[00:00] How's it going everyone and welcome back to another video. This is going to be the first in a series of videos I do going over Ninja Trader tutorials. In this first one we'll talk about how to connect Ninja Trader to TradingView.

[00:23] If there's any tutorials you want to see, please leave them in the comments section below. The first thing you're going to do is if you are not already signed up, go ahead and sign up for NinjaTrader using the link in the description below or ninja.ttrades.com.

[00:36] This will allow you to get live market data for two weeks free, unlimited simulated trading, and the use of all the applications. Now, how are you going to go do that? Well, once you click on the link, just click the Get Started.

[00:49] So go ahead and hit Sign Up with your email. and then you'll reach the point where you have to determine if you are a professional or non-professional. The vast majority are non-professional but I do urge you to fill

[01:01] this out correctly and make sure that if you are a professional that is selected. If you don't know what this means a quick google search will really help you out here. Now once you do that you'll have to fill out some subscriber agreement forms,

[01:13] sign it and date it and once that is done you'll enter in and you have signed up successfully. Now this comes with two weeks of free market data, but once that runs out, or if you want to get access to market data, how do you go about doing that?

[01:27] Well, let's talk about how to get real-time data. You're going to come to this main screen and you're going to go and click this icon up here that should have your initials. From there, you're going to go ahead and click settings and then you'll reach this settings

[01:41] window. From here, you can click on plans and hit manage subscriptions. your managed subscriptions you'll be able to select which data you want. I personally use the CME Group level 1 top of book with this bundle for $12 per month. I don't need the level 2 just

[01:58] because I do not use order flow so I don't need to pay the extra for that data. This is the one I use. You just want to choose which data package suits you best. So now how do we actually go about connecting to TradingView? Well the first thing you're going to want to do is get the add-on

[02:14] from NinjaTrader. So going back and clicking on our icon in the top right here, clicking on settings, and then going to plans, you'll see there is a TradingView plan. You'll want to make sure if you want to connect to TradingView, you need to have this. So it's $9.99 per month. Make

[02:31] sure you get this set up or else you will not be able to log in when you go to TradingView. Once this is all done, let's go head over to TradingView. So once you are here in TradingView, you're going to want to go find the window for your brokerage. You can simply do that by clicking

[02:47] the trade button here and finding NinjaTrader. If you want to make sure that NinjaTrader always shows up at the top, make sure to start it and keep it on your favorites so it will always be here. Or you can go ahead and click into it and then log in. So here we are and you can see we

[03:03] are connected to NinjaTrader and you can hover over that. It shows us connected. The trade tab, you can see we are connected and for the sake of this we are on a demo account i'm not trying to place real orders for this now with this let's go over all the features within tradingview so the

[03:19] first thing is we going to go over the settings right so these general settings what do they do buy and sell buttons these are the buttons up here that allow you to buy or sell so those will turn that on or off now what does one click trading do this allows

[03:32] you to trade in one click so for instance if this is turned off and we try to buy we're not going to be able to buy right away right it's going to give us this window if this is turned on we can hit buy

[03:44] and you can see we're right away into a position here right so that is what one click trading does execution sound do you want that on or off and then we can also show the only rejection

[03:56] notifications right so if you don't want to see all these orders that pop up here and you only want to see the rejected ones you can do that there now appearance right this will show you if you want when we're in a trade do you want to see the reverse button you can go ahead and turn

[04:10] that on or off and that will allow you to reverse a position what is reversing a position it's where if you are in a long position and you hit reverse it's going to flip that to a short position. So if you notice we just exited our long position and now we're in short as you can see by the red

[04:27] line versus the blue line. So let's go back into our settings here. We can also have a setting that says project for market orders and so what that would do is if we have the order window open and we have a market order ready to go it's going to project for that. So for instance we'll turn

[04:44] that one we can open up the order window and if we have this market you'll see it's dragging this along with us right so you can see how it's just projecting where the market order would be so that

[04:58] is what that setting does right so now let's go into the other settings now we can also show the profit or loss do we want to see in money like this do we want to see it in ticks like that

[05:10] you want to see it in percentage you can adjust all of that in here and that's the same thing with brackets and then in terms of execution marks right do you want to see the execution marks on the screen if we turn that on it will show that if you want to see the labels it will

[05:24] show that right and you can see we reversed our position since we reversed we had to sell two and then sell another two so that's why it's two and then four now this button right here extend

[05:36] price lines across the entire chart width if we turn that off right you'll notice it only shows our position right here it doesn't show a whole line across the screen that is just up to you on what you want to see or not see and you want it on the right you can have your position in the center

[05:52] if that's what you like or even on the left side i personally like the right side and there you go and then this is if you take a screenshot of chart do you want your orders executions and positions

[06:05] to all show up there right so those are those main settings there hopefully that makes sense now let's talk about the settings on the chart here so like we said we have the buy and sell

[06:17] buttons what if we want to place an order on the chart here and i don't want to just buy or sell i want to have orders with it well i can always hit the plus button and that will allow me to place a limit or a stop loss or anything like that or i can also hit add an order now it might be annoying

[06:34] that this is just in the middle of your screen. So what can you do? You can click the three dots here and then dock to the right and that will make sure it's always on the right side and keeps your screen free and clear So let go over this We have market order limit order stop order So what is that Market order will fill you out whatever the best price is so if I let say one and I

[06:59] want to get out of one of these at the market I could go ahead and buy one back at the market and it's just gonna give me the best price I can get right so it's just gonna automatically fill it me not at a specified price now let's say I

[07:13] wanted to get a limit right a limit is going to fill me at a specific price so I can either adjust that in here like let's say I wanted to go to point zero right there is a buy limit down there point zero right now another thing I can

[07:29] do is I can just drag this on the chart as you saw so let's say I wanted to get my entry right there I could drag it and it's going to automatically address that price for me right so you can see this is the price that you're going to have a

[07:45] winner at you'll see the market order doesn't give you that because it's just giving you the best price possible at the time right so if you buy you're going to hit the ask if you sell you're going to hit the bid we already went

[07:57] over how to reverse a position let's say I wanted to exit a position well I could either buy out of the market right because I am in a sell position I'm in one I could buy that back or I could set a limit right by clicking on there by a limit right or

[08:15] what else can I do I'm trying to do here I can just click this x button and it's going to close the position for me so you can see how those are all working there's various different ways now let's say I wanted to take a position that has a stop loss and a take profit I can go ahead

[08:30] and turn these on right and then i can adjust them so let's say for instance we'll just give an example let's say i was going to take a long position like that right and i wanted to buy it

[08:42] right here right it's going to show me based off of what i selected my profit and loss right on these brackets right based off of what i've inputted if i go to two units it's going to

[08:55] obviously raise the risk because you're in two units versus one now one thing you can do here is you can see an adjust this let's say you want to risk three thousand dollars right it's going to

[09:07] put that closest to three thousand dollars based off the orders you have there let's say i want to risk 1500 right it's going to put it closest to 1500 and you can see let's say i wanted to risk

[09:20] three hundred dollars it's not going to be able to because i cannot do that with less than one unit and that's where I would want to use micros right but for instance if we just keep this at one minute

[09:35] we can go ahead and adjust that that's our rift right there now that is our take profit order our stop loss order right those are going to be an oco order so one cancels the other so if we go ahead and buy this for instance and we'll try to get our stop loss filled here

[09:54] all right we'll just get into this position So here we are into this position and then we'll try to get this stop loss filled. What do I mean by an OCO? It means one cancels the other.

[10:06] Since these were placed together, it means that if this one fills, it's going to cancel this one. If this one fills it going to cancel this one So for instance let see if we can just get this to fill It filled our take profit so it cancelled our stop loss so that really how you can use the window pane on trading view now if

[10:27] you notice it's getting super hectic in here how can we adjust that we can go to our settings right and what do we want to turn off probably execution labels and then maybe execution marks and you can

[10:39] You can see how it cleans it up a bit there. Let's say we wanted to, once again, put on an order for $300 of risk during launch. Well, I'd ideally want to be taking a buy.

[10:51] Where is my stop loss? Where is my take profit? Let's say it's that. And I want to do $300 right here. Well, if you notice, that's not possible, right? There's no way to risk $300 with my stop loss there.

[11:04] That is where we would want to go to micros. So we could go to MGC, right? do that you can see it will adjust and then we can do the same thing we want to buy we want our stop

[11:16] loss there right our take profit wherever we had it and then I want to risk what three hundred dollars right you can see it will automatically calculate the position size needed to get closest

[11:28] to that level there of three hundred dollars of risk now if you notice as it goes further away it's going to keep that $300 of risk, right? And try to get you closest to that. So you can see

[11:41] here we're at seven contracts because we have a tighter stop loss. Here we're only using one, right? And we can't get any closer to 300 there. That is how you can adjust your position size based off of just inputting what risk amount you want. Now I get a lot of questions about how to

[11:57] take partials in TradingView. So let's say for instance, we are in a position of six contracts. We are in six contracts. Let's say I wanted to add a stop loss. Well, I can just go ahead.

[12:09] Where do I want my stop loss? I can right click and then I can put a stop. Since I'm in a buy, I would need a sell stop. And you can see that's why I put in a stop loss. Now let's say I wanted to trail the position. I can just go ahead and move this, right? So I can move this to trail

[12:26] the position. Now let's say I wanted to take partials. Well, how many do I want to take off? let's say I'm in six I want to take off three I can go ahead and take three off here I can go ahead and just sell at the market right or what can I do I can

[12:42] right-click and place a limit right that will place a limit to sell and that's how I can take partials right so I can take a partial with a limit order take a partial with a market order I can also drag this around how I choose so let's

[12:58] I wanted to get out of this for some reason I could take that down and you can see now I'm in three I will adjust my stop loss now that I have taken partials I can go ahead click on it and adjust it

[13:10] so now my stop loss is the same amount as my position size now please let me know if you guys have any questions or I missed anything about this we have questions specific to the order pane in TradingView if you do I'll go ahead and try to read those comments and answer them for you

[13:26] I can always make another video, but I hope you found this useful. And if you did, please consider liking and subscribing, and I'll see you guys in the next one. Have a good one.
