How Telegram Went Downhill in 2025: A Scam Dump for Schoolkids

[01:42] for example, mass fake accounts. These are banal clones of some accounts and so on. These could be fake accounts of people, brands, celebrities, or simply accounts with vulgar avatars that spam comments. This is a long-standing

[01:56] problem in Telegram. As you can understand, these accounts can’t advertise anything good . It is in Telegram that they thrive. The next thing is advertising from dubious services, from various crypto schemes to work-from-home opportunities, so to speak

[02:11] . And on top of that, there were also investments thrown in. This is generally a base. People are receiving letters promising fabulous incomes with minimal investments. This is a standard story, just to draw you into the scheme. Many people pay, and then either

[02:26] receive nothing, or they have to invest more and more, or there are some problems with the withdrawal, and you, of course, have to pay to get your profit, or some other nonsense. Interestingly, Telegram has an official

[02:40] advertising policy that specifies what is prohibited from being advertised, including various financial offers, investments, unlicensed medications , products with false medical effects, and, essentially, drugs and the same old bang. But,

[03:36] from home to chats offering services and searching for various jobs online. The problem is that under the pretext of safe work you will be forced to cheat people who are absolutely not guilty of anything. And,

[03:50] of course, they charge you a huge percentage. And most often I will speak openly . You will not get all your money, so to speak, earned in blood. And it is clear that all responsibility will fall on you. Next

[04:05] are drug shops, pharmacies and hidden trade in medicines, channels for the sale of drugs, psychotropic substances, tranquilizers, and so on in order. They are often called drugstores, meaning they don't break the

[04:18] law. But this is not true. Some work through prescription schemes or through doctors' intermediaries, but most often these are simply hard psychoactive substances. Often, such stores offer employment, and if you agree, you will end up

[04:46] video. And I think you don't have to be a genius to avoid taking jobs advertised by such individuals and freaks. Next, advertising of dubious services. They may be illegal or, let's say, on the verge of legality.

[05:00] Even if a service isn't downright sleazy and offensive, it may be illegal or violate local laws. It could be arms trafficking, yes, even that. There are fake documents, passports, medical documents and so

[05:13] on. The problem here is that Telegram Ads, where all this crap is advertised, has a policy that prohibits advertising such crap, i.e. counterfeits, illegal goods, and so on. But often these advertisements still

[05:27] get through either through bypassing, or through channels that do not participate in official advertising, or through private offers. A simple example is fake medical documents, such as vaccination certificates and

[05:41] test results, which, by the way, are sold in Telegram channels in the public domain. And this, I tell you, is the absolute tip of the iceberg. Part three. Why does all this nonsense continue and why isn’t it nipped in the bud? Limited

[05:55] moderation resources plus a priority on privacy. Telegram emphasizes, and Pavlenti says, that user privacy is very important and comes first for them . But, sorry, privacy is often used as an excuse for poor

[06:10] moderation. The channels are closed, the chats are private, and complaints don't get through; they're either too difficult to process, or there's no one to do it because there's no one moderating. Everyone in the communities is screaming that despite repeated reports of channels with

[06:24] questionable content, there is simply no reaction. Let 's be honest, many of you have seen channels that, well, clearly break the law, but have been around for years. Here's a clear example for you. A channel with questionable content that sells pictures of naked girls.

[06:39] Is this channel breaking the rules? Yes, it obviously violates, but it has been alive since obviously violates, but it has been alive since 2023, and no one bans it. That's the problem. The admins aren't stupid either. They create duplicate channels that violate

[07:21] ultimately dozens of similar ones, and nothing changes. Next is financial motivation. The people behind the scams, shops and advertisers earn a lot of money. There is a request: "I want easy income, quick

[07:37] earnings without investment, work from home." And there are those who use these queries and make money by advertising dubious movements. And these guys who make big money and who own large networks have at least some

[07:51] influence on Telegram. And, of course, my favorite spam, it’s just sitting in my liver. Yes, I'll be honest, Telegram is fighting spam, and it's no longer possible to simply send someone a thousand private messages , like it was,

[08:05] say, five years ago. But be that as it may , this niche is still thriving. If you go to a fairly popular chat, let's take crypto for example, you can be sure that you'll get a private message or

[08:18] you'll be mentioned somewhere, you'll be invited somewhere, and it will most often end in a scam. Let's look at the most banal example of how this all happens. There is a chat where people communicate. It's important that this chat is active and has a

[08:32] competent influencer leading it. Some Vasya collects the usernames of these people who wrote in chats, creates a similar chat to the one in which they wrote, because there is simply a lot of trust in this blogger. Inviting everyone to

[08:45] your chat is when you are invited to a chat without your consent and someone starts in this chat on behalf of the channel administrator, who is trusted to scam these people. Believe me, many won't even notice the difference between these chats. And when the

[09:58] exist. In my opinion, commercial interests play a role here. The more users, the more advertisers, the more people want to sell and promote services, even, by the way, if they are questionable.

[10:12] Telegram receives a portion of its revenue from advertising or promotion. Voila, everyone is in profit. They don't bother those who cheat because they make money off of them. The next reason for the decline is the network promoting dubious

[10:25] services, drug stores, and quick schemes that benefit some players. The people who organize these networks make huge profits, and they have an interest in Telegram not interfering, or interfering very little. Next is

[10:40] user protection. Users often lack clear instructions on how to spot a fake channel, how to verify the service's legitimacy, how to complain effectively, and how to ensure these complaints reach their intended recipients. A simple piece of advice from us, from the Dark Archive, is to go

[10:54] to Settings, right here, Privacy, and disable calls and practically everything else you don't need. And be sure to set a cloud password. This will at least save you a little. The next thing is the snowball effect.

[11:08] One channel was closed, and in fact nothing will change. 10 new ones will appear. For example, one scheme was exposed. It is modified or a new one is invented, and voila, the wheel of samsara will spin and happen forever. I don't know what else to

[12:04] eleventh. And if you know 100 types of scams, then it will be extremely, extremely difficult to scam you. This is a huge plus. What can Telegram do to make things much better? The most important thing is, perhaps, transparency. Telegram

[12:18] could strengthen its channel and account labeling system , adding additional flags like official, artificially created clone, fake, and so on, and create a proper system so users can easily distinguish between a fake

[12:32] channel and a legitimate one. The next thing is effective moderation and faster response. It would simply be enough for them to create an adequate complaints system that actually works, and technical support that answers

[12:45] questions. And not necessarily only based on complaints. Just create a technical support team that will help with all issues. This will already solve a huge bunch of problems. Next is educational work. People, ordinary users, not those who are

[12:59] interested in some kind of scam topics, like on our channel. Our subject matter is too highly specialized. General public should know what a scam is and should understand how the schemes work in order to avoid falling for them. It is

[13:12] precisely the educational approach that will save us from such a large number of scams. And most importantly - legal responsibility. It's important for all users who break the rules to understand that bottling will sooner or

[13:25] later come to your home. Well, obviously, if you break it. This idea should be as clear as day. And, of course, the most important blog for you in this video is about security, about the imaginary security and anonymity that
