18-Year-Old's $13k/Month TikTok Strategy

Hi guys I'm Joel I'm 18 I'm from the UK. Joel guys has been someone I've been in style with for a bit of time now and this guy when it comes to content I'm not going to lie

[00:39] like when I first had a conversation with him I could just tell like he properly gets content so do you want to talk him through like your first bit of progression the start of your journey with TikTok making your first bit of money just briefly explain to the people in a given bit of context.

[00:53] yeah so i've been posting content for a decent while i even started posting like fortnite montages back in like 2021 so i really really like content so i've been posting for years and recently i decided to take it a bit more seriously and we had a good month i guess

[01:08] i guess come on bro you know you had a good month man that's crazy there's so many people came from the fortnite community i think i had a couple other people hop on here like the gaming community introduces people to content and from there they just go on to make

[01:20] a shitload of money. Okay, cool. So like, what kind of point did you get to, before this month, we'll talk about this month being your best month, but what kind of numbers were you hitting just, you know, throughout the last year? When was your first

[01:32] bit of money with TikTok and then, that'll be six weeks from now. I mean, my first bit of money with TikTok back in like, the creator beta, whatever. Yeah, the creator program beta. Yeah, like 15.

[01:44] I mean, my first few thousand dollars was nothing really serious or consistent, but it started to become a lot more consistent around this year though so you've been doing it for quite some time and back when you know ctb there was like no guidelines you could just post whatever you wanted basically

[01:59] what were you posting by the way like just like you know just ranking videos yeah ranking ranking and clips was just a method back then in like 2023 2024 but yeah obviously it's changed since then but you're running out of even more so let's talk about july last month i just passed your best

[02:15] ever month do you want to walk them through um you don't obviously have to break down the exact niches you're doing but maybe the content styles you're doing just your thought process as to what went into last month and how much you actually ultimately finished the month onto

[02:27] yeah so last month i was posting some commentary videos and some people may notice that from your voice man yeah yeah but apart from that um we finished them up from 13k um yeah

[02:41] crazy sorry joel does commentary content and by the way on my youtube video sometimes i've seen in the comments i'm like people saying oh commentary doesn't get a good rpm blah blah blah like do you want to comment on your experience doing commentary content on tiktok now my specific

[02:55] niche doesn't have the best rpm it's more of a thing where you get more views but it definitely does make a lot of money it's a very consistent niche to go with you yeah because how long have you been doing commentary content now for crp it's been around six seven months by the way

[03:10] it's seven minutes but that's the thing like you've been you said it's quite an evergreen niche right you just do the same kind of content over and over again and joel is in a space where there's basically trends to always take advantage of so he's always going to get the views basically

[03:23] okay sick and also just for people that maybe have never seen commentary before i can put a couple examples on screen do you want to quickly explain like what that video looks like how you bypass like strikes and stuff like that that kind of thing yeah so when you making commentary videos is essentially about specific topic I mean actually when I have high part high paced edits or have you on the screen have an AI voiceover

[03:46] Yeah Yeah, so essentially just like you are using clips from I don't know YouTube or Instagram But because you're cutting it up editing it adding your voiceover captions and stuff like it's completely monetized along tip top. All right, cool

[03:59] You had your breakthrough from 13k by the way, 18 is ridiculous. Before that you were consistently averaging like 5-6k somewhere around that right? Yeah. What would you say was the main difference and I think just from looking at your wing when you posted in the discord it was quite clear but what was the main difference between you going from 6k to 13k?

[04:17] Now the main difference was the fact that I was posting on YouTube Shorts. Now beforehand I was posting primarily on TikTok and I decided to repost one of my account videos onto YouTube using a website called repurpose.io which literally reposts the videos automatically

[04:34] onto YouTube so I don't have to spend any more time and any more time making new videos so that's really what carried them out to be fair. Yeah that's sick source right there for people. So essentially just make it clear you weren't making like completely different videos you were just posting stuff you'd already made onto youtube

[04:48] shorts as well yeah that's crazy so you use a tool called repurpose io which basically allows you to like somewhat automate the process of if you make a video for tiktok post it down or also post it onto youtube shorts and in terms of youtube shorts like what was the breakup of like how much did you

[05:05] make from youtube and like how much from tiktok total for other months so in total we did 13k in a month and 8k came from youtube and around 5k came from tiktok that's crazy and the rpm would

[05:17] have been lower on youtube as well like you just got way more views basically no the thing is youtube was a bit higher than tiktok i wouldn't know oh really the rpm was higher yeah just a little bit oh that's kind of crazy i didn't expect that from this but that just goes to show you never

[05:30] know until you really like test and try it out so yeah that's definitely a play that a lot more people should be running they focus on tiktok that's great tiktok usually has a really good CRP and not personally need to be missing out on free money.

[05:42] The next thing that I wanted to go over is for you after being someone that succeeded with CRP maybe there's people watching right now that have been doing it for months and just can't get results. What would you say is the biggest difference between someone that cannot succeed with Pick

[05:55] Up Curriculars program and someone that actually does make money with it? I feel it comes down to two main things. First you have to do the niche selection like you know the niche doesn't really work for you so pushing into a bad niche or market that doesn't want you know doesn't have demand

[06:09] you just won't get the views. And obviously when you do find a good niche, you need to be able to match the quality. If there's big differences between yours and the main pages, you can't really be surprised when you're not getting views.

[06:22] So whenever you're going into a new niche, you need to be able to match quality. I'd 100% agree with that man. Like quality is such an overlooked thing. People think, oh, that's going viral. Let me just copy it and post it. And they expect to get the results, but they don't.

[06:34] And another thing that's quite funny about your niche is if people from the outside saw the niche you're doing they probably think oh that is so saturated like there's no way you're going to make money with it but do you want to quickly drop your thoughts on I don't know saturation is it really a big issue on TikTok or do you just have to hate

[06:48] good quality content basically? Saturation on TikTok isn't really a big factor if you post you know videos that people seem to like and you stay consistent you will get views over time.

[07:00] Yeah I agree man like there's literally billions of people that use TikTok and are viewing it same to YouTube like yes there might be a quite a bit of competition but if you take that one in concept out of like first way you can absolutely put for sure all right cool the other thing I wanted to go into just to give people an idea on like how much time you spending on this is like what was the best performing video it might even be from you know before because I know you been doing TikTok for a while best performing video in terms of how much

[07:25] it made how many views and like how long did it actually take you to sit down and make that video right so the most money I've ever made from a TikTok video has been four thousand dollars and it took me around an hour to make okay from a singular video is actually nuts and that was

[07:41] through TikTok right? Yeah 100%. That's insane and coming to the content side as well because you do completely faceless videos right just editing videos and the editing side of things

[07:54] a lot of people struggle with that because maybe their first video takes them two three hours do you want to talk about some advice for people that maybe struggle with editing and how you manage to now make your videos like much more efficiently and faster? Yeah so whenever I started

[08:06] even just editing in general were taking a very long time and again back to what i said earlier i really tried my hardest to match quality even that if even if it took me like 10 hours in a day just to do one video and even experience as experienced as i may seem now even at least

[08:21] as i go into now for the very first few videos it still takes me a very long time just to make sure i'm doing it properly yeah i agree and i'm like you just have to put the reps in how many videos well you weren't enough to put your head but how many videos you reckon you've made now for

[08:33] the TikTok at this point. For like a few thousand or something like that. That is ridiculous. If you put the reps in, it's going to become second nature and it's just so quick because I feel like as well, if any news pops up now, you could easily hop on

[08:45] and just edit it because you already know what you're doing. Yeah. Alright, awesome bro. The next thing I wanted to ask is inside Elite, obviously you're inside of Forte Elite which is our coaching program. What would you say is like the most

Was it like the daily calls, community, coaching like what would you say was the most valuable thing to you um for me it was a community you know having like-minded individuals you know really trying to strive towards the same thing is

[09:11] really good and the daily calls is really good as well just being able to send in your videos for review seeing what other people are doing as well you can pick up things from other people and i won't lie when i first you know joined the coaching like i was quite surprised about

[09:25] you know the the rate of you know text messages you had personally oh yeah really like yeah i appreciate that bro i hear it because a lot i mean people have spoke about that in other places you know sometimes you don't really get replies like that but no i definitely do pride upon that and

[09:40] i like how you say the keenity i feel like everyone says that there's not really keenest gatekeepers i see joel himself like sending in niches he finds all the time for people to jump onto like there's no kind of gatekeeping at all in there which is super sick to see yeah another

[09:54] thing that i want to be concerned on always is elite is an investment especially how old were you when you were like 17 probably right yeah 17 yeah that's ridiculous yeah you're 17 years old for you then the investment would have made you start a bit like a risk like you know you really

[10:08] want to make sure it works out what was your mindset growing into it yeah so i've been in a mentorship before um and i won't lie it wasn't the best experience but i learned a lot from it and i learned that you know you just have to pick out the right person and make sure

[10:23] they really have the right information when it comes to whatever you want to go into and going into your mentorship like I'll be completely honest I didn't have the full money for it I really went into it as a risk and you know for me I don't really value having you know

[10:38] trying to pocket a few thousand dollars just to hold it I really want to you know learn information from people who've done it before and I'm happy I've learned and gained from that in the future okay sick so you feel like having the ability to invest in yourself was like the main thing you wanted to focus on them isn it yeah bro you didn have the money for it You not supposed to have been able to join anything You didn have the money for it man Bro I just risked it bro

[11:02] Well, it paid off, so we can't really be complaining too much. I understand. With TikTok now, you just hit 13k at 18. Like, what's your next goal moving forward? Like, how do you want to scale that further? What are you looking to do, really?

[11:14] You know, really, I just want to run more branded accounts that have a bit more longevity to you and going to TikTok shop as well which is also taught in Forte as well yeah this is the

[11:26] thing I've been saying to Joel like he's mastered CRP now with the faceless content editing it on Capco blah blah blah but now I think the next step for you you know TikTok shop has an even higher ceiling in CRP I genuinely believe you can hit a 50k month and I wouldn't be surprised by the end

[11:39] of the year if you're pushing some serious numbers so I think that's the next best day for you for sure and then finally you're very experienced in TikTok now is there any advice that you wanted to give to someone maybe something you wish you knew earlier yourself yeah so i've been posting

[11:54] content for a long time things have not been 100 smooth you know you may see the big mark now at 18 young young but i've been doing it for quite a while and i've run into a few hurdles and all i'll say is you know all that matters is that you keep going and try to improve one percent every single

[12:08] day that's that's right actually let's touch on it because i feel like every time you have one of these calls with someone there's something that went wrong around the line and you can't really prevent it you can't just keep going like oh I really hope I don't you know if you get a strike

[12:20] or violation or whatever it's going to happen what's like a quick example maybe to someone here just so that they can see oh he also went through those issues that maybe you had something annoying from TikTok and you just pushed past it anyway yeah so you know as I mentioned earlier I've been

[12:34] posting on TikTok for a while you know 2024 I even I'm not gonna lie I hit my first 10k mark in 2024 with TikTok and I ran into a thing called a security issue and you know I was searching on YouTube everywhere how to solve it how to solve it and I couldn't find anything so obviously I'm

[12:51] grateful now that TikTok works now and I can monetize a little bit but that's a good example of how I felt lost I felt you know nothing was going my way but I kept going and you know yeah yeah I'm glad you said that because there are going to be people here who may be experiencing

[13:03] some kind of strike and for context the security issue guys back in 2024 was a big problem like the OGs on TikTok will remember that it isn't really a thing anymore at the moment um I've not seen one in a long long long time so you don't have to worry about it but you could have just
