"Delivers on the promise of a beta first look with genuine reactions and detailed gameplay, though it's padded with stream chat interactions."

AI Summary

The video is a live stream of a World of Warcraft Classic: 20th Anniversary Edition beta, where the streamer plays a gnome mage, explores new features, and shares his impressions. He discusses the new UI, graphics, and various gameplay changes, comparing them to the original Classic and retail versions.

[00:14]
First Impressions and Setup

The streamer enters the beta, turns off add-ons from the previous beta, and notes the game feels good. He has questing turned off to play as a 'true classic gamer'.

[01:36]
Animation and Visuals

He compares the new gnome cast animations to the original, noting they look slightly different but don't bother him. He later praises the landscape and water visuals as 'insane'.

[02:54]
New 'Poor' Copper Vein

He discovers a new 'poor' copper vein in the starting zone, speculating it's to prevent bots from farming, and questions if it's new or a misremembering.

[05:32]
UI Changes and Add-ons

He discusses the new UI, noting the unit frames are the biggest issue. He mentions the new slash who interface with a listing/find group feature and later installs an add-on called 'Better Blitz Frames' to fix the unit frames.

[07:06]
Scroll of Decipher and New Items

He finds a 'Scroll of Decipher' that increases comprehension skill, and later a scroll that allows self-polymorph. He also finds a 'Rat Familiar' item that increases intellect, joking it's a 'Mitch Jones item'.

[09:24]
Campfire Buffs and Crafting

He explains the new campfire mechanic: sitting near a campfire grants a buff and allows crafting without moving, promoting social interaction. He also notes a 'Loadstone' that provides attack power to nearby players.

[15:22]
Explaining WoW Forever

He explains that WoW Forever (Classic+) adds new content to Classic WoW without ruining it, avoiding flying mounts, level cap increases, and complex rotations. The world expands horizontally, not vertically.

[17:47]
Content Longevity and Leveling

He discusses that the game will have new raids every ~6 months, and leveling an alt takes months, unlike retail's days. This provides long-term engagement.

[25:46]
Water Sound and Visuals

He tests the new water visuals and sounds, praising the visuals but disliking the sound, calling it 'Roblox-like'. He notes it's an easy fix.

[28:10]
HD vs Classic Models

He compares the classic and HD (retail) character models, preferring the classic ones and noting the HD models 'still suck'. He appreciates the toggle to turn them off.

[30:47]
UI Poll Results

He shares a poll he ran: ~40% like the new UI, ~40% hate it, and ~20% don't care. He emphasizes the importance of fair, constructive feedback over spam.

[35:16]
Reals System from Season of Discovery

He confirms that the 'Reals' currency system from Season of Discovery will be in the game, allowing players to earn currency from old dungeons/raids to buy gear, trade goods, or cosmetics.

[36:21]
Hardcore and OnlyFangs Plans

He discusses plans for a hardcore server, suggesting OnlyFangs 3 will start when hardcore drops, ideally during a content lull between patches.

[38:56]
No Ranked PvP Plans

He shares that Blizzard has no plans for ranked PvP (arena rating, M+ score). They want ranking (titles) but no rating, which he personally disagrees with.

[40:25]
Self-Found Leveling Idea

He's considering a self-found playthrough at launch, turning off trading (except selling on AH at market price) to play authentically, as he did in Season of Discovery.

[42:51]
Professions UI and Utility

He praises the new professions UI for its utility, having all professions in one accessible tab, despite disliking the visual style.

The streamer is overwhelmingly positive about the Classic 20th Anniversary Edition beta, calling it 'legendary' and 'mind-blowing'. While he has minor complaints (UI, water sound), he believes Blizzard 'crushed it' and delivered what the community wanted.

40:25

[00:00] Oh my gosh, please, flicker. No!

[00:14] Form? Yes! Yes! Guys, I told you. I told you I was feeling good. That's me. Oh my gosh, there's a lot of little gnomes out here. And a lot of dwarves.

[00:27] There's a gnome of a gnome. The person in the bottom of the game is crazy. That's me. I'm gonna answer the challenge right now. Oh my gosh. Details has been blocked from the only available add-ons

[00:41] Okay, okay Goodness gracious So I have add-ons from the last beta maybe? Oh I do. I have add-ons from the last beta. I'll turn them all off for now I'll probably download other ones later. Maybe this is like the same as the last beta. Okay guys we're in.

[00:58] So we have to get eight pieces of tough wolf meat. And guys, I have questing turned off because I'm a true classic gamer. So I have to know, like I actually have to read the quest. It doesn't tell me where to go unless you turn on track quest.

[01:11] Is that cool or what? Oh my gosh, bro. Oh my gosh. Oh, wolves. Oh my God. I just got layered. Nice. This is way better. I'm going to pop Eureka here on this timber wolf and send it hard.

[01:24] I got a miss, but it's not a big deal because this next one's going to go dumb. Okay. Guys, this actually just feels so good. Oh, yeah, actually, before we...

[01:36] Okay, so I want to look at how the gnome cast and stuff, because a lot of people were saying they messed up the animations, which I think they're right. But... I want to see if I can even tell without doing a side-by-side.

[01:52] Okay, it does look a little different, I must admit, but it's pretty close. It does look a little different, though. I must say, it does look slightly different. I swear it doesn't bother me, though. Like, it actually doesn't bother me.

[02:04] How is your server not lagging? The streamer realm, from my perspective, seems to be fine. Oh, this is a new quest. You get a six-plot bag if you go to the northwest and recover Toshwin's mechanics log and kill the Snow Leopard Prowler.

[02:16] That's definitely new. Sick, okay. Let's turn in this over here and vendor everything. Wait, can I use Eureka to cast Water with less mana? Oh, no, it's only damaging abilities.

[02:28] Never mind. All right, I'm going to test this swing timer real quick. No! Why did you say that, man? You just said that, man.

[02:40] You just said that you're impressed. Oh. Can you run up this way? Oh, I think you can. Oh, dude, there's a new quality of copper vein.

[02:54] Poor copper vein. What the heck? Do you guys see this? That's rad. It's like, in the starting zone, they didn't want actual copper veins for bots or something. So they have a new one called poor. Wait, no.

[03:06] Am I tripping? Is that always in there? No, that's gotta be new, right? Am I tripping? Now I'm like, is that always in there? No, they definitely weren't in the starting zone. Now I'm gonna, like, keep, uh... What's the thing where you, like, misremember the past?

[03:19] The mandala effect? I feel like that's going to keep happening over and over. I'm like, wait a minute. Is this how this is supposed to be or not? Like, I'm going to keep, like, misremembering everything, I think. Wait, this is actually just, like, so much more fun than when I played previously.

[03:34] I'm trying to figure out why, though. Because it's not real. Like, we're going to go... Because you could say, well, it's just like you're actually playing. Maybe it's because I'm at my own setup. Like, when I played at Blizzard HQ, when you played at BlizzCon, it's just so janky because I'm using another computer.

[03:47] Maybe it's because it's my own computer. It's my own setup. I swear, like, everything that feels like how it's supposed to is, like, okay, nice. It looks very easy, though. I mean, yeah, like, so Classic Law is not supposed to be, like, this crazy, complicated game.

[03:59] It's supposed to be, like, chill and relax. That's, like, the whole point of this. You know what I mean? Like, the whole point of this is, like, okay, retail went in a direction that is, like, really sweaty and really difficult and, like, crazy complex.

[04:11] Let's get back to, like, simple gameplay in a much smaller world. Oh, my gosh, guys. I just love it, man. we're going to be living in Azeroth again, guys. Level 6. We're going to be living in a small, simple world

[04:24] with simplicity forever. I hope they don't screw this up. I really hope. Sounds bad for the UI, though. Yeah, I agree. My big thing is the UI. Kind of annoying, but I'll just download and add on,

[04:36] so I can get past it. I'm actually liking the UI. I think that Blizzard's master plan, right? Like, oh, let's just use the modern UI to get people used to it, and it's what we'll use going forward. and then like when people hop on retail for a new expansion it's gonna be familiar or whatever so

[04:51] like maybe i don't know maybe people will like it more than i think but i i definitely don't oh yeah there's a whole profession ui now so instead of professions being under your spell book this is a profession button say button again button my wife says i say button weird but like

[05:08] i'm literally just saying b-u-p-t-o-n button they're not gonna have a classic ui toggle no I wish, but it doesn't look like it. I swear the biggest thing is the unit frames. The rest doesn't...

[05:20] The mini-map doesn't bother me all too much, and the action bars I don't even care about. I swear it's the unit frames. It's literally just this. I mean, the rest is kind of there, too, but the unit frames are the big ones. Type slash who?

[05:32] They changed the layout. Oh, wow. Oh, when you type slash who, there's an owl. Ha! Woo-hoo! Nice. And then when you type slash who, it prompts you to make a listing or to find a group. So that's really nice, too.

[05:46] The new Slash 2 actually forms. Is it everything you hoped for? To be honest, no, in some ways, but it surpassed my expectations in others. I would say the graphics, like, the visuals,

[05:59] like, the landscape look way better than I thought they were going to. This is awesome. Like, they just look, like, it, guys, it just looks so good. Like, look at Ironforge. Like, look at the mountain, bro. Like, it's just so beautiful.

[06:13] Um, the UI is my one big complaint, but like, yeah, overall, like, it's different than I thought, but better in most ways. Worse with the UI, but yeah.

[06:28] Oh, okay, okay, okay, okay. We got this thing, a scroll, just like in Season of Discovery, and I have a thing that says decipher scroll. Let's see what it does. Dude, wolf, I swear.

[06:41] Bro! Alright, I was getting attacked. We got interrupted. Another wolf. Aw, crap.

[06:53] Guards! Nice.

[07:06] Oh, we got another skull. We got two skulls now. I'll turn it down here. I don't even know what this is. Gold? Is it a gold making thing? Increases your comprehension skill. Yeah, but what's it do?

[07:20] Okay, nice now I can do it better, but what's it actually do?

[07:33] Nice Blizzard, thanks! Okay, it poly'd myself. Cool. Nice, that's what mazes got, if you're curious. Yep, no, not deep freeze, not arcane barrage, we can sheep ourselves. Oh, I got another scroll.

[07:50] Come on, what is it, what is it, what is it, what is it, what is it, what is it? Okay, Blizzard, ha ha ha. Let me see what it actually is.

[08:05] Very funny. Very funny. Okay, GMs out there, yeah, very funny. Very funny. So, mages, maybe can't AoE grind anymore,

[08:17] but maybe we can, like, comprehend scrolls or something to make extra gold. I mean, as long as I make more gold than any other classic, as a mage, I'm fine with that. You know what I mean? As long as I can passively have infinite gold

[08:29] with either AoE grinding, scroll comprehension, like, I don't want to actually just have to farm. like everyone else. Like, that's my big thing as a mage. Part of my, like, desired class fantasy is that I don't have to worry about gold. You know what I mean?

[08:42] Kind of how it's always been. You guys all on the same page? Oh, this guy's trying to duel me up. Or I'm trying to duel him up, and he accepted.

[08:54] Eureka. Let's go crazy here. Fire Locked. Cash for All Sun. Stone Skin. Whatever. Whatever. Go crazy on Fireball. He probably has another shot coming up soon.

[09:09] Woo! That was close, Oli. Close! Dude, it's weird that you summon over an ally. What the heck? Or a lot of trainer, demon trainer, must have been this campfire here. Slash sit near the campfire to gain the buff.

[09:24] After one minute spent sitting near the campfire, you may also craft using trade skills as long as you do not move. Sick. So basically you'll get a buff by sitting at a campfire, but you can also do things

[09:38] like crafting to promote players like slowing down and talking to each other. Since you're gonna be crafting anyway, you might as well get like a free buff. I actually think that's really cool. Test it please. I mean, I'm a miner, so I can only smelt and I don't have

[09:56] a forge, so I don't think that would work. Black silk, pretty cool. Um, hey, how is it going? I'm sitting here for 15 seconds anyway, so might as well. Huh. Okay. Nice. It's going

[10:21] good, my friend is having trouble logging in. Servers were rough this AM, sitting there for like three hours. Okay, guys, I'm getting word that Blizzard might stop by the stream and drop off a bunch of beta key accesses to you guys.

[10:38] Some beta keys. Do you guys want some beta keys in the chat? They're going to just drop them in the chat. I think that's what I'm told. I don't know. You got to gain the following camp benefits. You receive a small amount of rest experience.

[10:50] You can only receive a suspect every hour. That's so cool. I was actually a little iffy on camping. Like, that's actually rad. I like that a lot. Camping 101 mining. Loadstone. A rex? A...

[11:02] Whoa. A rex, a loadstone that allows you and others sitting nearby to gain 12 increased attack power, exclusive with bluffing a mite. Whoa. Cool.

[11:15] Wait, did Blizzard drop these off? I don't even know. No, there's not. Guys, there's not. The people are randomly typing keys in the chat. We're going to be in a minute. Guys, don't get baited by random people typing stuff in the chat. Like, I can say stuff. It doesn't mean it's actually true.

[11:28] Guys it going to be from the official at Warcraft channel over on Twitch And they going to drop some keys in here in a minute That what I know Guys the game feels good I was a little worried that the game would not feel good but it feeling good

[11:41] I was a little worried the game might feel like retail, but it is not feeling that way. Check here, D-Buff. Recently bought that at camp. Oh, someone says mount writing is 95 gold now. That's actually really good. That means the mount itself is only 5.

[11:54] Which means if you buy a store mount, you're only getting 5 gold. Dude, there's so many, like, little new things. Like, little Windigo Shaman in here. I have a new Scroll of the Decipher. I have, like, a new buff. It almost feels like we're playing, like, Classic Plus.

[12:09] Oh, crap. Guys, you don't have to type an exclamation point key. They're just going to come over and drop the keys when they're ready. He's always about to steal all the keys for himself. I actually didn't know we were going to get a bunch of keys to give away.

[12:21] So I just actually bought it myself and I'm giving you guys the giveaway. So that's how it's working. I don't know. What's this?

[12:34] Rat familiar. Someone's a faithful rat. Familiar for one hour. Its presence increases your int. Bro, they added a Mitch Jones item? Are you kidding me? Guys, Mitch has an item in the game.

[12:48] Your familiar increases your int by two. Bro! They literally added him in! There's a rat that follows you around and you get intellect.

[13:00] Is that a mage thing? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wow. That's crazy. I wasn't expecting that.

[13:12] Do the new graphics look whimsical to you? Okay, I'm not going to lie. They look pretty darn good, okay? Dude, Eureka is amazing. The mana cost alone is amazing. I really like Eureka, dude. So I wonder what setting does the fog.

[13:26] What do you guys think it is? Shadow particle? Maybe it's particle. What's the cooldown on your reset? Two minutes. It's still very strong. It feels very, very strong. Literally half mana on three spells is just like,

[13:39] crap. Isn't it spell damage too? Yeah, 10% more damage, but like half mana too is just like crazy good. Imbue a dagger with magic, causing it to occasionally chill foes when hit.

[13:51] Oh, bro, that's sick. scroll of infuse chill knife? Are you kidding me? Oh, that is so cool. That reminds me of, like, Oblivion. Go in for a little slow. Are you getting the collector

[14:03] physical edition by chance? Apparently it's sold out, so. I must be, like, really trying to stream the benefit of this thing. It's GG's butt. It is what it is. 40 quest logs? Bro. Oh my gosh. Alright, guys, I'm legit just in heaven right now.

[14:18] Like, imagine playing this and you can just go raid with your friends and you don't have to get world buffs. You can just play the game and there's just so much more accessibility. But it's still classic WoW.

[14:30] Like, ugh. Any way to hide a helmet close without enabling transmog? Yes. I think you can do that. I think you do it through the transmog option, but it's still... You can still do it. How to enable quest locations?

[14:43] You can just enable quest locations in the settings. I think if I want to show them, I can go... Oh, crap. Quest objectives off. Quest objectives on.

[14:56] Quest difficulty color off. On. Quest levels off. On. So if I want to know where to go, I just click this. If I want to turn... Is that questy on? Questy off. Questy on. Questy off.

[15:08] Literally one click. Dude, turn bloom on? I have it off. I don't like bloom. Still the retail UI? Yeah, we'll need an add-on for that one. Can you change the color of the taskbar? No. No footprints on the snow? There are, but they're very light.

[15:22] You can definitely see them. Yeah, they seem very light. For someone who's completely unaware of what WoW Forever is, could you explain it to us? Classic WoW is a version of World of Warcraft

[15:34] that millions of people fell in love with. And over time, it started getting updates. And those updates were really fun and cool, but it also kind of destroyed the game that people fell in love with.

[15:47] For example, at some point, WoW introduced flying, and WoW introduced increased level cap, and WoW introduced a much, much, much larger world. So in, like, 2016, 2017, Blizzard was like, okay, crap, let's go back and just play some Classic WoW again.

[16:03] And people were thrilled. People were very happy. People were so happy. Like, okay, let's play Classic WoW. But at some point, people were like, okay, Classic WoW's great, but there's no updates ever. and now we're bored.

[16:15] Even though this is really great, we're just kind of bored because it's been the same game for so many years in a row. Classic Forever is adding in content to Classic WoW without doing the things

[16:27] that ruin the game, like flying mounts, like vertical progression making things crazy strong, like increasing level caps. We're always going to be level 60 cap.

[16:39] We're always going to be kind of like in Azeroth, smaller world. The rotations of the classes aren't ever going to get crazy complex. It's not about crazy mechanical prowess or anything like that.

[16:54] It's about the world and enjoying it and chilling. So it's the things that we know and love in World of Warcraft Classic well, but there is going to be things like new raids, new content updates, new quests.

[17:06] So the world is going to expand horizontally over time, but we're not just going to get stronger and stronger. we're not going to get flying, we're not going to just leave Azur out to a whole new planet, stuff like that. So, that's what WoW Forever is. Have you felt any difference yet?

[17:20] I mean, yeah, the game definitely does feel like a little different than Classic WoW, but not as much as I was thinking. I think the main thing that's throwing me off is the UI, but it's actually not throwing me off, like, as much as I thought. I think if the UI was Classic WoW, I literally wouldn't know the difference.

[17:35] Like, it feels very similar. Actually, the mana takes in the UI. The mana takes and the UI are probably the two biggest things that I noticed.

[17:47] Is there enough content-wise for three weeks? Yeah, like, so, like, obviously you're kind of kidding, but the thing about World of Warcraft is, like, no matter what expansion you're playing,

[18:00] the game does die after a while, right? Like, once you hit match level and you're in raid log status, you are in raid log status and you just log in once a week to raid. But that's just the game. Like, that is any expansion ever, including original classic.

[18:15] Oh my gosh, look how beautiful that is. Insane. The difference here is that normally you would just get to the end of the game and keep doing the same thing forever, whereas in this game, we're going to get new raids every, you know,

[18:29] six months or whatever the content cadence is. So you'll be able to log back in and do that. The other key difference is, in Classic WoW, if you want to level an ult and go on an ult-leveling journey,

[18:44] you might be on that ult for, like, a month, two months, three months. Whereas, like, on retail, if you want to level an ult, you'll have that ult within, like, a day or two at max level in, like, farming dungeons already, right?

[19:00] So, yeah, like, your main might take you, like, a month or more to hit max. and like it's going to take you a while to get to raid log status. Anyway, to answer your question, like yeah, there should be hopefully like many, many, many, many months

[19:14] of like playing the game and grinding per character. So if you want a few characters, you could be playing for years, which is awesome. Better Blitzcrank got updated for forever. You have your own layout in it too, but there's a classic option.

[19:27] Let's make it big. The author deserves it. I read all of that very quick.

[19:40] Okay, good enough for now. Oh, good enough for now. Oh, good enough for now. Fireball. Yep, good enough for now. Oh my gosh.

[19:54] Yup. We're back. Oh, we're back. UI scale is probably a little on the small side.

[20:08] Whoa, a little on the big side now. Add-on name is better blitz frames. Still need one for name place and this and that, blah, blah, blah. That, to me, was the biggest one.

[20:20] Do I feel a difference in memory, Shen? I mean, yeah. So there's no server ticks, which feels way different. But in terms of the actual outcome, I think it's the same. It's not like I'm, like, higher or lower mana than I normally would be.

[20:33] But the way in which it happens with the picks is different. How come your name plates don't become larger when you target them? Might be a setting. I'm not sure. All right. So we got the frames working. We got this and that. Whatever, man.

[20:45] It's kind of working. It's kind of working. Ooh, I definitely want those. Definitely want those. Definitely want those. Wait a minute. That's my UI skin? Oh, my God.

[20:57] Dude, these hyperswamps in here. They're going crazy. Really good if they added classic UI. I mean, we can get an add-on anyway. Oh my gosh, guys.

[21:09] I am getting owned. This looks so high-suiting fair. Can't wait. I think overall, people are pretty darn blown away by this, man.

[21:22] I think even the haters have been kind of like quiet today. You know, like of course there's things to dislike and hate and whatever. But I feel like even the haters are like, oh crap, I gotta play that. Oh crap, that's looking a little too, you know what I'm saying?

[21:37] What's my FPS? 98. FPS seems a little on the low end still, so hopefully that gets optimized or something. When they go shamans in this cave, I think they're just so rad. Like, the fact that they added an NPC type to kind of reflect that, like, the alliance of shamans over on this side of the world now is just so cool.

[21:55] The UI looks so good. Yeah, we got like the classic UI. I think there will be still an add-on to get like the classic mini-map and like all that kind of stuff, but...

[22:17] But we'll, I'm sure, tweak that later. Alright, let's see if we can kill this guy. Draw a towel. Level 9. We lock in, we dial it up. I love the sound for Eureka. It's like a clear casting proc sound.

[22:29] Oh, crap. Is that Elder Wendigo aggro if I'm dead, by the way? Hopefully it's not an aggro. Oh, crap. Oh, crap.

[22:42] That heal. If the aggro or anything else were kind of cooked here... Wait, no drop at all? Oh, I don't have the quest for that. Shoot. How do you turn off fog? There was like a command for it. What was the command called, guys?

[22:56] Fog. It was like slash console fog crap slash console What was it Volume fog 0 or 1 So I could do like fog off and then fog on

[23:13] Fog off. Fog on. In a cave? It's like weird. In a cave like the fog actually makes the cave look better. Interesting. I'll leave it on for right now.

[23:25] Is leveling faster? Nah. Restores mana. Minor evocation. Whoa, is that what I think it is?

[23:42] Oh, that's so cool. Oh my god, bro. That's so cool. While you're leveling, you get random scrolls. You get like a minor evo one. Oh, that's awesome, man.

[23:57] That is so cool. How do you turn off second name? You just go into the options and turn off my secondary name. Okay.

[24:09] So I think I have enough silver to buy a bag. So I definitely want to do that. Man, this is just so fun, guys. Like, this is just so sick. I think I just love the idea that it's like when Classic Era came out,

[24:24] it's like at some point you know there's just going to be nothing else to do. But with this, you just know that there's always going to be eventually more content added. It's like such a cool thing to always have in the back of your mind, you know?

[24:37] Obviously, this is just a beta, so we're, you know... Ooh, arcane missiles. Oh, I see then! Okay, we got polymorphs, we got missiles...

[24:57] Okay, missiles, polymorph, and then he has top-ranked crossbow. Would you say they did it? I would say they did it, yes. Even though there's things that, like, still need to be done and things that I don't like.

[25:09] But, yeah, I would say overall, Blizzard gave us generally what we wanted. And that is no easy task, because everyone wants different stuff. I mean, they kind of crushed it, bro.

[25:21] Like I said, it seems like the haters are pretty quiet today. Now that the game is out in beta, I haven't heard that many haters. It's like, what are you going to hate on?

[25:33] Of course you can hate on the UI. The manatee. But it's kind of what we wanted, right? It's kind of sick. I only hate the UI? Yeah, fair enough. I hate the new splashing water sounds. I actually haven't seen those yet.

[25:46] I've heard they're really Roblox-like, but I haven't seen any water yet. How do I turn on classic frames? Have you seen an add-on called Better Blueprint? We've literally seen 10% of the game. Not even 10%. What have we seen?

[25:58] Probably 2% of the game. There's water up here. Okay, let's check out how water sounds. Because water is one of the things we did a massive visual update with. I mean, the water looks absolutely insane.

[26:12] Like, that's the water. Like, are you kidding me? It looks incredible. Let's listen to how it sounds. Sounds good. Now let's jump into it and listen to how it sounds when we jump in.

[26:33] Yeah, I agree that I don't know if I like the sound of the water. Yeah, I don't know if I like the sound of the water. I think I have to agree on that. The sound seems... Sounds like a little delayed, too.

[26:45] Yeah, I don't know if I like that sound. Is that the classic sound? that definitely feels a little different to me. Is it the same thing but way louder? No, it's definitely a little different, right?

[26:58] That's an easy fix? Yeah, like, to me it seems like a lot of the things that I don't like are pretty easy fixes. You know, which is good. Like, oh, just download an add-on for that. Or like, oh... Okay, I have to say,

[27:10] Comfrey and Skrull for a mage is really cool. So, like, I just got a Skrull of Spirit that I could just buff myself with Since I got a scroll. I also, like, while leveling, I'm gonna get a scroll up and view lesser flames.

[27:27] Just get 4 damage on fire spells. Sick, you know? Hopefully we get enough at endgame where we don't have to just, like, farm scrolls before a raid. But, or, like, hopefully if you do have to farm them before a raid, it's not like this really painstaking thing

[27:43] where it's, like, one in every 10,000 mobs gives you the one that you need. Because that would suck. Are they tradable? Oh, yeah, you could probably just buy them, huh? Are the animations on the HD models the classic animations, no bouncy running?

[27:57] So they're not the classic ones. They're the retail ones to make them look like the classic ones. But the HD models, in my opinion, still suck. So good thing we can turn them off.

[28:10] I'll show you guys what they look like. So right now, Gnome, as you know it. Right? I love it. It's great. Perfect. If you want, you can go HD.

[28:27] This is the retail gnome. Mmm. Ugh. You know, it's rough. The running, though, is just like classic. In the sense of, like, they didn't make it all bouncy.

[28:39] Which, by the way, they should bring that to retail. I swear they should just bring that to retail, man. Straight up. So, yeah. I don't like it. But, it's good. We have the options. Turn it off. Thank goodness for the toggle? Yes. Retail people would appreciate that?

[28:52] I think, I mean, I think it would be very well liked. Because I think a lot of people in retail that like the models still say they're too bouncy, you know? I mean, I swear there's a lot in this game that retail players would love.

[29:06] One of the things that I really like about Classic WoW, and like, that I'm excited for in this game, is when you play retail right away, you start getting tons of spell visual effects.

[29:18] And it makes you feel good in the sense of like, holy crap, I'm doing some epic stuff here. But what it also does is it just fills your screen with effects over a while. I really like that I'm a level 8 mage.

[29:30] And as a level 8 mage, my spell does this. One bolt. One bolt. One bolt. Like, how cool is that? Like, you're weak. You just started the game. You're not going to, like, blow up someone in one hit with, like, a massive fireball coming from the sky.

[29:46] Like, I feel like a lot of modern games do this mistake where, like, you start a new character and right away at level one you have, like, six abilities that just, like, nuke. And it makes you feel like you just beat the game.

[29:59] In fact, dude, you just started. You just started. Like, you should be weak as heck. You know what I mean? You're doing triple my damage and I'm a druid? Yeah, maybe it's home. the new UI has already grown on me. What are your thoughts? That's awesome.

[30:11] That's really cool. I think that's Blizzard's whole plan. If people are more used to the modern UI, moving forward, it's going to be a lot easier for them to manage

[30:23] this one code base, one UI for retail for this game. It makes sense. Having said that, I have played a lot of retail. This UI isn't new for me.

[30:35] I've already played with it a lot. And on retail, I usually find ways to turn it off as well. You know? So I'm no stranger to it. I just don't like it. 99% of people hate it. Actually, like, I thought that was the case, but that's actually not true.

[30:47] I did a poll yesterday of, like, do you like it or hate it, or do you not care? And about 40% of people liked it, 40% of people hated it, and about 20% of people didn't care. I think those numbers are about accurate, which was interesting, to say the least.

[31:02] Boom! Ding level 9, baby. Ding level 9. I think people complaining about the UI complain about everything in life, to be honest. Maybe. I mean, I don't like the UI.

[31:14] You might say I'm complaining about it. I generally think I'm the type of person who doesn't complain much about anything ever. But, you know, I want to give my feedback and give that to Blizzard

[31:26] and make sure that they know that there's people that don't like it. So, I think there's a place for fair criticism and a place for needless whining and complaining. I think if it's something that needs to be heard and you say it in a positive and productive way,

[31:42] like, I prefer the old user interface, I think things like that should probably be said. I don't think there's a problem with that. I think it's different if you start spamming over and over and over on the forums, on Reddit, on Twitter,

[31:56] on YouTube comments and on Twitch chat saying, new UIL unsubbed lol. New UIL unsubbed lol. Like, that's, I mean, that's pathetic, right? Like, yeah, maybe that kind of person is different. But if you're the same, yeah, I prefer the old one.

[32:09] But yeah, that seems like a fair criticism. Sure, whatever. Is the content too easy compared to Classic? The content difficulty feels the exact same as playing Classic so far. I don't have any new abilities.

[32:22] The scaling, as far as I can tell, is exactly the same. My mana regen's the same. I'm getting hit for the same. Health is the same. Everything feels the exact same. Now, ask me that same question when I have Ice Lance.

[32:36] Ask me that same question when we're max level and we have a bunch of new gear. Or when I'm a little 40 with a bunch of new gear. We'll see how it scales. But right now, everything feels basically identical to how I remember playing.

[32:48] The whole choice is for everyone is what ruined retail well. We don't want it to happen on Classic too. That's actually kind of true. in a sense. Like, so, like, Nipid Plus or,

[33:00] like, RBGs or flying or, like, all of these things, like, pet battles or, like, you, it's really, really, really easy to say, oh, let's just add more content because some players

[33:12] might like that content and if you don't like it, just don't engage with it. Right? If you don't like it, just don't engage with it. It's, like, a very common argument. And, like, to some degree, it's actually true. It's like, okay, yeah, just go pet battle if you don't like it. The problem is,

[33:24] like, Back in Classic WoW, you didn't have all these systems like hogging up the player base, so to speak. You just had all the players either in a raid,

[33:36] in a dungeon leveling, or out in the world PvPing. There was just a couple things and people engaged with them. All of these major systems take critical mass much easier. But if you have too many options for people

[33:50] and everyone just goes to their own corner of the world, I'm going to pet battle, I'm going to achievement farm, I'm going to, you know, do this and that and that and that, and like Mythic Plus and RBGs and Triller Shuffle and Blitz and Arena.

[34:03] It's like, it starts to quickly make sense why just adding more and more and more isn't always the answer. Even though it feels weird, like, on a surface level to, like, think that way. Because, like, on a surface level, it's like, well, yeah, it's kind of true.

[34:15] Like, just, if you don't like it, then don't do it. But I think we, I think we're right to some degree. Like, that's what we saw in retail. It's like more and more and more optional stuff, but eventually over 20 plus years, it became like you log in and it's just completely overwhelming.

[34:31] Content is nerfed because RU hasn died yet Okay first of all I would not have died on Classic Era either just to be clear Um okay And like no the nerfs it doesn seem like that the case Whoa

[34:49] whoa, whoa, what's this? Fill the crate with any bundle from the following list. Two Speared Lighthide or 20 Bolts of Liniclots. Waylaid Crate, Apprentice Fabrics. Interesting. So

[35:01] You fill the bundle with something and then like, if you get something in return or whatever. Delete that. I definitely want to pick that up. Got another tiger sign as well. It's kind of like Sod. Yeah. So they definitely learned some stuff from Sod that apparently they liked and want to bring into this game.

[35:16] Earlier today on the dev panel, we learned that they are going to keep in Rialst from Season of Discovery. If you guys didn't know what the Rialst system did,

[35:28] What it basically does is when you do a dungeon or an old raid, you get a currency called a rial. I'm a little fuzzy on this because it's been a while. But the rials are essentially a currency that you can use to buy some gear or some items,

[35:47] like trade goods. So you can get leather or ore or something like that. And by doing old content, you could then make gold, or get some cosmetic, or you could get some gear, or something like that.

[36:05] So especially if you're coming back to the game way later, it was really nice and sad. So we're like, oh, let me just do some of these dungeons and get some gear from it or make some gold from it. It was a really, really well-received system, and it sounds like that system is going to be in this game as well.

[36:21] Are you immediately going to swap to hardcore when it drops? It depends on the timeline, but essentially what's probably happening is when Hardcore Classic Plus comes out, only thing three will start. Like, I'm sure Soda's talked about this.

[36:35] I'm not the one in charge here, but realistically, that's what's happening. Only thing three starts when Hardcore drops. Because the whole world's going to want to play, and we'll make, you know,

[36:47] the only thing sealed and kind of send it. Hopefully, though, and maybe we should chat with Blizzard more about this, but we don't want it to be on, like, a new patch where there's new content coming out. It should be in an in-between patch.

[37:00] For example, we don't want it to be when a new raid comes out because all of us are going to be playing only things. Like, that would, you know, like, that would suck. Like, they should do it during downtime when everyone's bored, in-between raids. Like, that would make a lot of sense. Yeah, like, I'm obviously in Tarchwood Blizzard

[37:14] and I want to, you know, make the game as good as possible. Like, there's a few reasons I want to make the game as good as possible. The first is because I'm a lifelong WoW player. But the second, like, to be very transparent with you guys, like, I want the game as good as possible, too.

[37:27] Like, I'm a streamer, bro. Like, I want a good game to stream. Like, are you kidding me? Very, very good overall. But at the same time, I want to be able to give constructive feedback. Like, I hope it never comes off like I'm just like, oh, everything is amazing.

[37:41] Because it's like, no, like, there is some things that, like, should be looked at. And, you know, those are the things that I want to write down and be sure that we, like, kind of look at. because we all want to play the best game possible, right? So, toggle helm cloaks.

[37:53] That's going to be available at the Transmod Guide, even if you have it turned off, which is a little weird way of doing it, but I guess that's what they wanted to do. Ring CBT is a big stuff. Please listen, man. So, they've already kind of, like, we've already, like, you know,

[38:06] we've had these conversations. Like, they're already kind of looking into it, but I think the reality is, like, I hate saying this because it's, like, an awkward thing to, like, tell someone. Okay, how do I say this?

[38:18] the person who ranked PvP as a big deal for is a massive deal for. Source. I used to be that guy. The person who cares about ranked arena,

[38:31] they care about it because it's the only thing they play. They won't play anything else unless that's in the game. Does that sound about right? I don't want to speak for everyone, but I was that guy.

[38:44] That was literally me. It's like, I want this because this is, like, a big deal. I am going to sit here and play this all day long. Right? And if it's not in the game, it's like, bruh. That's the whole reason I'm playing.

[38:56] Right? That was me for, like, ever, by the way. I don't know, man. I don't know. Maybe one day they add it. Maybe one day they add it. We heard in the interviews today that that's not part of their plan. That they have no plans for anything ranked. They want to have ranking, but no rating.

[39:10] They want you to be able to play the game and get a title, a grand marshal or whatever, and reset and get here and do the ranking grind and play with your friends, whatever, but they don't want any, like, rating associated. No Mythic Plus score, no IO score,

[39:24] like, just no, what's it called, arena rating. Like, that's just, I don't know. That's what they said, man, so we'll see. Maybe one day they change it. Ooh, whoa, whoa, whoa.

[39:36] Guys, look, I don't take handouts, but I need to test this for you guys because these are new things. So this is not a handout. What this is, is me beta testing.

[39:49] Okay. Use increase of spell damage by up to 5 for 30 minutes. I'm going to beta test this by drinking it. Okay, it does in fact work. I might as well keep the buff up. Let's beta test this one as well. Elixir of Minor Defense.

[40:01] 50 armor for an hour. Yeah, that seems to be working as well. Cool. If you guys need me to beta test anything else, just let me know. If you need me to beta test your gold, mounts, items,

[40:13] epic, I'll test them out for everyone, anyone, whatever. I've chatted about this a little bit, but when Plastic Forever actually launches, I'm toying around, I haven't decided exactly

[40:25] what I'm doing, but I'm toying around with leveling to 60 like self-bound, like, okay, kind of self-bound, like turning trades off. Essentially, not

[40:37] allowing anyone to to trade me anything. Except I would allow myself to sell things on the auction house like if I got like a ore or whatever I could sell my own ore. For market price. Keyword, for market price.

[40:50] Essentially, playing the game authentically. Playing the game how I played it growing up. Playing the game how I played it before I streamed. Playing the game how I played it most of my life, right? Like, just playing it. I'm toying with that idea, right? So turning up trading,

[41:02] only being able to sell things for market price and just playing the game like anyone else would. because it makes the game, like, so fun when you actually are always reaching and striving for that next thing.

[41:14] Like I said, I haven't made my mind up, but I think that's how I played Season of Discovery, if you guys followed me there, and it was really fun. You know, that's how I played S.W.O.W.D., and it was exciting because, you know, I was doing my thing. So I think that's probably what I'll do, but I haven't, like, committed to that.

[41:28] Please turn on Enhanced Mode for a bit, pretty please. It basically is. Guys, enhance mode, all it changes, well there's like some UI stuff. Like the thing that you guys can notice the difference of is whether or not you have SD or HD character models.

[41:44] That's basically what it is. There's like the quest, toggle difference, and like transmog and I think it's the same thing else. But it's basically just that. And I've already showed that, it's just the retail one. Okay, so we hit level 10.

[41:56] Nice. Let's set up Hearthstone and get first aid. Speak with Bink and Ironforge. Yeah, I could do that. Concher, Water, Frost Armor, and Nova. Okay, Nova is big. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

[42:09] Minor Healing Potion. First Aid 1. Empty Vial, Spices, and Peace Bloom. Huh. Crazy. What does Alc do?

[42:21] I would assume it makes, like, this stuff. Like, the minor Arcane Elixir. Maybe you still make them as Alc, too, but... What can I do for you? Be good. Okay, make this in your home, sir. We're out city mall, nice. Train cooking. Nice. No, oh my god, oh my gosh, look at that guys. That is classic World of Warcraft right there.

[42:51] I mean, come on, man. Can't get better than this? Yeah, I'm blown away, man. So with water, I can unpack a first aid kit that allows you and others sitting nearby to gain free stamina,

[43:08] exclusive with powered fortitude. So if I get refreshing spring water, and I use linen bandages, I can sit near a campfire and buff off everyone else. I've gotta say this new professions have... I mean I'm pretty against all the new UI stuff

[43:26] but like... it actually looks kinda decent. You cannot place a feature that close to an object. Let's see this.

[43:45] I'm inside of it. Nice. no it's not i guess what i'm saying is i don't like it visually but i like the the utility that all of the professions are right here like cooking first aid mining and and professions are

[44:01] all in a very easily accessible tab so when you're sitting down all you have to do is click this and then you have all your stuff like okay i want to make some meat okay i want to make some first aid okay i get i want to you know do any of my craft stuff it's all right there i think i guess that's

[44:17] what I meant. Like, I like the utility of, like, that it's all here now. But, yeah, I could make it look like the old textures and stuff, like, make it, like, classify it, like, I would. Maybe an add-on. Who knows?

[44:29] Yeah, guys, guys, we need an add-on to not only do the mini-map and, like, the action bars, but, like, all of the, like, the spellbook and, like, the talents and all this stuff.

[44:41] Can you imagine? That'd be nuts. Today has been legendary. It's been historical. It's been nuts. Today was the biggest stream we've ever done by a mile.

[44:53] It has been crazy. I cannot believe today's turnout. It was legendary. Guys, we'll be back tomorrow, bright and early. I'll probably start normal time a little early,

[45:05] and we'll send it all day tomorrow. I am going to sleep. That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to sleep. Today was a day. Today was absolutely insane. Guys, I was not very good at saying thank you for subs today.

[45:19] I was just completely overwhelmed trying to do everything. If you subbed today, thank you very much. Whether it was a Prime or Tier 1, a Gifted, the donations, whatever it was, like, thank you guys.

[45:32] It was ridiculous. Today was ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. The game is mind-blowing. It's good, guys. It's good. It has its things, but I'm excited.

[45:45] I'm very, very, very excited. We'll see you guys tomorrow. We'll continue this mage. We'll get to level 20. I don't know if we'll get to 20 tomorrow, but we'll probably close and we'll make a bunch of alts.

[45:57] So, babe, this will be a ton of fun. Thanks for watching. If you're new around here, hit the follow button. We'll throw a raid on a summer. We'll do more giveaways tomorrow as well. Massive GG's, guys. We're out of here.

[46:10] Peace.
