How to Build a Customer Base

Offer something valuable (discount, free PDF) in exchange for contact info. Then segment customers (loyal, new, etc.) and send personalized campaigns.

[06:19]
Email Marketing Tools

Tools like Klaviyo, Mailchimp, and ConvertKit help leverage email marketing effectively.

[06:35]
Brands as Creators

Successful brands treat themselves as creators, producing free content to build trust. People trust real people, not faceless companies.

[07:04]
How to Market Like a Person

Don't sell directly; educate and motivate. Use faces, not logos. Work with micro-influencers for targeted credibility.

[08:17]
TikTok and Instagram as Search Engines

Younger generations use TikTok and Instagram to search for products. TikTok has added search ads, making keyword optimization essential.

[09:27]
WhatsApp Marketing

WhatsApp is used by over 90% of people in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf but is underutilized. It can be a smart, automated marketing channel.

[09:55]
Three WhatsApp Strategies

1) Automated cart abandonment reminders with discount codes. 2) Use WhatsApp catalog for less tech-savvy customers. 3) Automate welcome messages and catalog sending.

[11:17]
Short Videos Are Essential

People are bombarded with 3,000+ ads daily; short videos (reels, shorts) deliver messages quickly. The hook in the first 3 seconds is critical.

[12:00]
AI-Powered Ads

Google Performance Max and Meta Advantage use AI to test and optimize ads automatically, but they require pixel data and previous customer information to work effectively.

To succeed in 2026, marketers must embrace AI, build owned customer databases, and adopt creator-led, personalized strategies. Adapting to these seven changes is essential for survival in the evolving digital landscape.

12:00

[00:02] run ads: if you have an online store and run paid ads on it, or even ads for other clients' stores, you run an ad, and days go by, and the results are

[00:16] unsatisfactory, and there are no sales. You start to worry because you're spending money daily—$300 or $400 a day, whether it's your own money or other people's. So you start to get scared and anxious, and you do the same thing you were doing before with the ad, waiting for different results. Then you ask yourself, "Am I doing something

[00:30] wrong? Is the product unsuccessful? What's the problem here?" Let me tell you the current reality: artificial intelligence has taken over, people's attention spans are decreasing, platforms are changing

[00:44] their algorithms dramatically, and even the target market is changing from what it used to be. Brands that don't evolve and keep up with this change will simply disappear. But the good news is, I'll summarize all these changes for you in the seven most dangerous changes I've seen in digital marketing right now.

[01:01] And all of this is based on data from more than 1200 marketers around the world from the global HubSpot website. And I tell you, if you watch the video to the end, you will see marketing in a different light, and you will also be the video to the end, you will see marketing in a different light, and you will also be

[01:18] changed the rules of the game. It no longer just writes content for today; it can create a complete marketing strategy for you, launch complete campaigns for you, and improve them periodically on its own. There are even tools that improve them periodically on its own. There are even tools that will save us a lot of time and a lot of effort, so

[01:33] we advance in our campaigns and our work in marketing through artificial intelligence. And those who do not take advantage of artificial intelligence in the current era will be ahead of what? Okay, so how can we actually use artificial intelligence in digital marketing? There are three very important options where we can utilize

[01:48] AI. First, creating marketing content, whether it's text-based content using ChatGBT, or even design. You can create designs using CanvaPai, or even AI-powered videos using InVideo. This will

[02:05] save you a lot of time and effort, and you can add a new style and a fresh touch using AI. It can even help with advertising content. For example, you can create an ad on Google and ask it for, say, 30 headlines. It will give you

[02:20] ideas, stories, secrets, anything you want. Second, you can benefit from it by having it create a marketing plan for you from scratch, giving you up to 80% of it, and then you can complete the rest. So instead of thinking, "How do I create discounts? How do I run a Ramadan campaign? I need a

[02:36] marketing strategy, for example, how do I analyze competitors?" you don't even have a starting point. So, let AI help you. For example, give me a 30-day content plan for a perfume and incense store, specifying the target audience as being from a particular country, and my budget, and so on. It will start by giving you

[02:51] ideas and a basic template. You can then modify it from there, fine-tune it, and add your own human touch, which is essential. But you won't start from scratch; it will give you the foundations, and you'll build on that from there. Thirdly, you should make decisions based on

[03:07] real data. We all work with Google Ads or Snapchat Ads and have Google Analytics and such, but many don't utilize the data available. They don't, for example, use data on which pages are most visited, what the average time each person spends on a page is, which page customers always leave, the

[03:23] impact of purchases based or a phone, or whether they use a Mac or Samsung. There's so much data available, we might not even have it. It takes

[03:35] enough time for us to do all this data analysis. We might need to hire a data analyst, for example, or outsource the service. But why go through all that? We can do it with the click of a button. We can take the entire Excel file of these analyses from Analytics, for example, or even from Google Ads or

[03:50] Snapchat Ads, and give it to ChatGPT. I tell them, "This is a campaign I ran on [store name] with [budget name], and I want you to analyze everything." Then it starts them, "This is a campaign I ran on [store name] with [budget name], and I want you to analyze everything." Then it starts tells you, "Modify the title. Make it very specific in this way. This category won't be

[04:05] suitable for you, so stop advertising it. Focus on that one. That one got better results for that category, or that one's ad growth." It gives you decisions, analyzing the entire file in less than five seconds. This is regarding artificial intelligence. And the second

[04:19] very important change that has become crucial recently is that email and customer data have become more important than the ads themselves. Let's be Good for everyone. Every year, advertising gets more expensive, and every day people's attention is decreasing, and trust with customers is decreasing with the abundance of brands,

[04:34] celebrities, and so on. So, in the past, you could pay 100 riyals and get 10 customers without any problem, but now, how many customers can you get with 100? Barely two or three at most. So, what's the solution? The solution is not to rely solely on advertising. We need to build our own database: emails, phone numbers,

[04:51] WhatsApp, Telegram – anything. We need to collect customer data so we can contact them personally whenever and wherever we want, at no cost. These are real assets you can own: a These are real assets you can own: a huge database that allows you to reach them

[05:06] regardless of anything else. So, how do you actually start building your own customer base? First, offer something worthwhile that people will give you their data for. You could offer a 10% discount for subscribing via email, or give them a free PDF brochure if they enter their email address. You could also

[05:21] offer them more technical support or more advice, especially if they're in a WhatsApp or Telegram group with the latest offers, and so on. The idea is to offer them something free to get their number or email in return. Then, the second

[05:36] step is to filter these customers. Never treat all customers the same way. For example, some customers have already purchased from you. There are customers who haven't bought from you, and there are customers who have bought more than three times. These are the loyal customers. There are people in a particular city who prefer a certain category, so there will be

[05:51] many categories that you need to filter. The third step is to send advertising campaigns to these different groups. For example, people who have bought from me more than three times are loyal customers. Ask them to evaluate those who haven't bought from me at all. Ask them what the problem is. You can offer them something

[06:06] Ask them what the problem is. You can offer them something free, a 10% discount, or a buy-one-get-one-free offer. The idea is to address each group personally, not to send a general message to everyone. This will give you a higher conversion rate, higher sales, and a higher percentage of people who clicked on the email and viewed it. There are

[06:19] several tools that help you leverage email marketing, such as Clavio, MeltShamp, or even Convertal. And the third important thing is that a very big change has happened recently: successful brands have started to treat themselves as creators. Content is essential because, as we said,

[06:35] advertising alone is not enough. People want to know about you before they even buy from you. So, know about you before they even buy from you. So, these companies have to create content and offer free content to people. People nowadays don't trust brands where they don't

[06:48] know who's behind the brand, what their story is, or who the people are behind it. They only trust the real person who appears on social media, talks, gives information, discusses, and engages in dialogue. So, simply put, this means that you shouldn't market like a company; market like a person. People like to

[07:04] communicate with a person like themselves, not with a company. They don't know who's behind the company, who it belongs to, and so on. So, how do you apply these things? First, don't sell directly. Try to motivate, educate, and give people experience before telling them to buy. You could film your product and tell them about the problems it

[07:20] solves, for example, or tell a story about the product. Consequently, people will get closer to you and feel that there is a relationship. There's a personal connection between you and them, and another important thing: use faces, not logos. People now prefer to see real people, not repetitive designs, music, and videos with the same

[07:36] idea. This will build trust and make people feel like they're dealing with real people, not ads or brands. A third, equally important thing is to work with micro- influencers. Some influencers have relatively small followings, but

[07:50] their audience is targeted at a specific customer segment. you ask them to create a video, like a UGC, about your product, tell a story, or

[08:02] try it for a month and then share their experience, this will give a huge boost of credibility and start to move customers emotionally. This will, God willing, increase your sales. Before we continue, I hope you'll support me with a like and subscribe to the channel. I'd be very happy and grateful. And a fourth point, which might surprise you, is that if you ask

[08:17] anyone less than... For 23 years, when you're looking for a new product, whether it's a watch, glasses, or clothes, where do you look? Most people won't tell you they'll go to Google to type in clothes, t- shirts, or sweaters. Instead, they'll tell you to search on TikTok and see what people are doing and what they're

[08:32] offering. Or they might go to Instagram and Reels to see the latest fashion trends and things like that. This is especially true for girls, as a very large percentage of the new generation now use TikTok and Instagram as search engines. TikTok itself recently

[08:46] added a search ads feature, so you can target specific keywords in your ads and appear when someone searches for those same keywords, just like on Google. The only difference is that this will be videos. This is a very important indicator that we should also focus on ranking high in

[09:02] TikTok and Instagram search engines. We need to include keywords, write descriptions, and use relevant hashtags. If you want to know the most important keywords... For your niche, simply go to TikTok and type your keyword into the search bar. For example, type "

[09:15] For example, type " clothes," "men's," "women's," "children's," "baby clothes," "men's," "women's," "children's," "baby clothes," "clothes." There are so many keywords, and TikTok suggests these because they are the most searched. You can

[09:27] also use them in your content. The fifth marketing tip is about an application that most marketers neglect, even though it is used by more than 90% of the text in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. That application is WhatsApp. People open WhatsApp dozens of times a day, and there is almost no

[09:42] message or logo. But the strange thing is that many merchants do not utilize it except for customer service. They say it can turn into a smart, automated marketing channel, similar to the email marketing idea we talked about earlier. So let me share with you three ways you can use

[09:55] WhatsApp marketing and increase your sales. The first way is to create a series of reminder messages for people who have left their cart. So, anyone who added to the cart but did not buy will be involved with you.

[10:07] In this system, you start sending multiple messages. For example, one message after 24 hours, another if they haven't bought anything after seven days, and a third message maybe after 30 days, or even at the end of the month when payday arrives. Each of these messages includes a different discount code. The idea behind the

[10:23] discount code isn't to give them a bigger discount (it could be the same discount), but rather to see which message convinced them to buy. Another great method on WhatsApp is the WhatsApp catalog. Many people, especially the elderly or those in

[10:37] remote areas, don't have extensive technology and might be hesitant to visit websites or use their cards. To solve this problem, instead of telling them to go to the catalog link. They can then choose the products they want and send you their location—it might be just a click away, and everything will be perfect.

[10:53] And the third thing, to make things easier, is to complete the process. For example, you could create an automatic welcome message as soon as someone sends you a message. Then, if they choose a product, you could automatically send them a catalog. You

[11:17] all of this using tools like Karazon and Cartat. The Cartat. The sixth tip is that short videos have become essential. Most of us are bombarded with over 3,000 ads a day—mobile ads, TV ads,

[11:31] laptop ads, street ads, billboard ads—all of which have weakened people's attention and increased their distraction. The mind can only process maybe 5% of all these ads; the rest is ignored without even realizing it. The solution is short videos, reels, or

[11:46] shorts, because they are designed to deliver the message as quickly as possible. So, how do you use short videos correctly? One thing to focus on is the hook in the first three seconds. If you can capture the customer's attention in those first three seconds, they will likely continue watching, God willing,

[12:00] until the end of the video. My seventh piece of advice is to use artificial intelligence in advertising. Currently, there are some amazing tools and some of the most powerful types of ads, such as Google Performance Max or even Meta Advantage. These ads work with artificial intelligence. You give them all the

[12:15] input, and they automatically determine what's best and show it to the right person, the right demographic, and so on. Google Performance Max and Meta Advantage are among the most powerful AI ads currently available. They AI ads currently available. They

[12:30] artificial intelligence. You give them all the input— content, images, videos—and they test everything: the audience, the cities, the ads themselves, the images, the videos, even the ad placement. They

[12:42] test everything and bring you the best results. These methods help you achieve the highest efficiency for your ads. But be careful, they don't work in a vacuum. They only work after you provide them with information and data about your location. The store is pixel-based, so you have previous visits and

[12:58] purchases. It starts to understand the platform, identifying your customers who buy, those who don't, and those who only visit once and then disappear for a long time. Having all these things available will give you the best results and increase your sales. In conclusion, if you're interested in

[13:12] learning more about digital marketing, I'll post a video explaining how to create a marketing plan for your online store. You can also get a free sample plan. If you have any questions, write them in the comments section below. God willing, I'll answer everyone. We would be very grateful for

[13:25] your support with a like and subscribe to the channel. Thank you, thank you, thank you for watching, and I'll see you in the for watching, and I'll see you in the next video. Yeah.
