Don't Accept Unknown Gold

[00:00] When you pass an IRS add-on audit, what's this? And trade me with the bank alt, it will say that you have earned zero gold on that character, and that you have 20 gold on the character alt.

[00:12] And trade me with the bank alt, it will say that you have earned zero gold on that character, and that you have 20 gold on the character. The clip starts at mid-conversation. Is he making an add-on that will look at how much gold you've earned to see if the gold is legit,

[00:26] or if you got traded it? Yeah, but who made the add-on? Oh, here. one of my moderators told me so for example pissing time here he showed me one gold now how has pissing time earned the one gold

[00:38] well he's looted this from mobs he's quested he's sold things on vendors and he's made nine gold from selling things on the auction house you can see here the things he sold

[00:50] on the auction house probably skimming things because there's 150 skimming so we know this guy didn't buy the one gold that he's given me all the gold that he has, most gold ever. How is it pulling all this info?

[01:03] Wait, that's actually insane. Because, like, as of right now, if you're a streamer, turn off trades because someone could screed you and get you banned, right? Like, do not, like, do not even trade. Something like this is insane.

[01:15] You can actually see if they're legit, kind of. Huh. Is this real? Or is this fake? It's in the achievement statistics pane. So it pulls it from their character. What about if they have, uh,

[01:28] a main and then an alt. Is it account-wide or character-wide? Blizzard should just do this. It's character-wide. So if you have an alt, it could kind of screw it up. Yeah, it's actually a decent idea. Funny enough, on my run this morning,

[01:40] I was thinking, what if there was like a little warning button if someone trades you gold of like, warning, this could be illegal gold or something. Like, I don't know. Because once it's in the economy, it's... Right?

[01:53] This is kind of interesting. It shows up with the total gold that he's earned. for what's going to be the except. Bro, look at the blue post. Is there a new blue post? That is actually pretty cool. I thought that was going to be like some meme clip.

[02:07] Ooh, ooh, new blue post with RMT right now as we're watching that. Holy crap. Since our previous note on the subject of addressing RMT, we have been existing action accounts that were found to be botting to a mass gold in the beta,

[02:20] as well as the accounts of those who are found to have purchased or knowingly received a list of gold. Nice. we will continue to take action against RMT in both the beta and the live game after the launch of WoW Forever. There we go. I mean, Mad

[02:33] Season said he's a little iffy on this one. This is something I've been pushing for for a long time. I mean, famously when Soda Pop and Bot Gold back in Only Things 1, I was

[02:45] like, you didn't get banned? Hello? Blizzard? As much as I love Soda, bro? Uh, hello? So, yeah. I said that to Soda's face, too, so we're good.

[02:58] We will continue to take action. Oh, Soda's in the chat. Hey, Soda. Yeah. You know, if you buy gold, then there should be consequences. Dude, I don't know if any of you guys played back in the day, like 2004, 2005.

[03:10] It used to be this way, where if you bought gold, you were terrified of getting banned, right? Like, you were terrified. Like, it was this scary thing. And at some point, it just stopped being that way.

[03:23] Like, let's go back to the time of, like, don't buy gold, or if you do, you might be risking your account forever and have to start over, right? In 2005 to 11, you got permed.

[03:35] So at what point did they just stop that? At what point did they just say, oh, okay, we'll just, because I'm glad they're going back. I've been pushing for this for a while. Beware of accepting gold from unknown or suspicious sources.

[03:48] That's you guys. You guys are unknown and suspicious. If the provider is engaged in real money transactions, you can put your account at risk of closure. Our Santa Arm team, wow, is crystal clear. Any account belonging to any player that is found to have participated in generating, selling, buying,

[04:04] or receiving OTC gold is subject to the gold being removed, account suspensions, or permanent closures. Thank you to every player who's provided feedback. So this is awesome, right? I've been very vocal for years about this. This is great. One concern that I have is and I guess this is not big of a concern but if if Payo really doesn like someone okay let not use Payo Let use let use me as an example If I really

[04:30] didn't like someone, could I buy 20 gold, mail it to them as a gift? And if they accept that 20 gold, their gift gold, like say I could say, oh, I ran into you and you know, I appreciate you buffing me and they take the 20, could they get banned? Because that's,

[04:46] That's a little sketch. You would also get banned, right? So don't accept it. So if someone sends you a gift for saying like, oh, wow, thank you for buffing me out in the world. You know, I want to spread some love.

[04:59] And you know, you mail them 15 gold, a bot gold. You can read the line, bro. Which one? Let's see. Is it this one? So don't take candy from strangers. True. Oh, you're saying click on the link, like read the link article?

[05:15] Okay. Okay, hang on. Buying gold puts your account at risk. I'm just fortunate I got it. The same companies that sell gold also the ones that compromise hacked accounts, run automated bots. Gold sellers do not make their gold honestly. They steal people's accounts and damage the economy.

[05:27] Yep. Gold sellers can be deceiving here. Oh, okay. Is this where you guys want me to read? Gold sellers can be deceiving. You just have to avoid them. Never directly buy gold from gold sellers with real money. Don't accept gold sent to your mailbox or in a random trade

[05:39] unless you know the character that sent it. So I guess that's it. If someone sent you anything, do not accept it unless you know them or know you know if it's you you paid for the flash that week

[05:51] and then they're going to pay you back you know whatever um verbatim got it gold sellers sometimes try to move or dump gold to a big detection don't make trade agreements outside of in-game chat

[06:03] gold sellers try to lure you into the other programs outside directions don't attempt to trade gold across wild variants, so like TBC gold, retail gold, any parties involved that have found or bought gold,

[06:17] or is a gold seller, everyone can all be actioned. Donate some to trade gold across realms or factions when that type of trading is unavailable within the version of the game system, like wild variants. The bottom line is, just don't directly buy gold for real money,

[06:29] and donate some large sums of gold from someone you don't know unless it's a crafting or trade agreement made with that character through in-game chat. Okay. That's good. They're very clear. There is no, they're very clear here. Very clear.

[06:46] I think it's a massive W, guys. I think it's a massive W. I think this is massive. I've been saying this for many years. We've got some pushback from some of you guys, and here it is.

[06:58] They're already banning. Don't do it. Not worth it. Let's keep the economy healthy. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Option house only? True. You missed an important line.

[07:10] Was it on this page or this page? I think on this page I missed something. Read the line above the block. Okay. We will soon add a warning. Oh, oh, I did miss this. We will soon add a warning to the game that will appear whenever you trade with strangers,

[07:24] and the warning will read this. Oh, I'm an idiot. Okay, I did miss this. Cool. I actually like that. So that was my idea on my run this morning. I literally thought of this this morning on my run. And I was like, they should add, if there's anything suspicious about a trade, they should add a warning that says, like, just be wary.

[07:42] Do you know who this is and why you're accepting it? If not, like, if you could get banned for it, there should probably be some type of warning. And there is. That's cool. Hopefully it's in the mailbox, too. Because if this says trade, I hope this is the mailbox.

[07:54] But we'll see. I think it's for every trade. Hopefully it's mail or trade. Pretty close to this massive dub if they actually say consistent and continuous action. That has been the issue in the past. Yeah, yeah, I hope they do.

[08:06] I hope they do. I got a $6 donation that says, Hey, man, thanks for being a great streamer. I went ahead and sent you some gold via mail. You're goated. Have fun. Love your content. So if you're a streamer, I don't think this is a good idea to accept any amount of gold from anyone.

[08:20] It says if you don't know them, I mean, technically, wait a minute, hold on. Let's read this here. Don't accept large sums of gold from somebody you don't know. I mean, technically, I do know all of you guys, right?

[08:33] You know me. I know you guys. I mean, we're on a first name basis, basically. Technically? No, I'm kidding. No. Yeah I don think that a good idea This doesn look like a good idea What is even my first name in real life My name is Josh Nice to meet you I guess technically now we know each other What is considered a large sum

[08:53] Oh, that's actually true. Like yesterday I traded a low B1 gold out of the kindness of my heart. I don't remember why actually. Why did I give that guy a gold? I was streaming. I don't remember what he did.

[09:06] Anyway, I gave someone one gold. I mean, that's fine, right? or can I did I just get them banned like if I bought that gold and gave them one gold does now he get banned repair oh yeah I gave him I gave him gold for repairs

[09:19] because I got him killed or something so technically if someone if one of you guys gives me one gold it's fine if you want to help me with repairs huh yeah there's a lot of gray area with this actually huh I think still

[09:31] okay let me so we've had this discussion a lot and I've I've thought about this a ton with how I want to play WoW Forever. I've talked to you guys about this in the

[09:46] past. Go, man! 20 gifted. Thank you so much, brother. I appreciate you. I've talked about this in the past, and people say, you're thinking too hard. Stop thinking so hard. And I'm like,

[09:59] well, maybe that's just what I do. I like to think hard, I guess. But what I did in season of Discovery is I disabled trades altogether. So I could only buy or sell things on the

[10:13] auction house, and if I wanted to enchant something from an enchanter, I would have to start the trade. So disabled trades altogether. I could use the auction house because I could buy and sell things for fair market value, and then I was very careful with my mailbox

[10:26] and what I opened. And that solved it. I could play the game kind of self-bound, kind of naturally, kind of like how anyone else would play, and that's what I did on Sod. And it It felt pretty okay. It felt pretty good. I was really considering how I want to play forever, right?

[10:40] Because on TBC, on my TBC character, I went full handouts. Full handouts on my TBC guy. And I was like, it's fun, but it's also like, it kind of takes away from the experience, right? So on this, on forever, I'm like, what do I want to do?

[10:53] What do I want to do? I've been leaning towards how I played in SOD. Now that this rules in, I think we just kind of lock in how I played in SOD. We just disable trades, basically. Just disable trades. I'm the only one that starts a trade.

[11:05] If you want to trade with me, it'll cancel, auto. Just disable trades. I think that's the best way to do it. And then if I want to buy or sell, auction out. And if I want to start a trade, I can. Just disable trades, right?

[11:17] That's what I did before. It kind of worked. I think we do it again. There are downsides. Like if a warlock wants to trade me a cookie, they can't. I have to trade the warlock to get the cookie, for example. But then it just keeps it real easy, you know?

[11:29] So I've been thinking a lot about that. I was talking about this basically a year ago. How am I going to play Classic Plus? And people are like, shut up, you're thinking too hard. Rips people asking for water. Guys, that's not why I'm disabling trades.

[11:42] It's not so people can't trade me water. That has nothing to do with it. It's not like in SOT I turn off my trades so that people would open trade in a raid and get water and food. It was because I didn't want handouts, okay?

[11:55] No. Why can't you just verify who you're trading with before hitting accept? So you could do that, and that's what Zico's trying to do with this IRS add-on, is verify who you're trading with. And this is another good idea, but it's just a lot of gray area,

[12:11] and it's a lot of gray area. I think I need your wages to stable trades. That's what I did last time. I just didn't trade at all. Blizzard takes aim at RMQ, the new WoW Forever Trade Warning. Yep. Yep, yep.

[12:23] Or just don't accept free stuff. Well, that's kind of the idea, is the auction house can never be free stuff because anyone has the power to buy or sell from it. So if I want to sell something,

[12:36] then I have to sell it for market price. And if I want to buy something, I buy it for market price. That's why it's like just a CC auction house kind of deal. List some linen cloth for 200 gold. I don't even know if you can do that anymore because they changed the auction house.

[12:48] Correct me if I'm wrong, guys, but with a new auction house, if you post linen cloth for 200 gold, can someone even buy it? I don't think it'll even let you right you can yes you're right you always buy

[13:00] the cheapest item though right like you you can do it with individual items like a BOE but not with like a like oh now maybe there is a way what if you sell portals Could you get banned No no If you selling a service if you sell a portal if you

[13:15] sell an enchant, it's like, no. I think you're thinking too hard about this. Now I'm the one saying that. It's if you're getting gold for nothing. Want to sell portal 100 gold? Right.

[13:27] Duels for gold will be dangerous? I wonder what duels for gold will look like. Because that's something I love doing transparently. I've done that for 15 years on my stream, 14 years on my stream.

[13:40] That would suck not to be able to duel for gold. But you can lose gold and make it. I think that would probably be fine. But there is some gray area there. Just get the chat log out, yeah. There are logs for that at least, yeah.

[13:53] Update ain't no troll. Okay, let's take a look. That's why they say put it in chat, yeah. Duels for gold, even before I became a streamer, was one of my number one ways to make gold. I played the auction house.

[14:06] Actually, it depended on the expansion, but for a while there, I did... I used an add-on called TSM. Any TSM enjoyers out there? Trade skill master. Back in the days, I would do...

[14:18] I did jewel crafting for a long time, and then I did inscriptions. TSM hype. Yeah, crazy good add-on. I mean, bro, TSM was such a good add-on when no one knew about it, too, because you had such an advantage on everyone else.

[14:31] Like, basically, guys, what the add-on did is he would, like, I would have, like, three of every glyph on the whole auction house. And then it would, like, scan the whole thing and then make sure mine were, like, the top three. And if they weren't, it would, like, cancel them and have run to the auction house and, like, go back and repost.

[14:47] And you just control the market. It was nuts. You could, like, tycoon it up. And I did that with Jewelcrafting for a while and Inscription. For those of you guys that watched my stream back in the day, which is nobody, like, I had, like, one viewer.

[15:00] my first streams, I was, uh, I only did gold making. So my stream title was making gold or teaching you how to make gold. And what I did was basically teach people how to use the TSM add-on,

[15:12] teach people professions and like made gold all day. I had like one viewer though. So, um, then we, then we got more into PPC content later. Rank one gold maker. I wasn't even that good at

[15:24] it. I wasn't, I wasn't like super, there's some people out there that made a lot of gold, but I, I don't even know. I had a good amount of gold, but I wasn't like... There were some people that were like crazy with it.

[15:36] I have like 30 million gold in retail I'll never use. 30 million? By retail account, I think I have like 4 or 5 million gold. And I made it all back in Warlords of Draenor.

[15:51] Or not all of it, most of it. In Warlords of Draenor, what you did is there was like a table with follower missions. and you could sack all the gold ones up to get like 2x or 3x or whatever.

[16:03] And I just did the follower missions. I never played the game. Like you could do them on your phone, I think, too, back then or something. There was like a phone app. And then you could just log in and do all the missions, log out, log in missions, log out. I did that.

[16:15] And I made like, I don't know, close to 5 million gold. And I've been living on that 5 million gold I made on my retail account ever since. I think it's a little less now because I've spent some of it. That was literally how I made most of my retail gold now.

[16:28] It's crazy. You made $150 million in Shadowlands from base legendaries? $150 mil? Do IRS me.

[16:42] Most gold ever owned. Unexplained gold check before accepting. Zico has an IRS add-on made and he fails it. his own checks because he had the 500 gold.

[16:56] It actually is kind of a cool add-on. It, like, checks to see if it's self-spect gold. Large, unexplained wealth.

[17:10] 529 gold at their peak isn't explained by recorded income. We're saving that with the artist's case. I don't know. I mean, there probably will be add-ons that try to detect this, like the IRS one, but

[17:24] I think the easy solution is just don't trade if you're a streamer. Don't accept gold from strangers.
