[0:00] Hey everyone, it's Xcarife here. In this [0:03] video, I'm going to walk you through the [0:05] complete and updated installation of my [0:08] LVUI XCarlife UI profile. Since the last [0:11] install guide, a lot has [music] changed [0:13] with the midnight update. So, in this [0:16] video, I'm going to replace all previous [0:19] installation videos. But before we jump [0:22] into the installation itself, there are [0:24] two important [music] things that I [0:26] would like to mention. First of all, my [0:28] profile is designed with performance in [0:31] mind without compromising functionality. [0:34] Everything is bundled through a single [0:37] installer which keeps your add-on setup [0:39] clean and your game running smoothly. [0:42] Secondly, the interface is primarily [0:45] built for a [music] 1440p screen [0:48] resolution. If you are playing on a [0:50] lower resolution, that is absolutely [0:53] fine. But some elements may appear [0:56] slightly smaller and might need some [0:58] minor adjustments. But as long as you [1:00] follow this video from start to finish [1:03] and don't skip any steps, everything [1:05] should work without issues. With that [1:08] out of the way, let's first go over the [1:11] required add-ons. [music] These are [1:13] essential and should not be skipped. [1:16] Now, the core of the entire interface is [1:18] LVUI. And on top of that, I use the [1:21] details damage meter, which is still [1:23] more powerful and flexible than the [1:26] default Blizzard damage meters in [1:28] retail. I also recommend Wine Tools, [1:31] which adds some extra features that [1:34] integrate seamlessly with LVY. Lastly, [1:37] there is also Big Wix, which uh [1:39] basically replaces your [music] Blizzard [1:42] default boss warnings. Now, Big Wix is [1:45] of course optional. So, if you prefer to [1:48] use the default Blizzard warnings, you [1:51] can simply skip this [music] add-on. [1:53] Now, besides the required add-ons, there [1:56] are also a few optional ones that I [1:58] highly recommend if you want the [2:00] interface to look exactly like mine. The [2:03] Platinator name plates is a clean and [2:06] fully customizable replacement for the [2:09] default Blizzard [music] name plates. [2:11] But keep in mind that when installing my [2:13] profile, the built-in LVUI name plates [2:16] are disabled by default. I also use the [2:19] add-on called the cooldown manager [2:22] centered, which allows me to track my [2:24] cooldowns in a way that fits perfectly [2:27] within the interface. And sensei clause [2:30] resource bar works together with the [2:33] cooldown manager and provides the [2:36] resource bars. And finally, the mask [2:39] together with mask gate adds a glossy [2:42] finish to your action bars, buffs, and [2:45] debuffs. With all of that covered, the [2:48] first real step in the installation [2:50] process is creating a backup of your WTF [2:54] folder. This gives us a clean starting [2:56] point and ensures none of your existing [2:59] settings are lost in case [music] [3:01] something goes wrong. Now, to do this, [3:04] you have to open your bottle.net [3:06] launcher. Click the cog wheel icon that [3:09] you can find next to the play button and [3:11] choose the option to show in explorer. [3:14] For this example, I'm using the retail [3:17] version. Now, inside the game folder, [3:20] simply rename your current WTF folder to [3:24] something like WTF old. And this way, [3:27] your old settings are safely [music] [3:29] stored. Next, we need to download the [3:32] add-ons. You can do this through Curse [3:34] Forge, Wow Up, or any other add-on [3:37] manager that you prefer. And you will [3:39] also find all the add-on links and [3:41] import strings on my website, which is [3:44] linked in the video description. Now, at [3:47] this point, make sure that you download [3:49] the core add-on, which is LVUI, along [3:51] with details, damage meter, and wine [3:54] tools. If you plan on using the optional [3:57] add-ons, now is also the time to [3:59] download platinator name plates bigwix [4:03] cooldown manager centered sensei class [4:06] resource bar mask and mask gate. Once [4:10] the add-ons are downloaded, we can now [4:13] install LVUI itself. In this video, I'm [4:16] going to show you the manual [4:18] installation methods, but you can also [4:20] install LVY automatically through the [4:23] Wow Up add-on manager if you prefer. So, [4:26] go to the LVY website and download the [4:29] zip file. Open up the zip file and then [4:32] head back to your bottle.net launcher. [4:35] Click the cog wheel icon next to the [4:37] play button and choose to show in [4:39] explorer and navigate to the interface [4:42] folder followed by the add-ons folder [4:44] and paste in the three LVUI folders [4:47] directly into the add-ons folder. So now [4:51] that we have everything installed, [4:52] [music] it is time to launch the game. [4:55] If you see an introduction window when [4:57] you are logging in, that is completely [4:59] normal and it simply means that you are [5:02] using a fresh WTF folder. At the [5:05] character selection screen, click the [5:07] menu at the top and choose add-ons. Here [5:09] it is important to disable all add-ons [5:12] and only enable the ones that are needed [5:15] for the setup. So make sure that [5:17] cooldown manager centered mask all LVUI [5:21] modules play donator bigwix details [5:25] damage meter and the sensei class [5:28] resource bar is enabled. Once you enter [5:32] the [music] game world, you will see [5:33] several add-on setup pop-ups. You can [5:36] close all of them except for the LVUI [5:39] setup. This setup is a one-time process [5:42] and is especially important if this is [5:45] your first time that you are installing [5:47] LVUI. But before you continue with the [5:50] LVUI setup, you have to click the [5:52] Playtonator button as the add-on of [5:55] preference for this setup. Your game [5:57] will do a first reload and after the [6:00] reload, it's time to set up your sears, [6:03] which is also a required step and should [6:06] not be skipped. Continue through the [6:09] setup until you reach the UI scale [6:12] option where I recommend using the [6:15] autoscale feature. After that, you can [6:17] continue through the remaining steps as [6:20] they are not essential for this setup. [6:22] When you click finished, the game will [6:25] do a second reload. After the reloads, [6:28] my Xcode UI LVY profile installer will [6:32] appear. And this is also a one-time [6:35] setup. Click continue to begin and start [6:38] by importing the profile by clicking the [6:41] button underneath the picture followed [6:43] by the private profile in the third step [6:46] of the setup. When you get a message to [6:50] override your settings, simply click on [6:52] accept and reload your game. You will [6:55] then see the option to install my [6:57] details damage meter profile if you [6:59] would like to use it. The omni CD step [7:02] can be skipped in retail as this is only [7:05] relevant for classic. Next, click [7:08] [music] the setup wine tools button to [7:10] install that profile as well. After [7:13] that, you will see the Big Wix setup [7:15] step which installs [music] my Big Wix [7:18] profile if you are using the add-on. [7:20] Once that is done, click finished and [7:22] the game will reload one last time. At [7:25] this point, most of the interface is [7:28] already fully configured, but there are [7:30] a few optional steps left to fine-tune [7:33] everything. [music] [7:34] The first one is importing the Blizzard [7:36] edit mode layout. This step is important [7:39] if you want the cooldown manager and the [7:42] sensei class resource bar to line up [7:45] exactly the way as I have them set up. [7:48] So, head over to my website, copy the [7:51] Blizzard edit mode import string, [7:54] [music] then go back in game, hit [7:56] escape, open the edit mode, and click [7:58] [music] the drop-down menu at the top [8:01] and choose import. Paste in the import [8:04] string and give the layout a name such [8:06] as Xcar Live UI, and make sure that it [8:09] is selected as your active layout. Now, [8:13] we can move on to the cooldown related [8:16] profiles. First, we will import the [8:18] cooldown manager centered profile. [8:21] Therefore, head back to my website and [8:24] copy the import string. Then, in game, [8:26] press escape, open the add-ons menu, and [8:30] from there, open the cooldown manager [8:32] centered. Go to profiles and import the [8:36] profile. Give it a proper name and click [8:39] import. Once it is imported, your game [8:41] will ask you to reload and the cooldown [8:44] profile should be imported. After that, [8:47] we will do the same for the sensei class [8:50] resource bar. Again, copy the import [8:53] string from my website. Then [music] go [8:56] back in game, open the add-ons menu, and [8:58] select the sensei class resource bar and [9:02] import [music] [9:02] the profile. Once both of the profiles [9:05] are imported, you should see that the [9:08] cooldown manager and the resource bars [9:11] align nicely with the player and the [9:13] target frames. To make sure that the [9:16] cooldowns are displayed in the correct [9:19] order, I use the profiles that are [9:21] created by Luxtos. [music] [9:23] Of course, full credit goes to him as he [9:26] is a trusted source for these setups. On [9:29] my website, you can also find a link to [9:32] his cooldown manager profiles. From his [9:35] website, you can simply choose your [9:37] class, copy the import string, [music] [9:39] then in game, open the Blizzard cooldown [9:42] manager options, open the drop-down [9:45] menu, and click import. [music] [9:47] Paste the string. Give the profile a [9:50] clear name such as blood decay in my [9:52] example, and make sure that the profile [9:55] is selected as your main profile. Upon [9:58] doing so, it will completely reorder [10:01] your spells in the right order based on [10:04] the importance. Before we continue, [10:07] there is one quick but important tip [10:09] that I would like to make. Make sure [10:12] that your Blizzard settings for the [10:14] tracked buffs essential cooldowns and [10:17] your utility cooldowns match what you [10:20] see on screen. If these settings are not [10:24] configured correctly, parts of your [10:26] setup may not work as [music] intended. [10:29] For this step, I do recommend pausing [10:31] the video and copy the settings shown [10:35] just to make sure that everything is set [10:37] up correctly. Next, let's take care of [10:40] the name plates. Head back to my website [10:42] and click the download button, which [10:45] will then redirect you to the wag.io IO [10:48] platoninator [music] [10:49] profile that is created by Jundy's. I [10:53] have been using his name plates for a [10:55] very long time and they're [music] also [10:57] very clean matching my setup. So full [11:01] credit go to Jundies for these name [11:03] plates in game. Go to your platinator [11:06] options [music] via the normal menu or [11:09] by typing forward/playy in your chat [11:12] window. Click import and paste in the [11:15] profile string and choose the option to [11:17] [music] make a new profile. Give it a [11:20] proper name. In this case, I'm going to [11:22] call it jundies. And then we have [11:25] arrived at the final step, which is [11:27] adding the glossy effect to your action [11:30] bars using mask. Type forward/mask in [11:34] your chat window. Click the LVY section [11:37] and select the Kate skin from the [11:40] drop-down menu and make sure that the [11:43] gloss option is enabled, which will [11:45] apply the effect to your action bars. At [11:48] this point, your Xcar life UI setup [11:51] should be complete and fully configured. [11:54] If you run into any issues or have [11:56] questions, please feel free to join my [11:59] Discord server and I will be happy to [12:02] help you out. If you prefer installing [12:04] the profiles manually without using the [12:08] installer, all import strings are also [12:11] available on my website for advanced [12:13] users, of course, completely for free. [12:16] And that's it, my friends. If you found [12:18] this guide helpful, feel free to give it [12:21] a thumbs up. Don't forget to subscribe [12:23] for more World of Farcraft content.
