AI Summary
Patch 1207 for Midnight approaches, bringing a wealth of new content, currencies, and catch-up mechanics that significantly change the optimal preparation strategies. This video provides a clear guide on what players should prioritise before the patch to maximise their efficiency, as well as what activities are better left entirely until after the patch goes live to avoid wasting time and effort.
Chapters
These currencies will have significantly more valuable uses in patch 1207, such as buying specific heroic gear slot boxes (750 accolades) and transmog bags, so spending them now is inefficient.
While you should save any accolades you get, don't go out of your way to farm them. The new zones in the patch will reward them so abundantly that pre-farming will feel like a wasted effort.
If you lack full heroic gear, the current random methods are inefficient. After the patch, you can directly purchase specific pieces with field accolades, making pre-patch gearing a poor use of time.
The one-boss raid drops excellent loot (up to iLvl 298 mythic) and has flex mythic difficulty (15-25 players). Reviewing the boss journal on PTR or via Wowhead guides will make first kills smoother, especially for PUGs.
Don't hoard bonus rolls. The patch introduces new ways to earn them (quests for killing the raid boss and participating in ritual sites), ensuring you'll have plenty even if you start with zero.
Patch 1207 includes 6 weeks of back-to-back timewalking with a stacking 30% experience buff. Major quests (delves, weekly reps, dungeon quests) also get massive experience increases, making post-patch leveling far faster.
Solo players can now farm myth crests unlimitedly in tier 6 ritual sites, bypassing the prior 20-crest weekly cap. Unlock at least 6 challenges (avoiding 'Malevolent Boons' and 'Embers') to speed runs.
With myth crests more accessible, crafting rank 5 (iLvl 285) gear is huge. Aim for rank 4 and use concentration to boost to rank 5, which is much easier and saves gold long-term. Gather profession knowledge via work orders and treasures.
Kill the new world bosses 4 times for a guaranteed myth track cloak, belt, or bracers. Avoid crafting these same slots for efficiency. Use an addon like Keystone Loot to check catalyst stats before choosing.
For newer/returning players, these systems provide enormous catch-up power. The Void Forge offers bonus rolls, and the Nilhammer can boost weapons/trinkets. Critical for making 285 crafted weapons into iLvl 295.
The most strategic approach to the last week of patch 1205 is to save specific currencies, avoid farming gear or leveling alts, and instead prepare by unlocking key features like ritual site challenges and professions. The new patch's extensive catch-up mechanics reward patience and targeted preparation.

[00:00] Hey folks, this is Kalani. Patch 1207 is
[00:03] almost here. It goes live on June 16th
[00:06] and it introduces a bunch of new
[00:08] content, but you won't be able to jump
[00:10] into some of it straight away if you've
[00:12] been ignoring certain features or
[00:14] systems so far in Midnight. There are
[00:17] also a few things you can do right now
[00:19] to speed up your progress in the new
[00:20] patch and with so many changes coming
[00:22] our way, there are a lot of things that
[00:24] will become much easier after the patch
[00:27] goes live. So, doing any of that right
[00:29] now could be a big waste of time. So,
[00:32] let's go over what we would recommend
[00:33] you do before patch 1207 goes live and
[00:36] some things that you definitely should
[00:38] not do if you want to save yourself some
[00:40] time and effort. Now, before we jump in,
[00:42] be sure to hit them that like button and
[00:43] subscribe so you never miss another
[00:45] video.
[00:47] The first thing I would make sure you do
[00:48] before the patch goes live is to save
[00:51] all of your field accolades and your
[00:53] dark particles. We will have so many
[00:55] more options for spending these
[00:56] currencies in the new patch. You can buy
[00:59] specific hero gear slot boxes for 750
[01:02] field accolades each, so you can target
[01:04] the exact items that you still need to
[01:06] round out your gear sets. You can spend
[01:09] 100 field accolades on warbound champion
[01:12] gear boxes that you can then send to
[01:13] your alts to gear them up much faster
[01:15] and then you can spend dark particles on
[01:18] bulging bags that contain specific
[01:20] themed transmog items. So, getting your
[01:22] hands on those will be so much easier in
[01:24] the new patch, too. So, I would highly
[01:26] recommend holding on to both of those
[01:29] currencies until after the patch goes
[01:31] live because they're just going to be so
[01:32] much more valuable.
[01:34] Now, while I would save any field
[01:36] accolades and dark particles that you
[01:38] have or may happen to obtain during the
[01:41] last week of 1205, I wouldn't actually
[01:43] go out of your way to farm them
[01:45] specifically. Sure, you could farm up a
[01:48] hundreds and hundreds of field accolades
[01:50] right now and buy the exact pieces of
[01:52] gear that you want using the new heroic
[01:53] gear boxes right away on patch day, but
[01:56] field accolades are the main reward from
[01:59] the two new zones coming in the patch.
[02:01] Everything rewards them from completing
[02:04] world quests to opening treasures. On
[02:07] heroic world tier, which is now open
[02:09] immediately for everyone instead of
[02:11] needing to be unlocked, treasures will
[02:13] drop eight field accolades each. Killing
[02:15] a rare or completing a world quest
[02:17] rewards you with 30, and killing the
[02:19] world bosses will reward you with over
[02:21] 200. There are plenty of quests for each
[02:24] zone that reward 25 field accolades
[02:26] each, and the weekly quest rewards you
[02:28] with a cache that contains field
[02:29] accolades and even myth crests. If you
[02:32] are spending any length of time in these
[02:34] new zones, you'll be drowning in field
[02:37] accolades. So much so that any time
[02:39] spent farming them before the patch goes
[02:41] live really will feel like a waste. So
[02:44] definitely save your currencies, but I
[02:46] wouldn't actively farm them unless you
[02:49] really love running ritual sites.
[02:52] Now, if you are still not in full hero
[02:54] gear, I probably wouldn't worry about
[02:56] gearing up until the patch hits. Being
[02:58] able to buy specific pieces of hero gear
[03:00] would be better than almost anything you
[03:02] can do right now if you aren't taking
[03:05] part in mythic plus dungeons or the
[03:07] raid. And the best sources of field
[03:09] accolades are going to be in the new
[03:11] patch. So whether it's the random chance
[03:13] for hero gear at the end of your delves,
[03:15] the random hero gear in your weekly
[03:17] vault, or the random hero gear field
[03:19] accolade boxes, it's all random. So
[03:22] there's no guarantee of getting an item
[03:23] you actually need, and it's all going to
[03:25] take much longer when compared to
[03:27] farming field accolades in the new
[03:29] patch. So I wouldn't worry about gearing
[03:31] up if you're not already in full hero
[03:33] gear.
[03:34] Now, if you have no need for heroic
[03:36] gear, the field accolade rewards
[03:38] probably won't interest you too much,
[03:40] but the loot from the new raid probably
[03:42] will. The Sporfall one boss raid drops
[03:45] some of the best loot in the game, up to
[03:47] item level 298 on mythic, and this raid
[03:50] actually has flex mythic difficulty, so
[03:52] you can take 15 to 25 players in and the
[03:55] fight will adjust like any other
[03:57] difficulty does. That should make it
[03:59] easier to kill for more guilds or
[04:01] players, but especially easier to pug.
[04:04] So, it's not a bad idea to have a peek
[04:05] at the boss journal on the PTR to see
[04:08] what abilities we have to work with and
[04:10] how the fight plays out. If you don't
[04:12] want to pop onto the PTR, the Wowhead
[04:14] guide has all of the ability information
[04:17] and there are quite a few video previews
[04:19] if that's more your thing. Having idea
[04:22] of how the fight works before you step
[04:23] into it will make things smoother
[04:25] overall and should lead to some faster
[04:27] kills. Of course, if you'd rather go in
[04:29] blind, that's totally fair. I just hope
[04:32] you have a guild who will stick with it
[04:34] rather than having to resort to pugs.
[04:36] Make sure you have a bonus roll
[04:37] available so you can guarantee a piece
[04:39] of loot if you do get a kill.
[04:42] With this new gear being some of the
[04:43] best available for the rest of the
[04:45] season, you may be wondering if it's
[04:47] worth holding onto your bonus rolls
[04:49] until you can get in there and take down
[04:51] Rotmier. Each bonus roll guarantees you
[04:54] a piece of awesome gear, right? Well,
[04:56] yes, but we will still be able to pick
[04:58] up two rolls per week throughout patch
[05:01] 1207. There are also new ways to earn
[05:04] bonus rolls. There's a quest to take
[05:06] down Rotmier on any difficulty that
[05:08] rewards one, which means everyone should
[05:10] be able to grab an extra nebulous void
[05:12] core even if you only clear the raid on
[05:13] LFR. And then there's a quest for taking
[05:16] part in ritual sites that rewards a
[05:17] bonus roll, too. So, bonus rolls are
[05:20] actually more plentiful in patch 1207.
[05:23] So, while you may want to try and roll
[05:24] on Rotmier every week to get those
[05:26] souped up rewards, you don't have to
[05:28] worry about holding onto your bonus
[05:30] rolls to make that happen. Feel free to
[05:32] roll on whatever you want. We'll have
[05:34] plenty of bonus rolls to use in patch
[05:36] 1207 even if you start the patch with
[05:38] zero.
[05:40] Now, something I definitely would not
[05:42] spend any time doing before the new
[05:44] patch goes live is a leveling up your
[05:46] alts. Patch 1207 includes the Turbulent
[05:48] Timeways event, which gives us
[05:50] back-to-back time walking for 6 weeks.
[05:52] Time walking dungeons have always been
[05:54] great for leveling up quickly, but
[05:56] during the event, you'll also get a
[05:57] stacking experience buff, which caps out
[06:00] at 30% bonus experience gains, which by
[06:03] itself will make leveling so much faster
[06:05] when the patch goes live. But, another
[06:07] huge change in 1207 is that several
[06:10] one-time or weekly quests will see
[06:12] massive increases to the amount of
[06:14] experience they reward. Delve one-time
[06:16] quests were almost doubled up to 140,000
[06:19] experience each, and weekly rep quests,
[06:22] prey hunts, and dungeon quests all had
[06:24] their experience increased by a huge
[06:26] chunk as well, which will make leveling
[06:28] so much faster in 1207. So, I would
[06:31] personally wait for all of these changes
[06:33] if you still have a few alts to level
[06:34] up. Now, it is worth noting that all of
[06:37] these quests can be completed before the
[06:39] patch goes live, and their experience
[06:41] rewards will update. So, if you want to
[06:43] do a bit of prep work for leveling up
[06:45] your alts, you could knock out all of
[06:47] the delve one-time quests and some of
[06:49] the weekly event quests if you wanted
[06:51] to. And then, when the patch goes live,
[06:52] you can hand them all in for the
[06:54] massively increased experience rewards.
[06:56] It might be worth waiting until you get
[06:58] the 30% buff from the Turbulent Timeways
[07:00] event to really rack up those experience
[07:02] gains, but that's going to be up to you.
[07:05] So, personally, I would wait to level up
[07:07] your alts, and the same goes for gearing
[07:09] up any alts that you do have up at level
[07:11] 90. Patch 1207 offers so many different
[07:14] ways to catch up on gear, and we'll have
[07:16] access to so much war-bound gear that
[07:19] you'll be able to gear up your alts
[07:20] without even playing them. Rares in the
[07:22] new zones drop war-bound champion gear,
[07:24] the world bosses can drop war-bound
[07:26] heroic gear, and if you still need more
[07:29] gear, you can buy war-bound champion
[07:31] pieces using field accolades. The time
[07:33] walking event weekly quests also get
[07:35] bumped up during the Turbulent Timeways
[07:37] event, so that's six heroic caches you
[07:39] can pick up for every character during
[07:41] the patch as well. So, save your time
[07:44] and don't worry too much about gearing
[07:45] up your alts before next week.
[07:48] If you're interested in taking advantage
[07:50] of the new myth crest rewards that will
[07:51] be available for solo content players,
[07:53] it's not a bad idea to make sure you're
[07:55] ready to hop straight into tier six
[07:57] ritual sites when the patch goes live.
[07:59] Setting that up is super easy. You just
[08:01] need to have unlocked at least six
[08:03] challenges by completing the quests tied
[08:05] to ritual sites. If you want to make
[08:07] these as easy as possible, I would
[08:09] ensure you have these challenges
[08:11] unlocked. The two you probably want to
[08:13] avoid are malevolent boons and embers.
[08:16] They're going to slow down your runs far
[08:18] more than any other challenge. And if
[08:20] your main goal is farming myth crests,
[08:22] you just want to finish the ritual sites
[08:24] as quickly as possible, ignoring any and
[08:26] all side objectives. If you've been
[08:28] taking part in ritual sites already,
[08:30] this shouldn't take very long. But if
[08:32] you've been ignoring the feature
[08:33] entirely, you may have a bit of work to
[08:35] do. If you haven't done anything with
[08:38] ritual sites yet, you should be able to
[08:39] pick up a quest near the field acolyte
[08:41] vendors in Silvermoon that introduces
[08:44] you to the system and leads into the
[08:45] challenge unlock quests.
[08:48] Now, the main reason why you may be
[08:49] interested in this new source of myth
[08:51] crests is because it allows solo content
[08:53] players to farm enough myth crests to
[08:55] fully upgrade any spark crafted gear
[08:57] that you may have made or that you may
[08:59] have been ignoring up until now. Solo
[09:02] players were strictly limited to 20 myth
[09:04] crests per week from the delve system.
[09:06] That means it would take 4 weeks to get
[09:08] a single piece of 285 crafted gear.
[09:11] That's not really ideal, but tier six
[09:13] ritual sites lets you farm myth crests
[09:16] as fast as you want to. So, your radiant
[09:18] sparks are suddenly worth a lot more.
[09:21] So, it's not a bad idea to catch up with
[09:23] your radiant spark acquisition if you're
[09:25] a little bit behind. Every two sparks is
[09:27] one more piece of 285 crafted gear in
[09:30] the new patch, which is some of the best
[09:32] gear you can get your hands on as a solo
[09:34] content player. You can earn missing
[09:36] sparks by completing end game content,
[09:38] which will mostly be limited to delves
[09:41] if you don't take part in any group
[09:42] content.
[09:44] With 285 crafted gear becoming even more
[09:46] accessible, now is also the perfect time
[09:49] to set up your own professions if you
[09:51] haven't already, so you can craft your
[09:53] very own rank five gear. Setting up
[09:55] professions really doesn't take too
[09:57] long, and at this point in the
[09:58] expansion, it's also very cheap to just
[10:01] buy most of what you need with gold. For
[10:03] most gear slots, you just need to get to
[10:06] around level 50 in your chosen
[10:07] profession, unlock the appropriate
[10:09] specializations for whatever you want to
[10:11] craft, make sure you get as many first
[10:13] time craft bonuses as you can afford,
[10:16] pick up all of the one-time treasures
[10:17] scattered around the midnight zones, but
[10:19] buy up some of the midnight profession
[10:21] equipment, preferably the rare or blue
[10:23] ones if you can afford them, and spend
[10:25] your profession knowledge points in the
[10:26] trees that boost your desired craft. You
[10:29] should also keep an eye on your NPC work
[10:31] orders page because at this point you'll
[10:33] have an insane number of catch-up
[10:36] available to They just take a little bit
[10:38] of time to refresh, but that can be a
[10:40] very easy way to earn boatloads of
[10:42] profession knowledge to reach rank five
[10:44] crafts quickly. And remember, the goal
[10:47] here isn't actually to be able to craft
[10:49] rank five gear straight up. You only
[10:51] have to reach rank four, which is
[10:53] significantly easier, and then you can
[10:55] use concentration to boost your craft up
[10:57] to rank five. But the best part about
[11:00] this is that once you've set things up
[11:02] once, you can craft your own gear for
[11:04] the rest of the expansion. No more
[11:06] looking in trade chat for a crafter or
[11:08] worrying about how much to tip, just get
[11:10] the new sparks in season two and craft
[11:12] your own stuff. And then you can do it
[11:13] again when season three rolls around,
[11:15] and when it's time for a new expansion,
[11:17] at least you'll know exactly how it all
[11:19] works, so you can set things up even
[11:21] faster next time, assuming they keep the
[11:23] same profession system in The Last
[11:25] Titan, anyway. I finally just got around
[11:28] to sorting my jewel crafting out, so So,
[11:30] this point I can craft almost any piece
[11:32] of gear at rank five that my main few
[11:34] characters could ever want, which is
[11:36] pretty awesome. So, if you haven't set
[11:38] up your professions yet, now is a
[11:40] perfect time, so you can save yourself a
[11:42] bunch of gold and craft some awesome
[11:43] gear in 1207.
[11:46] While we're on the topic of crafted
[11:48] gear, you might want to plan your pieces
[11:50] ahead of time due to the new myth track
[11:52] gear reward from the heroic world tier
[11:54] difficulty. Every single player will be
[11:56] able to choose between a cloak, a belt,
[11:58] and some bracers. To earn this piece of
[12:01] myth track gear, you just have to kill
[12:02] the new world bosses four times, so it
[12:04] may take a few weeks to get this done,
[12:06] but it's a guaranteed piece of myth
[12:08] track gear for one of those slots. These
[12:10] three slots are very popular crafted
[12:12] gear slots due to their low stat budget
[12:14] and because they aren't tier gear slots.
[12:17] But, with sparks still being a somewhat
[12:19] limited resource, you don't want to
[12:21] overlap a piece of crafted gear with
[12:23] this myth track reward. That just
[12:25] wouldn't be efficient. Now, I imagine
[12:27] most players would look at these rewards
[12:29] and focus more on the belt because it's
[12:32] only item without versatility, but it's
[12:34] important to remember that you can take
[12:36] any of these pieces of gear and pop them
[12:38] in the catalyst to change the stats. The
[12:40] resulting stats depend entirely on your
[12:43] class or armor type, but the easiest way
[12:45] to check this is by using an add-on like
[12:47] Keystone Loot. On the right-hand side of
[12:50] the add-on, you can see all of the items
[12:51] tied to the catalyst, so hover over the
[12:53] cloak, the bracers, and the belt, and
[12:56] that will show you what these items look
[12:57] like if you use them in the catalyst.
[13:00] So, you need to take both the actual
[13:01] quest items and the catalyst results
[13:03] into account when choosing which item
[13:05] you might want to pick up, and then just
[13:07] make sure you don't craft that gear slot
[13:09] by accident. That will give you the
[13:11] highest possible item level as you head
[13:13] into season two as a solo content
[13:15] player.
[13:17] Now, to round out this video, I've seen
[13:19] a lot of comments from new or returning
[13:21] players wanting to catch up on all the
[13:22] fun, and I've seen some comments
[13:24] wondering what the heck certain features
[13:26] are for and how they work. So, let's go
[13:28] over a few things you definitely want to
[13:30] get done if you haven't already. The
[13:32] first one is unlocking the Void Forge.
[13:34] For most up-to-date players, this might
[13:36] seem a bit strange, but I've seen a few
[13:38] comments recently that boil down to
[13:41] "That doesn't seem worth it. I'm
[13:42] ignoring it entirely." which is wild to
[13:45] me.
[13:46] The Void Forge is just free gear when
[13:49] you unlock it. You can get two bonus
[13:50] rolls per week since it was first
[13:52] enabled, which is an insane amount of
[13:54] loot at this point in the game. If
[13:56] you're returning player for the new
[13:58] patch or you just ignored the Void Forge
[14:00] for whatever reason, pop by Void Storm,
[14:03] talk to Decimus, and if he has any
[14:05] purple important quests for you, make
[14:07] sure you get them done. You're leaving
[14:09] free loot on the table if you don't have
[14:11] the Void Forge set up. The same goes for
[14:13] the Nilhammer. After you finish those
[14:15] quests, you can loot items that help you
[14:17] boost the item level of weapons and
[14:19] trinkets. The Ascendant Void Cores will
[14:21] also be more useful for solo content
[14:23] players because you can now freely
[14:25] upgrade crafted gear to 285 thanks to
[14:27] tier six ritual sites. So, that 285
[14:30] weapon that you can now very easily
[14:32] craft is actually a 295 weapon if you've
[14:35] got the Nilhammer unlocked. So, if
[14:37] Decimus has any important quests for
[14:39] you, go get those done. Both the Void
[14:41] Forge and the Nilhammer help you gear up
[14:43] insanely fast, which will make the new
[14:45] rewards in patch 1207 even better. But,
[14:48] that's everything we would recommend you
[14:49] do before patch 1207 and some things
[14:52] that you can totally wait on. So, that's
[14:54] it for this video. What are you going to
[14:56] be working on in the last week of patch
[14:57] 1205 and what are you most looking
[14:59] forward to in the new patch? Leave all
[15:01] your thoughts in the comments section
