The Loli Must Stay - Cyberpunk Controversy
45sStarts with a provocative statement and reveals a shocking insider decision from CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger, sparking curiosity and debate.
▶ Play ClipThe video discusses the controversy surrounding the character Rebecca from *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners*, arguing that she is a 'loli' body type (short, flat adult woman) and that denying this is revisionist history and body shaming. The creator cites CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger as confirming Rebecca is a loli, and criticizes the hypocrisy of outrage over loli characters but not over 'shota' (male equivalent) characters.
The creator states that CD Projekt Red initially wanted to remove Rebecca from the cast because 'lowies don't exist in Night City,' but Studio Trigger insisted 'the loli must stay.'
The creator claims that CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger have confirmed Rebecca is a loli, and that this is being used to counter revisionist history.
With *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners* season 2 announced, the creator notes that people are trying to redefine Rebecca as 'petite' or 'short' rather than a loli, citing a post with 9K likes as an example.
The creator argues that 'loli' is a body type for short, flat adult women, and that denying this is body shaming. They give an example of a cosplayer who faced hate for cosplaying Tatsumaki (a loli character) despite being an adult.
The creator points out that a 'shota' (male equivalent of loli) character was revealed for season 2 with zero outrage, calling it hypocritical and performative.
The creator states that this revisionism is not limited to Twitter but is seen on TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube, and that it amounts to body shaming of petite women.
The creator concludes that the controversy is rooted in hypocrisy and body shaming, and hopes this video will put the debate to rest by citing the developers' confirmation.
"The title suggests a call for censorship, but the video actually defends the loli character and criticizes those who want censorship, making it misleading."

4:02[00:00] Put on your hazmat suit because this
[00:02] video is probably going to get very
[00:03] toxic and I'm going to be upsetting
[00:05] quite a few people with what I'm gonna
[00:06] say in this video. I need to show this
[00:08] clip before I even dive into today's
[00:10] subject for this video because it's very
[00:12] important to lay the foundation and
[00:14] context to what I'm about to be
[00:15] discussing. Um, I was one of the people
[00:17] on the creative uh team to actually vote
[00:20] Rebecca out of the original cast during
[00:23] pre-production because what happened was
[00:25] that CD Project Red first got the
[00:27] character design for Rebecca and they
[00:29] were like, "She's a lowly. Lowies don't
[00:31] exist in Night City. It doesn't fit the
[00:33] Cyberpunk 2077 aesthetic." Uh, but Sugar
[00:37] was like, "No, the lowly must stay."
[00:39] And, you know, ultimately, she's the
[00:41] best girl. So, it was it was the right
[00:43] choice because what happened was
[00:46] >> well well well you heard it from CD
[00:49] Project Red themselves. What the
[00:51] creators of Cyberpunk themselves
[00:52] literally said that turning Rebecca into
[00:55] a lolli was the best choice because she
[00:57] is best girl. You heard it from the
[00:59] creators themselves. And Studio Trigger
[01:02] literally told CD Project Red, "The
[01:04] lolli must stay." That news article that
[01:07] you see constantly presented when this
[01:10] type of discussion appears is literally
[01:12] straight up from the developers of CD
[01:14] Project Red and Studio Trigger
[01:16] themselves. So why this is important is
[01:19] because CD Project Red and Studio
[01:21] Trigger announced a season 2 of
[01:23] Cyberpunk EdgeRunners and there is a lot
[01:25] of information that's circulating right
[01:27] now. But first off, there's a lot of
[01:29] people that are doing the typical
[01:31] revision of history or trying to
[01:33] redefine the definition of what a lolli
[01:36] actually is and also trying to say that
[01:38] Rebecca as a character is straight up
[01:40] not a lolli. For instance, this post in
[01:42] particular, it has 9K likes on it. And
[01:45] this individual basically is just
[01:46] straight up saying that Rebecca is not a
[01:49] loi whatsoever. And the reason for that
[01:52] is because she is short. She is a short
[01:55] character. she there was no intentions
[01:57] of her being a lolly character. But also
[01:59] we have another person that does
[02:01] something very similar. You have Rebecca
[02:03] is a petite woman from another
[02:04] franchise. Do you think they will make
[02:06] her model tall when she's a dwarf in
[02:08] anime? Not to mention she's an adult.
[02:10] And then you see the individual trying
[02:11] to say like counter someone saying she's
[02:13] a lolly and they say it's a petite
[02:15] woman, not a kid. But yeah, you can't
[02:18] differentiate that. Anyway, so this goes
[02:20] to show the loops and hoops that so many
[02:22] people will try to dive through to try
[02:25] to say and revise history that Rebecca
[02:28] is apparently not a lolly. And this
[02:30] they're they're so close to getting it.
[02:33] And it's so painful that they legit just
[02:35] cannot admit that they are wrong. And
[02:38] let let's just let's get right into this
[02:39] because obviously this is a topic that
[02:41] gets me in a lot of trouble constantly.
[02:43] But I'm just going to say it because I
[02:45] don't really care. Okay? If people want
[02:47] to hate me for this, fine. But lolli is
[02:50] a body type. It is like it's basically
[02:53] for short flat women. And they exist.
[02:56] Adult short flat women exist. There was
[02:59] a cosplayer that cosplayed as Tatsumaki.
[03:03] I'll probably put the image somewhere on
[03:04] the screen here potentially and you can
[03:06] see it for yourself. This is an adult
[03:07] woman that cosplayed as Tatsumaki from
[03:10] One Punch Man. And I'm going to just
[03:12] straight up say Marata straight up says
[03:14] that Tatsumaki is a lolly. She's an
[03:17] adult, but obviously she has the body
[03:19] type of a lolly. She's short and
[03:20] everything. And basically, because of an
[03:22] adult woman cosplaying as Tatsu Maki,
[03:25] I'm not joking, she received
[03:27] overwhelming amount of hate. I'm not
[03:29] joking. For just her body type, because
[03:31] that is her body type. She received
[03:34] overwhelming amount of hate for a long
[03:36] time and to this very day still receives
[03:38] hate because of her cosplay. What I'm
[03:40] trying to say is is that Loi is a body
[03:43] type. Short, flat women exist. That's
[03:47] that's the truth. And it is just
[03:48] straight up body shaming. Honestly, it's
[03:51] body shaming to pretty much say that a
[03:53] woman cannot look like Rebecca or be
[03:55] short and flat, so to speak. I feel like
[03:57] it is just straight up it's body
[04:00] shaming. Now, another thing, too, is is
[04:02] the reason why this topic is heating up
[04:03] is because Cyberpunk season 2 is coming
[04:06] out and there was a lot of information
[04:08] that was revealed. First off, we have a
[04:11] Shoda character that is revealed. And go
[04:13] figure, in typical fashion, there is no
[04:16] drama around that. And like, okay, this
[04:19] gets into hypocrisy that honestly I'm
[04:22] just I'm going to dive head first into.
[04:23] So, for those that don't know, Shoda is
[04:26] the male equivalent of a lolly. And you
[04:28] want to know what's so hypocritical
[04:29] about this entire situation? There has
[04:31] been next to zero outrage on the reveal
[04:34] of this character that is a Shoda. And I
[04:37] mean that's a good thing there's no
[04:38] outrage, but it is very hypocritical
[04:40] because the same individuals that
[04:42] basically were saying Rebecca, you know,
[04:44] is problematic, needs to be removed, and
[04:46] you know, begging for censorship and now
[04:48] is trying to revise history that
[04:49] apparently she isn't a loi. They're not
[04:52] doing any outrage with the Shoda
[04:54] character. And you want to know why?
[04:55] It's because it's performative and also
[04:57] they don't really care about shas. They
[04:59] don't. It's all about the loy thing.
[05:01] It's the stigma around that term alone
[05:03] that really matters and nothing else.
[05:05] And it goes to show just the uh the
[05:07] performative nature of all of this this
[05:09] outrage that they pick and choose what
[05:11] to be angry about. And it does they
[05:12] don't really care. And once again, if
[05:14] they really did care, obviously they
[05:16] would put all this energy into actually
[05:17] focusing on real criminals and victims
[05:19] and stuff like that instead of pixels on
[05:21] the screen. But anyways, the the point
[05:23] here is is that we are in the stage of
[05:26] revisionist history where they are
[05:28] trying to revise history and say she is
[05:31] not when you literally have the devs CD
[05:33] Project Red and Studio Trigger just
[05:36] straight up saying that she is a lolly.
[05:39] So I just dude I don't know how this
[05:40] conversation just keeps reappearing and
[05:43] there's so many likes on these posts.
[05:45] And honestly this doesn't just happen on
[05:48] like Twitter. A lot of people like to
[05:51] throw this aside and say it's just
[05:52] Twitter that does these things, but no.
[05:54] You see this all over Tik Tok. You see
[05:56] this on Reddit. You see this even in
[05:58] YouTube. You see it everywhere. You see
[06:00] this conversation where people just
[06:02] cannot accept body type. Flat short
[06:04] women exist. And like I said, it's
[06:06] wrong. And it's honestly body shaming. I
[06:08] I willing to bet you if Rebecca was an
[06:10] obese 500 lb woman, I'm willing to bet
[06:12] you certain groups would be like, "Go
[06:14] queen. Go Queen, you're amazing. Go
[06:16] Queen, you're doing good. That's great.
[06:18] That's a great body type." But soon as
[06:19] it's a petite woman that's short,
[06:21] nuh-uh, can't have that. That's bad.
[06:24] That's weird. That's creepy. That's
[06:25] problematic. And it's just like, ah,
[06:27] yes. I guess petite short women can't
[06:28] exist. Okay. So, yeah. Anyways,
[06:32] all I'm saying is is we are really in
[06:35] that stage right now. And we we could
[06:37] just see the sheer hypocrisy because no
[06:40] outrage to a show character now trying
[06:42] to redefine what Rebecca is. And these
[06:45] post just hopefully this video puts it
[06:48] to rest. Hopefully, you know, anytime
[06:50] someone tries to bring up this type of
[06:51] conversation, they link them to my video
[06:53] and this finally puts to rest this
[06:56] entire conversation. But, uh, I will
[06:59] leave it at that. If you enjoy my
