[00:01] phone from Samsung this year. This is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. Now, the naming changed a little bit. The Z Fold 8 Ultra is a sequel to Fold 7. This is a totally new category. Samsung is calling it like a rebirth, basically, of the
[00:13] Fold series. And so, the Fold 8 is bringing back this really cool passport design that I was a big fan of when the original Pixel Fold came out. A lot of Microsoft was getting in on this. It's a cool form factor, but back then, the
[00:27] technology just wasn't quite ready. Hinges weren't strong enough. It was a little bit too thick and bulky and heavy. But finally, we have the tech absolutely awesome. I think it's going to be great for both men and women. It's
[00:41] powerful. And the biggest benefit of this is that the aspect ratio actually you unfold it, you can watch a video without giant black bars, wasted space it, like I said, it's a much more compact phone. So, I have a lot of
[00:57] this video, as well as we'll talk about what's what are the internals, the pros, before buying this phone. Which by the way, if you are at any point interested in the description down below. It's a

[01:23] down below if you're interested in buying this phone. Now, let's break this down into a couple key parts. The first thing I want to talk about the shape, talking about the features and of course the internals. So, on the outside, we
[01:36] have a 10 by 16 display. It's a little bit squattier than, for example, the S26 Ultra. It's definitely a bit shorter, but it didn't feel like it was a weird You're still still able to like do everything on there. And it's not like I
[01:50] hands. Maybe my hands are like a a little bit larger than average, but it phone very easily. It didn't feel like a tiny phone, but it also didn't feel like an unmanageable phone. And then when you open it up, you get a 4x3 or 3x4 aspect
[02:04] ratio, depending on which way you rotate it. For reference, a video like this is it. For reference, a video like this is 9x16, so on the cover, 10x16's really close to this. On the inside, 3x4 is also really close to 9x16. The inside
[02:18] just like the Ultra version of this phone, and it has 3,000 nits peak previous foldable phones from Samsung. The display is 7.6 in, so 7.6 in is
[02:30] significantly larger than average phones, of course. So in summary, that experience on the inside. So this one is technically what Samsung's calling the lightest foldable ever at 201 g, which is actually even lighter than the Flip,
[02:43] Flips were better for like pocketability. Like a lot of women had like pockets are are going to be a little shallower and smaller. And so in people who liked the Flip because of the size to experience the benefits of the
[02:58] Fold in the past, where you have a much bigger display and you get multitasking you know, not compromising. It's kind of a really nice middle ground where you the cameras go, this has two on the back, so you don't get a telephoto. I
[03:12] but when you're trying to, you know, make it a compact phone, that makes sense. They're both 50 megapixels, your wide and your ultra-wide. So Flip cameras, which a lot of people really like. And there's a lot you can
[03:25] you are able to like set this up in like a tent mode, for example, and take photos. You can set it up as a tripod vertically and take photos of yourself. or the front display essentially when you unfold it, so you can take selfies
[03:40] using the best camera on your phone, and then also see what's actually in view. these foldables, especially with cameras, and I think that really has a have a selfie lens. Actually, you have two selfie lenses. You have one on the
[03:54] you have another one on the inside display. Both of them are just going to see it on the top. And because of that, you actually have dual recording on here, so you can record from the rear lens and the front lens at the same time
[04:06] if you're doing like a a reaction video, like you and a friend are trying a new could set that up pretty easily. Another new feature is called My Fan Cam, which essentially lets you crop in and track something within the video. So, if you
[04:20] just record a video, say you're at like your kids' sporting event or whatever, whatever, and you just record them with with the phone, you can later go into the gallery, tap on the video, tap on edit, then tap on the little AI button,
[04:34] and choose My Fan Cam. It'll select all the characters in the video. You can tap on who you want to track, and then it crops it into a social media native change the aspect ratio if you wanted to, and it tracks them throughout the
[04:46] whole video. It actually does a pretty good job, especially since if you're filming, you know, wide landscape aspect ratio, and you want to put it on that, it's just nice that it can track it it automatically crops it down and
[04:59] track something around the entire time. Honestly, a pretty useful feature and for the Fold 8. I've got the spec sheet right in front of me. The inside display is a 7.6-in display. I think I did actually mention that. The outside
[05:12] display is 5 and 1/2 in, and it's only full HD plus, so 1080p, but honestly, the inside display anyway, so I think that's fine. Both are 120 Hz. The water really good for water resistance. The
[05:26] sense. There is a hinge, of course. And for materials, you have Gorilla Glass 3 ceramic on the cover display. You've got Victus 2 on the back, and the body is made out of aluminum. So, and of course, pricing, this is coming in $100 cheaper

[05:52] Um it is definitely a steep price, but it's a pretty solid foldable. So, if you could be worth it. Under the hood with this phone, big benefit, we have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, the most powerful chip you're going to get
[06:05] in any Android phone, and I think that is really nice because, you know, this here, for example. So, very efficient, very, you know, very powerful Snapdragon chip. That's a big thumbs up. The battery in here is also pretty sizable
[06:18] considering how thin and light this phone is at 4,800 mA hours. We have 45 W fast charging uh for wired charging, and for wireless, because, of course, this have 20 W wireless charging, and I believe we should have reverse wireless
[06:31] charging as well, in case you need to top off like your earbuds on the back or something. This comes in four different colors. I think these colors are like like the cream and the graphite, just kind of bland colors, and they have some
[06:43] Um they are like kind of a purplish, I think violet's what they're calling it, and they have more of a greenish hue. I think they call it pistachio. I don't those linked down below if you guys want to see the other colors, but uh yeah, so

[07:09] didn't like the outer display with a little tiny keyboard, and you wanted something that was better for viewing media on the inside, this absolutely serves that purpose. And anybody who wanted a smaller, compact phone, like
[07:22] the Flip, for example, but wanted extra utility, this is again giving you the multitasking on the inside of having that wider screen. So, on both sides, it really makes sense to me that this is coming out. Uh I guess, wait, one other
[07:34] earlier. Kind of the elephant in the room, I'm sure the comments, people who probably blown up the comments right now, saying this is just a copy of the now, saying this is just a copy of the iPhone. Um, and I don't know. I mean, I
[07:47] like, did they do this because Apple is allegedly launching an iPhone that is months? Maybe they did, I don't know. Maybe it's just a crazy coincidence, but this is not really developed by either one of those. You like I said, other
[08:01] phones were using the passport size and form factor back in like 2022 and 2023 from like the Pixel Fold and other ones like that. But, I liked it then and I with a thinner, stronger hinge, and you know, improved cameras and everything
