[0:01] Promise me you will come back. [0:08] >> What if I can't? [0:11] >> The Odyssey is a massive story. That's a [0:15] really exciting challenge to take on. [0:18] >> This is definitely the biggest movie [0:20] that I've ever done in my career. It [0:22] feels like we made six or seven movies. [0:24] And in a sense, we did. every single [0:26] kind of chapter of this adventure was at [0:29] a different location that posed a [0:31] different challenge. [0:32] >> You just know that the locations when [0:34] you're telling a story like this are [0:35] going to be like characters unto [0:36] themselves. So, they have to be extra [0:37] special. And so, we found ourselves in [0:40] these really amazing places. [0:44] >> There are parts of the world that I [0:45] don't think I would even have ever seen [0:48] or known about had it not been for this [0:50] experience. As an actress, it's such a [0:52] luxury to be in such an immersive space. [0:55] I don't have to pretend like I'm on a [0:56] boat. I am on the boat, you know, like [0:58] we are at sea. What a gift. You know, [1:02] there's a certain level of information [1:04] that you learn when something is real. [1:07] So, when you go to these places, you [1:08] just feel it and it just adds another [1:11] layer to what it is that you're trying [1:12] to express. [1:14] >> Action. [1:15] >> One of the things I like about shooting [1:17] on location is we're moving countries [1:19] every couple of weeks, so it gives you [1:21] this incredible momentum. [1:24] The issue on this film is that we're [1:26] shooting in extraordinary places that [1:28] were hard to get to, hard to shoot in. [1:30] >> You know, you normally if you're doing a [1:31] Hollywood movie at the base camp is 10 [1:33] seconds away from the set. When you're [1:35] shooting Chris not movie, it's like [1:37] that's a 45minute hike in sandals. [1:40] They're full costume. I mean, every [1:43] location we went to, I would get there [1:44] and I'd just start laughing. Go like, [1:46] who thought you should shoot a movie [1:48] here? [1:50] You know, we're shooting in Nester's [1:52] cave in Greece. It's this incredible [1:54] place, but nobody's ever tried to shoot [1:56] a film up there. And so to see the [1:58] rigging that they did to basically turn [2:00] it into a natural sound stage, I I don't [2:03] I don't know any other director who [2:05] would try it. [2:06] >> There was no location that was [2:09] straightforward and easy, but all of [2:11] those locations made sense for the [2:13] story. Really, it wouldn't be the film [2:15] that it is without going there and doing [2:17] it for real. [2:20] The scale was so so big. I think what's [2:24] so special about Chris's movies is that [2:26] he goes the extra distance to make it [2:28] feel authentic for us on set, which then [2:30] makes it feel more authentic for the [2:32] audience in the theater. [2:34] >> I mean, there's a reason we call these [2:35] things odysseies. This is the Odyssey, [2:37] and it really is a journey through all [2:39] of these incredible places and hopefully [2:42] something that just really profoundly [2:44] entertains and moves people. [2:46] >> As a fan, I'm so excited. I cannot wait [2:49] to sit in that IMAX theater and [2:52] completely be lost in this world that [2:54] he's created.
