# Stop Comparing Yourself to Others: Focus on Your Own Growth

> Source: [Stop Comparing Yourself to Others: Focus on Your Own Growth](https://youtube.com/watch?v=dqlQjDO7YFI)

## Summary

The video delivers a motivational message for content creators and entrepreneurs: stop comparing yourself to others. Instead, focus on your own growth by comparing your current performance to where you were 30 days ago. It emphasizes self-compassion and continuous improvement.

### Key Points

- **The Problem with Comparison** [00:00] — Comparing yourself to others is unfair because you don't know their backgrounds, stories, or how many failed projects preceded their success.
- **The Solution: Self-Comparison** [00:30] — The only thing that matters is comparing your creator business to yourself 30 days ago.
- **Key Metrics to Evaluate** [00:46] — Ask yourself: Have you grown revenue, gained more viewers/subscribers, and gotten more satisfaction? If yes, you're on the right track.
- **The Takeaway** [01:02] — Keep learning, improving, and working on yourself and your channel—that's all that matters.

## Transcript

I don't know who needs to hear it, but stop comparing yourself to others. It doesn't matter what you're trying to do. Start streaming, build a creator business or literally anything else. When you compare yourself to others, you are comparing people that do different things
with different backgrounds and different stories. You don't know how long they have been doing what they are now successful with. And you especially don't know how many failed projects came before this. If you know anyone that's struggling with imposter syndrome right now,
I need you to send this to them. If you are that person, listen up. You need to be kind but truthful with yourself. And that's why only one thing matters when it comes to your creator business. Compare it to yourself 30 days ago. Have you grown your channel's revenue? Have you
gained more viewers, followers or subscribers than the 30 days before that? Did you get more satisfaction out of the content that you made? Then you are doing exactly what is right for your channel. Keep learning, keep improving, keep working on yourself and your channel.
That's all that matters.
