FunTV Review: Can You Really Earn Money Watching Drama Videos?

[00:00] I recently came across an app that claims  you can earn money just by watching short   drama videos on your phone. So, it sounds like  fun, right? So, I decided to actually test it.   It is called FunTV. But before you rush to  download it, there's something very important  

[00:15] you need to know about how it really works.  And I will share all my experiences and all   the details in this video so you can find out  if this is right opportunity for you or not.   In case you don't know, my name is Mikael and  on this channel here, I test different ways  

[00:29] to make money online so you can find out what  actually works and what to avoid so you don't   waste your time. Today, I will take you inside  an app I have recently tested called FunTV,   which claims you can earn by watching short drama  style videos. It's a bit different from the usual  

[00:45] watch and earn apps I have tested before. And  while you potentially can earn, you need to   know exactly what to expect. So, let's go through  how it really works and what you need to be aware   of before you try it. So, let's start by going  over who can join. And FunTV has an app for both  

[01:02] Android and iOS devices. And from what I've been  able to find out, it is available in more or less   all countries. But that doesn't mean, as mentioned  earlier, that you should rush to download it.   Let's first take an inside look so you will know  whether it's really worth it and what to expect.  

[01:16] So, let me just log in. So I am now logged into  the app and you can see there are plenty of drama   series and small videos you can watch here and  all you would then need to do is to click to watch  

[01:29] one and it will play and then you can see there  is also a counter there that counts these coins   and it looks like you are earning a lot and now it  just disappears once in a while there but you need   to click to claim it but it will just count all  the time when you are watching these short drama  

[01:44] videos there and this particular one is almost 2  minutes but there are different playlist so you   can also watch longer dramas in small bits if you  want to. So, how it works is that then you would   need to click to claim and then you can see you  can also get check-in rewards and everything. But  

[01:59] every time you click something in here, there  will be ads, a lot of ads. Even when you just   open the app and when you're just navigating  around, there will random ads will pop up. So,   there's a ton of ads. So, whatever you do, there  will just be ads, ads, ads. And some of the ads  

[02:16] will be very long also. So, that's something to  be aware of. That's how they make money and that's   why they say they will also pay you to actually  watch these dramas. But in reality, what they will   pay you to do is to watch ads because that's how  they make money and they have a ton of ads. So,  

[02:31] let me just be right back once this ad is  hopefully soon over. Once that ad was over,   a new one automatically started. So, I actually  had to sit and watch two long videos ads just to  

[02:43] be able to get those 800 coins. There you can  see. Then I could get more coins if I want to   watch another ad. But don't worry, I will not  force you to watch more. Oh, I have to watch an   ad anyway. So, even though I thought I actually  closed and said no to get the extra points,  

[02:57] they still show me a video ad. So, you can see  it's it really takes patience, but I'll just be   right back. So, I now finally managed to get out  of all the ads there. And you can see then there's  

[03:09] different other things you can watch ads in here.  You can do different other things you claim. You   can go back here and watch these episodes there or  these different dramas. And then again, I thought   I just could jump back and show you some more  dramas and an overview. But again, an ad pops up,  

[03:25] a random ad. I didn't click anything. I just want  to go back, navigate inside the app, and again, an   ad pops up. So, once that's over, let's just jump  straight to the payout section because I think you   kind of get the idea that there are all these  different things that you can click and watch,  

[03:39] but what they are really trying to do is just to  bombard you with ads because that's how they make   money. It takes a ton of patience and it is really  not user friendly. I've tested a lot of apps where   they have ads as a part of their way to monetize.  But this here is just like ridiculous how many ads  

[03:57] that are constantly thrown at you. But I'll just  be right back and see if I can get into the payout   section so we can talk about that because that's  of course an important part of figuring out if   it's worth it for you or not. So, I now managed  to get to the payout section and you can see  

[04:11] here is a withdrawal section and you can see how  many coins I have earned and you earn, you know,   a few hundreds here and there and sometimes it  can be thousands if you're willing to watch some   longer clips or a ton of ads. Really, that's how  you earn here. Even though they call it something  

[04:25] else, but but that's how you really earn whenever  you bombard with ads. So, you can see very clearly   the conversion there. So, I have 62,000 coins  and it's worth around 12 cents. So here you  

[04:37] can also see how much I would need to actually be  able to withdraw and I would need 8 million coins   to be able to withdraw and then I would get $15.  So I would say that out of I've tested hundreds  

[04:50] of different apps and I would say that it's  realistic earnings for an app like this where   you're just bombarded with ads. So, it's not that  they're making exaggerated earning claims, but   it's very clear here that you can see you need to  spend a ton of time, and I cannot even imagine how  

[05:05] many hours of ads you would have to watch to reach  this payout threshold. The payout threshold might   be different depending on your country, but no  matter what, you can definitely count on having to  

[05:18] watch many, many hours of ads before reaching the  payout threshold. But if you manage to reach it,   you can see you can withdraw via PayPal. I don't  know if the payout options are different in other  

[05:30] countries. They might be if you have actually used  it or if you're deciding to even though I don't   really recommend it unless you're extreme patient  and just love watching ads. But you know that's   up to you if you do that or if you already have  tested. Please let me know in your country which  

[05:46] country are you in? Which payout option? What was  the threshold? It' be nice to hear that. So please   share that in the comments below. But as you can  hear, I'm not super excited about it because I   just don't like an app like this where you're just  constantly bombarded with ads. If you're told that  

[06:01] by watching drama videos, but you're not really.  You're just bombarded with ads constantly, even   when you try to navigate inside the app. And I  really don't like that. But maybe you will notice  

[06:14] on Google Play, for example, that it actually has  quite good reviews. So, let's talk about why that   might be considering what I actually say about  it. So, on Google Play, you can see it actually   has more than 3,000 reviews and it has a rating  of 4.4. However, when you actually look at them,  

[06:33] if you just look at all these here, you can  see there's also a ton of 1-star reviews   and basically all the 5-star ones, it looks like  some kind of random AI written or something like   that, but it is basically an invite code. They  are trying to just promote the invite code because  

[06:49] you can earn more by inviting others. And that is  basically all the 5-star ones. You can see they   are promoting the different codes here. Invite  code there. But as you can also see it's actually  

[07:03] the same code. So it seems like one person has  just spammed a lot of reviews here with the exact   same code or the app is asking some people uh to  actually do this and share this invite code.  

[07:16] So it's a little bit strange uh why all of them  are like that but this kind of explains somebody   is clearly trying to make it look amazing. So you  use this invite code because they think that's a   way to really earn a lot. But personally how I  feel, and you know that if you watch my videos  

[07:33] before, I don't care if I can earn by inviting  other people to it if I don't think it's worth   it because in my opinion, it's really a waste of  time. It's really ineffective way to earn and then   I don't want to invite others even though it can  potentially boost my earnings there. So I don't  

[07:49] understand why people try to do this here but I  just wanted to talk about this because sometimes   lot poor ratings here and in general this is one  of the reasons that I am careful just trusting  

[08:02] blindly reviews on Google Play or Trust Pilot or  any review site like that because they can easily   be manipulated both in a positive and a negative  way. I always test and verify myself and try to  

[08:15] share both the pros and the cons and the details  and the nuances here on my channel. So overall,   as you can hear, I don't think FunTV is worth  it. It's just a ton of ads you have to watch and  

[08:28] you have to be extremely patient to earn enough  to actually get paid. Overall, you have to be   aware that watching ads or watching videos is not  something that will give huge earnings. In fact,   watching videos online, I get a lot of questions  about this. And it is one of the least effective  

[08:42] ways to earn online. There are legit sites that  will pay you and where it's more effective and   where you don't have as many ads to watch and  things like that where you can earn by watching   videos. [08:56] So, you can check that out. But please keep in  mind that it's one of the least effective ways to   earn online. So, keep that in mind. Personally, if  you were looking for free ways to earn a bit. So,   there are many other free ways to do that. It  can be paid service, paid offers, playing games,
