06:50[00:00] What's going on everybody, Mortem here, this time bringing you a look at Steam's Party-Based RPG Fest,
[00:12] which is going on now until about September 21st, which, as the name would suggest, is in fact about party-based RPGs, which I have been known to play a little bit of here and there. So I figured why not jump into this and take a look at the sales and everything and see what they've got going on,
[00:29] because if there's anything I know about the world right now, it's that here in September, when there are tons of games releasing, the one thing people really need is more games to play. In all seriousness, though, I did think a few of these were interesting
[00:41] because they are either games that are on sale from earlier in the year, or there are other games that are on sale and will be relevant to upcoming releases, that kind of thing, and that's the stuff I enjoy covering as far as sales go.
[00:53] With that in mind, though, there are ultimately thousands of games taking part in this, as tends to be the case, as Steam ultimately releases crazy numbers of games. But because of that, if I miss something that you know is on sale and you want to drop it down in the comments,
[01:05] certainly feel free to do so. But otherwise, let's go ahead and get on with this. Now, I did want to kick this off with a little hidden indie gem you guys have probably never heard of. It's called Baldur's Gate 3. Now, this game is actually a sequel to some well-loved CRPGs from yesteryear.
[01:23] And I hear people are saying that it's quite good. I've yet to check it out for myself. I've certainly got to get around to it, and for a price like 30% offering it down to $42 US, seems like it might be a good time to check that one out.
[01:35] Second up, we've got Trails in the Sky First Chapter. This one is 50% offering it down to $30 US. I wanted to mention this one because the very day this video is going live, Second Chapter Remake is releasing, and so if you wanted to check out the first one
[01:49] before you dove headfirst into the second now a pretty good time to pick it up for cheap I will say personally with the first game I started off a little wishy on it but by the end they had like fully roped me
[02:01] into it, and I'm very much, though, looking forward to playing the second one. Now, once upon a time, many moons ago, I used to be a Divinity Lore channel, and so I would be remiss not to mention that Divinity Original Sin 2 was on sale for about 82% off, bringing it down to roughly $10 US. So,
[02:18] if you're looking to check this game out before the new upcoming Divinity title releases, which, to be fair, we have no idea when that's going to be, you can check out Original Sin 2 for cheap. And if you're wondering, lore-wise, like if you want to get caught up with the world and everything,
[02:31] Original Sin 2 is probably the best place to start. I've covered and talked about all of those games, as you would probably expect, but if you're looking to jump into them for yourself, Original Sin 2 is a perfectly good place to do that.
[02:43] It'll definitely get you the most important information. Speaking of sequels, however, I did also want to mention that Falasta 2 is on a 20% off discount, bringing it down to $32 US, though I do, of course, have to mention that that one is in early access,
[02:57] so it's still a ways off from its full release, but if you'd like to pick it up for a little cheaper than normal, you could certainly do so, and given that they just released their big multiplayer update on top of the Warlock class, which was a pretty good time, so a decent amount to check out there.
[03:11] Now, next up, I want to talk about a couple games that I haven't had a chance to talk about too much, at least comparatively, starting with Sea of Stars, which is 50% offering it down to $17 US. Sea of Stars is a really fun little throwback JRPG that does some fun things with combat and the like.
[03:28] Not all that long ago, it got a big free DLC called Throws of the Watchmaker, as I recall, and all of that was pretty fun. In a somewhat similar but slightly different vein, you can also pick up Chain Decos for 65% off,
[03:41] bringing it down to US That is another sort of throwback JRPG doing a lot of fun things and for a price like it hard to go wrong with that one It was a fun game in the sense that it just kept getting bigger every time an app would pass like you get access to new things and so later it be like this more expansive
[03:58] thing you can go check out and do and explore, and that was a really fun aspect of that game. Now, in a similar but ever so slightly different vein, we also have Clare of Ascure being 20% offering it down to $40 US if you want to check out that game and haven't done so, now's
[04:13] a decent time to pick it up. It won game of the year for a reason. It's pretty good. Don't want to say too much though. It's hard to talk about that game without spoiling it and you know if you're watching a video like this to get a recommendation on it. I would assume you haven't
[04:25] played it so something to know I suppose. I did also want to mention Digimon Time Stranger. This is actually a game I need to get around to playing. I want to play more of it. It's 43% off. It is $40 US. I checked out the demo when it came to Steam and it seemed really fun and I just
[04:41] I've been able to make time for it, but I've heard really good things, so I wanted to include it since it's in the sale. But then we've got a handful of smaller games I really enjoy, but again, don't have too much of a reason to talk about otherwise,
[04:53] starting with Wildermyth. Wildermyth is 35% off and it's $16 US, and Wildermyth does a lot of really fun things like story and character development that are a little difficult to explain in a short synopsis,
[05:07] and that, combined with the way it handles its magic system, make for a certainly unique game. I would say it's one that if you want more information on, I'd actually recommend going and watching my review for it as an example to get a better breakdown of everything that's going on,
[05:20] but pretty fun stuff otherwise. Speaking of unique, though, it really doesn't get much more unique than Banquet for Fools, a game that is competing for my own personal Game of the Year space, and it is 20% off, and it is $16 US.
[05:34] I love Banquet for Fools because of the world that it's set in. It's just very unique. it doing a lot of stuff that I don really see any other games trying to do these days There multiple endings all sorts of secrets to explore and find and it just overall a really great time Highly recommended Our penultimate entry
[05:52] however, is Expeditions Rome, my personal game of the year for, I want to say it was like 2022, and that is because it is a tremendous game. Now, I wanted to mention this one because it is,
[06:04] of course, on a deep sale, 75% off, bringing it down to $11 US, but also because a follow-up of sorts, like in the series, not story-wise, is in the works with Expedition Samurai, which I took a
[06:16] little bit of a look at not that long ago. And while it's still very early days for that one, Rome is fantastic and definitely recommended. Now, for our very last entry, I did want to mention Colony Ship, a CRPG that is a little more on the narrative side of things, is 60% off, and it is
[06:34] $16 US as a result. And that game puts you in the role of somebody who sort of traps on a generational ship, that is to say, it has been traveling through space for hundreds of years, and the chances of you being alive when your destination is reached are unlikely at best.
[06:50] And so that leads to a lot of very interesting setup about the goings-on of the ship itself, which is what the game is about. Like I said, a little more narrative heavy than the rest of these, but honestly a great time. I would still recommend playing it if you get the opportunity,
[07:03] but that is where I'm going to finish up with this particular highlight video. I certainly I hope you enjoyed it. If you did, by all means, like, comment, subscribe. Let me know how you feel about all these down below, if you picked up any interesting games on sale for yourself.
[07:15] But regardless of any of that, truly, just thank you so much for watching. I really do appreciate it. May you wander in wisdom, and have an amazing day.
[07:36] you
