The Official Warcraft Timeline [Lore]

[00:04] Hello everyone!

[00:05] I figured it could be fun to talk about the 

[00:20] in perspective. Lets put it into context and see 

[00:41] Year 0 on the timeline is defined by the first 

[00:47] the foundation of the story. The first time 

[00:54] and the war that followed. On the timeline 

[01:00] Anything after that is defined by x amount of 

[01:05] Anything before that is defined by x amount of 

[01:10] We do not have a starting year for the 

[01:15] the early cosmic eventsare floating somewhere 

[01:20] wiki page linked in the description down below 

[01:25] but this one has one of the earlier moments 

[01:32] the dark portal. Conncted to a questline which 

[01:40] 150.000 years old, believed to have its origin 

[01:46] us much besides the Timeline goes back over 

[01:52] of great importance to remember, then we go 

[01:59] A lot of Warcrafts stories refer back 

[02:04] like a story of the dragons or the night elves or 

[02:09] Ancients speaks of a time in which Sargeras made 

[02:15] it would be a wonderful time to bring in Sargeras 

[02:20] impure and inferior races. Make it perfect just 

[02:27] Eternity, a massive fount of magical power that 

[02:33] when the titans ripped out the old ogd Y’shaarj 

[02:39] That huge amount of power could sustain a portal 

[02:45] The world found out about this, a resistance 

[02:51] the world of Azeroth came to her defense and 

[02:56] not without a great price. The portal over the 

[03:02] had made the well incredibly unstable and so 

[03:08] remnant of the well, left behind in the middle.

[03:13] effects of the war would ripple on 

[03:18] Like Pandaria for example, is tied to this 

[03:23] as their emperor forsaw the coming of the 

[03:27] The Nightborne did a similar thing, casting a big 

[03:33] The dragon aspects did a similar thing hiding away 

[03:43] The waters from the well of eternity and its power 

[03:52] created a new well and they planted Nordrassil 

[03:58] can imagine, they had just fought a war over the 

[04:03] something they wished for. Enchantments on the 

[04:08] immortality and a strong connection to nature, 

[04:14] They would be the defenders of the world but not 

[04:19] arcane ways. Some of the highborne night elves 

[04:24] punishable by death. To not have to execute all 

[04:30] but not before taking one of those vials filled 

[04:36] setting up their new home of Quel’thelas where 

[04:44] A critical defining moment in time which 

[04:48] if you’ve kept up with the channel. A span of 

[04:54] time of the opening of the dark portal. A 

[04:59] in comparison to what happened 

[05:03] Some of the highlights of those 10.000 years.

[05:05] 9300 years before the opening of the dark portal 

[05:13] the ancients, Xavius, who you might know as 

[05:19] more of his kind into satyr after sargeras so 

[05:25] the first. When the legion was defeated and 

[05:29] back to where they came from, not all of the evil 

[05:34] around being quite a threat to the night elves. 

[05:41] a vicious brutal form which would give them 

[05:46] shan-do malfurion forbade it. Little did they 

[05:51] form himself and nearly lost himself to the beast 

[05:56] same mistakes he had, but some did not listen. 

[06:02] of elune, giving birth to the first of the Worgen. 

[06:07] forever slumbering while within their heart ached 

[06:13] when thousands of years later they’d be summoned 

[06:20] eventually spreading the whole 

[06:27] It would take quite a few years for the 

[06:42] as this is dated 6800 years before the opening.

[06:50] humans of Arathor. They’re the horrific mutated 

[06:56] not bare to kill their own children despite 

[07:04] mutation was caused through something called the 

[07:09] mecha gnomes, earthen and vrykul and transformed 

[07:14] corruption and litteraly giving them 

[07:19] Gnomes and the Humans. Funny enough, this curse 

[07:24] the old gods. What they designed as a weakness, as 

[07:30] the titans themselves could not have imagined.

[07:38] the dark portals Thoradin of Arathor went 

[07:44] kingdom and then they allied with the high 

[07:54] the troll wars. The amani trolls were not happy 

[08:01] troll lands and while the humans were mighty 

[08:05] little bit extra. 100 of their kind were trained 

[08:11] and together they won the war. Securing a victory 

[08:17] truly recover form it. Meanwhile the allegiance 

[08:22] the reason why they would join the alliance of 

[08:27] grow and expand, eventually setting up new 

[08:34] Having access to magic does not come without 

[08:39] dabbled with powers beyond their understanding 

[08:44] would dabble deep into forbidden powers of 

[08:51] before the opening of the dark portal, the 

[08:56] their champions against the demons, but also 

[09:01] with the avatar of sargeras in the year 823 

[09:09] his spirit infiltrated her body and would 

[09:14] already corrupted by the spirit of sargeras 

[09:25] But before that we had the war of the shifting 

[09:34] elves nad dragons battles in the sand of silithus 

[09:41] maintaining c’thuns prison until reopening 

[09:47] 230 years before the opening of the dp!

[09:53] their high king died. bronzebeard, wildhammer and 

[09:58] of ironforge, would then split apart. The 

[10:03] ironforge. The wildhammers set up first in Grim 

[10:08] in the area claled redridge at the time, but the 

[10:14] summoning ragnaros and enslaving his people to 

[10:22] Only 230 years before the opening of 

[10:28] me with how not long ago that is considering 

[10:32] during Warcraft 3. Considering Magni is his older 

[10:39] would have been born relatively 

[10:50] So in the span of 10.000 years we’d see 

[10:57] new curses. Wars played out but over a pretty 

[11:07] compared to our own timeline ofcourse, but 

[11:11] once Medivh opened the dark portal, connected 

[11:16] horde ot come in. What we’ve spoken about 

[11:22] Every single story and game from Warcraft 

[11:28] years give or take. Maddening when you 

[11:32] Well as Discussed, the opening of the dark portal 

[11:38] The second war, which is stormwind falling to the 

[11:43] of Lordaeron to counter this threat – That’s 

[11:49] Year 6 is when Warcraft 2: Tides 

[11:52] where we would see the first defeat of the 

[11:56] Year 8 is when the dark portal re-opens and 

[12:01] shutting it from Draenors side as it 

[12:05] 18 years after the dark portal and the 

[12:10] we’d see his mother Aegwynn gather her power 

[12:15] Warcraft 3. So in the previous years Stormwind 

[12:21] slave gladiator and then liberated not only 

[12:26] the Horde. Not to conquer azeroth as it was back 

[12:31] a piece of azeroth to call their home.

[12:35] Thrall in his dreams, guiding him on the path to 

[12:40] was corrupted. Now he’s come back and he’s 

[12:46] invasion of the burning legion. Archimonde 

[12:50] remember back when 10.000 years ago... 

[12:57] Malfurion and their allies rallied together to 

[13:03] the tree, sacricifing the night elves immortality.

[13:10] was released from prison and played the roll of 

[13:15] Meanwhile Arthas walked the road of damnation, 

[13:22] the genoicde of the high elves of quel’thelas, 

[13:26] merging with the lich king at the top of Icecrown. 

[13:32] at year 25. 4 years had passed since the mortal 

[13:41] might of the Burning Legion. That battle at mount 

[13:47] Each expansion usually takes around a year 

[13:53] Classic: Year 25 to year 26. Yes, 

[13:59] from decapatiting van cleef to defeating 

[14:05] phylactery for a bit of loot so he could 

[14:10] 26 years after the first time the 

[14:14] 17 years after the sons of lothar closed it 

[14:20] the dark portal opened up again...the 

[14:24] as we partied in the burning crusade. Found 

[14:30] the burning legion by pushing Kil’jaeden 

[14:34] Only one year later, year 27. and 

[14:39] to clash with him in Northrend 

[14:42] Year 28 and Deathwing saw fit to break out 

[14:48] but the Shattering, changing the surface of 

[14:53] quite a bit of change amongst leadership of the 

[14:58] crystalisation of magni, thrall handing over the 

[15:02] Grommash, who he had met 2 years earlier 

[15:07] Garrosh is actually older then Thral. We’d take 

[15:15] But then, Deathwing breaking out also caused 

[15:21] After 10.030 years give or take, the 

[15:26] and Alliance brought their faction war to 

[15:31] ending with garrosh kicked out of mantle 

[15:36] Year 31 and the dark portal would technically 

[15:41] to red as Garrosh managed to escape his trial and 

[15:47] that reality to ours and this is where it gets a 

[15:53] reality with some minor changes compared 

[15:59] hadnt been born here. Not only that, it 

[16:04] from our timetraveling Garrosh who prevented his 

[16:09] and enslaving themselves to the burning legion 

[16:14] but they would be conquerers, trying 

[16:18] year 31. So heroes rose up, stepped through the 

[16:25] called Iron Horde. Even went around round with 

[16:32] they made the decision that where the demons live, 

[16:40] done on twitter and to this day still one of 

[16:45] that’s saying something considering shadowlands. 

[16:49] blasted over back into our timeline, our reality, 

[16:56] The biggest legion invasion as of yet. 

[17:01] Anduin and Sylvanas take over. Magni wakes 

[17:05] Velen gets to do something, Surramar rejoins 

[17:13] his redemption arch. A massive rift opens 

[17:19] homebase of the legion and former homeworld 

[17:23] which must have been a crazy day for regular 

[17:29] and you look up, suddenly there’s a green broken 

[17:36] We manage to defeat Kil’jaeden and then sargeras 

[17:42] but ofcourse the demons aare still out there. 

[17:47] his sword stuck into azeroth and all across its 

[17:54] for the regular people, you’d imagine we’d 

[18:00] when thinking about it...the world itself 

[18:04] shit happening in such a short timespan. Do you 

[18:11] was expecting rain today but I guess a literal 

[18:16] Now that’s a story i’d love to see explored.

[18:22] on warcraft forever....or well...atleast for like 

[18:27] Azeroth. Year 33 where the fourth war is started 

[18:33] Teldrassil but would end with another warchief 

[18:38] telling them all that they’re nothing while 

[18:44] whill the horde be lead by a warchief, they 

[18:49] peace between the alliance and the Horde is 

[18:53] Year 35 is when the sky above opened up 

[18:59] the place where your soul goes for all 

[19:04] to those kidnapped or those with super 

[19:08] randos from azeroth pop in to check on their 

[19:15] what kind of influence would this have had 

[19:20] we dealt with Sylvanas and the jailer, his 

[19:26] And then something interesting for the timeline 

[19:31] so many years of adventure after adventure...they 

[19:36] breather. Year 35 is when Shadowlands began taking 

[19:43] is when dragonflight kicked off so for 3 years 

[19:49] again crazy when you think about it. When you 

[19:53] if you make timeskip to big then you get 

[20:00] Either way, after 10.040 years give 

[20:08] themselves again and we get another crucial 

[20:12] the ancients. The dracthyr were created 

[20:18] rejoined the story. Assuming they’re following 

[20:24] we can expect the War Within to take place 42 

[20:30] These are just a few highlights
