Lanterns Ep 7 Trailer Breakdown — Full Breakdown & Transcript

[00:00] Welcome to the Headdy Spoilers Show, I'm your host Paul, and in this video we're breaking down legends. The Episode 7 trailer is now here, and in this video we're going to be breaking it all down.

[00:16] Also, I did get asked why I didn't break down the mid-season trailer, but I actually saw Episode 6 on the morning that the trailer released, so I felt a bit disingenuous during a breakdown if I'd already seen the episode. I know that it did show stuff beyond what we've just seen, but a lot of it was that episode.

[00:32] So I did think that, yeah, I just didn't want to touch it in case HBO rang up like, we've just seen you watch this episode, Paul, what are you doing these series for? There's actually some shots in that that didn't appear in the last episode, and do kind of lay the groundwork for what could be going on here.

[00:47] But as always, we're going to play the preview first, and then break down the trailer itself. [01:25] I think you're being very annoying.

[01:37] Well, I think being murdered allows for a little paranoia. Okay, so the short but sweet teaser lasts for just 43 seconds, but it seems to highlight a lot of things about what's coming.

[01:51] It's clearly heavily focused on Hal's murder. What's in the box? What's in the box? and also some stuff with Sinestro. I think the episode's going to break down what's happening with two men haunted by their fathers, the fear, and the fear that's consuming others.

[02:04] The episode itself arrives on September 27th, and according to the wiki, the title is The Jordan Boys Legacy. This gives me the feeling that we going to see a young Hal Jordan who we know has already been cast I believe that shots of him were shown in the mid trailer as the baseball boy and we might get a flashback to his childhood much in the same way we explored things with John I think that we will also meet Hal dad

[02:26] as well in this, and see how his death affected him, while also diving into things with John's own father. That scene right from the off in the teaser, and the opening of the storm with John floating in a boat. You might also notice that there's things surrounding it, and these look

[02:39] like bobbing apples. This obviously ties back to John's favourite pastime with his parents, and we hear John's dad's voice echoing through the air. He says, Hey Junior, and Are you afraid, soldier? Now this isn't something throwaway, and it shows how John's dad's training still echoes

[02:54] through his core even in 2026. Hearing John Sr's voice tied with a thumbnail also immediately frames episode 7 as something that will tie not only in with the Jordans, but also with Stewart. Now, where the hell is this place, mate? Where the hell is it? Well, I do wonder if this

[03:10] is a world in which fear has overtaken everything. In the mid-season trailer, we saw John and the Hologram walking in a yellow wilderness, with yellow being the colour of fear. There was a destroyed city above them, alien skulls on the floor, and it could be that this place has become

[03:24] infected with fear. This might even be where Anton came from, and they could be retracing the steps of the Manhunters, and I think that this is where they could hold Sinestro as he was shown tied up in the mid-season preview. We then see John looking shocked and then cut to someone

[03:39] sitting with him on the boat. If you zoom in and look very closely, you can see that this is his father sat there with an apple on his head. Obviously, we know Stuart Senior is in Comfort Cove, so this is clearly hallucination. And I just think the area is one of those

[03:51] nightmare places that pulls on your worst fears. You know the ones, mate? You go there every night. After getting to the tunnel, we then get the hologram asking, so who killed me? And Kerry answers by saying, could have been anyone, and the whole town hates, hated

[04:05] you, hated him, hated Hal Jordan. We see some shots of this in the mid-season look as well, with his house being set on fire. There were also some moments with the town's locals giving him a side eye, so everyone's a potential suspect. We then cut to a truck driving in

[04:19] Rushville, which passes the water tower that was destroyed earlier in the series. John and Hal and go to the box room which was the big mystery in episode 6. With the hologram they can now open it up though and get whatever inside To them clearly also going to another world I think this will likely be a pocket dimension This could then lead them to the Fiat Planet Jon will likely head out on that boat and I think we see the

[04:41] lighthouse in the distance, which is what he's sailing towards. We have seen in the mid-season trailer as well that Sinestro's kept out lots of big tower, so it does make sense that this would be the thing that everyone's heading towards. Next we'll explore this place

[04:53] in the episode preview, and there's lots of Star Wars vibes as well. There seems to be either a container or something that goes below the surface, which has a lid open on it and something glowing inside of it. Now, because of this glow and it being similar to yellow,

[05:07] I do wonder if this is where Sinestro is being camped out at. We initially see the hologram walking behind John as well, but then someone in the cloak appears and he smashes him like the like button. If you slow this down and watch the clip really, really closely as well,

[05:20] you can see that this is old Sinestro under the hood. So yeah, I just think it ties in the mid-season stuff and John clearly catches him and then ties him up. We then end with a hologram saying that he thinks being murdered allows for a little paranoia.

[05:32] Now, I know there's a theory going around that Hal has been cloned, which is due to some Spanish subtitles saying there's a clone in one of the shots. It was like, the word was there, like his dialogue, and it was attributed to like, clone of Hal Jordan.

[05:45] But I don't know. I don't know if cloning is, if we're a bit too late in the game to introduce that. And instead, I think the shots we've seen of Hal captured are probably taking place before he was murdered. But look, that could happen. It would be stupid if they gave it away in the sub-tunnels, but it's one of those theories that I think is too big now not to address.

[06:03] Anyway, I think what's likely going to happen in this episode, based off the clips, is that John's going to get the hologram and then try and take him to the box. He'll probably want to give Kerry some closure first, though, and thus take him to the sheriff so she can say her goodbyes. After that, I think they'll probably then go to the box, where they open it up and discover a way to travel to this nightmare world.

[06:20] This is where we could get that yellow scene from the mid-season trailer, and then they could head out on the boat. John will then confront his past, and I think that throughout this, it could be where we get flashes of Hal as a kid. I think the trailer is pretty sparse in those details,

[06:33] but I can imagine that will be a big thing in the episode too. I think it'll probably end with them arriving at the island where Sinestro's hiding at it, and this is when we'll have a confrontation between the past, more idealistic Hal and his mentor. Now, there are also theories that Parallax could be about in this episode,

[06:48] and I think this alternate world would be the perfect place to introduce the villain in the DCU The storm in the environment could be something that it manifests at Especially because it was like a storm in the movie Was it?

[07:00] I don't know. I always get confused between that and the Fantastic Four movie where Galactus was also a storm. It was like a dude with a beard. Yes, it was a storm with a beard. Look mate, I'm not going back and watching that movie.

[07:12] And I love Martin Campbell as well. But I am quite curious to see what Sinestro's up to. I also wonder if they're going to do something where he's trying to bring back power. Anyway, I imagine this is the episode we'll get the baseball clip of Hal and potentially his dad's female,

[07:25] which we know from the leaks is going to happen in the series. But yeah, those are my theories based off just this teaser and what was shown in the mid-season stuff. If they drop another, like, end of episode season trailer, I don't know. They said it was the mid-season.

[07:38] I was like, mate, right, like, episode five. Now, that's not half of eight, mate. But yeah, if they do something like that, I will try and cover it unless I've seen the episode. um again because yeah just i would feel weird being like well here's what i think might happen
