Download .txt[00:00] Hi! I'm Hazel, it's Saturday today which makes it time to sit down and catch up on what's going on in WoW. This week the last handful of Felcycle secret orbs were discovered, which means that the
[00:13] entire Felcycle secret is now available to complete. The Seeker Finding Discord did fantastic work figuring this out, WoWhead has it all written up into a guide that I will link in the description, and the end of the secret rewards the fanatic
[00:26] Felcyclist Mog which looks like this. The earlier steps of this secret earned the Felcycle mount and now there's a cool outfit to match. As is tradition for many of the secret finding puzzles, these are pretty intense, they're
[00:41] pretty in depth, and some of them require quite large groups. The Radiant Singer event for the 11th orb requires a full coordinated 40 man raid group to solve and there is an addon available to help simplify the puzzle.
[00:55] I don't think I'm personally going to do this. The manga's cool, I've kind of washed out of the secrets a little bit. I think it's a neat component of the game, but one of the nice things about super optional content like this is that if you don't feel like it you can just opt out of it.
[01:08] Other things going on, it's now April, which means we have a brand new month of trading post, and the April trading post went pretty hard. This is one of the first months in memory where I have spent more tender than I've earned. Standout items this month include the new vicious snap vine mount, looks like this, giving
[01:24] echoes of Mario Brothers, to be honest. Also not to be underrated, the Arboreal Pseudo-Shell Mount. It is a ground mount, so you won't have as many opportunities to use it, but it's still gorgeous. And there is also a grumpy Mandrake pet, which apparently screams.
[01:44] And Pepe's Vacation Home is a birdhouse offhand that I feel like you gotta have a look at, too. Even Pepe is getting housing this expansion. Depending on where you live, you may or may not be enjoying actual spring-like weather this April, so at least with the Trading Post stuff you can put some gardening-y things
[01:59] on in WoW, even if it's not time for you to plant your actual garden yet. In competitive content this week the March on Quel raid finally released We have all the raid content now My group cleared normal and we didn even see we cleared it so fast that we didn even see the
[02:14] final phase on the Midnight Falls boss, Lura. It's a neat raid. I'm looking forward to seeing it in a little bit more depth, either in heroic or maybe if I like pug a group or something so I can see phase three. I've been really enjoying raiding this tier. We are currently progressing
[02:28] on heroic Alleria. It's that fine balance of not wanting it to be over too soon, but also not wanting to get stuck on any one given boss and take a really long time. It felt like our group geared up very fast this season. Almost everybody got four set this week with how Catalyst charges
[02:43] work now. So it's been a fun raid tier, but it's definitely something that I don't think is going to take you very long if your goal is just to kind of clear through the raid a few times. Maybe that means it's time to start thinking of some alts to do it all again in a different class. I do feel
[02:56] like with alts it feels like it takes way longer to level a character from 80 to 90 than it does to gear it. My hunter alt that I had is feeling just about done. I was kind of looking at her gear and
[03:08] she's in full champion. She's got a couple of hero track pieces. She hasn't set foot in a dungeon or raid. It's all from prey and delves and that's after what one week? One vault? Two vault? One vault?
[03:20] Anyways it felt very fast. I think I might start a fury warrior. I think I might level a fury warrior and gear that up if I can get her leveled. Some people will like this style of season where it's pretty easy to get a character geared and play it and then just kind of like chips just keep
[03:34] grabbing new alts and trying it with different classes and then some people might feel like they're done really fast. I do think that finishing the content pretty fast opens you up to have some downtime between patches if there were other things that you wanted to work on like zone
[03:48] achievements or housing or pvp or what have you. I've also been doing quite a few delves this week. I think that's where most of my gear has come from. And I found out today, actually, that delves are faster, at least for me, when I'm healing
[04:02] and Valera's doing damage than the reverse. I kind of figured that she would suck at damage because it felt like she did in the first week but maybe she got hotfixed or maybe things just kind of evened out as she gained levels and abilities and like better Kyrios Because now if I ask Valir to DPS and I heal her she smokes through things way faster than I do when I doing the damage Maybe
[04:23] that just speaks to how bad I am at Shadow Priest, but like I was doing tier 11 delves and I was timing how long it took me to do them playing Holy versus Shadow and Holy was substantially faster, like four minutes faster in like a 15 minute delve kind of thing. So if you play a class that has
[04:40] hybrid specs. If you play a class that has like a healing spec or a tank spec available and you do a lot of delves, it might be worth just for science and fun to try it as the non-DPS spec if you have one. Valera might just truck you right through that thing.
[04:54] And then the race to world first has been going on this week. I've been keeping medium tabs on it. It seems like Void Spire fell over fairly quickly and then, you know, Blizzard sort of panicked and like super buffed Midnight Falls so that some part of the race would take an appreciable amount
[05:08] of time. And now Mythic Lura looks crazy. I've seen some discussion over whether or not the add-ons that the Race to World First guilds are using are reminiscent of the pre-add-on Purge era.
[05:23] I think some people are feeling that they were made to give up their add-ons so that Blizzard could de-arm the add-on race, and then they're watching World First raiders use add-ons that feel way stronger than anything that we normal players have now, I guess. I think that's where some of
[05:37] the discussion's coming from. I have no personal plans to raid Mythic so I don't connect with this discussion super personally. I don't really have a take one side or the other. I have been enjoying raiding with less add-ons in general.
[05:49] I haven't even been using DBM for heroic. And the only thing I feel like that's a little funky is still Dispel Frames for Healers. Everything else I feel like I can see all the information just fine. At least for heroic.
[06:01] My hope is that Blizzard kind of continues to figure out what sort of UI elements people like cannot live without for things like this and then continue to improve the blizzard version of them. I'd love to see like much more improvement to nameplates, more improvement to raid frames,
[06:17] especially for healing. And then they just have to find the sweet spot I guess between having challenging mechanics and not having not requiring Addams to overcome them I feel like it a bit of a tough spot right now because Race to World First raiders are so good that in order to have them not just kill things immediately
[06:38] you either have to put, I guess, gear checks that are insurpassable, which is a little bit not fun, or you have to make things so insanely difficult that, of course, people are going to want any possible information advantage that they can get to try to make it happen first.
[06:53] It's just kind of a strange situation that doesn't apply to most people playing the game, but for the specific case of the race to world first. Blizzard's kind of between a rock and a hard place. Either it's too easy and it falls over, or it's too hard, and it either can't die, or
[07:08] people end up using crazy custom-made add-ons for it. I don't know. It gets the people talking, that's for sure. And then in my life this week, I moved around a few fish. I've been setting up and working on my aquariums and I just set up a betta fish in my office tank.
[07:25] Maybe you can see her back there. She's in the bottom front right hand corner. I'll put some slightly clearer footage so you can meet her. She's a female betta. I've never kept one before. Her name is Lettuce. She's got a little 10 gallon situation back there that I hope will get prettier as I,
[07:41] you know, as the plants grow and also as I figure out where I want to put them. I kind of just threw stuff in there for now, but I was so excited to have a new fishy. She's the most active and curious betta fish that I've ever kept in my life. I've never had a lady before.
[07:53] Maybe they're all like this. She's been so much fun to have in my office. I was raiding and I would do a fight and then we would wipe and I would like spin my chair just to kind of watch the fish and then I'd realize I'm supposed to be rezzing people. And that's been the week.
[08:05] Thank you very much for watching. If you'd like to stop by and say hi, I'm live on Twitch five days a week, Wednesdays through Sundays, 9 through noon Pacific. Appreciate the company and I appreciate you guys and I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful
[08:18] full day. Bye!
