This video is a trailer for Helldivers 2, announcing the 'Battle for the Gateway Planet' update. It introduces new SEAF squad roles, a new rank cap, and new enemy types from the Illuminati faction, along with combat tips for facing them.
SEAF forces can now deploy anywhere in the galactic war, fighting alongside Helldivers. They have been updated with new defined squad roles.
Four new SEAF roles are introduced: Squad Leader (gives tactical orders), Rifleman (uses the Liberator), Specialist (heavy support with machine gun and expendable anti-tank launcher), and Medic (uses Defender SMG, stim pistols, and stim injectors).
On planets with the heaviest SEAF presence, squads are sent in Pelicans to support. They push towards objectives and counter enemy incursions. Players can hug every SEAF.
The rank cap is increased to 300. Veteran divers who were capped at 150 will have a new rank attributed based on experience gained while capped.
The Illuminati have created new abominations: the Wretch and the Crusher. The Wretch is made of limbs; aim for limbs, not the head. The Crusher regenerates if you stop attacking it.
Keep shooting and moving; don't stay in one place. Enemies either soak up damage or need to be broken down. Standing still attracts enemies.
The trailer sets up a major battle, introducing new allied squad roles, a higher rank cap, and formidable new enemies, emphasizing dynamic combat and teamwork.
