16] guys get started whoring themselves out [20:18] at dealerships [20:19] getting every dealership to give them a [20:21] car whether the content's good or bad [20:23] it's building up [20:24] something but i'm telling you right now [20:26] everybody's doing that [20:27] because that that bar to entry is so low [20:30] to churn that out you have to have a [20:33] differentiator [20:34] and if you're not doing something [20:35] different then you're just going to get [20:36] lost and you're going to be beating your [20:37] head against the wall [20:38] yep that's that's probably the best [20:40] summary of that last patreon question [20:42] and those on patreon i will [20:44] like i've been doing so far answering [20:46] the i'll answer the questions via text [20:48] um takeaways from the toyota no no [20:51] that's not the question i want to ask [20:52] well here takeaways from the toyota [20:54] event do you know [20:55] when you're getting a gv70 and do you [20:58] have any recommendations for genesis [21:00] products as a whole uh i'll [21:03] talk about the genesis stuff we will be [21:05] getting a g70 and a g [21:07] we'd already did a gv70 no the gb 70's [21:09] not the junior gb8 we'll get a gv70 and [21:11] a g70 i know that's on [21:13] the list they're just filling the fleets [21:15] out in the regions [21:17] so far what i've seen is it's just going [21:20] to be a better [21:21] previous generation g70 and the interior [21:23] and exterior [21:25] they're going to make some subtle [21:26] improvements but overall it's not going [21:27] to be that much different of a car [21:29] because it's on the same platform [21:31] uh they've updated a few things but i'm [21:33] looking forward to it [21:35] yeah and the takeaways from the toyota [21:36] events the stuff i can talk about or [21:38] kind of allude to as the embargoes get [21:40] lifted [21:41] the future is pretty bright for the [21:43] brand um [21:44] it is also uh certain things that we [21:47] love about the brand [21:48] specifically the v8 even though they [21:50] haven't publicly announced it and it's [21:51] been brought up a lot [21:53] you can probably assume that's going [21:54] away and the iso 500 is going to be at [21:56] swan song [21:57] yeah no that's well known we talked [21:59] about it last year when we did our lexus [22:00] video that the v8 is dead [22:02] now it is dead it really i mean at least [22:04] the naturally aspirated version [22:06] now they're they you know the thing is [22:08] this toyota japan and twitter america [22:10] don't particularly connect on every [22:11] single topic they do not if it's a [22:13] purely japanese project [22:15] high up in the ranks america is going to [22:17] be kind of the last to know about it [22:19] so they have patents and stuff and all [22:21] this crap's come out for twin turbo v8s [22:23] and we've seen things from japan where [22:25] they said those v8s are going to be [22:26] reserved for cars well in excess of a [22:28] hundred thousand dollars [22:29] so my belief is there will be a twin [22:32] turbo v8 and some [22:33] high-end product but everything that [22:35] toyota america and toyota lexus says [22:37] in america is that they're going ev they [22:40] don't really have [22:42] that information or they don't know they [22:44] think they're going in a different [22:44] direction but i think japan is going to [22:46] have some like swan song like crazy v8 [22:48] cars also knowing how akio runs the [22:50] company [22:51] is getting that perspective and talking [22:53] like talking to people like ken gucci so [22:56] a project and this is a question that's [22:57] been asked like nine times now in the [22:58] chat [22:59] thoughts on the gr86 we are confirming [23:02] some stuff with [23:03] toyota and lexus usa logistically but [23:06] we're doing a pretty big video [23:07] on the 86 obviously no journalists drove [23:10] the 86 [23:12] or at least was allowed to drive the 86 [23:15] but we all got to ride shotgun and i [23:17] probably did the most slaps [23:19] with ken gucci there out of anyone just [23:21] because no one wanted to ride with him [23:23] for some reason [23:24] um the 86 feels remarkably similar to [23:28] the prior generation vehicle [23:30] um you know if you like the prior car [23:33] this one's better [23:33] and basically talking you can it's [23:35] better in every conceivable way [23:38] um and it's it's really really [23:39] impressive and hopefully they keep the [23:40] price to a [23:41] you know affordability range and you [23:43] know it's proof that toyota lexus and [23:45] the story about akio toyota is true he [23:47] confirmed that [23:48] akio basically went to a bunch of near [23:50] engineers a couple months ago [23:52] and went this is horrible fix it but [23:54] what that's the problem what was [23:56] horrible about it [23:57] okay so i mean really it's it's an [24:00] evolution of the last car [24:02] more power more torque better power band [24:04] um [24:05] what was the other i don't see i don't [24:07] know how much stuff we can actually talk [24:08] about i wasn't there so i don't yeah the [24:10] embargo is kind of like a murky thing so [24:11] i don't want to bring up too much but at [24:13] least that is a publicly recognized [24:15] story [24:15] yeah it's one of the things that is so [24:16] interesting about the company is akio [24:18] toyota [24:19] because of the new driving philosophy [24:20] associated with lexus [24:22] supposedly signs off on every car [24:24] dynamically at least the cars he cares [24:26] about which [24:27] at this point yeah um which is i mean it [24:29] is really really impressive [24:31] it's the gr cars because gr is his yeah [24:34] he started that so [24:35] i i can understand why he would want his [24:37] his hand yeah you're not having like [24:38] maribera drift around in a c8 that's not [24:42] something you're getting but you are [24:43] getting that with lexus which is amazing [24:46] uh sorry toyota so let's uh let's get [24:49] into some of the paid questions so uh we [24:51] don't [24:52] uh miss all of these and i apologize let [24:55] me [24:56] pull up or you want to [24:59] answer some of these questions [25:03] all right paul for five dollars thank [25:06] you so much paul for the donation [25:07] what are your predictions on what trucks [25:10] and cars from the 90s will be [25:11] collectible classics 30 years from now [25:13] trucks and cars from the 90s [25:16] uh i think we already know a lot of [25:18] those right that's 2000 [25:19] nsx a lot of the japanese uh [25:23] like love rx 8 or rx7 [25:27] uh some of the german cars that aren't [25:29] too disposable or tech based [25:31] like the 996s have just skyrocketed in [25:35] price [25:37] what about the bombers e36s are going up [25:39] e46s are crazy e39 [25:42] m5s are insane i don't really see that [25:43] for the mercedes products [25:45] i just think cars that were automatic as [25:48] well [25:48] will not appreciate the same rate as [25:50] manuals because the automatic gearbox [25:52] even an enthusiast car dates it so [25:54] heavily yeah i think like i started to [25:56] say this before if you get anything [25:57] that's naturally aspirated [25:59] and a manual transmission i mean that's [26:02] you're already set up if you get [26:03] something clean [26:04] and it may not have a value now but if [26:06] you get something clean that's not [26:07] totally beat up those are those are the [26:09] ones that target in terms of trucks i [26:10] don't really know [26:11] i mean you're talking about like [26:13] cyclones and stuff like that [26:15] and yeah srt10 i mean that's just like a [26:17] lot of these things [26:18] really clean tacomas like yeah yeah yeah [26:21] yeah [26:22] like some of the toyota trucks the clean [26:24] tundras and obviously the stupid things [26:26] like srt-10s and all that other nonsense [26:28] i todd messaged me or messaged like the [26:31] group about some japanese cars that are [26:33] playing cruisers [26:34] well he sent first he sent uh [26:37] film props which you can't really see [26:39] here but he wanted me to get in [26:41] the uzi from uh casino from the scene [26:44] for that for four hundred dollars [26:46] um but yeah there's a website called [26:49] japanese classics llc and they sell all [26:52] the imports [26:53] and websites like that are really a good [26:55] way to kind of see what's [26:58] going up in price and what you could buy [26:59] as a collectible there's a lot of cool [27:01] stuff out there but i'll leave it at [27:02] that [27:03] yeah i think the most of the market's so [27:06] crazy right now i was talking to [27:08] uh uh someone on instagram who's uh like [27:12] sort of a journalist i think her channel [27:14] is now called torque [27:15] it changed what was it before uh hot [27:18] dogs yeah hot dogs dogs [27:20] but she was uh being like can you [27:22] imagine waking up and telling yourself [27:24] that you just bought a 996 [27:25] convertible used like non-turbo nothing [27:28] for 50 [27:29] 000 yeah and that's just the proof the [27:31] prices right now make [27:32] no sense but i'm sure cars like that [27:35] because it was manual blah blah blah [27:36] blah are going up crazy in value [27:38] hopefully that answers your question [27:40] paul here's one i back on the patreon [27:42] said what's your opinion on bmw's bet on [27:44] the new comic style front grille this is [27:46] a huge uproar amongst existing and [27:48] potential owners [27:49] why do they insist on using the new [27:51] grills [27:53] you're john bmws not that john bmw [27:56] dude you're probably got three on order [27:58] just the grills [28:00] yeah i just ordered front ends of m3s [28:02] and regular four series [28:04] so from my understanding a lot of that [28:06] was done for the chinese market [28:08] genuinely it was a request that they had [28:11] the big grill [28:12] look is something that a lot of people [28:13] seem to like and it also [28:15] you know the it's their overcompensating [28:18] for the fact that people used to think [28:19] they were boring so now i gotta look [28:20] like i've got [28:21] money so money equals big grill we joke [28:24] about this all the time [28:25] manufacturers should have the narcissist [28:27] package which just shows your net worth [28:29] in the back window [28:31] yep but i i just i don't see it aging [28:34] well i think though [28:34] i don't really care so much about the [28:36] grill because all that those trends kind [28:38] of evolve over time and they [28:39] get normalized and you're just like [28:40] everybody starts doing the same thing [28:42] and you're like okay now that's normal [28:44] for that time period or that [28:45] five win five year window to me what's [28:48] more disgusting [28:49] is that m4 i hate the way the car looks [28:53] i don't even care about the grill it's [28:54] like proportionately it's like a mustang [28:56] mixed with like yeah it looks well [28:59] tiburon like i don't know i see so many [29:01] cars in it [29:02] and it's just i don't know it's just not [29:04] that attractive of a car to me but then [29:06] again [29:06] i don't look at it as seriously as like [29:08] a bmw enthusiast because to me they're [29:10] all like [29:11] i think i've i've started to move away [29:13] from liking bmws more and more because [29:15] as you said they're getting more and [29:16] more soulless and i am starting to agree [29:18] with that [29:18] though i will say this we are getting a [29:20] new m3 [29:22] and m4 uh viewers giving us his m3 [29:24] manual [29:25] and we're getting an m4 competition from [29:27] the press fleet which is automatic [29:29] um it'll be interesting you know it [29:31] still makes me excited that they still [29:32] make a rear drive [29:34] manual sports car that revs and isn't [29:38] going to like a four-cylinder like [29:39] mercedes [29:40] or has stripped away any of its dual [29:42] personality sportiness like an s4 or rs5 [29:45] well these manufacturers have it good [29:47] now because instead of everybody [29:49] complaining [29:49] about their cars now we're at a place [29:52] where we're like [29:53] well we better not complain about it [29:54] because there's nothing left and you [29:56] know so like everybody's now making [29:57] excuses for that fact well at least [29:59] they're making something it's like [30:01] yeah i know the lowest common [30:02] denominator like thing [30:05] and that's just the way it is i think [30:07] what what's the car that we just did oh [30:08] we're doing the tlx type s [30:10] yeah and that was kind of the argument [30:11] in this car is [30:13] you know there's nothing wrong with it [30:15] everything that's wrong with it [30:16] is just because of the era that it's [30:18] made in you know [30:20] they have a dozen it has a box that it's [30:22] trapped in because of what they have to [30:24] do to make a card today [30:25] and those requirements to make that car [30:27] successful today [30:29] including all the regulation stuff is [30:31] what is makes that tlx [30:33] an issue not the car and that's to me [30:36] the biggest disappointment of doing this [30:38] but there are certain brands it's still [30:39] and here's my problem with the car [30:41] in retrospect we're actually just about [30:43] to film the shop segment on the tlx type [30:45] house we're going to do that tonight [30:46] after this [30:47] one of my issues with that car is [30:50] you know you are an old-school honda guy [30:52] and the people who are going to be [30:53] buying it [30:54] are people like you right old school [30:56] honda guys and what is the thing that [30:58] people love about hondas it's their [31:00] engines and you could take that three [31:02] liter [31:03] again so if people who don't know the [31:05] tlx type s motor only robs a 6200 rpm [31:08] you can put that in an audi you put that [31:10] in a bmw an infiniti [31:12] not a lexus because they don't make [31:13] anything modern but you know you could [31:14] put it in another car [31:16] and it would feel at home in that car it [31:19] doesn't feel like a honda engine [31:21] and yes it is turbocharged but other [31:24] turbocharged powertrains [31:26] wind out they still have something like [31:28] the b58 which is a generic ass engine [31:31] from bmw revs to 7000 rpm [31:34] and you know if you drive a modern [31:35] porsche engine the three liter [31:37] it's incredible even with turbos yeah [31:40] it's a it's a tough call honda and acura [31:42] are big [31:43] on doing their own stuff um and we [31:46] always say this some of the things that [31:47] they do are to their own detriment [31:49] i i respect the fact that they want to [31:51] try to do this on their own [31:52] um and they have their own path and i [31:54] think that's what's unique about these [31:55] cars is it's [31:56] it's very uniquely acura and honda and [32:00] that's why i like it and there's so much [32:01] that you connect with something that's a [32:03] bad car [32:03] no no it's a very good car i'm just [32:05] saying that it it does feel like a honda [32:07] and acura [32:09] but the engine and transmission are no [32:11] longer what made them [32:12] great and memorable like what you're [32:13] saying it's now become [32:15] kind of a victim of where we're at in [32:18] terms of [32:19] development and everything else what's [32:21] impressive about the car is [32:22] the dynamics it is one of the most [32:23] impressive sports sedans [32:26] not track sport ends you can buy from [32:27] handling perspective right it's amazing [32:30] and that's that's something we'll talk [32:31] about in the video like i when i do the [32:33] final thoughts for it one of the big [32:34] things is is [32:36] the tl type s or the old honda and acura [32:38] products [32:39] you know they were very memorable in [32:41] their time periods because they were [32:43] special [32:44] they had a unique thing that didn't mean [32:45] they were the best and that's something [32:47] we talked about lexus and toyota too [32:48] they're very unique but they didn't they [32:50] didn't have the specs they didn't have [32:51] the numbers game they didn't have the [32:53] alt-right performance they didn't have [32:54] some of the crazy engineering [32:56] this new tlx type s has more of that [32:59] than it used to [33:00] and it's way better than their old cars [33:02] and it looks good and it looks good [33:04] it's just not what they used to make and [33:07] i [33:08] i don't know that people that are a huge [33:10] enthusiast of these cars are going to be [33:11] able to accept that and move on to this [33:13] next phase [33:14] i'm struggling with it because of what i [33:17] grew up with [33:18] i'm struggling with this changeover that [33:20] we're going through and a lot of it is [33:21] not for the better [33:23] um in terms of fun factor and i don't [33:26] know [33:26] you know that everybody's gonna have to [33:27] suffer through this i think it's gonna [33:29] be interesting to me [33:30] to watch real honda people again like i [33:33] said in the tlx video i grew up with [33:35] acuras for a little while my dad had [33:37] like three legends he had a first gen [33:39] nsx and [33:40] he had the very first model year tl type [33:44] s when it was first offered here in the [33:45] us [33:46] so i grew up with these things and what [33:48] i remember about those cars is [33:49] objectively they were dynamically worse [33:51] right yeah than the germans but had a [33:53] very special motor [33:55] you know despite not being an m car or [33:57] whatever right and [33:58] now it's the exact opposite dynamically [34:00] it's really really impressive [34:02] you're right you could do things in the [34:04] tlx type s you couldn't do in a three [34:06] series yeah not an m3 but like a yeah [34:08] like a lot of cars [34:09] i mean you really you really could but [34:11] you're losing the [34:12] that's what i'm saying in the video [34:13] you're losing something [34:15] with with losing the engine and that [34:17] goes back to that ev question [34:18] is you know how do you make these cars [34:21] feel special when you have [34:22] basically electric motors electronic [34:25] control [34:26] torque that's not even torque vectoring [34:27] it's electronic control of where that [34:28] motor puts down power and all these cars [34:30] are going to start to run together when [34:32] you don't have like a sound signature [34:33] you don't have vibration you don't have [34:35] all you're doing is like do i add more [34:36] power and torque or do we take it away [34:38] and how do we electronically control it [34:40] and this last generation of these [34:42] internal combustion engines [34:44] is very much in that same boat you have [34:46] all the complications of ice ice [34:48] but then you have all electronic [34:49] controls of it [34:51] so it's like it's lost a huge huge part [34:54] anyway all right so we'll get back do [34:56] you have another question you want to [34:57] answer [34:57] all right so i'll pull this next one um [35:00] this is from taylor robertson and taylor [35:02] thank you so much for the 20 [35:03] donation supporting you guys has always [35:05] missed your live streams i've settled on [35:07] getting a veloster and getting one in [35:09] two weeks [35:10] any ideas on track deficiencies do i [35:12] need a catch can a big brake kit [35:14] will be dailied and tracked what pile [35:17] was this [35:17] of waste oh yeah that's what i thought [35:20] no just [35:22] do the um do a catch can if you're gonna [35:25] drive it a lot and you're gonna track it [35:27] that's just direct injection it's for [35:29] your own benefit [35:30] um and then just drain the thing every [35:33] month [35:34] or every oil change usually you'll know [35:35] just check it more frequently [35:37] drain the can if there's nothing in [35:39] there and you just did attract date well [35:41] you know you don't have to check it [35:42] that's cheap insurance that [35:44] the velociran has almost no serious [35:47] cooling issues [35:48] it doesn't have a lot of issues to begin [35:50] with [35:51] depending on how hard you are you're [35:52] probably going to need real pads yes [35:54] you're probably going to need real tires [35:56] and real brake fluid like the typical [35:58] stuff that you're going to do you're [35:59] going to do on this car [36:00] tires brake fluid and then plan for pads [36:02] as you get better at driving it [36:04] um and then you're going to want to i'm [36:06] telling you right now [36:07] i don't know what i think it's 530 [36:09] that's in there you don't want to use a [36:10] high-end oil you're going to redline [36:12] you're going to have this a group 5 oil [36:14] doesn't matter which one you use a group [36:16] 5 [36:17] synthetic and you're going to want to [36:19] probably go up a weight [36:20] if you're in a hot climate and you're [36:21] tracking a lot so if it's i don't think [36:23] it's 0 [36:24] 20. i don't remember but if it's 0 20 [36:26] you'd want to go up to a minimum of like [36:27] 530. [36:29] if it runs a 530 by default you could [36:31] probably go to a 1030 because it raises [36:33] the upper end [36:34] temperature on the track uh before it [36:36] thins out [36:37] so like even though the the lower number [36:39] like this is something i'm just gonna [36:41] i don't even know why i'm saying this if [36:43] you run a 530 [36:45] and you run a 10 30 even though that [36:48] 30 is the same that the oil will thin [36:51] out on the 530 at a higher temperature [36:55] then the oil will thin out on a 10 30 [36:57] and that's because there's a trade-off [36:59] in that base [37:00] for cold weather that affects the high [37:02] in temperatures and that's something [37:03] that people don't get so [37:04] if you're tracking it you're in the heat [37:06] just go up get rid of [37:08] get rid of that winter number bump that [37:10] up so you have a higher temperature at [37:11] the top [37:12] and then protect yourself in the summer [37:13] and if you're in a cold climate then [37:14] move it back to like a 5 [37:16] 20 or a 5 30 in the winter that's all [37:19] you know yeah and congratulations on [37:21] your purchase [37:22] yeah the velociram was a huge yeah it's [37:25] hard to drive that was a lot of fun [37:28] bataran 998 for five dollars hey y'all [37:31] this is a question for you mark it [37:32] involves lc 500 oh god [37:34] i'm looking into buying an lc 500 used [37:37] maybe [37:37] 18 or 19 any options uh [37:41] or do i need to be any any options i [37:43] need to be looking for in one [37:45] uh so it depends on what you're going to [37:46] do the the straight answer is [37:49] stay away from the 18s that's why [37:51] they're so cheap [37:52] there's nothing particularly wrong with [37:53] them other than the suspension was [37:55] messed up on them [37:56] i said it in the video it rode like [37:58] and i've had people contact me on the [38:00] side [38:01] like i've had a lot of people contact me [38:02] on the side about this car [38:04] i told them like look they're like how [38:06] much of a deal [38:08] is it the 18 to the 19 the suspension [38:10] change i'm like go in it if you can go [38:12] side by side that's when you'll [38:13] appreciate it so i had one guy's like [38:15] dude [38:15] i couldn't believe how much of a [38:17] difference it was in damping like [38:18] softness and compliance between the 18 [38:20] and 19. the 18 felt like it was concrete [38:22] the 19 is smoothed out so if you can [38:24] find a 19 or a 20 [38:26] that's great the 21s are way way more [38:28] expensive and it's even softer [38:30] um but the only options are the [38:33] performance pack which they just changed [38:35] the dynamic handling package they [38:36] rebranded it for 21 [38:38] but the performance pack on the 19s and [38:40] 20s gives you rear wheel steering [38:42] and then it gives you the carbon roof [38:44] and a torso [38:45] standard the performance pack is a huge [38:48] difference if you're getting a coupe [38:49] obviously you're getting a coupe at 19 [38:51] and 20. it makes a huge difference at [38:53] making the car feel smaller than it is [38:55] which means when you turn the wheel [38:57] because it's got vgrs too so [38:59] you turn past a certain point and the [39:00] ratio changes it feels quicker [39:02] that combined with the rear wheel [39:04] steering it shrinks the car in about [39:05] half [39:06] and it just makes it way more nimble to [39:08] drive if you're not beating the out [39:10] of it like me [39:11] like i don't ever drive that car normal [39:14] you can get away with not getting that [39:15] because you're going to save a lot of [39:16] money and it's harder to find a [39:17] performance back if all you're doing is [39:19] going straight you want to listen to the [39:20] engine and cruise down the road and [39:22] you know just flog it you don't need the [39:24] performance pack so that's [39:26] that but if you're already spending the [39:27] money i feel like just get the [39:28] performance yeah if you can find it [39:30] just spend the extra five grand or six [39:32] grand or whatever the premium is now to [39:34] get a used one [39:35] um your it'll have a better resale value [39:37] too i think if you go to flip it because [39:39] there were more rare [39:41] so the next question and again thank you [39:43] for uh [39:44] for asking then thanks for the donation [39:46] um [39:47] brian monroe for five dollars thank you [39:49] for the donation [39:50] paul 2k hey guys met you at audubon a [39:53] few weeks ago on track [39:54] would you rather have a modified s2000 [39:57] or a stock gt350 [39:59] driving the s is worse than my back but [40:01] i'm worried i will regret selling it [40:04] so you're an s2000 owner and i adore the [40:07] 350. [40:08] um you know the s2000s now are worth an [40:11] unbelievable amount of money [40:13] yeah yeah this is the problem that i had [40:15] because i just tracked the s2000 [40:17] like what am i probably at the strategy [40:20] yeah and i [40:20] i drove it and i instantly felt bad [40:23] i felt bad because i know it's harder to [40:26] get these cars now i never thought like [40:27] this [40:28] the car is in such good shape you know [40:30] it's like everything is finally set up [40:32] on it it feels good it just [40:34] it's such an enjoyable car to drive and [40:36] then i'm sitting there like we were [40:37] doing it we did a 30 minute session [40:39] and the clutch failed at the end of it [40:41] because it's something but it was also [40:43] so old it's not even the car's not even [40:45] modified the clutch is just tired and [40:46] i'm sitting here thinking i just drove [40:47] this thing for 30 minutes beat the [40:49] out of it [40:50] i'm like for what i mean it's fun to [40:52] drive but it's not like i'm racing or [40:54] anything and it just like [40:56] that to me now that car has become a [40:58] collectible to me and yes i enjoy [41:00] driving it's one of the best driving [41:02] cars on the track [41:03] modified it's even better but there's [41:06] this progression [41:07] to get that car to be fast you have to [41:09] go through the suspension [41:11] the tires and once you get to that place [41:13] where you have all that set up then [41:14] you're doing bushings [41:15] alignment stuff ball joints you're doing [41:18] reinforcements and then the biggest [41:19] problem is is arrow [41:20] you'll hit a wall and that's where my [41:22] car is at you get in higher speed [41:24] sweepers and no matter how much grip you [41:26] have that car is [41:27] lifting and that back end is kind of [41:28] always moving around and it's slowing [41:30] you down and you're like [41:32] now i got to do a splitter now i gotta [41:34] do these big ass wings i gotta do a hard [41:36] top all this and really at the end [41:38] of the day [41:39] it's not making it that much difference [41:41] unless you're really going out there to [41:42] compete in some type of time trial [41:44] and it just [41:45] to me it's not worth it if you're going [41:47] to go out there and you're going to [41:48] want to go fast just get a gt350 if you [41:51] want to keep the s2000 [41:53] keep it don't really ruin it with stuff [41:55] because it doesn't make it [41:56] all that much better and your the value [41:58] of it's going to be much higher [42:00] so he currently has and has 2 000. [42:03] and i would keep it dude if your s2000 [42:05] isn't totally just [42:07] annihilated or ruined yeah if it's [42:09] totally if you already have it screwed [42:10] up and it's got like 150 [42:12] 000 miles on it just just go go for it [42:15] just modify the hell out of it but i [42:16] mean if it's in a [42:17] if it's a really good example and [42:18] there's hasn't been just keep it and [42:20] hold on to it it's going to be worth a [42:21] lot of money [42:22] yeah just stuff it make the peace with [42:24] the fact that it's going to sit [42:26] and you're going to keep it as an [42:27] investment and then go and spend the [42:29] money on a gt350 [42:31] and drive that because that car has a [42:33] lot of the specialness [42:34] of the s2000 specifically great engine [42:36] good gear yes no it's amazing [42:38] uh long block for ten dollars hey guys [42:40] just letting you know i bought an nc [42:42] miata because of your documentary i want [42:43] to autocross any suggestions to get into [42:46] it [42:46] love your work don't overwork yourselves [42:48] and stay safe well thanks long blog [42:50] um thank you i guess do you want to [42:52] start off with just tires and alignment [42:54] and listen to people listen to people go [42:57] out there to a miata club and you're [42:58] going to get [42:59] an earful and you're probably going to [43:01] be like why did i do this [43:02] but they will tell you exactly what [43:04] works and doesn't work and it's been [43:06] the thing is with the miata is [43:08] everything that could possibly be done [43:10] has already been done to that car so [43:11] don't [43:12] reinvent the wheel you can go out to [43:13] autocross and find national drivers that [43:15] can get [43:16] a lot out of nothing and it's a [43:18] different mindset so if you're expecting [43:20] this is something we've experienced [43:22] when you have some hardcore miata set up [43:24] for autocross it makes a really shitty [43:26] street car or track car because all it [43:28] does is wants to loop [43:29] itself to be fast in an autocross the [43:31] car's got to rotate [43:32] unnaturally rotate and you've got to [43:34] figure out how to get that through these [43:36] tight corners [43:37] so by making it a great autocross car [43:39] often makes it really shitty and [43:40] unstable or ride bad on the street [43:43] and makes it like sometimes outright [43:46] dangerous on the track so [43:47] find a balance and find out what you're [43:49] happy with driving it but really [43:51] tires in an alignment are just that's so [43:53] simple and you can get a lot out of that [43:55] and your best investment is actually oh [43:58] suing yourself [43:59] so yeah you need you need real tires [44:01] autocross to have any kind of yeah [44:03] but once you start modifying the [44:04] suspension everything you know [44:06] i almost feel like now having done that [44:09] to two of my cars in the past my [44:11] my brz was you know modified and so was [44:13] my mustang [44:14] in retrospect at that age i rather spent [44:17] the money going to a driving school [44:19] or x y and z because i learned way more [44:21] at a driving school than i learned after [44:23] a certain point just auto crossing right [44:25] yeah yeah you need that that [44:27] professional help from someone who isn't [44:28] just some guy who's good at auto [44:30] crossing to get you to the next level [44:32] understanding car control and [44:33] all that other fun stuff so yeah and [44:34] this gets preachy and [44:36] you know it just depends on who you are [44:38] and where you're at in your life and [44:39] some people really like to tinker [44:41] they just want to mess with stuff just [44:42] to mess with stuff and i think for me i [44:44] went through that part and i know [44:46] exactly what i can tolerate in terms of [44:48] suspension setup on my cars i know what [44:51] will make a difference [44:52] and make a noticeable difference without [44:54] that diminishing returns [44:56] so if you take an older car and it's 20 [44:58] years old [44:59] and you have 20 year old dampers on it [45:01] let's be honest [45:02] those dampers are old technology they're [45:04] that in terms of oil it might have leaks [45:07] the steel stiction might be bad in it uh [45:09] getting a new set of dampers is going to [45:11] help that car a lot [45:12] you know so there's there's ways to [45:16] modify [45:16] by being smart and i think a lot of [45:18] people go to this extreme and get caught [45:20] up in the [45:21] like matt from obsessed garage he's like [45:23] oh dude i got to just buy this and [45:24] it's like [45:25] dude what are you doing he's just buying [45:27] it for the parts and that's fine [45:29] if you know what you're doing with that [45:30] but if you're buying parts hoping that [45:32] it's going to make some [45:34] huge like uh change in your life [45:37] it's not no and it's just you're going [45:39] to go out there and some guy with a [45:40] stock car that's rolling [45:42] all over the place is going to be faster [45:44] than you work on [45:45] the basics first and work from there uh [45:48] next question [45:50] uh from kevin c and this is actually i [45:51] like this question a lot thanks kevin [45:53] for the five dollars [45:54] do you have a top three favorite funny [45:57] comments from youtube or instagram saved [45:58] in the archive [45:59] if not all good i i don't and this is a [46:02] video that i wanted to make just as a [46:04] stupid one maybe a wednesday video [46:05] because [46:06] our viewers or obviously you guys [46:10] and girls and in between are really [46:14] amazing intelligent in a lot of ways [46:16] there's i mean if it's like anything [46:17] like social media there's going to be [46:18] like garbage can stuff but [46:20] there's a high level of perception of [46:23] reality [46:24] self-awareness sarcasm and some of these [46:27] comments are hilarious [46:29] yeah for some of these comments and i [46:31] really appreciate them even if they're [46:32] like [46:33] horrifically offensive to me or like you [46:36] know [46:36] degrading yeah they make you guys tear [46:38] us new all the time yeah [46:40] and it's amazing it is so funny you and [46:42] i will send us stuff [46:43] yeah send each other stuff and we always [46:45] laugh about it we're so lucky [46:47] yeah no and i love a great dig [46:50] that is well thought out like if you can [46:52] really think out a way to make well [46:54] not just to make fun of somebody but to [46:57] make craftfully dig at something that's [46:59] wrong [46:59] or like a problem you know that that [47:02] shows [47:02] great initiative [47:04] [Laughter] [47:07] um yeah no actually that came up while i [47:10] was at this toyota hq event so last week [47:12] i went to uh plano texas mark had to [47:15] play you know [47:16] had dad duty family responsibilities and [47:18] we can do back-to-back trips [47:20] so i went and i talked to some of the [47:21] other members of the press and even from [47:23] some of the other outlets and [47:24] shout out to matt moran motoring even he [47:27] brought up like man you guys you have a [47:29] you have an amazing viewing audience [47:31] because you you guys are funny genuinely [47:33] a better sense of humor than you than we [47:35] do mark i [47:36] i i would say that's probably the case [47:39] i i think some of it is doing this [47:43] when i started doing this i wanted a [47:45] channel [47:46] or videos that in my [47:49] sensibilities so part of making these [47:51] videos was [47:52] i subbed to savage keys and my iq went [47:55] up to 70. nice room temperature iq [47:57] yeah your credit score went up to 340. [48:00] um [48:01] i i wanted something that was like [48:05] funny and relatable and grounded in [48:07] reality [48:09] so i wanted to do that when i started [48:11] this but of course when you start trying [48:12] to do something for real or a business [48:15] you have to to kind of like scale it [48:17] back because you know [48:18] like you couldn't get away with this [48:19] in a real job i couldn't just be [48:21] like [48:22] oh you larry you know like you go [48:24] to your boss slap him on the ass [48:26] like you have to be smart about how you [48:28] make the content and i like the fact [48:30] that a lot of the viewers can come in [48:31] the comments [48:32] and say stuff that i can no longer say [48:34] tactfully so it's fun [48:37] uh next question from low strike for [48:40] five dollars [48:41] how are inventories at dealers out by [48:43] you my local chevy [48:45] had zero new cars on their lot toyota [48:47] had 10 camry's and a couple of ravs [48:49] thoughts well we started talking about [48:51] this james who works at the mazda [48:53] dealership us and he brought this up [48:54] he's like how the hell are we going to [48:56] survive [48:56] that wasn't really his comment but like [48:58] what are dealerships going to do [49:00] if they don't have cars to sell and i [49:02] mean it's the same problem that a lot of [49:04] markets are having right now with supply [49:06] and supply chain [49:07] issues um and the straight answer is [49:10] like our inventory is really low it's a [49:12] low everywhere ours is low [49:14] um i think our lots like certain [49:16] dealerships like the ones in the smaller [49:18] areas [49:18] like mchenry dude like you went by [49:21] i think it was sunny side or sun [49:23] sunshine uh [49:25] dodge i was like where i bought one of [49:27] my first cars yeah they had decimated [49:30] decimated so if you're a big dealer [49:32] you're going to survive because you're [49:33] going to get allocated more and little [49:35] dealers [49:35] like yeah yeah exactly [49:38] this is from exhaust sports auto so you [49:41] know it's going to be a good question yo [49:42] bro [49:42] should i sell my yacht for a v12 ferrari [49:45] in this market [49:47] well we have we have a lot of business [49:48] contacts you owe us favors like we just [49:51] shot [49:51] the tlx video on a helicopter yeah i [49:54] shot the [49:55] so i have a buddy who flies helicopters [49:58] and i pulled him out of some deep debt [50:00] like 25 years ago so i basically [50:03] subsidized his family [50:04] you know i helped his wife have a kid so [50:08] he owes me a lot of money so we filmed [50:12] out of his helicopter with my iphone [50:14] and uh we got some great shots it was [50:15] just incredible and he was [50:17] he couldn't say anything you know i ran [50:19] him out of fuel a couple times because i [50:20] wanted him to fly me over some of the [50:22] the local lakes [50:23] there was a beach that was near there [50:25] and there was a lot of people on the [50:26] beach and i'm like i was with my [50:27] binoculars i'm just like just hover over [50:28] here i want to have a look at [50:29] the sand and he's like dude we got to [50:31] refill again it cost him like six grand [50:33] i'm like [50:34] you know there's a lot of other things [50:35] i've done for everybody so [50:38] yeah this is only about three things [50:40] helicopters [50:41] beers boats and bands sorry four things [50:45] boats and babes and beaches [50:49] there's a place by us and i told jack [50:51] about this the other day [50:52] and it's like uh so let's preface this [50:55] you and i have come from a much [50:56] different background [50:57] and you're trying to culture me we went [50:59] to a place called wonder lake recently [51:01] not that recently a couple months ago [51:03] it's like jack i gotta take you to this [51:05] place [51:05] of course this per usual [51:07] whenever we go to a place that is [51:09] interesting we always go in a hyper [51:11] expensive car [51:12] that's not why i wanted to go there but [51:15] it just happened to be like hey we were [51:16] driving around filming in that area i'm [51:18] like dude we're right here [51:20] you've never been here before i want to [51:22] show you like [51:23] the what real people like lit like how [51:26] this area is out here so picture like [51:28] flint [51:29] uh flint michigan from like mike [51:32] whatever that documentary you know like [51:35] decimated little town no it was it's not [51:37] that bad dude it's just a world [51:39] it's not robocop's detroit but it wasn't [51:40] great it's not like an industrial it's [51:42] just a small like rural town [51:44] in the town where that they would call [51:45] me the oriental like that kind of thing [51:47] yeah exactly so [51:48] you drive in and there was an outdoor [51:50] wrestling match and of course this guy [51:51] and i are this lc convertible [51:53] looking like two douche bags yeah do you [51:55] have that picture uh [51:57] uh let me find it uh yeah so like i'm [52:00] like jack you just have to see this to [52:01] understand the area that we live in [52:03] and it's not a negative thing it's just [52:05] the reality that [52:07] you know we get in this zone of the [52:10] things that we do [52:11] and you you lose connection with the [52:13] people around you a lot of times [52:15] and like we know i've know people that [52:19] have lived there and [52:20] it's one of those you live in this town [52:22] and you don't get out and the people [52:23] like jesus i'm never gonna get out of [52:25] this town i went to school with them and [52:26] i'm like dude [52:27] they taught me early on in my teenage [52:29] years i'm like i can't do this [52:31] i can't do this dude i'm like i'm not [52:33] gonna be that i'm not gonna do that [52:35] and i don't i it's so crazy to me [52:40] that people like this stuff is like [52:43] going on still [52:44] and that's all that's like that's the [52:46] main and this answers our question about [52:48] why he should sell his yacht [52:50] why for a v12 ferrari right like getting [52:52] this back to [52:53] exhaust sports autos questions sorry [52:55] yeah [52:57] all right we'll go to the next question [53:00] just sell your yacht [53:01] buy a couple ferraris yeah uh dominic [53:04] mitri thank you for the five dollars [53:07] uh uh ecorp [53:10] for ten dollars what are your thoughts [53:12] on the cts ct [53:14] 5v blackwing for find hellcat fun m5 or [53:18] something else also [53:19] why can we get the cattle why can the [53:21] cadillac have a manual but not the [53:22] corvette [53:24] all right mark tell me you're a caddy [53:26] man uh [53:29] it's a good question yeah i know you've [53:32] given like [53:32] zero percent thought right when that [53:34] thing was being released i [53:36] messaged you the cadillac's not met [53:37] engine yeah i know i mean obviously [53:40] the first part of it what do you think [53:41] about the car is it exciting that gm [53:42] made a manual v8 [53:44] every time cadillac makes a v8 rear [53:47] wheel drive car [53:48] everybody's excited for five minutes and [53:50] no one buys it yeah and then it [53:52] we we have it on the channel like five [53:53] years later when the car is like 25 000 [53:56] and you're like wow that's a pretty good [53:57] deal i mean they they could have [54:01] the thing is the reason why they [54:03] couldn't fit a manual trans and the [54:04] the vet is just they didn't want to [54:06] spend the money to package it there's no [54:08] return for them to do it with the [54:10] cadillac it's [54:11] it's the only thing that's going to get [54:12] it to sell yeah a differentiator [54:15] i had this conversation with you about [54:16] supra and a couple other [54:18] cars and i got in disagreement with the [54:19] journalists so sports cars exist [54:22] for brands particularly brands that [54:24] bread and butter is in sports cars like [54:26] toyota [54:27] to get people excited and go to their [54:29] dealership that's just a marketing tool [54:31] so for cars like that [54:33] um the corvette they sell so many of [54:35] them they're gonna sell them with an [54:36] automatic or without one [54:38] so it doesn't really matter but smaller [54:39] boutique cars i think it makes sense to [54:41] have a manual option [54:42] because this is a pr win you can't [54:44] advertise it so i'm sure that's what [54:46] cadillac is doing it's like look [54:47] not only did we build a super sedan we [54:49] built one with the manual and then no [54:50] one's going to buy it with a manual [54:52] but i think that's why they did that [54:53] well yeah i mean some of it's probably a [54:56] test [54:57] you know to see what the market is since [54:59] there's not a lot of manuals left maybe [55:00] the take rate will be higher [55:02] i don't know i mean personally it's i [55:05] need to drive it like that's [55:06] i don't get excited for cars until i [55:07] drive them and the take right [55:09] to his uh his point for the corvette was [55:12] abysmal [55:13] i had to fly i live we live in the [55:15] midwest and when i bought my corvette [55:16] new i had to fly all the way to new [55:18] jersey to find [55:20] one with a manual and you would want it [55:22] you didn't want just a regular [55:24] poor man c8 or c7 you had to have the [55:26] grand [55:28] the grandy sport but you know what i [55:30] mean like the take rate was so low [55:32] yeah so and now people would kill for [55:35] that car yeah those cars have gone up in [55:37] value like crazy for no real reason [55:39] uh will matt for five dollars thank you [55:41] will what's the best high performance [55:43] suv [55:44] with the germans and without the germans [55:48] huh so what's that suv my brain just [55:52] went blank uh so what's the best high [55:54] performance suv [55:56] probably a porsche or porsche [55:59] thanks for stroking yeah i agree yeah i [56:00] mean what else what you got to go to [56:02] like the [56:02] see the thing is all the best performing [56:04] suvs are on the same [56:06] architecture so it's the same car mlb [56:08] evo [56:09] yeah so it's like the eris the what is [56:12] it the [56:13] cayenne sq7 sq7 [56:16] is different because that's a three row [56:18] personally if it was me [56:20] i would have an sq7 500 horsepower [56:23] ton of space great v8 great v8 great [56:27] transmission it just doesn't look all [56:28] that great [56:29] so that's your best usable one and then [56:31] you get into like the dodge piles like [56:33] the durango [56:35] and the hellcat that would be amazing [56:37] the i will say the durango hellcat [56:40] yes if you drove it like you were going [56:42] to go to jail like literally doing 100 [56:44] miles an hour in a 55 zone driving like [56:46] an everywhere like you have no [56:47] penis [56:48] just totally trying to get you trying to [56:50] grow a penis [56:53] then it's it's incredible you can drive [56:55] that thing like a baboon [56:56] and it's so satisfying it's the most fun [57:00] but it's also a total piece of well [57:02] i i wouldn't say it's a piece of [57:03] but i mean it's like [57:04] it's in a different class of vehicles [57:06] karen my girlfriend got into this thing [57:08] and you were [57:09] we were in your driveway we were talking [57:10] about like why the hell would you buy [57:12] this thing and you and i are like [57:13] giggling like idiots well i don't know [57:16] that it's it's definitely a testosterone [57:18] infused and that's what makes it fun and [57:20] different i mean [57:21] every other like we talked about if you [57:23] want a performance suv you're trapped in [57:24] that german web [57:26] yeah something from bw right [57:28] because the x3m isn't good [57:29] that's too stiff uh the stelvio is [57:32] interesting but it's never going to work [57:34] yeah right you're going to be getting [57:35] that thing fixed a lot the quadriplegic [57:37] yeah the x5m [57:40] that's probably pushing one of the [57:42] better ones too but it doesn't have the [57:44] personality i don't think [57:45] i i don't know i mean i can't believe [57:48] we're talking about this dude [57:49] performance suvs apex i mean but there's [57:51] so many now like you [57:53] you talk about the rdx for a suv that's [57:56] sporty [57:57] under 50 000 is the best driving yeah [58:00] it's amazing [58:01] and it like you think about these cars [58:03] and i [58:04] had this problem with the tlx when we [58:06] drove at the type s i'm like you know [58:08] back seats are small not that i put [58:11] anything what do you like 75 years old [58:12] but the back seats are too small [58:15] you're like my dad the acoustics of this [58:16] cabin yeah i can't listen to my master's [58:19] subpar the reflections off the [58:22] hard plastic and the upper dashes [58:24] beneath me [58:26] no i'm just sitting there driving this [58:27] thing i'm like i just could use a lot [58:28] more space and i'm like why i don't put [58:30] anything here [58:32] and that's that's what's happening you [58:34] know that's that's the reality [58:36] well this guy gets hot in bothering when [58:37] he sees minivans the pacifica s [58:39] i have kind of i've cooled off to that [58:41] recently you were the biggest boner over [58:43] those things [58:44] when we went to the gladiator launch i'm [58:45] like oh man oh god i mean [58:47] let's be real would you get more excited [58:49] about pacifica s or a gladiator and for [58:51] me it's like i'd rather be in the [58:52] minivan [58:55] um all right sentience psn thank you [58:58] very much for the five dollars [59:00] master the hell's that [59:03] mikeder miketer for five dollars thank [59:05] you very much [59:06] use trucks what's going on crazier than [59:10] insane used cars prices i will have to [59:12] expect to pay [59:13] 28 000 or more for a used tacoma with 90 [59:16] 000 miles yeah it said [59:18] uh greg just in the chat he posted [59:21] his uh offer on his forerunner and it [59:23] was like crazy [59:24] like his offer for it was like really [59:27] high and the thing's like five years old [59:28] i mean this is what's happening so [59:30] if you have to get a car you're [59:33] basically stuck buying one [59:34] you're gonna eat right now i mean [59:36] if you can wait if you have something [59:38] you want to sell and sell it and then [59:40] stuff the money for when prices come [59:41] back down to earth [59:42] that's what i would do but i wouldn't be [59:44] actively trying to buy something [59:46] yeah that's again that's what i told her [59:49] sisters like don't buy right now just [59:50] hold on to the tucson [59:51] yeah so next question for united newbies [59:55] what's the most reliable fun luxury [59:57] sports car under 30 to 70 thousand [59:59] dollars that's a huge range [60:00] what do you mean by msrp is too high [60:11] oh man dude that's 30 to 70 is a [60:14] big big price yeah you're looking at [60:16] like the [60:17] uh i think you're looking at the [60:18] quadrifoglio you're looking out he said [60:21] reliable oh reliable and fun you can [60:24] count alfa romeo out immediately yeah [60:26] well yeah [60:27] i mean fun probably g70 [60:30] g uh g80 is not all that great [60:34] um f80 m3 with the warranty final manual [60:37] final years that car is great here's my [60:39] choice [60:40] and i'm not a bmw person but that's it [60:42] let's just leave it at that f80 m3 [60:44] manual transmission just get the crank [60:45] up issue fixed and it's pretty bomb [60:47] proof [60:48] and then just put seven thousand pound [60:50] lowering springs on [60:51] that that drop you buy make sure it's [60:53] white yeah make sure it's white [60:54] yup with some type of like matte wrapped [60:57] panels or something carbon fiber [60:59] splitter [61:00] just go full slav mode yeah only play [61:02] eurobeat yeah subwoofer mounted on the [61:04] exterior of the car [61:06] um hopefully that answers your honestly [61:08] the new fa the f80 generation bmws [61:11] are pretty reliable and they're way more [61:13] fun than like a gsf [61:15] you're good oh yeah i mean the gsf is [61:17] like they're that's [61:18] you're going to pay up the ass for a gsf [61:20] we were talking about that the other day [61:21] i'm like that's like a 60 70 [61:23] 000 car i'm sorry like i was in the [61:25] market for one i'm like nah [61:27] not paying that kind of money for it i [61:28] mean it's a great car it's gonna last [61:30] forever yeah that car was forty thousand [61:31] dollars [61:32] sorry tell me about isf prices they are [61:34] insane right now [61:35] for no reason right now but that's every [61:37] car [61:38] like i mean that's the thing is [61:39] everything's inflated so it's like yeah [61:42] not happening yeah one of our [61:45] our viewers said gsf or f-80 i'm like i [61:47] agree with you the motor sounds way [61:49] better in the gsf but [61:51] objectively if you strip away the engine [61:53] can't you get an f-80 for cheaper than a [61:55] gsf right yeah you can [61:56] so that's that's the thing if you're [61:57] looking for the here and now not to keep [61:59] you know you have it for three years [62:00] with a warranty you're gonna have a lot [62:02] more fun with the f-80 [62:03] but if you can get a gsf which you're [62:05] not gonna find one for like a reasonable [62:07] price [62:08] i mean unless all you're doing is [62:10] cruising and you want that v8 and you [62:12] want the toyota alexis reliability but [62:14] if you want to go out and have fun [62:15] you're gonna have way more fun [62:16] you're not gonna take a juice off to [62:17] attractive no you're not you're [62:19] definitely [62:20] not and someone mentioned 2016 is no [62:23] different than the 2020 [62:24] yes and no they did do running [62:26] reliability changes to the [62:28] uh gsf you said what year do they have [62:29] diff problems no that was the rc [62:32] the original torsions and the rcfs had [62:35] problems and then they fixed it later [62:37] the gsfs really didn't have that much [62:39] changes other than the suspension [62:41] i think i did a video on the 2019 the [62:44] only gsf video i have i talk about the [62:46] running changes that they made and i [62:47] think it was like suspension tuning [62:49] because that's what they mostly evolve [62:50] larry lampshade for five dollars what [62:52] are your thoughts on the haldex [62:53] all-wheel drive systems golf r seems to [62:55] check a lot of boxes for me [62:57] but i'm concerned about it being so [62:58] front wheel drive centric i am not [63:00] a vw person at all i'm not a golf person [63:04] but i appreciate the golf r it is way [63:07] better than the gti [63:08] because it gives you that ability to [63:10] just stop [63:12] terminally understeering when you're [63:13] driving like a dick it doesn't [63:16] completely remove it but it makes it at [63:18] least [63:18] 50 to 75 percent better so if you want [63:21] better dynamics you get the golf r and [63:23] you'll be happy you did it [63:24] um and i drove the out of both [63:26] those cars you can't get rid of the [63:28] understeer stuff with the golf r but the [63:30] only time you're gonna notice it is like [63:31] in an autocross does it feel super front [63:33] wheel drivey [63:34] in in autocross when you're in a tight [63:36] stuff but when you're on a real [63:37] road back roads or like you're not gonna [63:40] take it to a track but [63:41] anything that's not like oh i'm turning [63:43] over the wheel [63:44] if you're just making subtle turns [63:45] sweepers like regular road stuff it's [63:47] amazing to drive you feel like you're [63:49] god in it [63:50] it is a very competent system it is and [63:52] the extra horsepower helps it just [63:54] it's a great car all the way around it [63:56] just obviously to me that's not my style [63:58] of car it's too [63:59] uh plain vanilla for me is it better or [64:02] worse in the system that's in the sh [64:03] all-wheel drive [64:05] because that's another front-wheel drive [64:06] based uh all-wheel drive system that's [64:09] similar [64:10] the acid the sh is better because you [64:12] have a torque vectoring differential so [64:14] you can [64:14] send power to the left or the right [64:16] where the hell decks can't [64:18] it can't do that to that level you know [64:21] you're dealing with wet clutches instead [64:22] of having a clutch and a [64:24] you know be able to send power to each [64:26] wheel like in the sage so the sh [64:28] feels can feel way more rear-wheel drive [64:31] in some cases [64:32] than the hell decks can but again it [64:34] depends on how you drive if you're not a [64:36] monkey [64:37] you might not never notice it yeah if [64:38] you're not genuinely going [64:40] flat out rj cam for five dollars mark [64:43] what model number of your ray-bans [64:45] what's the model number of your ray-ban [64:46] frames [64:47] i have no idea uh i'll look and write [64:50] tell you right now if [64:51] there's even anything on here [64:55] well i honestly i don't know [64:58] but they're carbon one of the carbon [65:01] frames [65:01] so there's probably only like a handful [65:03] of them just [65:05] take a picture and take it in your eye [65:09] glassware and what i told you i'll tell [65:11] you another story about [65:12] gregart this is classic and i'm sorry [65:15] nobody knows who he is but uh guy's [65:17] amazing he needed glasses [65:19] so he went into i think the lens [65:21] crafters it doesn't matter oh is this [65:22] the story that i'm thinking yeah [65:24] so he's like getting fitted for his is [65:26] like getting fitted and [65:28] she's like oh have you thought about [65:30] frames do you have any designers you'd [65:32] like and he's like [65:33] yeah i want to try the jeffrey dahmer's [65:36] she's like oh i don't think we have [65:37] those [65:38] it's she goes and asks her manager and [65:40] then she didn't come back [65:41] and then the manager the dude came over [65:43] and helped him because he thought he was [65:45] a total [65:46] serial killer [65:49] obviously he wasn't serious he was just [65:50] being sarcastic but it didn't go over [65:52] while i'm like some 19 year old girl [65:58] yeah so all right next question [66:02] uh mopar 92 for 20 dollars since [66:05] stolantis has [66:06] given all the former fca brand 10 years [66:08] to figure themselves out [66:10] do you think the next pile from dodge [66:11] will be a performance suv or can we [66:13] finally see the next generation of [66:14] charger and challengers [66:16] i don't know i honestly i don't know [66:18] either i don't know that that's a tough [66:20] one for me dude i think [66:22] um i think they were originally gonna do [66:26] it on the alpha platform and now [66:28] you thought that they were gonna scrap [66:30] it i had heard rumors [66:32] from stalantis internally and i can't [66:35] verify this and [66:37] uh but something about the julia [66:39] platform not being able to be [66:41] fully e-vehified [66:44] or is hurting the chances of them moving [66:47] the charger challenger to that [66:48] architecture [66:49] so i don't actually know also if you [66:51] think about it [66:53] from the viewer's perspective and just [66:55] internally we know how company [66:56] corporate cultures work now you're [66:58] adding the french [67:00] italians and americans all work together [67:02] on a global platform [67:03] i have no idea what they're gonna offer [67:05] but you know that project's gonna be a [67:07] nightmare [67:08] i don't know what they're gonna do and [67:10] frankly i stopped caring [67:12] i mean yeah a little bit i feel like [67:14] they they've delayed the inevitable for [67:16] so long [67:17] when they talked about the challenger [67:18] and charger getting updated [67:21] they they like we're not gonna do it [67:22] because we're not ready to do it [67:24] we can't do it like they've had a long [67:27] time to evolve their stuff and they've [67:28] chosen [67:29] to stick with what works and even when [67:31] we talk to the engineers they're like [67:33] well you know we're different and we're [67:36] gonna stick with what we're good at [67:38] but now the hellcat motor is no longer [67:40] emissions compliant [67:41] and you and i both love hellcat powered [67:44] stellantis vehicles [67:45] they're incredible they're right they [67:47] they're able to do certain things [67:48] amazing and [67:50] i wouldn't trade it for anything once [67:51] you strip that away but from a business [67:53] perspective when you don't evolve your [67:55] products [67:56] outside of that box or you either i [67:59] don't know what it is i don't know if [68:00] it's money it's management it's [68:02] called corporate culture that's blocking [68:04] it but they [68:05] they should have evolved into a [68:07] different framework by now and we [68:09] haven't seen it [68:10] so i don't know what they're going to do [68:11] i'm sure they're going to have they're [68:13] going to like they said they're going to [68:14] ev everything [68:15] how they do that good luck [68:18] you know what i mean yeah they're making [68:20] brand images [68:22] horsepower loud va yeah you know [68:25] why people love their cars i i think [68:28] they're going to have a soul-searching [68:30] identity crisis here really shortly [68:32] and it's not for the lack of trying the [68:34] new durango interior is great [68:36] no they're updated i mean i will give [68:39] them that [68:40] it's just in terms of the costly stuff [68:42] they they were going to move the [68:44] chargers and challengers to that alpha [68:46] platform that was the plan and [68:47] they put it off they like they had that [68:49] opportunity like five or six years ago [68:51] so i i don't know i don't know what [68:53] their long-term game is [68:55] and again i think it's suvs like every [68:57] brand oh yeah i mean if they can ev [68:59] a ram or ev some of their suvs [69:03] i don't think that's a problem but are [69:05] they going to be able to do that do they [69:06] have the resources to do that [69:09] most of the other brands are already [69:10] tied up within exclusivity contracts on [69:12] battery packs [69:13] all that other stuff and i haven't heard [69:15] anything about them doing that yeah but [69:17] either that's not ideal for them but [69:19] oh well moving on sadly uh five windows [69:22] for 11 54. thank you five windows thank [69:25] you five windows [69:26] overall do you find mid-engine [69:28] performance car suspension more refined [69:29] than front engine equivalents [69:31] i've heard this due to the fact that [69:32] there's more space for better suspension [69:34] components around the wheels true or not [69:37] well there's one that comes to mind that [69:39] didn't [69:40] that was the 4c they ran out of room in [69:42] the [69:44] i can't remember it was the front the [69:46] front they ran out of room in the front [69:47] suspension to do [69:49] the geometry the way that they wanted um [69:52] i think packaging wise it's harder to do [69:55] suspension [69:56] in a mid-engine car because you have [69:58] less room in the back [70:00] and you have all the weight to manage so [70:01] that's an expensive platform to do [70:03] because you can't scale out a med engine [70:05] car [70:06] engine cars that dynamically are better [70:07] than front engine cars technically yeah [70:10] yeah i mean they should be if they're [70:11] done right do you think they ride better [70:14] as a general rule [70:15] the problem is all mid-engine cars other [70:16] than the c8 well we don't have [70:18] mainstream mid-engine cars [70:20] you know all we have is sports car [70:21] mid-engine cars so like how do you judge [70:24] that against [70:24] like if you had a mid-engine luxury car [70:27] versus a mid-engine [70:28] like sports car or the equivalent i mean [70:31] we don't have a basis for comparison [70:34] yeah i'm not talking about like ferraris [70:36] and like that you know like the [70:38] bigger ferraris and [70:40] sports cars are like what sport that [70:42] this that 718 still sports car i don't [70:44] know [70:45] yeah i don't the i don't either i know [70:48] for example [70:49] like kinematically like the the gt3 is [70:51] something i had to do a lot of homework [70:52] on for upcoming project [70:54] they doubled the spring rates because [70:55] they could go to double wishbone but [70:57] double wishbone isn't [70:59] inherently found on all cars that are [71:01] mid-engined [71:02] well most of them are but like the seven [71:06] or the seven one eight isn't it the 4c [71:08] isn't and the 718 isn't either right [71:10] so anyway yeah i don't i don't have a [71:13] straight answer i would say [71:14] you can make any car ride properly would [71:16] mid engine make it better [71:19] maybe maybe if you if we had [71:22] if you had the money to do it i think [71:24] anything's possible trent schaefer for [71:26] five dollars are you guys planning on [71:28] reviewing a buick regal tour x [71:30] if so i hope so i thought about buying [71:32] ones a daily a buick doesn't have them [71:34] in the fleet anymore [71:35] i don't i know one person with one and [71:38] you know [71:38] it is his daily driver it's not like i'm [71:40] gonna ask him for the car to do a video [71:41] on i have spent time in the buick regal [71:43] tourx [71:44] it has it's not bad because it's not you [71:47] know [71:47] i view it i think it's great yeah it's [71:50] just in america [71:51] like people don't care about wagons like [71:53] they do every well not everywhere else [71:55] but [71:56] it's not a big hot segment here so you [71:58] don't see a lot of them but i thought [71:59] they that was a good direction for them [72:02] yes but again it's [72:03] like you we always joke around about the [72:05] whole wagon thing is like everybody says [72:07] they want it and then [72:08] they never buy it yeah and this has come [72:11] up a couple times here it's like why do [72:12] journalists love wagons and i've talked [72:14] to you about this [72:15] i don't think i get it because i don't [72:17] like suvs i don't like big buildings and [72:19] it gives me the space [72:20] of an suv with the most of the dynamics [72:23] of a sedan that's because it's that no [72:25] compromise thing [72:27] but you know you're right if you want a [72:29] hauler most people are just going to be [72:30] like what has the most space and they're [72:32] going to get an suv [72:32] i think it didn't used to be that way i [72:34] think this has you have to put things in [72:36] perspective of [72:37] we didn't have all the choices in suvs [72:40] like 10 years ago it's not [72:41] like it is today where you have the some [72:43] of the best products or suvs [72:45] because they put so much money in them [72:47] before if you wanted a really good [72:49] hauler you had to get a wagon because [72:50] they were [72:51] developed they were cars it was easier [72:53] to make now it's not so much the case [72:55] you have better choices in the suv world [72:57] than you do in the wagons and [72:59] i mean i don't know would you rather [73:02] have more it depends on what you want [73:03] you want more performance you want more [73:04] space [73:05] and in a hauler what's better and i [73:08] think [73:08] most of the people are going to choose [73:09] more space um [73:11] oh so andy the lamb joe and deb say [73:14] hello [73:15] hi andy and joe hi [73:18] deb and their dogs say hello to you not [73:20] me so we visited them in person [73:23] let's talk about this uh they are a very [73:25] nice [73:26] couple who made us dinner and the food [73:28] was excellent yeah until i was sick for [73:30] the next week [73:31] she ground up the dog's food and put it [73:34] in my food [73:34] and she was hoping that i would [73:36] transform into a dog person and it [73:38] didn't happen [73:39] uh my so i have two dogs mark is not a [73:42] dog person i very much so [73:44] am and watching abby and andy [73:47] absolutely savage you every chance they [73:51] got [73:51] was amazing abby mauled me [73:55] bit me scratched me scratched me every [73:57] place i came home with like [73:59] scars on me i had to get plastic surgery [74:02] on my muscles [74:04] those dogs were beasts that's because [74:07] that's the typical smell of fear [74:09] they they knew that i was not like all [74:11] into them [74:12] so it was like oh who's this cool dude [74:15] that doesn't want me [74:16] so they want me even more and if i did [74:20] that to a cat [74:21] that would be the same thing you ignore [74:22] a cat they're like oh this guy's cool [74:25] so anyway yeah are you a real fawns type [74:27] i'm a real fonz guy [74:29] with especially with a feline i love [74:31] those pictures where it's like some [74:33] little kid holding some like 500 pound [74:35] cat like this and it's just like [74:37] oh but yeah andy and joe are [74:40] or andy i keep calling andy deb the [74:43] curator of andy and abby uh get [74:47] nasty on their uh channel they are [74:50] the best people in the world i give them [74:53] a 10 out of 10. [74:54] you know right people now yeah that's it [74:56] we're gonna be we're gonna do people [74:57] reviews after this [74:59] um long block again for five dollars on [75:02] long block thank you for the donation [75:04] uh nissan z's date is getting closer and [75:06] closer do you think it'll be up there [75:07] with the m2 in terms of specialness to [75:09] drive [75:11] i don't know probably not [75:15] i mean i mean we're [75:18] we're supposed to do uh i mean maybe [75:21] maybe and it's like time [75:22] we're supposed to do a z retrospective [75:25] of all the z cars and then launching the [75:27] 400 or whatever it is yeah so we have [75:30] that [75:30] worked on with toyota or not toyota [75:32] nissan and their their game for it [75:34] it's just time i i don't know what how [75:37] else i can [75:38] pull more time out of my ass and when [75:39] you tell me that it's like oh that [75:41] sounds great yeah maybe like five years [75:43] ago when i had nothing to do but [75:45] pick my nose like i thought about this [75:47] recently imagine doing the miata [75:48] documentary again [75:49] oh god it wouldn't happen i mean it [75:51] would i would not i'd be like dude i'm [75:53] done after the first day [75:55] i'd be like i'm out of here dude i can't [75:56] do this [75:58] so i don't know it's anyway it's about [76:01] the car [76:02] the car is gonna be good and it's going [76:05] to be affordable [76:06] i'm just kind of waiting to see how they [76:08] put the manual trans [76:10] all that power and how they manage it i [76:13] think it's going to be [76:15] probably crazy it's going to be like a [76:17] tire like [76:19] annihilation machine yeah if it doesn't [76:21] have real [76:22] rear tires it i want it to be like the [76:25] uh [76:26] the base mustang gts where they come on [76:27] 235's [76:30] i don't know i think it's going to be [76:31] really good because the motor makes so [76:33] much power [76:35] that car is going to be a rocket yeah [76:36] and it's got a i mean it's double [76:38] wishbone [76:38] yeah i mean it's an evolution of what [76:40] they had before with a manual so i think [76:42] people are going to be like [76:43] yeah people are going to eat that car up [76:45] and in many ways if it's good [76:47] it's going to hurt toyota on their 86. [76:48] and this is a question that's been asked [76:49] a bunch of times what do you think the [76:50] new 86 [76:51] we talked about it briefly in the [76:52] beginning i wrote in one mark did not [76:56] you know if you look at the numbers it's [76:58] basically an evolution of what's [76:59] currently in the market and they've [77:00] solved some of the problems so if you [77:01] like the car as it is today [77:03] you're getting the same thing but just [77:05] well what is it is like 25 [77:07] better than the last one i didn't drive [77:09] it uh but i mean like overall [77:10] what do you think is it like 25 better [77:13] okay [77:14] the the motor alone having torque and to [77:16] come down lower in the rpm band [77:20] it's a big deal big deal it still sounds [77:22] like a garbage can though [77:23] well that's what do you expect um [77:26] next question uh will there be an audi [77:29] tt video [77:31] uh or review in the future and this is [77:33] for ecorp for two dollars [77:35] uh if probably maybe unlikely unless a [77:39] viewer gave us one [77:41] we're never getting one from audi i [77:43] would love to do a ttrs [77:45] five cylinder turbo high horsepower [77:48] you know haldex weird car they just [77:50] killed that guard yeah i know that's why [77:51] we'll never get one all right [77:53] so unless it's a viewer i would love to [77:54] do a video on it i think it's a neat car [77:56] but unlikely matt from patreon said i [77:59] have a 370z i use about three [78:01] track days a year i've done the diff oil [78:04] cooler and a few other mods the last [78:05] thing i'm missing to get it ready to be [78:06] around the track is a big brake kit [78:08] it's a large investment with the 400 z [78:10] coming out i'm considering waiting and [78:12] upgrading to that car [78:13] any thoughts on whether the upgrade to [78:14] the upgrade the brakes and stick with [78:17] the 370 or upgrade to a 400 in a year [78:20] just do pads and rotors for now [78:23] kill the pads on rotors every time you [78:25] go out in the brake fluid [78:26] and wait because of uh like you said a [78:29] brake a big brake kit's going to cost [78:30] you about a good one [78:32] it's like a 3 000 a 3500 investment [78:35] so just do the pads and rotors for the [78:37] three track days a year [78:39] and then see where you're at in the 400 [78:41] z probably with a real set of tires [78:43] it'll be faster than the car he's [78:44] currently oh yeah for sure well it's the [78:46] engine a lot [78:46] that's what i mean yeah and you get the [78:48] same basically architecture [78:50] so what you like about your car plus [78:52] another at least hundred dollars [78:54] yeah all that other fun stuff it's gonna [78:56] be a much much better car uh calvin w [78:58] for ten dollars [79:00] ignoring the subaru outback the only [79:03] wagons available in canada [79:05] cpo or vw audi mercedes and volvo [79:08] do you you have opinions on which brand [79:10] would outlive their warranties the [79:12] longest [79:13] yikes volvo i would never buy your car [79:16] without a warranty i would never buy a [79:17] volvo [79:18] you're weak yeah this guy oh my volvo [79:21] was fine to replace [79:22] the head super trigger i replaced the [79:24] whole car [79:26] oh that's that's the key with the vulva [79:28] right if you get a warranty you actually [79:29] get a new car [79:30] because they just replace everything [79:32] yeah you or by 150 [79:33] 000 miles everything's new that's [79:35] assuming they want to fix it that's the [79:37] other problem [79:38] what about vw audi mercedes out of those [79:40] two mercedes or vw audi group [79:42] vw i would too yeah vw audi there you go [79:46] get a a6 wagon or anything yeah [79:48] something that's [79:49] produced that's shared across a large [79:52] amount of vehicles is always a better [79:54] bet [79:54] the more esoteric and the more like uh [79:58] you know unshared it is the lot more [80:00] parts cost all that crap [80:02] and we got a couple questions about why [80:04] we didn't do a video today and it's [80:05] because we ran [80:06] out of time you know it's bad when i [80:10] can't get something out [80:12] i think it's just it's got to that point [80:14] now where and we get the car to be fair [80:16] the car we got that we've been reviewing [80:17] is [80:19] weirdly with certain brands they'll just [80:21] tell us we're getting something [80:22] last minute literally days before and [80:24] it's a take it or leave it opportunity [80:26] the tlx is a prime example of that they [80:29] told us we were going to get it they [80:30] didn't tell us one and then it showed [80:32] up and you can't say no no you can't say [80:35] no [80:35] so that's friday's video the tlx type us [80:38] and then what are we doing for monday [80:40] like okay so we're going on a what are [80:42] we doing this week we're going to [80:44] road atlanta to shoot a part of our [80:46] documentary with porsche [80:47] so we're doing the gt3 stuff the 992 [80:51] so we leave on what tuesday or wednesday [80:53] wednesday so we leave wednesday morning [80:56] we go there we film wednesday night [81:00] wednesday thursday all day fly back [81:03] friday [81:03] have a car that's two cars that are [81:05] sitting here we have to film a car in [81:07] two days [81:08] so i have a video to release matt was [81:09] supposed to drop off an is350 f sport [81:11] today oh that never happened [81:12] did it get pushed off i have no idea did [81:14] you push it off i don't know i don't [81:16] remember nothing i gotta call matt [81:17] but anyway i mean anyway so we're gonna [81:19] come back from a trip [81:21] and i have to literally come back from a [81:23] trip drive a car [81:25] film a car in like one day and then edit [81:28] it [81:28] so i don't i work weekend so does mark [81:31] mark's [81:32] got more family obligations than i have [81:33] so i can i can pull the seven days thing [81:35] but [81:36] put this in perspective every week [81:39] for the next month and a half one of us [81:42] will be traveling for work [81:44] every week there's a bronco launch [81:46] coming up we're doing this thing [81:48] uh what the hell are we doing next we're [81:50] doing oh and then we have big projects [81:52] but thankfully for our viewers [81:53] if you like cars the car quality of [81:56] what's coming out [81:57] has increased exponentially [82:00] yeah and so the byproduct of this [82:02] personally is [82:04] work it's it's a drudgery so in order to [82:07] do this [82:08] play this game but now we have the [82:10] corporate stuff [82:11] which is a whole other yeah which we're [82:13] not going to get into yeah we can't get [82:15] into that but the corporate stuff isn't [82:16] a massive amount of pressure [82:18] because you have to you know it has to [82:20] be amazing it's no joke yeah [82:22] this isn't just your own personal thing [82:24] this is somebody else's stuff [82:25] so you have that then you have the [82:27] obligation to feed the beast which is [82:28] what i call it [82:29] and you have to feed it you have to or [82:32] you get killed on it [82:34] and it has to be good it has to still [82:36] follow what you're trying to do [82:38] you have to make people happy with it [82:40] and then your love for what you're doing [82:42] starts to dissipate [82:43] so i mean this is peak for me for the [82:46] next two weeks i was thinking about [82:47] driving here [82:48] so we are doing the gt3 which that video [82:51] and we're doing a 991.1 and then 1.2 [82:54] like documentary yeah [82:55] it's the past two generations of the gt3 [82:58] and the brand new one [82:59] yes and the cop car stuff and it'll be [83:01] like the lfa video [83:02] you're getting the head of 911 to be on [83:05] camera patrick long [83:06] lead keen the cars are going up in the [83:09] air it's a full technical retrospective [83:11] it's not just it's cool and it's fast [83:13] this is a real video and it's a [83:15] nightmare too and not getting paid to do [83:17] it and we're doing it for free [83:18] we're probably gonna lose money doing [83:20] this yeah so at least in our time [83:22] and on top of actually all the money [83:25] associated with going all these places [83:27] flying blah blah blah blah blah but [83:29] you're getting that video and then once [83:31] we come back from this [83:32] we have an e63s wagon and a 911 turbo s [83:37] then the week after that we get a mark 8 [83:40] gti one of the pre-production euro spec [83:43] cars [83:43] then the week after that we have a [83:46] right up your alley we get one of the [83:48] only mugen [83:49] civic type r's in the united states [83:52] built by the supplier from eugene japan [83:54] it's a from king and we get a original [83:58] mugen-specked [84:00] uh integra type r that's all this month [84:03] yeah there's a lot of cars [84:04] and there's not enough time in the day [84:07] so [84:08] you know like it's hard to try to [84:11] do the stuff and be in the moment [84:13] because like [84:14] obviously the people that are watching [84:15] this if you're into cars you have this [84:17] in your mindset what your dreams would [84:19] be [84:20] and right now i'm literally getting to [84:22] live [84:23] the dream of me 15 years ago getting [84:25] access to all these cars [84:27] but i'm no longer enjoying the access [84:29] because it's the pressure because if i [84:31] told you 15 years ago like me yeah [84:33] 15 years ago it was like 10 but yeah [84:34] right yeah you were like you weren't [84:36] even [84:36] born yet but you know if you told me in [84:40] high school like jack you get to meet [84:41] patrick long [84:42] you're going to interview him and then [84:44] you're going to get to drive a gt3 [84:45] by yourself at rhode alana chasing [84:48] patrick long [84:49] it's a dream and all you oh you and i [84:51] are thinking about oh we got to get [84:53] on a plane [84:53] yeah no it's it's not just that it's [84:55] like you have to do a good job [84:57] you know like it's the pressure that i [84:58] have on myself not to [85:00] to to do this stuff and to to evolve [85:03] it's got to be [85:04] great yeah it's it's got to be good and [85:06] that's the only way to survive in this [85:08] game that we're trying to do [85:10] to making free stuff that people [85:12] continue to watch [85:13] and like the subscriber thing it's [85:16] really starting to get [85:17] i i've always said this the subscriber [85:18] number i don't care about [85:20] but to see the numbers so bad means that [85:24] i have to ask because people are not [85:26] doing it or [85:27] we've maxed out that small amount of [85:29] people you know we're a very [85:30] niche group of people who are willing to [85:32] sit through a [85:33] 20 40 15 minute video about engineering [85:36] right yeah no you're right [85:38] so it's hard though i need those numbers [85:40] to improve [85:41] to continue that algorithm to keep [85:43] showing the content [85:45] and then when we go to do these projects [85:47] you have to have the numbers [85:49] to be like we want to do something big [85:51] for you for this company we're not [85:52] asking for money we want to showcase [85:54] this we want to tell a story give us the [85:56] people that made it give us the access [85:58] and they're like [85:58] well you only had a 100 subscribers this [86:02] month [86:02] you know like that's the that [86:04] you're up against in this game [86:06] and obviously we have a large body of [86:07] work now it's not as big of a deal as it [86:09] used to be [86:10] but those numbers are more important to [86:12] the business than they are to me [86:13] personally [86:14] and now i'm getting pissed off because i [86:17] have to ask for it because people are [86:18] not doing it [86:20] um and you know i have to figure out [86:22] creatively [86:23] how i'm going to do it in a way that's [86:25] digestible not only to the viewers but [86:26] to me [86:27] to constantly ask the the stereotypes of [86:30] asking and all that so [86:32] all right moving on from us complaining [86:34] i feel like and i apologize [86:36] for those just who watch this complain [86:37] but it's there there is some catharsis [86:39] in it for us [86:40] uh kj ballin 14 [86:44] for 10 for the valium reliability what [86:46] will compete with the tlx type s is the [86:49] upcoming is500 a direct competitor [86:51] where do you think they will price the [86:53] lexus so there is no pricing released [86:55] unofficially or officially and you and i [86:58] have this conversation again mark [86:59] so the tlx type s will be a [87:01] mass-produced car they'll sell a lot of [87:03] them and it'll be what fifty three [87:04] thousand dollars thereabouts [87:06] i think so the is 500 lexus has [87:10] said it'll be a limited production car [87:12] so even if it's like 55 or 60 thousand [87:14] dollars the dealers are going to [87:16] annihilate you [87:17] there's no way you're getting that car [87:19] for under 60. no way [87:21] if they're going to make it limited [87:23] people are there [87:24] the dealers are going to absolutely [87:26] scalp you to death on it [87:28] and that car is going to be worth a lot [87:30] i mean it may not be the best car but [87:31] it's going to be worth a lot of money [87:33] yeah and so i got to ride in it um but [87:36] yeah that one was modified yeah the one [87:37] i wrote in has no bearing and you have [87:40] they had one of their pro drivers so i [87:42] got to meet uh pruitt [87:44] scott who put me in a fuji with him and [87:46] i don't [87:48] i have no idea who drove the the other [87:49] one he drove it like a madman [87:52] and obviously you have a pro level [87:54] driver [87:55] the dynamics in the passenger seat [87:57] particularly had turn downs it had [87:59] lowering springs and a wing and all this [88:01] other garbage so i have no idea but it [88:02] sounded great [88:03] yeah i'm sure so what else competes with [88:06] the dlx type s [88:07] is 350f sport but yeah those are the [88:10] most direct cons [88:11] direct competitors the two kind of [88:12] japanese cars [88:14] those would be the two and it just i [88:17] guess it depends on what you want the [88:18] tlx is going to annihilate [88:21] the is350 and that's just because of the [88:23] motor [88:24] it doesn't have what it takes to keep up [88:26] i think dynamically [88:27] the is is going to be more connected [88:30] to drive but [88:34] the tlx is going to be a much better car [88:36] oh no doubt the tlx [88:38] so i drove the is350 on track the f [88:40] sport and all the other journalists [88:42] hate the motor though this is garbage i [88:44] will say it does two things better than [88:46] the [88:47] is-3 than the tlx the gearbox doesn't [88:50] auto-up shift [88:51] so if you are driving on the track you [88:52] can bang the limiter in certain corners [88:54] and not put you in the wrong gear [88:56] and it is still rear driven which means [88:58] it's a car that will trail brake [89:00] and it'll under braking rotate into a [89:02] slide you can't just give it gas to get [89:04] it to rotate but it's impressive [89:06] dynamically it's a really really good [89:07] car it's just not fast [89:09] right and the motor is not good by [89:11] modern standards [89:12] yeah it's it's a new dated car but again [89:16] you're not the people that are buying [89:18] the is350 and the tlx type s are not [89:20] somebody [89:21] that's like oh i've had like 10 audis [89:23] and 5 bmws [89:24] unless they got burned by those birds [89:25] right right that's it they're not going [89:27] to appeal to that [89:28] so i guess you have to look at it [89:30] differently i would say [89:31] right now the tlx would be a better car [89:33] to have and own long term because it [89:35] does everything better [89:36] really overall the whole scope of it but [89:39] the is personally i would rather the is [89:41] because i like the way it looks i like [89:42] the style of it i like what the kind of [89:44] the ethos of what they're doing [89:46] rear dry platform and naturally [89:48] aspirated motor that it will never have [89:50] a problem [89:51] ever and i'd be willing to make those [89:53] trade-offs that that's me [89:54] so yeah you just objectively from a [89:56] reviewer's perspective tlx is like [89:59] that's the best [90:00] cool sedan you could probably get for [90:02] the money for the money [90:03] absolutely i think the germans do a [90:05] better job but they are way more money [90:07] [Music] [90:08] uh and they have weight loss character [90:10] and are not as reliable [90:12] but for a lease well you don't know [90:14] reliability [90:15] this is the first motor that they were [90:17] i'm sorry the first [90:18] engine with a twin turbo v6 that they [90:21] made so who knows [90:23] uh adrian q what current future 2022 [90:27] electric vehicle excluding tesla's due [90:29] to their charging network [90:31] do you believe has a chance for mass [90:33] adoption and where's the arby's [90:35] so i made him not get arby's today yeah [90:37] i'm like dude [90:38] it's live stream day let's hit arby's [90:40] he's like well [90:41] maybe it would be a good idea if we did [90:48] so then i punched him now we didn't get [90:50] arby's [90:51] um what was the other part of that um [90:54] all i heard was arby's dude and [90:56] everything went black what uh [90:58] what brand or company you think will do [90:59] mass adoption ev [91:01] other than tesla ford ford has a really [91:04] good chance of doing that now with the [91:06] f-150 [91:08] toyota's behind the eight ball they know [91:09] it but once toyota figures out a way to [91:11] build infrastructure and [91:13] infrastructure has to be worked on with [91:14] a local government as well [91:17] realistically that's the only way to do [91:18] a massive infrastructure yeah you're not [91:20] kidding like the [91:22] that is huge but that's at least five [91:24] years out [91:25] the kia and hyundai keep pushing this ev [91:28] thing [91:29] and personally to me the whole eevee [91:32] thing [91:32] with kiana hyundai i do not believe them [91:35] i don't believe them from past [91:36] experience with dealing with them [91:38] every time i asked them questions they [91:40] were not serious about evie now all of a [91:42] sudden they're serious about evie [91:44] until i see these cars on the road like [91:46] really on the road not just in [91:48] california i i [91:49] definitely i'm gonna wait and see on [91:52] that one but [91:53] yeah i think ford is in the best [91:54] position they're the first one to ev a [91:56] truck [91:57] and that's like the perfect place [92:00] groundbreaking yeah i mean i i don't [92:01] care about it but i mean [92:03] you know you can do that to the biggest [92:04] volume seller in the world and make it [92:06] work [92:07] then it's just and ford has the [92:09] connections with the local us government [92:10] to build [92:11] infrastructure if i was ford and i'm [92:13] sure this is what they're doing i'd work [92:15] with my local [92:16] government in this case detroit and [92:19] subsidize them and help them build an ev [92:22] infrastructure for my trucks so not only [92:25] is it a marketing one [92:26] it's an engineering one as well yeah [92:29] i mean i sounds good to me so [92:33] give me some of that money so i'm i'm in [92:35] local government i want some of that [92:37] money how do you give it to me [92:39] i'll put whatever you want up i'll put a [92:41] sign in your face on [92:42] every charger if you want if you give me [92:44] a couple hundred thousand a year [92:45] are more oh seven are there any makes or [92:48] models thank you for the five dollars [92:50] with genuinely connected feeling [92:52] electric power steering [92:53] who is doing the best eps [92:57] affordably oh no well you just said best [92:59] porsche [93:00] [Music] [93:02] i don't know all right what's the best [93:05] what's the best [93:06] steering car you've driven anything that [93:08] doesn't have an assist [93:11] i mean honestly i i don't know all the [93:13] electric power steering racks feel [93:15] almost completely the same to me and the [93:17] more they tout the marketing that [93:19] they're amazing the more i'm like i [93:22] don't know we talked about it so like [93:23] the the 86 [93:24] it's still rack mountain the 86 is [93:26] probably one of the best [93:27] and then the 992 yeah then [93:31] probably i would say honestly the 86 [93:33] that's a really good one [93:35] it's it's but then again it's subaru [93:38] who has historically amazing steering [93:41] feel [93:41] on their older generations yeah the s209 [93:43] well the draw stiffeners on the front [93:45] was incredible yeah [93:46] i mean one of the best steering cars out [93:48] there aside from you know like real [93:50] hardcore sports cars so [93:51] the 86 is always good but they have that [93:53] foundation obviously that whatever [93:55] they're doing with mounting in front [93:56] subframes and all that [93:57] how they have it set up it just [93:59] translates well into an eps and i think [94:01] the problem we talk about this a lot [94:04] their found their goal in making cars is [94:07] not to transmit anything through the [94:08] steering wheel [94:09] so by design to start you're already [94:13] numbed everything out so when they go to [94:14] make a sports car version like oh [94:16] we started everything by numbing it out [94:18] now we got to take things out and it's [94:19] not like [94:20] pure so you don't get a lot of feeling [94:22] back no matter what you do [94:24] so i don't know buy an 86 [94:27] yeah and the new 86 as well it revises [94:29] the bushing in the steering rack to make [94:31] it even more direct [94:32] that's something they talked about as [94:34] well well direct is different than [94:35] feel right yeah you can have a direct [94:38] steering rack like you can make any car [94:40] direct steering rack you just make it [94:41] yes [94:42] yeah yeah i mean but you don't feel [94:44] anything so [94:45] it doesn't load up yeah uh hopefully [94:48] that answers your question in that [94:49] regards i know that one's a little tough [94:51] uh but a super donkey for 20 [94:55] canadian i bought a 20 20 super on every [94:58] hyundai accent driver [94:59] wants to race me and why a supra yeah [95:01] he's a he's a [95:03] cool dude he bought a supra why does [95:06] every hyundai accent because they're [95:07] jealous brah [95:09] now i think a lot of it is curiosity of [95:11] people wanting to see [95:14] what it is the car can do they want to [95:16] hear it they want to see it go by they [95:17] want to see it accelerate i found that [95:19] that's what a lot of people do when they [95:20] stop me [95:21] and when i'm in like the kia rio [95:24] especially [95:25] like i'll roll down my windows like man [95:27] is that a kia rio i'm like okay i'm like [95:29] can you can you do like a [95:30] cbt dump so i just get that thing wound [95:33] up and they're like wow [95:35] on a serious note it's amazing you know [95:38] if you remove [95:39] yourself from like the the weird [95:41] subculture [95:42] that is the internet when it comes to [95:44] cars regular people [95:46] don't think of the supra as being a bmw [95:49] or whatever no no [95:50] they think it's a cool sports car the [95:51] looks i mean there's nothing else that [95:53] looks like it [95:54] yep so it does have that huge wow factor [95:57] um that somebody stopped me the day i [95:59] was in the car and they're like man that [96:01] car looks so cool what is it you know [96:02] what is it like and like [96:04] is it loud is it fast i'm like this is [96:06] at a stoplight i'm like [96:07] you know you're trying to give them a [96:08] history lesson on this car without [96:10] sounding like a douche but they were [96:12] more excited about it than i would [96:14] pull out your monroe and be like well [96:16] now i [96:17] paid so much money you know you can't [96:19] even make this in three years [96:23] um next question from nick dion [96:26] for twenty dollars uh i have a 2016 audi [96:30] s6 with 87 000 miles have an expensive [96:33] cleaning engine out service at 100k and [96:36] then turbo screen service every forty [96:37] thousand [96:38] is it worth keeping to a hundred fifty [96:39] thousand miles realistic slash [96:41] reasonable uh no i would not keep that [96:45] car to 150 000 miles [96:47] why not an engine out [96:51] engine out that's that's nothing i don't [96:54] know man i mean [96:54] the the 16 s6 still had the twin turbo [96:57] v8 if i remember [96:58] it's a really cool car i just i feel [97:00] like a lot of these cars [97:02] particularly automatic luxury sedans [97:04] that have even you know [97:06] super sedans like that is they're not a [97:08] car you keep long term they're like you [97:09] here and now purchase and then [97:11] sooner or later they go to they go off [97:13] to live their life at a buy here pay [97:14] here a lot [97:16] i saw an s eight not an s8 a uh a8 [97:20] in woodstock at like one of the buy here [97:22] pay here lots [97:24] the thing like it literally it looked [97:25] like it was about eight years old and [97:27] the thing was listed for 17 [97:29] 000 and i'm like [97:32] like hey maybe i should stop in then i'd [97:35] be making those videos hey man i got [97:37] this cool car for 10 [97:38] 000. and i put 50 000 here's my journey [97:42] and my girlfriend she's got a bikini on [97:46] oh that's sorry that was your plan no no [97:48] that's that's what i plan on doing when [97:49] i buy a new 86. [97:50] when you buy your bmws i bought all the [97:53] cheapest m cars and now women want me [97:56] they they want me when it's on the tow [97:58] truck driving by they can ride on the [98:00] tow truck it's cool the horns are loud [98:04] we got to do a speed round so we said [98:05] we're going to end at 6 30. it's already [98:07] past that and we have to shoot the tlx [98:10] tonight [98:10] all right so please stop donating yeah [98:13] don't donate [98:14] whatever you've done so far is way more [98:16] than expected you're gonna get a lot for [98:18] your money i promise you [98:20] and subscribe like follow me on every [98:22] single multi [98:23] or social media platform oh we've [98:25] got a lot of questions how many [98:27] a lot like what's a lot like half a page [98:29] is worth [98:30] to define numbers do you have numbers [98:32] one two three [98:33] four five six seven [98:36] probably like 20. so i'm gonna speed [98:39] through these okay so [98:40] we're getting close to battery being [98:42] dead so we'll [98:43] speed through it oh my god [98:46] all righty then uh [98:51] i having a lx 470 [98:54] ls 530 and i will use gs350 that i can [98:57] electronically make [98:58] and mechanically maintain do you feel [99:00] the the newer ownership experience of [99:03] of cars benefits and outweighs the cost [99:08] that didn't actually make any sense to [99:09] me the the new the [99:11] so he has an lx470 yeah ls430 [99:14] and now we'll use gs350 okay he can [99:17] service them and maintain them [99:19] but do you feel like the ownership of a [99:21] newer car ben if [99:22] the benefits of owning a newer car out [99:24] weighs the cost of not being able to [99:26] work on the the [99:27] whole problem with the new cars is [99:29] they're expensive and they're way more [99:30] complicated [99:31] and they're more complicated for a [99:33] multitude of reasons which we talked [99:34] about a lot [99:35] so not only are you paying more but your [99:37] costs to keep them long-term are going [99:39] to be [99:40] way more excessive as they get broken [99:43] and are difficult to fix [99:45] we saw that with the the ella the new ls [99:47] 500 [99:48] the head mechanic who's been working on [99:50] lexus cars for 20 years [99:52] said the worst car he's worked on the [99:53] worst lexus was the new [99:55] twin turbo v6 the engine is so hard to [99:58] work on [99:58] everything's hard to get at that's a [100:00] perfect example of [100:02] even from one of the most reliable [100:04] companies how complicated has gone [100:06] and that's that brand you can times that [100:07] by [100:08] a lot more with the other companies so [100:10] the whole point is i don't want to get [100:11] caught up on this old shit's better but [100:13] old old things [100:15] were more simple because they could be [100:17] now they are no longer because [100:19] they have to be complicated to meet all [100:21] these regulations so you keep the long [100:23] long term stuff and anything new you [100:25] have to lease and that was from [100:27] daniel for ten dollars moving on okay [100:28] next question carlos for five [100:30] what luxury suv would you put money on [100:32] thoughts on a three row coming from [100:34] lexus there is a three three-row what's [100:35] called the rx 350 l and it's terrible [100:38] i don't think it's terrible but though [100:39] the third row is adjustable that's what [100:40] i mean it's terrible it's a three row [100:43] yeah it's just there for the sake of [100:44] having something on on sale it's not [100:46] particularly usable what luxury suv [100:48] would you buy [100:49] real luxury suv three row yeah xc90 with [100:52] a huge warranty i think it's one of the [100:54] best three rows you can get it's [100:55] enormous [100:56] it just you're gonna have it in the shop [100:58] a lot and then the q7 [101:00] yeah to me it's bmw x7 because the same [101:02] thing as the x5 that's two [101:04] that's too much money how much is that [101:06] thing it's a lot of money i [101:08] think it starts at like 90. [101:09] oh all right never mind then if i'm [101:10] unless i'm mistaken [101:12] i think the q7 starts cheaper so the [101:15] volvo's the cheapest price of entry then [101:17] you get to the q7 and then [101:19] x7 uh women respect her for five dollars [101:22] hope this pays off your gold chain from [101:24] the bentega video [101:25] yeah man i'm still on that thing was on [101:27] layaway they'll let me borrow it for a [101:29] day for the shoot but i gotta bring it [101:30] back and pay it off joseph for two [101:32] dollars can we talk about the new mazda [101:34] cx-5 coming out [101:35] we talked about it briefly in the [101:37] beginning of the stream with a factory [101:38] between lexus and [101:39] and toyota and mazda who knows i don't [101:42] know what it's going to be like i have [101:44] no idea what they're going to pump out [101:45] of there but my guess is it's a cx-5 [101:47] it's going to be [101:48] some cx-5 variant because that's their [101:50] highest volume car [101:51] and they need to have it locally so [101:52] they're not eating shipping it out [101:54] of japan with the conversion [101:56] uh i'm i'm gonna butcher your name i'm [102:00] sorry man [102:01] pranay uh for ten dollars thank you for [102:04] your donation buying my 19 raptor was a [102:06] lesson in checking the mechanical design [102:08] for corner cutting [102:09] in his car's case the intercooler fan is [102:12] low and eats sand off road [102:14] what's the best resource for finding [102:15] finding designs before buying a car [102:17] honestly [102:20] this one's tough as like a member of [102:22] public and not the press corps [102:23] trying to read any of the engineering [102:25] briefs or product [102:26] releases they do ahead of time but ford [102:28] is a good example they don't really [102:30] share any of that information because [102:31] they don't think their customers value [102:33] it [102:33] so again that's kind of like our job to [102:35] talk about it but even then the [102:37] engineering [102:38] most outlets don't talk about it so it's [102:40] hard to know anything right [102:42] so i'm sorry that's not a good good [102:44] answer for you but that's just the [102:46] realities of this [102:47] um or you know buy a car that's been out [102:51] for a long time that is an enthusiast [102:52] product people are going to talk about [102:53] the [102:54] defects pretty quickly yeah no [102:55] absolutely so forms yeah [102:57] uh allen park for five dollars [103:00] uh one high performance daily e63 wagon [103:04] rs6 versus a two-car garage which is an [103:07] suv and sports coupe what would you do [103:11] let's say that again would you rather [103:12] have two cars like an suv and a sports [103:15] car yes [103:16] i agree i think unless you're already so [103:18] rich you can afford an e63 [103:20] and you can also have your sports car if [103:22] you only have two cars you gotta have [103:24] the real car [103:25] you gotta have the fun car that's it and [103:28] to to make that real car do everything [103:29] it's gotta be the hauler it's gotta have [103:31] the space it's gotta have all the [103:32] practical stuff [103:33] so you're not sacrificing that one and [103:35] then having to get a third one [103:37] you can only do two if you get a three [103:39] cars then you have the tier of it you [103:41] have a gt car you have a hauler and then [103:43] you have a pure sports car i mean that's [103:45] or to be fair as well if you never have [103:48] time to drive your car like the [103:49] like chris the guy who owns the gt3 and [103:52] your only little bit of fun is going to [103:53] the work [103:54] going to work then have your one sports [103:56] car in his case he's a mcconnen turbo [103:58] that's the problem because you're [104:00] talking about a totally different issue [104:01] he doesn't have the time for even his [104:03] sports car so he probably shouldn't have [104:04] the sports car [104:05] i agree well maybe i don't know i mean [104:07] it's just it's like a garage jewel it's [104:09] garage jewelry and i know [104:10] i'm sure he hates it he hates it like i [104:12] do in some cases like doing that [104:14] but i don't know there's no right answer [104:16] it's it's based on what you you want [104:17] booty blasted for five dollars wish your [104:19] bidet video got more views recently got [104:21] a cheap one that's changed my life [104:23] there's not anybody that i know unless [104:26] you get a staph infection from the bidet [104:28] that has anything negative to say about [104:31] having your [104:31] your b hole sprayed clean or if you're a [104:35] whatever gender if you don't have a b [104:37] hole if it's just [104:38] butt cheeks or just do you wash your [104:41] face with it it's going to change you [104:44] um my god moses for 5.00 let's be real [104:51] um if andy the labs video played on your [104:55] channel it would do better [104:59] uh what video yeah any video [105:03] deb makes some of the genuinely i we [105:05] were talking about this today [105:07] it kills me that deb's videos don't get [105:08] more views sometimes because [105:10] her cinematography and her perspective [105:11] is unique and very very good [105:13] i'm not going to comment too much on [105:14] that i think there's ways that she could [105:16] get more views [105:17] but it will work required to do things [105:19] that she is not currently in the place [105:21] to do [105:22] she has to feed the beast way more she's [105:24] to release more videos [105:26] and it's it's a grind that i don't think [105:27] she could possibly do [105:29] nor could she want to do that um yes [105:33] i think her videos would do better as [105:35] maybe like [105:37] collaborations but what's the value to [105:39] her to do that [105:40] that's then it's not her own stuff like [105:42] you're right if i put like her dbx video [105:44] on my channel and i just [105:46] put myself in it for like two minutes [105:48] probably probably do great [105:49] she needs that exposure but she's also [105:51] playing to a different market [105:53] like the people that watch my want [105:54] to know technical stuff they want to [105:56] know like engineers hers are for like [105:58] real people that are buying these things [106:00] and women and there's [106:02] probably 90 percent of well i don't know [106:03] what her statistics are but it got to be [106:05] a lot more women that watch her stuff [106:06] than watch me [106:07] watch me and i mean like i got three [106:09] girls that watch and i have to pay all [106:10] of them and the rest are bots [106:12] [Laughter] [106:13] uh mr physical for five dollars when [106:16] will you review a chevy celebrity [106:18] oh my god uh [106:22] if if i if i could get one i would [106:26] but and they're they're all only the [106:28] boneyard out here dude [106:29] like if you found one be a miracle [106:33] yeah good luck uh j mac for five dollars [106:35] we've already asked answer this question [106:37] but we'll [106:37] quickly is350 all wheel versus tlx [106:41] tlx i agree thank you zac will allow ski [106:44] for five dollars just bought a [106:46] 2018 mercedes e400 wagon to keep as a [106:49] long term daily how screwed am i [106:51] um if things start going poorly [106:54] and you run out of warranty you're [106:56] totally screwed um [107:01] wow doge hi mark currently waiting on [107:03] the bronco reservations my second [107:05] vehicle what's your opinion on them well [107:06] wow doge we're gonna go to the product [107:08] launch here shortly so you'll know right [107:09] after that it's at the end of the month [107:11] um for five dollars from the mighty twig [107:15] what do you think about the price tag on [107:16] the 718 gts 4 liter [107:19] what do i think about the price tag of [107:20] it it's high but it's good [107:22] it's amazing wait you said it was like [107:24] if you don't have the gt4 money [107:26] you're not really losing that much with [107:27] that not as a street car not as a street [107:29] car [107:29] i think it's i think it's appropriately [107:32] priced it's a value [107:34] um oh my god uh mr alastair we're almost [107:39] through these mark don't worry [107:40] uh when do you think car prices will [107:42] come back to normal i sold my car and i [107:43] don't feel like buying one at its [107:44] current prices next year [107:46] yeah probably after winter uh [107:50] han w for five dollars nd mx5 [107:54] 2019 toyota 86 and a 2018 m2dct not [107:59] competition which one would you sell [108:02] 86 86 yeah the nd and the m2 [108:05] fulfill a more interesting segment um [108:10] adam e 52 for five dollars more rtok not [108:13] daily anymore just gonna sell my 18 golf [108:15] r and just find a cheap [108:17] fun uh fun used car for a few years [108:20] not a good idea than right now because [108:23] of use prices yeah i wouldn't buy a car [108:24] right now because you use prices [108:26] but if you want to sell one like your [108:27] golf r it makes sense if you had to [108:29] if you had to buy one then you have [108:31] you're getting you're going to pay a lot [108:32] more that's it [108:34] uh daniel art for 10 hey guys i wanted [108:36] to talk to you and thank you for all [108:38] your videos [108:39] i recently bought an nd2 as my post [108:41] divorce midlife crisis car and [108:43] absolutely love it [108:44] coming from a domestic car guys your [108:45] vids opened my eyes daniel [108:47] congratulations on the nd2 that car's [108:49] amazing [108:49] yeah you're i mean i don't see it as a [108:51] divorce midlife crisis car i think it's [108:53] just a fun car [108:54] yeah he bought the wrong car for divorce [108:56] car that's a c5 [108:57] automatically a c5 pace c5 pace car with [109:01] like the harley livery on the back [109:03] no i think that's a car that opens your [109:04] eyes to what it is what [109:06] how fun and whimsical driving can be [109:08] there's just there's nothing else like [109:10] that carl left so [109:11] enjoy it and you know hopefully you [109:13] recover from the divorce [109:14] and get out of that and move on dino [109:17] dunes for five dollars i wanted to buy a [109:19] clean s2000 the end of the year [109:21] my fault for not buying something else [109:22] at 35k i once lost my dream car nsx to [109:26] the markups [109:28] that's a tough one man like it's a retro [109:31] like [109:32] hindsight's a with cars you know [109:34] like i was like that person i hated the [109:36] nsx [109:37] i didn't hate it i just didn't see the [109:39] value in the nsx once the s2000 was out [109:42] and now as i've gotten older i'm like i [109:44] wish i would have bought an nsx [109:46] and you know because they were at like [109:47] for a long time they were just like [109:49] 50 grand 50 60 grand for a decent one [109:51] i'm like yeah [109:52] whatever now they're over 100 yeah [109:56] [Laughter] [110:00] for 10 when i see a subaru [110:06] when i see a subaru bentley [110:08] collaboration i want to drive a [110:10] bentaru continental wrx it's basically a [110:13] continental gt with a stick shift and a [110:15] wing [110:15] well cap collaborations would you like [110:17] to see and that sounds amazing a bentley [110:20] subaru [110:21] oh that would be a horrific would be [110:23] incredible dude you'd have a great like [110:25] leather stitch interior that was all [110:26] buzzy and rattly [110:28] with an infotainment that was just [110:30] garbage yeah [110:31] it would like electrocute you or [110:34] something i don't know what would be the [110:35] worst collaboration car [110:38] uh sure man that's that's a great [110:41] question [110:43] i got it i want to go towards the [110:45] funniest response and i i'm [110:46] so brainlocked what would you to me [110:50] would have to be something american yeah [110:52] it'd be like american and french [110:54] oh wait there's a company like that [110:56] already [111:00] um i don't know like tata [111:03] and like ram or something [111:07] like an indian ram oh man that would be [111:09] incredible [111:10] yeah uh it was like half rickshaw [111:14] like pickup truck uh [111:17] poo panda for five dollars any more fine [111:19] print series we have one coming up [111:21] actually we're having [111:22] i wouldn't say what it is yeah but it's [111:25] something that's never been done before [111:27] and it's extraordinarily [111:29] involved um i think it will open up a [111:32] lot of doors i don't know how many [111:33] people are going to watch it but it's [111:35] definitely something [111:36] any viewer on here is going to learn [111:39] so much that you've never heard or never [111:41] seen before and especially for future [111:43] stuff [111:44] and it's one of those that you could [111:45] easily share out and get people to be [111:47] educated on the topic so it's i'm [111:49] excited for it i just know [111:51] it's not going to pay off for the amount [111:52] of work that we're putting into it [111:55] babygravy969 [111:57] or 696 my bed have you guys driven the [112:01] new camaro what are your opinions on the [112:02] car we both drove the zl11le [112:04] mm-hmm amazing you just can't yeah ss [112:07] the ss [112:08] and then the uh 1le and then the one le [112:11] uh [112:11] i'm sorry z011le and the ss1le [112:15] they're you know top dog you just can't [112:18] see out of them [112:18] yeah that's it it's like being in a [112:21] bread like a [112:22] bread box with tints uh [112:25] ezio dill aren't they uh hi [112:28] what's your best u.s car currently in [112:30] production i'm a european who fell in [112:32] love with american cars [112:34] mach 1 and c8 even though i hate the c8 [112:38] gt500 well yeah i guess michael i feel i [112:41] feel like the mach 1 is the car that you [112:43] would buy and you wouldn't have to worry [112:44] about [112:45] it having a problem yeah probably [112:48] uh friscoism where's the beef and [112:51] cheddar [112:51] this is a live stream did arby stop [112:53] sponsoring you so i had a problem with [112:54] corporate arby's this week [112:56] really yeah i did i like i talked to joe [113:00] who handles their beef and cheddar mix [113:02] and last time i'm like dude the cheddar [113:04] ratio is like [113:05] all off like it took me it just tasted [113:08] dry so i'm like dude joe what are we [113:10] gonna do about this and he's like [113:12] i'll tell you what you can go [113:13] yourself so he cut me off of the beef [113:16] and cheddars he does not want bad pr [113:18] on this channel so um i'm gonna try to [113:21] work [113:21] work my magic with him this week [113:23] probably slide into his [113:24] uh his house he'd just get drunk and [113:27] drive right through his front window [113:30] where's my fifa cheddar joe uh [113:34] evio 67 for ten dollars really [113:37] appreciate all the work you do have you [113:38] ever reviewed a [113:39] bmw 1m i have one since new was [113:42] considered selling it for an m2cs before [113:44] it was gone but decided to keep the 1m [113:46] at the end [113:47] i drove a 1m a long long time ago [113:50] and it was amazing but it's like the m2 [113:52] it's basically the same i drove a [113:53] one um [113:54] i just hate the way those cars look well [113:55] you like the way the m2 looks too [113:58] do i like the one i'm too i hate them [113:59] too you hate both of them i just feel [114:01] like it's like [114:02] honda civic dude it's like to me i look [114:04] at it i'm like yeah [114:06] no they're they're actually one of the [114:08] better cars to drive i just i don't know [114:10] what it is i don't like the way that [114:11] they look they look all like distorted [114:15] i think the 1m will always be a special [114:17] car and the m2cs will be special for [114:19] different reasons [114:20] you got to be a bmw person to really [114:22] like those we're doing an mtcs this [114:23] summer too [114:24] uh we're working with a shirt yeah yeah [114:26] congratulations i told you about this [114:27] we're working with the charity we're [114:28] talking to the track [114:29] i blacked it out no i mean i'm sure it's [114:32] i'm sure it's amazing [114:34] john dara for five dollars any word on a [114:36] patagonia sponsor so i [114:38] looked into it they don't sponsor anyone [114:40] yeah they can sponsor the most [114:42] wasteful industry okay man we talk about [114:44] disposable cars that's [114:46] they spend billions of dollars on [114:48] creating waste [114:49] can you sponsor us the guy would [114:51] probably be like joe from [114:53] arby's dude he'd probably drive his his [114:55] hang glider through my one [114:57] when you shield with a bayonet on the [114:58] front of it [115:01] this locally sourced hang glider it's [115:03] his hand-built hand glider that he [115:05] he flew across the country on the wind [115:07] tails i [115:08] hate uh shysters for five dollars you [115:11] think government's mandating [115:12] only zero emission vehicles for the [115:14] future is realistic [115:18] i don't know dude you have five years [115:20] four years it could be like we're going [115:22] coal-powered cars and then [115:23] then all of a sudden we're getting rid [115:25] of emissions and we're gonna we're gonna [115:27] block everything [115:28] i don't know i i'm tired of thinking [115:30] about it i don't think it's realistic [115:32] short term no the infrastructure is the [115:34] problem yeah [116:53] just let me know if it's back it's not [116:56] bad yet [116:57] is the audio back uh it says it's the [116:59] next oh [117:00] hello we're back look at that [117:04] all right so there might be audio delay [117:06] now i have no idea [117:07] i mean it depends but really we need to [117:10] can't we need to get [117:11] kill this so what i'll do is we're going [117:13] to how many more questions [117:14] other back can you hear us is there a [117:16] delay as well [117:18] in our voices to video [117:22] it's back yeah we know that we have five [117:25] questions left okay fine just get it [117:27] done all right i'm going to the bathroom [117:29] [Laughter] [117:31] i'll still talk while you're doing that [117:32] all right there's no delay uh [117:34] you just gotta you're gonna bring the [117:36] mic in like your [117:37] uh yeah frank drebin i'm gonna put my [117:40] hands on the wall [117:40] [Laughter] [117:43] all right so it's just me and you now [117:45] this is this is real fun [117:47] all right so i'm gonna go back to the [117:49] question so [117:50] what youtube asked was is there a [117:53] better car for the money [117:55] for power output than the supra right [117:57] now that's brand new [117:58] probably not um it's a great car i just [118:01] drove it on track [118:02] for like a quarter of a day recently at [118:04] toyota headquarters [118:06] dynamically it's wonderful it rotates [118:09] into breaking great it's really well [118:11] balanced [118:11] you just if you're a taller person [118:14] like i am your head's going to hit the [118:16] roof and it doesn't have a lot of [118:17] visibility [118:18] obviously there is the wind buffeting [118:19] thing which is annoying when you have [118:20] both windows down and [118:22] if you're really a toyota person and you [118:24] like real toyotas [118:27] it might the bmw nest might bug you it [118:29] doesn't bother me [118:30] but oh well uh hamid [118:33] for five dollars don't be asked don't be [118:35] afraid to ask [118:36] for subscribers i will tell mark that uh [118:40] mebel a toast for three dollars any [118:42] thoughts on the first [118:43] gen jeep srt8 rising in value from [118:47] hagerty [118:48] um [118:54] of course mark brought brought the mic [118:56] back into the bathroom with him [118:58] this guy [119:04] unfucking believable uh [119:07] like oh jack what's it like to work with [119:09] a true professional like oh [119:10] let me tell [119:13] [Laughter] [119:15] i'm you believable um [119:20] the first gen uh jeep srt8 rising in [119:23] value seems like [119:25] um honestly if you've driven one the [119:29] gearbox is so horrible [119:31] and that car all it did was get [119:32] mechanically better throughout the years [119:34] the styling change so [119:35] i don't know it doesn't make a whole lot [119:36] of sense to me uh jd tech and gear for [119:39] ten dollars [119:44] unbelievable [119:52] mark is unbelievable [119:59] all right it's mark's mike day no my mic [120:02] can you guys hear me i appreciate that [120:04] mark that was incredible [120:06] what what happened [120:10] they couldn't hear my my story about the [120:12] srt they couldn't [120:13] no they couldn't hear it over what that [120:17] i thought i muted my mic dude okay [120:21] i have one the final question just [120:22] whenever we get there sorry about that [120:24] guys [120:25] and that was uh not intentional okay [120:29] um uh jd tech and gear for ten dollars [120:33] uh have you ever considered doing a [120:34] video topic on engine tuning and [120:36] affecting the drivability [120:38] of effects on the drivetrain and [120:40] suspension stress blah blah blah blah [120:41] blah we are [120:42] planning on one day doing a fine print [120:44] video on ecu tuning [120:46] yeah we we had a plan but uh you know i [120:50] i schedule too many cars yeah jack [120:51] scheduled too many cars and projects [120:53] where i can't physically uh go to bed [120:55] anymore [120:57] on for five dollars canadian hi guys [120:59] asked a while ago about releasing rs3 [121:01] video [121:02] i would love to do an rs3 but we're [121:04] never going to get one at this rate i've [121:06] asked local viewers no one has them and [121:07] they still make it right audi ain't [121:09] giving us squat they're like oh we have [121:11] five [121:11] five cars in all of north america put it [121:13] on the list email them because i emailed [121:15] them three cars i emailed them i wanted [121:17] the sq7 [121:18] the r8 and like two other cars like oh [121:21] we don't have [121:22] either of them but they're in a model [121:23] changeover so we'll put that on the list [121:25] you're right i mean we should have this [121:27] stuff honestly there's no excuse why not [121:29] to [121:29] so between the new brz and the nd2 this [121:32] is for 20 [121:32] for wood and steel i live in the [121:34] chicagoland area and love the content [121:35] well thank you wooden steel 92. [121:38] uh if you need to use the car every day [121:40] then you end uh the new [121:41] brz right yep over the nd [121:45] yeah yeah absolutely it's more usable [121:48] uh farooq shahib for five dollars [121:52] canadian oh we're so close mark we're [121:53] almost done [121:54] can you do a uh fine print video [121:57] explaining suspension components [121:59] sure we should do that yeah we'll get [122:01] well because [122:02] i know a lot but i'm not an engine i'm [122:04] not obviously an engineer so we'll get [122:06] somebody on the engineering side that is [122:09] competent to talk on camera and we'll [122:11] walk through different things [122:12] to explain like the differences of it [122:14] and that's something i've wanted to do [122:16] again it's just the fine print ones take [122:18] the most amount of time to do them right [122:20] and often don't have a lot of reward no [122:22] they they typically don't [122:23] because it's so obscure um [122:28] sean for 20 canadian recently bought a [122:30] lightly used gt350 [122:32] partially influenced by your opinion i [122:34] consider it a low spec c8 but there's no [122:35] manual and i figured the gt350 [122:38] was a better driver's car do you do you [122:39] think i made the right choice [122:42] 350 or c8 350. 350. it's amazing car [122:45] yeah it's always the right answer still [122:47] blows up yeah [122:49] uh kyle hernandez what do you think [122:51] about the best grand tour for 30 to 40 [122:53] 000 [122:53] and you were used [122:58] does that exist grand tours for that [123:01] money [123:01] i get like a one mustang like no like [123:04] i'm talking about gt cars like [123:07] we're talking about like that xf jag are [123:09] we talking about like that type of stuff [123:11] let's say sports car something that's [123:13] fun in the twist season doesn't look [123:14] like a turd [123:19] slightly used mustang or camaro [123:23] you can't get an rcf for that price you [123:25] can't get a bmw that's reliable [123:26] nd is too small brz isn't a great gt car [123:30] it's a good daily it's not a good gt car [123:33] what about like an a6 or something is [123:35] that a gt car no because it's not fun on [123:36] the twisty [123:37] yeah it is when you when it's a two [123:40] liter [123:41] you all right i don't know dude i have [123:45] no idea on that one [123:46] thirty to forty thousand dollars what's [123:48] a good gt car bmw [123:50] yeah you really feel that way i mean [123:52] what else what else are you gonna get [123:55] ferrari i mean i think like you have to [123:58] go up in price [124:00] yeah someone said kia stinger okay there [124:02] you go no that that's true [124:03] that's very good point let the viewer [124:05] answer that one okay that one that [124:07] viewer is getting 72 dollars [124:10] next year in successive payments of one [124:14] dollar per [124:14] per week per year per year uh [124:18] hater man for five dollars canadian do [124:20] you think driver first brands like mazda [124:22] is the future in this industry [124:24] a future being absorbed by toyota [124:28] i don't know yeah i think so i think the [124:30] more that that dies the more there's [124:31] going to be a market for it people are [124:32] going to want it [124:34] maybe it's a small percentage but people [124:36] are going to want it uh [124:39] nuki poo for uh twenty dollars he says [124:42] he loves your content thank you nukey [124:44] poo [124:44] i love your name i love your name i love [124:47] the money i'm gonna bathe myself [124:50] digitally in that money if i could shoot [124:52] digital coins on myself i would right [124:55] now [124:55] uh derek for ten dollars love your [124:58] content [124:59] thought in the julia quadrifoglio is the [125:01] second car to a 2011 f-150 [125:04] well it's going to be your third car [125:05] because your giulio's going to be in the [125:07] shop all the time turn card to your [125:08] rental car [125:09] nah man i love the i love the [125:10] quadrifoglio i never you i know you [125:12] never got to drive it but [125:14] uh felipe felipe of los [125:18] avalos god i feel so bad i can never do [125:20] names right yeah well [125:22] gentlemen just as a simple thank you for [125:23] your great work thanks for the awesome [125:25] contents felipe i apologize you got your [125:26] name wrong and you're an amazing person [125:28] thank you [125:29] i'm gonna bathe in your digital currency [125:31] uh hater man [125:33] i know i already answered that one jake [125:35] for five dollars he's calling us out [125:36] because we did something wrong [125:37] what did we do the dodge caliber was [125:39] unfairly critical [125:40] criticized in the the prior q a first [125:44] oem to realize the future of combats [125:46] were what is chrysler doing right today [125:51] they don't make anything all right [125:54] ignoring chrysler dodge [125:55] stolantis the durango is great you want [125:59] a three-row [126:00] muscle suv the wrangler and gladiator [126:02] are unique that's why [126:04] ford had to copy them with a bronco i'm [126:05] sure toyota [126:07] someone is pushing for something like an [126:08] fj a jeep [126:11] i mean they're very focused products are [126:13] very good [126:14] and they're that's why people love them [126:16] so much because they're focused on what [126:18] it is [126:18] their customer is and all that um i [126:21] would disagree [126:23] on the caliber i'm sorry that i have to [126:26] disagree but i have a magazine [126:28] in my uh box over there when the car and [126:31] driver reviewed the caliber srt versus [126:33] all the other cars [126:35] and while it certainly had some decent [126:39] performance [126:40] that thing was built like a ship [126:43] like dumpster yeah it really was [126:46] nicholas george thank you for the 10 [126:48] donation dwayne [126:50] uh i just bought my first car [126:51] congratulations dwayne it's an s60 i [126:53] love it why don't people [126:54] love volvo sedans well because it's an [126:56] obscure brand [126:58] you agree yeah yoshi for ten dollars is [127:01] mark passing a kidney stone [127:03] i was perfect uh [127:07] javier all right legitimately last like [127:09] three questions javier [127:11] what's your process for creating youtube [127:13] content meditating in the chili's [127:15] bathroom or [127:16] until the amphetamines are made [127:20] are made on the car or topic [127:24] what's your process creatively mark [127:27] simply [127:28] it used to be getting absorbed in the [127:30] product [127:31] now it's it's the same like i don't [127:34] really want to know anything about a car [127:36] until i get it [127:37] and drive it and get absorbed that way [127:39] and pretty quickly because every car is [127:41] the same now [127:43] there's not a lot of excitement because [127:44] they're so similar [127:46] uh so i relish the idea of okay picking [127:49] out who this car is for [127:51] what it's good at what it's not good at [127:54] and then trying to make it appealing to [127:56] watch [127:56] and that's that's about it that's as [127:58] deep as it gets right now [128:00] or a p auckland for 22.23 [128:03] how about a peeing savage geese t-shirt [128:05] in the merch shop [128:06] yeah peeing on myself like missing the [128:09] car that i'm hanging on like [128:11] i just burnt i just burned the bridge [128:13] and i peed on myself [128:15] uh we are doing new t-shirts though yeah [128:17] so let me [128:18] i know there's like not i mean there's [128:20] not a ton of people watching this so [128:22] uh chicago auto pros is still gonna ship [128:24] the shirts but i made a switch because [128:26] as it turned out the original shirts [128:28] that got designed [128:30] were made in the us with foreign [128:32] materials [128:33] and that's my fault because i didn't [128:35] supervise the entire part of the process [128:37] i just thought it would be like okay i [128:39] want to i want a u.s [128:40] source t-shirt wasn't that way so i've [128:42] contacted [128:43] the owner of a company that controls the [128:46] supply chain [128:47] not only do they make their own shirts [128:49] physically they dye their own shirts [128:51] with their own [128:52] solutions their own dyes that are made [128:54] here they [128:55] work with the local farmers that process [128:57] and make their own cotton [128:59] they make me work in the sweatshop yeah [129:00] they make jack work and they make the [129:02] shirts for [129:03] a dollar an hour everything is [129:05] controlled made in america and that's [129:07] what these shirts will be made on [129:09] um 100 and that's going to be the next [129:12] batch and that's going to be the final [129:14] thing going forward and there might be [129:16] like a different logo on one versus [129:18] the other but right now because they [129:19] don't sell a lot it's five thousand [129:22] dollars for one batch [129:23] so if i want to do two colors it's 10 [129:25] grand and that's putting up a lot of [129:26] money for some [129:27] for merch that i don't care about so [129:28] eventually if they sell a lot then i'll [129:31] do different designs but [129:32] we're gonna have two american made [129:34] shirts initially with one logo the other [129:35] one will be [129:36] uh a different color that's it joel [129:38] jason just quickly claims [129:40] it's gonna be a new language or 300 [129:42] reveal tomorrow [129:43] i knew nothing about it and i was just a [129:45] toyota headquarters so [129:46] okay maybe is it not america i have no [129:48] idea is it [129:50] it might be outside of the u.s so have [129:52] no opinion on it because i don't know [129:53] anything about the car well [129:54] we'll sit back and watch like you and [129:56] then pretend like we knew it happened [129:57] because you told us yeah yeah we knew [129:59] about that [130:00] uh m4 comp imola red six-speed for five [130:04] dollars [130:05] what do you think of the 440 grand coupe [130:07] and the m550i [130:08] the 440 grand coupe is hideous looking [130:13] you you don't even care about the bmws [130:15] you like the m550i you're like man this [130:16] car is great i can listen to my bowers [130:19] the 550 though is more like what you [130:21] expect the 5 series to be [130:23] i feel like that's just it's a luxury [130:25] car it's got a v8 it rides good it's [130:28] fast [130:29] everything works in it and it doesn't [130:31] like stand out like you're a douche [130:33] i just feel like it's a classic 5 series [130:35] that's why i like it it's not trying to [130:36] pretend to be anything else [130:37] uh fuzz niner just got the 2020 g g70 [130:41] love the car hope you guys do another [130:42] video on the 2022. we will be getting [130:44] one [130:45] thank you for the ten dollar fuzz i'm [130:46] glad you liked the car thank you squid [130:48] for hire for five dollars [130:49] these are the last three okay um that [130:52] made my day so take my money thanks guys [130:54] i've owned two stingers and this [130:56] at this point the two liter and 3.3 of [130:58] course the 3.3 is [131:00] better but still well i'm i'm oh yeah [131:02] i'm glad you got [131:03] glad you got to experience the 3.3 [131:05] that's it's [131:06] it's a car that is like deceivingly [131:08] quick it does everything pretty good [131:11] and it's a value i guess if you could [131:13] even [131:14] say that anymore jason bostrom for five [131:17] dollars checking in from hawaii [131:18] i need a b-16 for my grandma's four-door [131:21] eg eg [131:23] i'd love to see that one that went to [131:25] like 9 200 rpms and then just made a [131:28] bunch of noise [131:30] uh and these are two thank yous from [131:32] viewers [131:34] isport2k8 thank you for the five dollars [131:36] and billy hughes thank you for the 25 [131:38] bucks billy we really really appreciate [131:40] it [131:41] i'm sorry guys we can't stay on longer [131:42] to answer more questions [131:44] we've already gone over by almost an [131:46] hour and we have to go film the shop [131:48] segment on the tlx type s [131:49] that video comes out friday yeah so [131:51] we're gonna do that i'm going to answer [131:53] one last question [131:54] uh this is from a viewer uh k brewster [131:59] and the question is what is the fr [132:02] rating of this couch this is your couch [132:05] so this couch just to explain this to [132:07] close this out [132:09] originally when i was in my early 20s i [132:11] had an innovative idea for a business [132:14] and this is this didn't pan out but it's [132:18] something i still want to do i want a [132:20] patent for an fr rating for [132:22] furniture like couches explain what you [132:25] fr [132:26] i know what it is okay it's a flatulence [132:29] rating [132:29] and this rating gets sent to us as a [132:32] certifying body [132:33] we test and certify every type of [132:36] seeding surface [132:37] and then you will pay a licensing fee to [132:39] get a number placed [132:40] underneath the couch so somebody could [132:43] learn before they potentially have a [132:45] flatulence event [132:46] how well it absorbs well 10 is just like [132:50] a block of wood like literally the most [132:53] sonic [132:53] and there's a whole bunch of like we [132:55] have like 10 acoustical engineers that [132:57] are gonna [132:57] to kind of work on the the different [132:59] criteria one is like [133:01] completely absorb absorbed you're safe [133:03] to do anything including like a [133:05] full-blown like [133:07] liquid event a 10 is like you know [133:09] you're you're skating on thin ice [133:11] but if you're like in a store or in a [133:14] restaurant you're like oh i don't [133:15] know what to do [133:16] you could drop your phone and then just [133:18] poke your head under the [133:20] under the chair to take a look at what [133:22] the number is before you make a [133:23] conversation mistake [133:25] so that's that's what this new company [133:28] that i'm trying to spin up is so the [133:29] question [133:30] is what is this couch and i would i we [133:32] haven't had the engineers on this one [133:34] but i would say it's like an eight or a [133:36] nine because there's just so much [133:38] like i don't know the material that's in [133:40] here it's probably [133:41] well this couch is also from bob's yeah [133:44] it's from bob's [133:45] so you know god knows what's in here but [133:48] it's pretty absorptive [133:50] the absorption rate is excessive so now [133:53] you know about the fr rating and i think [133:55] one of the few videos i brought up the [133:57] fr rating for the seats on the car [133:59] was the um [134:03] pt cruiser the pt cruiser got an fr [134:07] rating so check that out [134:09] well with that said thank you all for [134:10] watching and we'll talk to you guys soon [134:15] thanks
