04:24[00:00] Hey everyone, in this video I wanted to show you how you could effectively use your Instagram hashtag to get more followers. And I've been using this for the past year or so and I've been able to grow my Instagram following by another 5,000 followers in one of my pages, mainly because I've been really
[00:16] focused on using hashtags the best way possible. So a couple ways to go about it is first, you've got to find the perfect hashtags. Second, you've got to use as many hashtags as you can per post. So in this case, at this time, Instagram lets you do 30 hashtags per post.
[00:32] So I try to do 25 to 30 hashtags every time I post, but I put my hashtags in the comment section so it doesn't look really spammy on my actual post. So let me go ahead and show you how I find the best possible hashtags for my niche,
[00:48] and then I'll show you a really quick shortcut how you can post hashtags without typing it out every time you go on Instagram to make a new post. So let me jump into the phone here to show you how to do it. So my first resource is this website, top-hashtags.com.
[01:03] This website lets me look at the most popular hashtags for my niche. So if I'm looking for motivation or if I'm looking to talk about filmmaking, I could search for it here. So let me show you how I do that. So when I go on the website, I could just go and search.
[01:18] I'm on the mobile. You could use this on the desktop too. But if I type in motivation, for example, I could either search top and it will show me the top hashtags for that keyword.
[01:30] So in this case, hashtag motivation, hashtag fitness motivation, and it shows me how many people are using it. So these are some of the top hashtags that I want to use. But I don want the most popular hashtag to be my only hashtag because it going to be really hard to rank for these hashtags So the goal is to make yourself searchable with these hashtags but also rank on the top nine of Instagram for that hashtag
[01:53] That's when you could really go viral if you do that for a big hashtag. So I look for some hashtags that are not as popular, so some that have around 200,000 or 300,000, and then I do some top hashtags like Motivation Monday in this case,
[02:06] 7 million, that's a large count. So another way to do it is I come here and I type in motivation again, and I'll search all instead of search top. So when I search all, if I scroll down here past ads,
[02:20] it'll give me some examples of like the top 30 hashtags. If I click this one here, I could just basically press copy here, and it copies those 30 hashtags for me. So between using hashtags individually or copying this whole batch,
[02:34] the next thing is I want to go to a notepad and typing these hashtags for different keywords that I have. So if I have a keyword on motivation and that's the page on motivational quotes, for example, is one of my pages.
[02:46] Or if I have a filmmaking page, I'll break those up into different sections. So let me jump into notes so I can show you how to do that. So open up any notes application on your phone. And as you can see here, I got a hashtag set for motivation.
[02:59] I got a hashtag set for some filmmaking things that I do here. and what I did was I went on that website top hashtags and I individually started putting those hashtags right here so then I don't have to do this every time I post so now I have a batch I
[03:14] could just copy and paste it so in this case I want to do a motivation post so I could come here and I could select this batch and I could copy it so now when I go to my Instagram to do a post
[03:26] I have it all ready to go but I going to show you a better shortcut that I could use on my iPhone to make this even easier than coming to notes I never actually come back to notes because I set up a shortcut to do this for me So let me jump into Instagram and show you how I do this now
[03:42] So on Instagram, let me just do a post here. So let's say I wanted to post this quote. And now I'm going to press next on this quote. I'm just going to put a filter on it, press next. I'm going to write a caption.
[03:56] So now it's time for hashtags. So I'm going to press okay. but I don't put my hashtags in the caption. I put the hashtags in the comment. It just looks a lot cleaner and has the exact same effect. So in this case, I could go and share this and I'll jump into
[04:11] my post now and I'll just go ahead and I'll put a comment here, paste, and those were the comments I took from notes and I could just post that and now I have those hashtags onto my post. So now let
[04:24] me show you the shortcut I was talking about. What I want to do is go to settings. I'm doing this on the iPhone you go to settings and then you go to general and then you go to keyboard and then under keyboard you go to text replacement and here I could basically create a shortcut that
[04:43] lets me put all my hashtags with that shortcut very quickly so let me show you how that's done here I just have to press the plus sign so the phrase is what I just copied from notes so I'm just going to go ahead and paste that and then for shortcut I want to just call this something so I'll
[05:00] call it insta2 I already have insta1 you could call it whatever you want this is the shortcut that you're going to use to basically put all those hashtags with just the shortcut so you don't have to type each one out you don't have to copy paste just press save and now let me jump
[05:15] into Instagram so now if I just made another post if I just type in insta2 now it pulls the hashtag for me so now if I just press space it changes that shortcut into the entire hashtag that I had copied over so all those hashtags go
[05:31] quickly onto my post again I'm not going to put it in caption I'm not actually going to post this I'll put it in the comment section of that post so using this process you could create insta1
[05:43] insta2 insta3 and so on you could create multiple shortcodes for hashtags that you put in your your notes copy it from your notes put it in your keyboard as those shortcuts and every time you come to Instagram and you create a comment you could just type in InstaOne and it'll put it
[05:58] right there you don't have to go back and forth if you don't have this in your phone it's okay you could just create that notes app and then just go on there I used to do that all the time before I learned how to do this and it was it was just a little bit longer of a process but all I did was
[06:13] go to option one. It's the one hashtag, copy them over, and I'll put it onto my Instagram post just like I showed you the very first time I posted it. So this is a really great way to grow your Instagram.
[06:25] Just put in a little bit effort. Put in, let's say, a half hour and find those hashtags, create the top 30, create multiple options, and put it in notes, and you never have to do it again. You have the best hashtags for that topic.
[06:38] You could always tweak some. You could always add new hashtags and remove other ones. Remember the limit right now is 30 hashtags per post, but they may change this in the future too. So make sure you use as many hashtags as possible.
[06:50] Put it in your comments to keep it really nice and neat. And make sure you post consistently and hashtag as much as you can. I hope this video was helpful and helps you grow your Instagram account.
