## Summary

This video explains the difference between YouTube CPM (Cost Per Mille) and RPM (Revenue Per Mille), and offers strategies to increase CPM and overall AdSense revenue. The creator emphasizes the importance of niche selection and video length for maximizing earnings.

### Key Points

- **Definition of CPM** [00:36] — CPM stands for Cost Per Mille, the amount advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions on your video.
- **CPM vs RPM** [01:07] — CPM is the revenue before YouTube's 45% cut; RPM is what the creator actually takes home after YouTube's share.
- **Niche Impact on CPM** [01:46] — CPM varies by niche; advertisers pay more for audiences with higher purchasing power, e.g., business vs. gaming.
- **Increase Revenue by Posting More** [02:44] — Uploading more videos creates more ad opportunities, boosting overall AdSense revenue.
- **Mid-roll Ads for Longer Videos** [03:05] — Videos over 8 minutes allow multiple mid-roll ads, increasing ad revenue potential.

### Conclusion

Understanding CPM and RPM is crucial for maximizing YouTube earnings. Focus on high-CPM niches, upload consistently, and use mid-roll ads on videos over 8 minutes to boost revenue.

## Transcript

many new content creators are in danger
because they still have no idea how
YouTube CPM works if you happen to be
one of these content creators I'm
talking about then today you have
clicked on the Right video in today's
video I will be explaining everything
you need to know about both YouTube CPM
and also YouTube RPM so with the
knowledge I am giving you today by the
end of this video you will understand
how YouTube CPM works and how you can
increase your YouTube CPM so then you
can start earning more revenue on your
video so let's get straight into it and
let's start by defining what even is
YouTube CPM YouTube CPM stands for cost
per mile or cost per meal this is the
amount of Revenue that an Advertiser
pays to place an ad or adverts on your
videos per 1000 views so let's just say
this for example if your CPM is 12 this
means for every 1 000 times an ad is
shown on your video an Advertiser will
pay pay you twelve dollars just to be
placed in your video or in front of your
audience but here is the issue if your
CPM is twelve dollars the truth is that
that twelve dollars isn't even the
revenue that you're going to get to keep
as a Creator the CPM is the amount that
your channel makes before the YouTube 45
split so after YouTube takes their cut
what is then left is what we call RPM
now the RPM is the amount of Revenue
that the Creator is given to take home
so now that we know the difference
between YouTube CPM and also YouTube RPM
it's now time to talk about a few ways
that you can start increasing your
YouTube CPM so that you can start seeing
more AdSense revenue for your videos on
YouTube if you truly want to boost your
CPM it's all about the wording and also
the topics of your videos each and every
Niche can be very different when it
comes down to the CPM the CPM is
completely different on a gaming channel
compared to a channel that's actually
talking about business or making money
online advertisers are willing to spend
even more money on ads when they're
confident that their ads will be placed
in front of their target audience these
advertisers are targeting adults or
young adults that have a little bit of
money to spend now I'm sure that most of
us can agree to this but it wouldn't be
that wise of a decision for an
Advertiser to place an ad trying to sell
a car on a fortnight video that
Advertiser would pay so much more money
to have that same exact ad placed on an
automotive video teaching someone how to
fix a problem with their vehicle so if a
lot of people haven't caught on so far
your Niche is super important when
you're thinking about really cashing out
with your YouTube AdSense earnings
another thing that you can do to
increase your CPM and also your overall
AdSense revenue is simply post more
videos with even more opportunities to
be seen and even more ads placed in
front of your viewers it only makes
sense that by uploading more you can
start to see an increase in your Revenue
but you have to always remember that as
long as your YouTube videos are over
eight minutes long as a monetized
content creator this will allow you to
place as many mid-roll ads as you wish
this is just another great practice to
do when your goal is to increase your
AdSense Revenue here on YouTube and one
