[00:03] silence. They just made a public statement addressing the leaks. So surprising that even the bulbs in my desk light here have begun flickering like it's some kind of cursed house here, like a haunting a poltergeist [00:17] event. So those might not make it the duration of the video and the leaker may not make it to see their next birthday. It has been a crazy amount of [00:29] uh mobilization of resources from authorities to try and find the GTA 6 authorities to try and find the GTA 6 leaker. And it has been a mess. They're all trying to figure out who is this mysterious cyber leak. And there's of [00:45] mysterious cyber leak. And there's of course been so many twists and turns like impersonation, a lot of fake gobblelygook, a lot of like outrageous [ __ ] too where people are trying to make money off pretending to be cyber leak [01:00] and like throwing up fake accounts to try and squeeze money out. And of course there's the crypto that's been pumping. The whole thing has just been unreal. And until now, Rockstar Games has been pretty tight-lipped about it. But since [01:14] the leaks show no signs of slowing down, they are finally coming forward to say something one day before the Netflix premiere of their trailer for GTA 6 drops. Dear all, we know that many of you have been waiting to hear from us [01:28] It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto 6 heartbreaking for our team. And this obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time. We are very sorry that everything has taken as [01:42] finished nearly there to sharing more providing the community with everything you want to know. We are very excited tomorrow. It has taken longer than we wanted to get it ready. But as with [01:55] exceed your expectations and we are determined to deliver at the level you unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game [02:08] to thank everyone in the community who has reached out with messages of support more to this team than you could imagine. Ultimately, we are making this game for you, and without you, we would not have the privilege of making games. [02:22] We look forward to sharing more with you soon. Sincerely, Rockstar Games. It's an interesting statement here. The message has a lot to digest. Now, they've even got like a little pseudo apology in there. Sans's ukulele. And as far as [02:36] Rockstar messages go, where they're typically pretty concise, this one is a little more verbose and seems a little more forward with their sentiment, which is a little uncharacteristic, but appreciated, I suppose, in a time like [02:50] this where there are so many leaks and like this big saturation now of GTA 6 gameplay footage that has come out without their blessing, without their consent, which absolutely does undermine a lot of the work from some very [03:03] Rockstar Games. that I bet were pretty disappointed to see that their work has been showcased in this manner and not in the way that they had anticipated. And people that have worked so hard on this game for so long, especially considering [03:19] that some of what's been shown is older from older build. So, they're not even getting to have their work showcased at its optimal potential and where it currently stands presumably. Now, personally, I don't think the leaks have [03:33] had like a detrimental effect on the future of GTA 6. Like I said initially, in a way, it's also been generating hype for it because a lot of people have been even more excited to see the trailer that drops tomorrow, and even more [03:47] people are interested in getting the game. So, like, it hasn't, I think, scared people off of it. But, yeah, it does suck to have their work judged from like older footage in like these random scenarios from this build. Oh. Oh, boy. [04:02] Hold on a second. The light's really clinging to dear life here, but it's clinging to dear life here, but it's about to shed the mortal coil. Uh, but yeah, point is there are a lot of reasons why it would be very upsetting [04:15] on on the game. But I personally don't believe that all of a sudden everyone's say collectively, well, I'm not buying it now. I saw that leak. Pu, that looked happen. I imagine everyone that's watched the leaks is also going to watch [04:31] going to tune in to the Netflix exclusive premiere for their timed exclusivity, but they'll probably tune in to the YouTube one when it drops like 6 hours later or whatever. So, I overall don't think the leaks have like ruined [04:44] GTA 6. But yeah, it has been a huge deal. It has been pretty wild and yeah, it is definitely undermined the hard work of a lot of developers that have poured so much into it. Now, another thing that was mentioned in the [04:57] statement that I want to opine on briefly and brace for impact here. Here, here comes the the bad news. Open wide. Here comes the choo choo train of vegetables. Choo choo. Right down the hatch, down the gullet. They're not [05:10] reading your emails. They have that little PR statement in there about like, oh man, those uplifting messages you guys are sending us, those emails that you have tossed our way, they have meant the world to us. We framed every single [05:24] one of them. It Oh, you you couldn't imagine what it's done for morale. That's bologoney. That's the biggest load of [ __ ] fish paste. You think a Rockstar Games is reading your emails? No. Get real. That is just some of that [05:38] like feel-good PR speak, you know, we're all into this get all in this together type feel to it. But that's not real. Now, maybe some of the developers on the team have seen some like positive messages from the community. That's [05:50] here. Let's just call these boobies some titties. You know, Rockstar Games, the corporation, has no [ __ ] clue what emails you are sending their way, whether they're supportive or antagonistic. They're not seeing it. If [06:04] they were seeing all of like the feedback, about the no physical discs because that's been a huge conversation for a while now. But it's easy to ignore because I don't think they're seeing it. [06:19] Now, it's not the biggest deal in the world that they include some happy world that they include some happy golucky PR jargon in here, but you know, would have preferred like some genuine honesty in there. They didn't need to [06:31] pretend that they're reading your [ __ ] supportive messages because I don't believe in any way, shape, or form they're seeing any of it. Again, it's it's here, nor is it really surprising to see because this is a serious message [06:45] and they are being pretty upfront about things. And I do think that they are being genuine when they say that they're sorry for how long it's taken, both with addressing this as well as with how long the game has taken. I do think that's [07:00] probably sincere, but I don't think they need to try and throw these kind of your Twitter messages. Thank you so much. Holy shit." Or, "We're making this much. Holy shit." Or, "We're making this game for you. Without you, there's no us [07:15] making this game. get real. Like come on. Like you can you can give that lip service and I'm sure it's very appreciative for a large part of the community, but it's not honest. Like yeah, you're right. Without people [07:30] make the game. Thus, you wouldn't be making the game. That's true. You need players in order to make the games. But it's very clear with the way that this milked for everything they could possibly squeeze out of it every step of [07:45] the way. It's, I believe, one of the most monetized products like I've ever seen. They are even having a huge amount of clams in exchange for releasing the [ __ ] world premiere exclusive trailer of the gameplay on Netflix. If this was [08:01] really for the gamers, you probably wouldn't really be doing a deal like everyone that hasn't forked over Dloons for Netflix. Like, yeah, you're releasing it later to everyone, all the plebeians on YouTube, but you're still [08:14] plebeians on YouTube, but you're still taking a huge, huge bag up front for that timed exclusivity because it's a big marketing push for Netflix cuz now you can have people like that can't wait scratching at their neck. Maybe they get [08:27] this. I imagine that there are a lot of people that have done so. And speaking throwing people to the back of the lunchroom here in the Outcast table by lunchroom here in the Outcast table by not releasing a PC version at launch. [08:41] That comes later. And I think it's pretty obvious why. So that way you can double dip. You release on console at first, get all that, and then you double dip when you put it out on PC down the line. And yes, I know they did the exact [08:55] same song and dance with GTA 5, and it worked extremely well there, too. Very lucrative. So, like, yeah, you can say it's for gamers and all that, but a lot entirely on Rockstar shoulders, and I'm not pointing the blame solely at [09:09] Rockstar anything. Take 2 obviously bears a huge, huge uh responsibility here and a large chunk of the burden of the blame. But, I mean, still, this is include in the statement because I think that is just something that doesn't [09:23] point to more of like an anti-consumer approach with this product as opposed to like this really, let's all hold hands. it's for you guys type of moment. To me, those statements just fall flat as they're juxtaposed with the actions that [09:37] they have been taking with this product. So, I would personally prefer if they just didn't even bother pretending. Like, just don't even bother saying that kind of lip service cuz it rings hollow for me coming from them. And real quick [09:50] on the topic of spoilers, which I do agree is a very deflating thing. Like as I'm going through every single Grand Theft Auto ever made on my gaming loving the marathon. So I'm very hyped for this game. But with the leaks now [10:06] looking like they're teetering on story content that could spoil crucial story moments and things like that, it is alarming and something that I'm really not thrilled about because even not being on Twitter, sometimes these leaks [10:20] just pop out of nowhere because outlets are now covering the leaks. So, it sometimes becomes kind of hard to avoid and that really does super suck. Now, imagine when this game launches and every console player gets to experience [10:34] it the way Rockstar intends on November 19th. Well, what about all the PCON players? People that only have a PC and no console. Well, they've got to wait and they're going to be inundated with spoilers out the wazoo for a long time [10:47] now. And I know there's tons of busy bees that love to fight PR battles for corporations that wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire. So they'll take up the shield and defend against these bismerching comments, you know, going [11:03] against the honor of these companies. So they'll say things like, "Well, the launch is because they couldn't get it ready in time. It was a big undertaking just couldn't do it and this would have caused it to be delayed for a long time. [11:17] They didn't want to do another delay. So that's why. And I guess yeah, like just call out what I think is very clearly a very strong motivator in this case that I don't think is a far-fetched conspiracy. If PC was launching at the [11:32] same time as console, people that have a PC and a console would probably elect to get it on PC over console because of modding predominantly. GTA 5 had a lot of really fun modding uh capabilities. One that I indulged in constantly back [11:47] in the day. you can still find tons of GTA mods that I was cranking out from back then. So, if they did release a PC on console at the same time, people that have both would elect to just do PC. So, by doing console first and not having [12:00] that choice, they'll get it on console and they probably are likely to get it again for PC solely for modding and being able to take part in like adventures that way. So instead of selling the game once where all [12:15] time, so people can choose their preferred platform and only need to make one purchase of GTA 6. Well, now you take out a big big big platform that is historically very popular for this [12:29] franchise, PC, and you only give them the console option. The game's pretty irresistible to a large chunk of people. This is one of the biggest games of all time. So, they'll probably get it on console to experience it first now while [12:42] it's first coming out. So, that way they're not spoiled later. And then when PC comes around, the PC launch, they might get it again. So, now they have a might get it again. So, now they have a chance at selling it twice. So, it [12:55] should be pretty obvious that that's a strong incentive to delay the PC launch till a later date. So that way they can maybe squeeze more money out of the same players. It's not really a far-fetched tinfoil [13:09] hat conspiracy. That's pretty simple, I think. And it's not new information. This is something that's been yapped about a lot. So all of these things, the when you actually look at them and see how this product is being handled, it [13:22] guys. We're doing this for you guys. Your messages are so hype. Your messages are lit. That [ __ ] rocks. Thanks for all the positive messages. And remember, we're making this game for you. It just doesn't feel genuine. Those statements [13:37] right there. So, just don't even [ __ ] include them. Really, that that's that's all I was blabbering about in regards to that. But yeah, anyway, Rockstar broke the silence on the whole GTA 6 leak situation here, and I just wanted to [13:51] blabber about it for a minute. That's really about it. See you up.
