[00:00] So on this channel I've talked about a lot of different things ranging from goofy topics, serious topics, but there's always one topic I tend to go back to time from time and it's about creators and things that either help them or are trying to bring more awareness to things that can

[00:13] screw them over. And if you've ever seen Shark Tank then I tend to call myself the Mr. Wonderful of the online creation world, not because I got a lot of money because I don't, but because I tend to want to tell you the truth that you don't want to hear. When it comes to a lot of content

[00:25] creating guides and videos online they all tend to be a lot of kumbaya we're all friends we're gonna make it motivational pretty much like inspiration posts that you see on facebook like i woke up today the sun was beautiful i felt to shine down on me and i'm gonna prosper today

[00:40] you know bullshit like that in reality more times than not you're not going to make it as a streamer on twitch or youtube you know you're not going to be able to make millions of dollars like your top favorite creators there's always that chance that you will but you need to be grounded in reality

[00:53] and understand that the chances of that actually happening is probably not likely. You almost have a better chance of winning the lottery at this point. But I don't say these things because I don't want to hurt your feelings or make you sad. I just want to put you in reality and make you understand that just because it's great to feel motivated and inspired,

[01:08] you need to be realistic as well too and understand that if your dreams are to become a big YouTuber, become a big streamer, you want to make a lot of money and be able to make this your full-time job, you need to understand the harsh reality of how this all works first and realize that you're one out of probably a fucking million at this point that all want to

[01:25] do the same thing as you. Anyway, the reason I'm making this video today is because I had another email come in recently. Yeah, I know. I get a lot of these emails recently for creator updates and events and things you might be interested in. And I got one from Stream Elements that was talking

[01:38] about a sponsorship. Now, you've been part of my Discord and you know I've spoken about this in the past, but I never made a video. But I decided it's finally time to make one because I personally don't like the way that stream elements decides to show their their uh sponsorships if you will

[01:52] because in reality they're not really sponsorships at least the ones that they offer to small streamers such as myself or to people of the same caliber especially with stream elements is it's like a multi-tool for creators you get stream element overlays you can do different widgets

[02:05] you got uh donations like a pay system then you got the sponsorships it's like a competitor to stream less which is pretty much the same thing as stream elements it's a way to help out creators It's like a swiss army knife for creators.

[02:17] You get a lot of different tools to things that can help benefit you as a creator. And honestly they're generally great resources for creators. I have no problem with that. But my real issue comes with their sponsorship portion because it's not really a sponsorship. It is affiliate marketing.

[02:30] But let me show you their video first so you can get an idea of what their sponsorship system entails. It doesn't matter if you have 3 or 3,000 viewers. The Strain Elements sponsorship program will allow you to work with some of the world's

[02:44] most popular brands that your audience will love. You're a partner to produce authentic content that earns you money to help you keep leveling up your stream while staying true to yourself and your community. Our sponsors have been vetted, verified, and they're eager to work with you.

[02:59] So stop searching for deals and let us bring them to you so you can focus on what you do best, making awesome content. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Here's how it works. Step one, get invited to sponsorships through the platform.

[03:12] and check out the offer details to make sure it's right for you. Then go through a five setup and get right into the content Step two promote the brand during the Twitch stream and track your progress in the dashboard

[03:28] Your earnings will go up when your community gets engaged with the sponsorship. Step three, once you complete the sponsorship requirements, get paid quickly and securely

[03:40] with StreamElement's 100% secure payment system. Yep, it's that simple. Each campaign you complete is like an additional line in your creator resume. And as you get more experience, you'll unlock more sponsorship opportunities.

[03:54] So, what do you say? Ready to join thousands of creators who are making money doing what they love? Sign up today and get your first sponsorship opportunity. So what do you think? You ready to take on this challenge?

[04:06] You ready to take some of those sponsorships on and make some big money? If your answer is yes, then let me change your mind. Because you're probably not going to want to do it after I show you this. So first, let me break it down for you. Let's see, what is a sponsorship just going on dictionary.com?

[04:20] The second one is the best way to describe it. It is an arrangement under which a company helps fund a radio or television program or convention or other events, or a charitable organization in return for an opportunity to advertise.

[04:32] So, what that meaning is, let's say I get sponsored by HelloFresh. They're paying me a lump sum of money to promote their brand and their product and for hopes that they get new subscribers or people that come by. That is what a sponsorship is.

[04:44] It is where you get money in return to advertise a said product. That is a sponsorship. What StreamElements tries to promote as a sponsorship is really not a sponsorship. It is more like affiliate marketing.

[04:56] The way it works is I promote a product in the hopes that you will buy the said product and then I make a commission based off every single product that a customer or a viewer buys from my stream. So if I say, hey, if I make 10 sales on HelloFresh boxes, then I make X amount of money from

[05:11] that. That is affiliate marketing because you are clicking on an affiliate link and I'm getting a kickback off whatever sales that I make from that link that you bought your product from. So continuing on, this is what an offer will look like, at least from my dashboard, when I get a sponsorship.

[05:26] It'll say, hey, Raid Shadow Legends. We all know that, right? So it'll say, stream this game on PC, reach goals, and earn up to $695. Oh, God. God damn, that's a lot of money. 96% of streamers your size and type successfully completed the goals.

[05:40] streamers usually complete this campaign within four hours i'm gonna be honest with you dog i got like 120 something followers and like two to four viewers at most if they're somehow completing this and they're doing it within four hours i'm i must be doing something completely wrong also come to

[05:54] my twitch twitch.tv slash this is wasabi with two i's come on by i'd love to see you there continuing on this is a campaign overview so once you sit there you click on it and say you know what i'm interested let me see what it has to offer it'll say campaign overview here's what it is a new

[06:07] player is identified as a viewer who has never played the game before on his pc slash mobile device and is using a creator unique link to reach their goal so the goal is to get new players to download the game on pc or mobile and reach level 15 get players to download on the game on pc or

[06:21] mobile and reach level 25 the campaign duration lasts for seven days and your requirements is one sponsored stream of at least four hours stream with raised shadow legends overlays visible keep bodge of the past stream live for at least seven days and a one sponsored social post

[06:36] So continue on and tell us what the requirements are. You need one sponsored stream of at least four hours Play the game on stream for at least two hours Include the exclamation mark raise command and then add it in the stream title Talking points to push towards goal sponsorship tools keep visible during an

[06:51] entire four hour stream, you need the event based alert widget, the chat bot, the panel banner, you got a lot of shit going on. Boy this started sounding like a lot of work right? Then the panel banner and chat bot command must remain active on the channel

[07:03] for three days after the sponsored stream, and then one sponsored social posts on preferred social media account twitter instagram to announce the partnership include sponsor or add and tag raid rpg in the post and then i can include my personalized link if i

[07:17] choose to do it so continue on it gives you some talking points it tells you pretty much what you do as a sponsorship you just say hey uh x game does all this cool shit come check it out you will love it it's a blast so here are your campaign goals this is to meet the crux of the entire

[07:32] sponsorship as a whole. Here's what you must need to be able to complete this campaign successfully and make your full amount of money. You need to promote Raid Shadow Legends for at least two hours, you need to stream with a chat command enabled for at least four hours, you need to stream with

[07:46] a branded overlay and custom widgets for at least four hours. On top of that, here's the most fucked up part. You need to get at least five viewers to perform Raid Shadow Legends level 15, so you need to reach your base goal of 75 bucks, and so you need at least five viewers to be able

[07:59] to play this game and get to level 15. That's how I'm doing it. I could be wrong, but I got it. There, you need to at least get two viewers to perform Rage Shadow Legends at level 25. So if they keep playing the game and they go above and beyond

[08:12] and they really enjoy the game, you can make an extra 70 bucks. Now, the way I'm doing these terms, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the way these terms work is you need to at least get five viewers for, let's say, base gold to at least get 75 bucks. If you do not meet the five out of five goal,

[08:27] then you don't get your 75 bucks. And the reason I say this is because from my hello, or the, what is it, Factor 75? It's like another food sponsorship. They have on their goals, you earn $30 for every subscription.

[08:40] So I'm assuming this is the way this will work. You get five viewers, you get your $75. If you don't get your five viewers, and then they all get to level 15, guess what, dog? You don't get any money from this whatsoever. And you just did free marketing for Raid Shadow Legends.

[08:54] How do you feel? And on top of that, you did it for four plus hours, basically. Yeah, if that doesn't scream you wasted your time and essentially you just did free marketing for a company that knew that you weren't really going to be able to do anything worthwhile for them, then I don't know what does.

[09:07] As I said earlier, this is not a sponsorship. If you are not guaranteed a lump sum of money for promoting a product, that is not a sponsorship. You are doing affiliate marketing in the hopes that you will get a kickback from whatever you promote.

[09:19] That is all it is. I hate seeing this term sponsorship get used because then to a lot of people, especially me when I was first starting, I'm like, oh shit, I got sponsored? Andy from Rain Shadow Legend? All the things that other YouTubers get? Wow, I must be finally making it.

[09:33] But then when you finally do a little bit of research and you think about it for a while, you're like, wait a second. Why would I promote this product for free if I'm not guaranteed any money in the end? That makes no sense. I got to stream for four plus hours. I need to have banners on.

[09:46] I got to do all this talking points. I got to promote the product. I got to say good things about it. But I'm not even guaranteed money at the end unless I meet some requirements where people click on affiliate link and then they play for so long they need to make it a level 15.

[10:00] And I need at least five people to do this before I can receive my base pay of 75 bucks I don really think that not like a sponsorship But StreamAlbert told me it was Basically what this is is risk marketing where the company does not have any risk at all for doing a sponsorship like this

[10:16] So you have let's say 20 or 30 people sign up. And a lot of them don't get viewers. They don't get people that watch them, click their affiliate links. They don't lose anything on the air because they weren't obligated to pay these streamers to promote their stuff.

[10:29] because they had it in their clause, you must reach base goal of five plus users that reach level 12 or 15, and then you get a $75 payout. That is the only time you get paid out. You do

[10:41] not get paid for promoting a product and go four plus hours and set up the panel. They don't have to pay for that. There's no risk to this because if you do meet their goals, cool, fine. All right, here's 75 bucks. Here's another 75. You get another five people, and it's chump change to

[10:57] That is straight, literal chump change to a company like Rage Shadow Legends or for like Factor 75. This is all easy, risk-free shit because they don't have to worry about paying you out in the end. If you actually do go through and you do the four plus hours and you promote the product, but you don't get any people to actually sign up.

[11:13] They don't have to worry about it because they got free marketing. They're like, hey, well, you didn't get anybody to sign up, but hey, at least you promoted it to like maybe your one or two friends that watched you. So in the end, they don't lose out on anything but just gain. Well, the only thing you lost was your time because you made no money off this.

[11:26] You were just used as a tool with the company already kind of having in the back of your mind that you weren't going to be able to get people to use that affiliate link or even meet the requirements to make it to level 15 in the game. They are a new owner. This is all calculated. This is all expected on their end.

[11:39] So you just did free marketing for them with nothing in return. Please don't do that. Please don't believe these are sponsorships. They are not. Now, I want to be clear. I'm not saying that this is a scam, but this is more of deceptive marketing in the hopes that new streamers or small streamers are going to go into the idea of, oh, sponsorship.

[11:56] Wow. and it's your stream elements oh they seem to have a pretty good reputation well why do i take this this is probably gonna be a good opportunity for me when in reality no it's not if you go into this and you understand that this is affiliate marketing and you understand what it really

[12:08] means that you need to promote a product and the hopes and the idea you're living on a whole field that people will click on the link and you will get kicked back from that then great there's nothing wrong with that but i just want to bring awareness for at least smaller new creators because i don't

[12:20] want them to waste their time this is not worth it you're better off just grow your community and your brand. Again, unless you know you have guaranteed people who will want to click on this and you know for sure you're going to meet those numbers because you got high viewer counts,

[12:33] don't do it. Please don't waste your time. It is not worth it, man. Again, build your community, build your following, build your presence. Use those four hours to make YouTube videos instead. But please don't waste your time on this, man. For what? So you can get chump change because you get

[12:48] one or two people maybe click on it and they maybe meet the requirements. It's not worth it, man. Wait until your channel gets bigger and you have a big enough following where these companies will reach out to you personally through your contact email and say, hey, we like what you do.

[13:01] We see the numbers that you pull. Here's X amount of money you promote our product. That is a real sponsorship. That is where you will actually make real money. Not promoting and stealing someone's product on your stream for X amount of hours and only in the hopes that maybe people click on your link and then you get a kickback out of it.

[13:18] That is not a sponsorship. and that's pretty much the entire point of this video and I wanted to really emphasize. Made this far into the video, consider giving it a like, subscribe to the channel, leave me a comment below what you think. Have a great day. Yeah.
