## Summary

A Valorant player shares three key lessons from a coaching session with Thwifo, a Radiant pro player for 100 Thieves, that improved his aim and game sense.

### Key Points

- **Reset Aim Before Peeking** [0:28] — Reset your crosshair and mouse position before peeking an angle to ensure you're aiming from your strongest hand and forearm position, and mentally prepare for the fight.
- **Perfect Micro Flicks** [1:22] — Practice micro flicks using scenarios like 1wall6targets small (Kovaak's) or 6shot ultimate (Aim Lab). Focus on 90%+ accuracy first, then increase speed.
- **Know When Aim Isn't the Problem** [2:46] — Thwifo pointed out that losing duels is often due to positioning and movement, not aim. Repositioning can shift the advantage in your favor.

### Conclusion

Improving aim involves resetting before peeking, practicing micro flicks, and recognizing when positioning is the real issue.

## Transcript

so I had a coaching session with radiant
Pro Player and sixth man for 100 thieves
with waifu in case you don't know him
yet this is him
one bullet
he's pretty good it's safe to say and
here are the three most important things
he taught me that fixed my aim and that
are going to fix yours too tip number
one was a total game changer for me
reset your aim before you Peak an angle
because the problem is this if you move
around the map and track your Crosshair
along the angles then your wrist and arm
naturally can stay in the default
position if you now go ahead and Peak
angles right away without resetting
first you're putting yourself at a
disadvantage because you are not aiming
from your strongest hand and forearm
position so take a second before you
peek to pre-aim your Crosshair properly
reset your mouse position and mentally
prepare to take a fight the mental
aspect is another reason why this tip
from thwifo made such a difference for
me by taking a short moment to prepare
for the peak you're just so much more
dialed in and ready to instantly kill
any enemy that appears on your screen
when you strafe out so that's the first
piece of the puzzle the second one to
complement it is perfecting your micro
flicks and that makes total sense
because if you Peak every angle prepared
and ready then your Crosshair can't be
off by much all that's left to do is to
micro flick on the enemy's head and
instantly kill him the faster and more
consistently you can do that the more of
a fragging monster you're going to
become according to thrifo the Holy
Grail aim training scenario to practice
is 116 Target small on Kovacs or
something like 6 shot ultimate on
aimlabs he told me not to worry about my
score and go slow in the beginning
ninety percent plus accuracy is the goal
and once you get that you can increase
speed on the Range you can then combine
your micro flicks with strafing movement
focus on still being sharp with your
flicks and not lazily rely on your
movement to get your Crosshair On Target
in death matches you can then put
everything together reset your aim
before peaking an angle peek out and
micro flick fights will feel a lot
easier once you get this done correctly
and transfer this good habit into your
ranked games
now this all makes sense but then
towards the end of the coaching session
something interesting happened before I
tell you what that was make sure to
check out the link to Twitter's coaching
in the description down below he really
is a great coach and if you're serious
about improving he will help you to
achieve your goals so back to that aha
moment I shot y for this clip because I
felt like I was having trouble with
holding angles and I expected him to
correct my Crosshair placement or
movement or something like that but he
simply said that I have almost no chance
to win that duel because the enemy knows
where I am after I just shot at the
brimstone and the Jet comes at me with
perfect cross replacement and peaker's
advantage
so I learned a very important lesson you
have to understand when aim is not the
problem maybe you're a bit of a
perfectionist and overthinker like me
and tend to doubt your aim when losing
duels like this but as dwightful pointed
out often it's not your aim it's your
positioning and movement here's a
crucial example for that I Peak the
enemy sage in a short so now she knows
where I am if I repeat this exact angle
she's going to have her Crosshair ready
for my head and instantly kill me and
before I would have always wondered why
everyone seems to have faster aim than
me but a simple repositioning by going a
few steps closer to the wall totally
shifts the advantage on this duel in my
favor Sage's Crosshair is in a bad spot
for my Peak I am also super fast on her
screen while I know where to aim to get
the skill easily that's why
repositioning is such an undervalued
skill I've made a detailed guide on it
that's linked on screen right now you
should definitely watch it next to
understand how you can give yourself the
advantage in every single fight until
next time much love peace
