## Summary

Control Resonant is a richly packed open-world game set in Manhattan, offering a vast array of activities and customization options. This video provides seven essential tips for new players, covering weapon selection, quest order, combat mechanics, and resource management to help ease the initial overwhelming experience.

### Key Points

- **Weapon Form Selection** [00:15] — At the start, players choose primary and secondary weapon forms from a pool of three each. This decision is not permanent; unused forms can be unlocked later.
- **Reset and Assist Mode** [01:09] — Players can reset Dylan's entire moveset using a reset item (three provided at start, purchasable later). Assist mode allows tweaking game systems for easier play.
- **Priority Fault Missions** [02:01] — Complete fault missions in Evacuation and West Incursion zones first to unlock gravity alter and traversal options, making navigation easier. Then tackle Central to unlock combat abilities dealing burn damage effective against mold enemies.
- **Power Selection Freedom** [03:01] — When choosing powers, you can undo choices for free as long as you don't leave the Mind Palace. Test abilities in the gap area before committing.
- **Resonance Difficulty Increase** [03:27] — Defeating a resonance resets enemies in that zone and increases their difficulty. Avoid tackling resonances if struggling with an area's horde until leveled up.
- **Falter and Dominance Mechanics** [03:53] — Falter is an enemy meter that fills when attacking; when full, you can execute instantly, activating Dominance which boosts damage output. Focus on faltering smaller enemies to build Dominance against larger foes.
- **Resource Management** [04:55] — Resources drop from enemies/chests and can be bought from vendors. Pin desired upgrades to track needed resources. Be cautious with spending 'source' as it's also used for upgrades.

### Conclusion

Control Resonant offers deep customization and challenging combat, but these seven tips—from prioritizing certain missions to mastering Falter and Dominance—can significantly smooth the early game experience.

## Transcript

Control Resonant is set in a richly packed open world Manhattan, folding in on itself with myriad things to see and do. It can be pretty overwhelming after you take your first steps out of the oldest house,
so here are seven things we wish we knew about the game before playing. This video is presented by The Rabbit Hall, available now on Steam. The very first thing that you do in Control Resonant is gain the aberrant,
a slab of metal that can transform into a variety of weapons for Dylan to wield. In the opening moments of the game, you'll be asked to pick both primary and secondary weapon forms,
each option selected from a pool of three. Don't sweat this decision. You'll be able to unlock the forms you don't use later on in the game. As you progress and unlock those new weapon forms,
as well as additional abilities, combo finishes, upgrades, and more, the game offers a wealth of ways to customize the way you want it to play. And if you start building Dylan a certain way,
you can completely reset his entire moveset by using a reset item. You get one of those or three at the start of the game, but can later purchase them from vendors, and you also gain them when defeating the game monstrous resonance so you never locked into a single play In addition make sure to check out the assist mode to make tweaks to the game systems
Control Resonance can be tricky, particularly in its opening hours, so mess around with its wealth of options if you run into trouble. After making your way through the opening hour or so of the game, you'll be given multiple
mainline quests that you are free to tackle as you please. One of those quest lines sees Dylan trying to get a lock on his sister Jessie's location after she disappeared at the very start of the game.
These missions will take you to Faults, spaces between dimensions where Dylan can learn a handful of very useful techniques. You should do the ones in the Evacuation and West Incursion zones before doing anything
else, as completing these will give you gravity alter and traversal options that make getting around much easier. After those two fault missions, you should tackle the resident in
Central. Doing so will unlock one of two combat abilities that you get to pick from, both of which deal burn damage, which is very effective when facing off against the game's poison
slinging mold enemies. Speaking of picking powers, it's worth reminding you that when When you get the chance to pick a power as long as you don leave the gap Dylan Mind Palace you can undo any choice you made for free There an area in the gap that allows you to test out your abilities so it always
worth spending the extra time trying each power out and seeing what you like before committing to them. As mentioned before, you have a lot of freedom when it comes to the order you tackle the
game's mainline quests. However, while we recommend taking down the central resonance early, defeating resonance resets enemies within their zone, as well as increasing those enemies' difficulty.
So if you're having trouble with a specific area's horde, avoid tackling its resonance until you've leveled up a bit, because it will only get more difficult after that.
Two of the things that can make combat more manageable and more fun are Falter and Dominance. Falter is an additional meter tied to each enemy.
When you attack them, their health meter will deplete, but their Falter meter might increase, depending on a number of factors. Once an enemy's Falter meter fills up, you can instantly execute them,
which activates Dylan's Dominance. Dominance only lasts for a brief moment but it significantly increases Dylan damage output and is especially helpful when dealing with larger enemies which must be destroyed in order to stop the smaller enemies from replicating As such focusing on falter and dominance when upgrading
and unlocking new aspects of the villain can turn him into a powerhouse, and smaller enemies are much easier to falter. So while you want to take down the larger foes, defeating their
smaller spawn and tapping into Dylan's dominance is a great way to achieve that goal. Control Resonance has a lot of resources, too much if you ask me personally. Resources
naturally drop from enemies and chests, and you can also buy them from vendors around Manhattan. But what should you focus on? Well, the answer actually depends on what weapons you have and what artifacts you want to build.
The easiest way to keep track is to quote unquote pin the next upgrade you are shooting for. This will add a yellow marker for the resources needed, making it much easier to know what
you need to buy. Do be careful when buying resources from vendors though, as the money you spend called source is also needed for upgrades. So if you overspend on resources, you might not actually have enough source left over to actually get the upgrade you want.
And those are seven tips we wish we knew before playing Control Resonance. For more on the game, stay right here on GameSpot.
