Chapters
The platform is legitimate, but whether it's worth your time depends on several factors like location and study availability.
Signing up on the website only redirects you to download the app. It's free to join, supports many countries and languages, but the app is essential.
The app mentions finding opportunities on Instagram, but no new posts have been made for months, so it's not a reliable source.
There are often no tests available, especially outside the US, UK, or Canada. The host personally sees very few studies.
After applying and completing a study, it must be approved. Rushed, noisy, or non-verbal submissions are likely to be rejected, meaning no payment.
Typical studies take 15–30 minutes, with some interviews up to 45–60 minutes. Pay ranges from $5 to $100, but higher-paying studies are harder to qualify for.
The referral program requires contacting them for details, which is unusual. The host recommends checking this out before inviting friends.
Payments are via PayPal or bank transfer, with local currency for most countries. Payment can take up to 21 working days after study completion.
UserAdvocate is user-friendly but has some UX issues. It's worth signing up as an extra platform, but not as the sole source of income.
UserAdvocate is a legitimate user testing platform, but its earning potential is limited by location and study availability. It's best used as one of several platforms, not a primary income source.

[00:00] websites? And some of the platforms claim that they will pay you as much as $100 per study. UserAdvocate is one of them. But before you get too excited, there are some important things
[00:15] you need to know about how it works, how much you can realistically earn, and whether it's actually worth your time. And that's exactly what we are going to cover in this video. My name is Mikael and in today's video I'm taking a closer look at User Advocate. And let me just
[00:30] reveal right away that it is legit, but that doesn't automatically mean it's worth your time. And that really depends on a few key factors. So let's go through it all and start by going over who can join. On UserAdvocate's website, you can see here it says that you can get paid $5 to $100
[00:48] per start. We'll talk about the earning potential later there, but there is a sign up button. You just click here. It's free to sign up. You can sign up on the website and you can see the country you can choose here. It's basically all countries here. So, you can join from not all countries but
[01:02] a lot of countries. But one thing you need to keep in mind even though you you can sign up on the website, it has an app. And the only thing you get out of signing up on the website is that it will actually just then take you to a page that tells you to download the app. If you want to do this,
[01:15] you might as well just actually download the app right away and then sign up there. So, to just signing up, you can also see you can actually choose many different languages.
[01:27] So it's not only that you can join from different countries. Also the user interface and all that can be in different languages. But let me now log in and then we'll take a closer look at how it works and how much you can expect to earn and all the important details you need to know.
[01:42] In addition to also having test there, they do say inside the app that you can also find opportunities on their Instagram page. But when you actually check out the Instagram page, there have been no new opportunities for months. So it seems like they haven't really updated the
[01:58] app with this or they're just not using Instagram yet. So just keep that in mind. Even though they say that there are currently as of recording this video, they haven't been posted anything for months. But if you're interested in Instagram that is actually updated every day, then you know you
[02:11] can follow me on Instagram. Also, I have a profile here where I publish uh small tips and tricks and small videos every single day. So you're welcome to follow me there also. That would be awesome to see you there also. I'll leave a link to that below. But anyways, back to user advocate.
[02:26] I am now logged into the app. And as you can see here, I just went to the test here, the homepage and said there are no test right now. And that's one thing you need to be aware of. There will not always be test available. For me personally, I have really not seen any. And that's just how
[02:40] it is for some people with some profiles in some countries. So even though you can join from many countries, it doesn't mean that you're guaranteed to always find different tests you can participate in. So when you then have an test showing up here or get an email or if you find one,
[02:55] if they happen to start publishing or posting them on Instagram again, then you apply and then if you get approved and you complete it, then also keep in mind that they need to approve the study that
[03:07] you participate in. You will see all the details about what you need to do. Um in most cases you need to share your thoughts. So that means when you test an app or website you're told this is your task then you need to record your voice or do different other things. They'll explain exactly
[03:19] what you need to do and then you can decide to participate. Once you participated then they need to approve it again. So don't rush and make sure you actually are thoughtful and doing all the task carefully because if it is rushed or if you are not thoughtful or if you are recording in a
[03:35] noisy environment because they need to be able to actually hear what you're saying or if you don't give any verbal feedback then they will likely not approve your study and that means you will not actually get paid. So keep that in mind that it's not something that you can just rush through.
[03:50] And typically test can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. There are some interviews from what I've been able to see that can take up to 45 to 60 minutes. Usually of course you will get paid more
[04:02] if you are participating in a higher paying study or a longer study. But and on the Instagram from the previous post and also what I can see from what I've tested and seen there then they do pay this anywhere from $5 to $100 per study. But of course the ones at $100 they're
[04:19] usually harder to qualify for. They will take time and effort. So that's of course always how it is. So just because they say up to $100 per study, that doesn't mean every study it says $5 to $100. So there are also some that will pay significantly less. But as mentioned,
[04:33] you can always see that inside the app before you decide whether you want to participate or not and how many tests are available. That depends heavily on your location. There are in general just most opportunities if you live in the US, UK or Canada. While in many other countries
[04:48] there are just not many invitations. It does say inside the app actually that they have this point system and they say they also have paid surveys. I have however not actually seen any of them. So now if you already use this site or if you decide to do it then
[05:04] please let me know what kind of opportunities have you actually seen paid service there and have you been able to get any studies here what kind of studies what did you get paid all that I love to hear from you and your experiences and also your questions so if you have anything to share have
[05:17] any questions just ask in the comments I make sure to reply to every comment and one more way you supposedly can earn also if you scroll down on the home page inside the app you can see it's where you can refer friends but It's a little bit different than most other referral programs.
[05:33] inviting others. But here it just says contact us for details about our ongoing referral program. So that's very unusual. So they don't have any information about what can you actually earn all
[05:46] here. You actually need to contact them. So that's just something to keep in mind that if you want to invite friends, if you really like it, you want to recommend it, then you need to contact them to get information about. you can already just share it, but you don't know if you have to do
[06:02] anything particular or whatever the requirements are what you can earn. So, I definitely recommend that you check that out first. Personally, it's not necessarily I think it's a decent site, but it's not something where I'll use the referral program. So, that's why I haven't actually really
[06:15] looked more into it. I just don't like also when they don't just share the information. You know, it easier. So, I prefer when they do that. But, let's now talk about also how you can get paid.
[06:28] Whenever you join an online earning platform, it's extremely important to know first of all how can you get paid so you are sure that you can get paid with a method that you actually have and prefer. And in the FAQ section on the website, you can see that you can get paid by PayPal or
[06:43] bank transfer. So two good payout options in my opinion. And they transfer in the local currency to bank accounts in most countries. But just keep in mind here that they also say that you can expect to be paid within 21 working days after completing a user study or research.
[06:59] And then after that you will receive an email with a form where you need to potentially share some payment details. So it does take quite a bit of patience and be aware that it says 21 working days. So that does not mean including weekend. So it can be you know more than four weeks you
[07:15] have to wait from your actually participating in a study until you can get paid. So that's just something you need to keep in mind when you decide whether this is for you or not. So to sum it up, I think User Advocate is an interesting user testing platform. It pays decently if you are lucky enough
[07:30] to get the studies and that's a big thing. In some countries there will just not be a lot of studies. I think it's it's fairly userfriendly. There are some things there where they say you can find this but then you can't find it. You can find it at Instagram then you can't find it there.
[07:43] And for a website that works with usability, there are some optimizations there that could be made in my personal opinion. But I would say that it can be worth signing up for as one of the user test if you really like participating user test. You shouldn't expect to get a many test. Again,
[07:58] that depends on your country. Personally, I really have seen very very few where I'm located. But I would say because it does have some interesting opportunities once in a while, then why not sign up as an extra one? But definitely not rely on this one as the only one in my opinion. In general
[08:13] with user tests, it can be hard to qualify. There are not that many. But if you sign up for many platforms, you will get more opportunities or more frequent opportunities. So that's why I recommend when it comes to user testing to just sign up for quite a few. And I do have a list of my top
[08:26] recommended user testing platforms on my website. So I'll leave a link there so then you can go and get some inspiration there. And if you're just interested in combining with other side hustles, I also do have a list of more than 23 different types of online side hustles you can do. So,
