27:55[00:00] shown him the type of anime that
[00:02] probably brought the most people into
[00:04] this Rabbit Hole so much so that a lot
[00:06] of people clueless about anime might
[00:07] think that that's all the medium offers
[00:09] while that's a big mistake on their part
[00:11] I do think that even if we were to look
[00:13] at just Anime for the shown in
[00:14] demographic you'll find a whole spectrum
[00:16] of genres and themes to like there's
[00:18] just so much the world of Shonen has to
[00:20] offer and my job for today's video is to
[00:22] share what I think are 30 of the best
[00:24] ones the current century has given us
[00:27] just keep in mind I'm not going to be
[00:28] including any romance anime in this
[00:30] since I plan to make a whole different
[00:31] video for
[00:39] that number 30 is World
[00:46] trigger World trigger may seem to be a
[00:49] curious way to open our list of tops
[00:51] shown in anime well it feels great to
[00:53] feature some underrated goodies once in
[00:55] a while once World trigger got that
[00:57] makes it special I'd say it's the
[00:58] battles and the World building trigger
[01:00] takes place in a very interesting
[01:01] setting with a lot of things to make you
[01:03] eager to know more pair that with an
[01:05] interesting set of characters and
[01:06] battles which emphasize strategy instead
[01:08] of the usual PowerUp spamming you see in
[01:10] Shonen and you have yourself a unique
[01:12] experience in Shonen parts of the
[01:14] anime's first season are admittedly
[01:16] quite slow to get through which I feel
[01:17] contributed to its lack of popularity
[01:19] along with the same season taking up
[01:21] over 70 episodes it's not hard for me to
[01:23] see why its current status is as an
[01:25] underrated gem stick with World trigger
[01:27] though and the reward makes the journey
[01:29] worth it
[01:33] next up at 29 is spy
[01:46] family if you thought that Shonen was
[01:48] all about the action and all the laughs
[01:50] then you'd be sorely mistaken not that
[01:52] those elements are absent in one of the
[01:53] latest big kits the industry has given
[01:55] us but spy family adds a really
[01:57] wholesome familiar touch to the whole
[01:59] thing a story story about a badass
[02:01] pretend family filled with Secrets has
[02:03] the ingredients for an over-the-top
[02:04] comedy but there's this heartwarming
[02:06] feeling of home that it emphasizes over
[02:08] a lot of its shown and peers I think
[02:10] that that's the extra touch that makes
[02:11] this show stand out in a world where
[02:12] everyone's very intent on giving a
[02:14] spectacle in the form of animation and
[02:16] fights in a world where you get more
[02:17] action the louder and more outrageous
[02:19] you are there's something attractive in
[02:21] an anime that's supposed to be so crazy
[02:23] yeah comforting
[02:30] 28 on the list is Black
[02:38] Clover speaking of loud and proud that's
[02:41] the immediate first impression anyone
[02:43] would get of Black Clover I got to be
[02:44] honest ARA as a main character is pretty
[02:47] annoying early on and I wouldn't blame
[02:49] anyone who got dissuaded from continuing
[02:50] because of him fast forward a few more
[02:52] acts however and I'd say that I didn't
[02:53] regret sticking with Black Clover not
[02:56] one bit sure the anime as a Shonen isn't
[02:58] anything too special if you've seen a
[02:59] lot of long running battle series but it
[03:01] still got some pretty hype fights down
[03:03] the line and a whole lot of badass
[03:04] moments Black Clover may not seem too
[03:06] impressive in hindsight now that we've
[03:08] been exposed to more anime that pushed
[03:09] the limits in terms of fight animation
[03:11] and height battles but back in the
[03:12] mid-2010s seeing the return of the long
[03:14] running battle shown in was pretty
[03:26] cool if you prefer the spicier side of
[03:29] show however you can give food Wars a
[03:38] shot ah a name that I haven't heard in a
[03:41] while food Wars doesn't exactly have the
[03:43] most Stellar reputation in 2024 but at
[03:45] this point in time it's a legitimately
[03:47] compelling anime cooking anime isn't as
[03:49] common but add some major ingredients
[03:51] like engaging characters tense arcs and
[03:53] cooking battles and of course the fan
[03:55] service it's always been known for and
[03:57] you've got one of the hot upand
[03:58] cominging showen in the 2010s food Wars
[04:00] had a thing going for it and it
[04:02] understandably burst into the scene
[04:03] quite early on some arks that give the
[04:04] heart pumping shown and feel along with
[04:06] a dash of rather heavy fan service and
[04:08] characters that you can't help but root
[04:10] for serve as an epic recipe to make this
[04:12] a good choice to pick up do take note of
[04:14] the warnings with the sexual content
[04:17] though first spawns anime Finds Its way
[04:20] to number 26 on the list hajim may know
[04:23] IO
[04:31] IO has pretty much been the poster chard
[04:33] for boxing anime there's not a lot of
[04:34] boxing anime in the first place and IO
[04:36] has easily established a legacy for
[04:38] itself building primarily upon high
[04:40] stakes matches and character moments
[04:42] that more than embody what people love
[04:43] about Combat Sports too much the drama
[04:46] the story lines behind each match and
[04:47] the sequences that unfold in every
[04:49] Showdown now that's what makes these
[04:50] animes so fun to watch and follow that's
[04:53] not to say that none of the other anime
[04:54] related to boxing or Combat Sports Falls
[04:56] Way short in those elements relative to
[04:58] IO still credit where credit's due IO
[05:01] has endured for this long and captured
[05:02] so many hearts and it more than deserves
[05:10] it let's take a look back at some
[05:13] Classics for number 25
[05:20] Doro Doro is a triumphant example of a
[05:23] remake done right it's captured the Dark
[05:25] Fantasy aspects and the underdog story
[05:27] elements that made the original so
[05:29] special and given them the touchup that
[05:31] it oh so deserves we're talking about
[05:33] some big moments recreated with modern
[05:34] production values and a non-nonsense
[05:36] approach to adapting a story dororo is
[05:38] an anime that doesn't have a lot of lull
[05:40] in its two core run despite being a
[05:42] rather character Centric work as a story
[05:44] it's a pretty simple one that holds
[05:45] itself spectacularly well thanks to the
[05:47] great art unique Aesthetics and great
[05:49] progression if you want to see a remake
[05:51] that has in lots of ways outdone the
[05:53] dated original dororo might be a
[05:57] jam how about throwing an unexpect Ed
[06:00] title on the list for number 24 mariati
[06:02] the
[06:14] Patriot now here's a show I didn't
[06:16] really hear anyone talk about even back
[06:18] when it was airing moranti the Patriot
[06:20] comfortably sat in its Niche territory
[06:22] understandable given what was in the
[06:23] chart that season little did people know
[06:25] that a season headlined by jiujitsu
[06:27] Kaizen and Hau season was this under
[06:29] ated gem that looks to introduce anime
[06:31] fans to Sherlock Holmes while shedding
[06:33] new light on the literary classic it's a
[06:35] quite edgy and thrilling game of cat and
[06:37] mouse with fans having compared it to
[06:38] death note at times now if you're a fan
[06:40] of Sherlock Holmes this anime is a
[06:42] must-watch otherwise feel free to still
[06:44] give it a shot especially if you have a
[06:45] thing for Crime fiction stories the
[06:47] battles of wits will keep your eyes
[06:48] glued to the screen for over 20 episodes
[06:50] of good
[06:53] stuff L's Paradise is in at number 23
[07:04] [Music]
[07:07] hell's Paradise is a show that I had
[07:08] high expectations for going into its
[07:10] season I thought that it had what it
[07:11] takes to be a breakout hit it's got a
[07:13] dark atmosphere the intense Shonen fight
[07:15] sequences and a group of characters who
[07:17] shine in their ways it didn't quite
[07:18] become the mainstream hit that I thought
[07:20] it would be but it did give us a pretty
[07:22] damn good action adventure title the
[07:23] anime looking beautiful is one way I can
[07:25] describe it and it really depicted what
[07:27] you'd want from a perilous Adventure in
[07:29] an island of Terror so to speak looking
[07:30] back I think that hell's Paradise is a
[07:32] victim of overly high expectations after
[07:35] all everyone's super high on mappa after
[07:37] their work with jiu-jitsu Kaizen
[07:38] chainsaw man and Attack on Titan but
[07:41] don't let that discourage you hell's
[07:42] Paradise is still one hell of a Thrill
[07:49] Ride at number 22 is my hero Academia
[08:02] for the better part of the late 2010s my
[08:05] hero Academia served as the face of
[08:06] mainstream shown in it had everything
[08:08] you'd expect in one from an action show
[08:10] for impressionable youth with an overall
[08:12] uplifting tone and a colorful cast of
[08:14] characters it differentiates itself from
[08:16] a number of its contemporaries that have
[08:17] started veering towards cynicism coming
[08:19] out right when superhero fever was
[08:21] heading to its climax was also a nice
[08:22] move and throughout multiple Seasons my
[08:24] hero Academia has sent its fans through
[08:26] a whole roller coaster of emotions my
[08:28] hero Academia feels like like one of the
[08:29] most basic Shonen in the modern era on
[08:31] the flip side though it's got a lot of
[08:33] content in the form of anime seasons and
[08:34] movies plus a long run in the
[08:36] foreseeable future and it's pretty easy
[08:38] to get into a really good choice for a
[08:40] beginner
[08:41] [Music]
[08:52] Shonen right next at number 21 we take a
[08:55] look at Blue
[08:58] lock w
[09:00] [Music]
[09:02] [Applause]
[09:05] and just like that we have a sport
[09:06] hellbent on subverting all the trends
[09:08] we've come to associate with Shonen out
[09:10] with the power of friendship thing as
[09:12] blue lock is all about one message
[09:14] humans can be selfish in their goals and
[09:16] at times they have to unleash the
[09:17] darkness within them and their road to
[09:18] be the very best now that might seem
[09:20] like a dramatic and hamfisted way of
[09:22] selling the theme but that's precisely
[09:23] the premise that sets blue lock apart
[09:25] from the typical Sports Anime and it
[09:26] does make for a very interesting look to
[09:28] get people to watch watch this overall
[09:30] blue lock is interesting in the ways it
[09:32] showcases its characters I really like
[09:33] how the anime entwines character
[09:35] development with some of the more
[09:36] grounded aspects of sports psychology
[09:38] especially the parts we don't tend to
[09:39] shine the spotlight
[09:48] on how about a thrilling mystery to
[09:51] shake things up a bit promis Neverland
[09:53] is number 20
[09:59] [Music]
[10:06] and quite fittingly we escalate further
[10:08] into the dark and Bleak side of Shonen
[10:11] with promised nland the year 2019 was
[10:13] off to a good start thanks to this show
[10:14] which quickly exploded into the main
[10:16] stream something that you don't often
[10:18] see for horror and psychological anime
[10:20] promise Neverland wasted no time
[10:21] captivating people with its Mastery of
[10:23] unorthodox horror it's something that
[10:25] many have praised after all it used
[10:27] atmosphere to keep people on the edge of
[10:28] their seats no need for cheap jump
[10:30] scares overly violent scenes or super
[10:33] scary monsters when the Ambient sound
[10:35] and Camera framing are enough to get you
[10:37] on the edge of your seat along with a
[10:38] mystery and characters you can't help
[10:40] but root for promis Neverland is the
[10:42] complete package for a rather Niche
[10:43] genre of
[10:52] shm 2019 however truly belonged to Demon
[10:55] Slayer a number 19th entry
[11:06] did anyone see this one coming when
[11:07] Demon Slayer started airing in April of
[11:09] 2019 I didn't really think too much of
[11:11] it I knew it would be a really fun watch
[11:13] but I didn't expect it to take over the
[11:14] anime world like it did the moment that
[11:17] episode aired then it became the Talk of
[11:19] the Town and easily broke through the
[11:20] so-called Normie barrier Suddenly It's
[11:22] everyone's favorite anime in the anime
[11:24] of the decade I think that's partly
[11:25] warranted however because what Demon
[11:27] Slayer seeks to provide it does with so
[11:29] much competence it gives us a story
[11:31] that's simple to follow but very
[11:32] engaging and it doesn't overstate its
[11:34] welcome with the entire anime adaptation
[11:36] gearing towards the finale in the
[11:38] present the visuals and the fight scenes
[11:40] are where it's at however and those are
[11:41] simply Paradigm changing demon slay
[11:43] helped usher in a new era of spectical
[11:45] spearheaded by Insane effects and
[11:47] animation and I got to tip my hat off to
[11:55] that 18th may come as a surprise to you
[11:58] it's Astra in
[12:06] space space survival drama may not be
[12:08] the genre that people think of when
[12:10] mentioning shown in anime but I'd like
[12:11] to introduce you to this underrated 2019
[12:14] show what Astro Lost in Space does so
[12:16] well is how it draws out the emotions
[12:18] and feelings that you'd associate with
[12:19] the story about drifting from planet to
[12:21] planet in space you'd get to know these
[12:23] main characters well and relate to them
[12:24] as they battle through harsh conditions
[12:26] in their bit to get home the visuals are
[12:28] likewise pretty good and if you're a
[12:29] gamer and fond of sci-fi survival games
[12:31] with a focus on adventure and
[12:32] exploration you'll feel right at home
[12:34] with this
[12:44] anime what isn't Nisha underrated is our
[12:47] 17th anime on the list chainsaw
[12:54] man in a lot of ways chainsaw man
[12:56] epitomizes what I think is the general
[12:58] vibe that the public respon to these
[12:59] days with action anime a dark theme
[13:01] that's not afraid to show the rather
[13:03] deranged side of humanity plus you got
[13:05] the Violet and high octane fights
[13:06] depicted in all of its uncensored Glory
[13:09] chainsaw man is a show that's not afraid
[13:10] to show the Carnage and the degeneracy
[13:12] in his full bore and throw those things
[13:14] aside some undeniably amazing visuals to
[13:16] have one of the biggest hits in recent
[13:18] memory on one hand chainsaw man's hard
[13:20] leaning towards being R-rated and the
[13:22] more uncomfortable aspects for those not
[13:24] well-versed in the fandom means that it
[13:25] will never be as mainstream as things
[13:27] like Demon Slayer but on the other hand
[13:29] it does give a very specific Niche that
[13:30] it can call its
[13:36] own we close in on the halfway mark now
[13:38] with guro no
[13:46] basket a fun game I had a decade ago was
[13:49] asking anime fans for an example of
[13:50] basketball anime the answer whether it
[13:52] be slam Dango guro will easily give away
[13:55] their age on a related note it just
[13:57] shows how much of a landmark guro has
[13:58] been in the World of Sports Anime in the
[14:00] 2010s three seasons multiple movies and
[14:03] Side Stories along with another show
[14:05] that we'll be featuring soon it served
[14:06] as the face of Sports Anime in its era
[14:08] guro is all about the flashiness the
[14:11] Epic anime logic scenes depicted in the
[14:13] basketball games does this make for a
[14:14] realistic show not really but that's not
[14:17] exactly the point when its main goal is
[14:18] to Dazzle fans and get them in awe all
[14:20] the while providing some ample character
[14:22] drama that helps push its already
[14:23] charismatic and lovable group of
[14:25] characters it's an entertaining watch
[14:26] whether you like basketball or not the
[14:28] games are nothing short of thrilling if
[14:30] you can place your expectations
[14:40] right and that's the halfway point of
[14:43] our video you liking this video so far
[14:45] then go hit that like button help the
[14:46] video do well on YouTube we still have a
[14:48] pretty long way to go so make sure to
[14:49] sit tight and enjoy the rest of the ride
[14:51] number 15 we have hi
[14:57] you and here's the other face of Sports
[14:59] Anime in the 2010s if basketball isn't
[15:01] your thing maybe volleyball is and
[15:03] that's what hued here for in a lot of
[15:05] ways the two were compared against each
[15:07] other back in the day and for good
[15:08] reason both are sport shows that aim to
[15:10] provide some similar treats for our
[15:11] Sports loving anime fans both have the
[15:13] shown in Staples in terms of plot and
[15:15] character growth where highq shines
[15:16] though is in its plot with its taking
[15:18] its time in showing the growth of our
[15:20] characters and team it does make for a
[15:21] much more immersive watch if you here
[15:23] for the drama and the development as
[15:24] opposed to the flashier and more
[15:25] thrilling matches that guro provides
[15:27] both Sports Anime are great can be
[15:29] watched as compliments to each other
[15:30] they offer similar things with a
[15:31] slightly different Focus for anime fans
[15:33] out there don't
[15:37] silly we move on from the 2010s and into
[15:40] the 2020s with this number 14 entry
[15:43] summertime
[15:51] render it's the year 2024 season anime
[15:55] fans have experienced plenty of time
[15:57] Loop Centric anime from Ste gate rezo
[16:00] Moka Tokyo Revengers and the like all
[16:02] employ the loop element in their ways
[16:04] not sure how hot of a take this is but
[16:06] summertime render for me did it the best
[16:08] there was an unsettling air on the whole
[16:10] thing from the get-go and fans just
[16:11] can't help but work alongside the
[16:13] characters in helping solve the secret
[16:14] behind the murderers in impending
[16:16] doomsday this kept people's minds
[16:18] turning for the first half of the show
[16:20] then I love how the anime did a genre
[16:21] shift towards battle Shonen in the
[16:23] middle for an exciting finish once the
[16:24] Mysteries have been dealt with it's time
[16:26] for the humans to fight back the battle
[16:27] of wits Incorporated with time Loops as
[16:29] the anime headed towards the home
[16:30] stretch was truly a highlight for
[16:38] me at Lucky 13 is
[16:43] [Music]
[16:52] margi for me in the 2010s margi
[16:54] epitomizes what an adventure anime
[16:56] should be I didn't know that this show
[16:58] which started out being about exploring
[16:59] Dungeons and looking for magic artifacts
[17:01] would end up giving me one of the more
[17:03] complete experiences I could ask for in
[17:05] a show name it's got no shortage of
[17:06] action and interesting Powers what sets
[17:08] it apart from its contemporaries at the
[17:10] time was how it emphasizes its worlds
[17:11] its vast world really let the fans see a
[17:13] varied spectrum of cultures and
[17:15] philosophies and along with the
[17:16] political aspects that are entwined with
[17:18] the spiritual Adventure it was a great
[17:19] anime that I'd readily recommend to
[17:21] anyone at the time even in the present
[17:23] Mari remains a good watch the story is
[17:25] incomplete unfortunately with only
[17:26] lasting two seasons and having read the
[17:28] Manga however I'm glad that we got the
[17:29] best parts of the series
[17:32] [Music]
[17:40] animated 12th on the list is Dr
[17:50] Stone what's happening and if you liked
[17:54] exploring the world aspect of margi
[17:55] you'll be in for a treat with Dr Sto
[17:57] incorporating science a little bit of
[17:59] action and the Wonder exploring a whole
[18:01] wide world for Discovery are the things
[18:03] that epitomize Dr Stone in my opinion
[18:05] there's always something new and
[18:06] interesting for you to uncover in this
[18:07] anime as it takes you through many
[18:09] different Frontiers Dr Stone may not be
[18:11] the most hype or have something so
[18:12] noteworthy in terms of visuals one thing
[18:14] I give it props for is its consistency
[18:16] it keeps you interested while slowly
[18:18] building up to both the end game of the
[18:19] Ark and the overarching Mystery in his
[18:21] story
[18:24] so at number 11 is the king of comedy
[18:27] himself Gintama
[18:32] there's no beating Gintama in the realm
[18:34] of anime comedy so much so that the
[18:36] over- the toop comedy and parody has
[18:37] overshadowed a lot of what makes Gintama
[18:39] great which is its epic tale of ancient
[18:41] Japan Gintama once you move past the
[18:43] comedy has drama that really hits hard
[18:46] especially once you get to understand
[18:47] the main characters more and what
[18:48] they've all been through it also has a
[18:50] whole lot of epic moments that can put
[18:52] some of it shown in contemporaries to
[18:53] shame Gintama had a long run at top the
[18:55] anime world and that's thanks to how it
[18:57] masterfully integrates all of its
[18:59] elements into the complete package
[19:00] you've got the action the drama and
[19:02] comedy and it all results in a winner
[19:04] that's even more than the sum of its
[19:11] parts JoJo kicks off our road to the top
[19:15] [Music]
[19:21] 10 soon on the topic of comedy and
[19:24] overthe toop anime I find it fitting for
[19:26] Jojo to be the next in line when it
[19:27] comes to Jojo and it story story run of
[19:29] so many seasons and parts one thing
[19:31] remains constant throughout it showcases
[19:33] some insane creativity both in its
[19:35] characters and the powers they have
[19:36] there's nothing off limits with Jojo and
[19:38] how Wild it is it's rif with references
[19:40] but in a slightly different flavor than
[19:42] how Gintama does it and it has no
[19:43] restraint in just um how crazy the whole
[19:46] thing is and just like Gintama
[19:48] underneath all the fluff and craziness
[19:50] Li a long and very gripping story that
[19:52] spans Generations sticking with it will
[19:54] be one of the best decisions you've ever
[19:55] made
[19:58] [Music]
[20:04] bleach comes in at number
[20:15] nine bleach will always have a place in
[20:17] my heart for how it helped me push deep
[20:19] into the anime fandom it had this kind
[20:21] of cool stylish Edge that you just don't
[20:23] see that often for Shonen shows back in
[20:25] the 2000s Middle School me thought it
[20:27] was the coolest thing ever due to being
[20:28] a Shen that has more mature characters
[20:30] an overall Vibe that's more serious and
[20:32] an Outlook that's less on the nose with
[20:33] optimism it took several years for me to
[20:36] realize that there's so much to unpack
[20:37] from Bleach once you look past the co
[20:39] fights it's quite strong in terms of
[20:40] themes and every major character has an
[20:42] underlying philosophy behind the way his
[20:44] or her story unfolds having none of that
[20:46] in your face as much as the typical
[20:47] Shonen Fair made me appreciate bleach
[20:49] more As I Grew Older or maybe it's just
[20:51] recenty biased due to how amazing of a
[20:53] return Thousand-Year blood War has been
[20:55] either the way bleacher spent the 2000s
[20:57] rocking the anime world for for a reason
[20:59] and you might love it if you're one of
[21:00] the newer fans introduced to the medium
[21:01] through Jiu-Jitsu Kaizen or Demon
[21:10] Slayer free Ren doesn't look like a show
[21:13] in anime at first glance but it is and
[21:15] it's one of the best ones to come out in
[21:16] the past year
[21:28] if there's one thing that can be free
[21:30] Ren's claim to fame it's how it pushes
[21:32] you to hit that pause button on your
[21:34] hectic daily life stop for a while sit
[21:36] down and reflect on the journey you've
[21:38] had so far it's when you can start
[21:39] noticing the important things often lost
[21:41] in the hustle and bustle of Our Lives or
[21:43] salary men or students free Ren isn't
[21:45] something that can provide screenshots
[21:47] or clips of flashy effects that make
[21:48] Twitter or should I say x go wild nor is
[21:51] it something that makes you rush over to
[21:52] your friends to talk about something so
[21:54] hype what it provides is a very Nuance
[21:56] take on the fantasy genre and for those
[21:58] who prefer such stories then this anime
[21:59] is a godsend add that to the god tier
[22:02] production values in the anime
[22:03] adaptation and it's super easy to see
[22:05] why fre Ren quickly became the Talk of
[22:07] the Town ever since it started airing
[22:08] this kind of relaxed introspective
[22:10] experience lets you reflect upon the
[22:12] beauty of the world and how we live our
[22:14] lives this isn't something you'll get
[22:15] every
[22:16] [Music]
[22:24] day FMA Brotherhood is in seventh place
[22:35] I find it interesting that when I
[22:36] started out watching margi FMA
[22:38] Brotherhood is one of the comparisons
[22:39] I've been given in a lot of ways it's
[22:41] true a lot of what I praise margi for
[22:43] such as the vast world and emphasis on
[22:45] various philosophies and worldviews all
[22:47] apply to FMA Brotherhood but
[22:48] everything's done a bit better in this
[22:50] one and the show really goes all the way
[22:52] with how it Dives deeply into its
[22:54] characters their Dynamics with one
[22:55] another and how their World Views clash
[22:57] and support each other F fate
[22:58] Brotherhood does feel like one of the
[23:00] more mature Shonen out there with how it
[23:01] handles its themes and how it's devoid
[23:03] of fan service all while being grounded
[23:05] or not trying to be too dark or reggy
[23:07] it's one of the best choices to get you
[23:08] started in the anime
[23:15] World in sixth place we have One
[23:23] [Music]
[23:25] Piece One Piece has been around for over
[23:28] two decades already with a run that long
[23:30] you'd expect things to Peet off and just
[23:31] start dragging out against all the odds
[23:33] though the adventurers of the straw hats
[23:35] remain so engaging to watch and that's a
[23:37] testament to how great one piece is
[23:39] specifically its world that allows for
[23:40] infinite possibilities despite looking
[23:42] like you've seen it all one piece
[23:44] continues to surprise you with the
[23:45] twists and turns it takes for each Arc
[23:47] the really cool thing is that one piece
[23:48] has likewise evolved with the times in
[23:50] this era where anime fans are more
[23:52] enthralled with the eye popping
[23:53] animation from EO table shows and the
[23:54] like one piece has likewise upped its
[23:56] game in terms of depicting some of the
[23:58] most most important fights in the recent
[23:59] arcs one piece may not be something
[24:01] you'd reasonably catch up on episode by
[24:03] episode but getting yourself up to speed
[24:05] by watching old highlights seems like a
[24:06] good way to start your journey with this
[24:15] one following that is Naruto at number
[24:23] five there's no denying Naruto is the
[24:27] anime of the 200 if we're talking
[24:29] influence and Legacy it was a cultural
[24:31] phenomenon much like Demon Slayer was as
[24:33] we entered the current decade and I dare
[24:35] say Naruto was even bigger in some
[24:36] aspects a lot of that has to do with how
[24:38] cool and novel the idea of Supernatural
[24:40] battle anime was in those days add to
[24:42] that a frankly endearing cast of
[24:43] characters an Underdog Story That's
[24:45] decently done and long Arc filled with
[24:47] more and more intriguing enemies and
[24:49] powers and you have this phenomenon that
[24:50] swept through the globe in the 2000s to
[24:52] be fair I think that a lot of Naruto has
[24:54] aged well to this day the character
[24:56] writing may be a bit hit or miss looking
[24:57] back but when it comes to the awesome
[24:59] moments the cool or dramatic ones that
[25:01] will really leave a mark in your
[25:02] memories Naruto always hits a home run
[25:04] in
[25:13] those and it's just fitting to have
[25:15] jiujitsu Kaizen come in at number
[25:23] four welcome to the present era in a lot
[25:27] of ways it feels like jiu-jitsu kaen is
[25:28] the culmination of over two decades
[25:30] worth of Supernatural battle series
[25:32] taking some of the awesome parts of each
[25:34] and putting them together to create the
[25:35] perfect product to take over the anime
[25:37] World these days you do need to stand
[25:39] out and it does so with astounding fight
[25:41] scenes all while peppering the newer
[25:43] generation of anime fans with some
[25:45] awesome character work the relationship
[25:47] between Yuji and sukuna is something
[25:49] 2000s kids would have seen before but
[25:50] the way Jiu-Jitsu Kaa made it work still
[25:52] makes it pretty fresh especially to the
[25:54] newer more impressionable generation of
[25:56] fans jiujitsu Kaizen has pretty much all
[25:58] want out of a battle sh end involving
[25:59] the supernatural it also helps that even
[26:01] it can get messy at times and it still
[26:03] doesn't have the level of graphic
[26:04] violence that might tune people out nor
[26:06] does it have the awkward fan service
[26:08] that a lot of the boys anime from the
[26:09] 2000s to the 2010s are full of it truly
[26:11] is an unexpected hit a perfect getaway
[26:14] for those looking into Supernatural
[26:15] battle anime but if all the fightings
[26:17] tied you out number three has none of
[26:20] that after all the Battle of brains
[26:22] reign supreme in Death Note
[26:29] when I first encountered Death Note in
[26:30] the 2000s the whole thing felt
[26:32] revolutionary the whole premise was easy
[26:34] to grasp even for a young middle
[26:36] schooler like me at the time I never
[26:37] thought that anime could be a means of
[26:38] such strong social commentary back then
[26:40] but death note proved me wrong sure
[26:42] there are aspects of the show that can
[26:43] feel juvenile be fitting for its Target
[26:45] demographic but its overall themes about
[26:48] criminal justice and morality still hit
[26:50] hard to this day a really credit Death
[26:51] Note for leading me to enjoy other
[26:53] pieces of media like the Persona games
[26:55] and psychop pars due to their thematic
[26:57] similarities overall I think the Death
[26:58] Note is one of the shows that we should
[27:00] revisit once in a while thanks to how
[27:01] its themes have become even more
[27:03] relevant it truly showcased anime's
[27:05] potential to be socially relevant and
[27:06] that's something that I'll always like
[27:07] about this
[27:13] show my number two pick is Hunter
[27:20] Hunter there are so many things that I
[27:23] can praise about Hunter Hunter whether
[27:25] it be the original version or the 2011
[27:27] one the plant's great and so is the very
[27:29] creative way the characters and Powers
[27:30] were crafted it also showed some great
[27:32] versatility in moving the plot from the
[27:34] hunter exams to the zalic family drama
[27:36] to what many considered to be one of the
[27:38] best anime arcs to this day chimira ants
[27:40] from Adventure to gripping questions
[27:42] about one's purpose Hunter Hunter has no
[27:44] shortage of that Hunter Hunter served as
[27:46] an important pillar of Shonen back in
[27:48] the '90s and it came back to do the same
[27:49] in the 2010s truly a remarkable example
[27:52] of an action adventure series done
[27:55] right are you surprised that attack on
[27:58] Titan finds itself at the very top of
[28:00] the
[28:05] list many people still don't know that
[28:07] attack on Titan is actually a shownin
[28:10] anime it just doesn't look the part
[28:11] especially when put alongside say my
[28:13] hero Academia but that doesn't change
[28:15] how few can lay claim to what Attack on
[28:17] Titan has done when it burst into the
[28:18] scene back in the early 2010s such a
[28:21] phenomenon was unprecedented it broke
[28:23] barriers between season anime fans in
[28:25] the everyday Joe earlier than Demon
[28:27] Slayer did and it showed fans a side of
[28:29] anime that they really didn't expect to
[28:30] see it didn't rely on the usual anime
[28:32] tropes and maintained its darker more
[28:34] grounded atmosphere throwing everyone
[28:36] off guard and grabbing their attention
[28:38] then it used that momentum to Pivot from
[28:40] the gruesome War for Humanity survival
[28:42] to more intricate philosophical aspects
[28:44] leading to the culmination of the series
[28:46] there's a lot to like about Attack on
[28:48] Titan and there's a lot to remember it
[28:49] for if we add in the cultural footprint
[28:51] that it left behind there's no doubt
[28:53] that it's arguably one of the best shown
[28:54] in titles that we've got this Century do
[28:57] you think that attack on Titan deserves
[28:58] it spot on top of this list tell me what
[29:00] you think in the comments section feel
[29:02] free to also throw in some Shonen hits
[29:03] you feel deserve more love thanks for
[29:05] watching and I hope that you had fun
[29:06] counting down those 30 shown and titles
[29:08] with us I look forward to seeing you in
[29:10] the next video
