A Failed YouTuber's Rant: 13 Years of YouTube and Nothing...

[00:03] this video, I'm going to do something like a podcast, I'm going to vent about all my experiences on YouTube, which are

[00:15] many, right? My first channel was created in 2011, so it's been 13 years that I've been making videos for YouTube, and in this video I'm going to talk about some of my video I'm going to talk about some of my failures, some of my mistakes. The

[00:30] main thing here isn't to complain, not at all, because I love everything I do, everything I continue to do, this whole thing too, I continue to do, this whole thing too, I love it very much, and it's more for you to see

[01:13] 9 or 10 year old kid who followed these players a lot, and my dream was to be a YouTuber like them, and Monark was the person I followed the most. Venom and I even created my channel inspired

[01:27] by them. My first channel I created was in 2011. Monar's channel was created in 2010, Randoms Place. I know you guys are from that era, but why am I talking about this? Because my first channel was very early, it was at the very beginning, right? In 2011,

[01:42] early, it was at the very beginning, right? In 2011, I didn't have a computer that could handle playing Minecraft. I mean, I could play, but everything was laggy, everything was frozen, play, but everything was laggy, everything was frozen, and much less record gameplay. So what did

[01:56] I do on my channel? I made tutorials. My first video on my channel back in 2011 was how to download Minecraft for free. Nowadays you can't even post that kind of video on YouTube anymore, right? But it's even private nowadays. It

[02:09] 's a channel that I later transformed into a Dark channel, and I continued making tutorials, and I also started making videos of computer games, a specific game which was Aqua Adventure Cast World, right? And I

[02:26] Aqua Adventure Cast World, right? And I made videos teaching people how to play the game, how to do missions, quests, and so on, because it was the only thing I could do. But there was a... The moment I really hit the mark on this

[02:40] channel, I really hit it hard. I created the channel in 2011, and in channel in 2011, and in 2012, man, I had, I don't know, like 600 or 800 subscribers. And then I had a brilliant idea... For those who were around back then,

[02:55] you'll probably remember the Minecraft songs by Captain T Sparkles, who still posts videos today, right? He had a song by Creeper Creeper, All Man, and three really great

[03:09] songs. There was also one by TNT that was a Minecraft song. So what I did was, I thought, "Man, I'm going to post these songs on my channel too." So what did I do? I made a video called "The Three Most Famous

[03:23] Minecraft Songs," and it was basically the three songs by Captain Sparkles. I knew I couldn't post them, you know? Like, how can I say, post, monetize, that kind of thing? I knew it was wrong, right? I knew. And then I posted it, and I kind of reserved all the

[03:38] was his, and so on. But the video was very simple; I basically downloaded... I combined his three videos and three songs into one video and posted it in 2012. Man, the video blew up at the time. It was hitting, I don't know,

[03:54] 100,000 views, and back then, 100,000 views for an 11 or 12-year-old was absurd, and not just for a child, for anyone to post a video and get 200,000 views is absurd, even if it's not yours, right?

[04:07] Regardless, but anyway, I posted that video. And that's where my imagining that my first mistake was posting other people's videos. Worse than that, no, that wasn't the mistake. What happens is that those who were around back then know there were

[04:21] n't these requirements to monetize; there were networks, there was monetize; there were networks, there was Machinima, Full Screen, TGN, Felipe Neto owned ParaMaker, and there were several others. And you had to be

[04:37] invited by this network to make money, to monetize your channel. There were other ways too, with YouTube itself, where you could go to Google AdSense and receive money in dollars. It was like, like, people

[04:51] would send dollars in letters to your address. There was also PayPal, but it was why, but it wasn't worth it, so everyone opted to join these networking programs. And that's when my channel happened. It was almost hitting 10,000 subscribers just

[05:06] because of that video, and I was a kid, like, "Oh my God, I'm going to be famous, I don't know what, so my God, I'm going to be famous, I don't know what, so happy, so happy, man, so happy!" In less than a year of my channel, it was like my channel was exploding, it was

[05:18] my channel was exploding, it was absurd! know if you know this too, but back in the day on YouTube there was a chat, a

[05:32] chat like Instagram, you could send messages to other channels. And then send messages to other channels. And then a recruiter from TGN, TGN was a network, it was purple, sent me a message saying that I qualified to

[05:46] join their partnership program, to join their networking. Wow, man, I was so happy, I'm going to make money like crazy, so fast, so soon! And man, think about it, it was 2012, 2012,

[06:00] 2012, 2012, like, absurd, but okay. Okay, so guy in English, all in English. He said he was going to recruit me for English. He said he was going to recruit me for his networking, and that was fine. Then he said

[06:13] he only had one problem with my channel: I had a video with copyright issues, this one about the three most famous Minecraft songs three most famous Minecraft songs in the world, something like that, the title.

[06:26] He said I had to delete the video. So, I said, " Oh, okay, it's not mine anyway, I 'll join the networking at least, right? Thanks for the price." So I went and deleted the

[06:40] video, and then the guy never answered me again, someone. Okay, I trusted a person. This mistake of

[06:56] trusting people is n't limited to YouTube for me. I trusted people in real life too, right? So here was my first mistake on YouTube. I trusted someone and I deleted my video that

[07:09] could have, I don't know, made my channel reach 100,000 subscribers way back then. It 100,000 subscribers way back then. It 's funny, right? Very my mistakes. This is just the first one, okay? So my first mistake was

[07:23] trusting. In someone, but like, the guy isn't wrong. My channel was really bad, like, I was a kid. I was doing little tutorials and views wasn't even mine, so it didn't make sense. But man, why? Why? Did

[07:38] mine, so it didn't make sense. But man, why? Why? Did views were coming from that video? I don't know, I don't know. And his profile was like, really, a TGN person? I don't think it was someone from TGN,

[07:51] I think it was, but it's okay, life goes on. But I was very, very, very sad, very sad. It was tense, it was sad. Okay, okay,

[08:06] that was the first one. I was very early on. Let me even get my coffee here, it hurts Let me even get my coffee here, it hurts think it's very funny, but I learned early on, more or less, that I continued to

[08:20] trust people, but in other ways. Okay, so the first mistake was that. The second mistake was a constant mistake, it was from 2012 to 2020,

[08:33] which was the mistake of not continuing to produce content. Why didn't I make content? Imagine if I had continued to make content. From 2011 until today, man, it's absurd, right? But I couldn't do it. First, my PC was

[08:47] crap, it took me too long, my PC was crap, my internet was crap, and I was a simple kid and I didn't have much time. I had to study, you know? I had to go to school, and the time I spent producing

[09:00] content was mostly during vacations. So I was stuck in that situation. I made videos in that situation. I made videos in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017. I stopped when I started college, and the last video

[09:13] I posted was in 2017. But I stopped posting videos to study, and even then I did poorly in school, you know? So that was my second mistake, like not continuing. It wasn't even a

[09:28] I didn't have much to do, I had to pass school, you know? And videos I wanted. I wanted to play Minecraft, man, I wanted to play Minecraft and record Minecraft, but I couldn't because the PC was crap, and to

[09:43] upload them I had to do it in the middle of the night. I used to upload directly from Cantasia Studio, right? I don't know if you know, but it's like CapCut; you can upload the video directly from CapCut. Cantasia also had that feature, you could upload directly from

[09:57] Cantasia, and it was very slow and kept giving errors. I thought, "It's crap." But okay, okay, life goes on. So, my second mistake was... well, I on. So, my second mistake was... well, I

[10:11] error was not being able to continue. It's like, it wasn't not continuing, it was not being able to. channel... oh, my first channel... my first videos on that channel were tutorials. I even made Photoshop tutorials, man, how to download

[10:26] textures in Minecraft, CFT, all kinds of tutorials. Then I started making some games, recording some games, and then I made a channel like "Você Sabia" (Did You Know?) back in 2014 and 2015. In January 2015,

[10:44] I started "Os Curiosos" (The Curious Ones), oh, cool name, right? " Os Curiosos," which was a channel totally inspired by "Você Sabia." It was still in its early stages, when they your city, they used to make videos

[10:57] with a split screen, right? It was really good, it wasn't what it is today, right? So I had that channel, then I had another channel called " Being Me," which was like Mr. Polado Full, full of crazy editing,

[11:13] editing, 2017, I made some little League of Legends videos, I also made Battlefield videos, and Play

[11:25] for Free, which was the only game that ran on my PC. Man, I always had place, I lived in Campinas, right? But I lived in a place very far from civilization, and there was no signal there, it was only radio internet. It rained, it went down, and when it

[11:42] did work, it was terrible, you know? I had those modem internet connections, you know, with limits like 4G and 5G, but much worse, right? Back then there wasn't even 4G. It was awful. Then one time

[11:55] fiber optic arrived at my house, and I remember I put on a 4K video to watch for the first time, and I couldn't watch it because the PC couldn't handle the video. 4K, the internet could handle it but the PC couldn't. I thought, "Wow, man, you

[12:08] need a good PC to watch 4K videos!" Interesting, right? I discovered this on the first day I had Boom internet at home. But anyway, okay. So, it was these channels, and that's where it starts. Look, I only mentioned two mistakes, but

[12:22] now we're going to see many, many. Why did I only make two mistakes? Because it was only two mistakes. There were few mistakes throughout this whole period from 2011 to 2017, 2020. There were few mistakes, but why? Because I didn't continue, you understand? I stopped all the time. But then in

[12:39] 2020 I started seriously. I started working with YouTube as an entrepreneur. I had discovered what entrepreneurship was. So I started focusing on YouTube as if it were a real company. So that's where

[12:55] the video starts, guys. That's where the video starts. The mistake was wanting to do... no, wait, I can't say that yet, let's go. In 2020 I created "Bora Pra Prática" (Let's Go to Practice), and what was the idea behind

[13:07] What was the idea? The idea behind "Bora Pra Prática" was to document my entrepreneurial life, what I was making and selling wall-glued wall art, you know, MDF boards, that was the idea behind " Bora Pra Prática": to document my

[13:24] way? I wanted to open a tapioca stand on iFood. And then I discovered it would be a huge hassle, it would cost a lot of money, and it was a very uncertain business. I chose the tapioca stand because I sold tapioca at school, I really like

[13:36] tapioca, I could easily live off tapioca, which is what happened for a few years of my life, eating tapioca every day, for lunch and dinner. It was after the tapioca stand that I realized it wasn't going to work, it wouldn't work. So what did

[13:52] good at YouTube!" The only thing I did for a long time was watch YouTube videos and make YouTube videos. So what was I going to do? I was going to open a company and create YouTube channels. So what did I do? I opened a

[14:05] Dark channel, a cutting channel. It was from Valorant, which is Vel Croc Valorant, Valorant, which is Vel Croc Valorant, if you go there you'll find it, and I created it in if you go there you'll find it, and I created it in 2020, I think it was the end of

[14:18] October 2020, I created Vel Company. And then Vel Company created Vel Croc Val, which was my channel. Back in 2011 I just started posting videos there, and that's it, I created that channel and two months later I created Cortes Bilionários (Billionaire Cuts), I do

[14:32] Cortes Bilionários, it was a podcast channel with people talking investment, and vice versa. And what's the point here?

[14:45] I was doing something really good because in two months I had monetized VCX Valorent and in four months I monetized Cortes Bilionários, but I monetized Cortes Bilionários in an absurd way. I

[14:57] remember it took months to monetize, we posted four times a day, and when we monetized, man, we did... More or less R$1,000 per day, like in 50 days that was R$ 50,000. Okay, and here's a mistake,

[15:13] another mistake that happened when it monetized. I thought, "Damn, I think I really know how to do this!" And then what I did after it monetized and gave me a ton of money was, I wanted to open several other channels. I opened a channel

[15:29] Cords Pilonar, but with a different image, you know, a different design. Cords Bros was green, Cords Bros was yellow, and Quart Six was green. That was the difference. I opened Quart Six, I opened Vel Carts, which was

[15:45] also a Valorant Ali channel, but with shorter cuts. And I remember that I opened wanted to open several channels instead of just focusing on Carts Billionaire or just focusing on Vcrx Valent. I thought, "Wow, I'm too good, I'm going to do this again!" So that

[16:00] was my mistake. Like, I was getting one thing right, so I'm going to do other things the same way. I wouldn't do that today. Okay, I wouldn't do that today. I would only focus on these channels that I'm running, and that's it. So this was my third

[16:13] mistake. It blew up, you got all happy and you're going to want to open several other happy and you're going to want to open several other channels. Screw that, screw that. Fourth mistake, which also has to do with when we made the money there, I said, "Man, I need people. I'm going to

[16:28] hire a lot of people." I remember I hired 10 people, and I already had about four people helping me, right? That's right, 10 people. I

[16:40] called 10 people in to go to the rich rooms, to V Croc Valon, to the billionaire rooms, to the Velcro. Let's put it into practice here into practice here too. So don't do that. Try to

[16:52] do it with the minimum number of people. You know, that "One Person One Person Business" thing, the thing. One person only, it doesn't have to be just one person, right? I think about three people can handle some channels. Okay, the idea is... Oh, you're going to keep

[17:06] making strange noises here, don't do that, don't do that, go lie down there, handsome. So I even lost track of mine. The mistake was wanting to hire a lot of people, and then comes the fifth mistake,

[17:22] which also connects... Let me see if I'm right here. Yeah, man, it's one mistake because of this channel. I made several mistakes bring in a lot of people, I was making a lot of money there with the

[17:35] billionaires' charts. What happened was I brought in a good number of people, and then... Then came the fifth one, which is laziness, laziness, laziness. Why did it happen?

[17:48] I had to not hire those 10 people because... Because the demonetized. Like, we were making R$50,000 every 50 days, R$1,000 per day, R$50,000 every 50 days, R$1,000 per day, in fact. And then, man, we

[18:02] were demonetized because of laziness, laziness, because all the channels, all the making money, they had an advertisement at the beginning of all the videos, and mine didn't. Man, I knew I needed to put it in, and I didn't.

[18:16] That 10-second ad was just laziness, simple laziness, and then what happened? My channel was demonetized because of that damn of the videos. Yeah, and that's what happened. There was no

[18:33] more money coming from the billionaire Quarts, I had to let go of a hire them, we had only said we were going to hire them, and then we thought, "Damn, we're screwed, Quarts was demonetized, we won't be able to do all this." One

[18:47] mistake killed another mistake. That's basically what happened. But man, it sucks, it sucks. Now there's going to be another mistake, man, that has to do with the demonetization that happened

[19:00] thing, remember when I was super sad back in 2012 because of that guy who scammed me? Well, I was really sad

[19:12] too because of that. Oh, there was even a mistake before, there was. I'll even add this one that I didn't mention that happened now. This one is a mistake of greed when the Bonares cut exploded. Like, it started... Like, I

[19:24] hadn't even made it. It was still at R$50,000, and it was just going up really, really high. What did I do? posted that didn't get any views. So what happened was, I thought, "Man, I'm going to repost these clips." What did I do? I

[19:38] started making all the old videos private, private, private, PR, to start reposting. You know what happened? My channel got a

[20:00] Shadow B, right? Like, it was getting,

[20:13] I don't know, the graph, the graph, it's like this, it's going up, and then suddenly, why? Because I made a bunch of videos private out of greed, because I thought, "It's not monetizing, I'm going to post a bunch of stuff, P-p ...

[20:26] The channel was blowing up, getting views, everyone was watching, and then suddenly, out of greed, I screwed up. And I didn't know how long it would last, but thank God it was less than two days with the

[20:39] views dead. So the graph is like this: it goes up, it's dead, right? Like this, hum, straight, then it starts to go up, then it hits, it goes back down, and then after almost two days it does this and explodes upwards,

[20:53] does this and explodes upwards, absurd, absurd, and no, that was very absurd, very absurd. But it's okay, just a bonus mistake here that I forgot to put on this little piece of paper now, which happened after the billionaires channel

[21:05] was demonetized. I made another mistake, which is more or less... what which is more or less... what was the mistake? Seeking other sources of income. billionaires channel was demonetized was, I said, "Man, I ca n't trust YouTube, YouTube is

[21:18] my enemy, I can't focus on AdSens anymore, I have to do other things." So I started putting some products up there, like... Up until then, everything was fine, but services when the "Billionaires" channel exploded. People started to see that

[21:32] Billionaires" channel because the advertising we started putting in the "Billionaires" videos was related to "Let's get practical," you know? Like, Billionaires" crew to "Let's get practical," which is this channel here. And then people

[21:48] started to know who I was and started asking for my services, you know? Oh started asking for my services, you know? Oh my God, stop it, man!

[22:15] providing services. So instead of focusing on my company, creating dark channels, you know, channels that focus on decency, focus on selling products as an affiliate and so on, no, I went there and started selling services.

[22:29] And why is that a mistake? Because I'm sending a lot of work, man, and I'm not, want to be a businessman. I wanted to be a businessman because of the people who talk about it, I don't want to, I don't want to be.

[22:42] Businessman, I want to make videos, I want to create channels, I don't want to deal with clients. It was great, I have nothing to complain about. Like selling services and stuff, there's even training that teaches you how to sell services, it's great, it makes money, it makes a lot of

[22:54] money, right? I'm here thanks to that. Like, I sold services, I had, then I had monetization from VCRV too, so I had the sale of services, the sale of products, the sale of products as an affiliate, I had clients. I don't

[23:08] know if I said clients, it's clients. Ed Sense had everything thanks to all this amount, all these sources of income, we started, we managed to go to São Paulo and live in São Paulo, in this case, and set up a

[23:21] podcast studio there, but I'll get to that later, okay? But it was a mistake, it was a mistake. Because instead of taking all my resources, all my diligence, and focusing on myself or my company to create other channels, no, I started using my

[23:34] expertise to make quick money. Because selling services is contract, sometimes you receive it the same time you close the contract or after 30 days, so it's certain that you'll get it. The money won't come

[23:46] deal with someone who won't pay you, right? But this way, it's quick money, you understand, and it still defend selling services, okay? ideal was to use all my intelligence. I blew up two channels, I blew up one channel,

[24:01] monetized the other, but I know how to do this [ __ ], you understand? I know how to do it, but I started doing other things that have nothing to do with selling services, nothing creating the Billionaires Cart, VC Valant, and several other channels, which is what I do

[24:14] today, you understand? Today I do that, and people come wanting my service, I say, " Man, there's no way, there's a waiting list for you, we'll talk someday, okay?" Because understand? I'm also very good at selling services, I'm very good at

[24:27] delivering results, I'm very good at that, but you can't be good at everything, you I'm saying this video is a rant, you know, that was your father. It's crazy, but you are too, okay, okay, I think I already said it

[24:43] here, oh, sixth mistake, looking for other sources was great. I met a lot of awesome people and stuff, awesome, I can't say they're awesome, but I met a lot of people, okay, I started to understand how it works,

[24:57] damn. I didn't even mention that other mistake, man, which is trusting people I met. If you want me to talk just about that, about the people I trusted in digital marketing, the

[25:21] mistake, seventh mistake, so let's go, after started monetizing again, I even made a video, oh, how to get monetization back on

[25:33] cutting channel. You just had to put ads at the ad to the guys too, PR, the guys. I started monetizing videos. So I had the monetization of the Millionaires channel, I had clients, I

[25:46] had everything, I was making a lot of money, and then I said, "Man, I need to go to São Paulo," you know? I met Lutz too, and we were going to set up a podcast studio together there in São Paulo. And so we went to São Paulo, I mean,

[25:59] I went to São Paulo, we rented a house there, we went to Paraguay too to buy the equipment for the studio. It's all recorded here on "Bora Pra Prática" and we started setting up the studio, you know? But what happened was, we started having a lot

[26:12] to do, man. I had my podcast, which is the podcast, I also had this channel here, which is "Bora Pra Prática," I had the "Pod Brisa," which was a channel that's still very good today, and I also had "Pode

[26:25] Viajar," I also had "Quartes Billionaires," "Vel COC Valant," and the clients, you know? There were several clients, it was a lot to do, a lot to do, you know? After " Quartes Billionaires" demonetized, I started

[26:42] wanting to do everything, and I have this profile of wanting to do everything. Doing everything, and then... look, one thing here, when you start to succeed at anything, opportunities won't stop appearing, and you can't embrace

[26:58] everything, you just can't. You understand? You ca n't, even if you want to, you can't. You might try to understand? It will all fall apart, you won't achieve anything. So be careful, be very careful because it's very... for those who are very ambitious and

[27:13] for those who are very ambitious and start to make a lot of mistakes, ambition and ambition and greed are very close. People say that greed other people's heads to achieve something, no, no, that's not it,

[27:28] this is a more perverse level, but there are things before that, it's wanting to embrace everything, wanting everything for yourself, and you won't succeed, you understand? [27:56] this, I'm going to create that, let's not... like, it worked, man, suck it all up, you know, take everything, it worked, man, suck it all up, you know, take everything, it worked, the channel takes advantage, focus on that one, take all the money you can get from that channel, and after it's

[28:26] other projects too, but it's a huge mistake if you don't know how, like, if start to drain your energy from this main project, it's a huge mistake, you understand? It's a huge mistake. I've done that a lot, man. Today I'm more

[28:41] focused, I'm more relaxed. I say I 'm in the cave here, relaxed. There are a lot of people who call me on WhatsApp wanting to work with me, and I'm like, man, I'm not relaxed, you understand? Now I'm focused here, for those who are following, let's see what

[28:55] I'm focused on, which is having students and channels, you understand? I want to have students, teach, that's my role here, remember my first video on... My first channel was for tutorials, and I continue making tutorials, I continue

[29:07] teaching, I'm very good at teaching, okay? So I teach and I also put it into practice created some channels here a while ago, almost a month ago, which were for cutting—I didn't create the channel to make money, I created the channel to

[29:22] learn, learn more, get better. I watch YouTube videos, I learn, I buy courses to learn, to pass on the teachings to you, you understand? And I learn a lot in practice, right? So, let's get to the practice. I create a

[29:35] monetized it this way, I do this strategy, blah blah," and I teach you, okay? That's my objective, my objective isn't to make money anymore, okay? Because, man, money, oh, [ __ ] it, you understand? [ __ ] it, [ __ ] it, you understand? If you focus on making

[29:49] You might even make money, but it's not the money that will matter to you, it will be money that goes very quickly. Now, if you focus on something much bigger, much bigger, like in this case... My reasoning is much greater
