[0:00] You just got your commissioned model back, or maybe you purchased a pre-made. [0:03] You open up Vtube Studio-- and you have no clue what's going on. [0:07] That's okay. [0:07] Today I'll be giving you a crash course and everything that you need to know [0:11] about this app. [0:11] There's a lot to cover today, so here's a breakdown of everything [0:14] we'll be discussing from the model import all the way to model recolors, effects [0:18] and Twitch Redeems. [0:19] If you're looking for something in particular, [0:21] feel free to use the timestamps in the description. [0:23] Let's start by actually getting the app. [0:26] You can pick up Vtube Studio on Steam. [0:28] The app itself is free, but it does come with a watermark. [0:30] If you want, you can purchase a DLC [0:32] that removes the watermark for you, although if you're in a pinch, [0:35] you can crop out the watermark-- to a degree. [0:37] There is another DLC available as well for VTuber collabs. [0:40] If you buy that DLC, you'll be able to collab with other VTubers [0:44] and have their models on screen next to yours. [0:46] If you want to buy all of the DLC, the app will cost you about $35 USD total. [0:50] Before we actually open the app, though, you need to consider first [0:53] what form of tracking you're going to be using. [0:56] If your model doesn't have any form of face tracking and uses either mouth [0:59] tracking or a mic input for movement, then you can go ahead and skip this section. [1:03] Otherwise, you'll have to pick a form of tracking. [1:06] I could do a whole video on this alone, but I'll give you a breakdown. [1:09] Try not to get overwhelmed because it does get a little bit confusing. [1:13] If you need basic tracking, you can get away with a webcam. [1:16] Webcam is super easy to set up. [1:17] All you have to do is plug it into your PC and turn it on in Vtube Studio. [1:21] And if you have an NVIDIA card, you can actually use [1:23] a slightly better form of webcam tracking through NVIDIA broadcast. [1:26] If you want a better, more accurate tracking, you can use a phone, [1:30] either Android or iOS with the Vtube Studio app. [1:33] And if you want very, very accurate tracking, including blend shapes [1:37] for things like lip pucker, tongue out and so on, then you should use exclusively [1:41] iOS with an additional app like vitamins or Vbridger in tandem with VTubeStudio. [1:46] Keep in mind that those apps require the model [1:49] to be rigged for those things.You can't just use VBridger for a model [1:53] that isn't rigged for it, so if you have a prebuilt, [1:55] make sure that the model is compatible before bothering picking up the app. [1:59] If you're choosing to use [2:00] one of those enhanced tracking apps, you still need an initial tracking [2:04] app, which can be Vtube Studio, but there are other options as well. [2:07] So make sure to do your research and choose [2:08] which one is best for you, and cross-referenced that the app [2:11] can communicate with that specific mobile tracking app as well. [2:14] From there, the desktop app will use VtubeStudio’s API [2:18] to send tracking information and new parameters over. [2:20] I'm not going to be going over the Vtube Studio API today, since it opens the doors [2:23] to dozens of plugins and customization options, but I will be covering an example [2:27] of how you would connect one of those external plugins for your tracking. [2:30] If that's something that you're planning to do. [2:32] The rundown for pricing overall is as follows. [2:35] So 35 if you want all of the DLC for the desktop app from Vtubestudio, [2:39] VtubeStudio Mobile for the Pro version is about $22 richer costs $10. [2:44] So if you plan to use that app, you will need to purchase that as well. [2:47] And if you want the editor, it's an additional 20. [2:49] But you don't need the editor for basic configuration, so only buy [2:53] that if you intend to make changes to the default Vbridger configuration. [2:56] Vitamins is free. [2:57] That's the app that I use personally. [2:59] However, there's much less support for it, so just expect to be on a sinking ship [3:03] if that's the route that you go. [3:05] If you're curious, my personal setup involves iOS with Vtube [3:09] studio mobile app, using WiFi connection, and in tandem with vitamins. [3:13] There are tons of configurations though. [3:15] Like I mentioned before, so I recommend doing your research, [3:18] picking what's in your budget first and going from there. [3:20] We'll talk about the tracking connection process in a bit. [3:23] After picking up Vtubestudio, you can either run it on steam or, [3:26] if you want to save some resources on your PC, [3:28] which is important f your PC is not very powerful, [3:31] then you can also open up the app folder and run the app without steam. [3:35] Once you have the app open, you can double click to open the main menu. [3:38] This top icon is what we'll be working with next. [3:40] It's where you load in your model. [3:42] To the right of that is the screenshots menu. [3:44] Then we have background items, model and items, lock [3:48] settings logs and the collabs menu. [3:51] But let's move on [3:52] and get our model set up first as that's the most important thing. [3:55] If you don't have a model, I do have a tutorial on [3:58] how to make a simple PNG tuber using free software, [4:00] but you can also find inexpensive pre-made models on Etsy, VGen, or Ko-Fi, [4:04] and you can even load in free models from the Steam Workshop [4:07] by searching something up and adding them to your library. [4:09] The Steam workshops even accessible from within VTuber studio right here, [4:13] all you have to do is pull it up and search what you're hunting down, [4:15] and it'll automatically download the model and add it to your library. [4:18] Regardless of how you get your model, you should have a model folder [4:21] ready to go. [4:22] If you use the Steam Workshop, [4:23] it should be already downloaded into your models folder. [4:26] So nothing to worry about in your situation, [4:27] but in most cases you'll have a zip file that contains a model folder. [4:31] If your model folder is structured properly, you will have a main folder [4:34] with your model runtime file, which contains [4:36] all of the deformer information, your vertex information, etc.. [4:40] Your model Json file which has references and some extra info. [4:44] Your physics file which has all of your physics setup info. [4:46] The CDI3 file ,which isn't really needed, but you'll likely have anyway. [4:51] And lastly, your textures folder. [4:53] If you're missing any of those necessary files, your model will fail to load, [4:57] so make sure that everything is structured correctly. [4:59] If you want your model to have an icon, [5:01] you can also drop that into your model folder. [5:03] Just make sure it's 512 by 512 pixels and either JPEG or PNG format. [5:07] Later on we will also be setting some expressions. [5:09] You might have some already, and if you don't, don't worry, [5:12] it's not like needed for the model to run or anything, [5:14] but these can be loose in the main folder and if you want [5:17] you can put them in a subfolder if you want them to be neatly contained. [5:20] This applies [5:21] to animations as well [5:22] to load your model, and we actually have to go through our File Explorer. [5:25] Your models folder will be within your VtubeStudio app path [5:28] under Vtubestudio data -> streaming assets -> live 2D models. [5:31] We can drag and drop our model in here: drop the entire folder, [5:35] not just the contents. [5:37] To actually open the model up, [5:39] you'll click the little person icon and your model should be here. [5:42] If it's not, sometimes it takes a second to load. [5:44] If you just put it in. So just open and close the menu [5:47] a few times and eventually you'll see it pop up. [5:49] Then just click on it and it should load everything in. [5:51] If it's a freshly exported model, you'll get a prompt asking you [5:54] about the model setup. [5:55] This is telling you that the model [5:56] doesn't have any tracking parameters, set up, animations, hotkeys, etc. [6:00] and if you select Auto setup, it will automatically populate [6:03] standard parameters into your tracking parameter setup. [6:05] I do recommend doing this if you followed a basic live 2D tutorial [6:09] and are using standard parameters for things like mouth, open mouth form, [6:13] head XYZ, and so on, it will save you some pain [6:16] because it is a tedious process [6:18] to add all of those parameters manually. [6:20] So just click through to setup [6:21] and it should populate all this parameters for you. [6:23] If you mess up and decide that you want that later, [6:25] you can also auto setup from the parameter menu as well. [6:28] So don't worry about making the wrong choice or anything. [6:30] You can always go back and overwrite with auto set up [6:33] or even just add auto setup after you decided that you did actually want it. [6:37] If you have a new export of a model that you already have set up, [6:40] you can also use auto [6:42] setup to copy over all of those parameters from the old model. [6:45] You can even copy things like expressions and animations as well. [6:48] Otherwise I will be going over menu will set up in just a moment. [6:51] If you didn't get this prompt, that means that your model has already been prepped. [6:54] This should be the case for any pre-made models, [6:56] as well as any models that you might have commissioned from a live 2D rigger. [7:00] Once your model is loaded in, we can left click and drag to move it. [7:03] Scroll to zoom and hold the control while scrolling to spin the model. [7:07] Once you get your model situated, you can lock it in place [7:09] by pressing the yellow lock in the main menu. [7:12] Changing your background is going to be in the green photo menu. [7:14] You can choose from a selection of available backgrounds, [7:17] or you can add your own by adding it to your backgrounds folder. [7:20] This is also accessible from the settings menu, but if you want, [7:23] you can just drag and drop it like we did with our models. [7:26] It should then be accessible from the background menu. [7:28] In most cases, you'll be using your model [7:30] for streaming though, in which case you want transparency. [7:33] The best way to achieve [7:34] this is by selecting Color Picker and setting it to transparent and capture. [7:38] We won't be going over the OBS side of things today, but toggling this background [7:42] on specifically will allow you to capture your VTuber without a background. [7:46] You can use game capture, but it replicates the menus, [7:49] so the best way to capture your VTuber is via Spout2. [7:52] Spout2 supports transparency and hides the menus. [7:55] It's the most performant capture type for Vtubestudio. [7:57] If you intend to set that up later, I do have a full video on the process, [8:01] but in short, you have to download [8:03] and install a plugin and make sure to toggle on Spout2 within Vtubestudio. [8:06] I'll leave a link to that video in the description. [8:09] Let's actually set up our model tracking now though. [8:11] Go to the cog menu and here you have four main tabs General settings [8:15] ->Tracking settings -> Model configuration -> Expressions and Animations menu. [8:19] If you plan to use a webcam, go to the second tab and you'll configure [8:23] your webcam here. [8:24] Toggle your webcam on so you can see the feed and make sure that [8:27] it's unobstructed and accurately tracking before you move on. [8:30] If you have an Nvidia card and want to use the improved Nvidia [8:33] tracking, be sure to install the tracking DLC via steam. [8:36] If you're using an iPhone for tracking, it's a little bit more complicated. [8:40] So if you're a webcam user and you're already good to go, feel [8:42] free to skip ahead. [8:43] You can use a cable or WiFi for connection. [8:45] Android only supports Wi-Fi connection, though no cables. [8:48] Cable is more stable for iPhone, but you have to one run another cable, [8:53] and two possibly have to download iTunes so that your PC accurately registers [8:58] your phone. [8:59] It can be a nightmare in my experiences, but it's nice to avoid network troubles. [9:03] This way it might be less of a problem if you're not using a windows device [9:07] like I am. [9:08] If you're doing this from an iOS device, it might go over much smoother. [9:12] In any case, open the phone app. [9:14] Now you can pull up the menu in the same way, so double tap, [9:17] then go to your settings. [9:18] If you'll be using Wi-Fi, make sure to buy Pro, then scroll down to this section [9:22] for USB. [9:23] Toggle on the USB option, then on desktop. [9:26] Once plugged in, do the same. [9:28] If your phone is properly plugged [9:29] in, you should be able [9:30] to instantly connect on windows, though your phone should show up in your [9:34] devices list. [9:35] If it's not there, that means it's not being recognized correctly. [9:38] And one of the main solutions to this problem is to download and install iTunes, [9:43] which is like an ancient software at this point. [9:46] Once it registers your phones in iTunes, you should be able to try the USB [9:49] connection in Vtube Studio again. [9:51] I used to use this method personally and found that I had to open and close [9:55] every single app over and over again, unplug and re [9:58] plug in my phone until it worked. [9:59] I don't recommend it for this reason, but if you have a terrible Wi-Fi [10:02] connection, it can be a great option for the Wi-Fi route. [10:05] We'll be using the sections just above the USB section. [10:08] We need to give our phone [10:09] our computers information first, so pull up your computer's IP address. [10:13] You can find this by typing ipconfig in your command prompt, but you can also [10:17] just select show IP list and Vtubestudio and pull your IPv4 from here. [10:21] Just make sure you're not streaming, for obvious reasons. [10:24] Make sure both apps have the same port, which is 25565 by default. [10:28] Then start the server on desktop and connect to your PC. [10:30] On mobile, you should see a green light if you have a proper connection. [10:34] If you're using an additional app like Voyager, you will need to open that app [10:37] and configure your phone's connection to this app. As well. [10:40] I don't have time to go over every possible iteration of this, [10:43] so I'll just be using what I believe to be the most likely combination. [10:46] If you're using ARkit tracking, [10:47] which would probably be Vbridger with the Vtubestudio mobile app. [10:51] First I would grab my phone's IP address. [10:53] You can find this under your Wi-Fi settings, [10:55] where you can select your network and scroll down [10:57] to where your phone's IP is listed. [10:59] This is the IP that you're tracking plug in will connect to. [11:01] Once connected to your phone, [11:02] you'll be streaming tracking data from your phone into the desktop plug in. [11:06] Now you need the plug in to further communicate information to Vtube Studio. [11:09] You'll want to set the connection to the YouTube studio, [11:11] toggle it on, and then wait for Vtubestudio to prompt you for API access. [11:15] Once you allow Vbridger access, [11:16] you should be able to see your model taking inputs from Vbridger. [11:20] If you have a different combination than this example or experience [11:23] any difficulties during the plugin [11:24] tracking setup, I recommend checking out the respective developers discord [11:27] server to ask questions and troubleshoot what they're tracking connected. [11:31] You may [11:31] or may not see your model responding, depending on whether it's already got [11:34] tracking parameters configured. [11:36] We'll set those up in a moment if they aren't ready on your model yet, [11:38] but let's open up our model configuration menu for a tour of the basics first. [11:42] If you have an idle expression [11:43] or a tracking lost animation, you can add those files here. [11:46] Idle animations will continue looping an eternity and tracking lost [11:50] animations will transition to and be in use while your model tracking is lost. [11:54] In the case that your connection fails or you move out of frame or something [11:57] like that. [11:57] If you have any strange outlines [11:59] on your model, [12:00] which is common for models with deeper skin tones and with dark clothing, [12:03] you can use this button to correct those lines. [12:05] The button below that is for being able to run your model on your phone, [12:08] which you most likely don't need, and larger models can crash the app [12:12] anyway, so I would pretty much just ignore this button. [12:14] The customize model section is for lighting [12:16] and recolor options, which we'll get to later. [12:18] The movement config section down here will track your physical space movement, [12:21] and will input that to your model's general position. [12:24] If that's something that you're interested [12:25] in, be sure to change your settings here. [12:27] You can also mess with your physics settings as well. [12:29] Just be careful if it's a pre-made or commission, [12:31] because your ringer likely already prepared the physics in a certain way, [12:34] and you probably don't need to make any adjustments. [12:37] However, if something is moving more or less than you would like, [12:39] you can toggle the strength of individual physics parameters here. [12:43] If you have any manual parameters to add, you will press the plus button [12:47] and add the information here. [12:49] The tracking input will be any of the standard input parameters [12:52] or any of the tracking inputs from apps like the. [12:56] They will have a little label next to them, letting you know which [12:59] plug in they're from, and the output is a name of the parameter [13:02] that controls the object on your model as it's listed in your model information. [13:06] In most cases, the name will be the exact same [13:09] because there are naming conventions for most of these standard parameters. [13:12] You do have to repeat this process for every single parameter [13:15] that you want to have tracked on your model, [13:16] which is why automatic setup is a really nice thing to have. [13:19] If you're using the Vtube studio mobile app for tracking on the mobile [13:23] app, you will need to adjust some basic settings in the webcam section. [13:26] Here, you can adjust the sensitivity for some basic inputs here before [13:29] messing with everything else on your desktop. [13:31] If you change these settings [13:32] in the Vtubestudio desktop app, it only applies to webcam tracking. [13:37] So if you want to make these adjustments, make sure to make them in the mobile app. [13:40] If you're using your phone for tracking. [13:42] Once all of your parameters are ready, we can now configure them to your needs. [13:46] We're going to do that by adjusting the actual parameter range values. [13:49] This is a bit convoluted, so I will try my best to explain, [13:52] but just be nice to yourself as you're going through this, [13:55] because it can be kind of a weird process to learn how to do on your model. [13:58] Rigging. [13:58] Each parameter is rigged on a set of values. [14:01] Most commonly, [14:02] it will start at zero and go to a positive and negative value symmetrically. [14:06] So things like your head movement moving from positive 30 to -30 [14:10] and at the center being zero or the second most common type of parameter [14:15] is a parameter that goes from 0 to 1 with a default of zero. [14:18] That's common for things like mouth open, so mouth closed would be zero, and mouth [14:22] open would be one. [14:24] For most common parameters. [14:25] These values are standardized, [14:27] and I'll leave a resource below that goes over those standard values. [14:30] The standard range for that input parameter should show up here. [14:35] And the output range should be the same in most cases, [14:38] unless your model was rigged to have a different value for some reason, [14:42] your actual tracking value that is being sent [14:44] will be right here, and the scaled output will be showed [14:47] in the symmetrical position on the right side. [14:49] To configure parameter to your needs, first calibrate your tracking. [14:53] You need to have your tracking calibrated for this to work and be [14:56] accurate on desktop with webcam it'll be here and in the mobile app. [15:00] You'll do it by tapping on this icon. [15:02] In either case, [15:03] after starting the calibration, look towards where you'll be primarily [15:06] looking straight and don't move until the calibration is finished. [15:10] Now that you're calibrated, most standard parameters should be centered [15:13] or hovering close to zero, aka the neutral point. [15:16] The main concept for our adjustments here will be that our maximum input values [15:20] should match up with our actual maximum range of body input for the head turn. [15:25] For example, if I turn my face the farthest I can, [15:28] it should in theory land at 30. [15:31] But if it's not, that means that the model isn't taking advantage [15:35] of the full range of the parameter. [15:36] At maximum, it's getting fed a value that is lower than the max [15:40] that I can actually reach. [15:41] So we want to adjust our input to account for that. [15:44] And once we do that, it will make sure to scale the output up [15:47] so that you can actually reach those higher values [15:49] without having to move your head farther or make any weird adjustments [15:53] to the model. [15:54] This can also be applied to things like mouth open. [15:56] A common example is that people will have their mouth be slightly ajar, despite [16:00] not actually having their mouth open, because a default value is zero, [16:03] and the tracking input might be picking up something like 0.008, [16:08] you can simply change your input value for your mouth open at the lowest value [16:12] to be 0.008, and then it will change 0.008 to put an output of zero. [16:17] Hopefully that makes a little bit of sense to you. [16:20] You can and should go through pretty much all of your parameters [16:23] and make sure that your input range matches your face and personal movements. [16:27] This pretty much means that you'll have to sit there [16:29] making strange faces at yourself to figure out what the maximum [16:33] input value is, and adjusting your input range to match. [16:36] At the end of the day, it's just because no two people will move the same. [16:39] So even if your rigger did all of their best work [16:41] trying to get the inputs to look really good, it's not going to match your face. [16:44] So going through and adjusting them and making sure they match your face [16:48] and your personal movements will help limit [16:49] the stiffness in your model and improve your tracking. [16:52] Please remember that updating your model [16:53] with exaggerated movements also does a lot of the heavy lifting. [16:57] If you feel like [16:58] any inputs are very jittery, you can also turn on smoothing for them. [17:01] And don't forget that you can toggle on auto blink for eye parameters. [17:05] If you have something like a PNG YouTuber and want them to automatically blink [17:08] for you and turn on auto breathing for your breath parameter [17:10] before we move on to expressions and hotkeys, let's also talk about items. [17:15] The items menu is accessible. [17:16] From here, you can select an item and spawn it in. [17:19] If you have new items like a purchasable asset from an online shop, [17:22] you can similarly do backgrounds in models. [17:25] Just drag and drop it into your items folder. [17:27] Then it should show up in your list. [17:28] There are a few different kinds of items, so let me give you an overview of them [17:32] real quick. [17:32] First, we have regular items which are pretty much just like PNGs or GIFs. [17:37] Then there are browser items which let you load [17:39] and interact with a web page, which includes [17:41] support from local files as well, so you can load up pretty much anything [17:44] that's on your PC like an MP3, a webcam, even a fucking PDF if you want. [17:50] And finally, we have live 2D items which have their own rigging and movement [17:54] and are technically a model in themselves that you can pin on to your own model. [17:59] Adding a PNG item is really easy. [18:01] By default it will be in front of your model, [18:03] but you can choose to put it in front of or behind your model as well. [18:06] You can also put it [18:07] in between specific layers, and I'll go over that in just a second. [18:10] For any item you have the same adjustment controls. [18:13] So scroll wheel, left click and drag and control. [18:16] Plus scroll to resize and move the item around. [18:18] Get the item into the general position that you want and double click [18:21] to lock it in place. [18:22] The item should now be pinned to your model. [18:24] However, sometimes models have invisible layers and masks, [18:27] and you'll need to configure the pinning to pin to the correct item. [18:30] If this becomes a problem on your model, you can exempt certain art from allowing [18:34] pinning on them. [18:35] You can go into the Customize Model menu and select exclude [18:39] Art mesh from item pinning. [18:40] Within this menu, I would go ahead and turn off any masks that you have. [18:44] You can filter them out by typing in mask in the search bar and toggling them off. [18:49] If you want to configure anything further. [18:51] At this point, you can long press to pull up the item configuration. [18:54] Here I can tell it specifically what art mesh it should be following along with. [18:59] In my case, if I had this band aid and I wanted it to be on my cheek, [19:03] I can look for the face color mesh and add it there. [19:05] You can also see it is overlapping with my hair, which is undesirable, [19:09] but thankfully due to a recent update, we can actually pin items between layers [19:14] on our live 2D models now, so we can open up the item layer settings here. [19:17] And at the top it will be in front of everything, [19:20] and at the bottom the item will be behind everything. [19:23] So if you want it to be in a specific place, [19:25] you'll have to look for a sweet spot between the layers where it's in my case, [19:29] in front of the face, but behind the bangs, and it looks like [19:33] it's right about here, so we can hit okay and finish up the item configuration. [19:37] If you want to save this item config as a hotkey later, [19:40] you can click the triple star menu to open the item scenes and make a new scene. [19:44] Once you save that, it'll be accessible via hotkey later. [19:47] The same setup applies for other item types, but they do have [19:50] some additional options as well for live 2D items for example. [19:53] Also, with the recent update, [19:55] we now have the option to split the item into a front and a back. [19:58] If the rigger has configured it that way. [19:59] This means you can tell the YouTube studio exactly between which layers [20:03] you want the item, and its own layers to exist. [20:06] That means I could have the front of a blanket asset in front of my body, [20:09] or maybe behind my hair, and then the back of it behind my body, [20:13] but maybe in front of bug bot, for example. [20:15] Don't forget that live 2D items are also technically a model of their own, [20:20] and some come with hotkeys. [20:21] If you want to edit configurable settings or make new hotkeys for the item, [20:26] you will have to take that item, put it in your models folder, load it [20:29] as its own model, [20:30] and then go through the hotkey process that we'll touch on in a bit. [20:33] Once configured, you can [20:34] then take the newly configured model and pop it back into your item assets. [20:38] And now all of the new hotkeys should be available for use. [20:41] If the item tracks weird, [20:43] you can also open up the item configuration [20:45] and adjust the settings here to better match the movement on your model. [20:48] Finally, we have browser sources which let you put in a URL and pin [20:52] that loaded page to your model. [20:53] The browser source is fully interactable if you have the setting turned on for it, [20:57] meaning you can click and load whatever you want from that initial loading point. [21:01] You can also turn on the local file setting and then load local files. [21:05] So as long as you have access to that file on your PC, [21:08] you should be able to load it in as a file so you could load videos, text [21:11] files, PDFs, images, pretty much anything. [21:14] You can also load all of the contents of a folder itself. [21:18] Just obviously be careful with this setting. [21:20] It's off by default for a reason because you can expose some critical [21:24] information if you're not careful about it. [21:25] To get rid of an item, you can unlock the items in the scene [21:29] and drag it to the invisible trashcan in the bottom right. [21:32] Or you can go to the main menu and remove all scene items. [21:35] Now that you understand items, we can finally move on [21:37] to Expression and Hotkey Setup, which can be found under this menu here. [21:46] Just know that for any of these hotkey options, [21:48] you can link them to Twitch Redeems your Stream deck via the Stream Deck [21:52] feed, OBS studio plugin, or even through stream controllers like Streamer Bot. [21:55] So just be aware that you don't have to exclusively use them with a keypress. [21:59] There are other options as well, so make a new expression, select [22:02] Expression Editor and create a new expression. [22:05] Then you can name the expression and adjust whichever associated parameters [22:08] you want. [22:09] Then save the expression file by hitting okay. [22:11] You can run through and make as many of these expressions as you want to. [22:14] If you want them to have hotkeys, you can press plus to make a new hotkey, [22:18] or if you want to generate them in bulk, you can select create new hotkeys [22:21] for all unused expressions and it will automatically generate hotkeys [22:25] for every single new expression that you've made. [22:28] If you're doing this manually though, [22:29] you can just name the hotkey, change the hotkey type to expression, [22:33] change to the expression you want to use, and then add your key input. [22:36] Now you can easily toggle it on and off. [22:39] You can change the hotkey to activate only during the key press, [22:42] but in most cases you'll just want to be on a toggle. [22:44] You do also have the option to turn it off automatically, [22:47] and you can adjust the fade time here as well. [22:49] Hotkeys can also be used for animations. [22:51] You can do things like swap your idle animation [22:53] out for another idle animation, which is what I personally use. [22:56] The switch from my regular idle to my idle, [22:59] where bug bot has a set of keys and is shaking them. [23:01] Or you can also run a one time animation which toggles on and runs the animation [23:06] once before. [23:06] Stop it if you have an animation in mind but don't have an animation file. [23:10] One cool feature is that you can also record animations in Video Studio, [23:14] so as long as you can act it out in your model, you can save it as well. [23:17] There are a lot of different options for hotkeys listed here, aside [23:21] from toggling expressions, though, some of which are used for utility reasons. [23:24] But the few that I want to discuss right now are going to be moving your model, [23:28] changing art mesh colors or scene lighting, and toggling VFX. [23:32] Moving your model is very easy to set up. [23:34] Simply move it to the adjusted position and press record position. [23:37] I'd recommend having two main spots and a hotkey to swap between the two. [23:41] If you're fancy, you can use a bot like streamer bot to automate the switching. [23:45] Depending on your obscene. [23:46] To set up the lighting, let's first go to the webcam menu and scroll down. [23:50] Here we can select which monitor to use for our lighting and toggle it on. [23:53] There are some customization settings here, and these color dots on this side [23:57] represent the left, right, and middle colors [24:00] that are being pulled from your screen. [24:01] You can toggle them on and off individually if you want. [24:03] Once toggled on, go to the model menu and open Customize Model, [24:07] then select Customize Scene Lighting. [24:09] Any art mesh that you toggle down on the slider here will remain exempt [24:12] from lighting, which makes it appear as if it's been bright. [24:16] The most common setup is to just do your iris and eye [24:19] components to make them look like they're glowing. [24:21] Once you're done with your setup, you can hit okay [24:23] and then you can use this lighting setting as a toggle in your hotkeys menu. [24:30] Color setup is similar. [24:32] You can also do this from the Customize Model menu and select Customize [24:36] Multiply Screen Color for Art mesh. [24:37] Here I'm here [24:38] toggle on the individual component and set the color for screen and Multiply. [24:42] Once you do one, you can select Paste last color [24:45] so that the process goes a little bit quicker. [24:47] When you're doing tons and tons of art mesh, it does take an extremely long time [24:51] to do this. [24:52] Alternatively, if this is too much work for you, [24:54] you can use a plugin like Vtube Studio Chameleon or something like Streamer Bot [24:58] to change your colors as well as color. [25:00] Tint is accessible through the API, but once you're done with your recolor, [25:03] you can finish up and choose this art mesh set up as a hockey as well. [25:13] Finally, we have VFX. [25:15] VFX is under the webcam menu where you can toggle it on and then click [25:19] select Add Effects to configure. [25:21] There is a list of a ton of different effects [25:24] which you can fully adjust and combine to your liking. [25:26] Just know that some of these do change appearance depending on your capture [25:29] method, and that using a ton of them in tandem might cause stress on your GPU. [25:41] Once configured, you can save it as a preset, [25:43] which is then accessible by a hotkey. [25:53] The last thing that we have to cover is Twitch integration. [25:56] Any of the hotkeys that we just made [25:57] are usable via Twitch integration, though there are some other features as well. [26:01] To set it up, [26:02] go to the main settings menu and scroll down to the Twitch Settings section. [26:05] From here, select Connect Account and give Vtube studio permissions to your Twitch. [26:09] Then you should be able to log in and activate, and once you've done [26:12] that, you can open the configuration and set up your Twitch integrations. [26:16] Here there's an email dropper [26:17] and a Twitch message option, which are really fun to add as an overlay. [26:20] Just obviously be careful with the chat one. [26:22] Of course for the hotkey triggers, open this and toggle it on, then check. [26:26] Done. [26:26] And now when you reopen your expressions list, you can click on the Twitch icon [26:30] and configure which options [26:31] you would like to apply as conditions for this hotkey to be set off. [26:35] As long as you're connected to your twitch, [26:36] you should be completely functional and work automatically during your streams.
