[00:20] hello
[00:25] everybody oh god oh man mute yourself
[00:27] good
[00:28] heaven doing it till I get
[00:31] dizzy man I'm in like right in
[00:34] projectile vomit range you that I just
[00:36] had Curry spinning like a
[00:39] sprinkler go the other way recalibrate
[00:42] your equilibrium there this is cars and
[00:45] bids podcast or video
[00:47] live and uh we have hooie today hovie
[00:50] tell us hello I have a YouTube channel
[00:52] called hoovies garage how many Subs you
[00:55] got now
[00:56] 1.54 million how many monthly views you
[00:59] get I don't know four four to six
[01:02] million views a month yeah something
[01:04] like that four or six four to six
[01:06] usually depends on how much I post
[01:07] because I don't I used to post twice a
[01:09] week religiously like you I've gone down
[01:11] to about six a month so sometimes I
[01:13] don't post twice a week why because I
[01:15] feel like the videos need to be longer
[01:17] and have more in it to keep up with
[01:19] today's you know watch time longer
[01:20] videos seem to do better so where I used
[01:23] to be able to do like the buy and then
[01:25] everything that's wrong and then do
[01:26] something fun and then you know I have
[01:28] to sort of combine that if there's not
[01:29] enough meat do you are you doing Tik
[01:32] Tock no are you on the the Tik Tock
[01:35] there with all the young kids no you're
[01:38] not doing Tic Tac you're not doing are
[01:39] you doing YouTube shorts it's not
[01:40] because I'm worried about someone is the
[01:42] Chinese getting my stuff it's just
[01:44] because I don't understand it I guess
[01:45] I'm old are you doing YouTube shorts uh
[01:48] I've done a few shorts but no I haven't
[01:51] no what is happening here I I don't know
[01:55] what is going on they're trying not to
[01:57] show that is my brain weak or no signal
[02:00] check your input connection all right
[02:01] there we go it was so good before that's
[02:04] the sad part right huh um so you're not
[02:07] doing any of that no is that bad yeah I
[02:10] think that I think that they promote you
[02:12] more if you do the shorts because they
[02:14] want people to do shorts so badly that
[02:16] they they push you up they're desperate
[02:17] because of the Tik Tok yeah well how are
[02:19] your views nowadays they're fine yeah I
[02:22] mean still month by month yeah you you
[02:25] just sort of run out of like the really
[02:27] crazy cars like the F40 you do the F40
[02:30] and you're done if there were more then
[02:31] you would get 10 million view videos
[02:33] there was a time when I got more views
[02:35] but I think that's true for most of us
[02:37] based on what I'm saying yeah I think
[02:39] that Tik Tok has come and really pulled
[02:41] away some audience and I think YouTube
[02:44] is desperate to try to catch up right
[02:47] with shorts which has not been as
[02:48] successful it's certainly not as
[02:50] successful for creators and the other
[02:51] real issue is that shorts is not easy to
[02:57] monetize have you no the screen is not
[02:59] easy to get work apparently either but
[03:01] uh there's some sort of issue with our
[03:03] production we Have No what's no idea
[03:04] what's going on I I suppose you're right
[03:06] but and when you get a hot new car you
[03:09] still blow up the internet when you do
[03:12] your your cars and business I always
[03:14] love the older weirder stuff and I'd
[03:16] watch those a lot more but I was in the
[03:17] minority with that stuff and you would
[03:18] sort of shy away from it before cars in
[03:20] business because you're like oh no I'm
[03:21] not going to get the views with this car
[03:22] but now you're sort of free because it's
[03:24] also a promotional tool for cars and
[03:26] this is I think what people don't
[03:27] understand I got complaints for so long
[03:28] you don't do enough weird cars you don't
[03:30] do enough quirky cars you don't stupid
[03:31] cars and now I'm able to do them all
[03:33] because we run them on the site but now
[03:35] people are like you're just promoting
[03:36] the it's like well no win you can't on
[03:39] the internet there's none even when I
[03:41] remember you used to complain that I
[03:43] spoke too slowly so I started speaking
[03:44] faster you know about the Genesis of
[03:45] this and so and so then yeah you made
[03:48] fun of me in all these videos are you
[03:49] speaking too slowly I I don't recall
[03:53] ever doing that are you confusing me
[03:54] with someone
[03:55] else I don't even know what the problem
[03:57] is it seems fine to me yeah it'll fix it
[03:59] mhm god um and so I started speaking
[04:02] faster and then I started getting
[04:03] complaints I was trying to fast so then
[04:05] I started slowing it down again and got
[04:07] more complaints that I was trying to do
[04:08] slow even though there's like a 1.25x
[04:10] and stuff I I think I made fun of you
[04:12] for over enunciating some things but but
[04:15] it was funny I like in a in a not like
[04:17] stop doing it but in a you know you
[04:19] thought it was funny but it still haunts
[04:20] me to this day I'm sorry I'm sorry what
[04:24] is the issue kipo give us give usup give
[04:27] us a tech update here kipo what's going
[04:30] we go to the screen for the live show
[04:31] viewers that has that's having some
[04:33] issues that I supect connection related
[04:36] so don't go to the screen just say here
[04:38] this is fine right instead of instead of
[04:40] running through the live show for the
[04:43] last 40
[04:44] minutes because yeah I know but we you
[04:48] you you it's impossible you have no idea
[04:50] how distracting is we're trying to have
[04:51] a conversation and he's out here blowing
[04:53] on the USB courus did you hear that like
[04:56] an old Nintendo like NES yeah I suppose
[04:58] now is a really good time mentioned that
[05:00] we will be taking a break from the L
[05:02] while we're going to be switching to
[05:03] podcast format this is our last live
[05:04] show for a little while we're going to
[05:06] start doing podcasts after this but
[05:07] because hooie is here can we click
[05:08] because that's I'm here 40 seconds
[05:11] there's bidding right now on my M6 H's
[05:13] M6 is Indianapolis red why do you they
[05:18] call it that I have no idea because they
[05:20] try to name all their like Special M
[05:22] colors after racetracks so Indian 500
[05:24] that's where from we learned something
[05:27] I'm happy to share the knowledge yeah
[05:29] Marina blue
[05:30] yeah yes Marina Circuit of course right
[05:33] Imola I went to Y Marina Dakar water I
[05:37] didn't see water that
[05:38] blue saw a lot of human rights
[05:40] violations I knew that's exactly where
[05:42] you were going to go with it okay all
[05:44] right what do you got here they've got a
[05:45] battle here going on so I bought this
[05:48] car with the intention of doing a
[05:49] six-speed manual swap on it and um when
[05:53] I got the wrong car I actually bought it
[05:55] on cars and bids a 645 or 650 thinking
[05:59] that was the right transmission it was
[06:00] the wrong transmission I was supposed to
[06:01] get an
[06:03] M3 first but my my friend is also like
[06:06] the national expert on the conversions
[06:08] and so like his friend is like the lead
[06:10] he he's converted like 50 SMG m5s to it
[06:13] was fine I was reluctant to do it anyway
[06:15] I was scared like I once I got the car
[06:17] and realized like this thing is such a
[06:20] museum piece even though it is an SMG
[06:22] but it's 20,000 miles and the color of
[06:24] the spec and everything I felt terrible
[06:25] about doing it and then I it was just I
[06:27] took it as like a sign I was like okay
[06:29] I'm not meant to do this I'm not meant
[06:32] to do the swap and so I left it alone
[06:35] and enjoyed it for a bit and bidding is
[06:37] strong it is going yes yes I think it is
[06:41] uh on the low well so it's a few grand
[06:44] less than what I paid for it at this
[06:45] point but uh when did you buy it last
[06:47] year um yeah quite a year I've had it
[06:50] the market has changed
[06:52] mhm yes the market has changed I
[06:55] remember here's a hooie story I remember
[06:58] back when I was younger
[07:00] two years ago three years ago you had
[07:02] all these cars and I thought you were
[07:03] insane for spending all your money on
[07:05] cars and I remember you every dime I had
[07:06] in debt and more it was laughable I mean
[07:08] every year you'd be like I can't pay my
[07:10] taxes because you'd bought spend all
[07:11] your money cars and then there was a
[07:14] year where you looked like an absolute
[07:15] genius because every car you remember
[07:17] this of course he was holding when when
[07:19] the pandemic happened and car value shot
[07:21] up he was
[07:22] Holdings a k and Dia and suddenly he had
[07:26] like quadrupled his money he and
[07:28] stradman looked like they were the smart
[07:29] people in the room MH but things have
[07:31] changed a little since then except the
[07:34] Kos except the K that keeps going that's
[07:37] what did you pay for that that is the
[07:38] deal I will never be able to replicate
[07:40] ever because I bought the Diablo and the
[07:42] coou at the same time from the same
[07:43] person it was every di I had shaken
[07:45] myself upside down for $250,000 for both
[07:47] cars and he just wanted what he paid for
[07:49] them 8 10 years ago man and um he had
[07:53] gotten into tank he'd opened a tank
[07:55] Museum this is a neurosurgeon a single
[07:56] guy and he has this big mansion that's
[07:58] on a dirt road he two countes a test
[08:00] Rose every time he got depressed he
[08:02] would buy an old exotic car but then he
[08:03] switched to buying tanks lost interest
[08:05] in the cars they sat forever like he had
[08:07] this beautiful mahogany bar you know all
[08:08] that stuff just full of reptiles and
[08:10] then like drawing because he was a
[08:12] surgeon you delicate H he was drawing
[08:14] action figures you know the Warhammer
[08:15] and stuff and like that was his chill
[08:17] out thing to do and that was his whole
[08:19] house decorated with it so I bought
[08:20] those like I needed to take the cars
[08:23] moment he said the price we make one
[08:24] full call this deal is going away I'm
[08:25] sure so I I took the cards got the check
[08:27] got the titles got them out was able to
[08:29] hang on to the Diablo for 6 eight months
[08:32] before like I I pay taxes like I'm
[08:34] barely in the yeah and sold that for
[08:37] just under 300 and so I have and I
[08:40] didn't spend more than 50 Grand fixing
[08:42] both cars so it was I have a free
[08:45] kage guys got a free free sitting over
[08:47] here with a free Co pretty so I couldn't
[08:50] be sad if this thing sells for $1,000
[08:52] because of that that deal will always
[08:54] make up for it right yeah what do you
[08:55] think that what are the particulars how
[08:57] many miles are on your your mine is 19
[08:59] 18,000 km about to go over 20 and it's
[09:01] an injected anniversary injected so like
[09:04] 13 14,000 miles right uh pearl white
[09:07] which is sort of unusual Bianca prata U
[09:09] which is beautiful in person scary to
[09:11] drive because any scratch on it I'm
[09:12] repainting the whole thing it would
[09:13] never match you know like the white
[09:15] diamond TR coat on Cadillac when they
[09:16] repay in a corner yeah so that's like a
[09:18] 400 car uh I've turned down from a guy
[09:22] who flips them 450 at this point should
[09:24] have taken that then no mean no like in
[09:28] the last month you should take
[09:29] no I want the car I'm keeping the car
[09:31] yeah yeah it's it's still going special
[09:34] yeah it's special do I have Curry right
[09:36] here no you're just that's just such an
[09:38] amazing what a beautiful thing okay
[09:42] sorry bding still going
[09:44] $28,000 so that's the thing tell us
[09:46] about here's what I want to know from
[09:48] you you put cars on our side all the
[09:49] time yes how does that what's it like
[09:53] the last minute are you nervous oh I
[09:56] mean early on I think the first one with
[09:58] the Phantom where was no Reserve with
[10:00] you know like that was the second big
[10:01] auction for you it's like is going to
[10:05] happen right we all wondered that as you
[10:07] risk a less expensive car your E63 wagon
[10:11] I I was I was a riskier well you could
[10:13] have put your Ford GT up there and
[10:14] really didn't did the thing I wanted it
[10:16] I still have it I know but um yeah mine
[10:19] was a little bit more expensive and I
[10:21] wondered what would happen and so it's
[10:23] sold for like 70 GS to some like
[10:26] influencers husband 69420 something like
[10:28] that yeah just like some influencer's
[10:30] husband in South Carolina and it worked
[10:32] out they bought that and they bought the
[10:34] db7 and when the db7 showed up I guess
[10:37] his wife was like what the heck like
[10:39] this needs to be now a onein one out
[10:41] policy right now because they live in
[10:43] South Carolina and they have the cars
[10:45] outside like a phantom sitting outside
[10:47] with two other Phantoms and stuff like
[10:49] really crazy and so he's like I've got
[10:51] this John CLA vanam Missour that this1
[10:53] aour that was owned by John Claud vanam
[10:55] and I need to get rid of it now it's
[10:57] hasn't hasn't moved in a while but it
[10:58] runs and drives for 25 Grand oh okay
[11:01] yeah like yes and that turned into
[11:03] that's how you bought that bought that I
[11:05] I mean spent probably five grand on it
[11:06] but then $
[11:08] 28,250 so um yeah that's I think that's
[11:12] good money yes that's that's I'm not
[11:13] that's good money for a pair I'm uh with
[11:15] shipping I'm I got to enjoy that car for
[11:17] free for almost a year so that's about
[11:19] purpose you didn't really drive it a
[11:20] whole lot so it didn't break all that
[11:22] much I don't no so it had the SMG p63 M6
[11:25] is here E63 this is the other E63
[11:29] the Lesser
[11:31] known okay so where we where are we
[11:33] selling these things how many click on I
[11:35] mean this your low miles in a cool color
[11:37] a manual for 27 I mean that's pretty
[11:40] good if it sticks for the same money 35
[11:42] 26 for
[11:44] 2 correct 35 is 26 yours is I suspect
[11:49] these cars will become like coveted
[11:52] someday they're relatively known
[11:54] especially the the manual ones obviously
[11:55] but like I it's just like was say
[11:57] shorter wheelbase M5 same engine it
[11:59] weighed I think 240 lbs less yeah but
[12:03] but it does look like a parrot it's
[12:04] uglier it does look like a parrot it has
[12:06] not aged as gracefully as the E60 have I
[12:08] don't think it's that bad and that so
[12:10] that's 21,000 Mi is still enough to be
[12:12] low enough to be a collector grade car
[12:13] with a cool spec so I think that's a
[12:15] good buy for someone to just put a
[12:18] thousand or two miles a year on it for
[12:20] 10 years and it's a special occasion car
[12:22] MH yep because you're just too afraid to
[12:25] use it and wear out those rod bearings
[12:26] and those throttle accur and all that
[12:28] well this one had yeah no rod bearings
[12:30] or the yeah the uh the vano stuff but
[12:33] the SMG pump had been replaced on this
[12:35] car just the fellow who bought this car
[12:37] also bought that Ferrari California from
[12:39] the other day H that was that was a buy
[12:42] wasn't it it was a crazy buy it was a
[12:45] $52,000 purchase of a Ferrari California
[12:48] yeah absolutely wild he's been on a ton
[12:50] of stuff but then he got that I mean
[12:52] that's a car may I don't know if if
[12:54] there's if you advertise it really high
[12:56] maybe one person's crazy you sit on for
[12:58] years but not no this is this is easier
[13:00] it's done immediately it's sold so yeah
[13:02] thank you well done good job good job
[13:04] guys there's two more H cars left today
[13:07] correct that we're selling which is in
[13:09] 15 minutes we have the million mile
[13:12] Ram which you just told me and it it
[13:14] really burst my bubble that because it
[13:16] is tmu it is not officially your highest
[13:19] mileage vehicle ever sold on cars on
[13:21] this Ram kenon so here's the deal all
[13:23] right we are we are very scrupulous
[13:25] unlike some people I'm not going to name
[13:28] names because I don't want bar hooie but
[13:29] we are very scrupulous and um so what
[13:33] happened was it hit a million miles the
[13:35] odometer stopped correct tmu if the
[13:40] odometer has stopped yes well it
[13:42] actually goes to 99,9 that's even more
[13:44] of and and it's funny cuz I took it to
[13:46] CarMax for an appraisal and they're like
[13:48] wow this truck has pretty low miles on
[13:50] it and I was like I need to tell them so
[13:53] I I did tell them that hey you know it
[13:55] turned over a million and that's that's
[13:57] where it resets to but then I I immed
[13:59] when it happened I reset the trip
[14:00] odometer to where it has 2,000 mil on it
[14:03] since so we know it's at a million two 1
[14:06] milliion 2,000 miles but I guess if the
[14:07] battery ever goes dead like that's what
[14:09] happened to Matt far's million mile
[14:10] Lexus like the battery went dead and the
[14:12] the trip odometer went away so we don't
[14:14] know how much over a million it is it's
[14:15] it with tvarish now that Lexus had a
[14:19] digital gauge cluster except for the
[14:21] odometer right the early ls's did but
[14:24] not that one not that one okay got it
[14:26] mhm um this truck has a million miles on
[14:29] it yes I mean come on three or four
[14:32] Transmissions original engine that's
[14:34] never been aart though it has a tune on
[14:36] it last year took it to the dyo 900
[14:38] pound feet of torque on the dyo with
[14:40] thaton on the Carfax let's see what's
[14:43] going it's the it's the what's the most
[14:45] Pages you've seen on a Carfax cuz this
[14:46] one I think is 27 W look how tiny the
[14:48] cursor is in the corner I think it's 27
[14:50] 28 pages of Carfax because they took it
[14:52] for maintenance a dealer like because
[14:54] there was some point where they were
[14:55] doing a th000 miles a day so so it's
[14:59] starts life in October of of 03 it's
[15:01] purchased it's purchased October 13
[15:04] within a month that already has 7,000
[15:06] miles right so they just were like we're
[15:07] just going to do it by the end of that
[15:09] year it had 23,000 miles correct oil
[15:12] field Hot Shot truck so you need parts
[15:14] really fast to get this oil pumping out
[15:16] of the ground they're
[15:17] paying dollars a mile to get it
[15:20] immediately put it in the truck and go
[15:22] and that's what this thing did isn't
[15:24] fast enough and I've done like both of
[15:26] us have done 1,000 miles in a day
[15:27] driving but imagine you're doing it
[15:29] every day this is your life me almost
[15:31] here's a 90day jump 30,000 yeah yeah
[15:34] exactly almost 10,000 miles a month wow
[15:38] holy crap here's here's a 19-day jump
[15:41] from 86,000 Mil to 101 15,000 m in 19
[15:44] days and the that's 1,000 miles a day
[15:46] the crazy thing about it it's perfectly
[15:48] fine perfectly usable I bought it
[15:50] there's barely $1,000 worth of stuff to
[15:53] fix it to make it perfect mechanically
[15:55] but they quit driving it 94,000
[15:57] MI so I this for sale like how could you
[16:01] not like one more month and you would
[16:03] have been the guy to drive it over a
[16:04] million like how do you stop doing and
[16:06] so I bought it it's like it's the
[16:07] easiest you know pick up the car the
[16:10] ball L one y I'm not sports car one yard
[16:12] line basically picking up doing the
[16:13] touchdown it was it was so easy have you
[16:16] reached out to this craus Motors in Utah
[16:19] in Lon Utah well I picked the car up in
[16:21] person because I just had know uh no no
[16:23] it was a dealership that knew the guy
[16:25] and I just like I had to like figure
[16:27] like what's the story on this and it it
[16:30] it's a shame you never you never called
[16:32] these guys I mean they knew this dude
[16:33] came in every 3 weeks for noral change
[16:35] he was L way that I mean transmission
[16:37] fluids like he was doing he was doing
[16:38] everything yeah but he wanted it to run
[16:40] forever the transmission Replacements
[16:41] they told me it been done several times
[16:42] but that's not someone that would
[16:44] reported the Carfax I don't know how
[16:45] many miles it is on the current
[16:46] transmission but that was a thing that
[16:48] would go um you know every not qu
[16:51] million miles or so there are periods
[16:52] where this truck is doing a th a th000
[16:54] miles a day regularly in a month we're
[16:56] only a quarter of the way through this
[16:57] Carfax by the way like well the crazy
[16:59] thing is every single service was done
[17:02] at this Kraus Motors in Leighton Utah
[17:05] there's a few exceptions they sometimes
[17:07] would get uh yeah so men love Toyota
[17:09] there at 339 but wherever they were um
[17:12] oh yeah yeah they there were some some
[17:14] modball ones in there they were in Woods
[17:15] Cross they couldn't make it back Toyota
[17:17] Toyota cion Bountiful where is this so
[17:19] this is just in in the in the north of
[17:22] Salt Lake City saltan City Y wow 350 350
[17:26] no then then they left craus Motors they
[17:27] were like you know what
[17:29] right so I bought they're back I bought
[17:32] this for
[17:32] $11,000 and I thought I was being crazy
[17:35] um and I thought they were crazy for
[17:36] asking it but just for the story and the
[17:37] videos I had to buy it you paid 11 I
[17:40] paid 11 what did you do to it um so
[17:43] leaks was just thing it was like about
[17:44] ,000 to get it perfect and then at 99 or
[17:49] 99,8 miles I'm in Oklahoma going this is
[17:51] filming for my motor Tren show car
[17:53] issues we're going to the track to howad
[17:55] I'm towing a car dies won't restart the
[18:00] entire fuel system has let go where it
[18:03] overpressurized everything like blew out
[18:05] the injectors the injection pump is
[18:07] ruined and they're like if you want this
[18:09] thing to see a million miles it's going
[18:10] to cost you
[18:12] $4,000 200 miles short I was like okay
[18:17] maybe the people who abandoned it 994
[18:19] weren't so stupid after well there was
[18:21] it was just some catastrophic failure
[18:23] that was just random and it and it
[18:25] happened so it didn't hurt the the motor
[18:27] at all and I did it so it has a whole
[18:30] new injection pump injectors everything
[18:31] which is sort of a wear item on these
[18:33] I'm not sure if it was original or not
[18:35] but that was that was tough just short
[18:37] of the finish line so that means 11 I
[18:40] drove it back th in repairs another four
[18:43] so you drove back from Utah from Utah so
[18:44] you're like 16 but you never thought
[18:46] you'd get 16 out of it no this I mean
[18:48] the story of it and the enjoyment like
[18:50] it it was you did the thing you hit the
[18:52] million that's already gone not only did
[18:55] you do it and and and that probably
[18:57] eliminates some of the value in good to
[18:59] but you also the odometer is now broken
[19:01] and so right but it's still the one of
[19:05] the last pre-emissions diesels without
[19:07] all the engineered crap like nowadays I
[19:10] don't feel like a diesel is worth owning
[19:12] in comparison for if you're doing this
[19:13] oil fit Hot Shot stuff because the
[19:15] maintenance and all the the crappiness
[19:17] where they don't last as long and the
[19:18] maintenance is much higher you're better
[19:19] off getting a gasing having the lower
[19:21] mile per gon I think now than a diesel
[19:23] because of all the restrictions with the
[19:25] missions and just the engineering is not
[19:27] the same they're not invincible so
[19:28] that's why
[19:29] taken a uh political and environmental
[19:31] stance it's not political it's just it's
[19:33] just a fact that hovie hates diesels
[19:35] well it happened before with like the 73
[19:38] versus the 60 Power Stroke where they be
[19:40] fair auto makers there was an incident
[19:44] with the Diesels right and so that kind
[19:46] of put a stop to all that you may recall
[19:50] yes well even even the aftermarket with
[19:52] the guys who were deleting all this
[19:53] stuff off of it got in big trouble um so
[19:55] so it's it's tough like even deleting it
[19:57] is a risk now an existing truck and it's
[20:00] very hard it's very backdoor thing to do
[20:03] now so this is the last of an era and
[20:05] people are buying these they're buying
[20:07] 73 Fords um they're buying the Duramax
[20:09] the gmt800 Duramax Chevys and they're
[20:12] just keeping them forever if they're not
[20:13] Rusty find ones with Miles that are okay
[20:17] is tough yeah what's going on here you
[20:19] that's just a little bit of bubbling
[20:20] there the undercarriage is actually
[20:21] pretty good otherwise it's a very usable
[20:24] reasonably clean truck which for Utah I
[20:27] it's astounding it's very considering
[20:29] like they couldn't have been washing it
[20:31] every day and they're putting a thousand
[20:32] miles on it a day but look at that your
[20:34] Land Cruiser spent two years in net and
[20:35] looks like it was with the Titanic at
[20:37] the bottom of the ocean the land CR a
[20:39] couple things first off the Land Cruiser
[20:42] didn't look as bad as you think it
[20:43] looked okay you didn't see those
[20:45] pictures you
[20:46] wrong secondly uh Utah is not a state
[20:50] where they like go crazy with salt and
[20:52] brine like in the Northeast it's not
[20:54] cold every day proper Winters though and
[20:55] it's just yeah but it's not cold every
[20:57] day Here's the the the trick to
[20:59] determining whether a car is from Rusty
[21:00] place is you look at the average January
[21:02] high temperature in the place if the
[21:04] average January high is over freezing by
[21:07] a few degrees you're probably not going
[21:08] to have a rusty car if it's freezing or
[21:10] less it's going to be rusty that's the
[21:11] trait if it's if it's 40 or so you're
[21:14] all set They Don't Really salt all that
[21:16] much then because the it stays warm
[21:18] enough that they don't really have to do
[21:19] it that's why Denver is an okay place on
[21:21] cars it's not perfect and salt lak's the
[21:24] same well they yeah and they don't
[21:25] really use salt Northeast Ohio on the
[21:27] other one yeah although things are
[21:29] changing you know in terms of climate
[21:31] there it certainly gotten working a
[21:33] political stance here on the podcast
[21:35] it's got War out car spotting in Chicago
[21:38] is just fun because of the rust I've
[21:40] been going to Chicago a lot lately it's
[21:41] like oh my God that car's still driving
[21:43] with that hole in it you know I had an
[21:44] E46 330xi where the rear quarter panel
[21:47] started with a little bit of rust the
[21:48] next year it fell off like it just like
[21:51] just like completely I got to work and
[21:52] it was gone rust be quick it does
[21:54] surprise me when I am in Chicago or
[21:56] Detroit um
[21:59] the modern cars have rusts you'll see
[22:02] like a three-year-old car that's like
[22:04] already Rusty and it's like oh my God I
[22:06] can't believe how fast this happens I
[22:08] don't spend any time up there you know
[22:09] except when I come and get hit with that
[22:11] like holy crap this is amazing why have
[22:12] you been spending a lot of time in
[22:15] Chicago lately did you like that segment
[22:17] that was nice transition so uh my new
[22:21] co-host since you have taken up with
[22:24] Kennan here I have April Rose and we do
[22:28] a show called Good Morning YouTube she's
[22:30] moved to Kansas to do that she's moved
[22:32] to Kansas you've replaced me and I've
[22:34] replaced you why Tyler did she move to
[22:37] Kansas um to be with me and to make this
[22:40] YouTube show yes and do you have
[22:42] anything else you'd like to announce
[22:43] here for the first time on our live show
[22:46] well no we've said that we're engaged I
[22:47] think on the on the thing or whatever
[22:50] yeah she's a she's a I'm worked with her
[22:52] for years uh doing the Barrett Jackson
[22:54] live TV coverage and uh you know just
[22:57] just recently we started uh yeah going
[23:01] out or whatever I've spent about a year
[23:03] I guess getting close or so and uh yes
[23:06] recent engagement I had dinner with you
[23:08] in April maybe a year ago we all did it
[23:11] was the social event of the year we were
[23:12] very excited social event of the Year
[23:13] Kenan was there um she's lovely thank
[23:17] you you do want to Kenan is lovely too
[23:20] congratulations congratulations you
[23:22] congratul well it's been months he
[23:23] didn't tell me you know I expect that
[23:25] you tell me things you know when when
[23:26] something major happens can can I thank
[23:28] you when something major happens in
[23:29] Freddy's life to varish he tells me
[23:32] about it I found out through Instagram
[23:34] that you had a second shot I didn't know
[23:36] you were pregnant didn't know we were
[23:38] surprised okay we went to the we went to
[23:41] the hospital I Didn't Know I Was
[23:42] Pregnant it was you okay that's true all
[23:45] right you know what I I'm going to move
[23:46] on from this other than to say I'm happy
[23:48] for you congratulations I am surprised
[23:51] that you've decided to again pursue
[23:53] marriage we'll move on unless you don't
[23:55] want to move on let's move on thank you
[23:58] very much
[24:00] okay all right uh we're two minutes left
[24:02] on the truck here did that Audi rsq8 do
[24:05] anything no it's still going 21 seconds
[24:07] in the other screen 86 Grand 86 mhm so
[24:11] they're still fighting you ever get into
[24:13] any of these modern Audi RS cars not in
[24:16] the slightest no really no I just like
[24:17] oh that's expensive you like Audi's I do
[24:19] like Audi's yes that's expensive they're
[24:21] going to get cheap I know that's when
[24:23] I'll probably be interested right wait
[24:25] would you do so when what's going to be
[24:27] the first one to get under 50 is is it
[24:28] going to be an E I think this one's
[24:30] let's see what happens is it going to be
[24:32] the the e63s wagon or is it going to be
[24:34] this that gets under 50 Grand uh under
[24:37] 50 mhm when it gets into used car you're
[24:40] talking about the RS6 wagon yeah do you
[24:42] think that was an RS6 what I say idea
[24:44] that was oh sorry I'm sorry but you know
[24:47] what I mean I just don't follow any of
[24:48] that but yeah you but you do eventually
[24:50] what is the price cap you know you say
[24:52] that by the way you have like5 $300,000
[24:54] cars what is the price cap but I don't
[24:56] buy I don't buy the new ones and ride
[24:58] the depreciation like that I I don't the
[25:00] expensive cars are not something that
[25:02] are depreciating right I try to tell
[25:04] that to everybody I got a neighbor who's
[25:06] got I'm not going to say what a car it
[25:07] is because it's a they'll you know but
[25:11] people are like oh he got this whatever
[25:13] like now he's and I and I'm like that's
[25:15] a crazy thing to buy a car an $130,000
[25:18] brand new SUV and people are like well
[25:20] you have your cars right and I'm like
[25:23] you don't understand I can afford that
[25:26] more than I can afford a new G L S63
[25:29] right whenever the game show that we did
[25:31] comes out cuz you've been filming a lot
[25:32] of them it'll be weeks or a month or so
[25:34] but uh yeah we were talking about the
[25:35] 456 and people were paying 264 new for
[25:38] an automatic 456 inflation adjus you got
[25:40] to figure like that's probably a 400
[25:43] number today and it's now worth 40 how
[25:45] do people crazy I can't that's that's
[25:47] real wealth you can just write off be
[25:49] like eh see the B who are the bids on
[25:52] the ram right now because they're kind
[25:53] of going back and forth it's at 11 so
[25:55] it's that what I initially paid for it
[25:57] um are they new here we go see who looks
[26:00] like they're new new biders am I
[26:02] bringing some new people to side no
[26:03] there's some other people there's some
[26:04] repeats this West Power 13 West power
[26:07] was uh has been in it for days but I
[26:09] don't know if he's out so are you got
[26:10] 100% Jake watching this one he is he is
[26:13] paying attention and watching the uh
[26:14] comments just in case I miss anything so
[26:16] Jake I brought on to edit the good
[26:18] morning YouTube but he's also another
[26:19] YouTuber in town yeah do I know 100%
[26:22] Jake I don't think you've met him no no
[26:24] why not um well his he's personal life
[26:27] probably is normal enough to where it
[26:28] doesn't interest you to ask all these
[26:30] questions right checking for 11 very
[26:33] nice okay that's reasonable that is
[26:36] about what I expected I was like the
[26:38] bottom on those is 10 grand if they're
[26:40] not Rusty and that's yeah and that's
[26:43] going to be the bottom car yeah a
[26:45] million miles exactly miles right this
[26:47] person asked a question earlier in the
[26:49] auction you know everybody gets annoyed
[26:50] because there's a lot of questions
[26:52] throughout the auction people like this
[26:53] guy's not a bitter he's just asking
[26:54] questions yeah um but this dude actually
[26:57] asked a question he is this truck
[26:58] running the factory lift pump mhm I
[27:01] don't know if you answer it or not I did
[27:02] I believe it is he actually bought the
[27:04] truck so okay well fantastic it's always
[27:06] nice when that happens my 355 guy was
[27:08] asking questions I answered him he
[27:10] bought car yeah I didn't really know
[27:13] because I sort of looked up what an
[27:14] aftermarket lift pump would look like
[27:16] and I was like oh that's definitely not
[27:17] in there so yeah because it's it's all
[27:19] it's all Factory so you lied to the man
[27:21] no I I think I said I don't believe I
[27:22] believe it is on the factory I don't
[27:24] know if it's original uh you have a lot
[27:25] of cars it is interesting people ask
[27:27] detailed questions about is if you're
[27:28] going to be able to specifically know
[27:30] the anwers I mean that's the kind of
[27:31] question that you ask if you're into
[27:33] these trucks and you really know them
[27:34] and that kind of thing wonder what he's
[27:35] going to do with it one use it right
[27:38] next million miles maybe certainly
[27:40] possible there's there's ones with two
[27:42] three million miles on them so it's not
[27:43] that unusual is that true two or three
[27:45] million like semi- trucks yeah well not
[27:47] semi- trucks no just no but like semi-
[27:49] trucks do yeah you know semi- trucks
[27:51] when you buy them come with a one year
[27:52] 100,000 mile warranty that's crazy M you
[27:57] can up it to two 200 3
[27:59] 300 amazing so you got two cars sold
[28:02] here today thank you nice work gentlemen
[28:05] yeah no Reserve have you sold anything
[28:06] today have I sold anything today no I've
[28:08] not sold any of my one Cars yeah there's
[28:11] one more the bell of the balls ending in
[28:13] a bit you know the rarest of the rare
[28:14] right there but uh yeah all right let's
[28:17] do questions okay okay all right uh I'm
[28:20] just going to go down the list here and
[28:23] we'll see what
[28:24] happens um what is the difference
[28:26] between cars and bids live and this car
[29:28] it looks like a puffy 911 I think it
[29:30] looks like a a yeah a G Series 911 stung
[29:33] by a puff marshmallow man at1
[29:36] specifically this Fell's standing by
[29:37] this thing like look at my marshmallow
[29:39] car yeah if we just I've got a
[29:40] marshmallow car right here in our friend
[29:42] group we just call it puffy we call it
[29:43] puffy the 911 I like it I mean do they
[29:45] seem undervalued to you this here is no
[29:48] cuz what do they sell for they million
[29:50] for a 911 that's puffy
[29:53] oh like this compared to getting a 993
[29:56] Turbo S N puffy yeah that's like a 600
[30:00] car or just get a regular 993 turbo or
[30:02] regular 93 none of those cars are puffy
[30:04] only this one is Puffy there're felt
[30:05] this one
[30:06] is I suppose you bought you bought the
[30:09] right car obviously the 918 hyper car
[30:12] Holy Trinity it's cool but there there's
[30:15] it's it's technology that's going to be
[30:16] topped over and over again forever with
[30:18] the hypercars and crer GT is is not
[30:21] something that could ever be topped D so
[30:24] I feel it I feel okay next question from
[30:26] Mark Johnson which sounds fake hovie I
[30:29] love good morning YouTube where did the
[30:32] idea originally come from well
[30:37] um I think it was just what could we do
[30:40] together um because she comes from a lot
[30:43] of Television Broadcast movie background
[30:46] and she never wants to admit that she's
[30:47] a YouTuber April it's just I I'm not a
[30:50] YouTuber I'm a broadcaster I'm an actor
[30:53] I'm and so YouTuber is a dirty word to
[30:56] her well so she doesn't respect our
[30:58] she's from the I get hired to do this
[31:01] job and I do it where we YouTubers we
[31:04] were well we wrote for auto trader or so
[31:07] we were making videos Can companion
[31:08] pieces to our videos but we started
[31:11] doing videos with no intention of really
[31:13] making money it was just like it was
[31:15] just a thing to do and it was it seemed
[31:17] like a crazy thing to okay you're going
[31:19] to have to work for years and make no
[31:21] money right you know building this up
[31:23] and um but I I the format idea I didn't
[31:27] see someone doing sort of a YouTube
[31:30] Morning Show where they're talking like
[31:31] not really the view but sort of that
[31:34] sort and the initial thought was to do a
[31:35] longer form sort of like a podcast where
[31:37] it's a general topic sort of like a a
[31:39] news show but then we realized people
[31:41] don't want to commit to a really long
[31:42] one so we just would film five 15 20
[31:46] minute episodes and uh just just put
[31:48] topics out obviously it wasn't supposed
[31:50] to be as car focused as it was but the
[31:52] car videos tend to do better so usually
[31:55] every other video is about cars and I
[31:57] just wanted to broaden my palette as far
[32:00] as other things to talk about on YouTube
[32:01] CU which you don't you don't really do
[32:05] much of when you do the one thing your
[32:06] your y thing you get just absolutely
[32:08] annihilated but yeah he did he did a
[32:11] couple of those house reviews which were
[32:12] awesome that's true that was great your
[32:14] house you certainly can here's a
[32:16] question from um Don DeMarco uh hovie
[32:21] when are you guys getting
[32:23] [Music]
[32:25] married that's Don we haven't dat yet
[32:28] you haven't set a date we haven't set a
[32:29] date yet uh here's a followup from Don
[32:32] dearco
[32:34] um what uh what what day are you kind of
[32:36] thinking uh will you be inviting
[32:38] colleagues not this year but we are
[32:40] going to do an engagement party when the
[32:42] house is done and we're going to throw a
[32:44] big party for everybody and I can set up
[32:46] basically I have five acres to set up a
[32:48] concore I even have a pond that people
[32:49] can pull around and do all this stuff
[32:50] here's a question from Dave Del Monaco
[32:53] um are you going to host one of these
[32:55] parties in San Diego no not likely
[33:00] no so you would have to travel you would
[33:02] not go because witch's a connection Doug
[33:04] does not travel to somewhere if there's
[33:06] a
[33:07] connection unless it's International
[33:08] he's mentioned this to all my friends he
[33:10] said unless you get married in San Diego
[33:11] I'm not coming oh so you don't even do
[33:12] that anymore no if someone if if listen
[33:15] or his house on or the place on N if
[33:18] I am the officient I will go also if as
[33:22] long as the wedding is LA area or South
[33:25] so three-hour drive but maybe if to
[33:28] someone really special if it's a direct
[33:29] flight you might do it but otherwise no
[33:32] I I get it m if I got married in San
[33:34] Francisco to somebody there there's it's
[33:37] a 5050 chance no I would go I'll tell
[33:39] you this if Ed Bolan did a vow renewal
[33:42] I'd go to that because I love Atlanta
[33:43] you think they have snakes in it
[33:45] incorporate that into the V does it ever
[33:47] talk about snakes with you no I mean his
[33:50] his snake died and I think they replaced
[33:52] it with a lizard I thought he had a
[33:54] collection like a number of no he just
[33:56] had the big the big one yeah it was very
[33:58] sad I got a couple I got a couple other
[34:00] ones I got a couple other ones okay all
[34:02] right um this question comes from
[34:07] uh you're making up the names so it's
[34:10] this be real this is going to be a real
[34:12] question this is going to be a real
[34:13] question all right um blank marry or
[34:17] kill the McLaren F1 the Lexus LFA or the
[34:20] F40 okay kill the LFA yeah that's an
[34:23] easy yeah I would say so kill it dead
[34:26] mhm that's all the rest I didn't want to
[34:28] I didn't even want to do the rest of the
[34:30] question I just wanted to do that yeah
[34:32] I'd blank the F1 and marry the F40 right
[34:35] wouldn't you no you marri the F1 well
[34:39] just from the value standpoint or like
[34:40] you're married you're stuck with it for
[34:41] the rest of your life so you have to
[34:42] maintain it the only person who's going
[34:43] to benefit from the value at the end is
[34:44] is the person who's dead um or you're
[34:47] probably not you because you're dead the
[34:48] Next Generation so John feny who wrote
[34:52] that question in he didn't say I was
[34:53] stuck with it for the rest of my life
[34:55] using it as an opportunity to kill
[34:59] you really hate that car you love the
[35:01] way it sounds I liked it at 400 no you I
[35:03] don't even think you a million is a lot
[35:05] hard as well especially when you have to
[35:07] go from neutral and then you pull the
[35:08] little ear to go in reverse and back up
[35:10] then you have to go back in the neutral
[35:11] and then in the first M it's a have you
[35:13] ever driv one no I it's so annoying
[35:15] don't okay but man the sound is
[35:17] exquisite and it does REV so fast and
[35:19] there went all of your LFA cars and bids
[35:21] listings till the end of time right
[35:24] there well I'll do a video on it if you
[35:26] guys want to okay um um Doug when are we
[35:28] going to get a Cars & bids HQ video tour
[35:30] very soon we filmed one and it's going
[35:32] to come up here in a couple of week it
[35:34] is lovely oh here's a great one oh thank
[35:36] God I got this question from
[35:38] Kyle dear hu and dog I've wanted to
[35:41] start a car centered YouTube channel for
[35:43] many years mhm and I'm not really sure
[35:45] how to go about starting my channel do
[35:46] you have any tips on what to do and what
[35:48] not to do have you had any failures what
[35:50] worked for you now be careful because Mr
[35:52] Beast got in trouble remember did you
[35:53] see this headline where got taken out of
[35:54] context where he said people are
[35:56] quitting their jobs to do YouTube and
[35:57] they shouldn't like it was something
[35:59] like that where he's like people don't
[36:00] chase your dreams you can't be me was
[36:02] taken out of context for that oh I'll
[36:04] say that in context don't quit your shot
[36:07] to YouTube but no the way that it was
[36:10] taken out of context I did this like
[36:13] this can't be replicated or something
[36:14] can you provide us with
[36:17] some information about he got mad at me
[36:20] for banging on the table so I decided to
[36:22] can you provide us with some information
[36:24] about what would you say to this to Kyle
[36:27] here does he have a unique angle and can
[36:29] he do it
[36:30] consistently yeah you have a unique
[36:32] angle with the cirks and features I had
[36:34] the unique angle with the cheapest in
[36:35] the USA they've both been copied a lot
[36:37] but we're The Originals with that what
[36:40] is the next angle with someone else whin
[36:44] diesel burst on the scene because he's
[36:46] just completely destroying the things
[36:47] like that that do you agree that
[36:48] Whistlin is the greatest living person
[36:51] oh he has the same thing of you where
[36:53] the the I don't care kind of stuff I
[36:55] mean it's it's amazing we actually we
[36:57] have a his G wagon which was crushed we
[36:59] have a box of it oh you did buy one of
[37:00] his things my buddy Nick bought it for
[37:02] me as a thank you because I took I had
[37:03] him take his Mercy logo to the racetrack
[37:06] and so as a gift he got me that which
[37:08] honestly is the finest gift someone can
[37:09] give me because I am obsessed with
[37:11] whistle and Diesel MH but as you think
[37:13] of someone else that has bursted on the
[37:15] scene that's really eclip us so that was
[37:17] the question I was going to ask do you
[37:18] think it's even possible anymore we got
[37:21] started about the same time I started 13
[37:23] when did you start 16 yeah so but in
[37:25] that era 13 14 before that that I didn't
[37:30] I you had some guy an animator yeah mhm
[37:33] yes 13 14 15 that era you could do this
[37:38] is it even possible anymore it'd be
[37:40] tough it would be really hard um it's
[37:43] working with good morning YouTube Just
[37:45] because I have the existing and she has
[37:47] way more followers than me on other
[37:49] things so it's that's a easy way to jump
[37:51] started but if I I obviously I nowhere
[37:54] near the level you guys are but I think
[37:55] one thing I would consider is exploring
[37:57] other platforms too uh like really
[37:59] maximizing on Snapchat and uh CU they
[38:01] seem to be paying the most right now and
[38:03] then you know really playing a lot more
[38:04] with short form that seems to be like
[38:05] the the future I don't know if it'll
[38:07] always be that way it's nice that Tik
[38:08] Tok has like lengthened the like they
[38:11] realize people are watching videos
[38:12] longer so like you have to be over a
[38:13] minute to be monetized you're exactly
[38:15] right there's probably it's probably
[38:16] there's all these opportunities you just
[38:18] have to like figure out what it is and
[38:19] then like you said also bring something
[38:20] you need to yeah people are making you
[38:22] know really engaging shorts on yeah on
[38:25] Instagram on uh Snapchat there's all
[38:29] these Tik Tok guys Tik Tok who I didn't
[38:31] even know about M who aren't the usual
[38:34] it's not like stradman just goes on Tik
[38:36] Tok and is then the biggest right
[38:37] there's there's separate Tik Tok people
[38:39] and they kill it and then they have no
[38:40] YouTube following but it's harder to
[38:41] monetize I will say the thing that the
[38:43] one of the big benefits of of Tik Tok in
[38:45] particular is like especially if you're
[38:47] newer and trying stuff out it won't
[38:48] punish you the way that YouTube does if
[38:50] you try something and it fails it won't
[38:51] punish the algorithm doesn't punish you
[38:53] every video is analyzed individually
[38:54] when I did when I did the mamia um and
[38:56] Mercedes me out to drive the go Wing in
[38:59] in the race and all that stuff I was the
[39:00] only YouTuber the other ones was
[39:02] instagrammer and big Snapchat Tik tocker
[39:05] and all so I was I was the grandpa of
[39:07] the group oh that's the YouTuber but you
[39:09] know what you know here's a funny here's
[39:11] a funny anecdote for you that I have I
[39:13] haven't shared with the audience and I'm
[39:14] now going
[39:15] to we we had a Tik tocker we called them
[39:17] up we have we've talked to a bunch of
[39:19] them for like tips and ideas on how to
[39:21] launch a Tik talkk Channel or whatever
[39:24] and uh we said we've said to a few of
[39:26] these people what is your dream
[39:28] what are you trying to do what are you
[39:29] trying to go from this and you know what
[39:31] they say they want to be a YouTuber
[39:33] right and same with old school
[39:34] broadcasting guys with that have been
[39:37] done TV forever and like I I meet all
[39:39] these people at barar Jackson because
[39:40] there's a lot of celebrities there and
[39:42] they're just like man we really I really
[39:44] want to do a YouTube channel make a
[39:45] YouTube video and there's plenty of
[39:46] celebrities that have tried it and like
[39:48] big big names and it will Smith YouTube
[39:51] channel they right he like made a huge
[39:53] thing out of it yeah it it just doesn't
[39:55] take off realize that the YouTube has
[39:57] has the most earning potential and has
[39:59] the most sort of longevity tail it's
[40:01] certainly I'm not saying it's dying I'm
[40:03] not going to say that it's certainly
[40:04] slowed compared to wear it it's
[40:06] saturated I would say is is the there's
[40:08] just so many compared to us where five
[40:11] years ago where there was a much smaller
[40:12] pool of right million plus subscriber
[40:14] YouTubers right oh I used to get so many
[40:17] more views simply because you wanted car
[40:20] content it was either you or me and it
[40:23] was
[40:24] me well we didn't compete cuz you did
[40:26] Tuesday Thursday and I did it Wednesday
[40:28] Friday your videos were always better
[40:30] this is the thing I don't know about
[40:31] that when I was doing f40s that was
[40:33] pretty cool okay but hooie you could see
[40:36] him every day in Kansas like living like
[40:38] living it your subject matter I felt
[40:40] could change to be something much more
[40:42] entertaining like once you figured out a
[40:44] format you were married to the format
[40:46] and particularly when it started to
[40:47] reward you for new cars you were married
[40:48] to that whereas you could buy anything
[40:50] and be something stupid and like awful
[40:52] like a horrible car yeah you say that
[40:55] but then you know there's Scotty Kilmer
[40:56] that post two videos a day just ranting
[40:58] in his driveway andew and he gets views
[41:01] I mean he dies every month and quits
[41:03] YouTube every two weeks you know like
[41:05] all this stuff and it's been the same
[41:07] formula forever and he the who watches
[41:11] him I get people come up to me the only
[41:12] people I watch are you and Scotty and
[41:14] I'm like are you mentally unwell like I
[41:16] don't know I don't know how that could
[41:19] be right how do you watch this new so
[41:21] there yeah there's definitely the
[41:22] formulaic and and the success with that
[41:25] and then you can see like tvarish P
[41:27] pivoting to when he posts it's an event
[41:29] where he used to be more consistent and
[41:31] then it works with cart Trek that's why
[41:34] carart Trek's not on my channel it's not
[41:35] Wiki and Wiki posts five days a week
[41:37] small stories but and you know sometimes
[41:39] they'll blow up a little bit more than
[41:40] others but over time five days a week
[41:42] it's consistence the views are higher um
[41:45] so that's why it's on his channel
[41:47] because it could it it could potentially
[41:48] blow up on my channel it happens
[41:50] sometimes it's an event on his his every
[41:52] time he posts oh my God I got to drop
[41:53] everything and watch a tar video and
[41:55] when tar posts I know crap I shouldn't
[41:57] post a video The Day toar post because
[41:59] it really does take away from mine yeah
[42:01] yeah um
[42:05] nonetheless the thing I always tell all
[42:07] of my YouTuber colleagues when I meet
[42:08] them in person from the radies rides guy
[42:12] to the throttle house guys to you to
[42:14] everyone start a business that isn't
[42:17] YouTube how you doing on that well I was
[42:21] sort of doing it before with uh you know
[42:23] Freddy's I was there oh no I mean I was
[42:26] just saying like I no take your YouTube
[42:28] audience to a business like cars and
[42:30] bids that isn't YouTube right well I did
[42:32] get an email from a guy who wants to
[42:33] start something called uh uh gears and
[42:36] gabbles gabbles and gears and they want
[42:38] me to be the figure out and I'm not
[42:39] joking it sounds like a joke but it's
[42:40] real Tyler the number of people who have
[42:42] who have seen us do this and be
[42:45] successful at it cars and bids and
[42:47] therefore think to themselves hey this
[42:49] complete idiot with his stupid
[42:52] t-shirt if he can do that I can do it
[42:56] and so the number of
[42:57] of competitor auction sites that have
[43:00] launched has been absolutely insane over
[43:02] the last we used to keep track we used
[43:04] to have like do we still keep track are
[43:06] you still paying attention fipo when
[43:07] those come up yeah yeah our director of
[43:10] operations is always keeps a tab on it
[43:12] but yeah there there was like a list of
[43:14] one point I don't remember it was like
[43:16] 85 like I think or something I want to
[43:18] tell people don't do it start a podcast
[43:20] instead mhm befriend
[43:22] hoovie F find an inroad find something
[43:26] that's it is hard this was a great pivot
[43:29] for you although talk about idiots I
[43:31] remember you wanted to code the you
[43:33] wanted to learn to code to build the
[43:35] website yourself originally you out your
[43:37] mind I know complete idiot and thank God
[43:40] you did I think I took one class in
[43:42] middle school and C++ or I don't know
[43:45] build the most basic website terrible
[43:47] I'm learning c yeah I I still edit
[43:50] iMovie which you did you kind of an
[43:52] editor now I think but you you were
[43:54] doing it forever so I have Nick over
[43:55] there he edits the videos he's a king
[43:58] and uh yeah I don't do thatmore despite
[44:02] having a like a lifetime now like on
[44:04] digital format and playing with
[44:05] technology really to make your stuff
[44:07] you're one of the most Technologic
[44:09] internet people I've ever seen like when
[44:10] our I'm not much better yeah are like
[44:12] Google meets we used to have to do for a
[44:14] company when he figured out he could
[44:15] change the background to something he
[44:16] picked a picture from my Facebook
[44:17] profile and made that the background
[44:20] giant you know what embarrassing is I
[44:22] didn't know the difference and Doug had
[44:24] to tell me what live images were when I
[44:26] was was texting him photos I would send
[44:28] him a picture of something and it was
[44:29] alive and it would just jumble for a
[44:31] second and he would like oh wow alive
[44:33] and then then finally he had to like do
[44:35] you know explain what you know what a
[44:36] live is and you can turn it off and oh
[44:38] to actually send a real photo and not
[44:40] like a brief little video thing and I I
[44:42] didn't know laughably Tech unsavvy this
[44:45] is the realities of Kansas um okay
[44:47] here's a couple of interesting other
[44:48] questions from Jared this one's for you
[44:50] I assume because the question is
[44:51] Peterbilt or Kenworth and you would be
[44:53] the only one who would know the answer
[44:54] no idea really honestly you all your
[44:57] time on Interstate 35 probably and you
[45:00] don't know what the answer to this is no
[45:02] idea Peter builts still look old school
[45:04] they look cooler I think they're more
[45:06] boxy still where the more aerodynamic
[45:08] looking right yeah no I have absolutely
[45:11] no idea but uh you know the Peter Built
[45:13] to run a little longer cabin's a little
[45:15] more comfortable they still have the
[45:16] flat nose like a you know Big Mac kind
[45:18] of we literally have no idea okay yeah
[45:21] yeah um don't have a stance How come
[45:24] every summer I drive across the country
[45:26] how come you've never visited me on that
[45:28] drive well do you do Interstate 40 70 or
[45:31] 80 which one you do where are you yeah
[45:33] so I'm uh I know where you are why don't
[45:36] you come down I'm 5 hours from
[45:38] Interstate 40 and and an hour and a half
[45:40] from 70 and 3 hours from 80 so no I know
[45:43] all this why you come visit me well you
[45:45] used to do the cross country meetups
[45:46] with fans when you drive across country
[45:47] why don't you do that anymore I'll tell
[45:49] you why I did it I did five of them mhm
[45:52] that's where I met kenon did you know
[45:53] that no I did not yeah I met kenon
[45:55] September we have probably a photo of
[45:56] the first
[46:57] of my dream car the 2006 Bugatti
[47:00] Veyron this is the person asking the
[47:03] questions dream car mhm I I don't know
[47:06] how you could own one unless like with
[47:09] strz man's documentation of it and like
[47:11] chipping the ceramic Brak and the cost
[47:13] of all that it just just seems crazy but
[47:16] it is the coolest car of the mid 2000s
[47:18] that everybody was talking about I mean
[47:20] it is it is the car is it going to do
[47:23] what a McLaren F1 did with15 million I
[47:25] don't think it ever will but but we'll
[47:28] see I mean yeah I I don't disagree
[47:30] because they did they I agreed
[47:33] wholeheartedly that it's a very
[47:34] difficult card hence why the Chiron
[47:36] exists they wanted to make it a a little
[47:37] bit easier um but yeah I totally agree
[47:40] it's a Concord moment that car for the
[47:42] automobile historically speaking it's s
[47:44] such a it just transforms things I think
[47:47] that it may someday be worth 10 really I
[47:49] would not be surprised I just if you
[47:50] look back at like the cars that were the
[47:53] most iconic icons of Iconia they all
[47:56] became really valuable and that car for
[47:58] all of its issues is you remember when
[48:01] we were that age yeah oh yeah it was the
[48:04] I me of its decade Captain slow going
[48:07] 230 miles hour whatever it was and that
[48:10] burned into my brain forever right like
[48:12] all of those things yes yep um and I
[48:15] just I agree it would be hard to own it
[48:17] would be tremendously expensive but none
[48:18] of well none of the other icons are easy
[48:20] to own either like they're all terrible
[48:22] there are days I wonder if if it's a
[48:24] better Financial play than K GT and if
[48:26] it's just was like Bugatti Veyron like
[48:30] that was the car yep I remember the last
[48:32] time I saw one just driving around uh I
[48:34] think it was for Monteray and it was
[48:36] just like man especially if someone just
[48:38] grows up it's just like you're kind of
[48:39] Star Struck you never see them ever
[48:41] especially on stock wheels I was at a
[48:43] Bugatti dealer filming and one pulled
[48:45] into the parking lot and I lost it and
[48:47] I'm like there but it's just like wow
[48:51] yeah I I don't know I have I have a
[48:53] suspicion that that car becomes really
[48:55] really really I think it's a great car
[48:57] keep going after it it's it's quite a
[48:59] machine I I'm not going to get one but
[49:01] you should I'm not saying you I'm saying
[49:03] Sebastian here should keep going for it
[49:05] um maybe hoie uh stradman I want to talk
[49:08] about stradman um you know him I like
[49:13] when that Dodge I picked it up in Salt
[49:15] Lake two years ago we hung out that day
[49:17] oh yeah you went to like a little Frozen
[49:19] y he filmed he went because I think they
[49:21] just opened they had a Lamborghini
[49:23] dealer just open a month prior and in
[49:25] Salt Lake and so we went there we went
[49:27] to lunch where' you go to lunch a burger
[49:30] get I don't it's two years ago yeah um
[49:34] what do you think of that stradman
[49:37] fella um I I think to do what he does
[49:41] and because he's still sort of vlogging
[49:43] and day in the life and posting as much
[49:45] as he does it's just exhausting like the
[49:47] the the work ethic there um the house to
[49:51] go a million over budget because
[49:52] everything was at the top like the and
[49:54] that that was the thing when I'm doing
[49:55] my place you know I get the same size
[49:57] garage cuz I can put up a steel building
[49:59] for cheap because it's Farm country you
[50:01] know where he had to do a really high
[50:03] build code requirements out in sure do
[50:06] you have to apply for permits yeah I did
[50:08] get a permit but it's an it's an a
[50:09] building there will be a tractor in
[50:11] there my Lamborghini tractor that I have
[50:14] um yes but like who you there's like a
[50:17] town that you apply to permit I had to
[50:19] drive to el doro Kansas yeah dides
[50:20] someone come out or do you just kind of
[50:22] what would stop anyone you from just
[50:24] building this building well they
[50:25] actually kind of screwed me up a little
[50:26] little bit because I put one garage on
[50:28] the far side and it was supposed to be
[50:30] on the other side or stick out enough
[50:32] far enough from the 1940s Barn in front
[50:34] of it to where say I had like a big
[50:36] trailer that I could back it straight in
[50:38] and they said no because of the easement
[50:39] with the property line you need to be 30
[50:41] feet off or something like that of the
[50:42] property line with a with an a building
[50:44] so you but it's probably they said you
[50:47] at least has to be even with your
[50:48] existing Barn that was built in the 1940
[50:51] so that's I had to do but you you live
[50:53] out in the middle I mean they're not
[50:54] driving past nobody's is going to affect
[50:57] nobody forever but because that's my
[50:58] property line that's what they said but
[50:59] why didn't you just not tell them and
[51:00] just build it in you build you can build
[51:02] a metal Barn in like an afternoon me and
[51:04] Ken could knock get out in an afternoon
[51:05] with a couple of cold ones right but
[51:07] then whenever the the urban sprawl grows
[51:10] into my area and I piss off Karen over
[51:13] the fence that building was there when I
[51:15] bought it I don't even know about that
[51:16] building do you have any idea how many
[51:17] times I've said
[51:19] that for stuff I built yesterday well so
[51:22] you're fighting your own garage build
[51:24] right now so for six cars and you'll
[51:27] spend four four cars and you'll spend
[51:29] quadruple probably what I spend or
[51:30] whatever on a 6,000 foot building so
[51:32] that's true
[51:35] mhm
[51:37] okay
[51:38] um okay here's a question from Parker S
[51:42] Parker s to you okay hoie I'm gonna go
[51:45] back to that stradman question actually
[51:46] but I want to ask this now Parker S as
[51:48] some hovie as someone from Kansas do you
[51:51] still enjoy living here even with no
[51:53] crazy car scene there's a good car scene
[51:55] in Kansas The Cars and Coffee will get
[51:57] over they in Kansas City no not in the
[52:00] slightest I bet all the Chiron are in
[52:01] Kansas City I bet the McLaren f1s are in
[52:04] are at Arrowhead Stadium every Sunday
[52:06] none no not a one it's like can you
[52:09] imagine
[52:11] though the autocross after the football
[52:13] game or maybe before I I don't know how
[52:15] any of that works yeah you'd be
[52:16] surprised I go in and it's just
[52:17] surprising what's tucked away in there
[52:20] and it's not just you know Boomer muscle
[52:21] cars and things there's a lot of
[52:22] interesting cars there it's it's very
[52:24] easy place to drive around do ever
[52:26] consider moving out of Kansas not the
[52:28] slightest no now you have kids there
[52:30] you're kind of R there if I would if I
[52:32] didn't I mean maybe Arizona would be on
[52:34] the list I think would be would be one
[52:36] that I would I think I would do why
[52:38] because I don't have to deal with
[52:39] traffic and congestion here the traffic
[52:42] I'm not I wouldn't expect you to move to
[52:44] here but why Arizona over just because
[52:46] of weather because the the weather's
[52:48] warm and I don't mind super hot weather
[52:50] um and I think the car scene there is
[52:53] really good and it's just not congested
[52:55] and you're not on top of of everybody
[52:57] all the time and I being from Kansas all
[52:59] my life I just can't I can't do this I
[53:01] can't there are how many hundreds of
[53:02] people are above us right now I can't do
[53:03] it like no
[53:06] no they're not going to hurt us it's
[53:09] still
[53:11] it's okay let's go back to the stradman
[53:13] question okay who else do you know what
[53:15] are these I don't know any you car
[53:17] YouTubers I've never any them you know
[53:19] them yeah right fine okay I mean I've
[53:22] met I've met a lot of them yeah I mean
[53:24] tell me what you think you got any juicy
[53:25] stuff no
[53:27] yeah let's start a feud right now
[53:29] with hovie hates who's a big car
[53:33] YouTuber that I can name um
[53:36] DDE no no who you got who else you met I
[53:39] went at one time I tried to get you to
[53:40] take um Parker under your wing right no
[53:44] Parker has mellowed out considerably
[53:47] from when he was young but it's just
[53:48] like normal guy progressing through his
[53:49] 20s and into his 30s it becomes a much
[53:52] more mature person and and and Parker
[53:54] definitely did that you know we all had
[53:56] our phase where we went and that was
[53:57] your influence because you took him
[53:59] under your way I did not take he did
[54:00] burn your car though it was an accident
[54:02] and it was my fault for not doing the
[54:03] recall before mon car week that is true
[54:06] yeah I thought it's lasted for 25 years
[54:09] it's going to last mine was done and
[54:10] even I triple checked it to make sure so
[54:13] the first thing I looked at when I
[54:14] pulled it off the truck I put a iPhone
[54:15] up there to look he's like I'm going to
[54:16] Shi this thing to La drive it a thousand
[54:19] miles it was fine catches fire it's fine
[54:22] yep anytime yeah anytime someone
[54:23] mentions 355 that's like the picture
[54:25] that comes up is that
[54:27] yes yes I have hurt 355 owners I have
[54:31] hurt it hurt V Bri McLaren 12C owners I
[54:34] hurt a lot the truth hurts you know
[54:37] people get mad at me too the truth hurts
[54:40] yeah hey what do you think of the Cyber
[54:41] truck I want one really MH you yes you
[54:45] know it's all electronic mhm I know the
[54:47] steer by wire thing is scary and all
[54:49] that stuff I just I just like we l it it
[54:51] was great it made so much it makes so
[54:53] much more sense just one turn and you
[54:54] turned y that's it we did parallel
[54:57] parking challenge with one and I'm not
[54:58] going to give away who won but filipo
[55:01] lost uh big it was great mhm you should
[55:06] see when you drive that around how
[55:07] people respond I can't imagine in
[55:08] Witchita a guy came up to me I was in
[55:10] the parking lot at the zoo because
[55:11] that's where I shoot and the guy came to
[55:13] me and was like I'm from Oklahoma and we
[55:14] don't have these here and what is this
[55:15] thing and how long have you had it I am
[55:17] very annoyed right now because there are
[55:19] people I was a day one reservation put
[55:22] down the money I got the invite December
[55:24] 29th that to to configure to pay the
[55:26] th000 deposit to get it it said
[55:28] delivered January to March I still don't
[55:30] have a VIN on the Tesla Facebook
[55:33] cybertruck Facebook groups there's
[55:35] people that have gotten the invitation
[55:38] after me got their Vin got the car well
[55:40] I've been waiting in Kansas did do but
[55:43] that's not really I I was in New York
[55:44] last week I saw several so and they
[55:46] build them in Texas if anything it's
[55:48] benefit you well and I that's the thing
[55:50] I I don't know because and because I had
[55:52] Rich rebuilds on we're talking about
[55:54] other YouTubers and we did a talk about
[55:55] how sometimes they can do little petty
[55:57] things like he was supposed to get a
[55:59] free or allocation or reservation of the
[56:02] Roadster the new Roadster with all the
[56:04] referrals that he sold because if you
[56:05] did referral you could eventually get
[56:07] things and he did enough with his
[56:08] YouTube channel to get one and they took
[56:10] it away and the reason they gave was
[56:12] because his videos and the quote is
[56:15] annoying I could see how Tesla would be
[56:17] annoyed with his videos I love his
[56:19] videos and I'm just wondering if they've
[56:21] gotten annoyed with me because like I
[56:22] had the one where I was making fun of
[56:24] Tesla is where I'm hugging the tree and
[56:25] kissing the tree and then the one where
[56:26] the battery blew up on a car trek and
[56:28] like it was not blew up but it just
[56:30] failed and it so I've had good and bad
[56:34] videos with Tesla and I wonder because
[56:35] I've had any negativity that they just
[56:37] have me in this Purgatory did you build
[56:40] a did you order a beast or a reggy so I
[56:42] did two day one reservations and so I
[56:46] have one as a beast and one as a regular
[56:48] whichever one comes first is the one
[56:50] that I will take and if the Beast comes
[56:52] away later then I can say hey Tesla you
[56:54] can take it on trade or or you know I'll
[56:57] give them the opportunity to take it on
[56:58] trade to get that one but either way
[57:01] you're not you don't have one they're
[57:02] pretty around have you seen one since
[57:04] you've been on first time I had never
[57:05] seen one ever and then I've seen 10 here
[57:08] they're around they're like not they're
[57:10] not common yet but they're like around
[57:12] but showing up to Cars and Coffee and
[57:13] being cool is way over it's over yeah
[57:15] it's happen now and wit top perhaps and
[57:18] the downfall quickly of prices has been
[57:21] I mean like everyone's too scared elon's
[57:23] going to soo them so the first one ever
[57:25] sells for it was wholesale dealer only
[57:28] auction for 244 and then that sort of
[57:30] opened the floodgates and like in two
[57:33] weeks there's a correction of 100 Grand
[57:34] or so which I don't think I've ever seen
[57:36] before so um tell us
[57:40] about other YouTubers oh man you just
[57:44] keep going like rattle one off or what
[57:46] you know people re suddenly you pull
[57:48] them out of that out of a rich rebuilds
[57:49] happen to be in Kansas because we have
[57:50] this whole witcha YouTube Mafia now all
[57:52] these like all these friends I said hey
[57:54] I want to be a YouTuber or they were
[57:55] doing it before and we've all just sort
[57:57] of built each other up to where it's
[57:58] there's there's about eight uh big
[58:02] bigger car YouTube channels in wi talk I
[58:05] can touch him some drama for him if you
[58:06] want so uh you don't have to talk about
[58:08] this so uh you had your 599 converted by
[58:10] eag oh yes lot going on there down in
[58:14] Texas tell us about hello tell us about
[58:18] that hello so um Dan normal guy Supercar
[58:24] bought some cars from me uh incl
[58:26] including my orange Mercy logo which he
[58:28] sold he bought that he bought that from
[58:30] me and sold it on cars and bids and he
[58:32] sold it for about what I paid for it so
[58:34] he got to enjoy the car for a while so
[58:36] um but um I sold it for what I paid for
[58:42] the car or another little more whatever
[58:44] it was but manual transmission he had a
[58:46] a spot for a conversion for a 599 and I
[58:50] discounted the car to get the conversion
[58:52] and I got his early spot in line so I
[58:54] fly down um they or drove down with the
[58:57] car and they were going to do it on
[58:59] video in a Day within 24 hours they were
[59:01] going to convert the car and it was
[59:02] successful the product was amazing I
[59:04] left it down there just so they could
[59:06] finish some things out and then came
[59:08] back and drove it from Austin to Amelia
[59:11] Island so Jacksonville area M Flawless
[59:13] they did say because it's the early car
[59:15] and we had to make cables by hand
[59:17] they're going to stretch and it's get a
[59:18] little weird so that's perfect when
[59:20] you're done with the mil ship it back to
[59:21] us because that'll be th miles we'll
[59:22] adjust the cables and by the end they
[59:24] were right like the reverse I had to
[59:26] sometimes roll the car to get it in
[59:28] reverse and like the the one two or the
[59:29] 2 three I don't remember exactly was a
[59:31] little bit harder but still easier than
[59:32] like a 348 or tester Roa you know it's
[59:34] still very SM and shipped it back it was
[59:37] great and um the I had to send it there
[59:41] one more time and I had no idea all this
[59:43] drama was going on because I got the car
[59:44] back about a week
[59:46] before all this went down my cluster was
[59:48] going crazy and they had the oh so you
[59:50] sent it to them recently I sent it to
[59:52] them recently I got it back like a week
[59:54] before all this went down oh so my my
[59:57] cluster needed to be rebuilt and I
[1:00:00] wanted them when they did the second fix
[1:00:02] they did a tune one tune gave me a
[1:00:04] little bit of a REV hang so I could
[1:00:05] drive it normal cuz these cars are so
[1:00:08] quick Revy that um like the factory
[1:00:10] gated cars are not very good because
[1:00:12] there are shift rods that Rattle and
[1:00:14] it's so hard unless you're shifting
[1:00:16] really quickly you know just getting the
[1:00:17] Rev match and all that stuff is kind of
[1:00:19] hard um but they changed it and they
[1:00:20] gave it a bigger tune and they got rid
[1:00:22] of the Rev hang and I kind of liked it
[1:00:23] that way like can we do something in
[1:00:25] between yeah and so they did that for me
[1:00:27] they gave me the latest uh shift gate
[1:00:30] that was a little bit better um just
[1:00:32] because as they were doing they did 30
[1:00:34] cars and they sort of refine the process
[1:00:35] a little bit and then I so I get the car
[1:00:37] back I'm like it's perfect this is
[1:00:39] amazing this is the best thing ever for
[1:00:42] like I'm into this car for well because
[1:00:45] the mercy L CR but it's still way under
[1:00:48] 170 6050 something like into this car
[1:00:51] that is perfection and then yeah all
[1:00:56] this drama goes down which I'm sure you
[1:00:58] guys have been following but so you
[1:00:59] you're not you didn't participate in
[1:01:00] this you don't know any more than what's
[1:01:01] been said publicly no so everything was
[1:01:04] noral when has always been okay and
[1:01:05] everything is normal well so when I was
[1:01:07] down there it was doing the conversion
[1:01:09] it was very scary because they had 10 12
[1:01:13] 599s lined up with their torque tubes
[1:01:16] and Transmissions out so these people
[1:01:18] were stuck like they couldn't still I'm
[1:01:21] waiting for 6 months a year for my car I
[1:01:23] want it back now and they come back give
[1:01:24] me my car well there it is is right
[1:01:26] there there's the transmission it's
[1:01:27] marked there there's the transaxle so
[1:01:29] they're like oh crap so then these
[1:01:30] people were stuck waiting they they did
[1:01:33] the whole backlog of cars they got it
[1:01:35] all caught up and from what I understand
[1:01:37] and what I was being told by Art was
[1:01:40] that they were going to shut down their
[1:01:42] production their conversions and focus
[1:01:44] on R&D with doing Mercy logo conversions
[1:01:47] which would be a big deal because the
[1:01:48] Delta between cors huge but I think that
[1:01:51] they were telling him that so that they
[1:01:53] could get through all the work get all
[1:01:54] the customers satisfied and then they
[1:01:56] realized that there was a bleed of money
[1:01:58] somewhere whether it be fraudulent or
[1:02:00] not where this they they were done it
[1:02:02] wasn't working but I think they told
[1:02:03] them that we're going to quit doing
[1:02:05] customer CRS for this reason and then in
[1:02:08] the middle of the night I guess they
[1:02:09] hired a couple of the people who work at
[1:02:11] eag you know behind just behind Art's
[1:02:14] back to clean out the shop entirely
[1:02:17] every piece of equipment they had a very
[1:02:19] expensive CNC machine that you normally
[1:02:21] would want to run 24 hours a day making
[1:02:23] equipment for everybody but they weren't
[1:02:25] and they kept breaking it was like 00
[1:02:26] Grand to fix and so so all those that
[1:02:29] expensive stuff maybe this is a million
[1:02:30] dollar machine I'm not sure five access
[1:02:33] Yeah clean out expensive gone and so he
[1:02:35] comes in the morning and it's it's an
[1:02:38] empty garage and this is according to
[1:02:39] Art his no no this is this is the um and
[1:02:42] there's business partners talking about
[1:02:43] it too but it was it was basically like
[1:02:45] a in there because he got partners and
[1:02:47] there was somewhere where he can do they
[1:02:48] can do an asset seizure when it's
[1:02:50] something whatever and so that's what
[1:02:52] they did and Dan's done a series of
[1:02:53] videos kind of covering so Dan was a
[1:02:55] part
[1:02:56] with eag and um he you know propped up
[1:03:00] did a lot of promotion with the business
[1:03:01] but he sort of got himself out of it to
[1:03:04] you know when they got he got other
[1:03:05] partners he was able to get himself out
[1:03:06] but he's supposed to get a commission on
[1:03:07] every single sale of a m conversion
[1:03:09] because he started the m conversion
[1:03:10] company so he's out money but I don't
[1:03:13] think he ever expected to get it
[1:03:14] honestly yeah I think yeah I think he he
[1:03:16] mentioned he so what's the latest you
[1:03:17] have you heard anything L lately are you
[1:03:19] worried to own this car now that it's
[1:03:20] been no I'm so I I really think that
[1:03:23] somebody so somebody has all the
[1:03:24] existing versions uh somebody has all
[1:03:28] all the IP someone will continue it and
[1:03:31] and there's a what is it Dr s who's
[1:03:33] doing 36 and 430s that are cheap V8 and
[1:03:35] then there Min whatever the other one is
[1:03:37] I can't remember there are a couple
[1:03:38] there's got to be somebody that's going
[1:03:40] to pick it up because it's it's already
[1:03:42] there it's already existing there's
[1:03:44] still a demand for it so well it's such
[1:03:46] a shame they could have owned that space
[1:03:47] if they had executed better but like
[1:03:50] given time for people to catch up there
[1:03:51] was real opportunity there yeah yeah MH
[1:03:53] but at least there will still be manual
[1:03:55] for
[1:03:56] about but regardless you don't have any
[1:03:59] specific Intel Beyond kind of what
[1:04:02] what's no not not really I mean little
[1:04:04] bit a little bit with art because art
[1:04:06] was texting me about it but no not not
[1:04:07] at all because he had you know he made
[1:04:09] his videos that got taken down and
[1:04:10] things so it was it was lot of drama
[1:04:12] that I was not associated with but and I
[1:04:14] actually you know paid for a spot I took
[1:04:16] over somebody's spot so it wasn't like
[1:04:17] oh let's give this influencer a free car
[1:04:19] and everybody wondered about so you you
[1:04:22] you you already had you took over his
[1:04:24] existing spot in line and I paid that's
[1:04:27] how you leap
[1:04:29] FR yes um I think DDE didn't I think
[1:04:33] they just got slotted in that got some
[1:04:35] drama because they got two cars done I
[1:04:36] think by eag so daily driven Exotics so
[1:04:40] you throwing some throwing some shade
[1:04:41] now no no I'm not at all I'm just i s
[1:04:45] the pot enough here I think but put down
[1:04:47] the ladle now um so two things what this
[1:04:50] I can't believe this 996 turbo it's a
[1:04:52] tip tip yeah 35 so I have one that that
[1:04:55] I'm almost done making into a safari
[1:04:57] that was a tip X Las Vegas ryal 146,000
[1:05:01] Mi I bought it I bought it in the 20s
[1:05:02] somewhere but the paint it had faded in
[1:05:04] the Las Vegas Sun and then they
[1:05:06] repainted it and they wanted to attract
[1:05:08] customers to rent their Las Vegas
[1:05:09] portion of1 turbo so they put glitter in
[1:05:12] it like bass booat glitter or stripper
[1:05:14] glitter in it to just attract people and
[1:05:15] that's faded it's horrendous so it's
[1:05:18] tough yeah do you have any explanation
[1:05:20] for this car why it exists no I do not
[1:05:24] uh-uh I saw it and I I saw it in an
[1:05:26] inperson you know live auction and I was
[1:05:29] like okay well I just have to own it and
[1:05:31] see what this is all about even though I
[1:05:32] had 190,000 mies this is a tip mhm they
[1:05:35] did sticks though right they did sticks
[1:05:37] yes they did stick panels I I think
[1:05:39] there are some stick panels out there
[1:05:41] how much time we got left on this
[1:05:42] auction what do you four minutes or
[1:05:44] whatever this is already a little more
[1:05:46] than what I paid for it but I'm sure I
[1:05:47] have more than this into it with repairs
[1:05:49] and things so mhm see yep I did one I
[1:05:53] reviewed one it was great the fact that
[1:05:55] the panel door
[1:05:56] a exist and B can be open from inside I
[1:05:59] mean like this thing is an insane
[1:06:01] automobile MH rear cup holders rear air
[1:06:03] conditioning I think for no no
[1:06:05] passengers yeah yeah it's very odd the
[1:06:07] door poppers which is that what's what's
[1:06:10] the is that is that the last car that
[1:06:11] has poppers probably I forgot about that
[1:06:13] on your key fob right on your key fob
[1:06:15] for side doors probably cuz it doesn't
[1:06:17] have exterior door handle cu the pan
[1:06:19] makes no sense why they just put door
[1:06:20] handles in it CU it looks cool so I did
[1:06:24] the whole Top Gear trick with it as a
[1:06:26] tribute to uh James May and there's a
[1:06:29] friend of mine in Kansas his last name
[1:06:30] ISM and so the door when you open the
[1:06:33] door it was old Meers cocktails but then
[1:06:35] when you open the door it said o
[1:06:38] and so I I did a play on it with
[1:06:40] the door I so decided to take it off for
[1:06:42] the sale like I thought people could
[1:06:43] Envision their own name or business on
[1:06:45] the side or whatever but that was that
[1:06:47] was the joke um 190,000 miles on it and
[1:06:51] I know when I bought it I had I think I
[1:06:53] had a receipt for the engine replacement
[1:06:54] they announced it as having the replace
[1:06:56] because they they love to pop the timing
[1:06:57] chains on these two L eotechs but I
[1:06:59] don't I can't find I can't find that
[1:07:00] receipt anymore yeah they're not very
[1:07:01] durable um when I was working at the
[1:07:04] Chevy store Chevy Cadillac BMW Cobalt
[1:07:07] SS's that year these which we we had
[1:07:10] some panels but no SS's and Chevy
[1:07:12] Cadillac BMW so the Cadillac store had
[1:07:15] the Northstar problem the BMW store
[1:07:19] had I mean the hottest car was the m6
[1:07:22] and we had the C6 Z6 and those were the
[1:07:24] two like
[1:07:26] and the sales guy says hey man you want
[1:07:28] to look at a Cobalt or a 760 LI right it
[1:07:31] was a fun place to be a Salesman but the
[1:07:34] ones we sold the most of obviously
[1:07:35] because were in Kansas in trucks and 07
[1:07:36] that body style the 800 had just gone
[1:07:38] away and they moved on so the new 07
[1:07:39] trucks the new 07 Escalade you were
[1:07:41] there 07 07 was my first year so it was
[1:07:44] a big year and GMAC was still V10 BMWs
[1:07:47] yes you had uh yeah the new new Tahoe
[1:07:51] had just come out right new Tahoe yeah
[1:07:53] and the Z71 Taho over there too the
[1:07:55] Escalade had just been redesigned it was
[1:07:57] a big seller oh and it was a cataly
[1:07:58] store too yeah mhm they were they were
[1:08:00] this range was 60 to 70 grand on the
[1:08:02] Escalades depending on options and then
[1:08:03] you also had the STS you had the STS we
[1:08:06] had the xrv how does a dealership like
[1:08:08] that prevent those trash cars from just
[1:08:11] piling up while you're just making money
[1:08:12] Handover fist selling trucks it was you
[1:08:14] know what I mean it was so I know that
[1:08:17] um the owner of the dealership who had a
[1:08:18] home in Arizona gave up on the xrv and
[1:08:21] just shipped it to his
[1:08:22] house um I remember that um I not that I
[1:08:26] worked for the dealership but I remember
[1:08:27] the witcha Lexus store had an LFA for
[1:08:30] almost two years and couldn't sell it um
[1:08:32] but speaking of sales oh is going $7500
[1:08:36] I mean they jumped the bit of grand and
[1:08:37] got it so all right that's dude that's
[1:08:39] the move did that on my Land Cruiser and
[1:08:41] he killed it I thought it was insane
[1:08:43] like nobody else everybody big buck con
[1:08:46] y uh what else that all um met or
[1:08:51] exceeded my expectations so thank you
[1:08:53] very much gentlemen for the sales yes
[1:08:54] all right I got a couple other questions
[1:08:56] before we go let's round this off with
[1:08:58] some final hooie questions hovie next
[1:09:00] thing to change at the farm this was
[1:09:02] from Vlad your Russian fans are watching
[1:09:04] all right next thing to change at the
[1:09:06] farm after the house garage and pond
[1:09:08] next thing to change out there um in
[1:09:11] addition to yeah everything and what
[1:09:14] else that's what they wants to know I
[1:09:17] think yeah just liveing it and finishing
[1:09:19] it out and I really and thinking about
[1:09:22] lighting and and you know how like Jay
[1:09:23] Leno has his drop light show light in
[1:09:26] the middle and stuff like that I just I
[1:09:27] really want to make that space seem
[1:09:31] special and cool and just fig figuring
[1:09:33] it out because it's I feel like it's my
[1:09:34] forever place but you want to be like a
[1:09:36] Kansas J Leno no I'm just talking about
[1:09:39] the lighting like he pays attention to
[1:09:40] the lighting and things and and it's so
[1:09:42] nice as you have this now to not like
[1:09:44] find a parking lot outside to film right
[1:09:46] right now you've talked about that the
[1:09:48] hell of the distractions and the noise
[1:09:50] and things and starting over boy isn't
[1:09:52] that the truth uh here's a question
[1:09:54] here's a hoopy question for you from
[1:09:56] John D do you have any view on the 1992
[1:09:58] Lexus
[1:10:00] SC300 no I mean not really everybody
[1:10:03] talking about super tuxedo 2JZ one with
[1:10:06] the manual they're very rare but I I had
[1:10:08] one on my dealership uh 29,000 miles
[1:10:11] that had BBS basket weaves and for OE
[1:10:15] yeah and it uh I sold it for next I it
[1:10:18] was it was still under 15 I remember
[1:10:20] this is over 10 years ago and you know
[1:10:21] what they never really went anywhere
[1:10:22] after that despite despite the fact that
[1:10:24] people talk about them like they're mhm
[1:10:26] oh here's a question from Mark what do
[1:10:27] you guys think of regular car reviews oh
[1:10:30] I love RCR yes
[1:10:32] and well I've texted him a few times
[1:10:34] I've never met him in person Nick the
[1:10:36] Roman uh is actually one of our he
[1:10:38] writes for us on cars and bids he's an
[1:10:39] auction writer for us a really wonderful
[1:10:42] person they're both I think just
[1:10:44] brilliant writ he writes the jingles he
[1:10:46] writes writes and does the jingles but
[1:10:48] they're both brilliant Brian is is great
[1:10:50] too yes he was wanting to come to Kansas
[1:10:52] and and do videos he's he's looking for
[1:10:55] collab and that so he's been reaching
[1:10:56] out to people um for that and I really
[1:10:59] hope he comes to Kansas we've talked
[1:11:00] about it brilliant writer brilliant
[1:11:02] writer Chase writes where does your
[1:11:04] obsession with gmt800 Escalades come
[1:11:06] from that was Prime season for me I mean
[1:11:10] of course the Escalade or the H2 wasn't
[1:11:12] in every episode of MTV Cribs my dad got
[1:11:15] an H2 brand new thought it was stupid it
[1:11:17] wouldn't fit in the garage the the third
[1:11:19] row seat was only one seat they didn't
[1:11:21] tell him that when it showed like what
[1:11:22] am I going to do with this did you know
[1:11:23] that so the H2 row because the spare
[1:11:26] tire took up so much of the cargo area
[1:11:28] the H2S third row was only half the
[1:11:31] cargo area the other half was the spare
[1:11:33] tire we've sold I this is I'm dead
[1:11:36] serious I was nearly in tears no that he
[1:11:38] was getting rid of that cuz I thought it
[1:11:39] was so how long did he have it less than
[1:11:41] a month because it it wouldn't fit in
[1:11:43] the garage and then the Third Road thing
[1:11:45] because we had you know by the time
[1:11:46] grandma and the kids and the dogs on the
[1:11:48] road trip like it it didn't work yeah
[1:11:50] and so he switched that forg picture a
[1:11:53] 2003 Escalade I'm getting there and then
[1:11:55] he got an Escalade Platinum this doesn't
[1:11:58] have it but you can see the track for it
[1:12:00] I see it I see exactly so you had all
[1:12:02] these cards so the Escalade Platinum was
[1:12:04] the one that that he thought okay this
[1:12:06] is the coolest thing ever was it like to
[1:12:08] grow up around such fine automobiles
[1:12:10] well he didn't realize that the they did
[1:12:11] the Platinum because the uh 07 was
[1:12:14] coming out so he bought that one uh the'
[1:12:16] 06 and paid 70 grand for it and then
[1:12:20] less than two years later they offered
[1:12:21] less it was under 30 he was like this is
[1:12:23] the most he didn't realize there was
[1:12:24] going to be a new Escalade
[1:12:26] when I didn't think that the
[1:12:27] appreciation would be that bad he said
[1:12:28] it was the most money ever lost on a car
[1:12:30] was was that one you had an SV Platinum
[1:12:33] ESV Platinum which I had eventually a
[1:12:35] rip tide blue ESV Platinum he had cool
[1:12:37] cup hold those wheels that almost looked
[1:12:39] aftermarket cuz they were so big back
[1:12:41] then of course they probably 20s my
[1:12:42] current is the factory accessory 20s
[1:12:45] that are on it that are on mine a 2005
[1:12:47] but I like the short wheelbase better
[1:12:49] just because it's so much easier to park
[1:12:50] and just get around I'm going to ask one
[1:12:53] final question okay one final question
[1:12:57] oh boy
[1:13:00] uh this is a tough one one final
[1:13:07] question are we still
[1:13:09] live
[1:13:14] okay
[1:13:16] dear
[1:13:19] hooie uh what car do you miss the
[1:13:23] most H that you've sold
[1:13:27] the SLS was a tough
[1:13:29] sale it was it was a tough sale happed
[1:13:31] why did you sell that car did you get
[1:13:34] yourself into another another Financial
[1:13:36] dog it's it's a it's a lot to redo a
[1:13:39] house and had a barn and all that stuff
[1:13:41] and uh April 15th is coming up which I
[1:13:44] do have to write a check that's H's
[1:13:45] nightmare every year so I have to write
[1:13:48] a check to the government he's making
[1:13:50] some cash doing this and it was just
[1:13:53] like oh but here's here's the thing I
[1:13:54] got I got the SLR or SLS in 2020 I got
[1:13:58] the SLR in 2022 I spent so almost two
[1:14:02] years with the SLR now I'd go into the
[1:14:05] garage the two are right next to each
[1:14:07] other I'd go in the SLR nine times out
[1:14:09] of 10 and that's what I'd realized even
[1:14:12] though they're very different and you
[1:14:14] know one's a lot more cross country
[1:14:15] usable the other one's like a it just
[1:14:17] felt so much more special to get in the
[1:14:19] SLR why did you not I made you a very
[1:14:23] reasonable offer to buy your SLR
[1:14:25] there's a here's an interesting uh a
[1:14:27] half price yeah yeah half price for a
[1:14:31] for a 5,000 mile SLR yeah didn't it have
[1:14:33] an electrical fire it has a car it's not
[1:14:36] an accident on the Carfax but it says
[1:14:38] like damage reported because they turned
[1:14:40] it in on insurance when the battery
[1:14:41] shorted out in the trunk so that does
[1:14:43] not make it
[1:14:45] $150,000 that that's like a salvage
[1:14:47] title price this is like every one of
[1:14:48] our sellers who submits a car to us and
[1:14:50] it's like hey man there's four accidents
[1:14:51] on the Carfax and it's got a it's got a
[1:14:53] salvage title dude no it was just a Hal
[1:14:55] storm and we got them all they got all
[1:14:56] the dents pulled out it was really no
[1:14:58] big deal everything's good there was a
[1:15:00] fire admit there was a fire it the the
[1:15:03] the fire department was
[1:15:05] called and the fire was out before they
[1:15:08] showed up there was some damage to only
[1:15:12] the wiring harness and that was a big
[1:15:15] deal because they had to replace the
[1:15:16] wiring harness in the car so it was it
[1:15:18] was a take the car you got a you got a
[1:15:20] bad you got a bad Carfax fire damaged
[1:15:23] SLR with a wiring harness replacement
[1:15:26] after the fact yeah but what did I offer
[1:15:28] you 150 maybe 127 you should have taken
[1:15:31] the 150 wonderful but salvage title high
[1:15:34] mileage coups bring 150 so like you're
[1:15:38] on the same Planet so is that true yeah
[1:15:41] I can get a bad title one for 150 there
[1:15:44] was one that I could have B and I was
[1:15:46] kind of frustrated because I got this
[1:15:47] Roadster and then oh you're months three
[1:15:50] months later I I got that was offered to
[1:15:53] me like oh that would have been perfect
[1:15:54] but it's okay yeah you why didn't you
[1:15:56] offer it to me I didn't think you'd want
[1:15:58] it you never you don't buy bad history
[1:16:01] cars as far as I know I want an SLR but
[1:16:03] I don't want to spend what they cost cuz
[1:16:04] I don't think they're worth what they
[1:16:05] cost really you still think that cuz
[1:16:07] it's a tip it's a tip SL with some
[1:16:09] Wheels torque conver like my Roadster
[1:16:12] was a almost $500,000 uh sticker on dude
[1:16:15] your Bentley aour was a 400 sticker and
[1:16:18] and it's worth get but the Bentley aour
[1:16:20] wasn't um you know in every magazine
[1:16:22] cover with a next to an F50 or you know
[1:16:25] like they were talking about all covers
[1:16:28] there's the SLR the Bugatti vron the
[1:16:29] crer GT this is the only one of those
[1:16:31] like oh my God this is the most amazing
[1:16:33] halo car ever of the mid 2000s that's
[1:16:35] not a million plus well all the other
[1:16:37] ones were better but that fairness right
[1:16:40] but but but the market reflects that
[1:16:42] it's his point and to your point if I
[1:16:45] saw one driving down the road like you
[1:16:46] made I would lose it just never ever see
[1:16:50] yeah see those I used at Aon had a white
[1:16:53] one he used drive around all the time
[1:16:54] see all the time was so cool okay there
[1:16:57] we go that's our show do you have
[1:16:58] anything else for us oh wait one last
[1:17:00] question from Fabrizio uh huie what's
[1:17:02] your experience with the Mitsubishi
[1:17:04] damante zero okay they did the AMG tuned
[1:17:07] ones yes but no I have no idea those are
[1:17:09] the gants oh Gant see I have no idea uh
[1:17:12] hooie anything else to share with us
[1:17:14] nothing no I think you dug anything you
[1:17:16] want to plug I want you plug something
[1:17:18] okay uh hooie garage um auto.com wait no
[1:17:21] no no no that's a long time ago um um
