Blizzard Reinvented Alt Leveling!
49sThe host's excitement and promise of massive XP buffs hooks players looking for efficient leveling.
▶ Play ClipBlizzard has quietly overhauled leveling in patch 12.0.7 of Midnight, making it faster and more rewarding for alts. The new content, especially showdowns and world quests in the off-world zones, grants significant XP. With upcoming buffs like Turbulent Timeways, it's an ideal time to level alts to 90 while earning cosmetics and endgame-viable power.
The first season of Midnight is wrapping up, indicating the video is timely for leveling alts.
Showdowns, unlike void invasions, give eye-watering amounts of XP for leveling alts.
An upcoming event starting June 30th that provides a 30% XP buff for completing four timewalking dungeons.
Two new planets (Nagtal and Val) are accessible before level 90, with rares and world quests offering massive XP and gear.
A level 81 character gained over two full levels in 40-45 minutes from one full map clear of the new zones.
Prey hunts, weekly rapper quests, and various world quests now give substantial XP (about a quarter of a level at 80).
Stack Warband buff (up to 25%), War mode (10-15%), Dark Moon Fair (10%), and Turbulent Timeways (30%) for maximum XP.
Complete all 10 Delves on tier 2 difficulty, pick up quests inside, and save the turn-in for later to gain multiple levels.
Four main options: Showdowns (best for gameplay/rewards), Prey hunts (fast, easy), campaign speedrun (fastest but boring), or dungeons (avoid).
Turn in all Delver's Call quests with War mode on to blast from 86 to 90.
Under 4 hours from level 80 with buffs; under 3 hours if optimized. Also, fresh 90s start with resources for champion/hero gear.
Blizzard's overhaul makes leveling alts in patch 12.0.7 both fun and fast, with multiple methods that reward gameplay, cosmetics, and gear. By stacking XP buffs and using strategies like the Delve World Tour and new zone world quests, players can reach level 90 in under 4 hours while also gearing for endgame.

14:16[00:01] I haven't been this excited to bring you
[00:02] a leveling guide in a long, long, long
[00:05] time. Maybe even since the insanity of
[00:08] the Legion pre-expansion event. So,
[00:10] here's what's going on. The first season
[00:12] of Midnight is starting to wrap up, and
[00:14] that means that you've probably done
[00:15] most of what you want to do. Blizzard
[00:16] knows that as well, so they've kind of
[00:19] quietly overhauled leveling in the
[00:20] background. And even better, they have
[00:23] made this patch's new content genuinely
[00:26] godamn amazing for leveling up your
[00:28] alts. Seriously, showdowns, unlike void
[00:31] invasions, grant an eye watering amount
[00:34] of XP. Between that and the upcoming
[00:36] turbulent timeways buff, it is prime
[00:38] time to get your alt army to level 90.
[00:41] And guess what? As you do it, you'll be
[00:43] earning loads of cosmetics, and you'll
[00:45] even be earning loads of power that'll
[00:47] be immediately useful to you at endgame
[00:50] when you hit 90. So, all that said,
[00:52] welcome to the 1207 edition of our
[00:54] leveling guide. But first, a story
[00:56] you'll find kind of shocking from
[00:57] Blizzard's home state. That's that
[00:59] California regulators just hit a data
[01:01] broker called National Public Data with
[01:03] the maximum fine. And that's because of
[01:05] a breach that reportedly exposed 2.9
[01:09] billion records. That's why I run
[01:11] today's sponsor, Incogn. Now, the fine
[01:14] was, by the way, for not registering the
[01:15] data breach. So, um, yeah, that's that's
[01:18] even worse. And the breach reportedly
[01:20] exposed people's names and social
[01:22] security numbers. That's really bad. And
[01:24] incogn is really good because they hunt
[01:26] down the data brokers holding your
[01:28] personal information and they file
[01:30] removal requests on your behalf. That
[01:32] means that people won't be able to go to
[01:34] those data brokers and that you know buy
[01:36] your information or if those data
[01:38] brokers happen to be breached well your
[01:40] info will have been taken down. But of
[01:42] course they will recollect if they can.
[01:44] So incognally
[01:46] rescans to ensure your data is kept
[01:48] down. And on the dashboard, you see
[01:50] who's been contacted, who's actually
[01:52] removed you, and where you're still
[01:54] exposed. And if you take a look at my
[01:56] dashboard, you can see that there are
[01:57] hundreds of requests and hundreds of
[02:00] successful ones. Now, they cover a wide
[02:03] range of these outfits. And for me, it's
[02:05] important because my name and face are
[02:07] public. My address, lots of other
[02:09] things, they don't need to be. Now,
[02:11] look, no one defense is a magical
[02:12] solution. The best defense is a layered
[02:15] one. And I think incogn is a vital layer
[02:18] to have in your internet defenses. And
[02:21] that's cuz they can shrink how many
[02:23] brokers are carrying your name, your
[02:25] address, your phone, your email all
[02:27] around the internet. That just means
[02:29] there's less threat surface area that
[02:31] you are exposed to. Now, viewers of this
[02:34] channel get 60% off the annual plan at
[02:36] incogn.com/bellularwarcraft.
[02:38] That's incogn.com/bellularwarcraft.
[02:41] Codebellularwarcraft.
[02:42] The link is down below. With that said,
[02:44] let's get back to it.
[02:47] The most important part of all this is
[02:48] that the two new planets let you in when
[02:51] you're under level 90. And over the
[02:53] course of the PTR, Blizzard made sure
[02:55] they were definitely worth doing.
[02:57] Everything reliably drops strong gear
[03:00] for your current level. And the rares
[03:02] give you more XP than a regular world
[03:04] quest in Quelast does. But then there's
[03:07] the world quests themselves located on
[03:09] Nagtal and Val which are even better cuz
[03:12] they give you three times as much XP as
[03:14] a regular world quest all while being
[03:17] really really close together. And what's
[03:20] crazy is well normally you can run out
[03:23] of world quests. But these world quests
[03:25] actually work differently. They work a
[03:28] lot more friendly actually where instead
[03:30] of a few times a week what happens is
[03:33] new ones spawn around every hour. And
[03:35] unlike void assaults, which were
[03:37] technically possible below level 90, but
[03:39] were an utter waste of time, well, here
[03:41] you get the full amount of field
[03:43] accolades, which is a very important
[03:45] currency, and a ton of XP as a bonus.
[03:49] And to give you an idea of just how fast
[03:50] these are, well, we took an almost level
[03:53] 81 character through the intro, the
[03:55] weeklies, and did one full map clear. It
[03:58] took about 45 minutes. Well, it would
[04:00] have been around 40 minutes if one of
[04:02] the boss ads hadn't bugged out and uh
[04:04] needed to be killed again. Patch day
[04:06] problems. But anyway, we went up well
[04:09] over two full levels. Then logging in
[04:13] about 2 hours later, well, the map was
[04:15] full of world quests again and they
[04:17] could all be done. And in our gameplay
[04:19] without doing the weeklies, a second
[04:21] full clear took about 20 minutes, but
[04:23] got us most of a level and well over a
[04:27] 100 field accolades. And if you're lucky
[04:29] and you end up sharing a phase with some
[04:31] maxle pumpers, well, it'll go even
[04:33] faster. So, for quick bursts of
[04:35] leveling, stacking up rewards in big MMO
[04:38] fashion, as well as, you know, actually
[04:40] getting to play the new content, these
[04:42] two new zones are absolutely amazing.
[04:45] But they're not the only parts of this
[04:46] patch that change our leveling. You see,
[04:48] basically everything except campaign
[04:51] speedrunning has been humongously buffed
[04:53] in terms of XP. Prey hunts and weekly
[04:56] rapper quests, including your renowned
[04:57] weeklys, give mostly the same XP. And
[05:01] that amount is honestly uh kind of
[05:03] staggering. It's a lot. Doing any of
[05:06] these things will give you almost a
[05:07] quarter of a level at level 80. And
[05:09] that's before any XP buffs are taken
[05:11] into account. Void assaults now give
[05:13] twice as much XP as well. Though that's
[05:16] not all much use because we've moved on
[05:18] to the off-world showdowns. As for other
[05:20] things, the dungeon quests have got
[05:21] buffed as well, but not by very much.
[05:23] And that means that what's still king is
[05:25] the Delver's call quests. And even more
[05:28] so, because they have almost been
[05:30] doubled. It's ultimately kind of mad.
[05:33] And when we zoom out and look at the
[05:35] whole picture, we see that Blizzard
[05:36] buffed leveling through every method
[05:39] except for just spamming the campaign
[05:41] quests. Now, we've actually got all the
[05:43] numbers, and honestly, all of the
[05:45] numbers are big. Blizzard knows what's
[05:47] up, and now 80 to 90 is both fun and
[05:50] fast. So, now that you know all the new
[05:52] information, it's time for the guide
[05:54] bit.
[05:56] Step one, as with any leveling session,
[05:58] is to remember all of your XP buffs.
[06:00] You'll have some of your warb band buff,
[06:01] which maxes out at 25% once you've got
[06:04] five level 90s. Then there's war mode,
[06:06] which will be 10 to 15% while you're
[06:08] doing world content, though it is a
[06:10] little bit risky on the two off-world
[06:11] showdown worlds. But most everywhere
[06:14] else, it's kind of free XP. Then there's
[06:16] the Dark Moon Fair's extra 10%. That
[06:19] would be nice, but it won't be active
[06:20] until July 5th. Sadly though, the
[06:22] strongest buff of all is not up at the
[06:25] time that I'm recording this video,
[06:26] though it will be up fairly soon. The
[06:28] Turbulent Timeways event starts June
[06:30] 30th. And once it starts, completing
[06:32] four time walking dungeons will land you
[06:34] a rather whopping 30% XP buff. And that
[06:37] means that if the events active, even if
[06:39] you want to level up your character via
[06:41] other methods, just getting that buff
[06:43] rolling and keeping it active is
[06:45] definitely going to be worth it both for
[06:47] your XP and the amount that it will help
[06:49] you earn. Okay, that's step one. Step
[06:51] two is the one you're probably more
[06:54] familiar with. It's the Delve World
[06:56] Tour. Look, it's still the best source
[06:58] of XP possible. And the way it works is
[06:59] that at level 80 scaling, you can
[07:01] utterly blitz delves. It's honestly
[07:04] wild. And of course, the Delver Calls
[07:07] have been massively buffed. So, because
[07:08] of all that, the thing to do is finish
[07:10] all 10 delves after picking up their
[07:12] related quests, which are located inside
[07:15] them. And when choosing difficulty
[07:16] levels, I'd recommend tier 2. It's much
[07:18] better XP for only a tiny bit more
[07:21] scaling, so it's totally worth doing.
[07:23] You should be able to do all of this in,
[07:25] I don't know, an hour or so. And at the
[07:28] end of this, you'll be at least level
[07:30] 81. That doesn't sound fast, but
[07:32] remember, we're not handing in the
[07:34] Delver's Call quests yet. That's just XP
[07:36] from doing the delves. And with the
[07:38] Warband, Timeways, and War mode buffs,
[07:41] each quest will give you over a third of
[07:43] a level all the way up to level 90. So,
[07:46] doing the 10 Delver's Call quests will
[07:48] get you over four levels, which means
[07:51] you can hit level 86 first, then go full
[07:54] send in your turnins. And when you do
[07:56] that and turn them all in, you will
[07:58] blast your way straight through the
[08:00] slowest part of the leveling curve and
[08:02] the bit of the leveling curve where the
[08:03] game ends up being the least fun because
[08:05] the scaling, well, just makes you feel
[08:07] weaker. Okay, that's step two. Step
[08:09] three, then is to take your pick of how
[08:12] to do level 81 through to 86. And once
[08:14] you've done your world tour of delves,
[08:16] this is all you really actually need to
[08:18] do manually. And thankfully, this is
[08:20] where it gets the most interesting.
[08:22] Blizzard's buffet philosophy, the one
[08:24] they applied to gearing, is very much
[08:26] coming in hot here because there are so
[08:28] many ways to level up. It's kind of
[08:31] wild. But I'll caution you on one thing.
[08:33] At this point, the fastest way to level
[08:36] is not necessarily the best choice. The
[08:39] best choice is going to be far more
[08:40] about what you actually need in your
[08:42] characters. So, if hitting level 90 ASAP
[08:44] is your only focus, then perfecting the
[08:47] follow the arrow campaign route is still
[08:49] the quickest way to do that. That's
[08:51] because it's a constant torrent of XP
[08:52] that you can do faster and faster and
[08:54] faster as you get more skilled. The
[08:56] cutscene skipping and very easy click
[08:58] for items quests are really quite hard
[09:00] to beat. But it's not what I'll be
[09:01] doing. If you want to actually play the
[09:03] game at level 90, you're going to need
[09:06] some stuff. stuff like gear and field
[09:09] accolades, plus experience actually
[09:11] playing your class. And that's why for
[09:13] this step, there's a few options you can
[09:16] make. Your first choice is showdowns. If
[09:19] Blizzard are still calling them that,
[09:20] who knows? They've been a little bit
[09:21] weird with how they name their features.
[09:23] Anyway, the best way to do these is to
[09:25] do the quick little intro to then clear
[09:26] the weeklies and then clear the world
[09:28] quests on the map. After that, you can
[09:30] run around hunting down rares or just do
[09:32] something else until the world quests
[09:34] respawn and they respawn in the hour.
[09:36] Now, thinking purely about speed, the
[09:37] world quest spawn timing can sometimes
[09:39] screw you a bit. And the biggest burst
[09:42] of XP is doing your weeklys. Ranking
[09:44] wise, it's about a B. Plus, it's also
[09:46] scaled to be actual content at level 80.
[09:48] You know, instead of the quail for last
[09:50] mobs that explode at the very thought of
[09:52] being near a player. And this is why we
[09:55] have the brainoff category. You don't
[09:57] have to totally lock in, but you are
[09:59] doing new content on a dense world
[10:01] without flying. So, if you want brainoff
[10:03] gameplay, it probably comes in at about
[10:05] a C in terms of our ranking. But the
[10:08] good news about it is it massively sets
[10:11] you up on the gameplay front. And that's
[10:13] not just because you're playing your
[10:14] class fully and constantly. No, it's
[10:17] because they've got some really cool
[10:19] vehicle world quests and some really fun
[10:21] physics traversal stuff as well. There's
[10:23] also a lot of room for big pools and
[10:25] efficient dynamic pathing. So, from a
[10:28] WoW leveling gameplay perspective,
[10:30] honestly, it gets a solid S. I'd
[10:33] personally recommend leveling this way
[10:34] for all of those reasons. And then, of
[10:36] course, there's rewards. They're really
[10:38] good. The gear that drops from this
[10:40] feature is actually scaled pretty damn
[10:43] highly as you go, especially compared to
[10:45] other methods, so your character won't
[10:47] feel radically weak as it levels up.
[10:50] More importantly, you'll get plenty of
[10:51] field accolades, and you'll want those
[10:53] for hero gear boxes, and of course, a
[10:56] bunch of cosmetics up at level 90. As
[10:58] you do this, you'll also be earning
[10:59] achievements from this new content,
[11:01] which really means you are knocking out
[11:03] so many birds with one uh really big
[11:05] stone. So, on the rewards front, I've
[11:08] got to rank it an S tier. And overall, I
[11:11] mean, it's just obviously the choice in
[11:13] my opinion. But there is another one.
[11:15] The second choice is prey. You can
[11:17] endlessly repeat prey hunts on normal
[11:19] from level 81 to 86. And every one of
[11:21] them now nets you a massive portion of a
[11:24] level. Now, you might be wondering how
[11:25] fast they are. And the good news is that
[11:27] once you get it down, it is really fast.
[11:29] On the speed front, I'm going to give it
[11:31] an A rank. But on the can I turn my
[11:33] brain off front, it is a little bit
[11:35] mixed. When you're just flying around
[11:36] clicking in traps and things, it's super
[11:38] easy. But you do have to be vigilant at
[11:40] all times to max out your speed. So, on
[11:43] the brain front, I'm probably going to
[11:45] give it a B. As for the gameplay, well,
[11:47] you get to see sights a little more
[11:49] dynamically, but still a whole load of
[11:51] flying around and normal mode prey
[11:53] bosses fold like rice paper. So, I'll
[11:55] give it a B in that front. But on
[11:56] rewards, oh, it's getting an A because
[11:59] you also get coffee key shards and of
[12:02] course all of these boxes of assorted
[12:04] stuff that's mostly useful. The third
[12:05] choice then is the classic old questing
[12:08] speedrun. In terms of speed, this one
[12:10] gets S tier. It's blazing fast and it's
[12:13] also mostly effortless. So, in brain
[12:15] off, it gets an A for just doing Follow
[12:18] the Arrow, the add-on follow the arrow,
[12:20] which really does let you turn your
[12:22] brain off. Now, on the gameplay front,
[12:24] by which I mean you getting to learn and
[12:26] enjoy your spec, it's a C, maybe a D.
[12:30] It's pretty boring. And on the rewards
[12:31] front, I'm going to give it a C. It's
[12:33] just XP, mediocre gear, and a pittance
[12:36] of gold. Now, you do have a fourth
[12:39] choice, which is dungeons, but at this
[12:40] point, they are barely even good for
[12:42] practicing your class. I would say just
[12:44] do not bother. Even the buffed dungeon
[12:46] quests just are not worth the time sync.
[12:48] If Blizzard wants dungeons to be viable
[12:50] for leveling, they really need to buff
[12:52] dungeon mob XP and increase the quest
[12:54] XP. So dungeons get a D in every
[12:57] category. But then lastly, there's a
[12:59] secret speedier option, but you're going
[13:01] to be mad at me. So it's this. Do the
[13:05] original renown weeklys. They take
[13:07] almost zero time and they give you about
[13:09] a third of a level each. Just skip the
[13:11] Stormarian assault one, please. That's
[13:13] obviously not worth the time just spent
[13:16] sitting there waiting for things. So,
[13:18] bringing it all together, pick one or
[13:20] just mix and match from these options
[13:22] and get yourself to level 86.
[13:24] Personally, I think doing Showdown World
[13:26] quests, then a few praise, and then
[13:27] returning to the Showdown World once the
[13:29] quests have responded is pretty much the
[13:31] best way to do it. But, however you
[13:33] choose, hit level 86 and then move on to
[13:36] step four, which is hit level 90. And I
[13:38] really do mean that.
[13:40] What you'll want to do is make sure war
[13:42] mode is turned on and then hand in all
[13:44] of the Delver's Call quests. Do that and
[13:47] you will be level 90. Now, you could
[13:50] stop a little earlier, like say the
[13:52] middle of level 85, and then you could
[13:54] fill in the 89 through to 90 gap with
[13:57] first time craft bonuses. That's
[13:59] something we've recommended in this
[14:00] channel before, but honestly, with all
[14:02] of these stacked buffs, the increased
[14:04] XP, the new rewards, come on, you may as
[14:06] well just play the game a tiny bit more
[14:08] instead of fiddling around with some
[14:10] crafts. And overall, what I'd say is
[14:12] that with all of the buffs going, I
[14:13] would not be surprised if you're able to
[14:16] hit 90 in under 4 hours from level 80.
[14:19] Now, if you're willing to lock in and go
[14:21] fast, it can be even faster. I'd say
[14:22] under 3 hours is possible. But the best
[14:25] part of this isn't the leveling speed.
[14:26] It's the fact that you'll start level 90
[14:29] with loads of resources and maybe even
[14:31] enough of those resources to start
[14:33] buying loads and loads of champion gear
[14:36] and maybe even some hero gear. So, if
[14:38] you want to learn how to gear up your
[14:39] fresh 90s, well, conveniently, we have a
[14:42] guide that's going to help you with all
[14:44] of that and let you put the field
[14:46] accolades you've earned from this guide
[14:47] from leveling up your characters to good
[14:49] use.
