How I Pack for a Weekend Trip: Travel Organization Tips

ever in uh so ever since interviewing Ryan holiday about his note taking system I've been highlighting and annotating and taking notes inside of all my books so I usually bring a highlighter with me and a pen this is just a plastic baggie with my vitamins multivitamins V vitamin C and melatonin I kind of want to keep this in sight so I don't forget about them so I'll put that in that pouch and then of course I've

got my wallet which is just a binder clip let's make this look real smooth wow that was pretty good except it's out of focus okay so this top pouch here is I think technically for your phone but I like to put my glasses in here since I'm always holding onto my phone in my pocket it's got a nice fabricyellow get scratched and then a lens cloth laptop in there and then my iPad so there are two

ways to access like the main large compartment one way is just to unzip this part and you can just flip it fully open like that which is cool my laptop charger can go here and then my mouse once I fly I can clip my key onto that ring uh I'm going to put my deodorant in there as well just cuz you need some do on the go you know this is meant to be a sunglasses case

right here but what I've been using this for is actually small pieces of gear camera gear this is my card reader for my camera this would be a card but I'm actually filming with it now so just use your imagination this is my remote photo trigger and then three batteries 1 2 3 headphones in here and then also this camera that I'm filming on just imagine the camera is going to go inside so that is one

way to open and pack your bag but there is another cooler way let me show you so you can actually expand this bag to be a little bit larger by unzipping this Center zipper and so then the bag just naturally expands and you get a little bit more room but what you can also do is and this blew my mind when I first realized it you can unzip this Center zipper and then you can open the

bag like a suitcase look at that what the heck that's amazing see that's the the headphones that I put in there this is like a magic trick it's amazing I think this is meant to be for shoes but I just don't think I'd have room for shoes in the bag you could probably use this as kind of like a little laundry dirty clothes section as well but that's pretty nifty so I've thoroughly tested out both the

14 L and 20 L nomadic bags for months and I have to say that I very much prefer the 14 lit bag I find that it has just enough organizational compartments for my stuff but not too much the 20 L bag seemed to just have a lot of compartments and pouches that I wasn't using and I also like the size as a smaller person I find that this bag just fits my body a little bit better

the 20 L version being a little bit too bulky for me that said if you are a larger human being and you have more stuff than I do the 20 L one is probably the one for you moving along to my carry-on roll roller bag there we go nice and symmetrical uh I really like using these compression bags they help to just compartmentalize stuff within a large carry-on roller bag got my trusty pair of black jeans

as well as my shorts I should have probably told you guys this sooner but I got a new shirt I know I've been wearing the same exact shirt for the past 10 years and I finally decided to give it a change so much has changed in my life over the years but one thing always remained constant and that was my charcoal t-shirt but now it's time to say goodbye this is a new chapter a new chapter

for me a new chapter for my shirt and my old shirts will now find a new home so yeah I got a new shirt it's like a little bit like of a looser fit it's from a company called Academy I think they're based in Australia only but it's just so comfy it's a little bit thicker than my old shirt I like it let's pack my shirts under and socks one 2 3 4 whoops oh no my

alarm just rang off I've got to go to the podiatrist I went to the podiatrist a couple months ago and he said I have wonky feet I'm getting these like Orthopedic inserts in there's no inserts here when I come back there's going to be inserts it's really screwed up my [Music] day my pediatrist took my shoes he needed to work on them I've got these shoes that I'm going to pack up instead just for demonstrative purposes

if you're just throwing your shoes into your bag without putting them in a shoe bag there's a special place in hell for people like that so yeah I've got my shoes in my shoe bag may flip that upside down that fits better like that so this is my toiletry bag it's an old dagner do bag you can see this bag has just been through the ringer I've been using this for like the past 8 years I

think my ear trimmer cable beard trimmer face lotion this is the hair product that I use Mitch reformer travel toothpaste which is almost ran out floss I don't even floss at home so I don't know why I bring this with me when I travel it's very optimistic when I travel I guess nail clippers tweezers probably don't need this I could just do it before I go but hey I use an electric toothbrush at home but when

I travel I just pack this one to go they give away toothbrushes on international flights usually between the US and Australia and I picked up this little cover on one of those trips lip balm an extra deodorant and a razor cleaning up my beard look at that perfect fit going to be expecting some rain so I'm going to bring my ultr light down from Unico this jacket came with a little pouch to fold it into but

I lost it so what I do now which I think is pretty clever is there's an internal pocket here kind of flip it inside of itself that's my jacket all rolled up got a couple towels for the gym cuz in Australia they don't give you towels at the gym my hat and my jumper so yeah that's it that's everything that I'm packing for my trip this weekend to Melbourne Melbourne Mel Melbourne if you want a chance
