[00:00] Oh, that's good life! Any copies of break time fans in the house? Yeah? Well, I'm sure you have questions.

[00:13] And thankfully, we have two characters to answer them for you. Lily Lovebraith and a character who is totally there of their own volition. Let's have a look. Hey, are you friendly, Frankie?

[00:30] That's who I found! That's right, a potential new friend! Only problem is, we don't know much about each other. Can you give us questions to ask each other?

[00:44] Say bye! Signed, Silly Lily. Honey!

[00:56] You guys sure ask a lot of weird questions. Uh, who are you talking to? There's nobody else here, lady. What?

[01:08] All right, all right. Once you're done here, Mr. Gibblet, I'll know if you're a good fit for our little friend circle. Sound good? No? Great question! What's the last lie you told and why'd you tell it?

[01:22] Well, I never lie because lying is wrong. And good toys don't lie. I pass.

[01:34] You don't. You can't pass. That's not how this works. Well, crazy pass, I don't want to talk about it. That's against the rules. You have to follow the rules or nothing of this works.

[01:48] Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I, um, told someone I knew that everything was going to be okay. Well, that doesn't sound like a lie.

[02:02] It is, if you know it's not true. What's the next question? Okay, you pick the next one. You pick the next one. I don't really have a choice.

[02:15] Do I? Okay. Talk about the butcher girlie. Spill the tea. What? Huh. I don't know what that one means. Why would anyone want to spill perfectly good tea?

[02:32] Maybe just pick another one. Hey, Lily. How come you followed the prototype around? He doesn't seem very nice. Hey. Yeah. You know, I've been wondering the same thing.

[02:45] What's wrong with you? What's fair to say? He's totally amazing. Look at everything he's done for me. He let me stay in that cozy lullaby room until I was all better.

[02:58] And then he gave me this pretty house. A whole house, Mr. Gimlet. Where's your nose?

[03:10] Well, that's a weird question. Obviously, you have a nose. Uh, lady, I think that was for you. You kidder. Obviously, that's not the...

[03:24] Oh. Wait. You, uh, good? Where's my nose? Where's my nose? Where's my nose?

[03:40] Last question. Gibles? Why aren't you like that? Like what? You know, why'd you get wrong-sided?

[03:55] Why'd they kick you out? Okay, this has been fun, but I don't want to talk about that. They don't just do that to anyone, you know. I hear things. I'm serious. Ask anything else you want, but I am not answering this.

[04:09] Why not? Who are you trying to protect? Maybe your best friend? Lying to your friends? Lying for your friends? That's no good. No good at all.

[04:29] But it's just trouble. What do you think, friends? What do we do with liars? What do we do with bad boys? I not telling you to dance here alright In your own Get down here Our game is in

[04:54] You're nuts! I'm out of here! In your tea, buddy! Oh, no, you don't! You need so much to drink my tea!

[05:06] He loves me! He loves me more than anyone! He loves me! Bye. Bye, men. I guess our game is over.

[05:20] Whoa. This is over. This is great.

[05:40] That was pretty good, right? Well, welcome back to IGN Live. We just heard the incredible voices of Poppy Playtime characters, Lily Lovebrates and Gibblet answering some of your questions.

[05:54] But to answer mine and yours, if you answer the QR code, we have the wonderful performers in the flesh, Nicole Tompkins and Elliot Schiff.

[06:08] Oh, thank you. Hi guys. Welcome, welcome. Now, I have some questions for you, and so do our friends here.

[06:21] How did you find the right voice? What went into bringing these characters to life? Oh, great question. Want to start us out? Sure. For me, it was kind of, you know, trying a whole bunch of different things.

[06:35] My voice kind of can vary, and I wasn't sure if they wanted him to be, they could describe him as kind of a goblin. So, I'm like, you know your goblin? my baby and like kind of you know different kind of thing we said he's more like friendly you know

[06:48] kind of helping so kind of had to tailor it a little bit and figure it out slowly and we over time were able to kind of hone in on it he really does he feels like your bud yeah you know he really epitomizes that's a bud yeah he's got your back yeah for lily it was um i mean kind of a similar

[07:05] process. I came in there with an idea, and they kind of adjusted from there. I think it's really common, you know, first session in, you spend at least the first little bit going, okay, does this

[07:18] hit? Does this work to be like this? Because you also have to find the voice through a lot of different motivations and emotions. You've got to make sure whatever you pick is something that really can be fluidly sustained. So yeah, it was an evolution of finding her level of like,

[07:35] and also how close or far she was from what Miss Gracie sounds like. So there's a little bit of a turn there. So we were trying to, like, find what that differentiation was,

[07:48] which got very clear when I did the audio tape where you hear them turning from Miss Gracie into Lily, of, like, really finding where that line kind of flurred. Where does it blur? What was your experience working not just on Poppy Playtime Chapter 5,

[08:03] but the video we all just saw. It was fun. I think you now have a good time. They have this great story set up, and you get to kind of really delve into what the characters are like,

[08:16] where they're coming from, and get a sense of who they really are. And to me, it was just a lot of play in the booth. I mean, I didn't get to do the on-camera stuff like you did, but it was still so much fun. And that video, once you really know the character already,

[08:29] it was like, oh, yeah, this is great. You just jump right back in and have fun with it. Yeah, I think the video is extra fun, too, because it's just such a clear engagement with the online chatter and the things that fans are saying or doing.

[08:41] So it's really cool to get to sort of respond kind of directly as the characters. It's not often you get to do something like that. And the game itself was, I mean, I had a blast, but I was getting to just be relatively unhinged.

[08:55] They really were just like, go. And I was like, okay. So it's so much fun. Be as out there as you can. Well, I'd like to play a game with you two, which is a foreboding thing to say in this context.

[09:09] Uh-oh. But as your two characters embody, some toys in the factory want to help the player, while others are aligned with the prototype. Here we are.

[09:22] Thank you, Nick. We've selected some popular toys. They in Nicole hands for you to decide how likely they are to align with the player or the prototype So let take a look at the toys and then make your decision by placing your images on the player or the prototype side of the board

[09:42] A game? I love a game! Oh, my boy. Alright, our first toy is Honey Bee Acres. Miniature woodland characters who live in themed dollhouses. They're so cute.

[09:55] Aww. But where do you think they align? There's got to be player, come on. I'm feeling like that's better. Yeah, they're good. You know, they're a little, I get it, a little, a little, but they feel like they would help. I'm with you. Could you imagine a lot of those little guys coming after you?

[10:09] I don't know. This will be scary. It would be intimidating, but I'm the only player. I think they'd let them attack me. They're so cute. You little kisses. Little kisses. Okay, next up we have Power Kitty, an interactive robot cat.

[10:24] Oh, is this right, huh? I think the front row is having it That's a prototype Yeah, I'm thinking It looks like it'll like you You're not moving anymore

[10:37] She's like, let's be friends You know I'm going to hug them and squeeze them Alright, our next toy The Fugglers They're plus monsters with a deliberately

[10:49] Unsettling aesthetic Oh boy I sure don't like looking at them Where? Yeah. They're good. They look like they're nasty on that side, but really really... Oh, that was fun.

[11:01] They're so farting. They're little monsters, but they're so cute. I feel like you might be scared of them at first, but they're really there to help. And I'd want them to help, yeah. Yeah. Does that sound right for you all? Player? Yeah. You got that? Yeah.

[11:13] I got a no over there. All right. Our next toy, where's Squeaky? It's an electronic hide-and-seek mouse. Oh. Where's Squeaky? Yeah, they seem squeaky.

[11:25] They can definitely take you down. I don't know. For sure. Imagine, like, 500 of those coming out of the walls at once. Or even just one hiding in really weird places. You, like, come around the corner, and it's just like, you can't see me.

[11:40] And it's like, maybe, like, I can. It goes invisible for a second. Wow. I guess those kids are in danger. Next up is the RC walking Dilophosaurus, which is exactly what it sounds like.

[11:54] Would he be friends with Pianosaurs? Aww, well maybe. You think? Pianosaurs? I think Dennis Medeski from Jurassic Park has an idea. Player? Yeah.

[12:06] It's feeling player-y, I agree. Yeah, it could be. I agree. Sometimes he seems to look much scarier. Prototype? Player? No, I think he's a dino.

[12:18] Oh, Dennis is a freak. Wow! I really didn't think it would go that way. I didn't think it would go that way. Really? You're feeling too evil? I mean, I have the mouth of it. Don't judge by the eyes. I'm not playing the game.

[12:30] All right, our next toy. Peepee, a plushy peanut-shaped character that is described on the website as, quote, a super... Did you say flesh eating? No. Oh, flesh eating. Oh, flesh eating.

[12:46] I will say, on the website, he's described as a super criminal. Super criminal. Oh, okay. It's done. I think some of you have met this toy before.

[12:59] Look at him. Yeah, that's scary. All right. You know, I don't trust TV either. But let's move on to our next toy. DJ Furby.

[13:13] Okay, Furby gave me a nightmare in the kid. I don't know. And Edgar Long Furby. Here's my question. But it's not just Furby. It's DJ Furby. Oh, I'm so sorry.

[13:25] You're right. He's long. See how long that Furby is? Oh, my gosh. He looks like Mugapillar. If it was a normal Furby, I feel like they already feel kind of evil, and so therefore I would subvert that and be like,

[13:37] it's probably a good toy who's just misunderstood. But the length? I just keep on coming. I feel like he's going to sneak around with you. Sorry, prototype.

[13:49] I mean, it seems like it'd be on your side, and then it would freak out, and then you know the truth. Yeah. Like, oh, man, man, man.

[14:01] Our next toy is the Fry and Fly Disc Launcher. It's a cartoon pig chef who fries eggs and then launches them. Yeah. Yeah? Seems pretty harmless.

[14:13] Yeah. He, like, tries to be spooky. He really wants to be evil but just like can help A cake cake Just go to your corner Cook me some lunch Whatever All right And we have one last toy

[14:28] It is La Boo Boo. The player prototype. No! You're telling me La Boo Boo is player?

[14:40] That thing would eat the player. I don't know, man. Oh, no! I'm going prototype. I'm going prototype. It's so divisive.

[14:57] The pressure. All right. Okay. All right. All right. If it's the player, let me hear you. Player?

[15:10] If it's prototype, let me hear you. All right. The votes are in, and it's demonic.

[15:23] All right. I think these are good choices. I feel good about it, yeah. It's a pretty evenly matched team, too. Yeah. Look at the Ashley prototypes more. Dar eyes. That's how they treat you.

[15:37] Truly. Okay, well, we do have some questions from the audience. Ooh. If you submitted earlier via the QR code. Let's see. What have we here?

[15:49] Let me pick the right one. This comes from Nathan. Is there any lore we don't know about Lily and Giblet? Can you say it one more time? Is there any lore we don't already know about Lily and Giblet?

[16:01] Not that I know. You think I know more than you? You're wrong. Wow. I feel like we'll find out more in the next chapter, right? I don't know. I have no idea. We're just the actors. We see the words. They don't tell us stuff.

[16:13] More I don't know. I mean, I feel like so much of the, like, y'all are so good at finding all the little Easter eggs. So me telling you about Easter eggs, you're going to be like, yeah, old news. We know.

[16:26] But I feel like there's lots of great, like, you know, Gracie-isms and, like, things that are around. I think my favorite one is the Gracie scarf. Have you all seen that? Yeah, one of those there.

[16:38] On the skeleton. Yeah, there's a Gracie scarf that she wears, and then it's on the skeleton later. and that's great war. I think it's very cool. And we don't all know that Gidlet loves to sing, but he does, you know, really.

[16:50] I think he pretends he doesn't, but I think the truth is he likes to sing. All right. Our next question comes from Seth. Which character or voice actor who has been in Poppy Playtime

[17:03] would you like to share some screen time with in the future? Ooh. I have a growing affection. Sorry, Gidlet. I have a glowing affection for Chomp Chomp. I just think he's so insane. And when they were first describing him to me, I was like, I'm like a crawling next stomach.

[17:24] So, I'm going for, I'm going for Chomkins. Do you mean the actor who plays? Any actor, any character. Sorry, I did not know. I went character. Either way is fine. I would love to be in something with, like, some of the people in Digital Circus and who are in the game, like Michael.

[17:40] I'd go back. Yeah, the amazing digital circus. He's in the game. He's Joey. I would love to be in something like that with him. He's awesome. Well, I have a question from Prince.

[17:52] What was your favorite time in the factory? My favorite time in the factory? Yes. Moment? The time that I got to throw a tea party and everybody came.

[18:05] I think my favorite time was when he got kind of reunited with Poppy for the first time. That was a really sweet moment. I like that.

[18:17] All right, I think we have time for another question. From Dana, who would win in a staring contest, Lily or Giblet? A staring contest? Yeah. Giblet's only got one. Giblet's only got one.

[18:29] All right, I was going to say. I'm in the ceiling right now. It seems like a little unfair. You'd probably like poke me in the eye or something. Honestly. Oh, yeah, perfect. You'd be like, I'm going to win. Poke me. Well, I was going to say, because you do the staring contest, but it looks like you just did.

[18:44] Yeah. She wins. All right. Unfortunately, that's all the time we have today. Aw. Thank you so much for coming, and please give a big hand to Nicole and Ellie.

[18:56] Happy bodies. Thank you. All right. Thanks, everyone. There's much more idea live to come. Bye, guys. Bye, everyone.
