[00:01] This is many a true nerd and welcome back to Fallout 3: The Worst Wanderer. Well, last time we made our way here to the Rivet City Market filled with all sorts of exciting sexy shops. Though, there is one small problem with that,

[00:18] which is I've basically not really got any money. There's only so much you could do in a market when you've not got any money. So, right, that's going to be what I turn my attention to at first today. We're going to sort out our money

[00:34] problems once and for all because sure, I can make a bit of money by just heading out into the world and looting and selling and whatnot, but yes, that's really not that much money in the grand scheme of things. Meanwhile, use Steve's

[00:49] life is a somewhat expensive one because I do need to basically pay to do all of I do need to basically pay to do all of my repairing. So, what we need is a much bigger cash injection. And I know precisely where I could get such a thing

[01:04] because yes, just over the river there's a library. And bloody hell is that a good destination. But okay, let's kick off by going to the citadel, which we tagged on the way past previously, cuz yeah, this puts us on the right side of

[01:20] the river and only just around the corner from the library. And even better, yeah, this location is very safe because while there are super mutants nearby, the Brotherhood will deal with them for me. So yeah, this location is

[01:35] them for me. So yeah, this location is sure to be very bloody safe. And speak of the devil, right, there's some mutants, but yes, the Brotherhood with a high ground advantage and whatnot will very easily take those guys apart.

[01:48] Though we may as well, you know, help a little bit just to speed things up. And there we go. to completely pointless XP. Beautiful. So, just head out over the Beautiful. So, just head out over the Citadel compound, turn right, deal with,

[02:03] Citadel compound, turn right, deal with, yes, any surviving monstrosities or whatnot. You're almost dead, my friend. So, just aim slightly up and done. But So, just aim slightly up and done. But yeah, this is my destination right here.

[02:18] yeah, this is my destination right here. A flipping massive library. Now, there is some stuff I wouldn't mind grabbing before we even head inside. And also, keep your head down. There are talent company mercs just around the corner.

[02:33] But yeah, my first target is one of those lovely little shelters. There's definitely one of those somewhere out here. There we go. Just around the corner. So, yeah, make sure we grab you on the way past my friend though.

[02:51] Are you booby trapped? You might be. Just in case. Always step back like, you know, crack one of these open. But yeah, I get some right there.

[03:04] Guns and bullets together with a 10 mm pistol and some ammunition. And okay, don't just shut yourself out from the ammunition. There we go. The ammunition is a sag. And speaking of which, yes. Make sure you read skill books the

[03:18] moment you get them because let's just say in a library there's going to be a lot of bloody books, regular books and skill books. And both of them are really bloody useful because yes, I'm not the only person inside this library.

[03:34] >> Hold it. This area is under the authority of the Brotherhood of Steel. Leave immediately. >> Don't you worry, Scribe Yelling. Me and you are going to be best of flipping friends. The collected knowledge of a

[03:47] lost age is worth far more than any weapon. So return here with any books that you find in good condition. I will compensate you for every volume that you bring me. Think on it and return when you have books to offer me.

[04:02] >> So dare we flipping go. She's willing to pay 100 cookie caps per pre-war book. Not the damaged ones, just the ones marked as not damaged. I've got like loads of those on me right flipping now because yeah, we were recently in

[04:18] Minefield and Minefield is swimming in a well preserved box. So if I should now offer her all the books I've got immediately. >> Very well. Here is your reward. Use it well and return with more books when you

[04:32] >> 800 cocking caps for just eight books. And those just the books I had on me right cocking now. Damn it. Back in Megaton in

[04:44] my house over on the left here. Well, one, let's just uh drop off some more bobbleheads because Oh, yeah. That collection starting to look very, very nice, actually. But yes, I've been collecting pre-world books here as well.

[04:59] Only seven, unfortunately. I swear I had more at one point. But loaded them into the rocket launcher in a panic and then fired them at enemies

[05:12] then either lost track of them or yes ignored them long enough they despawn. So that's kind of unfortunate. But you know what? It's still basically fine know what? It's still basically fine because one that's another 700 caps for

[05:25] me for yeah those seven more books. >> Those just the ones I already had. These guys are in a library in order to collect the books. So, uh, naturally, there's a lot of books available in here, too. Not just a pre-world books

[05:40] either, I'm pretty sure. Yeah. If we just go upstairs immediately, slip into these side rooms here. Well, one, there's lots of, yes, old, broken down, destroyed books or whatnot. So, that's just, yeah, free ammunition for this old

[05:56] girl. Beautiful. But on top of that, if you dig into all the side rooms and you dig into all the side rooms and whatnot, yeah, skill book. So, one big book of signs upstairs in the lobby. If I can get all of them. Yeah, there's a

[06:10] flipping five skill books in this entire facility together with like 10 or so pre-wall books. So, another bloody thousand caps. Oh, and stealth boys, too, because why the [ __ ] Yes, this place is an absolute treasure trove when

[06:26] it comes to loot tang. and better and better. It's not even too difficult to loot because yeah, up front we've just got some basic rad roaches and whatnot.

[06:38] So, the good old ripper can deal with them and no problem whatsoever. Oh, and speaking of which, right, I've run into problem number two. A handful of raiders. There's a pre-war book, by the way. Everybody loves pre-war books.

[06:52] But yeah, so we can just uh grab a grenade. I see a couple of people standing very nearby to each other over there. So, just give me one second, there. So, just give me one second, guys. Yeah, toss a grenade in that

[07:04] direction. Beautiful. That should be close enough to Oh, yeah. I think you kill one. Badly damage another. Yep, you're dead. Spot on. There a couple more over there, too. You're in good shape. But yeah, these are basic

[07:18] raiders, so one wellplaced grenade should be able to deal with you. Put that over to you, my friend. That's you dead. And the Brotherhood take out the others because yes, in this area you've got reinforcements. The Brotherhood are

[07:33] just mosing around taking out the raiders, too. So, yeah, the locals are not that much trouble, and the stuff you get for taking them out is very, very bloody good. Speaking of which, there's another pre-war book. Yeah, I'm going to

[07:48] miss at least one of these, by the way, because yes, we are very much looking for needles in a hay stack right now. Pre-war books in piles of also pre-war books, though. Right, that's the third one in this

[08:01] in this area. Actually, I'm not sure there's any more. So, okay, that was bloody lucky. Still, before we go any further, make sure Yeah, we read the big book of science. Grab some whiskey because why not? And Jack, make sure we

[08:16] turn in the books we've already found to the scribe at the front door so we're not carrying around that weight going forwards. And yes, given them a bit wounded, just drink some nucaca, too. But yes, beyond what we've seen so far,

[08:29] there's another two areas in this library, too. Technically, both of them are tied to quests we're not actually doing right now, but screw it. We'll need them sooner or later. And I may as well just load up the yes useless books

[08:42] we don't need into the rocket launcher because right now I think yes this is my most powerful weapon excluding obviously massive explosive overkill like the fat man using a nuke launcher inside is not a good idea as general rule you're just

[08:57] ceiling or something and then instantly die. So, okay, step by step here. Step by step, let's kick off with, yeah, the children's wing, cuz this has got a lot of good stuff in it. On the downside, there are raiders. But on the plus side,

[09:13] we've got reinforcements once again. Reinforcements, in fact, with cocky mini guns on them. So, you know, I will help if I can just to make sure these guys stay alive. Help me take out all the other raiders and whatnot. So,

[09:28] do watch out for traps, by the way. Some of these rooms are definitely booby traps, and I can't 100% remember which ones or indeed how many raiders there could just deal with that by themselves, to be honest. So, okay. A definite

[09:44] contributor to dealing with you. You're running towards Yes, the mini gunner person. So, uh, yeah, the local raiders are not really that much of a problem in a world where, yeah, we could just, uh, rely on my Brotherhood friends, and I

[09:57] don't really need to be racing them for XP because I don't need XP. I'm literally never going to level up. So, honestly, yeah, that makes these guys way more useful in a world where I don't actually have to be, you know, competing

[10:09] for experience or whatnot. Okay, I think the locals now dead. Thank you very much, Brotherhood of Steel. So, yeah, loot the corpses on top of that. Yeah. Now we can actually get down to the important business of book looting.

[10:25] Hang on a sec. That was definitely the trap room I just heard. Yes. A flipping thing dropping there. Walked over a trip wire, didn't I? I'm very bad at seeing the trip wires. But sometimes I do hear them. Okay. So really, when you think

[10:39] that's fine. Though speaking of which, do watch out for explosives because they can knock items, you know, literally out of the universe on occasion. Like, yeah, this terminal was trapped and it went off. There definitely was a book here.

[10:52] Though, luckily on this occasion, it seems to have landed. Yeah, over here. So, we've still got it together with There we go. Some sheet music, which is than the alternative places. We might have to grab that later. So, yeah,

[11:09] definitely be grabbing that on the way past, too. So, that's one pre-war book right there. I'm pretty sure. Hang on. This feels I'm pretty sure. Hang on. This feels more like a raider corpse room, so

[11:23] probably not so significant, but I'm pretty sure in the cafe just around the corner. There we go. There's one a pre-war book There we go. There's one a pre-war book and also one skill book, too. Lovely.

[11:36] Speech, by the way, is yes. It's a skill I'm particularly interested in because due to how speech works in this game where it's a function of not just your speech skill, but also your charisma score and factoring in that speech is

[11:50] one of those skills the game is relatively generous of boosting with the same being true for charisma. Actually, yes, before we're done here, there might be some opportunities for level one use of Steve to actually pull off some

[12:04] surprisingly difficult speech checks. Now, for the time being, and that's pretty much all we could do inside, yeah, this section, because what you're supposed to do is go through the other sublevel in this library, the media

[12:17] you get up to the top of the children's section and thus access the upper levels where all the good stuff is. 100% you could do that. Alternatively though, the

[12:30] the amount of, you know, random trash and whatnot it gives you inside this and whatnot it gives you inside this area. And of particular note, it's not just oil drums. It's also flipping planks of warts. And planks of wood are

[12:46] very, very important because one, you can pick them up and move them, but two, they've got proper collision detection on them, meaning there is absolutely on them, meaning there is absolutely nothing stopping you from building ramps

[12:59] you've never looked into this, by the way, Fallout 3's game engine is remarkably generous about how steep a slope you're allowed to climb. So, you think a human wouldn't be able to just walk up this slope? But no, 100% you

[13:16] can. Basically, any slope whatsoever that you create out of planks of wood, everywhere in so many areas of this game, you can use them to make steep ramps that you can then just walk up. There are quite a few areas of the game

[13:32] where you can just break the intent of progression by doing precisely this. and other smaller items. Meanwhile, make it excellent mini stamps like children's pram. They are also physical objects that can be picked up and moved around.

[13:48] And I really wish I could tell you that, you know, the best solution was to come up with an incredibly elegant pyramid or whatnot. But no, the best solution is in fact to take all of these items, put them into a big pile, and they're

[14:02] basically just to smoosh your face against them. Because at some point, Bethesda physics will just go bananas, and you'll be catapulted upwards, other you're not really supposed to be moving into. Now, tragically, on this occasion,

[14:17] this room I've just put so much effort into getting into doesn't actually have anything in it aside from one safe that I can't open because, yes, there are two holes in a row. And as a result of that, I can't actually get up to the second

[14:30] level because I'd need to like, you know, reach down here, grab some of this stuff, pull it up, do the same trick all over again, which would be very tricky. But then of course we've got option number two, which is if you can't get to

[14:44] items, what if you've just got items to come to you? This isn't a sophisticated literally just going to toss grenades up there and see what comes down cuz I know there are definitely some box like somewhere over there. And I swear

[15:00] something just flew past me for a second there. Oh yeah, hang on. Hang on. We definitely just saw a flipping pre-war book. Mly up there, I'm pretty sure. In fact, I think I could see one right flipping

[15:15] there. But yes, that's the power of explosives. You can potentially you cuz pretty much everything in this game interacts with explosives. It's not

[15:27] means you get blasted out of the world or whatnot, but still it's a good thing to know. How about we just do this like you know the regular sensible way? That wanted to like you know show off how you can mess with physics in this game for a

[15:41] can mess with physics in this game for a minute. Anyway, back the way we came to the central room and yeah on the other side we could get into the major archives which are a little bit bigger than yeah the children's wing or at

[15:54] least the bit of it we've seen so far. It also features a lovely little track upstairs. You got to make your way past your various traps at first. Though, luckily, once again, the Brotherhood will just do most of the work for you.

[16:09] Though, yes, it might be worth going ahead and dealing with the mines before these idiots walk into them and whatnot because of the Brotherhood who was already upstairs or whatnot. So, you guys just

[16:24] take care of this. I think you can very happily deal with all of this nonsense. Also, I just walked into a grenade trap, didn't I? junk. I thought I saw grenades falling, but no. No, it wasn't. It was just like

[16:37] a bit of giblet from a dead flipping champion. And there we go. These guys just clear out all of this nonsense for me. Yes. Basically, you don't really the world. The Brotherhood will just do

[16:50] it all for you, which is delightful. Speaking of which, make sure we grab prewar books on the way past. That is kind of why we're here and whatnot. Though, tragically, they won't do everything. They'll secure the first few

[17:04] floors here, but they won't go up to the very top floor. But that's fine cuz yeah, if things get a bit hairy, you can just retreat back downstairs and the enemy will follow you into the brotherhood. Though, honestly, I could

[17:16] probably deal with, you know, some basic raiders by myself. That's fine. But yes, side room with a pool table will get me one more skill. bulk of Bart on this occasion. And finally on the very top floor, yeah, a few raiders. I can't just

[17:31] get someone else to deal with. So, I've picked up some more grenades and whatnot. That would probably work pretty nicely. Yeah, cuz I see you over there. So, how about we just put some grenades over your barricade, buddy? And pretty

[17:47] grenades and it just kind of landed right next to me. But yeah, if you guys just want to be over here, that is fine. And we can just explode you and nice and come around the corner, hit him with the rocket launcher one by one, cuz I'm

[18:03] pretty sure you've got a flamer. But at point blank range, yeah, I can just Never mind, John. Don't forget how low your cocking health is. Okay, you know your cocking health is. Okay, you know what? Plan B. I've got mines. And if I

[18:17] grenade and whatnot, they have to come back this way to pursue me then. Yeah, basically we just let them walk into mines and mines and more flipping mines.

[18:31] mines and mines and more flipping mines. Perfect. So, all those in play, one grenade over the top. Beautiful. And then, yeah, basically we just Oh, that'll do. It's a very good start. Then we just retreat over here and let them

[18:45] make their way over to me. So yeah, back over to rocket launcher. And now we just explode them one by one. And I think we've got like one survivor who's got Oh

[18:58] we've got like one survivor who's got Oh dear, a basic Chinese pistol. You're dead now. Excellent. That was a critical strike. So Oh yeah, you must have been a slightly higher level given. Yes, there was definitely more XP being awarded

[19:11] there. Anyway, that's yeah, the top of this area taken care of. So, yeah, I can No, I definitely can't crack open that safe. Amazing. But yes, I'm moderately

[19:23] confident if we just mosy around here for a second. Oh, hang on. There's definitely a pre-war book. I think it was supposed to be somewhere more obvious, but um yes, that's the downside of tossing grenades around. Sometimes it

[19:36] you could get them and sometimes it blasts objects that are already where you could get them to where you can't or indeed through the floor and out of the universe. Still, we do also get Yeah. copy of Tumblr today and some drugs,

[19:50] copy of Tumblr today and some drugs, too. So, just do both of them. Yes. This is where possibly my previous idiotic activities come to bite me in the ass. Because if we just jam mosey around the corner at this point and then go through

[20:06] this door that takes me to the top of the children's wing which I previously grenaded. So yeah, for example, there's shotgun ammo that's supposed to be over

[20:18] there. So right, there's guns and bullets. There's a pre-war book. There's your other pre-war book. I didn't screw myself over at all. Spot on. But yeah, with seven pre-war books in hand and three from that very first room, that

[20:35] should be literally everything. So, right, I think we've got a complete haul from this facility. So, straight back to scribe yielding here. And yeah, that scribe yielding here. And yeah, that should get me another 700 caps.

[20:50] Beautiful. Now, I know what you're thinking. John, what are you going to spend all this money on? You see this here? This is where things get clever because I'm not going to spend it on anything. I'm going to cocking invest

[21:05] it. So, having stepped back outside for a second, yeah, I now want to make my way to Canterbury Common. And yeah, I think it's somewhere about here or so.

[21:17] So yeah, that relay tower next to the Grizzly Diner, that'll be a good jumping off point. So head over there. It'll probably be dawn by the time we arrive. Spot on. And yeah, we should just need to head south from here. And I know.

[21:33] Okay, that was weird. For some reason, I just started looking really intently at the ground. I'm just going to assume that you Steve saw a blade of grass he thought was particularly interesting and decided to look at it. Okay, as I was

[21:46] saying, we just head south. And I'm pretty sure that farm over there, Yap, that should be between me and Canterbury Common. Yeah, this farm's actually kind of interesting because, as you may have noticed as we get closer to it, this

[22:01] farm is not a marked location on the map. It's one of this game's many unmarked locations. Now, ordinarily, unmarked locations aren't particularly, you know, interesting. They're just a small individual shacks, etc., etc.

[22:15] But yes, for some reason, this tiny unmarked location has got a really bloody large amount of lore built into it. So yes, before we get to that, and before I forget, in fact, yes, the outhouse over here is a source of

[22:30] beautiful another copy of guns and bullets. But yes, if we just mosy into this farmer house, down on the ground here, there's a functional terminal which contains a slightly ridiculous number of entries from a very large

[22:44] number of people who used to live here. There's no crazy conspiracy or anything here. It's basically just Jess, a story of a group of people and how they built this farm up once upon a time setting up power, deciding how they were going to

[22:56] run things, etc., etc. The fun twist being yes, they appear to have set up some sort of a communal situation where everybody gets to be the boss for one month at a time to keep things fair. But some people just didn't want to be boss.

[23:10] They were happy just you know following orders. Right up to the last entry where yes unfortunately some people were spotted and nearby spotted and nearby and beyond that yes there's nothing. Now

[23:23] the house is in ruins and there's a few skeletons dusted about. So yes, basically everyone just seemed to die, which is a very standard Fallout story, occasion, they decided to turn it with a cast of seven or so people who you will

[23:37] never meet because they're all cocky dads. Still, one last thing before we go, which is Yeah, just down the hill from that outhouse, there's a little pool of water, very radioactive, cuz yes, there's literally some toxic waste

[23:50] yes, there's literally some toxic waste barrels in it or whatnot, but it's also very much worth a visiting. Excuse me, sir. You just die. Thank you. Because yes, we've got one person here. Should I do some Radex? Is that even worth it?

[24:04] I'm swimming in Radex. Why not? Yes, one person here that could give me a bobby person here that could give me a bobby pin, etc., etc., but also

[24:18] book here. Possible the skill book is like fallen. Oh, bloody hell. I can't properly see under the water. I appreciate I'm being irdiated. There's definitely supposed to be a

[24:31] skill book here. And also, okay, I know I just killed your friend, but seriously, stop hats. Gosh darn it on this occasion. Yes, I think possibly. Oh, hang on. It was right in front of me the entire time. Also, guys, seriously,

[24:46] that's never mind. I ran out of junk. Okay, over to like, you know, a shotgun or a rifle or something. Please stop firing like, you know, gross maggots at me. And I know what you're thinking. John, what incredibly cunning, unique,

[25:00] interesting way are you planning to solve the superhuman gambit on this occasion? And okay, so funny old thing. I just deal with a couple of mole rats I just deal with a couple of mole rats who've decided to appear up here today.

[25:14] Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. Okay. Sometimes Optum's razor is just a razor that you stab people with. Because you see, all this town wants really is for, yes, the local superhero and super villain to stop

[25:29] fighting in the middle of town cuz it's causing a mess for the local traders. Technically, while you can't like, you know, sides with one, sides with the other for various rewards, etc., etc., I don't really need the rewards. I

[25:42] definitely don't need the XP. What I wouldn't mind is money. And funny enough, the local traders are actually quite appreciative in the event you take a more, you know, direct approach to solving this problem. So, having made my

[25:56] solving this problem. So, having made my way up to the high ground here, I can way up to the high ground here, I can see a battle ant. Lovely. Yeah, the high it's not the best angle to approach from. Right, just loop down here.

[26:11] That'll be fine. All I need really is yes, someone standing vaguely nearby to, you know, some sort of Oh, that would do. Yes, ants are nice and low to the

[26:23] do. Yes, ants are nice and low to the ground. And it looks to me Hang on. Hang on. Yes, the antagonizer standing pretty close to a wall. So, just to be sure, let's do a dose of psycho. So, I'm like, you know, pulling the trigger extra

[26:36] hard. So, we're up to like 900 damage at this point, right? Get nice and up close close, but like, you know, a little bit close. And as soon as they start like, you know, chatting or whatnot. There we go.

[26:51] know, chatting or whatnot. There we go. This should be about right. There we go. You've definitely taken some You [ __ ] survived that, right? Hang on. Hang on. We've definitely killed one of them. The mechanist is dead. Does anyone know

[27:04] did the antagonizer go? Cuz we've yeah, I could just have the costumes immediately. Excuse me. Does anybody know where There's fried dance everywhere, right? The antagonizing got

[27:19] away, but that kind of doesn't matter. You wouldn't believe how much trouble We've been looking for someone to get rid of them for a long time. But you just walked in, downed one, and drove off the other. Easy as you please.

[27:33] That'll be the last we see of them. You can be sure of that. I'm, mayor of Canterbury Commons. Think of me as your own uncle Row and take this as our thanks for cleaning up the town.

[27:45] And there we go. 400 caps. I'm pretty sure. Yeah, if you do this mission properly, it's only like 200. So yeah, I just made more money than I would have made by just nuking everyone. Speaking of which, Uncle Row, having sorted out

[27:58] your local problem by cocking and nuking it, you're the reason I actually came here. So yeah, just dig into the local economy and whatnot and start asking about the traders. >> They're just small caravans that make

[28:13] rounds through the wastess, hawking their wares from Paradise Falls to Rivet City. They won't trade with anyone who's hit their friends, but that's about as organized as they get. >> And my friend, what if we were to

[28:25] organize them a bit better? I had thought about it, but some of these wasteland traders, well, they aren't exactly the organizational type. It make it worth their while to work together. Frankly, I'm not sure even I'm

[28:40] up to the task. Hilariously, yes, there's various ways to get him to agree like the master trader perk or just seducing him with Black Widow or whatnot. But no, if you've got a big enough pile of money on you, you could

[28:54] just say, "Hey, what if I go and just spread some money around?" >> That that certainly is quite a lot of caps. It really would be a shame for those to go to waste, wouldn't it? I suppose I can call in a few favors with

[29:09] the caravans, talk with them about their inventory. Must keep the customers what you'd like to see from the caravans, and I'll let them know what to focus on. Basically, Uncle Rose immediately spotted I'm sitting on a

[29:23] giant pile of money that he could potentially get out of me. So, as a result of that, yes, what I want to be talking about is miscellaneous goats. That'd be crazy Wolf Gang. He does repairs and general supplies, but he

[29:39] prefers to call himself a junk dealer. As he says, he's overjoyed to assist As he says, he's overjoyed to assist those who have a deep need for his junk. people's attention. >> So, okay. What you want to do is invest

[29:55] in this guy. And investing in caravans basically makes them better. They'll with them more efficiently. And also, they'll carry a wider variety of bits and pieces. But this is a very expensive process. I won't be able to do it for

[30:08] all of them even with all this money I've got. But yeah, Crazy Wolf Gang is the one I want to prioritize because he's the one who specializes more than he's the one who specializes more than anybody else in repairs. If I do this,

[30:21] he becomes basically the best repair person in the entire base game. So yeah, step one, get him to offer a wider variety of junk >> with an investment of about 200 caps. I'm sure he could improve the quality of

[30:35] his materials or at least offer more of them. add. All right, let's flipping do it. >> Excellent. I'll see to it right away. >> But all right, I think he should offer even more junk than that.

[30:50] >> At this point, it would require another pack brahman to carry his wares. But for 500 caps, I think he could offer more. >> And go on, good sir. Let's make it >> Isn't it though? I'll inform Wolf Gang

[31:04] >> Basically, yes. I think I'm just being, you know, conned by Uncle Ro here, which is delightful. And unfortunately, despite the option being present, you cannot expand his wares any further. Two investments is all you get.

[31:16] >> At the moment, Wolf Gang's practically carrying an entire junkyard with him. with the traveling part of being a traveling salesman. though we could of course invest equally in all the other traders. But yes, Wolf

[31:32] Gang's the one I'm most interested in because okay, let's take a moment to talk about how the repair skill actually works cuz a lot of people probably don't works cuz a lot of people probably don't really know this. Basically, anyone can

[31:45] repair anything up to 40% condition. That's for free. The remaining 60% between a 41% condition and 100% condition, that's what your repair skills for. So basically, every point of repair skill represents 0.6% of an

[32:01] item's possible maximum condition. So on this occasion, yeah, 40% is for free. Then he's got 17 repair skill. So 17 * 0.6 is about 10. So he can repair up to 50%. And speaking of which, you know, while I've got a relatively low quality

[32:17] repair person here, I'll repair flipping a three dog's head because I don't need that to be maxed out condition. Yeah, just 200 caps before 50% is fine. Right, step the next. And no one's actually available. Yeah, outside town right now.

[32:33] So, I've got to go and find my new best friend, Wolf Gang. Given I've already been to Yeah. most of the societies in Fallout 3, that shouldn't be too difficult to do. Basically, you know, just try the various towns. He'll be at

[32:48] one of them. There we go. who took an entire day off just, you know, checking out all the various towns and whatnot. But my new best friend, Wolf Gang, is right here outside Canterbury Tom the following day. And me and him have now

[33:04] got a lot of stuff to talk about. I hear you're the one who's so deeply invested in my junk. Not as deeply as me, of course, but who is really. I picked up some stealth boys the other day, and they seemed like just the way to thank

[33:18] you for your investment. Kudos. >> So, number one, Crazy Wolf Gang gives you a thank you for investing into his caravan. Jack, his thank you is the best one of all of them. He gives you [ __ ] gig stealth boys. But more importantly,

[33:34] gig stealth boys. But more importantly, he's now got a repair skill of 75. Now, yeah, I think this is now basically as good as it gets in the base game. 75 is really really bloody good cuz that gets his repair ability up to 85%

[33:52] condition. And just as a reminder, I'm sure he must have mentioned this uh earlier in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, weapon condition matters as much Vegas, weapon condition matters as much as weapon skill. Having zero skill, but

[34:06] 100 condition in a weapon versus, well, 1% condition, I suppose, cuz at zero it 1% condition, I suppose, cuz at zero it would break. and a 100 skill that would yield the same result in terms of damage. So yeah, being able to invest

[34:20] money into your equipment in a Fallout 3, that is huge. Plus, it's also going to add a lot to my DR. So yeah, cheap equipment like say the blast master helmet, that's just basically plus one DR for almost nothing. And the rocket

[34:36] launcher I think is yes, a very important one to get done right now. And I tell you what, for only 85 caps, I'll take the ripper up to tiptop shape as well. And the recon armor can get up to a ridiculous amount of DR, plus cooking

[34:50] seven for just 100 caps. So, oh yeah, that's worth investing in. The one I'm surprised by is actually the railway rifle, and get that to 16 damage or so, which is honestly less than I was expecting. I really thought that was

[35:05] going to be a bigger number. I mean, I'm doing it anyway cuz, you know, that's And yeah, the railway rifle is just too hilarious not to use. We'll leave the we might be able to get a better version of that in the not too distant future.

[35:20] The combat shotgun, though, for 200 caps. Yeah, take that up to tiptop shape caps. Yeah, take that up to tiptop shape as well. The Fat Man, however, honestly, that might be overkill beyond Oh, screw it. I'm doing it anyway,

[35:32] obviously. A yeah, I'll put a little bit of money into the reser rifle as well because that's my sneak attack crit weapon in so far as I have one at all. So, okay. A lot of my gear just got ridiculously good. 29 damage on the

[35:48] combat shotgun, 29 on the rocket launcher, 16 on ripper, 216. Yeah, these are good numbers. And the armor is looking bloody good as well.

[36:01] Still, I would saving successfully saved Canterbury common by nuking all its problems. Ah, how about we call it a P there? But next time, okay, I want to

[36:13] give some of this brand new improved weaponry a bit of a more challenging run out. And given at this point I've now got some somewhat decent weapons, possibly my next priority should be finding a way to actually hit people

[36:27] with them, increasing my chance to hit invat and whatnot. So, okay. I've got something very particular in mind for next episode. So, hopefully you join me for that. But in the meantime, I've been John. This has been many a true nerds.

[36:42] And this has been a Fallout 3, the worst wanderer. Thank you very much, and goodbye. If we just hide the bodies, nobody needs If we just hide the bodies, nobody needs to know about this. Yes, my stupid plan

[36:57] has worked. It turns out I'm a genius. The giant rad scorpion is not gone. Oh, though. I'm still being very shocked, guys. Where's the NCR?
