Sibling Dynamic
Provides insight into the character development focus.
[01:49]Jesse as FBC Head
A major plot point that changes the story trajectory.
[03:14]Playable Dylan
A key gameplay feature distinguishing the sequel.
[07:48][00:00] I'm most excited for people to experience is run around at me this time. Everybody is just really fleshed out and thought out. This is a character that I absolutely love.
[00:12] We've been working with Courtney and Sean for almost 10 years in Control franchise and
[00:31] obviously even earlier on Quantum Break and it's been a super nice collaboration building these characters from the ground up. Of course, both Dylan and Jesse in original control are quite different from what we have in Resonant.
[00:46] Both characters have grown, and we worked together with Courtney and Sean to build those characters. So it's been nice. They know the franchise well, we know the characters well, so there have been a few challenges to go really, really wild with them, especially on Resonant.
[01:04] Working with Remedy on this project is a lot of fun. It's so thrilling to get the call that something you've been in is going to get a sequel. Yeah. Because you get to revisit a character you've done before, that you've lived in,
[01:17] and watch them change into something new. And that's really a thrilling experience. Yeah, absolutely. And I love that we get to explore Jesse and Dylan more, because I'm so invested in Jesse and Dylan's life.
[01:33] and to be able to see that play out and to get more in-depth of their story is really fun and really exciting. And to be doing it again, to be doing it with the Remedy family is an honor.
[01:49] It's really cool to explore a sibling dynamic as actors anyway, because siblings are so close. You can fight with a sibling more than you can fight with anybody else.
[02:01] You can also love a sibling more than you could love anybody else. They can be your best friend and the most frustrating person in the world at the same time And so that dynamic is starting to take shape more in Control Resonance I also think it really fascinating that even in you know the first control
[02:21] feeling like, you know, wanting to take care of somebody else, wanting to be there for someone else that, you know, I, as Jesse, care about so much, but also finding my own way, finding my own purpose too.
[02:34] And I think that continues, right? it's co-regulating of each other, right? It's like how you're feeling and so on and so on. It's kind of that thing when they were young, right? They feel each other so deeply, but then to learn to be autonomous of that.
[02:48] And what does that look like in the world? In this crazy, weird, broken world, what does that look like? So there's challenges in another self then because there's so many possibilities and so many options. And sometimes it's not even about choosing the right one.
[03:02] It's just about choosing the most interesting one and the one that kind of unearths other interesting options. And it's wild to wake up and discover your sister is the director of the FTC.
[03:14] Yeah. Baller. I'm just kidding. It's been a dream getting to work with Remedy on this project.
[03:27] You could just feel all of the care and the passion that the team has put into the characters because everybody is just really fleshed out and thought out and has a lot of depth to them. So I think the way that Zoe really changes her out,
[03:41] can still resonate, is kind of her journey takes her from somebody who's really jaded with her life and with her position at the FTC and among meeting and working with Dylan and talking with somebody who doesn't have as many life experiences,
[03:56] I think that she gains a lot of, you know, perspective and appreciation for life. And it seems a lot of them could be out of it. When I heard about Control Resonant and that Darling were coming back, I was absolutely thrilled.
[04:08] I mean, this is a character that I absolutely love and you know when it when that game ended it like all you wanted to do is to come back So they wanted to say hey it coming back I was thrilled I mean I couldn wait Couldn wait to do it Darling relationship with the FBC
[04:27] is complex. He's a scientist, but he also is trying to protect the FBC and the world from destruction. So it's very layered, what's going on. Because he's not in charge of the
[04:45] SBC, but he's been left to figure all that out. Working with Romany on this project has been a dream. I just love it.
[04:57] It's amazing to work with Hannah, the director, who I've known for a long time, and I adore her, and just everyone. And to be part of this really small part in this massive, intricate world, it's very exciting.
[05:09] I love someone. She is kind, she's loyal, she's generous, she's brilliant, obsessive, obsessive about her work, and she loves her work.
[05:22] She's, where other people see the hair natural and they are frightened, she, you know, she just loves it. She wants to understand it and categorize it and map it, and that, yeah, that's her passion. Yeah, she's really exciting.
[05:35] When I found out about Control Resonance, I was super excited because I'd been looking for an opportunity to come back and work with Memedy and revisit the character for the longest. And I didn't know if it was going to happen.
[05:47] I mean, it's been a while. So usually if you don't hear about a sequel within a few years, you can kind of count it out. So it was a great surprise to get the phone call. And to revisit a character which I thought had a lot of potential to go in plenty of different directions.
[06:03] and I was really excited to see where the character would go. Simon Reich is an incredibly honorable man. He is a loyal person. He cares deeply for the people that he works with at the FBC. That's really, really clear.
[06:15] And he often puts other people before himself. I think over the course of his time at the Bureau, that has caused him a lot of angst and ground down on him.
[06:28] But deep down he a really good guy Playing Langston Control 1 was a real journey of discovery for me discovering the whole world as it were and trying to figure out who this person was
[06:41] Because on the first read of the script, you could sometimes only see the sort of negative or the more overtly bruck side of him. And it was only once we got into the sessions and doing the recording that we started to dig in and dig back the layers
[06:55] and first find the more caring person underneath. And he's there. I promise you, he's there.
[07:09] Working with Remedy now for 12 years has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. I mean, to have a family that's so loyal that you continue to get to grow with and learn from them.
[07:21] I mean, I'm definitely different than I was back then. Yeah, yeah. As a person, we definitely grew up, and it's fun. We've known each other now the whole time, and it's really cool to work with someone in different capacities for over a decade,
[07:35] and then come back to the same company that they love us being here, and I'm sure that we both love being here, too. Yes, we definitely do. I'm most excited for people to experience running around as me this time.
[07:48] Like in the first control, you run around as her, and then this one you get to run around as me, and I hope that people like running around in Dylan's shoes and, you know, using his weapon and, you know, fighting the Hiss
[08:00] and doing all of those things. Yeah, I'm actually most excited for that as well because what I was going to say is just having a different perspective of the Sibley story and that's what I'm most excited about. It's so interesting and it's so powerful
[08:14] and to be able to get a different perspective into it is going to be really, really fun for everyone. Absolute cinema.
