Here's how I'd use Amazon affiliate marketing in 2026 if I was starting from scratch with no audience and no products of my own. First, I'd pick one clear content angle where people constantly search for product recommendations. Things like home office gear, podcast setups,
kitchen tools, student productivity, lots of different things. Doesn't matter what it is. What matters is that it's product-driven and searchable. Then I'd build a simple website or YouTube channel where every post answers one question. What is the best X for Y?
What is the best webcam for Zoom calls? The best standing desk for tall people? that kind of stuff. For the first 30 days, I just use Amazon's affiliate program. It's easy to join. You can get all your links in one place and add your affiliate links in. But while I'm doing that,
I'd also start building a spreadsheet of every brand I mentioned, checking if they have a better affiliate program that offers things directly. So once I've gotten some traffic or clicks coming in, I'd swap the Amazon links for the higher ticket brand ones that pay a lot higher and better
commission rates than Amazon. So that's the real way to do it. Amazon's a catch-all, but you're not going to build wealth off of 2% to 3% commissions.
