[00:02] for Holy Priest. This time in season 3 of The War Within. Grab the beginner's build down below and follow along. This guide is mostly focused on mythic plus and delve play styles, but everything you learn here can be applied in raiding [00:15] as well, but you might want a build better suited for raiding. I'll be going over the tier set as well as the hero talents for this build, focusing on Oracle. But I won't be going over Archon. Archon as a hero tree is totally [00:28] viable. don't worry about it. But for the sake of this video being more beginner focused, I just want to focus on the tree we'll be using today. Everything you learn here will also transfer to an archon play style in case [00:40] you're worried about that. But that's all I wanted to alert you to. My name is Bow the healer and let's get you into Holy Priest. Also, before we get into this one, this isn't an ad, but it's me asking for one. I'm formally asking all [00:53] my viewers if you run a cool gaming computer company. You make accessories, chairs, keyboards, products I might want to use and feature. Please reach out to me. Moving into full-time content creation is scary, and I have no problem [01:05] working with a sponsor if I would use your product regularly. Coffee companies. I I'll do anything. I promise. Okay, back to the video. Holy Priest revolves around triage. It's the main concept here of who do I need to [01:18] save next and who can I wait to save for later. Now, every healer uses this, but because Holy Priest focuses on fast single target healing with moves to kind of bonus heal somebody or save them from death, it's very important to pick your [01:33] targets carefully. A simple version of this is the tank and the healer are two alive. If the tank goes down or the healer goes down, that can sometimes advanced scenarios. Like, sure, you can heal the lowest health target in your [01:47] team. That's a solid choice all the time. But what if a bunch of spells are coming in and everybody's low? If one person in particular is going to take a spell that would kill them, they're the most important person to heal while the [02:00] others might survive another hit or two. Those distinctions are difficult to make and you will get better at triage as you play. But that is the core thing that Holy Priest teaches. It's why it's one of my favorite healers to teach. It's [02:13] very on the-fly can change from damage to healing to utility at a moment's notice. And it's all about picking the targets correctly. It's the core fundamentals of healing in World of Warcraft. And on a beginning level, it's [02:26] nice and easy. But at a high level, it can get very complicated and very fast, decisions to save your party members. But that's also what makes Holy Priest back to the spec. A spec that once upon [02:40] a time I never wanted to play. And wow, I'm kind of happy I was so wrong. It's a very fun time learning to navigate triage. Your mastery on Holy Priest is pretty simple. Your direct healing spells heal for an additional mastery [02:54] percentage over 4 seconds. And it's basically every single heal that you do, no matter how big or how small. Your mastery is a stat that I think bang for the buck is the most amount of healing you can get on Holy Priest. That being [03:07] said, haste is going to be the stat you probably run the highest or second highest. And then you can get away with a lot of different variations of stats. I wouldn't overthink your stats, but crit and mastery are really nice for [03:19] healing throughput. Versatility keeps you a bit safer and still adds quite a chunk to your healing. And I've I've done this before where I go through look at what holy priests are running. And the answer is you'll find just about [03:32] everything, even in the top 50. So, try not to overthink this, but haste is definitely the stat that you want to have the most of, or at least a very large amount of holy priest works with three core spells. Flash Heal, Heal, and [03:46] Prayer of Mending. Flash Heal is a simple spell that's incredibly quick, not very mana efficient, but does a good amount of healing. Flash Heal is your this a lot of the times to save people's lives. And don't worry about it costing [04:00] a decent amount of mana. You do regenerate mana faster on Holy Priest. save people's lives before you're worrying about your mana bar. You have plenty of it to use. Don't be scared of hitting flash heal. That being said, if [04:13] your flash heal is ever glowing, that means you've gotten a surge of light, and that means that it'll be a 50% off mana cost flash heal that comes out instantly. This can stack up to two times and is very effective at helping [04:26] you keep your mana cost down. You'll be do using other heals and doing damage surge of light proc and oh that's great. You can just use that to quickly patch someone off at half off. It's a great deal, but there's an even better deal. [04:41] Let's talk about heal. So this is a 1.8 second cast time move with my current haste value, but it does more healing than heal and for less mana. What's not to love? Well, it's that cast time. Cuz even with a lot of haste, heal takes a [04:54] while to come out. But we have a few talents to talk about here. Also, here's Lightweaver says that after we cast flash heal, we will reduce the cast time of our next heal by 30% and will increase the healing it does by 18%. We [05:10] can get up to four charges of this. This means that by using flash heal to heal our allies and quickly pump up their health bars, we'll get extremely mana efficient versions of heal that we can cast to offset our mana costs and get a [05:24] lot more work done. There's nothing wrong with going flash heal heal flash heal heal or using a bunch of flash heals and then as things calm down topping people off with the more effective heals. But the more you use [05:37] this feedback loop, the more you'll save on mana while doing your very like emergency important healing. The final talent to talk about with these two is Trail of Light. 25% of the healing done by heal flash healed empowered life, [05:51] Replicate to the previous target you healed with those spells. So, you probably saw it as I was healing here, but heal one target, another target gets This is an extremely effective way to heal two targets, of course, and we'll [06:05] receive a portion of all the healing you do with heal and flash heal. So, you can actually hit three targets with this if you're doing it right. Next up on our list is Prayer of Mending. Prayer of Mending is an instant cast spell that [06:19] cooldown will come down with haste, but it places a ward on an ally that heals them for a decent amount and then it'll jump the next time they take damage. essentially, as targets take damage, your prayer of mendings will start [06:33] bouncing around. It doesn't seem that good at first, but whenever you see it in an AoE healing event, it's constantly bouncing around, healing up multiple players. And if you have multiple applications of these around your team, [06:45] that means multiple prayer of mendings will be jumping around and healing. Prayer of mending is the backbone of Holy Priest. It's something I like to to say all the time to new players. Background healing is busted. So, when [06:57] prayer of mending is working while you're also healing, you get a ton of work done. Now, I do need to talk about our tier set. Your two-piece tier set's going to make your prayer of mending a pretty commendable heal when you hit the [07:11] primary target with it. So, feel free to use prayer of mending as a heal once you get your two set bonus. This is very, very powerful and it's going to be the crux of how this build works once you get into higher level play. But don't [07:25] video. But I figured it was worth mentioning how strong that heal is off you're like, "Oh, wow. That's really, really handy. I'm happy I have it." Enjoy that once you get it. We mentioned it earlier, but Powerword Life is an [07:41] instant cast spell with a 12-second cooldown on Oracle that heals the target for a very large chunk, but it only works when they're below 30% health normally, but because we're Oracle, it works on targets that are 50% or lower. [07:54] Um, mine doesn't look lit up ever, but it does work and it does a large chunk of healing. This is a great clutch spell that you have every once in a while and So, it can be great for saving like a few people that are dying and you hit [08:09] through the cleave and through the direct heal. So, powered life. It's a best friend. Keep it around. Keep it handy. Next up, we have Renew. This is a the worst heal over time in the game, but it's nothing crazy. We're not really [08:25] special, but with the way we're talented, renew is going to provide 10% increased healing with the target that has it. More importantly, there's a chance that your prayer of mendings will leave a renew on the target. And a few [08:40] of our spells later we'll be talking about are going to put renews on our teammates that we hit with. So that means that there's a lot of bonus healing to be done. You sometimes will ramp on holy priests by putting out a [08:53] bunch of renews, and I highly recommend that you do when there's a major damage event coming up. Having a couple of renews down can make healing way easier. And remember, it affects all your heals from your mastery, your prayer of [09:05] mendings, anything else going on in the background. It will all benefit from those renews being on the targets. That being said, unlike atonement on discipline priest, you don't need like 100% uptime on it or, you know, crave [09:18] know you need some extra healing or whenever you want to top someone off. If significant damage, giving them a Renew before you get to work on them is definitely the play, but it's not the craziest heal. Once upon a time, I think [09:33] Renew is really good. Renew, even when you fully talent it into a heal over time right now, is just okay. But we're not using it for its just okay properties. We're using it for that wonderful 10% healing bonus. Now, in [09:46] order to talk about the core part of holy priest's kit, right, sort of what makes everything work together, the holy words, we need to talk about damage. It's important for every healer to know how to do damage. And if I see another [09:58] damage, I will assign homework. Don't make me do it. But more importantly, damage and your healing. And I want to make sure you're on top of it. So, let's just go over it real quick. Holy fire is your most important damaging button. [10:13] This is a single target move that does a lot of damage to the primary target, will splash damage onto anything nearby it, and cause there to be a little dot on the target when you hit them with holy fire. If there's one button you're [10:25] pressing for damage, it's got to be holy fire. You will also receive two instant cast holy fires that you'll learn about in just a moment. Those are awesome. very easy to get down some damage, do your part, and continue on with whatever [10:38] else you have to do as a healer, you know, like healing. Next up is smite. For single target, smite is just a filler spell. There's nothing else going priest, note that this hits quite a bit harder than discipline priest smite, and [10:51] it's not a bad move at all. So, when you're using this as a filler, it's not quite useful. Both of these moves will be cooling down one of our holy words, them. Another move that'll cool down our holy word is going to be holy nova. Holy [11:07] nova is an AoE around you that'll also heal people. It doesn't do a whole lot and it doesn't even do a whole lot of damage. In three targets or more, spamming holy nova isn't a bad idea. If holy fire is on cooldown, you can start [11:22] pressing holy nova. Holy nova will also charge up over time. If it starts glowing, that means that it's ready to be cast at maximum damage. In this case, when it's around 17 stacks or all the way at its maximum of 20, it's actually [11:36] it's worth pressing. That being said, holy fire is always more important than holy nova. So, you'll be using this as a filler afterwards. There also just get to run in and just spam one button and do their AoE. It's very fun. So, I'm [11:51] happy that we have it. We also have shadow word pain, which is a single shadow word pain, which is a single target dot. Listen, it's it's really worth pressing. If you got nothing else to do at the start of a pull, sure, [12:04] just don't want to have this under your bar, I'm I I I wouldn't blame you. I wouldn't even be upset. I get it. This move, maybe it doesn't even belong on Holy Priest anymore. Who knows? Now that we've talked about damage and healing, [12:18] it's finally time to talk about the holy words. You have three of them. One of them, chastise, does damage, and then serenity and sanctify are heals. All of them create what I used to call paper ghost buddy, but is actually known as an [12:31] idol of Naru. Idol of Naru is going to follow up your attacks and your heals with a version of their own. Right? So, it doesn't really matter if you do a heal or what button you press. It'll try to match the potency. This isn't like [12:44] echo on preservation, which copies a spell. It's just a follow-up attack that does something similar in terms of H uh like healing or damage. That being said, Idol of Naru stacks do stack on top of each other. You don't get like 1,500 [12:58] paper ghost buddies, as cool as that would be. You get one, but it'll get slightly bigger and slightly stronger for each holy word used. That being said, all of the holy words will also cool themselves off with other spells [13:11] you have, so it's possible to get them back very quickly. So, let's go through them. Chastise is the damaging one. Holy chastise will do a large amount of damage and incapacitate the target. Note that your holy word chastise is going to [13:25] be reduced by holy fire, smite, and holy nova. And note that after pressing it, you get two instant cast holy fires, which I alluded to earlier. uptime with and is kind of the easiest to cool down when nothing's going on, [13:40] you know how to press holy fire and smite or holy nova because cooling this down is so important to have it up as often as doing this damage and somebody starts [13:54] healing, and Naru is going to be helping you the moment you start to do that. Holy Serenity is a single target heal, and it's a rather fat one at that. You have two charges of it, and your heal and flash heal will cool it down. Use [14:09] this to kickstart your healing. Let's say this training demi just took damage. Start with a serenity, and then go into your normal healing routine. start going is going to follow you up on every single one of those spells. And don't [14:22] feel bad about using your serenity charges. I like using the first one second one for when I absolutely need some more healing. That being said, you cool it down so quickly when you're healing that you'll often have another [14:35] charge ready for you very quickly. Holyward Sanctify is an AoE heal. Now, I take a lot of the talents that make it feel very good. Unless you're running Divine Hymn, or rather your Divine Hymn is running, you're not going to feel [14:49] very good hitting this one. But there is a reason to use it. Yes, it does power up and spawn your Idol of Naru. So, that's good. But because we're talented into this talent, Lasting Words, Serenity and Sanctify, will apply Renew [15:05] ground here anymore, so it's a little hard to showcase, but if I hit here, them, which means they're receiving bonus healing. I like using sanctify to [15:17] kind of kickstart my healing and AOE if I don't have time to manually ramp. It does serve a decent purpose, although those renews don't last very long. Still, it's better than nothing, and sometimes it's exactly what the doctor [15:29] ordered. It's not a useless move, per se, but if you know you're going to be nice way to keep your Idol of Narus running while you're running out of serenity charges. And with all of that knowledge, you kind of can do some basic [15:43] stuff on holy priest. Now, we're going to be going into a lot more here in this video, but I mean it. That is a lot of the core of the kit. Throw around prayer Try to get your whole party covered in them. Then use your holy words to [15:57] kickstart your damage or your healing. and then swap whenever you need to. Holy Priest doesn't really stay committed to one action. It's able to swap very quickly in one and maybe at worst two GCDs. All of its channel times are quite [16:10] constantly be swapping from task to pugs and it's honestly one of my favorites and that's why I keep coming back to it. But let's talk about the cooldowns as these play a very integral [16:24] role into how you will use your healing tools more effectively. especially when it's heavy AoE damage or people are just dying left and right. For our first cool down, let's talk about Apotheiois. This is a 2-minute cool down that gives you a [16:39] charge of all of your holy words and you enter a pure holy form for 20 seconds. I that. Increasing the cooldown reduction to your holy words by 200% and reducing their cost by 50%, making it much more mana efficient. But it's that coolown [16:55] part that's pretty important. you're going to get your holy words back very, very quickly. Meaning, when you're in Apotheiois, it's all about how efficiently you can use your tools, you'll be able to roll the heals and get [17:07] a lot done. Furthermore, we're talented in to Divinity. During apotheiois, we have 10% increased healing. And because we hit apotheiois, our next three heals, or prayer of healing if we were talented into it, will be instant cast and heal [17:21] into it, will be instant cast and heal for 25% more. These superpowered instant cast heals are awesome, but I really like that it's heal and not flash heal. You can still use flash heal for typical healing, but if someone takes an [17:33] just press heal and do way more than normal to top them up. I love Apotheiois because in terms of a push and pull from a game design standpoint, I really find it to be the most fun. If you play your cards right, you use your holy words [17:48] correctly, you're going to do a lot of healing. It doesn't do it for you. As much as I like rewind on preservation of ochre or revival on mistwever, this isn't that move. When you press this button, you're saying, "I know I can do [18:01] this, and you're putting in the work, and I find it so incredibly fun to use." But the same can be said about our next skill, Divine Hymn. This heals all party or raid members within 40 yards for 3.4 million over 3.9 seconds. Each heal [18:16] increases all targets healing taken by 4% for 15 seconds stacking. Now, that's a lot of words, so let's go over it. When you press this, everyone who hears the hymn is going to receive bonus healing while also being healed by you. [18:31] going to have bonus healing, meaning they'll receive more from everything you they'll receive more from everything you do. Divine him, much like Apotheiois, makes you have to play smarter. Sure, it does work as a clutch AOE heal, and it's [18:44] significantly stronger than it used to be, and it channels faster. But even if you have to cancel it early, Divine Hymn sets you up when all of your healing is stronger. Remember that affects even things like prayer of mending working in [18:57] the background. This means you get more work done for less global cooldowns. healing done. And that's why I love these cooldowns so much. They really emphasize smart triage and good play. That being said, there's even more [19:10] most important one out of the way script forget to talk about this one early. Power infusion. This gives you and a homie 20% flat haste. This is almost a blood lust. Now, when you're [19:27] learning, use this as a healing cooldown. It'll automatically be cast onto a teammate trying to find one that is using a cooldown currently. And you'll do more damage. You'll do more healing cuz you're simply acting faster. [19:39] As you get better at the game, you might be saving this to use on a particular damage, but you don't have to worry about that early on, but it's an powerful spell, and some people will even ask you if they can have your power [19:53] infusion. It's that popular of an ability. Next up on our list is Guardian Spirit. It says it's a 3minut, but with the way it's talented, it's actually a 1 minute. When the target has a Guardian Spirit on them for 12 seconds, their [20:06] healing received is increased by 60%. Now, if nothing bad happens to them and they don't die, it becomes a one minute cool down. However, if the target is killed during that duration, they will be revived or rather they will not die. [20:21] The guardian spirit will sacrifice themselves and restore them to 40% health. This is a cheat death on a 3minut cool down and a healing amp on a 1 minute cool down. Guardian spirit is also off the global cooldown, meaning [20:35] you can weave it between your other spells. But yes, you can throw this on your tank and save their life. You can throw this on a DPS and throw them a single heal and they'll be suddenly full health. This is very powerful. But [20:47] there's one other niche use case I'd like to show to you. Now, remember I said earlier when we flash heal or heal, we heal ourselves. Well, that's 20% of that heal always comes to us. So, if we put a guardian spirit on ourselves and [21:01] then we start healing other targets, we're actually going to receive a lot more healing than normal. and we're going to be able to use that healing to stay alive. So during a major AOE damage event, it's possible to be healing three [21:14] targets because of the trail of light, the guardian spirit and self-healing from heal on you and any defensives you throw in and of course your direct heal. It's a pretty powerful use of the spell and again it's only a one minute if the [21:27] target doesn't die. So make sure you keep guardian spirit around. It's a clutch move to have in your kit. All right, two more cooldowns to talk about. Shadow Fiend is a threeminute that a shadowy fiend comes out and starts [21:39] slapping the target. It generates.5% of your mana each time it slaps. Listen, this sounds kind of weird. Yeah, it's a mana restore. It's a 3minute cool, but because of Essence Devour, it's actually able to do quite a bit of background [21:53] healing for you. Between this and prayer of mendings, remember background healing is busted. So during a major AoE healing event, this might be worth sending out to save someone's life. So, I highly recommend keeping Shadow Fiend around [22:06] for an emergency or if you need to get your mana back. And one other way to get your mana back is Symbol of Hope. It's not a whole lot of mana. It's only 10%. But this 3minut will reduce the cooldown of every major defensive ability of your [22:20] party. So, that means that you're going to be able to give people back something that they can use to survive. Your major defensive is a minute and a half cool down. So being able to reduce that in a clutch scenario might give you another [22:34] defensive to live another day. Symbol of hope is way more important in raid, but realistically it can be used on yourself in a dungeon or a delve. And so I recommend keeping it around. Obviously, you won't run into too many mana issues, [22:48] should be able to get out of a bad mana problem pretty easily. Okay, now it's finally time to talk about our major cooldown for Oracle, premonitions. Now, [23:00] there's a lot of really cool things here. One of my favorite uh talents here is an additional four stacks of prayer of mending is placed on a second ally within 40 yards when casting prayer of mending. This means it's extremely easy [23:15] to set up your whole party with prayer of mendings before a major AoE damage event or in the middle of said AoE damage event. Sending out another prayer of mending is extremely potent at getting additional heals out. You're [23:28] prayer of mending as well. You get more damage here. You get a shield on your prayer of mending. It It's all good stuff here. I really, really like Oracle. It's got a lot of utility, but we need to focus on the most important [23:43] utility here. Premonition, you will have two charges of they'll recharge every 45 seconds, and at the start of any kind of instance, like event like going into a dungeon or a delve, you should be reset to premonition of insight. And it always [23:57] goes in this order. Insight, piety, soulless, clairvoyance. Now, I just said a lot of words, so let's break down what these words actually mean. And I will also have a week or a link down below to help you learn what they are. But the [24:10] season is actually going to make this a little bit easier. I promise. But let's reduces the cooldown of your next three spells by 7 seconds. This allows you to [24:22] fire out some rapid fire prayer of mendings. Yeah, you can use this on your disc spell or you can use this on a damaging move or sanctify serenity. Sure. Sure. But I'm going to tell you right now, premonition of insight and [24:35] then sending out three prayer of mendings is awesome. And remember our two set, our prayer of mending is a massive singlet target heal to the primary target. This means that you can get this massive primary target heal [24:48] that then turns into a prayer of mending back to back to back. I call it machine gun prayer of mending. If you've played disc and you've watched my guide, you know I talked about machine gun penants over there. This is the season of [25:00] machine guns. I'm not kidding. This is a really strong cool down. Afterwards, you get a strong healing cool down. Piety increases your healing done by 20% and 70% of the overhealing that you do will be redistributed to up to four nearby [25:13] allies for 15 seconds. So that means any extra overhealing you're doing is finding a home where it needs to, which is awesome. Premonition of Soloulless is the weakest. It does uh create a shield on the target. Your next single target [25:26] heal. It'll be a beefy 2.9 million shield. Sure, whatever. That's nice. 15% damage reduction for 15 seconds. It's good, but it's not crazy. It's maybe the weakest tier for mythic plus. Although, if you PVP, you know how gross that move [25:39] is. Premonition of soloulless in PvP is nuts. But then you go to clairvoyance, which is all of them at the same time at 100% effectiveness. So that means that you can machine gun penance, healing cool down, defensive, and then machine [25:54] gun penance and a healing cool down. Now that's good, but the foret makes this even better. The foret makes it so that our premonition of piety and soloulless will both provide two charges of premonition of insight. Meaning [26:09] gun three prayer of mendings. Premonition of pide is a healing buff that'll give you two machine gun p um prayer of mending. Premonition of soloulless is a giant shield and a damage reduction. Oh, and two charges of [26:23] machine gun uh prayer of mending. Then you'll be back to clairvoyance which which means you get another three. I know that's a mouthful and I keep trying to say penance cuz I made that video not too long ago. That being said, getting [26:37] out that many prayer of mendings can be used to instantly ramp your team. Basically, in a couple of seconds, everyone's coded in prayer of mendings. Or during a major damage event, you can pop your insight and start sending out [26:50] the mendings to top people off and get the AoE heals rolling. Both are totally valid. Now, you might be thinking, well, what if I waste it? Yes, sometimes you But note that spells that don't go on cooldown like your smite, your holy [27:05] nova, flash heal, heal, those will not consume the charge of insight. This consume the charge of insight. This means that you can pop your premonition, bit, maybe even heal someone while you still have the buff, and then as they [27:19] start taking damage, you can start rapidly sending these out with little issue. I'm aware that is a lot of words and if you're new it might be overwhelming. So when you have your two set or you don't [27:32] have any tier set note that premonition of insight lets you send out a lot of prayer of mending. Piety is a big healing cooldown. Soloulless provides one giant shield and then clairvoyance will provide all of the above. [27:46] Once you have foreset though every single one of these will let you chain single one of these will let you chain fire a few uh prayer of mendings. So, it gets a little bit easier with tier set. I do recommend that we if you're new [27:59] how many you have left and what buffs you have up. And with any luck, it's not out of date and I don't have to find a new one. But it does take a little bit premonitions are powerful healing cooldowns. And while you might not be [28:13] too comfortable with them at first, as you start working them into your kit, you're going to find just how flexible they let you be. I mean it. You really can heal with some of the beginner stuff I went over at the start, but these [28:25] premonitions are worth learning and they're very, very potent. Now, let's talk about a few of the other things you provide. Let's go defensives. But first, our raid buff, poweredward fortitude. It's going to increase everyone's [28:38] stamina by 5% for 1 hour. This is essentially a defensive. It just makes everyone in your party a little bit thicker. It's not the craziest buff, but it has saved lives before. You'll be happy you have it. Make sure to use it [28:51] on anybody who's just been revived so that they get their bonus health immediately so that they can hopefully survive the next thing that hits them. talk about flash heal again. Heal and flash heal will provide a 10% damage [29:06] nice, but you have to cast it on yourself, right? Wrong. You're actually binding heals says that any of your other flash heals or heals will heal you for a percentage. And that means that by flash healing somebody else, yes, I gave [29:22] myself 10% damage reduction. This actually makes Holy Priest much tankier originally, you're going to have this up for a large majority of the dungeon by accident, like unintentionally. But there's even more we can do. Fade as a [29:37] move removes all threat and reduces enemies attack range against you for 10 seconds. 30-second cool down, and what's not to love? But you can reduce its cool translucent image. Fade reduces damage you take by 10%. And fade is off the [29:53] global cooldown. So in a moment's notice, you can flash heal, fade, and notice, you can flash heal, fade, and now you have yourself 20% DR every 30 seconds and 10% basically all the time. Holy priest and olive priest is actually [30:06] thicker than normal. And as long as you remember to hit flash heal before you over to shadow priest, you're going to be able to survive a lot more than you might initially think. But we do have like a real defensive in here and that's [30:19] Desperate Prayer. This 1 and 12 minute cool down increases your maximum health by 25% for 10 seconds and it does instantly heal you for that amount as well. This is just great because it is also OGCD so you can be in the middle of [30:32] healing other people and pop desperate prayer to stay alive yourself if you don't have the time to maybe heal yourself right now. Desperate prayer is symbol of hope. So if you cast symbol of [30:44] hope, you'll get a large chunk of time off of that desperate prayer's cooldown. For a dispel, you have purify. This dispels magic like every other healer does and disease with the way we are talented. That being said, that doesn't [30:56] sound very powerful, but you also get dispel magic. This is a dispel that is a purge. It removes a beneficial magic effect off of the target. If you ever see a debuff on an enemy and it's blinking, that usually, from what I [31:09] know, uh, will actually remove the buff off of the target. Sometimes this is shields or regens that you can just simply remove from your enemies, which is quite cool. You also have access to mass dispel. This is not just a dispel [31:23] for your team. It'll remove all magic effects from your teammates that are hit by it, but it'll actually also offensively purge things that your enemies have on them. So, if a lot of enemies get a regen on them, like the [31:36] mobs right before the third boss of Floodgate in this season, let's say all moss things, yeah, just mass dispel them. All the regions are gone all of a sudden. So, it's a nice clutch move that you're going to want to have around, but [31:51] that's how your dispels work. They're quite useful. Keep them handy. Now, for crowd control, Holy Priest does get chastise, which does technically incapacitate a target, which can be clutch sometimes, but otherwise, the [32:03] control is psychic scream. It's an 8-yard range around you, the priest, and it'll make targets flee for the next 8 seconds. Now, damage is basically always going to interrupt this, but because fear isn't used very often on the [32:18] diminishing returns table, which is that moment when you see somebody get stunned stun them anymore. Psychic scream doesn't get hit with diminishing returns very easily. So, you'll be able to use [32:30] it quite often. Machines, or rather most machines, cannot be feared. And undead you remember Theater of Pain from last season, there's a whole lot of nothing [32:42] you can do in that dungeon with Psychic Scream, unfortunately. And tragically, there's no interrupt on Priest. There is no move that stops a school of magic. It's only on Shadow Priest and Silence. So, you won't have an interrupt, which [32:54] can be a little rough, but maybe hopefully Blizzard will give us a kick. That's all I want. I want one. Blizzard, give it to me. There's going to be more talents here and some moves that I glossed over. I highly recommend that [33:07] you look through your spells and your talents as you get more invested in holy priest to learn about what else this spec has to offer. But I think for a beginner's video, it's good to kind of end talking about all the abilities [33:19] there. Now, I do have a few things to bring up before I send you on your way. Now then, I didn't really talk about rotation. Outside of your damage, where you want to use holy fire before your holy nova or your smite, there isn't [33:33] really a rotation. you actually just push health bars up. And I know that sounds like I'm kidding or I'm making a joke, but I really do mean it. Triage determines who needs healing. So, you want to heal those in peril first, but [33:46] right tools as needed. Maybe ramping renews onto your party before a major damage event. But that's it. Flash, heal, heal, serenity to kickstart and push up those health bars. The loop will [33:59] play itself as you do damage, you swap to healing, you swap back to damage. You'll find that it's all about reacting to what happened and a little bit of prep work with your prayer of mending and renews will go a very long way. What [34:11] you'll find with Holy Priest is that it is that flexibility that makes it so good. And that's why, again, I'll repeat myself, it's one of the best beginner healers. It teaches triage. It teaches how to swap from different roles from [34:25] crowd control and utility to doing damage to healing, but it can do so on a dime. There's no having to swap hard swap from something or you need to get your atonements out in order to heal. Nope. You're always online ready to get [34:39] something done. Now, for anyone who's nervous about doing damage as a healer, it is important to learn how to do damage. But I promise it comes very easily as you become comfortable with healing. Just using chastise in the free [34:51] instant holy fires is a great place to start. Now, I repeat myself one more time. I don't want to see you in sevens and 10 not doing damage. I'll assign you homework and you won't like it. You'll be writing me an essay. But jokes aside, [35:04] if you are new, I promise focusing on the healing early on will open up easy opportunities to do damage later. And if you're looking for a place to do damage, the start of the pull is actually the safest part of a pull. Unless your tank [35:17] explodes on contact, all you really have to do is start healing. So, do your health bar go down, you can swap back over to healing. Remember, if you ever [35:29] won't be following my guide anymore. You'll likely be building for what your team needs, and that's totally okay. And again, archon builds are good. There's a ton of build variety to Holy Priest, even in raid, actually, and PvP. So, [35:44] have fun with Holy Priest. If you have any questions about it, definitely ask me down below or stop by stream and simply start yapping. I love talking and helping players out. Take care and I'll see you all in the next one.
