AI Summary

The video is a motivational talk by Monique (Moni) about the realities of making money online. She emphasizes that while it is possible to earn money online and work from anywhere, the internet often misrepresents the effort and time required. She shares personal anecdotes and a five-step framework to guide viewers toward success, stressing the importance of persistence, learning, and taking imperfect action.

[00:02]
The Internet's Lie

The internet doesn't lie about the possibility of making money online, but it lies about what it takes to get there. People only see the glamorous results, not the struggles and failures behind them.

[01:25]
The Journey vs. The Highlight Reel

People see the top with money but not the journey on the stairs. The speaker compares this to a cinematic shot of her on a monastery, hiding the fact that she slipped and fell on the way down.

[02:07]
Failure is Normal

The speaker emphasizes that she did not wake up overnight with success. She failed a lot, tried things that didn't work, and tested ideas that went nowhere. This is a normal part of the journey.

[02:32]
Willing to Look Stupid

Making money online is not about having a perfect idea, but about being willing to look stupid long enough to learn. It's about trying things that don't work and paying attention to the ones that do.

[02:47]
Stick to One Thing

Many people quit because they hop from thing to thing, trying something for a few days and then moving on. The problem is not that the things don't work, but that they don't work it long enough for results.

[03:40]
Step 1: Find One Way

Find one way to make money, online or offline. This could be creating a website or app, affiliate marketing, selling digital products, creating content, or e-commerce. Focus on one thing and give it a chance.

[05:27]
Step 2: Learn Just Enough to Start

You don't need a PhD. Some of the most successful people had no idea what they were doing at first. You will never be perfect, so the most important thing is to just start.

[06:06]
Step 3: Take Messy Action

Messy action means doing something whether you are scared, unsure, or feel prepared. You are okay with everything not being okay, but you still choose to post, build, launch, or sell. Beautiful things can come out of a mess.

[06:34]
Step 4: Pay Attention to Results

Focus on results, not opinions. Results can be quiet: one person clicking a link, one sale, one client, one email. That's the data and feedback you need.

[07:31]
Step 5: Improve One Thing at a Time

Work on improving one thing at a time, like making your hook better or pitching your offer more effectively. Consistency with one thing until it works is the blueprint.

[08:16]
The Cost of Freedom

You have to spend money to make money and invest time before seeing results. The speaker uses a coffee farm tour as an analogy: it takes 2 years from seed to table, and during that time, they make no money.

[09:10]
Stop Comparing

Stop letting highlight reels rush you and stop comparing your chapter one to someone else's chapter 20. If you are willing to fail, learn, and keep going, you will eventually become someone else's inspiration.

The video concludes with a powerful reminder that success online requires patience, persistence, and a willingness to embrace the messy middle. The speaker encourages viewers to focus on their own journey and not be swayed by the highlight reels of others.

[00:02] probably sitting there like, wait, hold on Moni, because guess what? You are on this good good internet and you have also told me that I can make money. But I need you to hear me when I say this clearly. Yes, you can make money online

[00:16] and yes, you can do it working from anywhere in the world. In fact, I am currently in Costa Rica as I am telling you this right now. And so if you see me start running, it's because I have some monkeys that are swinging in these trees

[00:30] above my head. But what the internet lied about is not that you can actually do it. They lied about what it takes to get there. Because all you ever see other drone shots, you see the laptops with the beaches, you see that I made

[00:44] 10K in a day, you see that try this, this is easy. But nobody's out here showing you the in between and I know this first hand. So let me give you the realest example. I was just recently in Petra and you may see the clip of me

[00:58] standing on top of the monastery, wind blowing, dress flowing, it was all cinematic. But what you won't see is when I was coming down from on top of that building and I started walking down that mountain, down those stairs, I

[01:12] ended up slipping and falling. So from that first shot, you would never know when you try to get your content. [music] You got to get it by any means necessary. And making money online is the exact same way. Why? Because you see

[01:25] the top with the money, but you do not see the journey on the stairs. Look right now, I know that everyone just wants the results and if that's the only why wouldn't you? But something you really need to know about is the trial

[01:38] people that's out here launching a product and then it flopping. Nobody posting for months and only getting five likes. Nobody's talking about spending business and it's not working. Even about sitting there 2:00 a.m. in the

[01:54] morning wondering if you are crazy or have lost your entire mind trying to I really want to be honest with you because you really need to know the truth about this. And one thing I did not do was wake up overnight and

[02:07] magically have success online. One thing Mo Nee did is failed a lot. And yes, I sometimes you got to go there. But I tried things that didn't work. I tested ideas that went nowhere and I built

[02:20] what? All of that is normal and a lot of the story and they'll have you out here thinking that you are crazy, that you are doing absolutely everything wrong.

[02:32] know. Making money online is not about having a perfect idea, but it is about willing to look stupid long enough to learn. It's about trying the things that don't work and paying attention to the ones that do. And I said things, but let

[02:47] me go ahead on and erase that S. Why? Because it's not working on 10, five, one. And that's one of the reasons that a lot of people quit because of the fact that they end up hopping from thing to thing.

[03:00] They try something for two, three, four days and it don't work. Guess what? They onto the next thing. But the thing is, it is not that these things are not working, it's that you are not even working it long enough for it to give

[03:14] you some results. And I know at this point you are probably feeling a little encouraged, but I'm telling you motivation and encouragement won't get day you'll end up back in the same place. So I don't want to just give you

[03:27] information, I want this to lead to transformation. [music] And so I know you are wondering, all right Monique, that's all cute, but what do I actually do? And let me make this simple for you because this is the starting point. Step

[03:40] one is going to be for you to [music] find one way for you to make money. And it can be online or oh. And again, I am going to stress one way. Give it a chance, yo. But that one way can be creating a website or an app. You can do

[03:55] affiliate marketing, something that's doing really well right now that a lot of people are seeing success with is selling digital products online. And experience, a lesson that you learn. I talked about that recently, so I'll plug

[04:09] a video down in the description if you need a little bit more detail about how you can turn your knowledge into a product. But your one thing can also be creating content. People are out here making a lot of

[04:22] this personally, so believe me when I say it. And another thing that people are having success with is e-commerce. And a lot of people like to throw the word saturation around out there. It's all saturated, too many people in it.

[04:35] But as many people that may be creating content or selling things online, there's only one you, and nobody can do it the way that you can. Everybody has their own particular audience. So don't focus on all of the other people out

[04:48] there, just focus on what you can bring to the table. And then you want to make sure that you are picking something that you will want to pour your time and energy into. And I say that because a lot of times you may wake up and not

[05:01] zeros may be on the end of that check. Even today, I still don't feel like need something that you will be able to push through with. And unfortunately, Monique will not be able to pick that for you, but I can show you what's out

[05:15] there. And that's why I actually bring so much variety to this channel because this thing is not really one size fits all. What works for me may not work for for Sue. But once you do get that one

[05:27] thing, step two is going to be to learn just enough to start. You don't have to go out here and get a PhD in this. Some of the most successful people had absolutely no idea what they were doing when they first started. And honestly,

[05:41] as much as we try to be perfect with some of these things, the truth is you will never be perfect because there's always going to be something that you can improve in. Things are always changing. We evolve over time. There are

[05:53] new methods that are produced. So, the most important thing out of all of that is just to start. And then step three is going to be to take messy action. What is messy action, Monique? I am so glad you are full of questions today. Messy

[06:06] action means that you are going to do something whether you are scared, whether you are unsure, and whether you feel prepared or not, you're still going to do it anyway. At this point, you are okay with everything not being okay. You

[06:19] are still choosing to post it, to build it, to launch it, to sell it. Just do it. Even if it's ugly or even if you have to just stutter your way on through some beautiful things can come out of a mess. And again, I know that firsthand.

[06:34] And step four is going to be once you are in this thing, to pay attention to what gets results. We are not worried about people's opinions because opinions don't pay bills. We want to see the results. And let me tell you what

[06:46] results actually look like because for some of us, we've created this idea of results to where we have to be getting $10,000 in a day and that won't be what not in the beginning. But sometimes results are quiet. Sometimes results are

[07:02] one person clicking on that link, one person buying your product, one person reading your message, even asking you how did you do it? Somebody booking your service. That's a result. It doesn't have to be thousands of people. It's one

[07:17] sale, one client, one email. That's the data. That's the feedback that we are looking for. And that's another monkey swinging in the tree. All right. I'm message up because I'm going to let them have their environment. I stepped into

[07:31] their world. So, y'all got it. Give me a second. So, step number five is going to be to improve one thing at a time. So, if you are out here creating videos, then just work on maybe making your hook better so that you can get people to

[07:44] watch that video longer. If you have an offer that you have, maybe you want to work on how you pitch it to people, how you get it to connect to people and not feel so salesy, but you want to work on something constantly and then you just

[08:00] blueprint. It's not magic. It's just being consistent with one thing until it works. Now, let me say this part clearly because a lot of people tend to miss sure you don't miss it. This life that we are living is about taking risks. You

[08:16] [music] You are going to have to spend money to make money. Ouch, I know that part hurt, but you will have to invest time before you see results. And I'm going to tell you something. I went on a coffee farm tour out here in Costa Rica

[08:31] and it really opened up my eyes because on this tour, they showed how they take that one seed and in order to get it to the table, which is the final product, it is a 2-year process. And in those 2 years, guess what's not happening? They

[08:45] are not making any money. All right, Monique, you're talking about some coffee, some beans, and some bugs. What is the point? The point is that it takes time to reach the results that we are looking for sometimes. I'm telling you

[08:58] this is the cost of freedom. So, listen, stop letting highlight reels rush you. Stop letting other people put their timelines on you and pressure you. Stop

[09:10] comparing your chapter one to somebody else's chapter 20. I know that we are in this time where everything looks flashy and nice and it's cute on this internet, but believe me when I say there's more to the story and I'm really trying to

[09:23] willing to fail, if you are willing to learn, if you are willing to keep going although it feels uncomfortable, then one day you'll be somebody else's the climb that it took for you to get there. I hope that this helps you out. I

[09:39] hope that you really understand all that it takes on this journey, not just the end result, but the actual in between. But, other than that, I thank you so until next time. Go be great, because

[09:52] I'm going to get out here because these monkeys want their porch back.
