[0:00] I am positive that no matter what Eupfo [0:02] Table gives us, this is going to be a [0:04] masterpiece. But that doesn't change the [0:05] fact that I'm still just a little bit [0:07] worried about [0:14] pacing. What is up everyone? Welcome [0:16] back to the channel and to another [0:17] video. Today we are going to be doing a [0:19] deep dive into the movie trilogy that [0:22] has been announced for Demon Slayer. Of [0:24] course, a couple weeks ago, it was [0:25] announced that the first movie is coming [0:27] out in July in Japan and then August and [0:30] September throughout the world. If you [0:31] haven't seen all that news, go to the [0:33] video right here. I'll I'll link it [0:35] right here so you know kind of [0:36] everything that's been going on. You can [0:38] stay up to date on all the Demon Slayer [0:39] news. I've made a couple videos where [0:41] I've talked a little bit about my [0:43] thoughts and my feelings on how this is [0:45] going to be adapted, but I don't think [0:46] I've done like a super deep dive into [0:49] how I think they're going to adapt the [0:51] rest of the story and how I think each [0:52] movie is going to be adapted. So, we're [0:54] going to do that in this video. I've [0:55] gotten a lot of requests for that [0:56] actually. So, no time like the present. [0:59] Right now, before we dive into today's [1:00] video, I'm doing a deep dive into stuff [1:02] that has not been animated yet. So, if [1:04] you are not a manga reader and you do [1:06] not want to get spoiled, this is your [1:07] chance to turn back now. I will be very [1:09] open about manga spoilers in this video [1:12] and talking about things that will [1:13] happen all the way at the end of the [1:14] story. So, please make sure that if you [1:16] do not want to get spoiled, you put a [1:17] pin in this video, come back to it later [1:19] when you read the manga or finish the [1:22] anime. You can check back, see what I [1:23] said, how close I was, or just get my [1:25] thoughts once you've read it. And before [1:27] we dive into today's video, don't forget [1:28] to like the video, subscribe to the [1:29] channel, and leave a comment your [1:30] thoughts on how this is going to be [1:32] adapted. Just keep it respectful as per [1:34] usual. I love good, healthy debates. If [1:36] you disagree with me, that is totally [1:37] cool. I just ask that you're not [1:38] disrespectful about it. You can also [1:40] follow me on social media. I am Hannah [1:42] on Instagram. This is going to be more [1:44] for my cosplay content, my figure [1:46] skating content, and also it's going to [1:47] be probably the first platform to get [1:49] all of my Japan content as I get it. [1:51] Keep in mind, I leave in less than 3 [1:53] weeks. So, that's going to have a lot of [1:55] that fun stuff on there. And then, if [1:56] you're more interested in my random [1:58] thoughts throughout the day, my Demon [2:00] Slayer short form content, you can [2:02] follow me at looking nerdy on X and Tik [2:04] Tok. But with that, let's get into it. [2:06] Okay, so I first really want to talk [2:08] just about how I think the rest of the [2:11] story is going to get adapted because [2:12] there is a lot of back and forth and [2:14] what I think is going to happen here is [2:15] going to affect my predictions of how [2:17] these movies are going to go. So I feel [2:19] like I have to first talk about that and [2:21] then I'll talk about where I think each [2:23] movie is going to end, what I think it's [2:25] going to have and that sort of thing. [2:27] So, it's first very important to note [2:29] that Eufotable and Anniplex have been [2:32] very upfront in stating that this movie [2:34] trilogy covers Infinity Castle arc. [2:36] Their entire time that they've been [2:38] doing this story since the beginning, [2:40] they have always said arc by arc. Come [2:44] out of Tanjido Unwavering Resolve Arc, [2:46] not season 1, Kamado Tanjido unwavering [2:48] resolve arc. Muggan train, not season [2:51] two, Mugan Train, Entertainment District [2:53] Arc, not season 3, Entertainment [2:55] District arc. so on and so forth. They [2:58] don't combine arcs ever. They literally [3:01] have never done that. Even Hashida [3:03] Training, which many people felt should [3:06] have been combined with Swordsmith [3:07] Village, got its own standalone arc. [3:11] Eufo Table and Anniplex, if they are one [3:13] thing, they are consistent. They are [3:14] always very consistent in how they do [3:17] things, in the way that they do their [3:19] marketing and the way that they release [3:21] their seasons and the way they announce [3:23] things. Everything is always the same. [3:25] And for this, they have been stating [3:27] that it is the Infinity Castle Arc movie [3:29] trilogy. For those of you who don't [3:31] know, which I hope you do if you're [3:33] still watching this video, since I [3:34] already put a manga spoiler, but I'm [3:35] once again reminding everyone, I'm about [3:37] to say huge manga spoilers. This is your [3:40] last chance to turn away now. But there [3:41] is an arc after Infinity Castle arc, and [3:44] that is the Sunrise Countdown Arc. These [3:46] are two arcs that are part of the same [3:48] battle technically. However, Sunrise [3:51] Count Arc is not Infinity Castle arc [3:53] because it doesn't take place in the [3:54] Infinity Castle arc. The final part of [3:56] the battle takes place outside because [3:58] the only way to defeat Muzan is to have [4:01] him in the sun, which they can't do in [4:02] the Infinity Castle. So, they got to get [4:04] out of it at some point, right? So, that [4:06] alone just tells me that the movie [4:08] trilogy is going to cover just Infinity [4:10] Castle arc just based off of Eufo [4:12] Table's history with how they've done [4:14] this show in general. On top of that, I [4:16] want to give you some numbers here. So, [4:19] we are at the end of 139, meaning the [4:22] first movie is going to start with 140. [4:24] And there are 205 chapters total in this [4:27] story, meaning there are 65 chapters [4:30] that we have to adapt still to go. [4:32] Muggan Train was 12 chapters and they [4:35] filled that with an hour and 40 minutes. [4:38] So, we're talking roughly 21 to 22 [4:41] chapters per movie if they are planning [4:43] on doing Infinity Castle and Sunrise [4:46] Countdown in this movie trilogy. And [4:48] that just seems like a lot, especially [4:50] because Sunrise Countdown, while it is a [4:52] very good final arc, most people can [4:55] agree it was a little bit rushed. I [4:58] think they would be doing the story a [5:00] disservice if they squeezed all 65 [5:03] chapters into three movies. Unless these [5:05] movies are two and a half hours long, [5:07] which I also don't really see them [5:09] doing. That's not super common. Like, no [5:11] matter what way I shake it, like it [5:13] makes me stressed thinking about them [5:15] trying to squeeze a bunch of battles [5:17] into one movie and squeeze all 65 [5:20] chapters into three movies. Like in my [5:22] opinion, that will do a disservice to [5:24] this story and will make the ending more [5:26] lackluster than it should be because [5:29] they're just squeezing for time. And [5:31] that does genuinely worry me because for [5:33] those of you who don't know, the first [5:36] leak where someone that knew something [5:39] was production somehow, they tweeted [5:41] that Demon Slayer was getting a movie [5:43] trilogy, I think it was back in the [5:45] summer of 2023, they stated that that [5:48] movie trilogy would be the end. They [5:50] were saying that movie trilogy is the [5:52] end of the story. But this was before [5:54] even Hashida training had come out or [5:56] anything like that. So it was just kind [5:58] of assumed that there would be Hashida [6:01] training maybe a season that covers a [6:04] lot of Infinity Castle and then movie [6:05] trilogy or something along those lines. [6:07] But now that we know where Hashida [6:09] training ended within the anime, it just [6:12] doesn't seem realistic to me. I don't [6:14] think that that leak was perfectly [6:16] correct in saying that yes, obviously we [6:18] know it's a movie trilogy that they were [6:20] right there, but I don't think it's [6:21] ending with the trilogy. There is a lot [6:23] of question as to why they would do a [6:26] movie trilogy and then do a fourth movie [6:29] or a season after that. That doesn't [6:31] make a ton of sense. However, [6:34] pacingwise, that makes the most sense [6:36] because I don't think y'all realize 20 [6:38] to 22 chapters per movie. That pacing is [6:42] so fast. Like that is just Eufo Table [6:46] loves to add anime original content. I [6:49] think there needs to be anime original [6:50] content at least in the Sunrise [6:53] Countdown arc. I just I'm I'm stressed [6:56] thinking about the story ending. And I [6:58] know like at the end of the day, I do [7:00] trust EUO Table and I think that there [7:02] is very much a way that it can still [7:04] work out if they do it that way. But I [7:07] do fear for the pacing. I do fear for [7:12] how rushed it'll feel when it already [7:14] felt rushed in the manga. To put this [7:16] into like to cement my opinion, I do [7:19] believe just Infinity Castle is getting [7:22] this movie trilogy and then Sunrise [7:24] Countdown will get something after that. [7:26] We are not going to know. They are not [7:29] going to announce anything along those [7:30] lines until like the third movie comes [7:33] out though because that's the way they [7:34] do things every single time. It's always [7:36] been the day of the season finale of an [7:38] arc where they announce how they're [7:40] adapting the next arc. So for reference, [7:43] the day of the season finale of [7:44] Entertainment District, they announced [7:46] that Swordsmith Village was going to get [7:48] a TV season. And then on the day of the [7:51] season finale of Swordsman Village, they [7:52] announced that Hashida Training was [7:54] going to get a TV season. The day of the [7:56] Hashida Training season finale, they [7:58] announced that Infinity Castle was going [7:59] to get a movie trilogy. So, we're not [8:01] going to get any announcements probably [8:03] till that third movie hits theaters, [8:04] which is probably at least 3 years away. [8:07] So, we're not going to know that answer [8:10] for a long time. However, I do think [8:12] after the first movie, we'll have a much [8:16] more solidified idea because we'll know [8:19] what that movie covered and we'll be [8:22] able to kind of do the math and be able [8:24] to determine if they got enough done [8:26] where it's just going to be a trilogy to [8:28] the end or if they didn't get enough [8:29] done. And it's obvious that Sunrise [8:31] Countdown's going to be its own entity. [8:33] My personal opinion is Infinity Castle [8:36] movie trilogy and then Sunrise Countdown [8:38] a [8:39] secondary season. I would like a season [8:42] honestly. I think it needs more than a [8:43] movie because again it's like 20 [8:45] chapters long. Cramming that into a [8:47] movie is only going to make the most [8:48] rushed arc in this story more rushed [8:50] which would not be good. Okay, so with [8:52] the idea that just Infinity Castle will [8:54] be this movie trilogy, let's break down [8:56] the first movie. So, like I said, the [8:58] end of Hashida training ended with 139 [9:01] and Infinity Castle starts with 140. The [9:03] chapter of 140 has a lot of check-ins. [9:06] We pretty much check in with every [9:07] character. It starts with Tanjido and [9:09] Gu. And they have to kind of work their [9:12] way through some lower ranked demons. It [9:15] says that they have the strength of [9:17] lower moons, but because Tanjido is [9:19] hosted level at this point, they're able [9:21] to get through them fairly quickly. Can [9:23] they add some to this just because they [9:26] want to probably spend a lot of time [9:27] with Tanjido to remind us that he's the [9:29] main character? Yes. But I don't think [9:31] it's going to take that much time. I [9:33] think that probably will be with Tanjino [9:35] and Guu at the very beginning for about [9:37] fiveish minutes. And then it just kind [9:39] of very briefly shows each character as [9:42] they kind of run to their respective [9:45] fights. It also shows Sonomy totally [9:48] crashing out, which I'm actually very [9:49] excited to see. Guyome also has some [9:52] dialogue where he's talking about [9:54] Kagaya, but then like Genya, Enoske, [9:57] Zenitsu, and all them just get a very [9:58] brief panel where we just see them [10:00] running somewhere before we get to the [10:03] heart of I think this first movie, Shobu [10:05] versus Doma. Now, Shobu versus Doma is a [10:08] fight that is fairly quick. It only [10:10] takes place about two and a half [10:12] chapters, but I can definitely see them [10:16] adding time to this one, especially [10:18] because we finally really dig into [10:20] Shobu's backstory. And if there's one [10:22] thing Eufo Table loves, they love [10:24] spending time on backstories. So, even [10:27] though it's only two and a half pages, [10:29] and I'm talking about from the time [10:31] Shobu walks in and sees Doma to the time [10:34] that Kana like starts to crash out. She [10:37] walks in, she does her first attack, [10:39] Doma teases her, we see her get angry, [10:41] but then we go to Zenitu. So, I'm [10:43] talking about from the time that it goes [10:45] to Zenitu, I still think that'll [10:47] probably take at least 30 minutes with [10:50] some added anime original content before [10:53] we head into Zenitu versus Kaku. Now, [10:55] when it comes to Zenitu versus Kaaku, a [10:58] lot of people on the internet think this [11:00] arc or this battle really deserves more [11:03] time and it needs a little bit extra [11:05] content than what it got in the manga. I [11:08] don't know if I necessarily agree with [11:09] that. I think thematically the point of [11:11] this 1v one is that Zenitzu claps Kyaku [11:14] very quickly because he pulled out a [11:16] move that Kyaku had absolutely no way of [11:18] predicting would happen. It is to show [11:20] that Zenitsu has gotten stronger than [11:23] this guy that thought he was stronger [11:24] than Zanitsu this entire time, which [11:26] then led him to become a demon. So, I [11:28] think that the whole point of this is [11:30] that it's supposed to happen quickly, [11:32] but I do still think that they will add [11:35] to the backstory. We see more of [11:37] Zenitu's backstory. We see Kaaku meet up [11:41] with Kokibbo, which I thought was [11:43] probably going to get a little bit more [11:44] time cuz that's important. And I do [11:46] think they're going to give it a little [11:47] bit more time when Zenitsu sees Gramps [11:50] like in the afterlife when he's close to [11:52] death. But from the time that Zenitu [11:53] shows up to the time that Yoshiro saves [11:55] him and we move on from it is also about [11:58] two and a half chapters with a brief [12:01] touch base with Tanido and Guu like in [12:04] the middle of that as well. So I think [12:06] that is also going to take about 30ish [12:09] minutes. And I forgot to mention that I [12:11] think altogether that brief check-in of [12:13] that first chapter is probably going to [12:15] take altogether about 10 minutesish. I [12:17] can just see them really taking their [12:19] time with checking in with each [12:21] character to remind us that this is a [12:23] battle of everyone, not just focusing on [12:26] the one person, like the one battle that [12:28] we're going to focus on for a little [12:29] while. So, we're already at an hour and [12:32] 10 minutes of run time. And in my [12:35] opinion, those predictions are on the [12:36] low end. I really do think they might [12:38] add to it and might it it might really [12:41] be like 40 minutes for each battle which [12:44] would then add another 20 minutes to [12:45] that run time which brings us to an hour [12:47] and a half which is pretty much going to [12:50] be I think the runtime of the first [12:52] movie. Now, after the end of the battle [12:56] of Zenitu versus Kaaku, we do have Akaza [13:00] show up and then we see Tamayo begging [13:04] for for them to hurry up because she's [13:06] going to get absorbed and she's not [13:07] going to be able to hang on for much [13:08] longer. I think they could also space [13:10] that out. And I think that'll be the [13:12] end. I think that's the natural end of [13:14] the first movie, either with Akaza just [13:17] coming through and showing up or Tamayo [13:20] begging them to please hurry. [13:22] Personally, I think that both of these [13:24] battles do need the justice of having a [13:27] little bit of additional time, [13:29] especially the Shinoba versus Doma. And [13:31] I think that no matter what way I look [13:33] at it, because both of these fights have [13:35] a lot of backstory in it, EUO Table is [13:38] always consistent. They're probably [13:40] going to add a lot of runtime. And [13:42] backstories take a lot more time than [13:43] battles themselves because it's more [13:46] dialogueheavy than a battle where it's [13:48] action and it just happens very quickly. [13:51] So truly, if I can really predict here, [13:54] I think that the first movie will end at [13:57] the end of chapter 147, which seems very [14:00] short, but I think it makes sense when [14:03] we talk about the next ones. Okay, so [14:05] movie 2 is going to be focused heavily [14:08] on Tanjido and Gu versus Akaza. Tanjido [14:11] is the main character. Akaza is a demon [14:14] that we all have beef with and Akaza has [14:17] the longest backstory that Euo Table [14:19] loves to take their time on. Now, the [14:21] Tanjuno and Gu versus Akaza fight goes [14:24] from 147 to 158. Exceptionally longer [14:29] than the other two, that includes Akaz's [14:32] backstory. In the case of this fight, [14:35] this is one that I don't think they need [14:36] to add a ton. I think it's clear that [14:39] Goto really took their time with this [14:42] fight. So, I don't necessarily think [14:46] that this one is going to be that much [14:48] longer than Shobu versus Doma and [14:50] Zenitsu versus Kaaku because this one [14:53] doesn't need added content. That being [14:56] said, it still is going to take longer. [14:59] I think it's going to be the first hour [15:01] of the second movie just altogether. [15:03] Very important, very long. And also just [15:06] keep in mind from 147 to 158, we don't [15:09] check in with anyone else until halfway [15:10] through 157, which is when the fight of [15:14] Akuza completely ends because after that [15:17] we do see Kokoshibbo very briefly, but [15:19] then we get into Kano and then Enoske [15:21] versus Doma. And now I do think that [15:25] this second movie will end at the end of [15:27] chapter 162 when Doma is beheaded by [15:31] Kano and Enoske. I think that is a [15:34] fairly good cliffhanger. It's not the [15:36] type of cliffhanger where it's like [15:38] you're truly wondering where we're going [15:40] from here. It's pretty obvious that it [15:42] means that they defeated him, but it [15:45] still is a cliffhanger like, "Oh my [15:46] gosh, they got him, but what happens [15:48] next? Is he going to die that way? Is he [15:50] going to pull an Akaza?" So, I feel like [15:52] that's a natural end to it, which means [15:55] that the Doma versus Kano and Enoske [15:59] fight would take about 45 minutes. And [16:02] there we have an hour and 45 minutes of [16:04] run time. Covered movie two took a lot [16:06] less going back and forth because once [16:08] we get to that Tanjo and Guio fight, we [16:11] just sit there for a while. But I feel [16:13] like that's natural because I think [16:14] these two fights, unlike Shobu versus [16:17] Doma and Zenitu versus Kaaku, they don't [16:20] need as much anime original content as [16:23] those fights do. If that sentence made [16:25] sense. Now, that means for movie 3, [16:27] we'll get the tail end of that fight [16:29] where Doma gets like a little bit of [16:31] backstory and then Shobu is like, "Come [16:33] to hell with me, you little bastard." [16:35] Both Enoske and Cano have severe fallout [16:38] after this fight because it means so [16:40] much to them. We touch base once again [16:42] with Tano and [16:44] Guu. Shirtless Gu. Do I have to wait [16:47] till movie 3 for this? We'll see. We [16:49] very briefly touch base with Mitsuri and [16:52] Obanai versus Nakime, but I don't think [16:54] we're going to get a lot of time on it [16:56] because that'll be for later on in the [16:58] movie. And then we get the fight against [17:01] Kokosbo. The fight against Kokosbo ends [17:04] with chapter [17:08] 179. So that means that the Kokushibbo [17:10] fight starts midway through 165 and goes [17:13] to 179. So it is chapter-wise the [17:16] longest fight of all of them. But again, [17:19] I think this one will take about an hour [17:21] of run time. They don't really need to [17:23] add anything to it. There's good mix of [17:25] backstory and action with this fight. [17:28] So, with the brief check-ins before [17:30] this, like the final little bit of Doma, [17:33] the check-in with Tanido and Guu, and [17:36] then getting to this fight through the [17:37] end, I think we'll be at about an hour [17:39] and 10 minutes. And after that fight, we [17:42] of course find Muzan, and we fight back [17:46] and forth a little bit. And then we get [17:48] above ground and there are two places I [17:51] can see this ending. One is a decent [17:53] cliffhanger and the other one is a [17:55] really mean cliffhanger and that is [17:57] either the end of 183 where it shows [18:00] them all like exploding above land after [18:04] they like Yushidto kind of gets them out [18:07] or the end of 184 with the declaration [18:10] from man that Tanido is dead. That would [18:13] be a very mean cliffhanger, but I think [18:17] it could work the way they wanted to. [18:19] But that's kind of how I see everything [18:22] shaking out. I really think that it's [18:24] just Shobu and Doma and then Zenitsu and [18:27] Kaaku that needs anime original content. [18:30] The rest of the fights don't need [18:32] anything original. I think Infinity [18:34] Castle is paced very well. I think that [18:37] both Tanjido and Guio versus Akaza and [18:40] Kokoshibbo versus all of them, I think [18:42] both of those fights should take about [18:44] an hour of run time. When you think [18:46] about when they have different arcs, you [18:49] know, you think about the fact that like [18:51] Entertainment District technically is [18:53] all one fight, right? From the time that [18:55] fight starts, which is episode 4, till [18:58] it ends, which is episode 10, that's six [19:00] episodes of 20 minutes. So, an hour [19:03] without any breaks really makes sense [19:06] for those two very important fights. And [19:09] that's why I think the run time is going [19:10] to be about an hour. Now, I'm going to [19:12] just throw it out there. These are just [19:14] predictions. I could be totally off the [19:16] mark and they could be throwing Sunrise [19:19] Countdown into this trilogy as well. I [19:21] just think that there's it it's going to [19:24] be rushed through if they don't pace it [19:27] the way I pretty much said. So, with it [19:29] ending, I'm going to just say it now. I [19:31] think they're going to be mean. I think [19:32] the movie is going to end with man [19:34] saying that Tanjido is dead. And that's [19:36] my final answer. The first movie is [19:38] really going to tell us a lot once that [19:40] movie comes out and I know where it [19:41] ends. I will definitely have a lot more [19:44] opinions. But those are my opinions for [19:46] now. Again, if you disagree with me, [19:48] that's totally fine. We all have [19:49] different ways of how they're going to [19:50] do this. It's a fun conversation to [19:52] have. So, if you disagree, if you agree, [19:55] let me know in the comments below. Just [19:56] keep it respectful. I'm totally down to [19:58] have some debates just as long as [19:59] they're healthy. But I think that's [20:00] going to be it for today's video. If you [20:02] liked it, don't forget to like the [20:03] video, subscribe to the channel, leave a [20:04] comment your thoughts on the video, and [20:06] also follow me on social media at Henna [20:08] on Instagram and looking nerdy on Tik [20:10] Tok and X. But with that, thank you so [20:12] much for watching today's video. M
