[0:00] Looks like I'm here just in time for you [0:02] guys to mate. [0:03] >> Yes, we're about to put it in. [0:06] >> Wonderful. [0:07] >> I don't know about that. [0:08] >> It's been a long time coming, you two. [0:10] >> It has been this one. This one lasts an [0:13] extra long time. [0:14] >> Welcome to Hooies Garage, the dumbest [0:15] automo channel in all of YouTube. And 6 [0:18] months ago, I bought a supercar that I [0:20] haven't been able to enjoy. The Lotus [0:22] Aspree burst onto the scene in the 1970s [0:24] and was made famous immediately in a [0:26] James Bond filmed as a submarine. And as [0:29] the 80s went on and into the early 90s, [0:30] it continued to be a popular car, seen [0:32] in a lot of film and television, Basic [0:34] Instinct, for example. But then it sort [0:36] of fell off the radar. People forgot the [0:37] Lotus Aspree existed, especially the [0:39] final iteration, which I think is the [0:41] best, the Aspree V8. updated styling and [0:45] updated performance with a twin turbo [0:47] flat plane crank V8 with 350 horsepower. [0:50] Manual transmission, amazing looks, and [0:53] price-wise, since they're forgotten [0:54] supercars, they sell for around 10 to [0:56] 20% of a Lamborghini Countage or Diablo. [1:00] And that made no sense to me. Well, that [1:02] is until I bought one at auction for [1:04] $40,000 and discovered, well, it had a [1:08] lot of issues. The worst one, a [1:09] crunching transmission. [1:12] So, the entire drivetrain had to come [1:14] out so the transmission could get [1:16] rebuilt. But in this video today, the [1:18] Lotus engine is going back in. [1:19] Everything's get hooked up and hopefully [1:21] everything will work and I can drive it [1:23] home. That's that's a big hopefully [1:25] because it is a Lotus. In a previous [1:27] life, I was sitting on tons of staff [1:29] meetings in stores all over the country, [1:31] hiring hundreds of employees, and I [1:33] really wish I had a second brain that [1:34] paid attention to everything as there [1:36] was always something that slipped [1:37] through the cracks. What I needed was [1:39] this. And no, this is my microphone [1:41] here. This is the Plaude Note Pin S, and [1:44] this gadget is for professionals on the [1:45] go. In fast-paced, complex work [1:47] environments, it helps capture key [1:49] information and keeps everything [1:50] organized effortlessly. The Plaid Notep [1:52] helps you think better, and it can be [1:54] pinned, clipped, necklace, or worn like [1:56] a watch. And one press of a button can [1:58] highlight key moments of a conversation [2:00] while recording. Pla's AI doesn't just [2:02] dictate what it hears into a transcript. [2:04] It also generates notes, a summary, [2:06] to-do list, and a mind map. You can even [2:08] interact with ask plaud related to the [2:10] conversation you just recorded along [2:12] with meetings over the course of months [2:13] to provide new insights. The notep [2:16] generates sparkling ideas in a way more [2:17] sophisticated way than your phone with [2:19] dual pro mics and noise cancellation for [2:21] a clear more accurate capture. Plus, [2:24] your phone can get interrupted by calls [2:25] and notifications. And it doesn't [2:27] provide summaries, highlights, or the [2:29] ease of use. Just one tap with applaud. [2:32] It also is private and secure. And like [2:34] anything involving recording, you want [2:36] to make sure you're complying with the [2:37] laws in your area. And you don't have to [2:39] believe me. You can try it for yourself [2:41] with a 30-day free return policy. You [2:43] won't get just how much it boosts your [2:45] productivity until you actually try it. [2:47] Link below. And it's totally worth it. [2:49] Looks like I'm here just in time for you [2:51] guys to mate. [2:53] >> Yes, we're about to put it in. [2:55] >> Wonderful. [2:56] >> I don't know about that. [2:57] >> It's been a long time coming, you two. [3:00] >> Yeah, [3:00] >> it has been. This one, this one lasts an [3:03] extra long time, [3:04] >> I suppose. So, the transmission is back [3:07] and it's been freshly rebuilt along with [3:10] everything else. And I guess this is the [3:11] way it goes in, correct? There. And in. [3:14] And [3:14] >> yeah, actually, I'm going to remove this [3:16] glass. I don't really want that to get [3:18] broken. [3:19] >> That's a good idea. It took a lot for me [3:21] to find that glass. [3:22] >> Let me get this out of the way so we [3:24] don't accidentally hurt this thing. [3:26] >> Sounds good. So, you can put it in the [3:27] back of my Dakota. Maybe that'd be a [3:29] good spot. [3:30] >> Yeah. So, Daniel, I know saying the [3:33] timing was a little bit of a thing, [3:34] right? [3:34] >> Uh, yeah. Thankfully, with all the stuff [3:36] that was supplied by the I guess the [3:38] people who were uh rebuilt the [3:40] transmission, it was so much easier. [3:41] They supplied all the [3:43] >> Oh, [3:51] that's that's not a top. [3:53] >> No, [3:53] >> that's not a top. [3:56] >> What? That actually was an old lens from [3:58] your Beck Spider you used to have. [4:02] The pranks keep coming. [4:04] >> I'm not cleaning that up. [4:06] >> You thought you just broke an unoptanium [4:08] piece of glass, right? [4:09] >> Um Wow. Okay. [4:12] >> Did your heart sink? [4:13] >> Yeah, that was not nice of you. That was [4:15] That was not nice at all. Well, okay. Um [4:20] well, now that that's uh Yeah, we we've [4:22] uh muzzles hopped that, I guess, we can [4:24] uh get the engine in, huh? Yes. [4:27] >> All right. Well, who's doing the pushing [4:30] and who's doing the receiving of this [4:32] injury? [4:33] >> I can probably do the pushing and [4:34] Danielson can do the aligning and the uh [4:37] insertion. [4:38] >> Wonderful. All right. Well, let's let's [4:40] hit it. Everybody puckered. Yes. This is [4:43] This is the puckering moment when [4:46] >> the irreplaceable engine goes up very [4:48] high and something Wizard bought at a [4:49] shop with something Wizard bought at a [4:52] swap meet for 50 bucks. [4:54] >> Yeah. But it's been a trooper. It's [4:56] lasted years and it's had never had any [4:58] issue. [4:59] >> This thing could lift a truck easily. [5:00] >> Yeah, it could. [5:02] >> Famous last words with this 9-year-old [5:04] hydraulic press. [5:09] >> The shaft lubed. [5:11] >> It seems to be. [5:12] >> We are in quite a mood today, aren't we? [5:14] >> Goodness. [5:16] >> Flat plane crank twin turbo excellence. [5:19] >> Straighten it out there. With about [5:21] 4,000 in new parts and about $4,000 in a [5:25] rebuilt transmission [5:27] going back in. We're all so quiet. [5:31] >> Should I break some more glass? No. [5:33] >> Slow down. Slow down. You're going too [5:34] fast. [5:34] >> Okay, it's stopped. [5:37] >> Let's see. [5:38] >> If people are just listening to this [5:40] instead of watching it, they're [5:42] >> It's an ASMR radio show. [5:44] >> No, no, no, no, no. Sounds like [5:46] something else. [5:47] >> Yeah, I think it'll clear it. See what [5:49] you got up front. [5:50] doesn't have much. [5:52] >> Let's see. [5:53] >> It's gotten tighter here. [5:55] >> But that's that's plenty of room, [5:57] actually. [5:57] >> Mhm. [5:57] >> Okay. Weather. Um I guess I can only [6:01] reach. [6:02] >> Do you want me to crank it? [6:04] >> I can crank. [6:07] >> Oh, there's I'm stepping on glass. [6:13] >> Which which way do I crank? [6:18] As soon as you start cranking on low [6:24] >> the other way, [6:25] >> of course. [6:29] Looks like some hoses or I don't know if [6:30] it's catching over there. [6:33] >> It's okay. They're tied out of the way [6:34] and zip tied out of the way. [6:35] >> The hoses are [6:36] >> Oh, right up here. These are This is [6:38] wiring. [6:38] >> Yeah, [6:39] >> they even cut it out here. They really [6:40] did make this very easy. [6:43] >> I feel like the engine got smaller for [6:45] some reason. It was just it was a lot [6:47] easier to install than to remove. [6:49] >> But even the removal was pretty easy. [6:51] >> Removal was easy. Like I did on my [6:53] video. This is like one of the easiest [6:55] engine outs we've ever done [6:57] >> on any car. [6:59] >> So that lower your estimate from the [7:00] office visit. [7:01] >> No. [7:05] >> That was a very serious no. [7:06] >> Ready? [7:07] >> Yeah. [7:09] >> There we go. [7:10] >> She's in. [7:12] >> It's mated. [7:13] >> Oh my god. It's in. [7:15] We have mated. [7:17] I feel much closer to you all now. Much [7:20] closer. [7:21] >> Even after I broke glass and made you [7:22] shhat yourself, [7:23] >> it it enhanced the experience, I guess. [7:26] >> Yeah, I guess so. [7:26] >> Wonderful. [7:27] >> Adrenaline. Yeah. [7:28] >> Yes. Well, I guess I'll leave you to it, [7:31] Daniel. As far as getting everything [7:32] hooked up, back together. Let me know [7:34] when you're about to fire it up. So, [7:36] it's been about 2 months since the [7:37] engine slid back into the Lotus, and [7:39] I've been waiting very patiently for [7:41] progress, and it's finally happened. The [7:43] car is running apparently. Danielson has [7:45] everything all hooked up and going. So, [7:47] we're going to head to the car wizards [7:48] in a little bit except he's not there [7:49] actually. He's in New Mexico. We'll go [7:51] with Daniel and take it for its first [7:53] drive. But speaking of turninium turbo [7:55] goodness here, look at this Fast and [7:57] Furious crazy thing that April just got. [8:00] 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse. It's her latest [8:03] project. She documented on her channel [8:05] and I got to say it is so ridiculous and [8:07] cool. I picked it up for 4,500 bucks. [8:09] And the good part is the chassis itself, [8:12] less than 100,000 mi on it. 97,000 mi. [8:15] Look at this interior with that pattern. [8:17] It's the '90s were something else. And [8:20] the other good news about this thing is [8:22] a very nice body. It sat outside for a [8:24] long time, so the original paint has [8:26] faded, but there's no rust anywhere on [8:28] this car. You walk around it, that crazy [8:30] spoiler, kind of like the Lotus, it's uh [8:33] it's just so goofy looking. And of [8:35] course, the first Fast and Furious film, [8:37] you know, they had the floor fall out of [8:38] it, the nitrous exploded, all that [8:39] stuff. It's very stupid, but these are [8:41] pretty interesting tuner cars. And the [8:43] previous owner, he was a huge enthusiast [8:45] and did some things. You can see that [8:47] hole there. Take a look at this $4,000 [8:50] car, but over eight grand into the [8:52] motor. So, the pretty purple valve [8:53] cover. Of course, that's a boy racer [8:55] thing to do along with the clear uh [8:57] timing belt cover. But it does have [8:59] built internals, a lot of stuff to where [9:02] on the right fuel, it can have over 500 [9:04] horsepower. Currently, it's somewhere in [9:05] the mid-300s, which this one is a [9:07] front-wheel drive. It's not a GSX [9:08] all-wheel drive. So, that really is all [9:10] you want on pump gas. And uh it is it is [9:13] pretty silly. But then when it hits that [9:16] blowoff valve, it comes out of the hood [9:17] and makes just such stupid silly noises. [9:20] Now, clearly it needs some sorting, but [9:21] there's the turbo there. This intake, it [9:23] doesn't do anything. None of this stuff [9:24] is is hooked up except for that horrible [9:26] air intake. So, it needs a different [9:27] intake. I would love for this to be [9:29] routed somewhere else rather than out [9:30] the hood, but April is totally in love [9:32] with it. Uh, so most of the issues, [9:34] unlike the Lotus, are cosmetic. It runs [9:37] great. It shifts well. So, really, it [9:39] just needs to look as good as it drives. [9:41] And that door handle on the outside [9:42] doesn't really work. It's just so crazy [9:44] that we found one of these just in our [9:46] backyard less than an hour away. [9:50] Yeah, [9:54] it is full out hooptie, but it's a it's [9:57] a really cool hooptie. April's always [9:59] been drawn to the Eclipse, not because [10:00] of the Fast and Furious film or she's [10:02] much of a tuner person. She just thought [10:03] they looked cool when she was a teen. [10:05] This was the car that she wanted for her [10:06] first car. She didn't get it. She got a [10:08] fourth gen Camaro, which still a pretty [10:09] cool car, [10:11] but she also wanted something to really [10:13] perfect her stick driving skills cuz the [10:15] occasional lesson here and there [10:18] wasn't giving her, you know, the [10:19] confidence she needs, especially to [10:21] drive other people's cars for car [10:22] reviews. So, she really wanted a stick [10:23] shift car that she didn't have to worry [10:25] about as much to learn. And this one, [10:27] well, pretty easy clutch, easy [10:29] transmission, and then you get on it. [10:37] It's goofy. It is so goofy. It's [10:40] probably almost as fast as the Lot is, [10:42] too. But the nice thing is, uh, the [10:44] gears don't crunch. So, that that [10:46] shouldn't be the case on mine, either. [10:47] But here, I'll slow roll into third [10:49] here. That turbo kicks in. [10:56] The noises, the noises are just just [10:59] awesome on this thing. Oh, so [11:03] this car is so much fun for $4,500. [11:06] That's how much I spent just rebuilding [11:08] the transmission on the Lotus. So that's [11:10] what I tell. I mean, you can have so [11:12] much fun with period hoopties that are [11:15] tuner cars that were enthusiast cars in [11:17] their day and you drive this car and [11:19] people still go, "Wo, it's an Eclipse [11:21] because you never see them on the road [11:22] anymore and they're not worth all that [11:24] much." You can definitely find a cool [11:25] car that turns heads for not a lot of [11:27] money with a paint job on this thing. [11:29] It's going to be really, really cool. [11:31] But for now, it's just going to be a [11:32] beater. Okay, one more time. One more [11:34] pull. Go, go, go. Here comes that late [11:37] burst. [11:41] The torque steer also. [11:45] Oh man, [11:47] this this thing's great. It's good out [11:50] of the box, unlike the Lotus. But [11:52] actually, there is some more good news [11:53] at the house. I have sold two more cars. [11:57] One of them I wasn't even trying to [11:58] sell. And the other one, well, I thought [11:59] it was completely unsellable, but turns [12:01] out somebody wants it. This Porsche 911, [12:04] it is officially sold. I got $19,000 for [12:07] this thing. One of the backup buyers on [12:09] Cars and Bids pulled the trigger and the [12:12] money is in the bank. It's in the bank. [12:14] It's in the bank. Yes. And also, I had [12:17] an interested buyer here on the Ford [12:20] pickup truck, which Magic Mike is [12:22] working on because it's been sitting in [12:23] here for literally a year, not moving, [12:27] >> of course. [12:28] >> And step one was the battery. It was uh [12:30] completely dead. [12:32] >> Yeah. [12:32] >> But with my jump pack, it just wasn't [12:34] enough to get it going. I'm also worried [12:36] it was out of gas, so I put some gas in [12:37] it. But [12:40] >> perfect timing. you know, working on [12:42] cars and filming and talking, you know, [12:44] it's it's it's not easy, is it? [12:46] >> It's not as easy as everybody seems to [12:48] think it is at home, [12:49] >> especially in a swamp where it just [12:50] rained and so all the water collects in [12:52] here and Yeah, it's [12:54] >> and I just get to sweat through it, [12:55] right? [12:56] >> We sweat it out. [12:57] >> All right. Yeah, you're at full blossom [12:58] in your blouse there, as the people like [13:00] to say in the comments. [13:01] >> It's a hot one today. Yeah, I'm feeling [13:02] it. [13:03] >> All right, so the batteries hooked up. [13:05] Yeah, we're getting [13:06] >> We'll see after almost a year. So, I [13:09] brought these chairs out. I borrowed [13:10] them from my parents for my wedding, [13:13] which was a year and a a year and 10 [13:17] days ago. [13:18] >> Yeah. [13:18] >> And I was supposed to go return them a [13:20] year ago. They're patio furniture. So, [13:22] I'll take put them in the truck and I'll [13:24] bring them over to them. That that's [13:25] >> always on the ball. [13:27] >> So, I bought this 72 Ford and this is [13:29] the trim package Ranger XLT because it's [13:31] the fancy one shortly after I got the [13:33] farm and it was cool to have this old [13:35] farm truck here and it is a really neat [13:37] spec. 390 V8 under the hood. And it has [13:41] the fancy interior as well. Kind of the [13:44] '7s fancy grandmother's couch here [13:48] material. That nice pattern there. Air [13:51] conditioning, faux wood trim, carpet. [13:54] This was the luxury truck in 1972 and a [13:57] camper special. So you could put, you [13:58] know, camper shell in the back and go [14:00] out into the woods or keep your parents [14:02] patio furniture for years. But anyway, [14:06] how's it looking? You see, we're getting [14:08] there. I quit dropping stuff, so I'm [14:10] making better progress. [14:11] >> There's that gigantic AC compressor. [14:13] It's kind of dark in here. And the hood [14:14] won't open all the way because I pulled [14:15] it too far in to this 70-year-old [14:19] Leanto. [14:20] >> Quite a departure from the Lotus, but [14:22] this thing only had two owners for the [14:23] last 50 years and just so much [14:25] preservation with it. You can see [14:27] somebody was doing their oil change [14:28] intervals up here in the 80s and 90s, [14:31] and they were printing it off up there [14:33] just to keep a record of it. So, let's [14:35] see. What's the last one? 1995 at 64,000 [14:39] miles and it is currently at 96,000 [14:42] miles. So, it was used quite a bit, but [14:46] I don't think it's turned over to [14:47] 196,000 mi based on the condition. [14:51] Let's see. See if the radio turns on. [14:53] Electrocute magic mic here. [14:56] Yep, [14:58] that's working on here. [15:02] What? [15:06] What? [15:10] I'm not exaggerating when I said it was [15:11] a year. [15:13] It's been a It's been a year. It's been [15:15] sitting for a year and it starts right [15:17] up. That's pretty impressive. [15:23] And we're charging the battery. We're up [15:24] at like 139. [15:28] They they just they don't make them like [15:29] they used to. [15:30] >> Not like this. [15:31] >> This is stupid. Okay, let's see if the [15:32] AC still works cuz it's going to [15:35] still blowing cold. [15:38] >> Yeah, [15:40] that's wild. [15:43] That's nice. That's nice. [15:50] Her first trip into the sun [15:53] in a year. [15:56] There we go. I made it into a barn find, [15:59] Michael. [16:02] >> You know, all that barn dust kind of [16:04] makes things sell for more, you know. [16:07] >> Adds a patina to it. [16:09] >> Look at that. Now I don't want to sell [16:11] it. [16:13] I mean, 8,500 bucks. And I mean, I I it [16:16] hasn't moved in a year, so I should let [16:18] somebody use it that actually wants it, [16:20] right? I mean, that's what a smart [16:23] businessman would do, but [16:27] >> Well, first I need to return the patio [16:29] furniture and and then and then I'll go [16:32] up to the car wizards cuz I think the [16:33] Lotus Yeah, the Lotus is driving. [16:34] >> I'd say that's a good call. Yeah. [16:36] >> Okay. All right. Sorry, Mom and Dad. Off [16:39] we go with a very, very dusty windshield [16:41] with cat paw prints, but it's driving [16:44] really nice. It's It's like I started it [16:47] last week instead of last year. This is [16:49] pretty impressive. They really don't [16:51] make them like they used to. I can't [16:52] think of any other way to segue other [16:54] than the Lotus don't make them like they [16:56] used to either, I guess, with this V8. [16:58] This analog old school feeling. But as [16:59] much as I like this truck, I'm okay with [17:01] letting it go because I have not been [17:03] using it. If it hasn't moved in a year, [17:04] that's insane. Needs to go to somebody [17:06] who would really appreciate it. And [17:08] actually, this person emailed me, he's a [17:09] viewer. This is his dream truck. This is [17:11] an end- all beall toy dream truck. So, I [17:14] know it'll be loved and cherished. So, I [17:16] guess if he falls through, I'll be happy [17:18] to let it go. If he doesn't fall [17:19] through, then I'll hang on to it. It's [17:22] kind of silly because I have four [17:23] trucks, the Lightning, the two [17:24] Escalades, and then the Dodge Dakota, [17:27] which is a good beater truck to have [17:28] around. So, I don't know, but it's [17:31] pretty fun to have this thing out. Every [17:32] time I drive it, I just have a smile on [17:33] my face the whole time. Hopefully, [17:35] that's the case with the Lotus. I'm [17:36] smiling the whole time when I drive it. [17:38] So, finally, let's head back up to the [17:40] Car Wizards, but he's not there. He's in [17:42] New Mexico. So, it's Daniel's son. He'll [17:44] be checking it out with me. He did most [17:46] of the work anyway. Okay. This is a long [17:49] time coming. Almost 6 months. Daniel, [17:52] son, [17:52] >> has it been that long? [17:53] >> It's I got this thing in January. It's [17:55] It's June. Yeah. Every bit of five [17:57] months on this thing. So, it's in. [18:00] >> Yes. [18:01] >> It's bolted up. [18:02] >> Yes. [18:03] >> It's plumbed. [18:04] >> Yes. [18:05] >> Does it run? [18:05] >> It does run. Does run very well. [18:08] >> Well, okay. Can I Can you start it? [18:10] >> Well, do you want to start it? [18:12] >> Okay. Yes, I'll start it. Yep. I'll hold [18:13] the door for you. [18:14] >> You know, it's nice that it's lifted [18:15] somewhat to where entry is easier. Okay. [18:19] And we have a top. That's great. [18:24] That's much better than some Lexan and [18:26] blue painters tape. [18:29] All right. [18:30] >> You got to remember the uh [18:33] >> Oh, the immobilizer. [18:34] >> The immobilizer. Yes. [18:35] >> It's been so long. Jeez. All right. I've [18:39] forgotten where it's in the center [18:40] console. [18:40] >> Uhoh. [18:41] >> Behind the shifter. Oh, the dumbest [18:43] start sequence ever. [18:45] >> You got to wait until it clicks. [18:46] >> Yep. Click. [18:49] And then [18:55] yes. [19:00] Okay. [19:03] So, some new timing belts in that. New [19:05] timing belts. [19:06] >> The engine always ran well. It was the [19:08] transmission that was the problem. So, I [19:10] guess we're up in the air. I can put it [19:11] in gear, right? [19:14] Yeah. [19:16] >> I can barely hear you over the loud [19:18] exhaust. [19:18] >> Oh, she rolling. She's rolling. [19:23] Nice. [19:24] There we go. [19:27] Yeah, when it warmed up that one to two, [19:28] that feels smooth. [19:31] Whoa. [19:33] Okay. [19:35] Okay. But it's Hubie's garage, so [19:39] there's got to be bad news. There is bad [19:41] news. [19:42] >> Do I need to get out for the bad news? [19:44] >> Uh, yes. [19:45] >> The Wizards in New Mexico to miss this [19:47] momentous occasion, unfortunately. And [19:48] it's his last trip down there before he [19:50] comes back and moves forever. It's It's [19:55] so sad. Okay. [19:58] >> Okay. So, you want me to tell you or you [20:00] want me to show you? [20:01] >> I guess show show me. [20:03] >> So, if you look in here, right by the [20:05] oil filter. [20:06] >> Yeah. [20:08] >> Look at it. [20:10] Did Did you goop it up? [20:12] >> I did just to try to stop it until we [20:14] can fix it. But as you can see, it [20:16] doesn't work. [20:17] >> So that's the oil cooler that is [20:20] actively leaking oil. [20:21] >> Yes. [20:22] >> And where does this oil cooler go? [20:23] >> So these lines, if you follow them, they [20:26] go right here through this tunnel, which [20:28] this is not removable, and go all the [20:30] way here, and they split off to two [20:33] individual coolers, one here and one on [20:35] the other side, which the lines are also [20:37] leaking from there. just not as bad. [20:39] >> And that's all one piece. [20:41] >> It's all Well, there's two hoses, but [20:43] technically yeah. [20:44] >> Okay. But like there's not a hard metal [20:46] line in the middle. It's It's all one [20:47] piece front to back. [20:48] >> Yes. [20:49] >> And you've got to somehow fish it [20:50] through like an electrician [20:53] all the way through that. [20:55] >> Yes. [20:57] >> And it wasn't really leaking before. The [20:59] radiator was leaking before. Is that [21:01] replaced? [21:02] >> Yes, we have the new radiator in. We put [21:04] the fans back in and everything. Uh, [21:06] these were leaking before. Uh, and they [21:09] still are leaking. They tried to fix [21:10] them before and like I said, I did a [21:12] little bit just to kind of stop the the [21:14] massive leak from Yeah. Just until we [21:18] can get some the correct line to fix it. [21:20] >> So, I need oil cooler lines. [21:21] >> Yes. [21:22] >> And you have no idea how hard it is to [21:24] do until you start tearing it apart. [21:26] >> Yeah, I have no idea. I think it's going [21:27] to be as hard as any other car with [21:29] lines running down the middle. [21:30] >> Okay. Ferrari that [21:34] >> maybe I can't remember off the top of my [21:36] head. [21:36] >> You just pretend it's a Ferrari and [21:37] you'll be happy. Yeah. Okay. Well, I [21:40] guess since you gooped them up to where [21:42] they're not pouring out, we can drive [21:44] it right? [21:44] >> Yes, we can. [21:46] >> Okay. So, it's kind of good news. [21:54] Off we go. [21:58] That factory Lotus roof is a little It's [22:02] a little creaky, but it exists [22:04] >> and it works. [22:06] >> Oh, yeah. [22:08] That is smooth, too. That is really [22:11] nice. [22:12] >> Well, that's good cuz early on I was [22:13] having a little bit of issues shifting, [22:14] but it smoothed out pretty quickly. [22:16] >> Back down in second. [22:24] There we go. [22:27] Okay. [22:29] >> It's got good pep. [22:31] >> Yeah. [22:32] >> Oh, the AC works. The [22:33] >> AC works. Okay. The AC The AC worked [22:36] before, just not the heat. This airbag [22:38] light was on, too, back then, but that [22:40] was the least of our worries at the [22:41] time. [22:42] >> Yeah. Also, I can't do anything with the [22:44] airbag light. I don't have a scan tool [22:45] to communicate with it. [22:46] >> Yeah, that makes sense. All right, we [22:49] got Is that dust coming out of the back [22:51] or smoke or? [22:52] >> A little bit of smoke. Yeah. It might be [22:55] just burning off some oil, but we can [22:57] take a look. [22:59] >> Yeah. [23:02] >> Oh, just some oil on the exhaust and [23:04] stuff. Well, what's this? [23:06] >> Yeah, [23:08] >> that kind of sprayed. [23:09] >> Oh, here we go. It's coming from that [23:11] bolt right there. Look. [23:14] >> Weird. Okay. Well, that's new. [23:18] Okay. Well, that's an easy fix. It seems [23:20] like maybe it's loose or maybe the [23:22] gasket's worn out. So, I can pull that [23:23] out. Maybe put a new gasket in there. [23:25] >> Okay. [23:27] Normal first test drive things. [23:29] >> Uh yeah, for sure. [23:31] >> All right. [23:32] >> Well, I also forgotten the uh fire [23:34] extinguisher. It's always good to take [23:35] one on the first test drive. [23:37] >> Yeah. Stride man. [23:38] >> Yeah. [23:39] >> Kind of had that recently happen to him [23:40] with this Gallardo. It's very sad. So, [23:42] >> all right. We'll limp it back. But she's [23:46] still leaky. And this one's easy. The O [23:49] line anyway. It's a thing. But I knew [23:53] this was going to be a process and I got [23:54] it so cheap that you know it's it's [23:57] still worth it. And with these old [23:59] British cars, it's not about the [24:01] destination, it's about the journey. And [24:03] we are still on this lovely lovely [24:06] journey with this this car. It I mean [24:09] for the driving experience you get for [24:10] the money compared to how much does [24:13] everything cost now? Unfortunately, [24:14] Ferrari's Daniel Favorite are just so so [24:16] crazy expensive for even the ones nobody [24:18] wanted back then. [24:22] I'm I'm trying to remain positive. Stay [24:25] positive.
