[1:09] your goals can be as wholesome as you
[1:12] want it to be, or they can be as
[1:13] selfish. Is your goal to be to become
[1:15] the biggest VTuber? Do you want to be
[1:17] bigger than I mouse?
[1:18] That's That's awesome. If your goal is
[1:20] to create a small community to vibe with
[1:22] and to hang out with, that's also
[1:24] amazing, too. Is your goal also like
[1:25] just to upload clips of you dominating
[1:27] Valorant? Then by all means, that's like
[1:30] that's amazing, and maybe it might be
[1:31] easier to achieve your goals. Well, at
[1:34] least maybe for you guys, but I can't
[1:35] shoot [ __ ] in Valorant, so there you go.
[1:37] Goals are I think really really vital
[1:41] cuz they give you something to sort of
[1:44] What's the word? They give you something
[1:45] to look at and compare yourself.
[1:48] Basically, puts you on the right path.
[1:50] Obviously, if your goal is to be like is
[1:52] to become the biggest VTuber in the
[1:54] history of VTubers, then maybe start
[1:56] smaller and say, "All right, I want to
[1:58] get 1,000 followers first." Or something
[2:00] like this for the first year. That's
[2:01] what you guys should start writing down.
[2:02] If you guys are not writing it down,
[2:03] please write it down right [ __ ] now.
[2:05] After that, after you have written down
[2:07] your goals, it can be three, it can be
[2:08] five goals, whatever. Write down three
[2:10] content creators or VTubers that you
[2:13] would like to try to emulate. Like write
[2:15] these down right now. Like click like
[2:18] start like open up your book and write
[2:20] this [ __ ] down right now.
[2:45] So, obviously, right? Obviously, if your
[2:47] idols or your your goals is like, "All
[2:49] right, I want to be like I want to be
[2:51] like Tens or Kayday." And you don't play
[2:54] Valorant or you don't play shooters,
[2:56] then maybe not have Tens or Kayday as
[2:59] your as your three content creators.
[3:01] Same thing as like, "Oh, I I want to I
[3:03] want to be like Giguk or something." And
[3:05] he does love gacha games, and you don't
[3:06] play gacha games, and you don't watch
[3:08] anime, then probably maybe don't try to
[3:10] emulate Giguk. I think if you don't have
[3:13] three content creators that you like,
[3:15] you need to start watching streamers or
[3:18] start watching YouTubers, VTubers, start
[3:20] watching them. But what about you're the
[3:21] only VTuber I watch? I'm very honored
[3:23] for one-off, but second, you need to
[3:25] start watching other people as well. I
[3:27] mean, you can you can draw inspiration
[3:29] from me, but just keep in mind as well
[3:31] like, you know, you got to figure out as
[3:33] well what kind of content that you would
[3:35] like to do. Like don't try to copy like
[3:37] another VTuber that plays Pokémon or
[3:38] something when you don't play Pokémon or
[3:40] you hate Pokémon. Okay? So, like try to
[3:43] think of people that you that games that
[3:45] you like to play on streamers that you
[3:47] like to watch. I'll sh- I'll show you
[3:48] guys as well like what what I wrote
[3:50] down. These are my my goals for 2026 and
[3:54] 2025. My goals for last year was to
[3:57] upload consistent shorts, to reach 1,500
[4:00] subs on YouTube, average 40 CCV, release
[4:04] my first merch, make more original
[4:06] music, and to move out. I managed to hit
[4:08] in terms of like my VTubing goals, I
[4:09] managed to hit actually quite a few of
[4:11] them. I managed to do consistent shorts.
[4:13] I was doing like maybe like at least two
[4:15] or three shorts a week. Well, actually,
[4:17] at one point I was doing [ __ ] two two
[4:19] shorts a day, which was [ __ ] insane.
[4:20] I don't recommend that to anyone. I
[4:22] actually managed to get 2,500 subs on
[4:25] YouTube. And by I think I think by
[4:29] August or September, I was reaching 40
[4:32] CCV. Um so, this is like the kind of
[4:34] goals that you should have. And for my
[4:36] inspirations my
[4:38] You can see that I've got Ludwig and
[4:40] SeeDogVA. And I've got some more like
[4:42] off off screen there. So, they these are
[4:45] the creators that I want to try to
[4:47] emulate and learn from what kind of
[4:50] content they do. I would recommend as
[4:52] well not to
[4:54] not to fuss over the numbers too much,
[4:56] but just to have it as a goal in mind.
[4:58] My goals are to become Twitch and
[5:00] YouTube partner, to release merch,
[5:03] to release more songs,
[5:05] to release more songs, which you know, I
[5:08] I'm very very not good at at releasing
[5:10] songs. Or yeah, to release more
[5:12] full-length YouTube videos, to move out,
[5:14] and to create fun stream ideas, which is
[5:17] what we're doing right now. For my
[5:18] inspirations, I actually blurred it out
[5:20] this time around or for this year. And
[5:23] the reason why I blurred it out is
[5:24] because a lot of them are my friends
[5:26] that I have grow- I've gotten a lot of
[5:29] inspiration from. A lot of recent
[5:30] friends, actually. Uh Tae Hong Yi is one
[5:32] of them. Shear Tails is another one of
[5:34] them. Th- Those are two that I can think
[5:36] off the top of my my dome, but there
[5:38] there's there's a few more. These are
[5:40] some people that I've been really really
[5:42] inspired by in terms of like the kind of
[5:44] content that they do and the way that
[5:47] they handle being a VTuber community and
[5:50] all that kind of stuff. I think writing
[5:51] down what inspires you and the people
[5:53] that inspires you is uh is really good.
[5:56] Release any song and you achieve this
[5:57] goal. Yes. Yes. Like I mean, goals are
[6:00] are something that you you know,
[6:01] we're going to try to aim towards. And
[6:03] this is why um this year I'm leaning
[6:05] very heavily into trying to release full
[6:08] YouTube videos and covers and and all
[6:10] that stuff. In terms of your goals and
[6:13] the things that you want to hit, right?
[6:15] Let's say my goal was like, "Oh, I might
[6:18] I want to the average 40 viewers a
[6:20] stream." But then I look at my my end of
[6:22] year and realize that I've only got
[6:24] maybe like five viewers. This is is a
[6:25] good indicator for you to maybe try to
[6:27] change your strategy or to change how
[6:31] you how you approach VTubing or if it's
[6:33] maybe even something for you. And that's
[6:35] maybe an honest conversation that you
[6:37] need to have with yourself and the goals
[6:40] which you want to have. The goals are
[6:42] important because if you do want to grow
[6:44] and turn VTubing into a side hustle, you
[6:47] got to obviously set some goals out and
[6:50] measure up and see how well
[6:52] you can achieve those goals. That's
[6:55] true. You need a goal to keep
[6:56] to keep you going on days where you feel
[6:58] like giving up. Exactly. Exactly. E
[7:01] Exactly. So so so so, moving swiftly on.
[7:05] If you managed to write down your goals
[7:07] and your three inspirations, this next
[7:10] part is for you. Where to start? First,
[7:12] you should start off with a name. Names
[7:15] can be whatever you want them to be.
[7:17] However, in my opinion, try not to have
[7:21] names which have numbers in them. I feel
[7:23] like names with numbers in them are not
[7:25] exactly great for searching up, but you
[7:27] know, that could just be me. Your name
[7:28] should also
[7:29] be unique. Almost think of it like a
[7:32] like a YouTuber name. Yeah, if you think
[7:33] of like a YouTuber like Ludwig or Mr.
[7:35] Beast, literally like any other big
[7:38] YouTuber, PewDiePie, they have unique
[7:40] names that are like, you know, to them.
[7:43] I don't really recommend picking
[7:45] something common like let's say if you
[7:48] you pick like Yuki and you're a snow
[7:50] leopard cuz there's a million
[7:52] snow snow leopards named Yuki. How How
[7:55] do you come up with something original?
[7:56] It's hard. I like I genuinely didn't
[7:59] think it was it would be that hard to
[8:01] come up with a name until I had to pick
[8:03] my own.
[8:04] Um keep in mind, guys. My first name was
[8:06] KitKat cuz it was derived from my my
[8:09] childhood um nickname. Is it better to
[8:12] have a similar name to your actual name
[8:13] or a unique one? That is completely up
[8:15] to you. Changing my name to Keito and
[8:17] Junior123. Would Kitsu work as a good
[8:19] one? That is a So, depending on the
[8:21] name, there might be a lot of Kitsus. I
[8:23] think Kitsu would be quite common in the
[8:24] VTuber community. I think yeah, Kitsu
[8:27] would be quite quite common in the
[8:29] VTuber community. But however, there
[8:31] there is a way get around this. The
[8:33] other way to get around this would be
[8:35] something like, for example,
[8:37] um if you would have like a first name
[8:38] and a last name. Let's say my name was
[8:40] like you could call it like Kitsu uh
[8:43] I'm trying to think of a uh
[8:46] Kitsu Kitsu Harumio or something like
[8:48] that. By having like a unique
[8:50] combination, you can turn your name into
[8:52] like
[8:53] into like a unique name with both first
[8:55] and last name. Or unique spelling. Could
[8:56] be that as well. Try not to have names
[8:58] that are like four-letter really common
[9:01] Japanese names or or that that's just my
[9:03] opinion. You can By all means, you can
[9:05] name yourself what- ever you want. You
[9:08] can name what
[9:09] You can name yourself whatever you want,
[9:10] but just keep in mind that if you want
[9:12] to stand out, try to have a unique name.
[9:15] I don't think there is another Keito in
[9:17] in the VTubing community. There is
[9:19] another Keito in who's also There's an
[9:22] ASMR on YouTube, and there's also
[9:27] um yeah, I think there's only one Keito
[9:28] in terms of VTubers. How did you come up
[9:29] with Keito? That's a really good name.
[9:31] So, actually Sorry, that's a really
[9:32] really good question, not name. Oh my
[9:33] god, I'm [ __ ] glazing myself. I was
[9:35] actually throwing around a lot of a lot
[9:37] of ideas. Do I still have the list of
[9:39] names that I had? So, I was also trying
[9:41] to follow my own rules of, you know,
[9:44] trying to become like trying to have a
[9:45] unique name cuz I said my first name was
[9:47] Kit uh KitKat. So, I thought of trying
[9:51] to think of something with maybe cat,

[9:54] I feel like having cat might be it will
[9:56] lean you towards being a cat neko V
[9:59] tuber, so scrapped it. So, I decided to
[10:01] go with kit, but kit as well is also
[10:04] pretty dangerous as a as a thing

[10:08] of things. So, I think of like keto or
[10:10] keto zen, keto can, keto car, keto da.
[10:13] I've got just keto again cuz I'm I
[10:15] wasn't [ __ ] creative. I've got a
[10:17] guitar cuz it sounded a bit like guitar.
[10:20] A bit cringe. Well, actually, I
[10:21] initially came up with it as keto nae
[10:23] and then I asked my friend who was
[10:27] who was a pretty big I yeah, I asked my
[10:29] friend who was like a pretty big
[10:31] streamer as well. I was like, "What's
[10:33] your thoughts on keto nae?" And then she
[10:34] was like, "Nah, don't don't call
[10:36] yourself that cuz otherwise people are
[10:38] going to think that you're keto and you
[10:40] have to constantly correct them." And
[10:41] so,
[10:43] she was like, "Why not just use keto
[10:44] nae?" I was like, "Oh, okay. I think
[10:46] keto nae kind of works." And the reason
[10:48] why I settled on keto nae was because it
[10:50] kind of takes a pun with key, which is
[10:54] like a musical term, and tone, which is
[10:55] another musical term. And since we do
[10:58] music here a lot of the time, I thought,
[11:00] you know, keto nae. It's a it's like a
[11:03] double entendre. That's why I thought,
[11:04] you know, keto nae was a really genius
[11:06] name for for me at least. Also, having
[11:09] your name in English makes you easier to
[11:10] be found.
[11:13] That's just a given.
[11:14] You also have to think about the type of
[11:17] V tuber that you that you would like to
[11:19] be. So, think of like what kind of
[11:21] species. Like, are you like a dinosaur V
[11:22] tuber? Are you an assassin rogue? Are
[11:25] you a hot
[11:26] are you a villainous? Are you a cat? Are
[11:29] you a dog? Are you a bird? Like, think
[11:32] of like what kind of animal that you
[11:34] would like to be.
[11:35] You can also go like really really off
[11:37] script. You could be like a unicorn or
[11:39] you can be a like a like an eagle or
[11:42] something. That's genius, not going to

[12:07] content creators, content is somewhere
[12:10] that you also may have to start thinking
[12:12] about. So, do you play a lot of
[12:14] Valorant? Then maybe you would like to
[12:15] stream more Valorant. Do you play League
[12:17] of Legends? Maybe you'll be a League of
[12:19] Legends streamer. I sort of recommend,
[12:21] in my humble humble opinion, when you're
[12:23] starting out stick to one game. Stick to
[12:26] one game or to one niche. That's how I
[12:28] started. That's how many of my friends
[12:30] started. And the reason why I say that,
[12:33] the reason why I say that is because
[12:35] when you're starting out
[12:37] no one [ __ ] knows you. I'm just I'm
[12:39] just going to lay it down completely
[12:41] normal like I'm just going to lay it
[12:43] down flat for you guys.
[12:46] No one knows you when you're starting
[12:47] out. No one knows no
[12:49] I can't talk. No one knew me when I
[12:50] started out. You can pick maybe like one
[12:52] or two games, but don't pick like five
[12:54] games a week and then change to another
[12:56] five games next week. The reason why I
[12:57] say that is because no one really knows
[12:59] you when you're starting out, so they
[13:01] will usually come to you based on
[13:04] they'll come and watch you based on like
[13:05] the game that you play and by playing
[13:08] the same game you'll have consistency
[13:10] with your content, which is what thing
[13:12] what people like. For example, for for
[13:14] me at least, I'm I am a musician
[13:16] streamer. That's like the main thing
[13:18] that I do. I will I will always,
[13:20] regardless of the game that I play, I
[13:22] will always do a singing or guitar or
[13:24] singing stream at least once or twice a
[13:26] week. Can I go for a broad category like
[13:27] horror or does it have to be a specific
[13:29] game? Can be
[13:30] it can be a genre like horror. That's
[13:32] why that is why you will see, for
[13:34] example, tens. If you if anyone has ever
[13:36] watched the Valorant pro tens, you'll
[13:38] see that he will either do Valorant or
[13:40] he would do a game similar to Valorant
[13:42] like Arc Raiders or Apex or or Tarkov or
[13:46] something like that cuz they're all
[13:48] first-person shooter type games. V
[13:49] tubing sounds fun, but I don't want to
[13:50] leave my day jobs. You don't have to

[14:20] that. The one thing that you must do is
[14:22] the thing that you enjoy. If you don't
[14:24] [ __ ] enjoy streaming Valorant
[14:26] or League of Legends because the reason
[14:28] I say that is because there is a million
[14:30] League of Legends and Valorant streamers
[14:32] that it's very hard to to break the the
[14:35] zero to three viewer barrier, let's say.
[14:38] You have to scroll down so much. Do you
[14:40] know how many streamers stream Valorant
[14:42] and League? [ __ ] like thousands. So,
[14:44] to in order to get or to be discovered,
[14:46] you would have to get above like the 10
[14:48] viewers for for Valorant or League and
[14:51] that's very hard to do. It's a very
[14:52] saturated category. I do not recommend
[14:54] streaming it when you first start out,
[14:56] but however, however, however, if you
[14:59] really enjoy Valorant or League, stream
[15:01] it. [ __ ] stream it. That's the most
[15:04] important thing to do, but just know
[15:06] that you it's very hard to grow when you
[15:08] start out. I thought I think this won't
[15:09] work out for me. It can work. It can
[15:11] work. And I can go into into how it can
[15:14] work. But yeah, just think about the
[15:15] type of content that you guys would like
[15:17] to be making. Does anyone have any

[15:38] who does art? That is actually one of
[15:40] the most popular things. It's music and
[15:42] art I reckon are some of the most
[15:44] popular art. Yeah. Like outside of
[15:46] games, V tubers that do art and do
[15:49] musics like singing or that kind of
[15:51] stuff extremely popular. I reckon those
[15:53] are some of the two best niches in my
[15:55] opinion. I've seen some really really
[15:57] creative V tubers. They're like like
[16:00] they have like a split between like
[16:01] celestial something or like a like a
[16:03] mixed combo like celestial dragon or you
[16:06] can have like a like a robotic XYZ. It's
[16:09] pretty cool. I've seen like really good
[16:11] combinations of like half dead it's kind
[16:14] of like undead like cats or undead
[16:17] tigers and that kind of stuff. Really
[16:18] cool. Is it better to be indie or join a
[16:20] company? That's a really good question
[16:22] and my answer to that is it depends on
[16:25] your goals. Saying staying on one thing
[16:27] would probably be hard for me at first
[16:28] because I draw too. Yeah, I mean like
[16:29] you can make like When I say make
[16:32] something your main thing, right? I say
[16:34] that like for example, like music is my
[16:38] main thing. However, I also do some
[16:40] things on the side like Lies of P. Lies
[16:42] of P and music are not in the same
[16:43] category. Not even close to being in the
[16:46] same category, but you guys know me as
[16:49] that guy that does music and I also do
[16:51] push-up streams with with Lies of P and
[16:54] hard game. In terms of content,
[16:57] in terms of content, I actually didn't
[16:58] want to become a V tuber. I started out
[17:01] thinking V tubers are cringe. Out of my
[17:02] friend group of six people, I was the
[17:05] last person to become a V tuber.
[17:08] Partly because I didn't think I would be
[17:09] very funny and didn't think I would have
[17:11] people watching me.
[17:13] Ha, jokes on past keto nae.
[17:15] But now, 5 years later, I've been doing
[17:17] it and I absolutely love it. I also,
[17:19] when I started out V tubing, I also
[17:21] planned to be a
[17:24] League of Legends streamer.
[17:26] I've only streamed League in my entire 5
[17:28] years of of being a V tuber
[17:30] three times.
[17:31] I've only streamed League three times.
[17:32] And the reason why is because I found
[17:34] out that there's too many people that
[17:35] stream League, so I decided to stream
[17:37] other games like Hollow Knight and other
[17:39] hard games.
[17:40] Then we know, 5 years later, still doing
[17:42] it and I think we're doing pretty good.
[17:45] Doing pretty good. Have variety, but
[17:46] have one main thing to stream. Exactly.
[17:48] Exactly. Have have your bread and butter
[17:50] stream that people know you for. For
[17:51] example, what do you guys know me for?
[17:54] You guys know me for probably music and
[17:56] probably the Dark Souls games where I
[17:58] would do push-ups. Once you have found
[18:00] your name and all that, time to create
[18:02] your all your accounts on Twitter,
[18:04] YouTube, Twitch, all that good stuff.
[18:07] And yeah, it's good. So,
[18:09] now that we've gone over
[18:12] the prerequisite,
[18:15] how do we start
[18:16] getting a V tuber model? This is
[18:18] probably the main thing that most of you
[18:20] guys are wondering about and um
[18:23] and is the main meat and potatoes of
[18:26] today's stream. How to get a V tuber
[18:28] model.
[18:30] First off,
[18:31] there are a few ways to do it. There are
[18:33] a few ways to to do it. I've got three
[18:35] ones here
[18:37] or three three main ones here, but yeah,
[18:39] we'll go through all of these in detail.
[18:40] The first one is commissioning a custom
[18:42] model. These ones are usually or the
[18:44] dollar sign next to them is to show you
[18:47] how expensive they are in comparison.
[18:49] First one is commissioning a custom
[18:51] model. This one is basically you have
[18:53] it's like custom to everything that you
[18:55] want on it. It is like it's got all the
[18:57] bells and whistles. You want the hand
[18:58] toggles that that stick a middle finger
[19:00] up, then you can have that. If you want
[19:02] a custom model that does [ __ ]
[19:03] backflips, you can commission that. Cost
[19:05] a lot, but you can. Um yeah, it will
[19:08] have everything that you want down to
[19:10] the pixel, pretty much. So, the second
[19:12] one as well is customizables or
[19:14] pre-mades. Customizable or pre-mades.
[19:16] These ones are the ones which they
[19:19] usually start off with a like a pretty
[19:21] basic base and then you can change
[19:23] around the textures of it or the
[19:25] hairstyles, nose, eyes, pupil size, etc.
[19:28] to fit how like to fit your character in
[19:31] mind. The third option
[19:33] is
[19:35] to be a PNG tuber. PNG tuber is actually
[19:37] how I started out and is I think it's a
[19:41] pretty low cost way to do it and I think
[19:44] it's pretty good. To make it as
[19:45] realistic as possible, I'm getting a
[19:46] model with a 20 inch.
[19:48] So true. What I'm confused about is how
[19:50] you come up with so many ideas. Like,
[19:52] the thing is, you have to I think
[19:53] watching YouTubers and watching Vtubers
[19:55] or content creators, they will just give
[19:57] you ideas, I think. I'm going to be so
[19:59] real, this is just made it very apparent
[20:00] my brain is not built for streaming.
[20:02] That's completely fine. Like, I'm I'm
[20:03] giving a sort of introductory course on
[20:07] it, but keep in mind that this is
[20:11] knowledge that
[20:12] I have accumulated over 5 years of doing
[20:15] it. When I become VTuber, I would tell
[20:17] everyone that you helped me with this
[20:18] class. I'm very very happy. I'm very
[20:19] happy that this stream might, you know,
[20:21] it might help someone that doesn't know

[20:31] are the three main ways to go about
[20:34] getting a model. All right, next one.
[20:36] So, number one, commissioning a custom
[20:38] model. This one is the most tailored
[20:40] towards you. This one is like
[20:42] you can have everything that you want.
[20:44] You can have the right jacket that you
[20:45] want. You can have the right pets that
[20:47] you want. You can have the right shoes,
[20:48] shirt, all that good stuff. You can have
[20:50] everything down to the right
[20:53] pixel. The model that I'm using right
[20:55] now is a or is a custom model. It's
[20:58] completely tailored to everything that I
[21:00] wanted, like head-to-toe perfect.
[21:03] However, it is usually the most
[21:06] expensive. Obviously, with, you know,
[21:08] you being able to change everything that
[21:10] you want about it, it is bound to be
[21:12] pretty [ __ ] expensive. So, this is
[21:14] why I've got the gift of this guy
[21:15] opening a wallet going, oh.
[21:17] This one as well, you will have to hire
[21:20] and communicate and talk to artists and
[21:23] or the riggers, which is the animators,
[21:25] on what you want your model to look
[21:26] like. For example, for my model,
[21:29] I'm going to step into the front here.
[21:31] Whoa, look at that. I'm going to Yeah. I
[21:33] asked them to obviously draw my hands,
[21:35] you know, playing guitar, and I asked my
[21:37] rigger or my my animator to be moving my
[21:41] hands around so that it looks like I'm

[21:44] legs? Yes, my model also has legs.
[21:46] That is right. There you go.
[21:48] Uh, and I also obviously got them to add
[21:51] a little guitar case and everything. Oh

[21:57] Yeah. So, again, as well with with any
[22:00] art, it can get expensive. Art is a
[22:03] luxury. Let's not cut it any other way.
[22:06] Art is a absolute luxury. So, you have
[22:08] to obviously ask the artist and the
[22:11] rigger or the the animator, you know,
[22:13] you you have you have to ask them on
[22:14] their prices and how much it would cost
[22:16] to to to, you know, draw and animate
[22:19] your model. Short king, yeah. I love the
[22:21] style you say. I love it as well, thank
[22:22] you. Yeah. This thing like the the the
[22:25] style of the slave is like one of the
[22:27] most like genius
[22:29] ideas that my designer made, actually.
[22:31] You have to hire and communicate with
[22:32] artists and riggers on what you want
[22:34] your model to look like, which depending
[22:35] on the artist, you may also need to hire
[22:39] a character designer. Or, if your model
[22:41] artist also does the design as well,
[22:43] that's a big bonus. This model is
[22:45] extremely tailored towards you. So, if
[22:47] you want pink ribbons in in your hair,
[22:49] go for it. You can get pink ribbons. You
[22:50] can get green jackets. You can get black
[22:52] pants. You can get freaking a dinosaur
[22:55] on your head. Oh, no, talking to people.
[22:57] I know, right? Talking to people is is
[22:58] hard, but yeah, you know, just shoot
[23:00] shoot them a message. There's also
[23:02] other stuff as well. In terms of like a
[23:05] model, you'll also need other equipment.
[23:07] For example, like a camera or an iPhone
[23:09] to track your face movements and, you
[23:11] know, make your your model talk and move
[23:13] and move its lips and all that good. If
[23:16] that's what you want to add to your
[23:17] VTuber model, by all means, be my guest.
[23:19] There is other equipment that you that
[23:21] you will need when you get a custom
[23:22] model like this is that you need webcam
[23:25] or an iPhone to track your movements
[23:27] and, you know, to to obviously show that
[23:30] to to to stream. There could be Yeah,
[23:33] this I think I'm I'm going to make a
[23:34] whole separate video on face tracking
[23:37] down the road. So, if you guys want to
[23:39] if you guys want to see that, please
[23:40] leave a like on stream or [ __ ]
[23:43] say say yes. The tracking could be a
[23:45] whole new slideshow presentation in on
[23:46] its own. Commissioning sounds scary. It
[23:48] can be scary. It can be scary. Um,
[23:52] but that is a necessary thing that you

[23:58] design. So, yeah, this was my character
[24:00] design that was designed by by my good
[24:02] friend Ira Art, who I have known ever
[24:05] since we were, I think, 6 years old or
[24:07] maybe even 5 years old. I've known this
[24:08] guy for for most of my life. And, yeah,
[24:12] it is really really cool that he was the
[24:16] he was an We found out Oh, I found out
[24:18] very very late that that he watches
[24:22] Vtubers and he's also an artist. So, I
[24:24] asked him, "Hey, can you design a 2.0
[24:27] design for me?"
[24:28] And, yeah, he's good.
[24:30] He's really really good.
[24:32] Write this down. Write this down, yeah.
[24:34] But, yeah, this is my design before
[24:37] obviously being turned into what you see
[24:39] now on an everyday stream. Any
[24:41] questions? Probably not. All right,
[24:42] moving on. Moving on. So, this part here
[24:45] is the VTuber model. This was made by
[24:48] color color art. This is like sort of
[24:50] like the components
[24:52] of
[24:53] my model. Obviously, the the legs, the
[24:55] jacket, the shirt, the feet, the
[24:57] necklaces, the choker, everything was
[25:00] kind of separated out. The reason why
[25:03] VTuber models are very expensive is
[25:06] because the mod the model artist has to
[25:09] basically separate every component of
[25:12] the model into its own bit. So, the
[25:15] guitar separate, but even the jacket
[25:17] itself has maybe about 50 layers to it.
[25:21] All separated out so that the the
[25:23] animator can make it all move nice and
[25:27] flowing. I think my hair my hair itself
[25:29] is separated into like eight parts. So,
[25:31] that's why it's so expensive is because
[25:32] it's not just regular art that someone
[25:35] is drawing.
[25:36] It is it is also making it in the right
[25:38] layers. Do Does anyone have any

[25:41] art. Rigging is so much work. It is so
[25:43] much work. Reese space, is it common for
[25:45] Vtubers to buy pre-mades? Yes, 100%.
[25:47] I'll talk about pre-mades in a second,

[25:51] definitely changed a lot
[25:53] since since I started back in 2021. And,
[25:56] pre-mades are definitely a huge part of
[25:57] that. But, next slide, guys. Next slide.

[26:22] sliders and and all that. These are
[26:24] individual parameters that change
[26:26] depending on if I move. This obviously
[26:28] is working in the background, but yeah,
[26:31] this is the the rigging or the animating
[26:33] part of Vtubing. Took me 2 weeks to make
[26:36] learn how to make the model blink, open,
[26:38] close mouth, and tilt the head left,
[26:39] right. 2 weeks, yeah. It's not an easy
[26:41] thing to learn. Again, with
[26:44] drawing model art,
[26:46] rigging as well is an art form. It is is
[26:50] an art form. The rigger's job is to make
[26:51] the model move to your movements and to
[26:53] give your model physics like bounciness
[26:55] or whatever. In all three areas of
[26:58] design, model art, and rigging, they are
[27:00] all art forms in their own way. And,
[27:02] with any art form, there are preferences
[27:04] and stuff that you may like or may not
[27:06] like. For example, I really like the
[27:09] bounciness. If you can see like the the
[27:11] flap on my jacket, it kind of bounces. I
[27:13] prefer that kind of stuff, but you may
[27:15] more like you may prefer less bouncy or,
[27:17] you know, you might prefer stiffer or
[27:19] maybe a VTuber's uh sorry, maybe a
[27:22] rigger's mouth is more like can
[27:24] annunciate the words better or whatever,
[27:26] right? For Yeah, for me at least, the
[27:28] bouncy kind of rigs, I prefer that kind
[27:29] of stuff. I like to be able to move
[27:31] around and kind of bounce off the walls,
[27:32] but maybe that's not something that you
[27:35] like. That's just how I like I like to
[27:37] express myself. What I like to say is to
[27:39] look at other VTubers models, and if you
[27:41] like how their model moves, see who
[27:43] rigged it. I'm surprised your jacket
[27:45] even says that. I know, right? I know,
[27:46] right? Yeah. There's definitely a lot of
[27:48] really good advice as well I'm seeing
[27:49] there. People say Yeah.
[27:51] Chat Chat's also come out with some
[27:53] really good advice. Look at this. Oh,
[27:54] helping each other out. I know, right?
[27:56] Your model's definitely one of the of
[27:57] the more bouncy ones I see. Yeah. Yeah,
[27:58] I really prefer the kind of bouncy
[28:00] stuff. But, you know, some people also
[28:01] do like the like the more
[28:04] like realistic or, you know, What
[28:06] program is best used for rigging? The
[28:08] only one that I know of is called
[28:09] Live2D. Live2D Cubism. Getting all this
[28:12] stuff seems really intimidating. How do
[28:14] you go through that? That's a really
[28:15] good start. Um, the other options are
[28:17] like I'm going to go through the other
[28:18] stuff as well, and they're going to be a
[28:20] lot easier.
[28:21] A lot easier, trust me. So, next slide,
[28:23] guys. Next slide. Number two, the
[28:26] customizable pre-mades. This has been
[28:27] the fastest fastest changing thing
[28:30] inside the Vtubing sphere. Customizables
[28:33] are the one thing that has completely
[28:36] changed the Vtubing landscape. It is
[28:38] insane. It is so good. It has lowered
[28:40] the bar of entry, the barrier of entry,
[28:43] for a lot of people. It is relatively
[28:46] cheap comparatively, and there are so
[28:49] many options. I will admit, there are
[28:50] more options geared towards
[28:52] female-leaning models, but there's also
[28:55] some guy models out there as well. How
[28:57] to tell if this is AI or not? I'm not
[28:58] the right person to ask for that. I'm I
[29:00] get tricked all the time. The price for
[29:02] it is that there are many options, and
[29:03] it's
[29:04] relatively cheaper. And, by say
[29:06] relatively cheaper, I mean instead of
[29:08] spending thousands of dollars on a
[29:10] custom model, it's maybe going to be
[29:12] either tens or like maybe hundreds at at
[29:15] most kind of dollars.
[29:18] Some people would say that they don't
[29:20] want to be a PNGtuber cuz it isn't
[29:21] really Vtubing or it doesn't give like
[29:23] the same vibe. I completely disagree
[29:26] with that. I think PNGtubing is
[29:28] definitely way way way way up there.
[29:31] In fact, actually, a lot of What's it
[29:33] called? Yeah, you have many options to
[29:34] choose from. You got male, female
[29:35] options. Admittedly, I've seen more
[29:37] female-leaning models than male, but I'm
[29:39] sure if you search hard enough, you'll
[29:40] find one that you will like. Yeah, there
[29:42] definitely some cons as well, which I'm
[29:44] going to get into.
[29:45] The cons are you don't technically own
[29:47] the design, which means that you can't
[29:50] make a character out of it and sell
[29:51] merch.
[29:52] You can't make merch out of it cuz you
[29:53] don't own the rights to it. However,
[29:56] which I didn't think of this before, but
[29:58] thank you Chia for this one. If you have
[29:59] an existing design that you have
[30:01] commissioned or created created
[30:03] yourself, you can try to make your
[30:04] customizable look as close to it as
[30:07] possible. You won't have full control
[30:08] over over everything, right? Like you
[30:10] know, if you have pink ribbons in your
[30:11] hair or like polka dot ribbons, maybe
[30:13] the model can only do like ribbons or
[30:15] something.
[30:16] But so you won't have full control over
[30:18] it, but you can get it pretty close. The
[30:20] models nowadays are pretty good, so I'm
[30:23] pretty sure with enough time you can
[30:24] make something that you like. You can
[30:26] also
[30:27] use the design of your customizable as a
[30:30] base to build on top of it for art or
[30:34] you know, you can use it to to maybe
[30:35] make your own future custom model. Yeah,

[30:42] using your customizable as a base to
[30:46] make your original custom VTuber model.
[30:49] Really really cool stuff. I've also in
[30:51] terms of like using customizable, I've

[30:58] all the way from beginning towards like
[31:01] to reach Twitch partner.

[31:07] They give you the VTuber experience for
[31:09] a fraction of the cost. Is this a

[31:38] one exactly what you want, but I reckon
[31:40] you can get pretty close. Like the
[31:42] options are insane that I reckon with
[31:44] enough feeling around you can get
[31:45] something which you're really happy

[31:59] one it has been very popular. In fact

[32:08] that one was I feel like that was like
[32:10] the grandmother that opened the gates
[32:11] for you know customizable cuz that one
[32:14] was so popular. It was extremely popular
[32:17] that a lot of people still still use it
[32:18] to this day. And then obviously we've
[32:20] had the recent Sweeka one and then the
[32:22] prism what one as well on the far left.
[32:25] Really really good. Also I think if I
[32:26] made an attempt to VTuber considering
[32:27] cost and how equivalent of a dollar is
[32:29] in my country, I would only be able to
[32:31] aim for pre-made. And that's completely
[32:32] fine as well. Oops, sorry. That that's
[32:34] that's completely fine as well. And I
[32:36] think it is
[32:38] it's very expressive. It's probably the
[32:41] most expressive pre-made I've seen
[32:43] genuinely. I actually the reason why I
[32:46] showed the ones on here is because

[32:52] can do. So obviously with like the basic
[32:55] you know, the the the base you can do
[32:58] such awesome outfits and designs like as

[33:08] model. You can really like customize it
[33:10] so that it looks it looks like you.

[33:40] Japanese sites, so you will have to use
[33:42] the auto translate in your in your
[33:44] Google Chrome or whatever in your
[33:46] browser to you know, to navigate it. But
[33:49] Nazima, VGen, Booth PM and Etsy are
[33:53] pretty good. However, watch out with
[33:55] Etsy cuz there might be a few AI ones.
[33:57] Obviously pre-made models are cheaper
[33:58] than custom ones, but obviously there is
[34:00] a little price to pay, but in terms of
[34:03] price to pay for how good they are, it's
[34:06] it's like it's amazing. It's it's so
[34:08] it's
[34:09] night and day kind of thing. Anyway

[34:15] PNGTuber. This is the one that
[34:18] I started out with actually and is a
[34:21] really really interesting
[34:24] place to start.
[34:26] I think this one has one of the lowest
[34:27] barriers to entry. Yeah, it's usually
[34:29] the cheapest option. Very extremely
[34:32] extremely entry level and
[34:34] however it's not obviously you won't
[34:36] have like the movement and stuff, but
[34:38] the trade-off for that is that you won't
[34:39] need a webcam. You can just use a
[34:41] microphone and you're pretty much set.
[34:43] Yeah, the requirement for equipment is
[34:45] very very low. No camera required and
[34:48] you know, there's obviously paid and
[34:49] free options. Some people have even made
[34:51] PNGTuber very very expressive. But you
[34:54] obviously need the most expensive mic,
[34:55] right? No, you don't. No, you don't. You
[34:57] can have I would say you can have a
[34:59] pretty cheap mic, but you know, you can
[35:02] also try to spruce it up a little bit as
[35:04] well. Question, how often did you stream
[35:05] when starting out? I
[35:08] think I did twice a week. Twice a week,
[35:09] but my advice is do it as many times as
[35:12] you can. Do it as many times as your
[35:15] schedule allows. So I'm not saying quit
[35:17] your day job and start streaming 12
[35:19] hours a day for 7 days a week. In fact
[35:21] actually I recommend do not do that.
[35:23] That's my huge suggestion is to not do
[35:25] that. Yeah, so PNGTuber is just
[35:27] basically the type of image and it just
[35:29] either moves or lights up when you talk.

[36:58] more devious option and it's called make
[37:01] it yourself, which costs $0. But the
[37:05] cost of it will be your sanity. Anyone
[37:07] that draws or rigs that yourselves or
[37:09] you know, does any of that, respect to
[37:10] you guys. That is some insane work and
[37:13] it is really really hard to do. It's
[37:15] really really really hard to do, but if
[37:16] you can do it at the cost of your
[37:18] sanity, by all means please be my guest.
[37:21] What if doing it bad sets you apart?
[37:23] Then 100% do that. 100% do that. There's
[37:26] a reason why custom models are
[37:27] expensive. Exactly. There is a reason.
[37:28] However, on the bright side you also
[37:30] have ultimate creative freedom. At the

[37:36] like making it yourself, I do have a few
[37:38] examples. You could make like a PNGTuber
[37:41] like a Picrew or like a VRoid or like a
[37:43] Microsoft Paint if God forbid you want
[37:46] to use Microsoft Paint for your next
[37:47] VTuber model. VRoid is a custom you can
[37:51] make your custom 3D model
[37:53] with a bunch of like assets and stuff.
[37:56] But yeah, there's definitely ways that
[37:57] you can
[37:59] that you can create your own PNG models.
[38:01] You can use like a Picrew or something.

[38:05] In terms of equipment, we obviously in
[38:07] terms of like the face tracking stuff,
[38:09] there's a few ways to go about it. There
[38:11] is like a camera you can use like a
[38:12] webcam. You can use a DSLR camera so
[38:15] it's like one of those fancy $4,000
[38:17] cameras. Don't know why you would want
[38:19] that, but you can use it if you want.
[38:20] And you can also use an iPhone. An
[38:23] iPhone paired up with the tracking
[38:26] software
[38:28] on your computer
[38:29] can do some really really good stuff
[38:31] like this.
[38:32] Like all that. I can see what I or I can
[38:35] also pop my cheeks out as well. I can
[38:36] also pop my cheeks out.

[38:46] happens with your face and then relays
[38:48] it onto your VTuber model. The
[38:50] microphone as well is also very

[38:53] and your streaming device. Your
[38:55] streaming device will probably maybe
[38:58] have to be like a computer or a laptop,
[39:00] but keep in mind that VTuber models
[39:03] depending on how intensive they are will
[39:06] take up resources on your computer. The
[39:08] iPhone tracking basically bumps up the
[39:11] the tracking and and you know, the mouth
[39:14] movements to an insane level. Obviously
[39:17] it's an it's an iPhone that has Face ID,
[39:20] so it's an iPhone 10 and above. You can
[39:21] probably get an iPhone 10 for fairly
[39:23] cheap second hand.
[39:25] But yeah, just keep in mind that when
[39:27] you use a webcam or a camera, the
[39:29] tracking quality may be down a little
[39:31] bit. What brand of webcam do you
[39:33] recommend? Anything that does 30 to 60
[39:35] frames like 1080p or you know, I started
[39:39] out with a 720p camera. So literally
[39:41] anything that that's just okay. Yeah, so
[39:43] you might need you definitely probably
[39:45] need a laptop or a computer to stream
[39:49] with a VTuber model or a PNG. All right,

[39:56] my final final advice for you guys is to
[40:00] be brave. Be brave. Set a date for
[40:03] yourself when you're going to look for a
[40:05] model or open up a Twitter or Twitch
[40:07] account or even go live. Set yourself a
[40:10] date and hold yourself to it. Set
[40:12] yourself a date and hold yourself to it.
[40:14] My most biggest advice is
[40:17] do VTubing for the love of the game and
[40:20] for fun.
[40:21] Do not do it purely for numbers. I Me
[40:24] and many other VTubers and content
[40:26] creators get into this trap of doing it
[40:31] like you know, getting really stuck into
[40:32] the numbers and like oh like would this
[40:34] do well?
[40:35] First and foremost, do it because you
[40:36] enjoy it. I'm being dead serious because
[40:38] if you do it for numbers,
[40:40] you will be unhappy, you will burn out,
[40:43] you will give up. Hell, I almost gave up
[40:45] about a year ago.
[40:47] I was close to giving up a year ago
[40:49] because I was so into like the numbers
[40:52] that I did I kind of didn't see why I
[40:54] even started it in the first place. And
[40:57] don't be afraid to suck when you start.

[41:01] when I started. If I look back to this

[41:35] Stream once and see if you like it cuz
[41:37] I've seen people they've spent months
[41:39] they've put six months together all
[41:40] right, I've got a really good PC. I've
[41:42] got an amazing model, 500 toggles,
[41:43] amazing.
[41:45] And then they stream maybe for a week
[41:47] and they realize that they don't like
[41:49] it.
[41:49] And they quit. So, I'm going to save you
[41:52] the trouble for and pain of spending
[41:55] thousands and thousands of dollars, do
[41:57] not
[41:59] buy stuff for VTubing
[42:02] unless you've streamed once. And thank
