[01:41] they can be different. Some hackers are motivated by money, they steal data, lock systems, use ransomware, sell personal information, or commit financial fraud. For them, cybercrime is just like a business. Whereas, some

[01:54] hackers are driven by political or social causes. These are often called as hacktivists. They may attack a website, leak information, disrupt various services to support a cause or protest against an organization. Then there are

[02:08] curiosity and challenge. They want to test their skills, explore systems, and see whether they can bypass the security or not. Some attacks also happen because of personal revenge. For example, a former employee, competitor, or an angry

[02:22] individual may try to damage a company's reputation. They can leak data or cause there are non-state hackers. They are highly skilled groups that target governments, defense systems, research institutions, and large businesses for

[02:37] intelligence, trade secrets, or national security reasons. So, hackers may have different goals, but one thing is pretty much common. They look for weaknesses in technology, processes, and people. Now, let's try to understand the hacker

[02:50] mindset. To understand hackers, we must first understand how do they think. Hackers are not always doing something dramatic like in the movies. Most of the time, they are patient observers. They study a target, collect information, and

[03:04] look for the easiest way in. The first part of their mindset is persistence. If one method fails, they will try another. If one email is ignored, they are going to send a better one. And if one system is patched, they are going to look for

[03:16] another weak point. The second part comes the curiosity. Hackers ask work? What happens if I enter something unexpected? What information is publicly available or which employee is likely to

[03:29] click a fake link?" Third part is their risk calculations. Many cybercriminals do not attack blindly. They try to hide their identity, use anonymous networks, cover their tracks, and avoid being detected. And the fourth part is

[03:43] creativity. Hackers often think differently from normal users. A normal user sees a login page, but a hacker sees a possible entry point. Normal user also sees an email, but a hacker sees an opportunity to trick someone. And this

[03:58] is why cybersecurity is not about tools, it's also about thinking ahead. Now, I hope so you would have got a brief idea regarding the mindset of the hackers. Let us move ahead by discussing common techniques that hackers use. And one of

[04:11] the most common techniques is phishing. In phishing, hackers create fake emails, messages, websites that look actually genuine. The goal here is to make victim share passwords, bank details, OTPs, or click on malicious link.

[04:27] For example, an employee may receive an email that looks like it came from the IT team asking them to reset their password. The page may look real, but it is actually controlled by the attacker. Another common method is called social

[04:40] engineering. And you can see I have opened the GitHub repo for the same. This is a social engineer toolkit. So, you can find this repo all over here on hackers manipulate people instead of directly attacking the systems.

[04:55] executive, a manager, a delivery person, or even a trusted colleague. Their goal is to create trust and urgency. Next, malware is another major technique. Malware includes viruses, ransoms, Trojans, spyware. So, once

[05:10] told, it can steal your data, monitor activity, damage your files, or even it can take your crucial details, for example, like your uh credit card details and all those things. Now, you can see there is a tool

[05:24] called as Kingfisher, which is present on the GitHub repo, Crimson Forge. So, people use this to do uh you know, phishing activities. And there are a lot of things which you can actually do with this amazing tool.

[05:39] Next, another one is This is also from the Trust Desk. So, this is also uh you you uh social engineer toolkit, and you can use this thing to manipulate all So, you can see uh hackers basically use these tools to

[05:53] do all those things. Now, there is another technique called as man-in-the-middle attacks, which are also very dangerous. intercept communication between two people or systems. They may actually

[06:06] steal sensitive information or modify data while it is transmitted. Then, there are DDoS attack, or we can say that distributed denial-of-service attack. Here, hackers flood a website or a server with huge traffic until it

[06:21] slows down or crashes. And this is often done using botnets, And this is often done using botnets, which are networks of infected devices. So, hackers use different kinds of tools depending upon their goal. Some tools

[06:35] actually can scan the system and identify the weak points. Some are actually used to automate phishing campaigns. Some help create or deliver malware. Some tools also help hide identity and location.

[06:47] The dark web also plays a role in cybercrime. So, if you go all over here and type dark web, so I can see a lot of uh uh you know, unethical activities actually go, and

[07:00] you can read it from the Wikipedia also. So, what exactly is a dark web, and uh how uh these things are actually working, and how, you know, uh you get an overview. So, I think the most of you would have already have a great idea. I

[07:15] repeat. So, guys, when I talk about dark web, uh most of the people also use it for, you know, activities or unethical activities. So, one of the browser that is Tor browser, you would have definitely heard about

[07:29] it. So, here, cybercriminals may also use it to communicate anonymously. Hackers may use VPNs, proxy servers, or anonymous browsing tools to hide their location. And this actually makes it harder for authorities or security teams

[07:44] to trace them. Now, as you all know that AI is also changing the cyber crime. Hackers can use AI to write more convincing phishing emails, automate attacks, create fake voices, generate fake images, and analyze targets faster.

[07:59] This means scams are becoming harder to identify. But, it is very important to remember that many tools used in cybersecurity are not bad by themselves. tools can also be used by ethical hackers to protect companies.

[08:14] The difference is permission, purpose, and legality. Ethical hackers use the same mindset for good. Not every hacker is a criminal. Ethical hackers are also called as the white hat hackers, which use their skills legally to find out and

[08:29] fix security weaknesses. They think like attackers, but work with permission. That's a major difference. Companies hire ethical hackers to test websites, networks, applications, cloud platforms, and they perform penetration

[09:25] vulnerability testing. You can find vulnerabilities in the system. Very amazing tool, guys. Wireshark to actually study the network traffic, understand what is going in the IP packets, and all those things. Very

[09:38] useful tool in studying the network. Then these are the GitHub uh repository uh New Era Cracker IUC. So, this is also very amazing tool. So, that you have to use it for the educational purpose. Don't do any

[09:54] illegal or unethical activities. This can make you a cyber criminal, This can make you a cyber criminal, which is uh not right. Then there is uh which is uh not right. Then there is uh another tool, which we called as uh

[10:07] Mimikatz. So, you can just play with this tool, test out the Windows security, and it's also a very amazing tool. Definitely to study system. So guys, by now you would have got the
