$7,850 Maserati Quattroporte: Insane Deal!
40sThe shock of a once-$150k luxury car selling for under $8k creates irresistible curiosity and engagement.
▶ Play ClipIn this episode of Cars & Bids Live Auctions, hosts Doug, Kenan, and guest Zack discuss a variety of automotive topics, including recent auction results, the appeal of certain cars like the Panamera Turbo and RS4, and the future of the Tesla Cybertruck. They also share personal stories and opinions on car reliability, nostalgia, and the best V8 engines.
Zack is introduced as a youth journalist who has driven from Los Angeles in a 2002 BMW M3 with an SMG conversion.
A 2005 Maserati Quattroporte sold for only $7,850, despite having an original MSRP around $120,000, highlighting massive depreciation.
A 2019 Tesla Model 3 Performance sold for $29,900, showing significant depreciation from its original price, though it remains a performance bargain.
After an insane couple of years, car depreciation is returning, with deals like early Panamera Turbos under $20,000 becoming available.
The Panamera E-Hybrid uses an Audi S4 V6 with an electronic oil reading, but a $9 Audi dipstick can be inserted to manually check oil level.
Zack has owned his E46 M3 for 6 years and 50,000 miles, investing in subframe reinforcement and cooling system upgrades to address common issues.
For a $20-25k budget in New Jersey, suggestions include a Panamera Turbo, Subaru STI or Crosstrek, or a Mitsubishi Pajero.
The Aristo features a turbo 2JZ engine, making it a sleeper sedan. It sold for $12,500, offering tunability at a fraction of a Supra's cost.
This F80 M3 in Imola Red with 29,100 miles sold for $51,000. Kenan notes the crank hub issue as a common problem.
A 1990s Delica with 4WD and a turbo diesel engine sold for $6,100. It offers a unique trail minivan experience with a love seat in the back.
A Discovery 2 with 70,000 miles sold for $13,600. The hosts discuss its Formula 1 engine heritage (Buick V8 used in F1) and rising values.
A tribute Audi S1 with a sequential transmission and extensive modifications reached $120,000 but did not sell. It features a turbo 5-cylinder engine.
Kenan's top three: Ferrari 355 V8 (F129), BMW S62 (E39 M5), and Ferrari 458 V8. Zack adds Ford 427 side-oiler, Audi 4.2, and the Mercedes M113.
A low-mileage RS4 in a rare blue color with manual transmission sold for $47,000, reflecting strong values for well-kept examples.
The hosts debate the Cybertruck's success, noting its polarizing design, potential quality issues, and whether it will appeal beyond Tesla fans.
Kenan believes the T.50 will be revered but not reach F1 status due to the F1's top speed record, Le Mans win, and nostalgia.
Zack argues that FWD can be fun and offers value, citing a modified Rabbit. The Integra Type S is praised as a great one-car solution.
The episode wraps up with a preview of an upcoming track day where Doug and Kenan will race their cars, and a reminder that car enthusiasm is about enjoyment, whether it's a rare supercar or a quirky Japanese van.

01:17:17[00:19] Doug Zach Zach please tell us Zach is a youth journalism this is the only thing I know about you tell us more about I know about you tell us more about you no pressure uh start start to ComEd
[00:32] you no pressure uh start start to ComEd as Brian Brian Regan once said see do you see my point okay go ahead oh yeah the pressure will continue um really I'm entire podcast yep done some other things for you guys and some fun videos
[00:47] with modified cars for cars and bids true produced television that is no longer because the streaming Lords have clearly won and uh yeah that's why I'm in the basement and today Zach has driven here
[01:02] from Los Angeles where we are not located that's we did that whole thing yesterday or last week okay someone asked about LA and I had to explain I don't live there uh to Zach has driven in today in uh 2002 BMW M3 2002 BMW M3
[01:20] M3 mhm with an SMG conversion from a manual 2 SMG correct yeah and I'm hoping to get a Tiptronic put in it soon when I I need to make big money and then I can get that custom work done and I just that or maybe like a three-speed
[01:34] strong you know it's also since it's a slick top you should probably cut a hole for a sunroof and should add a like marer style that's exactly right that's ex which by the way is not as insane as it sounds I just reviewed a Montero that
[01:47] had a aftermarket people did this in the 90s this was like not uncommon when I sold Saturn's yes I sold Saturns did you know didn't sell the Astro in the United States with with a sunroof we had an
[02:01] astro on the lot with a sunroof aftermarket a guy comes by the dealer with a saw I'm not exaggerating any of this I'm aware of this I think I think did he come by with a saw and offer the
[02:13] they'll find you in a parking they go hey man I can fix those dents for 50 bucks I I think that is pretty much exactly what happened but he had a reputation people knew that he was the sunroof guy and so he popped by and he
[02:27] did the Astra and so that that was the AST with the sunroof so if you wanted an AST with the sunroof we had the one one of one and then it sat on the lot for 18 24 months after that like all the astras did was it sealed well was the headliner
[02:39] fit well it worked great it was just uh it was just an Astra I'm genuinely impressed because you remember when the the fifth gen Camaro came out there was a company that brought a car to SEMA that said um that was uh first
[02:54] convertible Camaro available and it was like they make the kitten that's what they do but the way the the convertible tucked against the back was very lumpy and it didn't have like a tono cover on it so anyone who waited for the actual
[03:07] OEM would have done better the beetle was the same they had a um someone did a convertible cuz the beetle came out in 98 and they didn't do a convertible till at least like 0102 but there was conversions and they
[03:21] I mean it was like the car plus 25 Grand or and then the convertible came out OE and it was like three grand more I was like well I guess I shouldn't have done that but that Saturn Astro still one of one right yeah but it's
[03:33] probably been destroyed by now let's be honest bar Jackson 500 Grand Kenan how to say I just finished moving I used my M5 to move a lot of stuff recently and it further emphasized to me I talked about it last week too I just love that
[03:47] it to do I can put all my stuff in it I can go really fast I can be very comfortable listen to my jazz like I mentioned last week I I just love that car I got in he he borrowed a pickup truck that I had and and this week
[04:00] pickup truck press car that I had and I get back in and it's on channel 36 Jazz XM it was on watercolors yeah love watercolors shout out to XM watercolors
[04:12] jazz is nice sometimes like Kenan you're just so deeply Kenan I I may or may not have done that on purpose he's got a stand on his desk to display his watch right-handed and I wear my watch on my right hand cuz it's just more
[04:24] comfortable but you know when you rest your palms on your computer it's like do you need a stand so that you can look at it no I just put it there so it's like you put on its side either have a question if you were if you were on your
[04:40] computer it still yeah take it off regardless yes I take it I just want it typing on my computer so it doesn't mess up my that's that's the level of specificity I you know exist in what do you more protective over your watch band
[04:56] or the M5 uh the depends on the watch well it sounds like you loaded moving materials into your M5 but you take the watch off and you rest your hand on things I I had blankets to protect everything
[05:09] and like if it was close to the leather I would cover it so if it moved at all it wouldn't Mar the leather Zack I'm going to blow your mind with a couple of auctions that I'd like to discuss okay I'm literally going to blow your
[05:21] mind can you pull up that quatra Porte oh yes it'll come up on this screen it's going to be great you don't have to do anything sit here you'll be C okay take a look at
[05:33] this oh boy it's gone but imagine but imagine a maroon imagine but imagine a maroon quator followed by can someone press quator followed by can someone press okay no okay there we go there it is
[05:47] it's down there that car I don't know if you could see the price uh that car sold you could see the price uh that car sold for $7,850 what $7,850 run driv yeah whoa runs and I
[06:01] don't think yeah no accidents either oh my God and it it had 76,000 Mi but like that I can't believe that either what was the MSRP on this car originally it got to be 120 or something kind you pull that well not to oh my God the pte it's
[06:17] un look at this and it looks like this is the level we're atent these things is the level we're atent these things are now selling for eight grand $95,000 I mean I understand that like cuz this is an 05 so that would not that
[06:30] I mean it's the transmission is the duo select that people didn't want and blah worried about reliability blah blah blah nonetheless nonetheless amazing right I know there's issues and I probably has a bunch of them but the point is we're
[06:44] of this vehicle 7850 now do you subscribe to the thing that there are no bad cars now cuz most things are Fairly reliable I do but not things are Fairly reliable I do but not not at that era today yeah okay valid
[06:58] remember I was shopping for cars and there was an xjs V12 for sale for like $3,000 and I went ooh V12 jaguar and my dad who knows nothing about cars new enough to say no no like it will it will break you got to think that that Quadro
[07:13] Porte we were talking it's an 05 with like 80,000 miles I think a Honda Accord an 05 Honda Accord with 80,000 Mi probably sells for more than that than 7850 well one's a depreciating asset and one is and one well one is something you
[07:26] could actually use on a but the point remains 7850 48 that's like an unbeliev qu report that was $150,000 new if you adjust for that's crazy okay kenon I
[07:38] want you to pull up another car okay we just sold a 2019 Tesla Model 3 Performance do you know what these are now going for no remember they do 060 in like 2.9 seconds or some unbelievable number you see this one the last Model 3
[07:52] Performance we sold or last 19 do you have it up I can't see your screen that 29 299 jeez the performance per dollar available especially unbelievable and I realized that it's not like the coolest
[08:06] but like but like you I've learned though that the way they feel very I rode in an Uber that was a model 3 and I thought that the shocks were filled with concrete like there was my car has KW club sports they they're good on the
[08:19] track they're good for drifting but they're very stiff this model 3 felt much worse and someone said oh well it might just be really beat the suspension could be just dead so it you got to make make sure that you're getting a good one
[08:31] right and uh next up the Tesla Model 3 no I'm kidding um no but I to but totally and and and that a lot of these cars were kind of used in a way that they were used you used as cars or Ubers or and and especially performance
[08:45] somebody probably did 87 launch starts you know yeah but like 29 Grand that car that's amazing that car has 450 horsepower and they did do didn't they do 0 to 60 in like 3 seconds or something like that I think and if
[08:59] it's well cared for cuz that car new now even with all the weird discounts I think is like in the 40s yeah which is still kind of a bargain it is so if you can get that for $155,000 off it's going to feel the same this one I mean this
[09:11] had you full self-driving capability and all that stuff like it full self-driving we're finally getting into a situation after an enormously insane couple years in the car business where cars are starting to depreciate again and I'm
[09:25] seeing some deals show up again we were talking about panamas on this last week and how like good early paname are under 20 and it's like yeah like turbos 500 horsepower cars and it's like okay finally cars are starting to get into
[09:38] reasonable you know imagine if you were if you're a like a high school student years and you save diligently you could buy yourself a paname turbo a paname turbo imagine how baller that would be yeah that would be incredible I'd want
[09:53] to be with that unlike the quatra Porte and I don't know about the Tesla I I them that these paname are relatively reliable even long term pdks are pretty well I rented one on turo a couple of like last month an older one and drove
[10:08] totally fine drove great and it was probably a $33,000 car except for the oil there was an oil thing with that car well okay here's an unbelievable thing I'm G to blow your mind the PanAm hybrid
[10:21] e hybrid in like 1819 or something used the Audi S4's V6 with a hybrid component to it and the Audi s4d has a dip stick mhm the panir it's electronically red oh right but there's a spot where the dipstick could be so if you go to an
[10:36] Audi dealer and just buy a dipstick you can put it in and read your oil really they filled it with a little plug like a plastic plug but if you take the plastic you can only read the oil electronically but if you simply buy this $9 Aude part
[10:51] you then have a manual dipstick and the oil gauge is problematic and so it's such an easy fix if you put the dipstick in does that throw the oil gauge off unusable in those cars or at least it became that way and I Googled it and a
[11:05] lot of other people have similar issues it sounds like I I've heard that the Point that's like the one thing where I'm like not into the it's yeah it's an innovation I don't feel that we really need it yeah you know right if you can't
[11:19] stick I'm not saying you got to get under the car right yeah it's not ex s and use a paper towel it's the old fuel gauge you just put a stick in right I remember because you remember you did that that movie yeah all cars go to
[11:37] heaven two right watched it loved it um should we talk about these cars that are coming up for auction by the way you can write in and uh ask us questions somehow and they're delivered to us somehow they appear on a screen
[11:50] already yes these are questions from people are already doing these this is you want to start out with some questions ask answer this Zack what's next after the M3 you've had this M3 for a long time I've had it for 6 years and
[12:05] a long time I've had it for 6 years and 50,000 mil yeah um what's next the something practical it's going to be like a vault it's not exciting wh why both at the same time oh got it in addition after that you had a Crown
[12:18] Victoria oh yes but nothing is more exciting than that so it's all downhill that's why I go get the Vault life is over I peaked you know I was a childhood actor with the crown Vick and now I'm going to work at Staples you could
[12:30] go get another Crown Victoria I've owned two one was lifted one was normal two one was lifted one was normal detective spec I love them so much um but they are so big and hard to turn and un just hard to live with if you don't
[12:45] have a large parking area like yourself that I don't know it was time to move on right right and so now you daily this you only use the S3 yeah which is expensive because they break right have you had all the the issues rars I
[13:01] haven't had those I think they were done before when I bought the car I like the first week I brought it to a shop and I I got um the whole subframe reinforcement kit from Turner they the shop welded all those on they did the
[13:14] system the two things that are known for failing besides the rod bearings were done right away and I have since never had a problem with the subframe or with overheating and I've it so so we we've spent an enormous amount of money fixing
[13:27] fixed that the that's the car guy lifestyle car person lifestyle it's especially the bmwm car lifestyle cuz a lot of the the customers were doing the test driving for a lot of these vehicles that's not unfair dude the
[13:40] forums if you find Forum post from 056 cuz mine had a weird idle thing and I and and the result pops up and it was 2006 I thought when it was new when it was new and and people like uh does anybody else's have a rolling idle when
[13:54] it's warm and the car is new and I went oh these are just flawed from the GetGo like the v10s that's but the thing is like yes they are flawed but then there there are solutions for them and once those are done the El now that's what
[14:09] everybody says and it's but Toyota they just they just do put those Solutions in all right here's what we're going to do yeah like the window regulator on this broke which is a thing they do which is what everyone says to justify a car they
[14:23] like that is actually terrible Toyota window regulars don't break Honda ones don't break right my Crown Vic regulator never broke that car had like 150,000 Mi on it damn right so Crown Vic that's true but Germany's like
[14:37] we have a new way to Mak the vindo go up and down right really breakthrough um and down right really breakthrough um sideways it is a cool car I know and it's still cool getting cooler exactly if if a Toyota like that had problems
[14:51] not supposed to but a BMW kind of you just kind of deal with them because the rest of the car is so cool yeah but you know know know more questions okay another
[15:03] question uh okay how about how about Burke asks would you buy an M car no I think we've covered that um some of us you recommend for someone fresh out of college in New Jersey apparently that's
[15:19] relevant budget 2025 Grand I think pan at turbo we've already covered this no I'm kidding Z dude you'd be the king of Jersey you'd be the King of New Jersey you got to rims but uh I mean just out of col realistically I'd want something
[15:32] roads there are terrible but some of the driving roads are nice um I don't know Subaru like either used STI or cross Trek if you want to go newer boring
[15:45] boring functional no okay no so you think Sid wants functional and boring think Sid wants functional and boring then get a uh Pajero get a Mitsubishi then get a uh Pajero get a Mitsubishi Pajero twoo it's got the G g44 G63 in it
[15:58] there you happy yeah yeah I'm happy they're red they're awesome ker what do you got give s need something good other than either either a Pajero or a Subaru cross Trek 20 25k
[16:15] 20 25k um let's see what are those for 20 grand I think of yeah get three of them get three quad throw it in the recycling bin and you drive the next one
[16:30] to buy a new car and have depreciation like what's the difference really so amount of space that the quatro PES would take up it's the same it's the Garden State Park in the
[16:44] Park in the garden what is a 20 to 25 Grand car that like a 4Runner you want something nicer and be relatively relable there are a lot of um all-wheel drive uh XI like 5 series
[16:58] range all right Ken I'm going to I'm going to challenge you here I want you to name a non BMW not even for Sam just name a non BMW in that price range or just in general just overall I don't think I can
[17:11] manage that no okay give me the you're you're you're right f105 actually would be a pretty good choice it's just Ken give me a Lincoln choice it's just Ken give me a Lincoln 25 Grand no what a nice MKT Town
[17:24] comfortable and they're good they're heinous they are they look like the bailing whale thing in the front the humpback whale but and the funeral car made it with an EcoBoost that has like 4,000 horsepower yeah believable tune it
[17:38] up a bit made about you can tune up your own you could and you could go do do sure that happens all right kenon I quiz time what is a Lincoln MKT just give us an idea of what you think it might be isn't the MKT like the isn't it the like
[17:52] the the Zack here's the thing about kenon kenan's Kenan has an unbelievable knowledge of performance cars and like the high Ferraris BMWs portrait Etc but like if you go below that he's like Honda cor I don't I don't concern myself
[18:07] X5 terms it is also an SUV isn't it yeah it was the Ford Flat it was Lincoln's versus the fort flex but it was uglier I remember I remember I do remember seeing those in my hometown that one the fort
[18:21] flexes MKX the MKX wasn't that the also the the MKX was based on the edge it was midsize they call it the Nautilus now for some reason because it goes underwater this is this is all very scintilating but perhaps we should move
[18:34] question but no no let's do auctions let's do auctions because we have a very cool car up can we pull up this M3 of course and this Aristo do you know about these aristos uh I didn't I had to read up on them do you know what uses a 2JZ I
[18:47] know that now the turbo one I mean go to this this is the turbo 2JZ it is it's a it just looks like it just looks like Alexus GS300 it's the it's the good one that we never got although you can find GS 300s in America that have 2js but
[19:02] they've been swapped so what's cool about this the turbo 2js cuz the regular GS3 came with the two not good one yeah this is good because it was not done by a guy it was done by the Toyota Corporation right and but but the
[19:14] doesn't get the good sixspeed from the Supra this has a five-speed it's an auto isn't it no you can get it with Manuel well this particular one has a four-speed auto okay well but you could swap it you and me could knock that out
[19:27] in an afternoon totally and Kenan could put in a BMW transmission that's true he car um I do think these are really this is cool I mean this is a rad sleeper sedan not quite an M5 it doesn't handle as well they feel kind of heavy I mean
[19:42] the gs's that I've driven do but with that power that's just a good time like you can put four people in it it's a incredibly tunable and you really could is cool is it's about to sell for 11 Grand uh and it's a pretty cool car with
[19:55] a two Jay-Z I mean a markv Supra with this motor is uh a 10x this price point could tune it on up you could buy this for 11 and then sell it to hurt for like 15 CU he keeps breaking his GS it's all built um can we go to the M3 I want to
[20:11] great car yeah absolutely Ken please tell us about this this 2018 BMW M3 the competition package so the so I one of the things about the f80 generation M3 I like is a lot of them were ordered in individual colors um so BMW individual
[20:24] is their custom Uh custom part of BMW that will do unusual color this one was ordered in emo red which is one of my favorite Reds E39 M5 was offered that color E46 M3 was oh that was the E39 M5 red is that the8 red uh
[20:37] correct yeah the early 2000s red which looks really great um but this car it comes with some some nice equipment relatively low mileage 29,100 mies it's got the DCT um as opposed to a manual but it these cars are just are just such
[20:52] excellent buys I know you're not the biggest fan of how they drive um but I think like for the money now and the sizing um I I like them a lot I think they're one of the better looking M3s too Z tell us about your M3 thoughts
[21:06] compared to your M3 your f80 thoughts compared to your M3 I think that um this was my this is my favorite generation besides the 46 I think this is the I think this is the best looking let's say modern M3 like you could see where
[21:22] all know we've all complained enough about the new ones but I think this just is a great looking car the engine is super powerful it looks modern inside but it's not just a wall of screens the only thing is these Road a bit stiff
[21:37] like they're a little Snappy and the bit stiff but I think this is I think this was kind of the last gas before things got super digital yeah you know kenon go 49250 I don't really know what these things go for
[21:52] anymore um I used to do all the reserve setting for this business and I don't do that anymore it was a lot it's a lot we have four people who do it now I feel podcast and you talk about prices and you just know everything front back and
[22:05] now I don't well now I lost all that y but 495 what an MKT is you're having him explain it right badly um what do you feel about
[22:18] these you said you don't like the way they drive I just like the I like your I like the analog and to me each successive generation has gone away from I think the new one is amazing oh interesting I don't mind the grill okay
[22:32] well actually yeah it's despite my love of BMWs of Our Generation like I I tend the grill is going to be like the wing on those on those super Birds it's going to be like oh it was so ugly and then in 30 years people be like oh cool no yes
[22:47] 30 years people be like oh cool no yes no yes no yes I don't think so I'll bet you $5 not accounting for the inflation that I would win the bet for in 30 years okay take that bet because what we need to do is find someone that was alive and
[23:00] remembers when the Superbird came out and and ask them how did you feel when thought it was cool then you're wrong but if they say we thought this was the dumb thing cars there are other cars the the slant noes right nobody bought that
[23:14] headlights and now every was like oh my God I I still feel I got a slack ball I don't it look they just look fast I think the SL no just looks fast but in about it was an expensive option but it was also kind of like a questionable one
[23:30] as no they get bring they get crazy money oh all right they get the kind of money that Ken and spend M5 every year that's a lot a lot yeah carbon buildup that's a lot a lot yeah carbon buildup right not hope you drive it
[23:48] just awesome sedans please enlighten us on the following thing cuz these people are bidding at the minimum increment I want to hear your thoughts on how you would address a bidding situ sitation would you like throw down a 53k bid here
[24:00] water or would you keep going minimum trying to wait them out well it's at 5500 I mean I've heard from you that you should take bigger swings to scare psychologically if if if someone else is like oh okay I can do another hundred
[24:14] another 100 and if they see four grand come in then they're afraid and they're backing off who am I fighting against so now for me if you don't have unlimited funds you're also playing a bluffing game so I can throw on that $4,000 more
[24:27] and man I hope that someone doesn't have five right it's an interesting it's a really interesting observation of humans of like oo which one's going to win don't know but so far the last Bunch it's all been $250 increments but which
[24:42] I think now we mandate a $500 increment over 50 Grand which is why it's switched over 50 Grand which is why it's switched to 500 but um 80 grand new I mean it has on it they're they're relatively liable they have one big problem which is the
[24:54] crank Hub thing um but that they're the what thing the crank Hub on the front of the engine it's two separate parts and so that the oil chain the my attached to one timing is related to the other they can shift places and when
[25:09] the P story of Freaky Friday that's that script yep so there are there are what are there are what are called keyed CR Cubs which uh which lock together as one issue anymore it's about oh I think it's usually about $5,000 to fix imagine if
[25:24] Kenan had this knowledge just generally about cars but he only has BM well I about cars but he only has BM well I only on cars Sol tring buy cool stuff and I don't have kenon I got to like go on forums if I had Kenan who could just
[25:36] what you want to look out for on the count that would be great but instead he knows about the crank Hub on the f80 sold by the way for $51,000 boom that's a lot that's a great car so maybe throwing down the $53,000 bid like I
[25:50] play in this particular case maybe I don't know I always wonder about it what is someone's like what is what is the right tolerance and what is the right situation in which to do it um and I'm a big fan of just like be aggressive yeah
[26:05] yeah know your number and then set aggressive bit because the problem is and you keep going up by 500 someone said that that mentally their stopping point was 50 at 50,500 they're like I'll just go one more yeah and then it's 51
[26:19] lose it over 500 bucks and then next thing you know it's 63 Grand and they're still bidding whereas if you had just knocked in a 58 bid one of my favorite moments I I I used to produce a show called drive on NBC sports with Chris
[26:31] Harris and and Mike Spinelli and and Farah was on it and mustow and uh and Farah was on it and mustow and uh and Alex Roy and Mike wanted to buy a new remember this you guys filmed this I remember watching filmed it so we're in
[26:43] Alex Roy apartment and there's a Jaguar I think was it yes that was up online and Mike Mike's like I have 12 it was at 9 he's like I can spend 12 and they're like all right it's only at 9ine he goes in the bathroom and literally as he
[26:57] go 15 but we hit go for you and he's like what and it was you know Harris of course the mischievous person he is was just egging everything on but it was it was a great indicator of how Mike went well okay well okay and now he's own
[27:10] that car for six years is that right he has it no way that's ended up buying it and he daed it and he still has it and it's beautiful such a good looking car so funny it's the little nudge right right and it feels little and that's why
[27:22] right and it feels little and that's why you want pull up this Mo please you know about these I have so many questions about you get in an accident with them I yeah I know that very dangerous if you hit a
[27:38] at a place where that might occur you drive it around a Beach Community well do you know what these were originally pitched as what military vehicles that's picture if you crash into you can see the military riding around in that yeah
[27:54] down because of the lack of ground clearance and apparently there was a arriving at an obstacle and they got out and they all carried it by the bumpers and they're like they were like here's a solution like no it's not I just love
[28:08] that idea of like uh it's not a problem it's a feature these cars are so cool I I am a little scared of them but I think in in in little tiny situations where Coronado or whatever this is the coolest thing in the world you're completely
[28:22] you could drive around in this thing it's fun it's it's they got popular with like with tourism and tropical areas and things is this uh I feel like this is the first Polaris Slingshot oh interesting or like
[28:36] that are just you know what else also was that Fiat 500 Jolly like in the 50s there's now it's back and it's electric and it has a range of 40 miles which is you're doing more than 40 miles in one go in this car you're insane to begin
[28:51] with you're in a police chase at 25 mph Max 25 right it's a Max 25 wow 17 cuz these start at 20 well this one's like brand new I have no idea what they okay the MSR pce 23 it's in
[29:06] Hamptons is excitedly bidding on this car right now I'm gonna take it next summer I'm gonna take it out to I'm GNA take it out to Sag Harbor this is going to be great is it you bidding on this
[29:19] behind I know participate in that can these uh yeah 40 miles range um kenon can you pull up another question for us of course I see wheelbase is a Miata okay all right from go scroll down I can't there's there's a camera in front
[29:33] that all right here we go oh this is going to be great from we need that going to be great from we need that camera from drain drains wallets fast sorted and dialed the M3 to such an extent that you won't replace it for
[29:46] want that would be better would be 2 to 3x price this dude owns an E46 M3 there is no question about it and his and his partner's trying to tell him to sell it like watch watch let's see what Z said there's nothing better than that she's
[30:00] like yes there is he's like I want to prove it to you um actually the answer is kind of yes and here's here's why because it pretty quick and you can fold the seats down whole lots of things but also it
[30:14] gets 20 28 m per gallon highway coming down here is that true that was true drive I'm like 28 mes per gallon so performance- wise you know it's used Camaro territory Mustang GT territory but I don't know those aren't
[30:30] as comfortable to drive on the road they feel very big interior materials feel I mean I guess newer car but they feel cheap but it just it has this weird vent diagram where it does a lot of things well as long as you keep it alive which
[30:44] done you've spent money and time getting it to the point where it's where it is yeah would you consider instead this is going to be out there a little bit would you consider instead an NA Auto markv super
[30:58] super no okay what about an NA Auto markv no okay what about an NA Auto markv Supra oh okay all right maybe what color whatever color you want whatever color I want can it be topaz blue uh what is
[31:10] what is this car worth that's a I have no idea I bought it for 15 miles 135,000 okay that you could almost get into an NA Auto I could almost get into a four-speed automatic and what is the horsepower on that it was 225 it was
[31:26] it was a little light compared to where you are but it won't break I feel like what you're pitching to me not to bring it back but same specs as the crown Pi 225 you can combine both things into one car you combine both things into one car
[31:40] you get the reliability and the four-speed automatic of the Crown Victoria but you also get Victoria but you also get a coupe that is cool it's true it's I
[31:52] saw your pitch to Ron zarus on the show of I I literally watched that moment and you do make a good case genuinely like because what's a what's a turbo super now with a manual 130 yeah so if all you want to do if anyone out there is
[32:08] heart that all you're going to do is drive to car shows and park it and drive drive to car shows and park it and drive home well and I would take it to V I stuff like that's that's the cool thing about it it hit me watching that later
[32:21] critical of me that I didn't make my case that well one thing I forgot to mention is the 2JZ is incredibly reliable the non-turbo even the turbo one but the non- turbo non that motor is just really reliable of course and also
[32:36] um you could just drive it imagine just cruising around in a Supra but it's not the good one you know it's not yeah but other people don't necessarily this is it's like other it's like no it's it's not it's be wearing a cheaper Rolex but
[32:53] you still have a Rolex yeah it kind of is but you know you're just putting on a would enjoy okay I want you to imagine the foll you don't you're not into these following imagine first off imagine a world in which you are close your eyes
[33:07] close your eyes and imagine this we go to together to Whole Foods for some reason we've gone to the G we park our na Auto uh we walk away from it and look back and there we've driven to the store in a mark 4 Supra an iconic automobile
[33:23] get a big wing and we get the turbo wheel we probably get a turbo badge let's oh so you okay you just full full front you're just really putting on the show yeah I mean it's a good-looking car and it would be reliable and comfortable
[33:37] and all those things I get it for for a for a touring car that you don't need when you don't need to go fast actually make a lot of sense right and honestly general to be frank it's not the best handl car right put a lot of work into
[33:51] it right yeah yeah that's true I drove one in the canyons and I was surprised one in the canyons and I was surprised at like oh oh we lean a lot oh kind ofs car yeah but nonetheless you wouldn't give up your stick E46 M3 for an older
[34:04] slower automatic Toyota Super that costs more is what you're you make a good case it would cost more as well no I would not do that huh do people buy these and just modify those I assume just like who buys na Autos I don't understand I'm not
[34:17] stick swap it and put in a turbo people that what they're doing like people like do that stuff right you could still well even if you took it to a shop still do significantly less expensive than a turbo a but less valuable I mean that's
[34:33] drive it who cares okay this is interesting so you're saying I should get an NA Auto and turn it into a turbo wasn't yeah I don't see why you wouldn't well this is this is the what provenance versus experience right argument right
[34:47] like you can make the experience feel exactly like a a real one but you will lose money right I mean I guess but you will have the experience for half the price true so it's there give and take your argument is not as dumb as it
[35:00] although I've never taken it to the level where you've just taken it and it's quite an interesting place to be isn't it but you I'm refine this for isn't it but you I'm refine this for next week's show you youate like kind of
[35:12] unique uh interest in cars or like you get excited about cars I think a lot of criticize you so for if if what it is about ultimately this hobby is enjoyment if you would enjoy an NA Auto Supra I think any we can't say that choice is
[35:27] stupid right I don't think anybody would really enjoy an NA Auto I just I can't drive a I mean it's too much money you can't drive a stick you'll learn learn someday will you teach me teach me I'll show you in this
[35:40] white car yeah okay can we go to the next car here we got a Land Rover and Zach is a oh by the way that sold sold for 20350 someone had a $20,000 Max number and and someone went a little higher and also that Arista
[35:54] sold for 125 125 we're getting a lot of sales today can we talk Land Rover Discovery Zach please give us all of your thoughts on please give us all of your thoughts on the Land Rover this is a disco two first
[36:06] year of the Disco 2 I honestly know nothing about these okay I know that Land Rover has the reputation of being unreliable and then I've heard from Land Rover owners that that is unfounded depending on which one you have this
[36:18] looks awesome it looks like the perfect Land Rover Discovery right and the wheels look great and the tires look great and you know I don't know a friend of mine has lr3 and he said his V8 has been running flawlessly since he's owned
[36:30] it for like six years um but I don't know what do you know I feel like you'll it's the last car made with a for this is like a BMW from England by the way the last Road car with a Formula 1 engine um y that's true Ken kenon and I
[36:45] topic argued many times my CR GT has a Formula One engine okay okay thank you I give in him he doesn't agree with that because it didn't race it didn't he's
[36:57] it's a for it was an engine that was developed to race in Formula 1 but then didn't and then it was going to be used for lamon racing and then wasn't and engine has been used in both F1 and lar I mean that's the Ferrari f50s engine
[37:11] block was in an actual Formula One car those aren't worth anything now right those aren't worth anything right so like so for his point he on about a car that cost 4X okay the point is this the Land Rover discoveries engine we learned
[37:26] one which ended in 97 but the discoveries engine was used it was the Buick old Buick V8 and some version of that was used in a 60s Formula One car and so really like the Aurora V8 or no it was some Land Rover used until this
[37:41] car came out they used this old like Buick V8 that had been truly in at some point some Formula 1 team also used that engine and so he's over here trying to split hairs I happen to have a
[37:53] Defender that has that power train 97 Defender and boom Formula 1 engine in my car so I'm good either way that is an amazing display of transitive properties and I am I am here for it I really am wow that was Artful he brings it up
[38:08] genuinely daily he brought it up in our our friend like text thread today and like tagged me in it it's just because it's very annoying I love I the I love my McLaren F1 CP by the way here because
[38:20] it's half of an S70 D2 boom he has half of McLaren F1 well that's great for him but unfortunately I have all of a Formula 1 engine okay um kenon please Discovery I I really like discos personally um I uh maybe it's my love of
[38:36] do have a reputation but I think they look really cool uh especially like Defenders are you know inordinately expensive they they have they really I think these cars are are significantly more usable and also very cool you can
[38:50] make him look awesome like this one does and drive around in it it's just I mean you know I I me I was walking one morning rning on um on the east coast driveway and it just looks so right in
[39:02] one thing we're noticing that's surprising to me is discoveries are coming up in value for years this was a $3,000 Craigslist I mean no one wanted but because there was so much attrition I think like they look cool and they're
[39:17] not as easy to find as they once were and so like people are starting to get into this like boxy off-road SUV kind of thing we've done well with them um over over the years I mean we've we've sold a lot of them this is all the discos but I
[39:31] mean you're seeing some of these sales are in the in the 20s for 14 15 I mean that nobody wanted for like a legitimately long time now were they still cheap even as the overlanding trend exploded in popularity or the
[39:46] cheap ones of the overlanding trend and suddenly things have changed a little that's the the because this is kind of what's left it's like monteros monteros were super cheap for a long time even as 4Runners blew up but then everyone went
[39:59] and it's still inexpensive it could be also it has to do it it just looks cool like go back up it just looks I mean this is a neat looking thing and the days of boxy SUVs that can do anything
[40:13] an end and yeah monteras are hard to find foreigners are hard to find Land and so it's like all right kind of by default anyone that's still around I get when you drive the like King of the road driving position this car is like
[40:27] meat and it's perfect lift that rear glass I think is so that rear glass with the Safari window I I remember being a kid though and seeing these and going what are people looking at up out of the ceiling like saw Jurassic I remember
[40:41] being kiding thinking wow you can look at stuff but I it never hit me I I wasn't as I wasn't as intellectual as you I wasn't as intellectual as you it never hit me that there's nothing to see whoa you could see see something you
[40:57] than you can out the window that's next to you yeah thought it was a funny idea very deep thinker very cynical kenon this is about to end 13,600 o last
[41:09] something that annoys us Z people place the last second bids and then they and go out this happens like once every month and they'll send us an email and be like why didn't my bid go through and we'll be like cuz you put it in at the
[41:22] last 0.0 seconds like what are you doing it's very disappointing dangerous dangerous game to play it is a dangerous game to play if you want to win it's a we all mhm but yeah but your timer just resets right so what's it does but if
[41:36] or something then you're screwed and people complain or they're doing it on their phone which I seems insane to me there was a time when bidding like buying a car online was insane and now people are just buying cars on their
[41:50] phones right it's like what was it uh Open Door the company where you could thing it was I don't think it did well I think it but for a while they were like this is how it'll be done which was very terrifying buy a a house on your phone I
[42:05] tuxedo to go buy a car and now on your phone it's just so flippant Z tell us to go byy a car no you take your carriage and then you'd go down to the and shoot the horse and they'd say okay come back in a week and then you'd go
[42:22] sometimes people would get in the way and SHO them with the broom you'd have you a broom man do it what the hell are you talking about this is how cars were you talking about this is how cars were invented Doug do you not know thing did
[42:36] they you know all about this I'm a Victorian Relic did they shoot all the horses or just some of them uh some of them some were turned into Budweiser commercials others went racing others
[42:48] went racing none of this makes any sense literally none they had you never there never time when you dressed up to go buy a car all it every Sunday with
[43:05] no sorry 1904 put the family together said instead of church you would go go dress up and go down to the Buick oldmobile Aro dealership I would wager that the first car purchases were done by done by people wearing very nice
[43:19] clothes everybody in that era wore nice clothes you see good he went outside you see those pictures you see those pictures people are always dressed up Co miners are wearing like tux and Tails they at every picture they're looking at
[43:35] the camera with this D there like this very serious face clothes and they didn't smile probably because of all the horses they were shooting there wasn't a lot to smile about it was a sad era yeah you're 12
[43:49] factory and shot your horse where your tails in the factory probably hot um brilliant Thing This Land Rover Discovery sold for $13,600 which by the way this car is 70,000 Mi it has a long life left with
[44:03] its Formula 1 powertrain um do you want to go to some is this the next one oh wow this AUD have you seen this this is insane and have you seen this this is insane and amazing like that look at that thing
[44:16] drive it as something to like you know for it's got a sequential transmission and it's bill of sale only somebody at some point just committed it has a what what' you say a seal somebody at some was just like I'm doing
[44:29] this and just went all I mean this is full race car if took this to Cars and could get away with telling people it's real and what do they know they don't know anything this is a Brian Scotto fever dream I really he's a huge Audi
[44:42] fever dream I really he's a huge Audi fan but this this looks if I that this probably was yeah he wouldn't have to make your your uh Formula 1 engine like yeah that's a race car is that a re mounted radiator this is serious like it
[44:56] look that's the thing this dude went all out there was nothing remaining from the factory probably the glass yeah that's a good point uh I mean it's a tribute car but the glass you should really just call it it's a rally car someone built
[45:09] basically went back and stole the Audi with S1 Ken how's this going go back to the go back to the auction a very auction's going to 102,000 it's a very Niche car but like how cool is this
[45:21] someone's doing my strategy here they just raised it for $12 just raised it for $12 105 105 518 I think it would cost a lot more than that to build this especially especially with the sequential box cuz
[45:34] it's not just a body kit and they kept the stock like this seems like has real hard you know what engine's in it the same Turbo 5 cylinder that was in my rs2 MH and the
[45:48] S6 and the S4 which was also the S6 try to tell me that wasn't a Formula One car too everything was in a Formula 1 car there's you could probably get a Formula 1 car body and throw the 2.2 this was a
[46:02] great power train people did all sorts of crazy stuff to them and they went fine and here it is this is this is a crazy vehicle $ 111,000 I love look I love in the listing on the factory equipment all we
[46:15] everything else is a modification on V3 fuel cell this is a modification on V3 fuel cell this is a race car I hope the cage is uh done to a run it well I mean look at it there's no way the person went like cheaped out on
[46:30] the cage right no probably not so yeah take this and do Colorado Hill Climb it's still dirt it's like Pike's Peak but it's still dirt this thing is so cooler I think it is one interesting thing when cars like this come to us
[46:42] there's almost no way to price them yeah I agree we we put reserves on I don't think it'd be hard to price it if it was the real car even harder like real race cars it that's a hard thing Mod
[46:54] owned by you know the very specific super famous person are really hard at to run replica it's not like cars from the race cars from the 60s we like you or I could buy one and wrench on it in our spare time yeah exactly we yeah
[47:09] modern race cars are like imposs like Lama cars disas heat them up and like run the oil through it and yeah it's crazy 117,000 who are these biders they're going they're going it looks like it's
[47:22] kind of 120,000 there is there do people comment on it as they bid or no no these bidding they're just saying they're just like they're speaking with their wallets this thing should be entered in like a Jim con contest or something it is just
[47:37] to I'm very interested in what continues continue Ken oh I would imagine it will I mean yeah this is look at all those hella lights Kenan it's got hella lights hella lights thank you Zach that's
[47:50] exactly where we were going uh are you able to read the happens like can you tell when something's going to just keep chugging along when only when there's multiple bids and then it's just like five bids
[48:04] happen when you got five people involved you just know how this one has two people that seem to really want it 12 11 10 what's going to happen I say a lot to two people that really want a car five 4 3 two are we going to get another
[48:20] bit out of this thing one zero is this it is this the end zero is this it is this the end Kenan your thoughts oh rnm o didn't quite make it didn't quite get there 120 we're going to need more than that as
[48:35] they say in the physical auctions yep that won't quite do it today yes what's the yeah what's the guy from Gooding the guy who insults people he bidding where he tells people I will not accept that bid it has to be more has to be more
[48:48] car though what a special thing I wonder what that goes for we're going to try to put together that deal afterwards and I sinceriously sincer sincerely hope we are able to because it is so so so cool K want to take some
[49:00] more questions can you please give us more questions yeah of course okay scroll down I can't see anything I got a camera there okay I can't help with I ca no that this is great this is great go no up up up there
[49:13] great this is great go no up up up there there narg writes thoughts on the 24 Land Cruiser as a snowboarder I drive long distances and want some off-road four-cylinder Turbo Hybrid seems nice compared to a V6 forigner that gets 16 m
[49:25] compared to a V6 forigner that gets 16 m per gallon um Here's my thought on the new Land Cruiser I am a Land Cruiser owner I've had two I have a 13 which is really love the Land Cruiser um I'm a little disappointed in
[49:41] the new one it doesn't have a third row which I need for my land Cru Cruiser Le duties and um it's a lot smaller now yeah it's smaller and so I don't quite positioning like that it kind of seems like it's positioned next to the 4Runner
[49:54] but the 4Runner still around and it almost seems like the Sequoia has kind of taken over where the Land Cruiser was and so I it's going to be cool to answer great the numbers look good the fuel efficiency is going to be a big benefit
[50:06] efficiency is going to be a big benefit compared to mine which is a disaster um but I I don't know I I curious to see what they do with the new 4Runner which improved fuel economy since it's going to have a hybrid power train as well um
[50:20] I don't know seoa is is like the new the Land Cruiser of Land Cruisers now and so distances and better fuel economy this new land Cruise will be good the problem of course will also be that it will be uh long waiting lists and above MSRP for
[50:34] a long time for a while yeah I'm happy that the Land Cruiser moniker at least really I mean I think everybody was worried it what's going but yeah you make a lot of really good points there I think so uh the internet says that it's
[50:49] going to get 27 m per gallon combined but it doesn't I can't find Highway and better in slower driving but probably about the same 27's pretty good if and if he's getting 16 all right that's a huge Improvement yeah that is a huge
[51:03] be great I wish it was a little bit bigger I it looks cool and it looks but I I agree with you like positioning wise it fighting with its sibling I right the doesn't really seem to make sense to me um Burke writes what is your favorite V8
[51:20] motor that's that's tough there are a lot of I can I don't know if I can pick a favorite I can pick my top three okay uh so are you thinking yeah I I can go you can K already knows he's got his favorite V8 V8 man B my last two cards y
[51:37] comes to mind there three very different V8s the first one that comes to mind is my Ferrari 355s V8 the f129 b-c I think those engines are like there's nothing like it notoriously unreliable problematic engine no the engine it's
[51:53] the engine yes the all right so ones the early ones yeah you talk about a company that does its testing on its clients it's Ferrari The Ear The Early ones were tough so Tesla's not new in that no the Italians did that long before um but I
[52:07] yes sure it does have problems the later ones are a lot better um as I have experienced with now but re the it just keeps on revving and the sound it makes is one of the best automotive noises period uh and I think that engine is
[52:23] output for such a tiny displacement engine 385 horsepower or 380 horsepower engine 385 horsepower or 380 horsepower out of a 3.5 L na engine in 90s that's a yeah it was that was their target with it kind of a problematic they problem
[52:39] itself like yes the valve guides and the really early ones were Troublesome but rod bearing issues that engine does not have like cylinder scor that's not things that happen with a 355 and even so like it's actually relatively easy to
[52:52] service those engines except you have to pull it out of the once you take it out once it's out it's there once it's out it's no problem Mr once it's out of the car I've done that it is it is right Mr Formula 1 engine in
[53:06] a road car it you know you tell me that engine's easy to service get out of here uh so that's Formula One engine a road car of course it's not easy to service what you want just bring it to Brun and Company or whatever yeah U my next
[53:18] favorite engine obviously the s62 and the E39 M5 is one of my favorite engines torque but they also Rev quite high for what it for what it is it's a big 5 L V8 and at the time 400 horsepower out of that engine was like pretty remarkable
[53:32] to have that and they're also relatively low stress that now Doug's going to say that engine has problems too yeah at 250,000 Mi sure yeah they've got some what I've had to do but otherwise mine Rock Solid and a lot of people in the M
[53:46] Community do agree like they're they're very reliable engines uh as far as M engines go in particular um but I I'd like the way that engine just delivers power um and it was sophisticated you know it had infinitely variable valve
[53:59] timing um it was just it was it was ahead of time itbs not a lot of V8 have because it's in your car and it's generally regarded to be pretty good find give what's your last one the last the last V8 um I have to say it's a it's
[54:12] another it's another Ferrari engine but the 458 engine na V8 is like one of the ultimate one of the ultimate V8s High displacement high power high torque reliable um just like elastic just revs so fast and just keeps on going um that
[54:28] just deliv that's like the ultimate V8 I think yeah okay those are good not as good as mine but go ahead Zach uh I was going to say 458 Ferrari and then uh Ford 427 side Oiler just Old School Big Block muscle stuff nothing nothing
[54:42] sounds like it nothing feels like it um torque all all day no not many revs but that's okay and then I'll go Audi uh 4.2 like the R8 R the eight grand yeah another sounds amazing sounds like an engine that has two more liters of
[54:57] displacement but also sounds special and refined yeah that's true it is an unusual sound it has a very identifiable V8 sound which is and it was good the one is a different powertrain which is generally reliable we get R8 submitted
[55:12] to us with 70 80,000 miles all day long fixed some things from the S4 I think air conditioning thing which is completely unrelated to theine engine yeah build things that is you got but that's a very minor thing to be honest
[55:27] and like we're talking favorites I mean like you know the best one of the best vs would be like the Lexus uh ISF that's a 5 liter yeah it works all the time it just sounds like a Mustang when you put pipes on it and they're great and
[55:40] motor though so it's not it's a great motor but it's not one of my favorites because it's not as special yeah it is answer to this question and I'm sorry they had to the answer to this question
[55:54] number one no maybe not number one okay I'm not going to rank mine I'm just going to say them LS come on yeah they all has a great but again yeah okay all right all right continue I mean you put an LS in
[56:08] everything and it's great it is one of the most ubiquitous V ubiquitous we're we're talking about favorites like question so all right so you're an Alis man okay before I go any further I have
[56:22] to ask this question is best V8 can I say a V10 no Okay okay right but it has eight also oh I see you're like it has eight plus two as a bonus now it's like a Kings siiz Snickers you're like now with 20% more right and like if you name
[56:36] your best your favorite funsize candy bar like a KingSize Snickers would it has a fun size in it you understand all right I'm I'm stop ridiculous train of thought no you can't say V10 stick to V8 um I'm going to this is going to blow
[56:48] um I'm going to this is going to blow you your M coyote the coyote V8 it's just so good it's not that expensive you got tons of torque it's just good it's not the best it's your favorite so your favorite is the coyote V well I guess
[57:02] they they say best right a favorite what is your favorite my actual favorite the number one I love the coyote V8 I had every time I get a Mustang as a press car I'm just like Obsessed the answer to this question though the answer to the
[57:16] question is the mercedesbenz m113 V8 which was used in various applications it was in the G wagon where it was a 5 L it was later put in the E55 or was supercharged and it was an incredible powertrain that made 470
[57:31] horsepower it's greatest V ever and very reliable proud to have an m113 in my G wagon it is an incredible engine reliable torky true smooth yeah very I actually wouldn't fight you on that one that is God's
[57:47] V8 well depends on which country you're in I think if you ask that question you interesting in in Japan it would be the Land Cruiser 4.7 um although maybe I'm wrong if you go to you go to West Virginia like hey
[58:02] what do you think God's V8 is name be like absolutely Mercedes like absolutely Mercedes Benz yep and 113 big fan I owe you five bucks yeah and 113 big fan yeah big fan say that there that thing is so smooth
[58:15] and reliable put one in my Dodge man dang man dang what's wrong with you you brought me here this is your idea you've met me before okay let's let's talk about the Mitsubishi Delica wow what is this called the mitsub can you
[58:30] pull this Mitsubishi Delica space gear Jasper four-wheel drive what what is this graphic Zack can you please narrate for us what's happening here uh yeah this is like um close of that graphic boss painted started to paint a mountain
[58:46] this thing someone called him away for a second that's only part of it looks like yeah that's what the door open looking oh oh okay so it also is is this is quite worn what was it ever supposed to be this was what ' 90 this is mid 90s
[59:00] right right this is that was the thing remember this is like uh what is this on sweatshirts and stuff and everyone's like remember this isn't this cool no it's a cup that existed when you were seven it doesn't mean it look good
[59:14] seven it doesn't mean it look good someone someone at at uh um Good Vibes Good Vibes carme had like their white boxer livered in that cup design just everyone calmed down people like that cup maybe they should have done this
[59:26] design instead they should look at that are those supposed to be flames on the bottom no I think that's a reflection of a mountain that's what it looks like to me like is the Jasper it is the Jasper right now you're thinking what did the
[59:39] Jasper add that the regular one didn't have I am Zach please enlighten us uh let's go to Keenan uh let's go back to I'm going eat more cookie these are very good by the way yeah I The Jasper it's very very obvious what the
[59:55] no I have no idea these these Japanese cars come to us they get submitted to the site right and they have names that are unbelievable I mean just you know trim levels that with 14 names that no one has ever and you can't find any
[1:00:09] information on what that was it's a little bit of word salad but uh it's all because it I don't know if it probably means there's lots of room in it what is is that a couch it has a a yes it appears to have a I think it can well
[1:00:25] rotates I think I believe it does rotate so your passenger seat can rotate 90° and now you have a more open seating area look how easy there's like a love thing about these delas this this is this is the cool thing about these delas
[1:00:38] they are four-wheel drive like a Jeep but unlik a Jeep you have a love seat in the back and that's a pretty cool situation and I will say that I've driven uh Matt Farah has the previous generation Delica which four-wheel drive
[1:00:52] turbo diesel engine slow as all hell right like you can't even try to go up a hill you get passed by a person on foot but it feels much more solidly built than any Jeep of that era I've been in like those things are Jeeps are amazing
[1:01:06] apart and these things feel really solid I have this a dream of having like a trail minivan because you can take everybody but like be on a trail but they don't exist I mean like there's no Sienna they do this is that is this is a
[1:01:20] your dreams you've never once mentioned this is a dream take two cars when you go out off-roading dude these are super cool this is like the junior version of the Iceland tour van yeah yes and uh this
[1:01:33] one they move the engine so I think Matt's Matt's the engine like between the two front seats so you have amazing uh approach and departure angles but over speed bumps it's really bumpy this is probably a little better cuz it's a
[1:01:45] is lengthened a little bit but still it looks like it has a lot of clearance this be fun this is so Matt has the the original Delo which was really cool M this is the second gen Delica Ken can you or actually there were delas in the
[1:01:58] 60s and 70s but these everybody knows these Kenan can you please pull up a picture of the new current Mitsubishi Delica just go on Google you know Google Delica just go on Google you know Google google.com yeah oh God he put in Delica
[1:02:11] worried there'll be more than look at the black one the third one the black the black one the third one the black one oh oh tiny picture of it though look how cool that looks wow someday that will be legal and that's going to be the
[1:02:23] will be legal and that's going to be the coolest Delica of them all uh okay I'm not into the grill the chrome grill click on that BL one right below it he's no no that's a much much older one go go go to that blue no one to the right one
[1:02:35] to the right no one to the left this is like yelling at the planes and they can't hear you went one to the right one to the left you're saying blue that one's blue
[1:02:48] that one's blue which blue one do you I don't I have no idea you've gestured so wildly no the middle one the middle blue one there this is like a form of battleship look at that you don't think that's cool uh I think it's a pretty
[1:03:01] of the eyes I think I would change the grill to Black I don't like the Chrome you would you would black out the grill of the Delica I would but I like the the very simple I don't know not wedge that's the wrong term but uh that is a
[1:03:16] cool looking vehicle yeah and someday those will be legal but are those are yeah they still are using the same formula Zealand like commonly because it's
[1:03:29] loves these everybody still loves the I don't know if the new new ones have but that one came out that was like late ' 90s came out yeah um that's 6100 bucks 90s came out yeah um that's 6100 bucks is is now the number 17 16 15 wow
[1:03:44] amount for a trail minivan absolutely uh the only thing with these is finding challenging because it's a very Specialty Vehicle doesn't it have does a diesel that we proba turbo diesel Mitsubishi turbo diesel you know what I
[1:03:58] like about Mitsubishi in this era kenon go back to the pictures of this go back to the pictures of this thing oh oh wow source code make some changes that was quite the go to the front go to the front you know how I
[1:04:11] like that the offset uh Hood Mitsubishi did this on a lot of cars cuz the eclipse had this too yeah in that car it wasn't a scoop but it was a hump yeah they could have made that their thing like like non symmetrical is that weird
[1:04:26] eclipses without this the hump though I some cool character and it meant it was the GST or the X right was the turbo yeah yeah I liked it I would swap out my hood I saw the na Auto of that's the na
[1:04:42] Auto of the you saw what I saw a Saturn with a hood scoop the other day oh think non-functional you don't think that guy's got a big turbo motorun in vents in the front I could see that it was like a vent over a solid wall but it
[1:04:56] looked oh so it was just mounted on he didn't even cut a hole in the hood it to make fun of it and I saw that he was still in the car so I got real quiet and left was this an early Saturn SL1 SL2 I think SL1 I think early the the
[1:05:09] beginning era yeah what a great time that was in the auto stuff cars worked that was in the auto stuff cars worked right not not those for long um can we uh can we now go actually kenon can you pull up as this Delica continues can you
[1:05:23] pull up this AR S 4 of course the very next vehicle that's coming up speaking of the Audi 4.2 I mean it's just one of the coolest sedans ever yeah yeah an all wheeel Drive version of The Ether 9M 5
[1:05:35] about having one of these for a while a friend of two friends of ours did they own the same one um I mean just cool manual transmission only great styling amazing sound y excellent performance and just cool yeah yep they still look
[1:05:52] Audi could make an RS car and have it be subtle mhm the fendered flares I mean you drive you see this on the road you would have no idea that it was anything something special it's really good looking car came in good colors yeah
[1:06:07] front design of it is just fairly Timeless like it it still looks modern enough and aggressive enough yeah uh it remember people criticizing that grill for being too big at the time little did
[1:06:19] one of the first to really get on that big grill thing did you criticize them does it you guys are going to love it I was always way ahead of my time design was going to be fine constantly at the front I'm at the I'm at the absolute
[1:06:34] Cutting Edge you saw that Delica that I liked you saw my a class over there um yeah this particular RS4 go back to the to the listing itself this particular RS4 is like a very special one it is in this unusual
[1:06:48] very special one it is in this unusual blue color it's good it uh has under 50,000 miles this is like a really really really nice like desirable version of this car I modifications the RS4 Market has generally been pretty
[1:07:00] strong over the last couple of years but this car uh in particular is like a a lot of these were were gray um or black or that kind of thing mhm or they have a yellow as well and well a lot of them have a lot of miles I mean a lot of them
[1:07:13] not a lot were kept like this a lot of them were um heavily modified and a lot of them were crashed like a ton yeah people smashed these things we sold one at one point with accidents I don't think they well they have uh bad weight
[1:07:28] distribution I mean the engine is like that was kind of an Audi performance car problem exactly I think I think the 4 lit well actually the the the increasing size of cars mixed with the 4 liter helped Audi move the weight to the back
[1:07:41] of the car yeah um I found some really funny comments on an RS4 form when I was for common problems because they're shopping and some an owner responded uh faster expecting a 4,000 lb car to behave like
[1:07:56] a 2500 lb car leaking DRC lack of Maintenance like I just like that they were like the top three problems are inherent to the vehicle the attitude on that hey guys I'm I'm curious about my pixel display has burnt out this has
[1:08:10] been asked a thousand times the search function what are you think for that is every Forum man they're so goodl looking they're great and the ironic thing of and find that thread where people just complain that should use the search
[1:08:24] function to find other threads it's like just please answer they are so just please answer they are so good-looking the B this is a B7 the B7 was such a nice looking car and what's crazy is the red line is only 200 RPMs
[1:08:37] uh below the red line of the S2000 ap2 is that true yeah that the ap2 only red lines at uh 8,000 which you're like oh that's really high and then you go wait the Audi with the V8 gentleman's sedan rev to that like okay suddenly the ap2
[1:08:51] disappointment by the way I love this interior color the my only disappointment of combo this car is and will always be that Audi gave us two body styles the sedan and the convertible yeah the wagon they made but
[1:09:06] them the convertible Americans like convertibl thanks so much Audy yeah what a great what a weird decision we really appreciate that convertible wait could can get an S4 convertible they sold the RS4 convertible it was also manual only
[1:09:21] all right we've sold a couple yeah there's one there it is right there and it was like great what an unusual for a four seat like too large like based on the A4 Convertible which was supposed to be like a cruiser that you
[1:09:33] rode around in with your pals you know there wasn't ever a car that so they had overseas but they gave us the convertible instead and we will forever be disappointed by that but we have the sedan we have the sedan and we're lucky
[1:09:45] to have that 44,000 this thing is it wasn't sold here for long it was only 07 and 08 that was it was it 07 and 08 that's all they sold the RS in income when I was in college and I was a valet and a girl in college pulled
[1:10:00] up in an S4 convertible and I was like whoo S4 convertible V8 and she went oh then she just walked into the restaurant I was like oh we're I was like oh we're different where was this Colorado are
[1:10:14] you from Colorado uh no Santa Cruz I went to school there you yeah got it um 445 we're going Kenan Kenan you got any predictions a good car 80 million kenon it's not a BMW so Kenan is not aware of the market no I I like I
[1:10:29] like the RS4 a lot and I can pull up our results um but I think that I think that how many of these have we auctioned well 31 counting um Counting a couple of B5 wagons yes I we can we can narrow that down a little bit more so B7 is 27 27 of
[1:10:46] them okay I mean this one this one's hard to judge because of the low mileage and the color combination it just seems very clean we've a l a lot of them do have mods and things like that like you like you said um 45750 seems like this
[1:10:58] like you said um 45750 seems like this is the most expensive one yet based it's doesn't surprise me at all it's going to bring big money it really really really strong sale it's amazing by the way that early on in our lives that blue one for
[1:11:12] 20 well how many miles did that have that 113 didn't didn't CJ Wilson buy this one isn't this the one that CJ yes I believe that I believe that is correct he knew he had it figured out yep yeah he had it figured out he was like I'm
[1:11:25] going to spend 20 grand and get an RS4 yeah that's color now that you can't do that anymore those days have end those days are wait go back to the the results I think uh one two three on the left is that the this car that we're watching
[1:11:37] different interior black interior oh you're right okay and and more miles 47,000 this one is going going going if you want an nice RS4 it's hard to find are a lot lower and that's because they're mileed up or damaged or whatever
[1:11:51] 47 yeah the attrition is high here's the person who used my bid strategy went up by $1,300 boom have you ever owned a car with a white interior yeah my Mercedes station wagon now has a wet interior and
[1:12:05] I have a child oh yeah you don't wear jeans anymore I don't go into the back I the back cuz I don't want to see what has happened okay how do you get the kid out of the car I put him in the car SE like
[1:12:19] take him out of the car seat but you can do that from outside I don't like look it's willful ignorance of what's going on I I see it's like a grab it's like Scrabble bag like you look away and you reach in and you find kid you take kid
[1:12:34] out and then close door right yeah there's a lot of food in there sorry to interrupt $47,000 that's what it sold for Boom $47,000 the RS4 has sold it
[1:12:46] still seems well bought it probably will seem well bought in a few years I have top of our results and maybe deservedly so but but in a few years we're going to manual transmission to your only car only RS4 ever sold in America by the way
[1:13:00] and 47 grand is Big Money okay do we have more questions can we do a few more we can go back is this like an updated list or do these get updated as we list or do these get updated as we updated in real time okay oh btek writes
[1:13:12] the Tesla cyber truck is coming out soon do you think it will be successful to do you think it will be successful to find Z soon I mean there are prototypes it'll be
[1:13:26] successful uh I I I don't know how how we define success honestly like how much are they spent on the development of it how much how many do they need to sell people that put down money for them will be very excited to get them but I don't
[1:13:42] it I don't know it's it seems like a weird truck like the bed's kind of small it tapers doesn't it I mean it just I think the itself well it's I guess it from top to bottom right yeah I mean yeah yeah I you know it's but I guess
[1:13:57] it's like an activity truck it's like the on uh the Hyundai Santa Cruz like you can put bikes in it and other things but you can't load tables and pallets oh the the bed yeah it's a huge vehicle it well I mean I have no doubt it will
[1:14:09] be successful among the the Tesla set that really want this do you have no people realize how big a full-size truck is they're going to be like no no I but I still still I there will be definitely people who have this thing those people
[1:14:22] have never even been in an F-150 in their lives not a single Tesla owner has ever spent time in an F-150 this is a slight generalization about this well I think the question would be people that have ordered Ford
[1:14:37] Lightnings or the Silverados or have them now would they if if they also own a model 3 or Model S would they convert because they go oh this has good so especi like for the Ford people in particular the other thing with this
[1:14:49] truck is it's so late Ford brought out the lightning and Ford people if they buy that like they're don't you think like a Ford Lightning dude isn't going to be a cyber truck dude I think there's some I think there's crossover I do I
[1:15:02] think I think there most people are do you remember the other great truck the Lincoln Blackwood yes of course that was an attempt at trying to capture some of the supposed Ford F-150 buyers who maybe wanted something different and they
[1:15:17] in their world you can't drive around around in a Lincoln but then Cadillac did it with the truck and like that was significantly more successful was that there you are this
[1:15:29] for a lot of people is not cool okay fair that's a good point that's people think that this is really cool I'm not in in a way it is I'm excited to see like the first one driving around I I personally don't like the way it looks
[1:15:41] I think also for people who are brand loyal to Tesla of which there are a lot live in cities and have model 3s they have they're going to be they're going have I done maybe but by that point Tesla's already sold
[1:15:55] so that's not they're going to start posting on the forums cuz that's all they're going to be like this is way bigger than you realize it's like people also have sprinters so they're probably cool I think it goes back you
[1:16:09] what is the definition of success for them because if they sell to the Tesla fans is that enough people because the the model 3's big success was selling to so many huge it's isn't it the most popular car in America right it's the
[1:16:23] one of the most popular right so they they broke through all the the early adopter they broke through all of that so can this truck do that because I I had to pause orders on the lightning
[1:16:36] that might Tesla has quality they're just like yep exactly send them out IES people also used to and just like BMW people like you and I be like it's things to it be fine and they do they don't care but I I'm very curious I'm
[1:16:51] not sure if it'll be successful it is is heinous I know that yeah well I think exercises I've ever seen when it came out that's all anybody talked about was how ugly it was and like but people talked about it for genuinely nine
[1:17:03] months I mean like that's you heard it everywhere from normal people it's like that's all anybody would you cars but some people thought it looked cool I it looks you know styling is subjective um I don't know we'll see can
[1:17:17] I may I take one of these uh I want to talk about the the Gordon muray oh wow guys think about the GMA t50 will this car ever be treated like a true F1 successor by Enthusiast very curious to hear your thoughts kenon is the is the
[1:17:31] greatest living fan of the McLaren F1 yes and I got to see the t50 monitor I got to hear it drive around um Laguna sea which was one of the most unusual sounds I've ever heard an engine make it was just it was so it just revved so
[1:17:44] motorcycle but like a really big one because it's got a lot of cylinders and it was just Sublime um do I think it's going to be treated like the F1 uh I think that some regards yes and some regards no the F1 is going to be is
[1:17:57] a lot of ways because of what it did at Lal I know it was won by a technicality due to rain and the the the Prototype car is failing but it did win Lal regardless on x 15 it's not helping it's not helping right but the XJR 15 it's
[1:18:13] not helping fpace sales but the F1 regardless the F1 is regarded as a same thing I don't know I got to talk to Gordon Murray when I was um at the quail uh and and talked to him a little bit and it was interesting to hear how many
[1:18:26] customers were like I want you know want remember the F1 as a kid and this is my second chance to like have one of these and a lot most of the customers said that was like why they were buying this car because they clearly feel that it
[1:18:39] that said I think the F1 is better looking the rear end of the t50 is not my favorite I know the fan is a big deal but it looks it's a lot um but the F1 think it looks pretty awesome aome yeah you're seduced by the top speed record
[1:18:55] the Lama win the three seats it's got 14s disc side that's true and it has a ton of dead cat space behind above the rear wheel it sits kind of weird but I think the shape is awesome um I you know it's the GMA t50 thing is interesting I
[1:19:11] have to admit I've staked like my entire Automotive financial situation on the anymore so I'm a little nervous about the t50 cuzz they're like making one again yeah like I have talked to several people who have gotten out of their C
[1:19:25] GTS to buy this car and that's interesting to me what I mean this if if the cars like this are going away the engine is an absolute Masterpiece it's a
[1:19:37] master Str the one big difference the answer to this question is probably no is special not just because it was this because it was the fastest car in the world and it won Lama and like the t50
[1:19:51] will not be either of those so yeah special as it is so I think the F1 will always be the most special I think the t50 will be revered in a different way right like carrer probably like Carrera GT and the the other analog exotic cars
[1:20:05] much later when we thought cars like that were never connected yeah was the end that one set the bar so long ago and and kept it for a long time basically until you know Bugatti Veyron like knocked on the door for top in itself is
[1:20:19] insane right the fact that Volkswagen had to pour several zillion this guy that this car that this dude got to catch Gordon exactly like it's crazy I think that's why the F1 yeah and the F1 now is what $20 million for a bad
[1:20:33] one like Mr Bean salvage title another thing by the way production numbers is treated like a true F1 successor at the end of the day they only made 65 clear F1 road cars I don't know what the t50 production numbers are but I it's not
[1:20:45] then I don't have nothing to worry about with my I think I don't remember exactly the t33 they're making quite a few more right right right they using that engine which I actually like the t33 that would be the one I would buy if I were ever in
[1:20:58] a position to Central seating position is Godly though it is Godly I think it I think it will ever be as valuable as the F1 because it's not because the F1 has a head start figuratively literally on value but um and Nostalgia plays a
[1:21:14] really powerful marketing tool yeah agreed um okay can we go down to this question from Oscar Hernandez Doug why choose a K over a newer but future classic like a 599 six speed or do you believe the count will hit 60s for Value
[1:21:28] level Zack why don't you go ahead and take this one oh sure uh well I think Doug bought it because this was the cool car when Doug was 6 years old and the Oscar might have been six years old I'm not trying to be a jerk but the again
[1:21:42] going right back the power of nostalgia I mean they're remaking every movie that came out when we were young like there is so much money to be milked from Nostalgia and the power it has in in your brain and when you saw it as a
[1:21:54] youth like no nothing you see when you're 20 is going to probably combat were 10 if it's like a car thing it's just not I also to answer this question specifically 5996 speed is a special car and mostly because of its transmission
[1:22:09] the kage is a special car because it's overall a special car and I and and also I just wanted that feeling that vintage car angry mad craziness feeling and it has that obviously it Idols it sounds rad when you pulled in here it was oh
[1:22:22] got some depth to it and you just don't get that also also a $599 you sneeze at it and it costs 10 grand 599 are hidden unreliable cars oh yeah these are cheap spend a lot of money maintaining something I don't want it to be a 5.99
[1:22:35] there's one other half of that question do you believe the Kos will hit 60s do you believe the Kos will hit 60s level Ferrari values um uh maybe a a 2 they're going to be worth that much they
[1:22:47] they're undervalued where they are which is one of the few cars where I think are currently undervalued so many cars had a crazy crazy car value runup and I think the count is still cheap for what it is scroll down we can do maybe like two or
[1:22:59] three more right uh kenon why don't you pick a good one let see uh Doug would you be willing to get your career GT recommissioned by Graham Ray Hall perform no I've seen those they
[1:23:14] look cool but no I I love love how the car is uh deep OE I'm an OE guy with a couple of little OEM Plus mods I agree and you have your car service by Jimmy rasi who is like the god of C the god of C okay here's a good one Alex what do
[1:23:29] you guys think of the lotus evor Kenan uh lot of value I think they're really cool um I think they also that V6 sounds really great um and they're you know you um I've always thought they were really cool cards pull up pull up ivora

[1:23:59] ivora 400 and it's not the superchar blah 000 still it it's got miles but it is but remember the the engine comes from Toyota V6 from Cameron that's like a pretty damn good money for that car a lot of value a lot of value and it looks
[1:24:13] cool uh and and they drive they do Drive nicely great oh they ride so well they're fun cars the only concern obviously is whether the company will concern for years but the other thing is that uh I've heard the body panels are

[1:24:54] Cross Shopping the Integra Type S as a onecar solution versus a dedicated rear wheel drive enthusiast car uh the integr type S is an amazing car like full stop it's my only complaint about it but it is super fun super usable looks nice
[1:25:09] inside and outside in my opinion stereo is incred is great so I used to think wheeel drive was lame because all the marketing that muscle car magazines put out about it worked on me and uh and I was that jerk who was like and then
[1:25:25] frong wheeel drive yeah all all I was I was that guy and then I drove a rabbit all this turning about um so all it took was a rabbit that was modified well was like like an eight 10 point cage it was aggressive
[1:25:41] but you can get so much value from driving a front-wheel drive car well and whether it's in a track or in a canyon or whatever yes you'll feel the drift a rear wheel drive car but but there's plenty of other there are plenty
[1:25:54] of other aspects to driving that you get from either platform what do you think Type S is a onecar solution versus like having an NA or an NB or a boxer or you know rear wheel drive fun car I think that that really depends on
[1:26:10] someone's life so do you have a garage where do you live do you want to have two cars I when I drove the integr type ass I've driven it twice now I was sitting looking around going do I do I want to finance a car what's happening

[1:26:35] Hardware I think it's a phenomenal car for a onear solution if you're going to money do you have where do you live what do you like and then you could pick up a 986 boxer for six, pretty much yeah all right I mean
[1:26:50] it won't be that fast but right it won't be that fast that's pretty good okay is that all are we done should that be it Zach thank you for coming and for cookie eating I happen me well really enjoy it you're great you're great
