Exposed: The Scam Behind Digital Marketing
45sCreator promises to expose famous people he's worked with, creating immediate curiosity and controversy.
▶ Play Clip"Delivers on the promise of exposing a bad business experience, though it's more of a personal rant than a systematic exposé."
In this video, Gabriel exposes his negative experiences working with prominent figures in the Brazilian digital marketing industry, detailing a specific contract where he was underpaid and misled. He shares a cautionary tale about trusting influential 'players' who promise percentages and opportunities but fail to honor agreements, ultimately advising viewers not to trust anyone in business.
Gabriel introduces the video as an exposé of people he's worked with in digital marketing, mentioning he used to do haircuts for several well-known figures like Primo Rico, Natalia Bey, Thiago Reis, Cris Arcangeli, and Penoni.
In 2011-2012, Gabriel trusted someone who promised to recruit him for a monetization networking event. He deleted his most-viewed video due to copyright issues to join, but the person disappeared, marking his first lesson in misplaced trust.
In March/April 2023, while closing his company in São Paulo, Gabriel was contacted by a couple (a famous digital marketer and partner) who wanted his services. He negotiated a deal: R$10,000 for two daily videos (horizontal and vertical) plus R$6,000 for mentoring, totaling R$16,000, but they insisted on R$10,000.
Gabriel accepted the reduced R$10,000 despite it being a red flag. He notes that famous people often try to get work for free, citing an event where filmmakers worked for exposure instead of pay.
Gabriel worked intensely, posting 16 videos a day, managing the team, recording classes, and setting up the course on Hotmart. He was promised 5% of the training's revenue, but the launch used only organic traffic, limiting sales.
Gabriel moved to São Paulo to take over marketing, but upon arrival, the leadership structure changed, and he was no longer the leader. He felt undermined and stopped attending in person.
The course launched and sold R$200,000 organically. Gabriel expected 5% (R$10,000) but after 30 days, they didn't pay. He discovered they had already withdrawn the money from Hotmart, violating the 30-day payment promise.
From October to December, Gabriel chased payment. They offered R$7,000 instead of R$10,000, citing deductions. He threatened to withhold materials, and on December 30th, they finally paid, but only after almost 3 months and at a reduced amount (effectively 2.8%).
In 2024, the same people lost half a million followers due to a bad marketing strategy. Gabriel reflects that people overestimate the wealth of influencers; they often have less money than perceived, and many are in debt.
Gabriel concludes with a strong warning: don't trust anyone in business, especially influential figures who may exploit your work and fail to honor agreements. He emphasizes that the image projected online is often inflated, and even successful people may struggle financially.

25:05[00:02] this video, I'm going to expose some of the people I've worked with, mainly in digital marketing, right? I think there are a few politicians I've worked with. For those who don't know, I used to do haircuts, but I don't
[00:17] have a waiting list for people who want me to do haircuts. see here is just one of them. And today I'm going to talk a little
[00:30] about one person in particular, right? I wo n't talk about everyone because I had a problem with just one person. I've worked with Primo Rico on Primo Cast, with Natalia Bey, with Thiago Reis, with Cris Arcangeli, with
[00:45] V4 Company, with Penoni. I've done haircuts for Penoni. I've done haircuts for all of them, and it's not a joke. To this day, I still have access to some of their channels. Look, there's Primo Rico's channel, there's
[01:00] Cris's channel, but I'm not going to show much. I have access, but I don't go in; it's not my interest. But I still have access. They haven't taken away my access, I think because they just forgot. But everything... Well, I have a
[01:15] story to tell you all. I don't know if you saw the last video about the who didn't understand the idea of the failed YouTuber. But the idea of the achieve results like someone who's been on YouTube for 13 years. Like, many
[01:30] people have been on YouTube for 13 years and are huge, and I'm not, right? So if you haven't watched it, watch it. It was the last video I posted, okay? And I was trusting someone. My first mistake was trusting someone I had a
[01:46] channel with back in 2011. And then in 2012, I started to explode with a video, and then someone contacted me saying they were going to recruit me monetized on YouTube because of networking. And so I trusted this person.
[02:01] my videos that had copyright issues—it was the video that was getting the most views on my channel—for me to join this networking event. So I deleted the video and the person disappeared. That was the first time I made a mistake trusting
[02:14] people, but it wasn't the first or last time. I kept making mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, until the story I'm going to tell you today... okay, I'm not going to mention names, okay, want to mess with anyone, especially because the person who scammed
[02:30] because the person who scammed me, so to speak, is a person me, so to speak, is a person who, man, [ __ ] her, you understand, [ __ ] her, I only wish her well because, damn it, man. A few
[02:42] months ago, this person did a marketing strategy, calling themselves a marketer, and lost half a million followers because of this shitty strategy they did. But okay, okay, let's talk about the next story. In
[02:58] 2023, last year, in March/ April, I was closing my company in São Paulo where I had a podcast studio, I had the "Pode Viajar" and "Pode Brisa" podcasts, we also provided podcast services there. I was
[03:13] closing that company and we weren't... With no more clients, we had fired all our clients, and there were three partners, right? Me, Evaldo, and Stephany. And then each one went their own way, and I was the guy who did the haircuts,
[03:25] right? I always made content about haircuts and continued in the area, and when we were handing over the studio, someone contacted me, a couple, right? A couple contacted me saying they
[03:38] wanted my services, and I thought it was great, right? Because I had no clients, I didn't even know what I was going to do, where I was going. Oh man, at least a job came up for me to do, so I went there and negotiated. And one thing here,
[03:51] guys, I've even received this feedback that I 'm... well, not that I'm good at negotiating, but man, I know, I see value in my service, you know? And I 'll even talk about numbers
[04:05] 'll even talk about numbers here, the person wanted, I think, and one horizontal cornrow per day at the channel, and that service alone was R$10,000, right? It's
[04:18] R$1,000, right? Today, the minimum I charge is R$ They charged 10,000 to do this kind of service, but besides that, they wanted me to be a mentor, you know? Like when I provided services to Primo and all those guys, I wasn't a mentor, you
[04:34] managed my team, and that was it. I had my other clients. In this case, they wanted something different; they wanted me to be their organic content strategist, simple as that. So I said, "Oh, I'm not doing anything, I don't have
[04:48] any clients, I have time, let's do this." So that was the first client where I was there—let me see if it's recording, I think it's recording the audio because, you know how it is sometimes—uh, so the first time I
[05:00] provided this kind of service with Gabriel, like getting into the business, and they told me that, like, they were selling me that if I had great performance, they would give me a percentage
[05:14] of things, you know, over time. So I said, " Oh man, let's do it," but I didn't charge R$ 1,000, right? In this case, I charged up to... and it was... That price is misleading. I charged R$16,000 for that kind of service. And this guy
[05:30] many people know him, even people who aren't in digital marketing know him very, very, very famous, and who, in theory, has a lot of money too, right? And so, man, I'm a very assertive guy when it comes to
[05:48] R$10,000 to do two rooms a day, one horizontal and one vertical, plus R$ 6,000 for me to join you guys." And what happened? The R$16,000 didn't happen, right? They started saying, "Oh man, it won't be
[06:00] 16,000. Let's do 10,000." I said, "Oh man, 10,000? How so, 10,000?" Then I, man, I'm always like that, I say, "No, it does n't make sense, does it?" So I stopped them. I said, "It won't work, it won't work for
[06:13] 10,000, it won't work." Then the person went there and... He said, " to work with us," and man, that's what I'm trying to tell you, when these guys are really famous,
[06:25] they'll make you work for them for free, you know? It's at that level, but man, I don't work for free, you know? I don't work for free, not a chance, just because of a story. And they do that a lot, like,
[06:38] man, we were at an event once, and I needed some filmmakers to capture this person at a lecture. And instead of paying the guys, they agreed to do some
[06:52] stories. What did they get out of it? Nothing, nothing, nothing. The most they got was a portfolio, like, "I've worked with this person before." That's the maximum. Okay, but that doesn't work for me, but anyway, in the end I accepted the R$
[07:06] 10,000, that's the first red flag, man, for someone so famous, so this, so that. Man, there's no way I wouldn't accept their service, man, it was through a speaking teacher, but I... The professor was the guy who recommended me the most in this
[07:22] field, okay? And when it's a recommendation, but there's no secret, there's no secret, it's... there's no secret, you understand? It's a recommendation. The guy didn't just approach you out of nowhere; it was my work because my work is the best, simple work. But even so,
[07:39] he insisted it be R$1,000. Okay, so that was the first red flag. I shouldn't have even accepted those R$ 1,000. You must be saying, "R$ 10,000 is a lot, it's a lot of money." I also think it's a lot of money,
[07:54] 10,000, 16,000, but like, man, what can you do? It's this is just the beginning of the story. This story lasts about 6 or 7 months, okay?
[08:09] So, I started working with this person for R$10,000, and I was always thinking, "Okay, okay, I'll accept the R$1,000," thinking about it. Up something, it's a very promising company and so on. And then I
[08:24] kept working, man, I think it was... well, I can't say it was the year I worked the most in my life because 2022 was tough, 2021 was very tough, but 2023 was the year I worked the most with the client I worked with in my
[08:37] an absurd result on YouTube, we got TikTok, and we almost reached 1 million followers, now it must have hit 1 I was posting, there was a time when I was posting 16 videos, and it wasn't just cuts, okay,
[08:54] I didn't just do cuts, I didn't just do cuts, I did much more, man, that's it, I did much more, much, much more. I was posting 16 videos a day much more. I was posting 16 videos a day on
[09:09] I'm going to give away who's old, don't comment below, who's not, please. Damn, I think I'm going to have to mute this thing, man. Damn, I didn't want to edit, but okay, it'll be worth it to have to
[09:23] edit around the 10-minute mark, damn it! But so, I was posting 16 videos a But so, I was posting 16 videos a day and delivering a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, and always thinking about that percentage that would come at any
[09:40] working a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, this great opportunity came for me to get a percentage and be a player in digital marketing. You know these people sell info-products, right? So what happened was
[09:56] they had a training program, an entry-level training that costs R$1,000, right? But it's an entry-level program, like a start, of what I'm trying to say here without
[10:09] revealing who it is, it's a product, you understand? And it was an old product, I think from 2021, so I had to... what was my role? Do everything, you understand? Do everything. classes that still needed to be recorded. I had to watch the
[10:24] understand at all. I mean, now I understand a lot, you understand? I understand a lot, I can't even say... Okay, so I don't know if I'll deliver everything right away, but basically I had to manage the team to do the recording, the teacher
[10:39] to do the AAS (Academic Assistance Programs). It wasn't the person there, the player, who recorded the classes; it was the player, who recorded the classes; it was the assistants, the helpers. And man, I did everything: I put them on Hotmart. The only thing I didn't touch
[10:53] was traffic. And first, let's see, they gave me, I think, 5% of the revenue. And that was the negotiation, it was like 5%
[11:05] that was the negotiation, it was like 5% of the total revenue of this training. Keep that in mind, 5%, I think it was 5%, but it does n't matter, it was something like that. And okay, okay, there's so much, guys, so much, let's just talk about that
[11:18] percentage for now. And okay, I delivered everything, I put the course online, it was ready. Besides that, I did live streams, I, Gabriel, because at the time of the launch, this person had a trip to China, you
[11:33] know how China works, right? So I opened the Stores, did live streams from my PC using OBS, man. I did everything, configured the mini-chat, did everything, we put the course online. On air, and then came the launch part. We launched
[11:49] everything, great. First point: not using traffic. I thought they were going to use paid traffic, you know how it works? It was all organic, only on YouTube videos, only on Instagram. The sales were concentrated there, and we also
[12:03] WhatsApp group, but all organically. So, first, I got pissed off and said, "Damn, you're going to give 5% of a course that you're not even going to use traffic for?" And you said you were going to use traffic, right? Then the revenue would be much
[12:16] higher. But that's not what happened. So, first point... another thing, I wasn't in São Paulo. These players are all from Alphaville, right? I wasn't in São Paulo, I was in Florianópolis, and I wasn't thinking about
[12:31] sometimes I came to São Paulo to accompany this person, to do podcasts, to do some recordings, for us to have some meetings. So earned, the R$10,000 per month, I spent on the team and on these trips
[12:45] really focused on the project. I was fully committed to delivering everything, percentages that would come with time, with my delivery, with my super delivery, which was exactly a super delivery. But anyway, then there was a final
[13:00] Paulo where they said, "No, Gabriel, do the following: come to São Paulo, listen, come to PR São Paulo, you're going to take over the company's marketing." And I knew everyone in marketing, man. When I came to São Paulo, I stayed at the headquarters, I hung out
[13:15] realized that wasn't marketing, it had nothing to do with marketing. I was going to set up a podcast studio there, man, do something really crazy, but okay, that was the idea. So, okay, I'm going to São Paulo, I'm going to
[13:28] live in São Paulo. Where is the company located? Well, it in São Paulo isn't cheap, especially near that place where they
[13:41] are, which is a very upscale area. Okay, then... I moved to live near the company, and after I moved, I did everything, man, it's a lot of work, okay? I have a dog that weighs almost 30 kg, you know? To leave Florida,
[13:56] my biggest baggage is that, man, but anyway, then I moved to São Paulo, and with all this stuff from the course running, the cuts, everything running, a lot of visualization, I have all the graphs here too of the results we had, and everything was great, great, great,
[14:11] great. Then I moved to São Paulo, and I went there to have another meeting with them in Alphaville, and when I arrived, everything had changed. "Ah, Gabriel, now you're not going to be the boss or the leader of marketing anymore, now we have
[14:25] a new leadership scheme, which is a leader, I don't even remember the story, I don't even story, but it was in groups, like there wouldn't be a leader, it would be in groups, like there would be responsible groups." Man, I said, "Man, it's not possible, it's not possible, because I came here to... I
[14:40] was already like, man, let's blow this up, let's be a reference, let's be, it was already done, but let's be more, you know?" Then when... I arrived and it wasn't anything like that, okay? So I moved to São Paulo, near the company. I already started
[14:56] seeing these inconsistencies. I started calling them back then, and they went from started calling them back then, and they went from 16,000 to 10,000. Okay, I said, "Oh no, okay." Then they wanted me to go to the company to
[15:08] job... Man, I don't need to be there. They wanted me to go man, there were so many people, like 10 or 12 people in Marketing, random things, just bothering me. And man, I 'm the caveman, you see this
[15:22] cave here? I work from home, I don't need to go anywhere. So what did they want? They wanted me to be there in person, man? I went once or twice, then I didn't go anymore. I said, " [ __ ] it. You don't even pay me for this, do you?"
[15:34] And also, if I were the leader of the group, I would have gone easily, but I wasn't, I was just another one there, so basically they were losing the best, okay? "
[15:47] Man, I don't joke around, I don't joke around, I'm the best in my field, you understand? And there I was being the best because I don't come here to play around, you understand? For me, it was a great opportunity, right? In my head, that's why I say don't
[16:00] trust people, especially those big players. But okay, okay, it hasn't even those big players. But okay, okay, it hasn't even arrived yet, you must be thinking, 'Oh, Gabriel is complaining about a full bag,' yeah, I'm complaining about a
[16:12] full bag, right? Okay, but okay, then it closed, we launched, we sold, I think, man, we sold very little, we sold, I think we sold 200,000, that's it, R$ 200,000 organically, just on Instagram,
[16:28] putting people on WhatsApp, man, I remember I made a 24-hour support, those supports with artificial intelligence, I trained that support so I wouldn't have a support team, man, what I did with that client, I did
[16:43] n't even do it to myself, you understand? So, okay, then we launched, sold, sold, sold. And then what was the deal, and after a month, right, because there were some..." It took
[16:55] 30 days from Hotmart to receive the money, which is what they said, right? That it would take 30 days to make the payment, and they said they would pay after 30 days, and after 30 days they didn't pay. I
[17:10] have all the conversations on WhatsApp today, everything is here, even screenshots, right? Because if I delete them I still have them, but it's okay. And then I said, "Damn it, I'm screwed," right? Since I said, "Man, they're not going to pay me, like it was R$10,000, right? 5% of
[17:25] going to pay me, like it was R$10,000, right? 5% of R$200,000 is R$10,000," and then I started to went to Hotmart, I had access to everything, right? All of Hotmart, I saw there that they had already made the withdrawal, that there was nothing about 30 days, they had taken the
[17:38] days, they had taken the money before, you understand, man, rotten, rotten, garbage, you understand, garbage, garbage, garbage, garbage, money before, you understand, man, rotten, rotten, garbage, you understand, garbage, garbage, garbage, garbage, 's receive it after 30 days. Thirty days passed and nothing was paid. I thought, "Oh,
[17:53] interesting, isn't it?" I don't remember exactly if it was in September or October when they in September of 2023, last year. Then in October I
[18:06] started charging nothing, then in November I started charging nothing either, then in December we closed, there was no more partnership, we were only going to work for six months, right? They didn't want to renew the contract. They didn't want to pay me those
[18:22] contract. They didn't want to pay me those 5%. And then, look at this, there was a time when man, I don't like to keep chasing people, I don't need to chase them, chase them, they know what they need to do, you understand? And in this
[18:38] way, man, these guys are adults, these guys are adults and they don't know they have to pay what was agreed upon, what was agreed upon, didn't they? They did are adults and they don't know they have to pay what was agreed upon, what was agreed upon, didn't they? They did lowered to 10,000. Second thing they said... I came to São Paulo to move
[18:51] from Florianópolis to take over the marketing, but not the third-party marketing. They didn't pay the 5% they said they would, right? That was the peak, right? And after we closed the deal, there was nothing left. Look
[19:06] what I did: I said, "Look, I had access to everything, everything, everything, everything, all the materials, all the cuts, everything. I had access to a lot of things, I think I had about 500 GB just from that client." So I said, "Look, if
[19:19] you don't pay me, I'm not going to deliver the material that you have, that is yours, that belongs to you." Simple as that. And that wasn't enough for them; they continued not paying. Then, on December 30th, I said, "Look, check
[19:34] Mat fi." I sent a message on WhatsApp on December 30th, after almost three months, almost three months to pay me. I said, "Look, if you don't pay me today, I 'm considering that you... ah, wait, before... okay." I talked to them and they
[19:47] pay you." But then you have to take... The tax has to take this, it has to take that, and what wasn't 5% of the total revenue? I do n't know what it is, and so they did n't want to pay 10,000, they wanted to pay 7,000. And besides that, I still receive money... So, I
[20:00] have to pay my tax, right? That's basically it. So in the end, I didn't receive 5%, I received 2.8%. I had done the calculations received 2.8%. I had done the calculations like that, and it was close to 3% that I was going to receive. Then it was like, "No,
[20:12] But then you have to deduct this, this, and that. So, that. So, man, it's all nonsense, you know? Just nonsense. And like, for me, for these people, R$3,000 makes no difference at all,
[20:25] right? R$10,000, R$7,000, it makes no difference at all, right? But apparently, later on we little more about this, but anyway, there was this first one: I said, "No way, no way this first one: I said, "No way, no way you're going to pay me less
[20:41] you're going to pay me less than R$10,000, less than 5%, you know?" pay me. I prefer, I want my R$ 10,000. And another thing, when we settled the company's payment, normally I receive, like,
[20:54] every 10th of the month, I receive R$10,000. In this case, with this company, I received it separately. I used to receive payments on the 10th and 25th, and I already started to find it strange. Besides the 16,000 and the 10,000, I was receiving 5,000 on the 10th and
[21:08] 5,000 on the 25th. This had never happened with any other company, only this one. So, back then, I was kind of trusting people, you know, like a fool. I didn't start withdrawing money, but they'd already lowered the price and
[21:21] were paying me as if it were twice a month. Okay, but it passed. Then there was this thing about not wanting to pay the 5%, wanting to deduct a bunch of things, and besides that, I'd have to pay my taxes too, but okay.
[21:34] And then December 30th came, I went there and said, "Listen, if you don't pay me today, I'm considering that you've cheated me, it's over." And you know what happened? They paid me, but after almost 3
[21:48] months. And that's it, that's the conclusion. What happens in 2024 now, man, almost... Every two months, these people would call me to work with people would call me to work with them.
[22:02] made a huge mistake, losing half a million followers on Instagram because of their stupidity, because they don't know how to do marketing, because they're dumb, you know? They're bad people, you know? It's bad, and I thought
[22:16] they were really good people, they seemed nice and good to us and all, that people didn't stay, like, the people who worked with them didn't case, I stayed six months working with them,
[22:29] but it's okay, let me see what else... Ah, and then I started working with another person who is also in the same field, but not as famous, and then this person said that nobody
[22:45] likes this person I worked with, and a mentor, there's a mentor for all these people who teaches, teaches, it 's the mentor, you know, it's the mentor who teaches people how to work properly in this field. And then there was a time in
[23:01] I worked with also participated in this... The mentor said that there were some people I worked with who seemed—and I mean "seemed"—they worked with who seemed—and I mean "seemed"—they
[23:16] very rich, but they weren't, you know? One thing I discovered with all this is that we overestimate with all this is that we overestimate people. That's
[23:29] it. In the end, why didn't they pay me 16,000 and paid me 10,000? Because they might make money, they might make money. There are many people who make a lot of money, but they also spend a lot of money. It's no use making a
[23:44] lot of money and spending a lot of money. So that was basically it with them. We think, let's say, let's take So that was basically it with them. We think, let's say, let's take think the rich cousin has in his account? I 'll say, I don't know, 100 million. He
[23:59] probably has less. It's always like that. How much does Eric Roch have in his account? 200 million. He probably has less than that. It's always like that. less than that. It's always like that. That's the rule. The image that
[24:12] people project on the internet is always much bigger, you understand? Much bigger, you probably think I earn, I do n't know, you think I earn anything, I don't know, oh, I'll give you an example here, R$100,000 is less, you understand, they
