Turn Clutter Into $500 Fast
35sImmediate, actionable tip that anyone can do right now, making it highly shareable.
โถ Play Clip[00:00] I've got a whole lot to cover in this video. So I'm just gonna get right into it. These are the 15 easiest side hustles for the average person like you and me. And I'm gonna split this into two sections.
[00:13] The first section will be in person side hustles and the second part will be online, the digital side hustles that you can just do from home. So the first one is this is a legit side hustle
[00:25] but I think no one thinks about this. This is literally the easiest thing to do if you wanna make some side cash right now. You can start today. First thing is to sell old things that you don't use anymore on places like Facebook marketplace
[00:39] or Craigslist. This is the easiest one. I am sure you can find things at your place and sell them and make $500 in the next month. Okay, second one is pet sitting, slash house sitting,
[00:51] slash babysitting. You do need to have kind of the right circumstances. AKA you don't have a kid or you don't really have a pet and you don't really have a job that you have to go in person.
[01:03] So like if you have a remote job like you kind of need the right circumstances but this is also very, very easy to do especially house sitting and pet sitting. How you can start is just spread the work within your network
[01:15] or you can also use websites like Rover which I have used before. It definitely works. Third one is delivering for Uber Eats or DoorDash or any of those food delivery service companies.
[01:28] So you do need a car though and let me tell you. I did try it out for about a month. I did Uber Eats about two years ago and it was good money. I think I made about $20 to $25 on average per hour
[01:40] which was it's okay. But the thing I hated was I suck at parking and I get dizzy when I drive for really, really long time because I'm looking outside and then I have to look at the GPS, right?
[01:52] So I didn't like it after a month but this is really easy to do if you have a car and like it's on a weekday night or weekend and you have time meant to drive around. The process for getting approved, I thought was very simple
[02:06] and this is way better than driving for actual Uber because I don't know if I would want to do actual Uber because I don't want to talk to people and have strangers in my car but for these food delivery services you just go to the restaurant
[02:18] and then go to the person's house and drop it off at the door. You don't need to talk to anybody. Fourth one is to flip items. I have a very good friend who does this in the clothing slash shoe slash perfume sector
[02:33] and I think she makes good money. So the thing is you kind of have to know the market so you need some prior knowledge. Maybe consider this if you are already very, very interested in like some specific kind of product.
[02:46] I think my friend is it on eBay everything but that's something you can look into if you're very familiar with like one kind of product that people love. Okay, fourth one is tutoring or teaching. Yes, you do need to have some kind of skill
[03:00] but I would argue actually that we all have some skill. So the easiest one, I can think of for everybody is your native language. You can always tutor that. It could be very easy to put up some flyers
[03:13] in like some community areas. Like you know those like boards sometimes at community centers where it's like looking for a French tutor, you know. So you can teach some kind of skill that you have. It could be a language, it could be math,
[03:27] like you could teach high school students. I was a tutor before. It's very easy. You can use your network and see if there are any parents who want their children to learn something. But I would say the hard part is actually getting the clients
[03:40] but there are things you can do like put up flyers, talk to people. Yeah, there are things you can do. The next one is to get a part time job. So the title of this video is side hustles, not side businesses. So actually getting a part time job is a very good side hustle,
[03:55] I think on top of your full time job or full time commitments. And this is really good especially if you plan on freelancing in the future. There are a lot of jobs where I'll share my screen later
[04:08] but like on indeed for example, like if you search something like for me, I would maybe have to get a part time job as a content creator or like a video editor for a company and these are like skills that I have
[04:20] which I can like freelance or like I already have the skills, right? So if you know like writing graphic design photography, you would go to indeed and then search up jobs,
[04:32] part time jobs where you can get hired and like do that work. Another really good side job is helping out at events. So like weddings, big events, like big festivals.
[04:44] One I can think of in Vancouver is like working at playland in the summer part time like on the weekends. So that could be a very good side hustle. And then also like maybe one or two days a week like working at a restaurant or at a cafe or at a,
[04:59] or let me tell you, I have one friend who did this. She was so bored at her actual job, she got a retail job at a home like store, like home sense or something and like she gets discounts on it.
[05:11] Right and you literally have to go there just once a week, you know, any discount on your favorite store. I'm so sorry, my hair is in the microphone, I feel like I should maybe move it actually. I'm just gonna hold the microphone here in front of my mouth.
[05:25] Okay, the next one is to sell greeting cards or an art service and I definitely did this before. I learned calligraphy and then I sold greeting cards. The thing is you gotta design it and you gotta find people to buy it.
[05:38] But I think it's a very easy thing because you could literally Google how to DIY some greeting cards make something similar or you could like design something on the computer and then go print it at a print shop and then you could sell it.
[05:51] So I think it's very easy to start doing that, especially because Christmas is coming around. The next one is freelancing something that requires you to be in person. Like photography or videoographer
[06:04] and I guess in this section I can also include calligrapher because I am a calligrapher and sometimes I get hired to make like wedding signage and stuff like that. The hard part is finding the clients but if you use a networking strategy
[06:18] which I talk a lot about in this video, there's a ton of tips I have in my freelancing video. You can get clients that way and do not underestimate the power of word of mouth. Okay, so these were all the physical in-person ones
[06:31] and now I'm gonna move on to the online ones. So the first online one is to teach English or another language on language learning apps. I have a friend who did this and it was very easy to start
[06:44] and like you don't have to know like for me I'm like a native English speaker but like I'm not that familiar with English grammar. So if I were to use these language apps and teach on them I would pick the ones where it's just like
[06:57] people are looking for a conversational lesson and not like a grammar lesson and I think that's very easy. There are so many of these language learning apps and you can do it from anywhere.
[07:09] Next one is content creation which somewhat argue it is hard but I would say if you are considering some kind of online business I think I personally think
[07:21] I think content creation is my favorite one because there are so many income streams that you can have with content creation like let me tell you. You can do brand deals, you can have affiliate income.
[07:33] If you're doing YouTube, there's YouTube ad sense and you can start an email list and you can sell things, you can sell products to your audience. Like there's so many things that you can do with content creation and concretion can also open a lot of doors and opportunities.
[07:48] So the thing is like it's gonna take a while for you to make money but it's I think one of the best businesses to start because there are just so many, so many opportunities and everybody has something they can talk about.
[08:01] I truly believe that everybody has something that they're passionate about, that they're interested in and you all have a phone, okay? You can start recording with your phone. Yeah, phone is fine for like Instagram and TikTok.
[08:14] If you're doing YouTube, I would say yeah, a phone but if you got it in the last three issues that should be fine. Audio is way more important than video quality though on YouTube, so I would highly recommend even just getting like a $50 microphone
[08:26] and using that if you're starting a YouTube channel. It's easy to start, it's a little bit harder to monetize but once it is monetized, it can be really, really good. Next one is a virtual assistant. So if you're the kind of person who is really good
[08:40] at just a whole bunch of things online and you know how to use technology and different kinds of software, if you have dabbled in like marketing and stuff like that, social media, you're good at writing. Like there's actually a lot you can do
[08:53] with virtual assistants. You have to be really organized though. So I would say once you get the client, it could be very easy especially if the client gives you like specific instructions on what they want you to do. But the hard part is getting the client.
[09:06] So there are different ways and being a VA is also, it is freelancing so I would recommend checking out my freelancing video for networking tips. I don't think using like Upwork is really that good.
[09:19] Even I like hiring people from Upwork but I think if you're trying to be a freelancer it's gonna be really hard to get clients on Upwork but if you use a networking strategy which you can watch that video for more information
[09:31] it could be very good and if you just spread the word and connect with different business owners there's a lot like that you could do with virtual assistants. Okay next one is social media management
[09:44] which is another type of freelancing and I would say if you're on social media a lot if you know something about marketing it could be very easy. I think a lot of businesses are looking for marketing
[09:56] and social media help especially if you are like a younger person and grew up with social media I think it's very easy for you to get into it and there's so many videos online about how to grow
[10:09] on social media and what are different marketing strategies. It could be very good if you have that skill which I don't think is a very hard skill to learn if you don't have it but the thing is it's hard to find clients
[10:21] but I think it's very doable. You can use a networking strategy I would go to networking events. There's word of mouth connecting with people on LinkedIn you can approach local businesses in your area but I would say networking is probably the best thing.
[10:34] Okay the next one is helping small businesses make websites. I think this could be really really good because there are a lot of like small businesses and these are like let's say restaurants or like salons
[10:49] that don't really have a good website and it could be very easy to research like just in your area research these small businesses that are on Google but don't have a website or they have a sucky website and then you can approach them.
[11:03] I think it's better if you go in person and actually be a customer like if it's a restaurant actually go to the restaurant but then you could talk to the manager and be like hey like I really enjoyed the food but I was looking at your restaurant earlier at the menu
[11:15] and where I was looking on Google and I see that you don't really have a website. I'm actually a freelance website designer like would you be interested in like getting a website up and running for your restaurant.
[11:27] I think that could be very good. The next one is the Amazon influencer program which I recently made a video about. I think it could be very good. If you are comfortable on camera or you want to try it out
[11:39] I tried it out for a month. I share my results in this video and I think it's very easy to start. I think it could be very good. You just need to make a lot of videos. There is an approval process which I don't think is very hard
[11:51] for the average person. You need some kind of social media and then once you get approved need to make three videos and then Amazon needs to approve those videos and then you're good to go, you can make review videos and the income is pretty passive too.
[12:05] Okay, the next one is selling printables. So I know I talk a lot about selling digital products on Etsy, on my YouTube channel and I do want to add this in because I think if you have the right skills
[12:17] like if you have a good eye for design and if you have a good niche this could be really, really good as a side hustle. I think for the average person who doesn't really know how to use graphic design
[12:29] or isn't familiar with like Canva or using mid-journey or designing things like there's a learning curve but it could be very good passive income. For example, like selling on Etsy and I am starting my second Etsy shop
[12:42] which I talk about in my previous video about how I'm gonna do that and how I'm gonna make hopefully $1,000 to $2,000 with my second Etsy shop selling Wall Art. If you're interested I have a whole lot of videos on how to make money with digital products on Etsy
[12:57] so you can check that out and see if that's something you want to do. Honestly, there are no easy side hustles other than maybe house sitting and selling your old items. All of these require some level of time and effort
[13:09] and marketing and getting clients or making products but the most important thing, the most important thing is that you do something where it aligns with your knowledge and your skills and what you're interested in.
[13:21] Don't just go for those like hot business ideas that you see all the time on YouTube including like the Etsy shop and AI business ideas which is really hot and I know yes I talk about Etsy all the time on my YouTube.
[13:34] See if it's right for you. I don't think Etsy is for everyone. Like I don't think freelancing is for everybody. I don't think flipping items is for everybody. It really depends on what your knowledge is and what you know how to do. If you are interested in starting business
[13:47] I do have a business starter path that you can download. This is completely free. It has a whole bunch of things in it like a business plan template. How to start a UGC business. How to start content creation on YouTube. How to start an Etsy shop and a whole bunch of other things.
