[00:32] why yes and why no. Channel memberships, Super Thanks, Super Chat, [music] and Super Stickers have had the eligibility requirements to access them reduced to 500 subscribers and [music] 3,000 watch hours for long

[00:46] form videos in a one-year period and 3 million views for YouTube [music] shots in 3 months. Once a creator applies [music] for monetization after achieving these and following YouTube community guidelines,

[01:00] he or she is accepted into [music] the YouTube partner program partially and automatically after reaching [music] 4,000 watch hours in 1 year or 10 million views on YouTube [music] shots in 3 months. When I say one year, I mean

[01:16] the hours accumulated should not be [music] exceeding a year. This sounds earn revenue from YouTube and [music] once you get accepted, the joy is too much. But what if I told you the hustle just begins from there? Would you agree?

[01:31] [music] Listen, of recent I turned off my channel membership and super thanks feature which would help me earn extra income on YouTube. I know you might be thinking [music] I am crazy and I don't want to utilize the opportunity to earn

[01:44] from YouTube. But listen to my side. If you are a YouTuber, you need to have a community of trusted followers, whether 100 or 200 subscribers and many more. community, [music] your earning potential reduces. I have

[02:00] had one channel member on membership for the past 6 months or more that I opened up channel membership [music] to the public. Until the time I turned off the feature and his money for the last subscription was refunded. This implies

[02:12] that I was barely making money from channel membership. [music] Super thanks have also been on but I have never received any revenue from it and [music] this is why I turned it off. When I was building my YouTube channel for

[02:24] monetization eligibility [music] I made a number of shots and a half of my subscribers I actually gained them from YouTube shots. These were casual viewers who actually subscribed casually too. Out of over 7.5k subscribers I have on

[02:39] YouTube. [music] I didn't build a close engagement with them. meaning they cannot easily support me when I call on. The ones I am engaged with closely are mostly young people who can't help financially but [music] need inspiration

[02:51] from me on the desires they follow. You can have 500 subscribers who are loyal and engaged to you. And if you introduce channel membership, you can get even close to 100 of them joining, but at the same time you can have 100,000

[03:04] subscribers and fail to get even one subscriber to join your channel membership. Super thanks are also features on each video you upload as a YouTube partner, but chances are too [music] high no one will tip you for

[03:17] each video you upload unless you have a very engaging community. [music] What does this call for? Be an authentic creator and build an authentic community [music] where everything you say they wish to follow it. Another hack I

[03:31] discovered is also you should have videos that favor all the people of 45 always too willing to appreciate your effort financially. Most especially if you are a young creator who is able to please them. Since I am yet [music] to

[03:46] followers, I decided to turn off channel membership and super thanks. I left super stickers because during live streams I can engage with the audience give a tip for their comments to be highlighted and look different from

[04:02] others and of course a shout out from the creator. But it is not guaranteed. [music] If you don't have an engaging community of followers, you can even likes, no one comments in months. [music] That's what happened to me too.

[04:16] But it's not the fault of the subscribers. It's the creator to look for a way forward to solve this problem. I recently [music] started a campaign to Christmas store in Fort Porto [music] City. I could share on my community page

[04:30] and for weeks I didn't get any positive response. I was forced to announce the cancellation of the event early before I get disappointed while keeping on having [music] hope that people will donate and yet the donations might never come. All

[04:43] these are caused by lacking an engaging community. [music] So creators who have to fight hard. You rather have few subscribers who engage closely with you and are willing to support all your efforts but not many followers who can't

[04:55] engage closely and support you. After all nowadays [music] the YouTube algorithm recommends videos to people watch similar videos as yours. You can have few subscribers and surprisingly your videos get exposed [music] to many

[05:07] viewers. You can as well have a million subscribers and your latest video fails to hit [music] even 10,000 views. YouTube has completely changed. Gone are guaranteed many views for each video upload. It's time to get a feedback from
