# What Was Removed from the Avengers Doomsday Trailer?

> Source: [What Was Removed from the Avengers Doomsday Trailer?](https://youtube.com/watch?v=mxyGco-XXBI)

## Summary

This video analyzes the Avengers Doomsday trailer, focusing on a shot of Steve Rogers that appears to be misrepresented. The host theorizes that the shot may actually show a variant of Steve Rogers, such as Captain Hydra, or even Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, and explores hidden details and potential character removals.

### Key Points

- **Misrepresentation in the Trailer** [00:29] — The host believes that a shot of Steve Rogers is being misrepresented after watching the trailer over 100 times.
- **Steve Rogers' Appearance** [01:08] — Steve Rogers appears with a beard, black bomber jacket, and dark jeans, surprising Thor on the Fantastic 4 ship, but the tonal shift is odd given Thor's defeat against Dr. Doom.
- **Captain Hydra Theory** [02:26] — Some theorize that this is not 616 Steve Rogers but a variant called Captain Hydra from the Secret Empire storyline, where Red Skull used a cosmic cube to make Steve a Hydra agent.
- **Worthiness of Mjolnir** [03:42] — Captain Hydra would not be worthy of Mjolnir, so Thor's reaction might be due to seeing a Hydra-aligned heart, but the host disagrees.
- **Steve Rogers in Earth 828** [04:12] — The host theorizes that Steve staying in the past created Earth 828, where the Fantastic 4 live, and he helped rid the world of the hydrogen bomb.
- **Johnny Storm in Background** [05:26] — The host identifies a figure in the background as Johnny Storm based on slender build and brightened trailer analysis.
- **Empty Spaces in Trailer** [06:14] — Viewers notice empty spaces and blurring, suggesting characters like Johnny Storm may have been removed from shots.
- **Thor's Hallucination or Doom** [07:17] — The host suggests Thor might be hallucinating Steve, or the 'hey pal' could be Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, which would shock Thor since he saw Tony Stark die.
- **Doctor Doom as Victor** [08:56] — The theory is that Doctor Doom presents himself as a friendly scientist named Victor to the Fantastic 4, but Thor recognizes his face as Tony Stark.
- **God Emperor Doom** [09:34] — The host predicts Doom will steal Loki's reality warping powers and become God Emperor Doom, with Chris Hemsworth shooting a scene in the TVA.

### Conclusion

The trailer hides key details, possibly involving a variant of Steve Rogers or Doctor Doom disguised as an ally, setting up a major twist for Avengers Doomsday.

## Transcript

trailer, and it ain't what you think. Welcome back to New Rockstars. I'm Eric Boss, and the Avengers Doomsday trailer is finally here. Actually, thank you all so much for watching yesterday's in-depth trailer breakdown video and our
2-hour trailer live stream reaction and Q&A. And in that Q&A, the biggest Molir and smiling and whether something was being hidden from us here. After re-watching this trailer at least 100 times, yes, I now do think something
about this shot is being misrepresented. We have so many cool new designs at our merch store nerdight.shop. I'm wearing this open your eyes shirt. We also have this like heart of iron doom iron man design. The new mask same task design
and a new Ned themed guy in the chair shirt. I'm going to be wearing that at trailer comes right here. >> We're going to need a miracle.
Hey, pal. It's not possible. [sighs] On the surface, Steve Rogers, bearded and wearing a black bomber jacket, black
t-shirt, and dark jeans, surprises Thor on the Fantastic 4 ship and proves it's moment from Avengers Endgame. But tonally, it is a bit odd to splice a
joyous call back between Thor's moment of abject defeat against Dr. Doom and the very grim final title reveal. And why is Thor so mystified upon seeing an Avenger who went back in time returning again when Thor himself participated in
an even more complex and twisted time travel adventure? Why would he consider is not not possible. It's very possible compared to the even crazier that
Thor has witnessed in his MCU history. Did someone lie to Thor and tell the God logic of his return journey at the end of Avengers Endgame? Furthermore, some are saying that Steve just looks off in this shot. Off in a way that they can't
really put their finger on. Maybe it's the casual Friday attire. Maybe it's the since we've seen Chris Evans in a Marvel movie. Or maybe it's just that he's smiling in a trailer where no one else seems to be smiling. Like, read the
was standing in the background smiling, we'd all assume that guy's a skinwalker. present for that event. Some have theorized that this is not actually our
616 universe Steve Rogers in this shot, but rather a variant speculated to be in Doomsday named Captain Hydra. Captain Hydra is an evil variant of Steve Rogers from the 2016 2017 Secret Empire story line where Red Skull had manipulated a
sentient cosmic cube named Kobic to rewrite reality where Steve Rogers had just applied all of that skill to serving Hydra. I am not going to rule or in Battle World and Secret Wars. I mean, Battle World contains over 40
us a glimpse of a universe where Hydra already won. In Multiverse of Madness, Hydra blimp over New York City in the 1930s. That would mean World War II had
1918, would have been a kid or an early teenager living in a Brooklyn dominated by Hydra with all those Model T's. Also, it's a little unsettling that the show. Also, it's not that surprising when you start to look into the history
Hydra because there is no way Mjolnir would consider Captain Hydra worthy. If definition of worthiness. And I don't think Thor seeing a Hydra aligned heart
in his old buddies is what is freaking him out in this moment. But I understand the thinking that this must be a variant of Steve Rogers because how else would first Doomsday teaser perhaps in the early 50s to being in the present day
I presented one theory that Steve by staying in the past with Peggy Carter created the branch universe of Earth 828 that the Fantastic 4 live in. So the peaceful no cold war 1960s that the Fantastic 4 benefit from was actually
brought about in part by having a Steve Rogers in this universe who helped rid developing the super aka the hydrogen bomb from 1948 onward through the 50s and60s. So potentially by the year 1969 Steve's son would be a teenager. So how
explanation he's always been in that universe since that final scene of Avengers Endgame. The better question really is how and why Thor is with the Fantastic 4 in this dimension. Maybe Thor uses the Bifrost to travel along
initial hero checking out all of these crises. Or maybe he got a specific his prayer to Odin that we saw in the second teaser. The way Loki seems to be
brothers saying that all four of those December teasers were actually just stories. I think now it's just confirmed that they were all stories that Loki was But the detail we miss centers around who Thor is really talking to in this
recontextualize Thor's reaction. I don't think Thor is just reacting to the sight that's really part of the big picture that we are not seeing. Some have asked
Mjolir to his hand. Yes, there is someone standing in the background there, and I'm 90% sure it's Johnny Storm. This figure has the same slender that Johnny has. And also, we brightened up the trailer, and it really does look
know it being Johnny would make sense, but many are also noticing specific empty spaces and shots throughout the Doomsday trailer, like in this big people are saying that it looks like some characters might have been removed
Storm in that group shot, and you look at the blue part of the wall behind his leg, doesn't there seem to be some inconsistency and some slight blurring, have been removed there. And when you examine the symmetry of this overall
shot, the fact that we have Bob Reynolds on the far edge of the frame on the left the right behind Thor. Someone like a second character who could just be And the shot of the Fantastic 4 and Thor entering through their ship is followed
far left that I at first thought was Reed Richards. But notice the hair. It is certainly not Reed Richard's haircut. It's someone with longer hair that would
match the way Steve Rogers hair is long or Robert Downey Jr. if he were to have floppy hair as an unmasked version of Victor. Actually, in April 2025, when Dr. Doom themed birthday party where he had specifically floppy hair looking
like this. So yes, I think these three Infinity Saga era Avengers are reacting to Steve or to Victor and we are really seeing their look of astonishment and looks eerily like Tony Stark. So coming back to this moment when Thor seems to
that when we first fade into the shot from black on the close-up of Mjolnir look down the ship toward the cockpit and Steve is not standing there.
near the cockpit. I think that's Reed Richards just way further up near the cockpit. But then the edit has Thor turn on, hey pal. >> Hey pal, [panting] it's not possible. I might be crazy
here, but that hey pal kind of sounds like Robert Downey Jr. as much as it >> And from that hey pal, it's implied that Steve was always standing there, but he clearly wasn't. So one of two possibilities here. One, Thor is seeing
goooo ghosts. Steve Rogers isn't on the ship at all. Thor is hallucinating Steve in the background like, "Bro, who are you talking to?" Also, don't point me at and duplication caster. Kevin Feige and the Russoer brothers keep reminding us
should brace ourselves for some Loki style sorcery trickery from him. But a not possible at Steve Rogers, but rather to the face of Tony Stark on the body of
another guy named Victor from the 828 universe. Someone who presented himself to the Fantastic 4 as an ally. That truly would be something Thor would consider to be impossible since he saw Tony Stark die. And this moment on the
ship is not a reunion of just two OG Avengers, but really the three actors who formed the trinity of the Infinity Saga. So, I think the theory we're working with here is this. There is an armored and masked sorcerer named Dr.
friendly scientist named Victor, last name unknown or redacted, who starts off by helping the Fantastic 4 from their reality, who ends up freaking out Thor
but just trust that face because they know it as someone who is their friend. his dual identity from them. But when Thor gets a look at the eyes under
difference between Kang the Conqueror and Victor Timely. If Kang the Conqueror if you look at someone like Victor Timely, you're like, I could trust that
going to happen in the TVA when Doom steals Loki's reality warping powers and becomes God Emperor Doom. We know Chris Hemsworth shot a scene in the TVA based
on Hemsworth's stunt double posting an Instagram story on that TVA set. Why wrecked in that scene? So, that is what I think is being hidden from us in this part of the Doomsday trailer. More appearances of Steve Rogers and a ton of
