T-Pain Names His Favorite Nintendo Games

[00:14] and gamer, and as it turns out, also a huge Nintendo fan. Here to tell me why he loves Nintendo and his favorite Nintendo Switch game right now, it's T-Pain. I want to talk to you a bit cuz I've never really got to pick your brain

[00:26] you're you're a big video game fan. You're you're an old-school Nintendo what's your history of of being a Nintendo fan? Do you have a memory of console? >> So, I have all the memories of all the

[00:41] Nintendo consoles, but I have the one that was special to me that was special to me was obviously a Nintendo 64 because in order to get that game or in order to

[00:55] acquire that console, my brother had to get a job. And my brother was the only reason I couldn't play the previous consoles because he was hogging it all >> I thought you were going to say because he couldn't because he didn't get a job

[01:09] you know, but when he got old enough to get a job, he wanted to get his own console, so he did go buy a Nintendo 64, but in order to, you know, stack his money back up, he had to keep the job. So, when he had to go to work,

[01:24] >> to play >> [laughter] >> [music] >> as not as player two. >> Do you have like a favorite Nintendo game of all time? Is there one that you

[01:37] hard to rank, right? Because there's so >> rank. It is hard to rank. >> rank. It is hard to rank. Man, go to I can It's It's >> Mario >> I mean any of them. Like any of them.

[01:51] >> you know, the mechanics of them, especially on 64. Like that's, you know, any any of the Mario Karts obviously have the mechanics of you know, classic played Mario Kart World and that you know, and

[02:08] Rhythm Heaven Groove. Obviously, party games are my favorite thing cuz I like I'm always you know, in my dressing room and stuff like that and just you know, hey, anybody want to go for it? Even on even on tour, part of my VIP

[02:24] package was you get to play Mario Kart with me. >> Yeah, so part of my top tier VIP package was playing a game of Mario Kart and you know, I put a lot of people on. There

[02:36] like, I've never played this game, but this is the closest I can get to you, so like, okay. I got to teach you that I got to I got >> [laughter] >> give a whole class.

[02:48] I think the Mario Kart series is is like, you know, that's I think that's the one that sticks with me the most because it can be competitive without it not like a a car game or something. It's like, so yeah, it's always

[03:03] Mario Kart is the one that stands the test of time with me. There's no version of that that I'm like, maybe not that one. It's always been like, yes, this is >> That is a great [laughter] answer. It's a great answer. Especially Mario Kart

[03:15] 64, I spend I I think I spent more time in Block Fort than I did in in Block Fort than I did in >> [laughter]

[03:28] soundtrack of all time? You're obviously a big music guy. This is a tough one cuz >> for me. Actually not for me cuz I was not a music guy, so that's what I pay attention to the most. All time though? >> Yeah, cuz see, now it is now it's

[05:04] >> I'm all in. Just the the composition of things. >> Then obviously we we have more bits now, so we actually do real horns and orchestrations and stuff like that, so just the integration of like jazz and

[05:17] and orchestral and you know, the the different styles, especially when you go into different worlds and how it still has that flavor of, you know, classic Mario music, but it's just it's just added with country and added with, you

[05:31] know, world style music and stuff. Like I've always wanted to kind of be a part of those meshes of of different genres and different different fields and worlds and kind of yeah, being a part of

[05:43] you know, when that world opens up and know, you do a 360 around Mario and you see the world but also the music kind of encapsulate what you're seeing and that feeling that you get of

[05:58] this is about to be a nice world. That feeling that you get it's it's 50% of the visual aspects but that 50% of the music that kind of gets you that that feeling. I always wanted to be a part of that for sure.

[06:24] the day and honestly, you know, when you do stuff like you know, what we did playing Rhythm Heaven Groove is kind of shoot day as we call it and it's just all business but when I got in there, man, it was awesome. You know, the team

[06:36] Obviously, the cast was great. Everybody Everybody from Smosh was amazing. They all had great synergy. You know, it did the whole day was just like was nice.

[06:49] people together. This has been like one of my favorite Nintendo games of this generation and it's just really, really funny. So, tell me why you love Rhythm >> It's been a great experience, man. Rhythm Heaven Groove is really like, you

[07:05] know, got me together with some of my uh to say. >> [laughter]

[07:17] both enjoy and just, you know, pick up a a joycon and you just kind of go. You know what I mean? And and you know, they they they can keep up with me. I'm winning a ton of games. I'm losing a ton of games. They're winning a

[07:31] ton of games. So, it's like, you know, it's a lot more fun than just watching >> [laughter] >> It's a game that combines I mean, it's a video game that combines music and

[07:43] bunch of those things. I don't think people really are. I genuinely think you're one of the funniest dudes out there. Were you were you surprised at how funny this game was? Because I'm like in tears.

[07:56] >> Yeah, I had you know, obviously it's a rhythm game so [music] you know, having usual rhythm games they don't have the the capacity for as much comedy because it's just like, hey, stick with it. Concentrate. Stay on the

[08:09] beat and that's it. You know, but you know, rhythm having groove it's like, sure you guys can pay attention to two things at the same time and if you things at the same time and if you can't, you know, get good.

[08:34] that's why it's my favorite [laughter] cuz it's also the one I'm the worst at. That's it. But the onion tweezers, you know, the thing is I haven't gone single player yet enough to like have a favorite. So, you know, the multiplayer

[08:48] rhythm games are completely different from the single player rhythm game. So, single player rhythm games enough to know like which one is my favorite but as far as the multiplayer in the group the the group games like, yeah, onion
