[00:02] ultimate security depends on how you have configured your account. Most problems are not caused by platform failures, but by going to show you the security features that I personally have [00:17] activated, which I consider essential and in order of priority. I'll be assuming you already have the basics covered: a verified account (if you do in the description), which will allow you to get up to $600 in [00:32] sign-up rewards, as well as a verified email and phone number, and a strong password that you don't use on other sites. In this video we'll be focusing on those features that truly protect your account. Let's begin. Under the [00:46] security section and this is where we will find all the functions that Let's start with the most important ones, and one of them is the authenticator application. This is an application like Google Authenticator that generates [01:00] a six-digit code that changes every 30 seconds. Even if someone has your password, they will not be able to log in or withdraw money without that dynamic code that appears on your device. Here you will see a button that says [01:13] activate. Next, Vinas will show you a QR code. You're going to scan that code with your Google app and six digits will appear. You place them on Binance and this function will be activated. Something very important is that you save the [01:26] backup key that Vinas shows you when it gives you the code. Because if you lose your device and don't have that key, you'll have to go through a verification process with Pods support. So it's best to [01:38] keep it. If you only use your password and someone gets hold of it, your account is exposed. This activated authenticator is the first real barrier against unwanted access. The next security feature, which is also very [01:52] important, is having a whitelist of withdrawals. This is a feature that limits withdrawals only to addresses that you have previously authorized. If someone gains access to your account, they will not be able to withdraw money to an address that is not on your [02:07] whitelist. This prevents unauthorized access from adding their own address and withdrawing your funds immediately. Even if this person has access to your account, they will only be able to withdraw money to the addresses you provide here. [02:21] you will find a shortcut that says withdrawal list. If it doesn't appear, go to settings and under retirement you'll find manage addresses. You press add address and here you put the name, it can be your wallet or another exchange, [02:35] address and it will also ask you to put addresses of places where you frequently pick up money and that these are yours. In my case, I have a couple of established locations here. [02:48] Once you add this list, the next step is to activate it. For that, you go to settings. Under the withdrawal section, you'll find a button that says activate, and you press it. With this feature enabled, Binance will only authorize withdrawals to [03:02] addresses that you have previously added. Another thing I suggest you activate is the whitelist withdrawal limits . You press manage and activate it. And here you will choose a [03:15] activate it. And here you will choose a protection time of 24, 48 and 72 hours. This means that if someone adds a new address to your withdrawal whitelist, they will not be able to withdraw money after the time you set. [03:28] In my case, I have it activated for 24 hours. I think that's enough time to react if I detect suspicious activity on my account. Without this feature enabled, anyone who manages to access your account can [03:42] add their own address and empty your account in a matter of minutes. Having a whitelist of withdrawals turns the withdrawal function into a controlled, not instantaneous, process. Those two functions, the auto- [03:54] indicator application and the withdrawal whitelist, are the most important for me in terms of security. Now let's talk about access keys. Biometric authentication. This is a way to log in using your fingerprint or [04:08] facial recognition. This enabled feature adds an extra layer of security linked to your device and also makes logging in faster and more convenient. For example, on my computer I simply place my [04:22] fingerprint and it gives me access to my account without the need to enter passwords or access codes. This enabled feature improves your login experience and also adds a layer of protection to your personal devices. If you [04:36] click on the manage section, you can see the devices you have activated and you can also add a new one. This isn't a critical function like the ones we looked at earlier, but it's something I recommend you have [04:48] you'll find this section on devices and activities. Here you can detect which device has logged into your account and you can also check what the recent activity has been. For example, if [05:02] we look at the devices section, here you can see the devices that are logged in and those that have logged in previously. The last access, the exact location, and the IP address. And here you can log out of [05:15] any of the devices that are logged in. If you detect a device you do n't recognize or a strange location, you can log out immediately. You can also view account activity. It shows you the [05:28] access dates, the source, the status of this access, and also the IP address. Here in this section you can verify that the access credentials are really yours. This section itself does not prevent attacks, but it does allow you to detect [05:43] suspicious activity. Now, under advanced security, let's look at the anti-fling code. This code is a word or a combination of characters that you configure. which will appear in your official Binance emails. This [05:59] function allows you to verify that the email actually comes from Binance. If you receive an email supposedly from Binance, but it doesn't contain the word you configured, simply ignore it. This word helps you differentiate [06:14] between legitimate and fraudulent emails. It does not replace other safety measures, but it does significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to fishing attempts. Right here, under advanced security, I want to show you the emergency contact. This section does not [06:28] focus on protecting your account against hacking, but it is very important because it defines what would happen if you were ever unable to access your account. This feature allows you to designate a trusted person to [06:43] contact you if your account is inactive for a certain period of time. For example, if you happen to die and no one has access to your account, that money could be locked forever. With this feature enabled, Vinos will be able to contact [06:56] someone you designate and begin the process of recovering the funds. It is not an immediate transfer of funds, but it is a preventative mechanism. To activate it, press the button that says activate. Binance will ask you to [07:09] enter the person's name, email address, and phone number. You also configure the inactivity period so that later you can contact that person. In my case, I set it for a year. If there is [07:22] no activity on my account during this period , Vainas will contact this person and they will begin the process of recovering the funds. We've looked at I have activated are, I think, [07:35] the most important, but if you take anything away from this video, let it be the following. two-factor authentication. This prevents someone from accessing or withdrawing funds using only your password. Also, make sure you have [07:49] the withdrawal whitelist activated. Even if someone is very skilled and manages to breach other layers of security, that person will not be able to withdraw money to addresses that are not on your whitelist.
